Got tagged for the WIP ask mem by @cuubism and @tj-dragonblade and @seiya-starsniper! I was a little hesitant to participate because, uh, I'm bad at having WIPs? But three separate invitations was too much to resist. <3
How many wips do you have currently?
Three! Olympics, DBD/Sandman crossover, and the University AU.
Which one are you finding the hardest to finish? Why do you think that is?
I'll be honest I am a One At A Time Girlie and so I am only working on the Olympics AU right now. The other two are effectively abandoned until/unless I decide to officially revisit them, and if I do, it will be with intentions of finishing them--and they were both abandoned for some structural issues that make me reluctant to revist them. Alas, I'm very boring and don't bounce between projects.
What does it usually look like when inspiration strikes for you?
Lots of thinking! I really try not to start writing anything I won't finish, and so I will spend a long time (usually days, sometimes up to a week) chewing on the idea--scenes, dialogue, themes, world-building, etc. If the idea comes out the other side intact, it's at that point that I'll actually start writing.
Do you curate playlists for each fic or is your process different?
LMAO no. I write in silence. I do have a Cottagecore verse playlist that I eventually made, but other than that, I just have a disorganized collection of songs that vaguely remind me of my blorbos. I love listening to other peoples' playlists, though! RIP 8tracks, I used to live on there for fun fandom playlists.
Do you go balls to the wall and write as you go or are you more organized?
The most boring. I outline and then I write in perfect order, scene by scene, until completion. I am also not particularly fast, but on a really good hit of inspiration can usually churn out about 1k/day. So not particularly balls-to-the-wall in either sense. Still! I get the job done. :D
Tagging, uh. Boy. I have no idea who's already done this already, so apologies if you just posted your own reply like two days ago and my goldfish memory is doing you dirty here--tagging @dsudis, @tharkuun, and @amielot (as applied to art).

Listen. I am just an endless death note AU generator. Currently I have the following going on:
Coffee shop AU but starting slightly before Light becomes Kira: Light meets this mysterious stranger who was tired/felt like adding weirdness to the world one morning and didn't choose a false name for his coffee orders, and it becomes this sort of running joke/game between them with Light trying to figure out his name or various lore about him and L finding this extremely amusing. But then Light finds the death note. L joins the case. Neither of them know this about each other yet, and as Light and L begin to suspect each other they're still keeping up the charade of casual friendship and a half-joking challenge while it takes on a whole additional dimension and they're catching feelings. Hell on earth for poor Light. They have chess sex at one point.
Death Note Randall and Hopkirk (deceased) AU: my personal favorite but extremely niche. Basically ghost L but. a Specific Flavor. Not only do I steal the rahd lore, but there are some Details (muahaha etc.) You don't need to have seen rahd to enjoy it. Here's a playlist but you could not get me to post the actual fic yet under torture
Modern day AU but the main way that this effects the plot is that Light is majorly into competitive Microsoft Excel and L is secretly the world champion that he's had an intense rivalry with ever since Light started.
Another ghost L thing but in this one L possesses Light's body after his death and now they have to Share
Similar to those time travel AUs where Light and/or L gets sent back and have to decide whether to make different decisions except it's the task force (excluding L and Light) and they have to decide whether to try to prove it and arrest him or try to help him and whether they should let Light know about this or if that would be a death sentence. Lots of problem solving, lots of decision making, Light gets to unmask <3 (This one was inspired by (but different from) a tumblr post I should add a link to if I can find it)
One where I mess with the lore so that Light is transforming into a shinigami due to the number of people he has killed (symbolism etc) but this starts right before his confinement so he has to try to hide it and it generally messes up his plans horribly because. Imagine being under constant observation by the world's greatest detective but you're literally transforming into a death god while trying to hide that anything is unusual about you at all.
"Characters watch the show" but it's characters get transported to this world and exposed to modern fandom. This takes place during the warehouse so Light's alive but Mikami is there. They're just yoinked out of there. There is another version of this that takes place during Yotsuba Arc instead.
Along similar-ish lines, a blatantly comedic fic where L reads explicit rpf about L and Kira in front of Light at one point during Yotsuba Arc and Light gets really mad about it leading to intense debate of what Kira would be like in bed, among other things. Keep in mind Light does not have his memories but he does have strong opinions on the topic, for some mysterious reason that Light tries really hard to justify to himself
And more. I love making things worse for my poor little meow meow specifically because I understand his brand of problem solving on a spiritual level and I like to watch it play out. But also because pushing Light to his extremes and seeing how much it takes for him to snap is like crack to me. Mentally putting this guy in saw traps.
#death note#death note au#dn#dn fanfic#tossing the worst enrichment known to man his way like 'mask through THIS' *frequently this takes the form of L and/or L's ghost*#long post#i'm sorry lmao

I was tagged by @magic-ace in this post where they wanted me to answer all of them, so here it is:
🎱 ⇢ post your AO3 total stats
🍓 ⇢ how did you get into writing fanfiction?
A classic tale of "my favorite character didn't get enough screen time" led to this.
🌵 ⇢ share the link to a playlist you love
🕯️ ⇢ on a scale from 1 to 10, how much do you enjoy editing? why is that?
Give it a 5. I don't mind it but it's difficult to focus on the proofreading side of it.
🛼 ⇢ describe your latest wip with five emojis
🔥🔥🌞🔥🔥
🥑 ⇢ you accidentally killed somebody, which mutual(s) do you text for help?
@magic-ace @mecha-milkers @i-am-an-omen
🥤 ⇢ recommend an author or fanfic you love
I haven't finished it, but Descent by Zakharie.
💌 ⇢ how many unread emails do you have right now?
Zero.
🌻 ⇢ tag someone you appreciate but don't talk to on a regular basis
@brockendrems
🐇 ⇢ do you prefer writing original characters, reader inserts, or a mix of both?
Original characters. Reader inserts aren't for me.
🧃 ⇢ share some personal lore you never posted about before
I will share one of my favorite taekwondo stories from many years ago because I think it is funny. Two different short dads I was sparring with managed to accidentally nail me in the face with the same kick on two different occasions, months apart. (You cannot hit the face in taekwondo but going for a headshot it happens a lot.) The first time miraculously didn't knock out any teeth but my upper lip got stuck in my braces and I had to rip it out while laughing maniacally. I looked like a corpse for weeks. The second time was straight in the nose, so my nose is still slightly crooked and makes a crunchy noise if I wiggle it to this day.
Both of the dads felt terrible but I was a teenage boy so I thought blood on my uniform was cool.
The "short dad curse" was real for a bit there and the only reason it hasn't continued is because I am now the short dad myself.
🎲 ⇢ what stops you from writing more in your free time?
I don't have this problem.
🍄 ⇢ share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
Knock Out and Breakdown roughhouse a lot.
🧸 ⇢ what's the fastest way to become your mutual?
Reblog my shit with silly tags.
🪐 ⇢ name three good things going on in your life right now
I'm learning to animate, which is cool.
I'm feeling a little more hopeful about finishing my degree.
My friends are wonderful.
📚 ⇢ what's the last thing you wrote down in your notes app?
I don't use the notes app.
🍬 ⇢ post an unpopular opinion about a popular fandom character
I know better than to share that on this hellsite.
🔪 ⇢ what's the weirdest topic you researched for a writing project?
Typical murder-related writing searches.
🦷 ⇢ share some personal wisdom or a life hack you swear on
I got a small notebook to write tasks in, things I've done, what and when I ate, etc. This has been very helpful for memory loss and blackouts.
❄️ ⇢ what's your dream theme/plot for a fic, and who would write it best?
Don't have one, but one of these days I want to write something more hopeful, something along the lines of a 2010s-era superhero cartoon but as a novel. Don't have a plot for that one yet. It's rotating in my head, though.
🌿 ⇢ give some advice on writer's block and low creativity
One of the best pieces of writing advice I ever heard was "give yourself permission to suck." When you sit down to write you can't be fixated on making it perfect the first time. All your first draft has to do is exist. Anything you write down you can change later, but you gotta get it down first.
🥐 ⇢ name one internet reference that will always make you laugh
My roommate and I keep saying "inch resting" and "ingredience" to each other.
🏜️ ⇢ what's your favourite type of comment to receive on your work?
Any.
🍦 ⇢ name three good things about a character you hate
He makes admittedly funny puns. That's it. That's all I'm giving Silas.
🥝 ⇢ do you lie a lot? what's the most recent lie you told?
I don't lie except for safety.
🦋 ⇢ share something that has been on your heart and mind lately
Grief.
🦴 ⇢ is there a piece of media that inspires your writing?
A few.
🍅 ⇢ give yourself some constructive criticism on your own writing
Don't give my characters enough time to "rest"--it's one crisis after the other. That's the way I like it but someone get em therapy what the hell
🐚 ⇢ do you like or dislike surprises?
It depends what kind.
🪲 ⇢ add 50 words to your current wip and share the paragraph here
She barely made it halfway down to the gallows before something slammed into her, knocking her into the side of the building and shattering a line of windows. The crowd gasped and looked up, and then all Suncatcher could see was shadows and broken glass and the gun someone shoved into her face.
“If you can’t sit back and watch nicely,” Crossfire said, “then you can’t watch at all.”
“Go to hell,” Suncatcher said, and the blades on her forearms snapped out and stabbed into Crossfire’s midsection.
☁️ ⇢ what made you choose your username?
Thought ShortCircuit would be a good pen name for Transformers fanfic. It eventually became a new pen name overall, though I still use NobleRunaway in other spaces.
🐝 ⇢ tag your biggest supporter(s) and say one nice thing about them
@magic-ace @mecha-milkers @i-am-an-omen I love you guys so much. May your pancakes always be fresh.
🌸 ⇢ do you have any pets? if you do, post some pictures of them
So remember when I answered one of these with "grief"
🎨 ⇢ link your favourite piece of fanart and explain why you like it
This doodle of Knock Out because it speaks to me.
🧩 ⇢ what will make you click away from a fanfiction immediately?
I wrote an entire rant and deleted it because the internet can't read. But there is something and it falls under mischaracterization.

