So I have to pay Charon to be able to actually skip the cutscene? Or can’t it be skipped? I don’t wanna have to pay his ass cause my demons are usually dead, unless he brings me back when I last saved so my demons are still alive. Don’t wanna be revived if my demons are still dead…
Very bad luck with negotiations ~~~~
Damn it mokoi. Should’ve recruited you before napaea…. Last death was fu xhi (?) the old fart
At least you can get stuff sometimes if you have a demon and try to negotiate with them anyway. Got a medicine from a napaea but idk if I died afterward or not. Probably did based on the way stuff goes.
Much less upset about game now~~~
Leveled up to level 3 and dumped 3 points into magic, and 2 into luck. Probably should’ve went agility but eh. Saved so hopefully I stay there.
Which Burroughs apps are useful? Or just play and find out?
I’m an smt newbie and the constant posting like this is obvious, lol. Sorry for all the questions and meaningless updates ~~
I’m waiting to accidentally pay him cause I mash through charon’s text. What happens if I do? Wanna find out but not lose anything due to failed negotiation…
I guess if my demons died I’d need revival beads? Or do what crystaahl does and fuse new demons. But I don’t even have access to the cathedral yet.
Opposite of crystaahl’s just jump in attitude. Her let’s play stream is cool and she got way farther than me much faster… course she’s played nocturne and 5, and iv is my first smt game.
Sorry for stupid updates ~~
Feel like an old man I’m playing so slowly ~~~ trying to be very careful and meticulous with resources cause they seem really limited currently…..
Update: Bufu on Flynn let’s go ~~ need to summon napaea from stock to level her up to get dia but she dies so fast~~ shouldn’t have used a revival bead cause I only had one…. Rip being efficient with resources. T_T;;
#personal#thoughts#thinking#I’m a newbie and these posts are making it very obvious#newbie#to these types of games anyway#but we all start somewhere#so don’t get discouraged huh?#shin megami tensei#smt#shin megami tensei iv#smt iv#negotiation fails#lol#much less upset about it now tho#just trying to not mash through his text so fast I accidentally pay Charon#negotiations really don’t make sense sometimes#fun game#feel like an old man cause I’m playing it very slowly still#wanna get napaea to whisper dia to Flynn in case she dies again so I have it regardless#and I guess don’t feel like I’m playing incorrectly cause we all play at our own pace huh#lost in naraku#not really#I’m just staying near the entrance and trying to recruit things and maybe grind for resources#wonder if anyone even reads the tags?

hello! I saw your reqs were open, and I hope this ask is ok, but first kiss with the Inuyasha boys? 🫢
Hi chérie!! I love this request sm ty! (When requesting Inuyasha put the little 💐:D)
💐- your first kiss w the Inuyasha boys!
A/N- thank you so much for 102 followers!! I love you all mes chéries !!
~ You look lost, visit my garden?
____________________________________________
Inuyasha
- it was sunset and you two were on a branch on a peach tree, watching the beautiful colors in the sky silently.
- it was comfortable silence, warm, inviting.
- there was a ripe peach right behind Inuyasha that you went to grab, blissfully oblivious to how close it got you to Inuyasha’s face.
- when you realized it you just froze.
- he leaned in first, hands gently placed on your cheeks softly holding you.
- surprisingly everything was soft. It wasn’t rushed, there was nothing in that kiss but pure affection poured between you.
- when you two broke away he was beat red and turned his head super quick. “I wouldn’t mind if we did that again you know..”
- he tastes like vanilla
- and you did, grabbing his collar and pressing your lips harder this time.
Miroku
- after a hard mission you had to patch up miroku, who was bruised and battered pretty badly.
- while going near his face you cupped his cheek to go clean up a cut on it. Only for miroku to redirect your face and place a kiss on your lips. It wasn’t too fast, but you didn’t have the lean in moment.
- you were shocked for a bit, but then kissed him back. Him keeping you there by, obviously, placing a hand on your butt and the back of your neck.
- his kisses are passionate.
- he tastes like wild cherries.
- “you wouldn’t mind if I stole another one right?”
Sesshomaru
- it would be in a hot spring. Nothing would be sexual. It’d just be him watching over you while you relax.
- you convinced him to get in, and inched closer and closer to him by the second. A little weary you’d scare him off like a cat.
- he stayed, and you reached out more and more towards him. You would have to lean in first.
- he picks up on your clues tho. By grabbing the back of your neck and gently leaning in as well. Soft, gentle, loving.
- he has a quiet kind of love. The one that has silence deepen your love.
- he tastes like green tea
- he doesn’t ask for another. He just leans in again, pressing a little harder.
Naraku
- he’d be fed up that he didn’t kiss you when he first got infatuated with you.
- the kiss isn’t slow, or gentle, or kind.
- it’s rushed, rough, and demanding.
- you’d be yapping his ear off and suddenly..
- he’d get fed up with your talking and kiss you hard.
- he wouldn’t pull away until a little bit, but when he does he’s smug.
-“That made you shut up didn’t it?”
- he tastes a little like red wine.
Kōga
- you’d be forehead to forehead in his bed one day, talking about stuff until you both went quiet.
- you just looked at each other, seeing how close you were.
- Kōga would lean in first, pressing his lips against yours a little forcefully but sorry! He’s excited
- his tail slightly wags
- he softens up during the kiss, pulling apart and just looking at you, a smile spreading on his face then going in for another.
- he’d have his hands allllll up in your hair.
- he tastes like wild berries.
Jinenji
- stargazing. You’d be stargazing 100%.
- yes, I know it’s where he confessed, but that just makes it even better.
- he’d be having his knees pressing to his chest, making sure you have room, which didn’t matter because you laid your head on his arm anyway, arms wrapped around his.
- you just look up at him.
- oh and he feels it, he flushes. Hard but doesn’t meet your eyes
- You whisper his name to get his attention, he silently turns his head towards.
- you climb up on his lap, hold as much of his face that you can , and press a kiss on his lips.
- he’s shy, and freezes up while his face gets painted with such a deep scarlet you’d think he’s straight up boiling.
- he warms up to it a bit, taking his absolutely massive hand to your back to steady you and shuts his eyes quickly.
- the kiss is full of love, you can feel it as it courses through you. His hand was warm and ever so soft with you, afraid he’ll break you.
- he tastes like fresh herbs.
- he pulls a Rory Gilmore and just stutters out a “thank you..?” Afterwards.
Inuyasha reqs open:) use “💐”

You were relaxing in your home, your feet tucked under your legs as you drank a warm cup of tea, you were deep in thought as you stared on into the distance from within your cozy hut. A fire was going on in the pit with a small cauldron hovering above it, it had about an inch of water within it, the water inside coming to a nice boil. You sighed as you swallowed some of your tea.
The sunset was ever so beautiful as you lost yourself in a trance. You blinked, breaking your trance and you looked over at the cauldron, seeing the water boiling nicely. You hummed, pleased to see the water rolling and bubbling.
You placed your tea down on the circular wooden saucer gently, you then turned to your left and you picked up the saibashi chopsticks, you adjusted them properly in your hand before you picked up an undone dumpling, you gently placed it in the hot water, you had about 4 of them