for the alphabet ask K, O, P, U and X ! (especially P)
Hi!!! That is indeed a lot of alphabet, thank you so much for the ask!! 💝 Sorry for the slow response, i had to really push my brain to come up with a (good???) au idea 😭 X (tropes I love) is over here
P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).
OK my AU idea is a non-AU AU. Like the characters are in an AU world (any AU would work I think) but actually they're in a dream or in a mirror dimension or something like that. Then a bunch of stuff that is symbolic of their canon storylines happens and it makes them realise they love each other and to get out and be in love for real for real they have to do teamwork and solve a case or something.
For BSD it would be some kind of ability like Poe's book, like someone traps Soukoku in an alternate universe where they don't have their memories or their powers. Skk would realise something is up and that they have to get out, but because abilities don't work on Dazai, he figures he's probably dead, and it's all very angsty and they have a heartfelt goodbye like in season 5. Anyway, they both get out through the power of teamwork and resolved sexual tension and Dazai's totally alive and the reason the ability worked on him is [something something] and it was Dazai's plan to defeat the bad guy all along and then Chuuya suplexes him
K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?
So I want to be super predictable and say Dazai or Chuuya, and I love them and I love their characters and I love finding out more bits and pieces of the past and how far they've come since they were kids. HOWEVER.
AYA.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?
Shuffled my current playlist, this is the random song. I'm gonna say Yosano, Naomi, Teruko and Tsujimura.
U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.
In every fandom I'm in there's always like 3 characters competing for my favourite character, so this is like one of my top 3 from random fandoms I've been in: Riku from KH because white hair, Komaeda from DR2 because white hair and also he's insane, and Kunikida because he's very organised and I aspire to be as organised as him.

WIP Questionaire
thanks for tagging me @thetruearchmagos
1. What is the first part of your WIP that you created?
I made the map years ago with no story in mind, I just wanted to make my own world. That first map was very different from the current draft, I wasn't very experienced with map making then. But the countries and major locations are pretty much the same.
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
I tried really hard to find a song to fill this question, but after going through my spotify playlists and trying to think of one from memory, I just couldn't come up with one that fit.
So, here's the Duke's of Hazzard Intro. I was gonna use this just as a joke, but if you actually listen to the lyrics of the song it kind of fits with the general theme of my wip.
3. What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?
I really like Cozar's backstory, his personality, and where I plan to take him. It took me a while to discover him and piece him together, but I'm really satisfied with what I've come up with. Oros is another character of mine, and while he might not be a main one I think he has potential to be entertaining.
4. What other pieces of media do you think your fan base would share?
I'm really not sure about that. I'm not really part of many current, big, or well known fandoms, so I'm not sure what attracts those fanbases to their media. I want to have a good number of characters that are thoroughly explored within an adventure/redemption story. So other pieces of media that share those traits would probably share fans with my wip.
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?
Motivation and doubt. I doubt myself and my abilities, I wonder if people will like what I write or think that its weird, boring, or predictable. I'm afraid of mean criticism and its tough for me to share what I've written. I've also struggled with motivation because my courses are very writing intense and have sucked out the joy I used to get from writing.
6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
The only one that's important in my first book at least is the Wharzov. It is a large and dangerous feline predator that lives in the taiga of southern Norphendra. The easiest way to describe it is a gray sabertoothed mountain lion. It also preys on humans.
7. How do your characters get around? (Ex. Trains, horses, cars, dragons, etc.)
Lots of different ways, the common everyday methods of transportation don't really differ from ones we use in our world. Throughout the first book alone they use cars, planes, and trains. At the end though, they get a new super secret way to travel that I won't talk about yet haha.
8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
Like I touched on before, my school courses have ruined writing for me. It's turned into something I see as a chore because I hate all the things I've had to write for my classes. They're long, tedious, and boring, and so its become very hard for me to dedicate my free time to writing after being forced to spend hours typing something I hate. So I haven't worked on my wip in months.
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe) of your WIP do you think will draw people in?
The tough bad boy that just needs some love. If this was a popular anime, there'd definately be some wattpad fanfictions about Cozar lol.
10. What are your hopes for your WIP?
That its something that people see, and its something that makes people happy.

30 Day Song(fic) Challenge: Day 20
Aaaand we are officially 2/3 of the way through my Song(fic) Challenge! I am very excited to be here, and with my progress so far! I'm doing a lot of things I've never done before this month--which extends to today's fic, which is a bit different!
Today's prompt was "a song that makes you feel cozy", and I had a bunch of options for this one, since I have an entire 4.5hr playlist of slow cozy love songs. I ended up going with "One and Only" by Teitur, though, which you may better recognize as the song from the water tower fireworks scene in the 2000s classic mermaid movie, Aquamarine. The instrumental in this song has always reminded me of the OST for the farming adventure sim Rune Factory 3, and so I deviated from my usual LoZ to write for a new fandom instead--for the first time in nearly four years!
Stars Above, Stars Below
Game: Rune Factory 3: A Fantasy Harvest Moon
Pairing: Micah/Marian
Word Count: 1582
Keywords: romance, love confession, handholding
He wasn’t sure when it had happened, but sometime between running away from that two-handed weapon she called a syringe, waking up after fainting in one of the dungeons with her tending his bedside (gleefully overcharging him while she was at it), and their walks along the beach through the summer and fall, feelings had blossomed in his heart like the flowers he grew in his fields. He couldn’t help but to fall for her chaotic charm: her determination, her humor, her desire to understand the world and herself, her selfless desire to help others that still never outweighed her selfish desire to help herself. Micah was a slow grower, but Marian made him want to keep up.
Read the fic on AO3, or under the cut!
The stars shone down on the Sol Terrano Sand Sea with dizzying brightness. Above their heads, Micah saw galaxies upon galaxies, layered atop one another like celestial tulle in one of Evelyn’s designs. Violet splashed into emerald green; silver sparkled atop indigo. He hadn’t known a night sky to contain so much color before in his life. Even if he’d had all his memories, he was pretty sure that would still be true.
Of course, he hadn’t stargazed with Marian before like this, either. Perhaps every sky shone brighter with her by his side.
She lay next to him on the dune. The sand, still releasing a soothing warmth from the day’s heat, cushioned them like the finest of mattresses. If Micah wasn’t hyperaware of his date’s every breath and shift in position—she never could sit still for too long—he might have found it comfortable enough to fall asleep.
A warm glow flared to life in his heart at the thought of falling asleep next to Marian someday. Spirits, he was truly head over heels for her, wasn’t he?
“Micah, are you cold?” Marian asked suddenly. His brows drew together in concern at the slight quiver in her voice.
“Maybe…a little? Why?” Was she the cold one? The desert did get chilly at night, it was true. If she wanted to go back…well, it would be a little disappointing, since they’d only been out for half an hour or so, but he would gladly walk her home to the apothecary if that was her choice.
“You just have those little gaps in your sleeve on your shoulders! It’s perfect for a shot, you know. In the past, Micah might have shuddered at a comment like that, but after seasons of getting to know her—and watching her sense of medical ethics slowly improve—he only smiled affectionately up at the sky. “I thought maybe you’d be cold, with those exposed.”
“Oh!” Micah considered it, for a moment. He was a bit cold, if he was honest. Not enough to want to leave, or that it was unpleasant, but enough that he could feel it, and knew he’d feel nicer if he was warmer. “Maybe a little. …What did you have in mind?”
He snuck a peek over at Marian’s face beside him, and found her staring up at the sky with wide eyes, and a blush so hotly red he could see it even in the dark on her cheeks. “Well, I have my cloak with me, and it’s so warm and fuzzy…I thought, if you were cold, we could…share it? Like a blanket?”
Micah’s own cheeks flamed at the thought, and he turned back upright himself so as not to be caught with the incriminatingly gleeful, shocked smile on his face. “S-share a blanket? With you?”
Marian twitched beside him, just for an instant. “Um, yes? But you don’t have to if you don’t want to! I can just keep it to myself.”
Oh, no, it hadn’t been a twitch after all. It had been a flinch. Micah’s heart dropped into his stomach.
While he was feeling guilty, Marian had kept on rambling. “Actually, I might have some medicine here somewhere that would raise your body temperature—”
Micah interrupted as Marian’s hands darted to her skirt pockets. “No, no! I…want to.”
“To take medicine?”
“No!” His voice was too loud, but spirits, Marian could be so endearingly dense sometimes! He made a conscious effort to lower it. “To share your cloak, Marian.”
“Oh!” Micah wasn’t sure if she was trying to mask the delight in her voice at all, but if she had, she had failed. The pressure bearing down on him from his accidental near-rejection of her advances lessened, and he took a full, deep breath. “You should’ve said so from the start, silly!”
He laughed. “You’re right, I should’ve.”
There was silence for a few moments. Micah resisted the urge to look back over at Marian, worried that he would see something on her face she wouldn’t want him to see. Instead, he searched the sky above for any stars of the same candy-cloud blue as her hair. Many came close, but there was never an exact match.
“I’ll…scoot closer, then!” Marian said eventually, her voice high. “Although, I should take off my cloak first, I guess…”
She sat up beside him, and Micah watched, eyes wide, as she untied the large yellow bow that held the cloak together around her shoulders. Her shoulders weren’t anything new to see—they’d shared the beach before, after all—but under the desert starlight, her skin seemed to almost glow.
Or maybe that was a side effect of some new medicine she was researching. He wouldn’t be surprised.
Marian laid back down, and began to scoot across the sand towards him. They’d been about a foot apart before, but that distance shrunk quickly. Micah felt his heart thump-thudding in his chest. Not to leave her hanging, he scooted forward too, until his left arm bumped into her right.
Marian swiftly shook out her cloak and let it flutter down over them. The warmth was immediate: between the sturdy-yet-comfy thick fabric, and Marian’s own body heat that had radiated into that cloak all day long, he felt like he was in a soft cocoon of coziness. Not to mention the way feeling Marian beside him, with all her sharp edges and hesitant presses against his side, made his own internal temperature skyrocket.
“This is a lot warmer,” he said, although he felt quite foolish at such an inane comment. Why couldn’t he be more suave? What was he so scared about? “Thank you for sharing your warmth with me, Marian.”
“You’re welcome!” That higher-pitched tone was still there, but she seemed genuinely pleased by his words. He could take comfort in that.
They lay together under the cloak-blanket, and Micah felt them both begin to relax, ever so slowly. His own tension at not saying the right thing and the new challenge of functioning normally with Marian so close began to abate as he simply enjoyed her company, and Marian’s posture beside him became less rigid.
“The stars are beautiful tonight.” Spirits, why had he opened his mouth? What a useless thing to say.
“They really are!” Marian agreed. He smiled at the zeal in her tone. No matter where, Marian was Marian.
Still no stars in Marian’s color in the sky above them. He was beginning to think that the only celestial body in the whole universe with it was lying right beside him.
Micah took a steadying breath, and then reached out with something besides his stumbling words.
Under the cloak, his tentative hand found her own. His fingers grazed across her palm, and he felt her shiver, just before their fingers intertwined.
Oh, oh. If Marian was a star, he was a supernova. And yet, the feeling of her hand in his brought a strength and courage he hadn’t felt before.
“Marian…there’s something I want to ask you.”
He turned his head to the side, instinctively seeking out the familiar aubergine of her gaze. To his surprise, she was facing him already, eyes widened, mouth poised in an ‘o’.
“I…really like you, Marian,” he confessed, heart thrumming in his throat like a hummingbird’s wings. “No, I—I love you. I don’t think I could’ve gone another day without telling you.”
The recipe for the silver-and-ruby engagement ring flashed in his mind’s eye, and he rushed to clarify. “I-I mean, I’m not ready to get married, I still have so much to do with the farm, and Vale River to free! And I know you still have dreams too at the apothecary that you want to focus on! Not that you’d have to give them up if you married me, of course! I only mean—” Spirits, he was digging himself into a hole here. “I’d like to promise myself to you, though, for the future. If you’ll have me.”
Marian’s gaze had transitioned from shocked, to confused, to amused, as he spoke. Now, she stared back at him with unbelievable tenderness.
“I like you too, Micah,” she whispered, eyes sparkling. “And I love you. And I’d be the silly one if I turned down such an adorable guinea pig.”
Micah cracked a grin despite the seriousness of the moment. He squeezed her hand once, twice, three times. I love you.
Someday, he’d tell her of the significance of the motion, and they would repeat it all the time, until he could get three squeezes back even while she slept beside him in their marriage bed, blue hair tickling his face and legs tangled with his. For now, he stared into the stars in Marian’s eyes, knowing that they were a reflection of the same joy and excitement in his own.

Hello! I'm Ari Allegro, I'm 21 (she/her pronouns) and welcome to my RP blog! Here I send out different RP ads for whatever my silly self is craving! I do both fandomless and fandom RPs but here is a list of some fandoms I would like to RP, and expect more to be added as my interests expand (as they so frequently do lol)
In No Particular Order:
-Undertale/Deltarune
-Hadestown
-Warrior Cats
-Pokémon
-Ducktales 2017
-Hamilton
-Toontown
-Gravity Falls
-Harry Potter
-Encanto
-Sally Face
-Detroit: Become Human
-The Witcher (Netflix) ((Season 1 and 2 only! I haven't finished Season 3!))
-Into/Across the Spiderverse
-Spider-Man: Miles Morales + Marvel Champions (COMICS!)
-X-Men (The Animated Series, I'm working my way to X-Men 97 right now!)
-The Outsiders (All media!)
What I Will Do:
-Doubles
-OC x OC
-OC x Canon (Let's chat about it before!)
-Canon x Canon (Depending on the ship and how well I can play a given character!)
-Platonic/Familial Plots
-Fluff, Angst and Whump
What I WON'T Do:
-Things that trigger me or make me uncomfortable (I will let you know and we can discuss it!)
-NSFW with people under 18 (writers or characters!)
-One-liners. I need to be able to work with what's written, but I also prioritize quality over quantity.
Other Things You Need To Know:
-My timezone is Mountain Standard Time! Chances are I am online though because I'm insane and don't have a sleep schedule lol
-I mirror my partner's length generally, but most commonly I am semi-literate!
-This one is really really important: I have a lot of physical health issues and chronic pain that can make it hard to respond some days, so there may be days I do not get responses in. I also have terrible memory! This is NOT me ghosting you! All I ask is a simple ping and I will update you as soon as possible on what's up!
-If you don't enjoy talking OOC, I will not be your kind of rp partner. I love making headcanons, playlists and Pinterest boards for characters, so get on that with me and I will love you forever!
-I will use IRL faceclaims OR drawn faceclaims based on what is your preference!
-I use Tupperbox for organization! If you do not know how to use it, I will gladly guide you through!

Hetalia Characters and Their Music Tastes
I’ve been in the hetalia fandom for like a year now and I stg thinking abt what these bitches listen to NEVER gets old
no warnings
will feature mostly modern day music, like 1950s-2010s
I don’t know a lot of artists that don’t sing in English so there’s probably A LOT that I’m missing on here, not even including shit from like the 1800s
The Allies
Alfred:
Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood, The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, Crazy In Love by Beyoncé
- Listens to basically everything, but particular fond of like 80s rock and early 2000s shit
- Likes country music bc ofc he does, a huge fan of Carrie Underwood, Sam Hunt, and The Band Perry
- Got his love of rock from England 💀 Especially during the like the 60s-80s when Queen, The Beatles, and Elton John really popular
- They really only bond over their love for this period of music lmao like they would absolutely go ape during karaoke
- He loves more mainstream artists like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, all those iconic mfs
- Probably enjoys old wartime music just for nostalgias sake. Shit from the 40s and he listens to Civil War tunes (Union Dixie lmao)
- Definitely listens to musicals and forces Ivan to as well. His favorites are Hamilton, Hairspray, and Chess
- LOVES LOVES LOVES The Backstreet Bogs holy shit. This man had a whole phase where he dressed like they did. Don’t even dare play I Want It That Way because he WILL sing along
- Speaking of which he’s actually a really good singer, like he probably used to sing at clubs and shit back in the day
- It’s very specific but I imagine his voice to sound like Taron Egerton’s cover of “Crocodile Rock” by Elton John
Arthur:
Killer Queen by Queen, Set Fire to the Rain by Adele, Tiny Dancer by Elton John
- Old man who had a weird punk phase in the 90s. Definitely listens to The Beatles and Gorillaz
- Like I said, he and Alfred bond over Queen and Elton and Bon Jovi and FUCKING Michael Jackson
- Refuses to admit he really likes Elvis
- Oh boy. He had so much fun in like late 2000s and early 2010s— Panic at the Disco, MCR, Green Day, he absolutely got his ears pierced during this time
- Doesn’t listen to like current mainstream music that much he will sob to Adele and probably really likes the Cry Baby album by Melanie Martinez.
- Francis plays so much Lady Gaga in the car that at this point he really likes her music
- He likes Ed Sheeran I am so sorry </3 and he absolutely gets bullied for it
- He can sing too honestly? I know I just said he listens to Ed Sheeran but I honestly think he kinda sounds like him too just maybe a little deeper
- Listen to Galway Girl and you’ll get a basic idea of what I imagine he sounds like
Ivan:
Dance and Cry by Mother Mother, Baby One More Time by Britney Spears, смерти Больше нет by IC3PEAK
- THIS MANS MUSIC TASTE MAKES NO SENSE. It ranges from fucking Aerosmith to Ic3peak to Lady Gaga
- Literally has every Mother Mother album downloaded and probably on Vinyl bc he’s a fucking dweeb
- Also a huge musical stannie, loves Wicked and Hairspray
- He and Al will split the parts to sing along to in the car
- Alfred made him listen to Britney Spears ONCE in like the 90s and now he’s obsessed
- Speaking of the 90s he went absolutely fucking ape during this time. The USSR wasn’t very big on western music but when it fell there was a HUGE influx of it and suddenly like it was just his favorite thing ever
- Alfred also got him into Carrie Underwood, literally lost of his music taste comes from Alfred forcing him to listen to shit
- During the 70s/80s he got really into Fleetwood Mac and Aerosmith, maybe even a little bit of disco but not a lot
- Went to a club with Al a few times and he won’t ever forget dancing to Footloose by Kenny Loggins at like one in the morning and having the absolute time of his life, easily one of his favorite memories
- Like I get so soft thinking about him just letting loose and actually having fun, even though he was very stiff and shit during the 1900s
- He can’t sing LMAO but my friend and I said once that he could lowkey rap really well and now it’s all I think about
Francis:
From Eden by Hozier, La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf, Primadona by Marina
- If you look up the gay agenda his playlist would just show up
- I mean seriously he has it all: Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Lorde
- HOWEVER she does really enjoy softer sounding music. Edith Piaf, Louis Armstrong, and Vera Lynn are favorites of his
- Listens to the Les Mis soundtrack like once a month
- REALLY REALLY loves Hozier, like a whole lot. He’s probably one of his favorite artists along with Sufjan Stevens
- Even more of his homo playlist includes Marina, Madonna and Troye Sivan
- Bullies Arthur for liking Ed Sheeran but he also really likes Ed Sheeran, just refuses to admit it
- Stromae ofc 🙄🤚 can’t just not include like the most popular French musician or whatever
- He can also sing but he sounds kinda raspy, it’s nice tho
Yao:
- I don’t think he listens to music LMAO, if he does it’s probably instrumental
The Axis
Ludwig:
Elastic Heart by Sia, From Now On from The Greatest Showman, Natural by Imagine Dragons
- Also doesn’t really listen to music but my friend said that when he does it ranges from classical to heavy metal
- For some reason I think he really likes Sia, he seems like a Sia kind of guy
- Doesn’t listen to Hozier but really loves Take Me to Church
- Most of his music listening comes from giving Feli the aux in the car
- The whore listens to Imagine Dragons like he fucking loves them
- When The Greatest Showman came out he had the soundtrack on repeat for a solid month, From Now Onis one of his favorite songs ever
- Cannot sing Jesus Christ do not let him near a mic
Feliciano:
Thank u, next by Ariana Grande, Break My Stride by Matthew Wilder, Bella Ciao by Manu Pillas
- Pop music! So much pop!
- Loves Ariana Grande and Conan Gray
- Probably listens to A LOT of classical because of his time with Austria
- His music taste is kinda all over the fucking place and it’s mostly happy and peppy shit
- Weirdly tho he listens to GRLwood? Like it’ll just shhow up on shuffle and suddenly he’s an entire different person
- Will listen to absolutely everything just to find something that Ludwig likes, was so proud of himself when Ludwig really ended up loving The Greatest Showman
- Doesn’t sing but plays like 5 instruments. Violin and piano are his faves
Kiku:
It’s Been So Long by The Living Tombstone, Faded by Alan Walker, Ophelia by The Lumineers
- LISTEN. LISTEN. HE LOVES VIDEO GAME MUSIC AND FUCKING THE LIVING TOMBSTONE
- The fnaf songs are his guilty fucking pleasures, he fucking loves them
- Loves loves loves the Undertake Soundtrack
- Listens to a lot of anime openings 💀 Me too tbh they’re so good at for what
- Big fan of TheFatRat
- In general he enjoys techno shit? Idk what the word is but it’s a lot of instrumental
- Listens to regular music as well (The Lumineers especially)
- Likes listening to Elvis because it makes him happy to see Alfred having fun
- Feli also introduces him to a lot of music but he can never fucking remember the names of the songs or artists
- He hums a lot rather than sings, and it’s really soft and gentle
If anybody wants any more characters lmk bc I love coming up with these, also I do have playlists for these bitches 😎✌️ Spotify is in my linktree (bio)

I’ve taken forever to finish this post. Such round-ups are easier when I haven’t read so many books, and when the pandemic isn’t being so distracting.
Also read: A Bride of Convenience by Jody Hedlund, Cutie and the Beast by M.E. Carter and “Dueling Magics” by Stephanie Burgis.
Total: sixteen novels (including four audiobooks), two novellas, one short story, one graphic novel and one comic volume.
Cover thoughts: Tarashana is my favourite, followed by A Natural History of Dragons. I altered the covers for the Stevenson trilogy -- I like my versions more!
Did not finish: The Long Distance Playlist by Tara Eglington.
Still reading: Love in the Blitz: The Greatest Lost Love Letters of the Second World War by Eileen Alexander.
Next up: The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho.
My full reviews are on Dreamwidth and LibraryThing.
*
A Portrait of Loyalty by Roseanna M. White (narrated by Susan Lyons): Romantic historical mystery, set in London during 1918. Christian fiction. Features characters from the The Number of Love and On Wings of Devotion.
I was surprised by how long it took before I really cared about the characters and their relationships. It was interesting to consider the way dark-room photography could be used -- and manipulated -- in aid of the war effort. 3 ★
*
Playing Hearts by W.R. Gingell: Portal fantasy based on Alice in Wonderland. Novella.
I like retellings and Alice in Wonderland references and Gingell’s storytelling, so I was a bit surprised by how long I took to warm to this. I liked the final section a lot. 3 ★
*
Dawnshard: From the Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson: Fantasy. Part of the Stormlight Archive, set after Oathbringer. Novella.
I struggled to focus, distracted dredging up and searching through my memories of this series. But Sanderson is a successful storyteller, and the end of this adventure was satisfying. 3 ★
*
Game of Hearts by Cathy Yardley: Contemporary fandom-y romance. Features characters from Level Up and One True Pairing.
The characters’ respective family issues were resolved far too readily, but I find this sort of fluffy romance is acceptable if it comes with fandom references.
*
Bel Lamington (1961) by D.E. Stevenson (narrated by Patience Tomlinson): Romantic fiction. Features characters from the Dering Family trilogy.
Delightful. A very gentle sort of story, although it’s not just gardening and picturesque scenery and new friendships -- Bel also encounters stressful difficulties at work. I could predict how everything would all ultimately turn out -- but was surprised by some of the turns the story took getting there. 3½ ★
*
A Bride of Convenience by Jody Hedlund: Historical Christian romance set in 19th century Canada.
An interesting glimpse into an aspect of history I didn’t know about (bride ships), but neither the pacing nor the tone appealed to me. 2 ★
*
Torch by R.J. Anderson: YA-ish fantasy, faeries and shapeshifters. Sequel to Swift and Nomad.
A satisfying conclusion with some surprising developments. I was glad to see things resolve happily for Ivy. 3 ★
*
The Dering Family trilogy by D.E. Stevenson: Romantic fiction set in England and Scotland.
Vittoria Cottage (1949) (narrated by Leslie Mackie): Nothing too dramatic happens but it’s a fascinating insight into postwar life in England, still with rationing. I like that Stevenson considers the concerns of a middle-aged widow worthy of this sort of attention -- and of this sort of romance. 3 ★
Music in the Hills (1950): James Dering goes to stay with his aunt and uncle in Scotland, and learn about farming. I knew how James’ romantic endeavours would unfold (from reading Bel Lamington) but even with that foreknowledge to make things extra predictable, I wanted to keep reading. This has such a strong sense of place! And the characters are very likeable. 3½ ★
Winter and Rough Weather (1951): Follows on from Music in the Hills. A vivid insight into how poor roads and poor weather can isolate one from the outside world. I didn’t mind spending time with James and Rhoda’s friends, but they rather became the focus towards the end and maybe I’d have liked this book more if that hadn’t been the case? 3 ★
*
“Dueling Magics” by Stephanie Burgis: Short story set after A Most Improper Magick. Children’s fantasy. Verdict: cute.
*
Fangirl: the manga, vol. 1 by Rainbow Rowell (story adapted by Sam Maggs and illustrated by Gabi Nam): First installment in the manga adaptation of a young-adult novel about a fangirl going off to college.
A lovely way to revisit Fangirl! Judging from my memory of the novel, this is a remarkably -- and satisfyingly -- faithful adaptation. I really liked the artwork. 3½ ★
*
The Tuyo series by Rachel Neumeier: Fantasy.
Nikoles: A prequel side-story about a minor character from Tuyo. A thoughtful look at what causes a conflict between two peoples to escalate -- or to be resolved -- through the eyes of a likeable protagonist. 3 ★
Tarashana: A direct sequel to Tuyo. I loved it. It’s a journey into the unknown, full of difficulties and danger in that way that good fantasy quests so often are. Very tense! I was also impressed with the way this story explores the challenges of justly judging people, and how this gives Ryo a more nuanced perspective, but the events of the novel thematic cohesion. 4 ★
*
The Long Distance Playlist by Tara Eglinton: Epistolary Australian YA. Unfinished.
Two teenagers reconnect through email and share Spotify recommendations for dealing with breakups. I didn't finish this before my loan expired -- maybe I'll read more when it becomes available again.
*
Second First Impressions by Sally Thorne: Contemporary romance between two 20-something employees at a retirement village.
Thorne has a gift for vividly capturing the quirky personalities of two people and capturing the different ways in which they like each other. There were a few small-ish things in this story I didn’t personally like. Mixed feelings, I have them. 3 ★
*
Copper Mountain by Rachel Neumeier: Urban fantasy. Part of the Black Dog series, set after Shadow Twin and Black Dog Stories III.
Dimilioc deals with demons. I was reminded that I do care about these characters. This wouldn’t have been so tense if I wasn’t so invested! 3½ ★
*
The Year’s Midnight by Rachel Neumeier: Death’s Lady, book one. Portal world fantasy.
Compelling. I really like how, even though Dr Daniel Dodson doesn’t believe his patient Tenai is from another world, this doesn’t actually undermine his ability to help her. Because he believes that Tenai fully believes her story and that it’s important for understanding her anger. 3½ ★
*
A Natural History of Dragons: a memoir by Lady Trent by Marie Brennan (narrated by Kate Reading): Fantasy. Isabella tells of her childhood obsession with dragons, and how, aged nineteen, she joined an expedition to Vystrana.
Such a novel and interesting approach to dragons. Isabella’s adventures are eventful, and her observations are astute and often delightfully expressed. But I came away feeling unsure if I found the ending satisfying, because as a reader, I’m HERE for the emotions. 3½ ★
*
The Murderbot Diaries: Fugitive Telemetry by Martha Wells: Science-fiction. Set between Exit Strategy and Network Effect. Novella.
A less intense installment. On the other hand, I would happily read about Murderbot solving any number of mysteries. ANY NUMBER. It was interesting to see Murderbot working under a different set of restrictions. 3½ ★
*
Cutie and the Beast by M.E. Carter: Contemporary romance, single-parent co-coworkers, roommates-to-lovers.
I finished it but it wasn't really my thing.
*
Runaways: Canon Fodder (volume 5) by Rainbow Rowell (illustrated by Andres Genolet): Marvel superhero comics.
The previous volume had more scenes which stood out to me as memorable or quotable, but this volume had a strong, complete story arc and that was really satisfying! As is the rather pointed commentary about being a superhero. 3½ ★

Hello everyone, a bit of a different post this time.
I know that a lot of people look to Tumblr to engage in their fandoms and to get away from a world that feels dark and hopeless, and that is something I can both understand and relate to. But by coming together we can do good that is impossible to achieve by looking away from the issue, and that’s why spreading the word in any way possible is so important.
There are so many horrible things going on in the world right now, and it’s very easy to feel helpless and defeated when faced with it. It’s easy to forget that there are things we can do to fight racism and injustice in various ways.
To support the Black Lives Matter movement and other organizations that fight for equality there are several things you and I can do - some of them involves donations, but there are definitely other ways to help too. I’ve made a list here of some different ways to help:
Donations:
George Floyd Memorial Fund
Black Lives Matter
NAACP Legal Defence Fund
Communities United Against Police Brutality
Black Visions Collective
Things to do if you are unable to donate:
Petitions to sign:
Justice for George Floyd
Stand with Breonna
We Can’t Breathe
Videos to watch (make sure not to skip the ads or fast forward the video, and make sure that adblock is turned off):
Video 1
Video 2
Video 3
The whole playlist
EDIT: Commissions closed for the time being. Thank you to everyone who made requests!
I’ve also decided to open Ko-fi commissions for written TSS-scene requests. All of the money made from these commissions will be donated to organizations and places that work to fight racism and inequality.
The request can feature any character from The Shadow Society, can feature friendship/romance/rivalry with a chosen character and your MC, or can feature a scene between two established characters of your choice.
A 500-word scene: 3$
A 1000-word scene: 6$
You can of course donate as much money as you would like for the sake of helping, but those are the prices I’ve decided for the requests. If you’re interested in this, please send me a messege on here, and I will take your request and give you the link to my ko-fi.
Thank you to everyone who have put in the work to make these organizations, petitions and videos etc. to help other people.

//Oops that took a while phew, thank you <3
Munday Asks
17 "What was your first muse?"
I guess other than warrior cats and one other oc that werent necessarily mused, it'd be Dipper Pines (regular and most of his aus). I ended up really deep in the Gravity Falls Amino and I ended up in many of the rps defaulting to him for other friends and rpers til I became known for it to an extent gjfjdk. I did a couple other GF charcaters but mainly him in my friend groups.
19 "Do you have ship bias?"
I'll be honest I have no clue what this means. :v If its about writing a ship with someone and their muse, it mostly depends on chemestty and if I know the mun at least a little and if its fun to write. (Ex, I haven't written any real Monix even tho its cute despite having Fox talk to a few Monos here and discord, but have written thinlady with @/gecsha and already otp'd it. I also liked Sevix but wanted SK to want nothing to do with Six in even a friendly regard, but me and @/raincoatnightmare became friends when we were writing and it was funny and cute plus added further character into SK that I like (also now lordlady supremacy ty ty). Or in another fandom, the only character I've written with a canon relationship (or semi-canon? ig its vague?) was Hero from Omori and even then it seems weird to jump into a ship with someone I havent spoken to so it would probably be more prominent with an rper I've talked to before even if its still there with strangers)
25 "Do you play smut? Do you play it only with characters you’re shipping with, or are you open for “one night stands”?"
27 "Are you interested into poly relationships for your muse?"
Tbh Ive (embarrassedly and probably poorly) written it with one other person before in a certain circumstance I don't wanna get into here that ended not-so-well but I'm too nervous to write that kinda thing with others unless we were really comfortable writing that in private. It would always have to be shipping and he's only really shipped with one muse and you already admitted to asking this so I hope youre happy embarrassing me now hfksfkjfkd (also off like you said only adults like SL)
It never starts that way and yet so often ends up like that fhsksl. For SL he's already in a cute poly ship in a verse so I'll say yes to that. Lady Fox hasn't really been written into anything at all yet and I haven't even considered any ship even my beloved thinlady for her so we'll see gjjdls. For puppy ships with the kids again idk
29 "What are your thoughts on your muses' canon?"
Sweats in divergent characters Well Six is really cool and honestly a fun character to watch go through things, I really like her and her clever survival skills even if she's not the most kind in some situations cough cough. I could write a whole essay on why I love her little differences between the other characters in idle animations, cutscene reactions, and her ai actions in LN2. And seeing her in both comic series + those LN2 cutscenes/ai, I like how despite it all its obvious just still just a kid who also enjoys time with others.
RK is honestly my favorite of the protags, little dude is hard (to the) core. I still hate the canon ending 💔 /hj. His specific idle animations we get to see are also interesting in the fact thet theyre a little different from Six's (the only 2 kids at the time). Seeing his interactions with the Nomes (Hideaway), Six (cancelled comic), and reaction to the Flashlight Girl (Depths), it's also neat to see his little personality shine through. I got the feeling he was almost hesitant to escape but went through anyway, and saw it to the end (even if it was his own end) and with all the stepping on coal and glass, hitting every obstacle in the way and still standing up straight, and being resourceful of those around him, and I can respect him. Also he's the only one who's had a chapter I would be too scared to go through if I had the LN mindset so good on him 💔.
36. "Do you feel similar to your muse in any way?"
With Fox I really feel that casual but anxious at any time feeling, and already projected a lot of my anxieties about memory loss onto her. I also just like foxes. (Ive only spent money on game cosmetics 3 times and one was the LN1 fox mask, another was yesterday $10 on an almost useless fox plush on Sky: CotL fhdjsk but hey whats important is invisible to the eyes).
With SK I can feel the "listens to an echo chamber for emotions" sometimes, and holding onto things stubbornly. It's quite easy to write him as I don't like admitting certain things either and deny deny deny, but that makes SL a little harder to make him romance fbdksk.
With SL I do really feel that overprotectiveness and envy in some things, he might be waaay exaggerated ofc but it's there. Im also a big self blamer.
37 "Do you feel different from your muse in any way?"
With Fox I'm much more social, I do like hugs and physical touchs and talking even oversharing cough just look at this whole post whereas she'd very reserved and quiet about her feelings 99% of the time.
With SK I can't really find it in me to hold a grudge that well. I can think back and get annoyed that some teacher or other kid or family member did some bad thing to me in the past, or say "so-and-so hurt me yesterday", but I can't hold it as just hate for long and see it differently. There's very few people I'm having trouble forgiving and forgetting, and they'll never be allowed near my family if I can help it.
With SL I can't say I'm in a good position if I'm in charge. I can be a good right hand or lower ranking moniter/manager, but being the head is too much pressure and depressing. He seems to be doing just fine both on his own and with his wife and/or husband.
38 "What's the best inspiration for your muse?"
Mostly jokes and random ideas with my friends! Some of the best plots I've had personally were turning a romance/ship joke into angst for pain, or angst into romance as hurt/comfort. Ofc music also helps but this is the best!
39 "What's a song that reminds you of your muse?"
I have a whole playlist so let me think of some that only or mostly involve that character and their feelings.
Fox/Six- Again
SK- Cradles
SL- KING

Top 5: writing memories, songs, characters that are not blank rune, runes, food
♡
Linda I love you but are you trying to kill me … that’s so many Top 5’s! But alright, I’ll do my best! (Answers will probably switch between German and English RIP to every non-German-speaker who follows me and wants to read this for some reason I swear I’m normal)
WRITING MEMORIES
5.) The entire time I spent finishing my first (second?) longer writing project It was the year 2012 and it was a cyberpunk story about my friends’ and my edgy self inserts riding dinosaurs, fighting aliens and being badass. The plot twist in the end was that my character was secretly evil and wanted to kill everyone. (Things to show your therapist) The final boss fight made zero sense and also everything was incredibly weird and stupid. But sometimes I still think about those times when I sat in my grandma’s living room at night, eating chips and listening to Vocaloid covers while thinking this story was the coolest shit ever. Truly simpler times.
4.) Researching something about universities in Texas for OvF on a rainy Saturday afternoon I have no idea why this memory is still sticking with me to this day (I think it was around 2016 or something?), but I remember that it was just a really nice day and I felt really at peace at that moment?
3.) The entire writing process of Bathroom Blues It was such a spontaneous project and I still have no idea how I managed to power though it in just a little under two months! Also it was just incredibly fun seeing you getting excited over new drafts and I loved coming up with new plot points and Halloween costumes for everyone with you. :-D Truly a summer worth remembering.
2.) FINALLY uploading the prologue and intro chapter of WWBL Not really a writing memory, but that moment was … so sexy and magical. Seriously, you have no idea how long I had been waiting to finally start that story, waiting for the Steckbriefe to roll in and see people react to the prologue and generally the idea … I even made one of those countdown graphic thingies for the designated upload date! 8D At that point I had planned that story for about six months and just … yeah, that felt powerful to me.
1.) Writing the prologue for WWBL When I first started the draft for that prologue I was sitting at the window in my favourite hotel in Winterberg, Sauerland, wore my dark green flannel, had the window wide open breathing in the cool mountain air and allowed myself to listen to my WWBL playlist for the very first time. God, that felt so amazing. I even have a photo of it (which somehow makes it look like I have the biggest football shoulders in the universe) my sister took that night. God I miss Sauerland. )’:

SONGS
My apologies to every favourite song of mine that I forgot about, I have a whole playlist of them, but I think these are some of my oldest faves … (Honorable mentions for Don’t Mess With Me and Not That Big by Temposhark, Goodbye by Apparat, Me And The Devil by Soap&Skin, Heart Heart Head by Meg Myers, Pain and Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace, Beautiful Crime by Tamer, Gravity Of Love by Enigma, In Flames by Digital Daggers [thanks Phi u_u] and Murder Cries by Snow Ghosts AHHH FUCK IT I could’ve just made a playlist,,,)
5.) Vater Unser by E Nomine Starting off with some weird shit, won’t we? I’ve been in love with this song since fifth or sixth grade, when I was just starting to develop an actual music taste and although I have many favourite songs by E Nomine, this one has to be my absolute fave. Every time I can relate it to a character it makes me love said character even more. (Also I think about it every time my mom forces me to go to church for Christmas so … yay? I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t even be able to remember the Vater Unser if it wasn’t for this song. 8D)
4.) Wires by The Neighbourhood I think this is the newest all-time fave on this list, I found it in … 2015? Thank you, Youtube AMVs. Yeah man, this one is just … on so many playlists it’s not even funny anymore.
3.) Heathens by Twenty One Pilots An edgelord classic but like … it’s on EVERY playlist of mine. Every single one. It’s just so good. The first time I heard it was on the radio tho, when I was having breakfast with Jessie and I forced her to shazam it because it immediately stuck with me,,,
2.) Imaginary by Evanescence My first Evanescence song ever and the first step towards becoming who I am today I think. This song has like … such a big history for me, man. It single-handedly turned me goth in 2008 and I have never really thanked it for that.
1.) Eternal by Evanescence Might be my favourite song of all time. The number of dramatic RP scenes I have written with this in the background … man. Oh, also this song is the reason for one of my oldest internet nicknames, ‘eternala’, which subsequently shortened into Etschuh and then Tschuh, my main nickname until 2017, when I came out as trans and finally found an actual name for myself I was comfortable with!

NON BLANK RUNE CHARACTERS
I know this was probably supposed to be about fandom characters but I can literally not come up with a single character right now that I love with a special burning passion and that is not my or one of my friends’ OCs so you’re getting OCs now. u_u And boy do I have a lot of those.
5.) Jackson Tracey from atroCITY (mine) This little piece of shit kept me company for a pretty long time and is still very close to my heart for some reason, although I haven’t drawn him or really thought about him in detail for a while now. My favourite thing is how I only realized what a horrible person he was after I stopped regularly working with him but honestly good for me. 8D His storyline and personality is kinda convoluted and tbh I’m not really sure how much of it is canon anyway (atrc was always a little weird about canon rip) but yeah. He’s an obsessive stalker piece of shit who pities himself way too much and he is also a semi-immortal demigod who likes knives. I hate him but he also helped me a lot with some gender and sexuality stuff so thanks I guess.
4.) Mayoko Imai from Century Riders DXPrototype (Maus’ and mine) Mayoko is a magical girl protagonist with a cool cyborg arm prosthetic and her main character trait was that she was basically a reverse weeaboo, a Japanese girl who was obsessed with American media, culture and comic book heroes! I actually love her concept a lot and she also had a pretty cool character arc in her story (which Maus and I wrote together and actually finished btw!), although it could use a lot more … polishing from today’s point of view. But I love her anyway. She always wanted to do the right thing and be a hero and got broken pretty cruelly and her ending is kinda bittersweet I guess? Ahh there’s just so much nuance to it … anyways, CR3 also stuck with me for a very long time and I enjoyed the time with her a lot. :3 (Her name had a cameo in Another Incident btw heehee)
3.) Tessa *insert extremely long chain of unnecessary first names here* von Lean from Nobody Is Perfect and Infernal Temptation (belongs to one of my old school friends) Tessa is just … a hand full. I love to hate her. She is badly written and developed and just OOZES mentally ill teenage girl’s idealized self-insert power fantasy, but she just … man, she was a big part of one of my most drama-filled high school friendships which I love looking back at so much. Tessa has fucked so many of my characters … good for her tbh! There are actually two versions of her, one is just a ‘normal’ teenage girl and one can shapeshift into a cheetah, but both of them are very close to my heart. I should really adopt and redesign her some day.
2.) Judy Khayat from Original vs. Final (mine) Look, I love all my OvF-characters and every single one of them is special to me in their own way, but Judy is just … the most complex of them all I think? Man, she went through so much … she is actually one of my oldest (semi)-active characters (I created her in 2009) and her latest version is from 2016 but I should really, REALLY revise her again tbh. She has a very complicated backstory that I didn’t handle as carefully as I should have, and anger issues and religious conflict and depression and PTSD and then Vance of all people becomes obsessed with her for no reason and decides to traumatize her even more … yeah. God I really love her but I seriously need to work on her. A LOT. I should also finally rename her tbh … let’s just see where she takes me next.
1.) Okami (I don’t even remember if she has a proper last name rn lol) from Split Realm (mine) Yeah, that bitch is just my favourite OC. She’s also very old, probably from around 2009, and initially was a magical girl with fire powers who I played in an RP with my friend Flauch but boy did she grow up! Holy fuck. Okami is a horrible person but I love her so much. She is so violent and full of anger and pain and sadness and treats everyone around her like shit and she is in love and she is a demon but also apparently the personification of the concept of Chaos but she just wants to be a teenager again and run away with the love of her life and ahhh it’s all so hopeless for her … also she turned out gnc af with time passing and pretty much went through a gender/sexuality crisis in real time with me, her creator, which is always fun. :^D I haven’t drawn her in a while tbh. Should really do that.

RUNES IN BLANK RUNE
I’m just gonna go with the arcs here, okay? Also this entire answer might look completely different if you asked me again tomorrow, you know how indecisive I am with Blank Rune shit ahha,,,
5.) Jera Look. I know I’m boring and stupid. But I just love Tave and Liam having their disgusting little foreshadowing talk, okay? I can read it over and over. I just love my horrible little shit crime boys. Also Rhy and Phillip are there. (’:
4.) Isa This one is here because it was the first arc I witnessed in real time which gives it a very special place in my heart and it also … hit pretty hard at the time. But having read Fehu it’s become even better now! It’s just such a wonderful, tragic romance between two horrible, ruthless boys and I … I’m not immune to Rhy, sadly. :-/ Just like Phillip.
3.) Wunjo We still haven’t seen everything that leads up to Wunjo yet, but we DO know more than we did initially (wow shocker) and it’s just always a fucking blast. Also, it has the first mention of Ash’s real name … the first Rhy POV (which what the fuck!! I always feel like we had one before but we didn’t!! Wild) and it has crazy blood-soaked murder Tave, my beloved. :///3
2.) Eiwaz You guys have heard me fanboy about Eiwaz so many times already. Eiwaz-OT3 (and Kain) my beloved!!! It’s just SUCH an amazing starting point and there are so, so many things that tie back to it and every time we find out about a new one my heart makes a little jump … und es beginnt von Neuem indeed.
1.) Gebo One of the most painful but also the most beautiful arcs yet in my opinion. It’s been hyped up for so long and boy did it deliver. God, my heart still hurts when I think about that last scene. Also all the dialogue … the golden lines we got … and it’s an arc without Rhy! Crazy!! :-D I just love the relationship between Ash, Astrid and Jakob so much. God fuck I want what they have. Just maybe without the murder suicide,,,

FOOD
5.) Diese Sonntagsbrötchen wo die Verpackung so plopp macht, wenn man die Folie abzieht Better than normale Brötchen for some reason. Most of the time. See 2.) Look man, I just really love a good breakfast …
4.) Chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese topping One of the first things from a certain baking book I tried when I was getting into baking back in 2019. God they are so tasty. I don’t make them often so I don’t get used to them too much and eating them still feels special but ahhhh I love them so much!
3.) Grünkohl mit Kartoffelbrei und Mettendchen One of my favourite things about autumn/winter and one of my biggest comfort foods. God I love this shit so much. I just put … mountains of Grünkohl and Kartoffelbrei on my plate every time and I will just warm it up for four days straight until there’s no more left. It turns me into a fucking caveman. I’m not even big on eating meat but … yeah. Everything is different when there’s Grünkohl.
2.) Normales Brötchen mit Butter und Scheibenkäse aber ich bin beim Frühstücksbuffet im Hotel Oddly specific but that’s just how it is. Sorry. Nichts geht über Brötchen mit Käse.
1.) Chilli-Knoblauch-Nudelauflauf My beloved. My comfort food. I eat it literally every second day. At least one hour in the kitchen every time. Fresh ingredients. My only vegetable intake. And I’ve been doing that for three years. I just love it so much, man. I cook it for everyone who visits me. Chilli-Knoblauch-Auflauf cured my depression.

For the Daft Punk asks: 1993-2021.
Yes, Irene. I want you to answer all of them (except the ones you don’t want to answer, of course ❤️).
/2B
Well well well, this is gonna take a while! I already answered 2011 to 2013 in this ask right here, so I’ll be skipping those!
1993: When did you first hear about Daft Punk? That’s an odd question, and hard to answer.
During my childhood I KNOW I heard songs like Around The World, Music Sounds Better With You, One More Time, Harder Better Faster Stronger, and Technologic later on.
It wasn’t until around 2011 when I had my first contact with Daft Punk, when on a restaurant, on a TV in the background, One More Time was playing. I could not hear the song, but the visuals catched my attention and I became fascinated. Sadly, I did not catch who’s song was that, nor the title.
It wasn’t until Get Lucky and RAM released that I FINALLY figured out who Daft Punk were. The moment I saw the robots, when I rediscovered and watched Interstella 5555 in it’s entirety in one setting, then, was when i got hooked up to them, forever.
1994: What do you find most striking about the band? THE ROBOTS! I love the dessigns, they have SO MUC PERSONALITY. But other things I love are, obviously, their music, the “not giving a shit” actitude, and the way they worked. That’s something I admire a lot, keeping control of your works. As an artist myself, it’s something that can be really important and can help you out in the future.
1995: Do you have any favorite music videos? I love Interstella 5555 with my whole heart. The Homework MVs, specially Burnin’, hold a special place in my heart. I love that in Burnin’ the boys make a cameo for a split second, wearing odd costumes and wigs.
1996: What do you think about the Homework album? Pretty good! I love house music, and it’s certainly the album that introduced me to the genre, so... Da Funk, Around The World, they’re just absolute BANGERS. The “harder” songs on the album aren’t really my thing, tho...
1997: What do you think about Alive 1997? A bit bare-bones, not gonna lie. It’s like 45 minutes long. That’s not a lot. It certainly is something of it’s time. What I love the most are the scarce pictures and videos of that era of them playing live. You can REALLY tell they’re having a blast, specially Thomas.
1998: Do you have any favorite remixes/mash-ups? Their remix of Chord Memory is certainly one of my favorites. It really gives you a... Something. It feels like it’s telling a story, with it’s change of tone later on and then mashing both. Also, that WDPK 83.7 reference!
1999: Has your opinion of the band changed over time? Not really. It just started high and they stay high as my favorite band/musicians. They’re extremely inspiring, specially for the fact they did so many different things, but all feeling so unique to them at the same time. Them also being nice people and supporting of social rights and the LGBT community is certainly a great plus!
2000: Do you have a favorite ‘era’ of Daft Punk? Discovery. It’s the most fun, colorfull, and the one they seemed more “silly”. The robots appeared in their rainbowy marvel and odd/oversized clothes.
2001: What do you think about the Discovery album? It’s My FAVORITE! There are barely no songs I dislike. It have so many different vibes, feelings, you have vocal tracks and instrumental tracks, all with the same quality... And my favorite song from them, Something About Us, is from that album.
2002: Has Daft Punk inspired you creatively? Absolutely. Like, 100%.
2003: What do you think about Interstella 5555? They could’ve worked on that lip-sink a bit better, it’s something that ALWAYS pulls me off. But aside from that, it’s a great concept, and a very special animated film. You can tell there was a lot of care put on it.
2004: Are there any lyrics in particular that stuck with you? Within. That song just, resonates so much with me. Check out my other post with answers, I talk in depth about it!
2005: What do you think about the Human After All album? You can tell it was made in 2 weeks. They were angry, frustrated. And you get a lot of “Thomas Vibe” in that. It feels like it wasn’t a good time for them and it’s reflected in the album.
2006: What do you think about the Musique album? The only good thing from it is that they FINALLY re-released Musique and those remixes! Also, in the special version, you get the Interstella 5555 DVD, which is how I got the movie myself physically!
2007: What do you think about Alive 2007? It’s just great. I wish there was an official version of the entire concert edited by them, where you could see the visuals, the vibes, and the boys all in one enjoying themselves. I’m sad I couldn’t go see them, but at the time I just did not know who they were, and I was only 11. I remember seeing their pyramid on TV when they came to Spain in 2006! I thought it looked really extra, and it really is.
2008: What do you think about Electroma? It’s heartcrushing. I have the feeling they could’ve cutted the ending a little, and I don’t really get why of the dunes looking like a woman and going like, inside the vagina... But still. Also, I can not laugh when they wear the human masks. They’re so ugly x’D Is that how they see themselves?
The bathroom scene ALWAYS gets me. GM08 getting extremely mad and frustrated, while TB3 tries to hold on to what’s left until it can’t be recovered... That says SO MUCH about them, about the robots, as characters and people. You can really get what they’re feeling.
The ending, though... That ending. My god. Everyone always talks about TB3′s death, but the one that really got me the most is GM08′s. It seemed like he wanted to keep going, but finding himself alone ends up being his demise. They need each other. And when he tries to reach to his self-destruct button but cannot, and he just stares in the distance... I really, REALLY felt that.
2009: Do you have a favorite Daft Punk cameo/reference? I talked about the Burnin’ video before, but if I have to think of something else... I think their cameos in different productions are great. Like Sebastien Tellier’s videos of the songs he made with Guy-Man, one with magazines with drawing of GM08, while on the other he appears as a background guy, face partially covered... Also Thomas’ cameo in the movie Realité, where his wife is one of the secondary characters, where he just, again, appears for a split second. I find those really funny.
2010: What do you think about TRON: Legacy? It had a lot going on, but it’s story just... Was bad. The effects are cool (except for the guy they tried to make look younger), and I love that Daft Punk just kept vibing when the fight breaks out at the club. Aside from that, that’s all.
2014: What’s your favorite moment of Daft Punk at the GRAMMYs? The hug. Come on, that’s like, the loveliest thing ever. You can tell how happy and emotional they were. They even had to hold Thomas’ hand because his helmet fogged on the inside.
2015: Do you have friends who like Daft Punk? Hmm... Does all the cool people I’ve met in the fandom count? ;D Specially @edbangingrobot and @invader-777 they’re the coolest people ever <3
2016: What Daft Punk collaborations stood out to you? Probably the one with The Weeknd, but only because of their AMAZINGLY COOL COSTUMES, more than anything. Those have to be my all-time favorite looks for the robots.
2017: Did you get to see Daft Punk live? No :(
2018: How does Daft Punk fit into your taste in music? They have that disco-electro-house vibe I LOVE so much. Why do you think Discovery is my favorite? x’D Tho my tastes go all over the place, if I’m honest. You just have to take a look around my Spotify playlist to see what I’m talking about.
2019: What Daft Punk song makes you smile? One More Time, Digital Love, Voyager and Give Life Back To Music. If you wanna make me get in a good mood, play those.
2020: Did Daft Punk help you get through tough times? They certainly helped me focus on something. I found them in one of the toughest, darkest times of my life. Just had to drop out of school due to my mental illness, only to be abandoned by my old friends, while my family did not listen to me about my depression, anxiety and agoraphobia. Not only that, but we also moved for the third time in a decade, and it wasn’t for fun reasons. Having Daft Punk’s music there as a new discovery to me certainly helped, with their cheerfull, thoughtless songs for a time where everything felt too much.
2021: How are you “holding on” after the split? I am extremely sad we will never get to see the robots again. They’re a really important part of my life. Just like their music. All I hope is that they’re in good therms, and that they’ll be happy for now on. We do not know the reason, but there surely was one behind their decission. If any of them does make something new in the future, I’ll make sure to check it out. It wouldn’t be the first time they’ve done things aside from Daft Punk.

Ways to engage with your story and get re-inspired when you can’t write
We’ve all had those days where writing just isn’t happening. No amount of staring at that word document and typing “the” on the first line does any good. Maybe you’ve just lost inspiration. Maybe your brain won’t focus. Maybe you’re too tired. Whatever the reason, writing just doesn’t happen. So here are some things you can do to engage with your story in other ways and maybe reignite that love for it that made you start in the first place.
1. Fill out character questionnaires. Go on google or search tumblr for character questions. Get the longer ones if you can and just fill out as much as you can come up with. You don’t even have to stop at your main characters. Flesh out the shopkeeper that shows up for two chapters. Give that unnamed teacher a name and dreams, even if none of that shows up in the story. Who knows what it might inspire in you.
2. Fill out world building questionnaires if the story isn’t set in the real world. Even if it’s fanfiction and you’re in the canon world, there’s a lot of world building not included in canon material. Make it up. Who knows, you might find use for it later down the line. Even if you don’t, understanding your world better is fun.
3. Make a pinterest board. Make it for your story in general or for specific characters. Add quotes and aesthetic pictures etc. A tip for finding pictures of things if the words you’re using result in a lot of advertisements and such: add the word “aesthetic” to whatever you’re searching. Ie: “Video game aesthetic” “homeless aesthetic” “assassin aesthetic”. It usually gets rid of all those website and product ads.
4. Make a playlist on spotify or your choice of music site. Again, you can make it for a specific character, ship, or the story as a whole. Make a playlist you think your character would listen to or a playlist with songs that describe them.
5. Draw. Yes, even if you suck at drawing. Draw the layout of your characters bedroom. Draw their house. Draw their dog. Draw an advertisement they might see in a shop window. Draw them. Draw their shoes. Draw the school desk they sit at or the knife they carry. Draw what’s in their backpack. Just draw.
6. Make a 3d model of something related to your story. This one might be a bit more tricky if you’re not crafty or don’t have supplies but it can be a lot of fun. Make a model of their room. Sew a mini shirt for them. Use whatever supplies and skills you have to make a mini version of something.
7. Daydream. Yep. Close your eyes and imagine the scenes in your story or maybe a scene you didn’t put in your story. Imagine them before the story. Imagine them doing mundane things that are too boring to put in a story. Just daydream. This works great if you’re limited by hand pain or exhaustion and you can do it while you take a walk (With your eyes open!!!), working out, or while trying to rest.
8. If you’re writing fanfiction, rewatch/reread/re-engage with the original content or fandoms. Look for things in the og content you may have missed before. Refresh your memory or just enjoy it and remember all the things that made you love it in the first place. See what’s new in the fandom tags on tumblr. Go through fandom blogs.
9. If you’re writing angst or something where someone might have trauma, look up trauma checklists or worksheets. Fill them out for your character. Get a better understanding of their trauma from their point of view. You can do these for most disabilities too. Even if it’s something you’re personally familiar with and based on your own experiences, I find filling out the sheets for the character helps me get in their headspace and see things there way better. Sometimes you find little differences you didn’t notice before.
11. Make a list of movies your characters have seen or would like to see. You can also do this with books or music. If they don’t live in our world, describe the kind of things that would be on that list.
12. Summarize your future chapters if you haven’t already. This one is still sort of writing but it might be easier than actually writing the story. Write a summary of what happens in each chapter for the next several ones. Add whatever details are in your head. Don’t worry about grammar or formats, just ramble.
13. Tell a friend about your story. Okay, this one requires you to have a friend who is interested or, at the very least, willing to listen to you ramble and bounce ideas off them, but it can be a great way to get your excitement up or just think further about your story. Encourage them to ask questions and point out stuff that doesn’t make sense.
14. Go fake shopping for your character. Find items online that might be in their wardrobe or their kitchen or living room or whatever. Get a whole list/shopping cart (just don’t actually buy it). If you’re not in quarantine and want to get out of the house, go to a real store and look for stuff they’d like.
15. Commission art. If you can’t draw and don’t want to, but you have a bit of money you can spare, commission an art piece. This is more for inspirations and motivation than anything else but it’s a great idea. Find an artist you like who is currently taking commissions and commission something. Who knows. You might get a new fan or friend and, at the very least, you’re supporting other creators. And who doesn’t want an art piece for their work.

Ethereal asks!!! Artery, spirituality, honesty and memories!!!
Artery: Does the whole of creation frighten you a bit, in a good or bad way?
Oof, that’s definitely a yes. I haven’t quite made up my mind as to whether it’s in a good way or a bad way yet, but I think there’s a fine line between them that it likes to toe.
Spirituality: Favorite music?
Oh my lord, my music taste is so eclectic. But umm my number one most listened to genre on Spotify every year is show tunes, which tells you a lot about me lol. I tend to gravitate towards the more classical side of musical theatre though, lots of “Golden Age” shows from the 50s and 60s, and a lot of the newer things I listen to are Sondheim or pieces that have roots in classic Disney or Gilbert and Sullivan, etc. Aside from that, Fleetwood Mac has my heart, I love somewhat spooky instrumental pieces (see: my pinned post with my Night Circus playlist lol) and I have a favorite niche of rock music from the 70s and 80s that’s somewhat Halloween-ish, songs like Witchy Woman (Eagles), Highway to Hell (AC/DC), Psycho Killer (Talking Heads), Werewolves of London (Warren Zevon), etc. Not quite sure how I ended up there, but I’m vibing so whatever!
Honesty: Three things you like about tumblr, three things you dislike about tumblr? (without offending anybody!)
Things I like: 1) Anonymity + no pressure or expectation to be glamorous 2) The content created and posted here is god-tier and I’m continually floored by the things I come across 3) I keep meeting so many fantastic people, and through shared interests or fandoms I make friends with people I probably never would have met otherwise!
Things I dislike: 1) The fact that the platform as a whole never seems to work quite right, except it’s screwed up differently on mobile and desktop lmao 2) Some of these ads are weird 3) Sometimes I see people using the site’s anonymity to be really cruel, and to say things that they’d never dare say if their real name was attached.
Memories: Ever met a famous person?
Sure, but I guess it depends on what one’s requirements for “fame” are, and also what circles one moves in. I’ve met some really big names in the Broadway community (for example Scarlett Strallen, Leslie Margherita, Javier Muñoz, Kay Cole) but unless you’re a theatre person you probably wouldn’t recognize their names. I’ve also met some pretty cool names in the Disney category- Dick (Richard) Sherman, Tony Walton, Tony Baxter, Karen Dotrice, and a handful of others, but if you're not into Disney (or theatrical design, in Walton’s case) you’d have no reason to know them. So meeting all of those people was insane for me, because I know and love their work, but I’m also very interested in the areas they’re known in.
Probably the most recognizable names that I’ve shaken hands with are Angela Lansbury and Whoopi Goldberg! And special shoutout to Keala Settle for giving me the best bear hug I’ve ever had when we realized we have matching tattoos in different places :)
#thanks for asking!#ethereal asks#answered#about me#ask me anything#my music taste#im such a theatre nerd lmao
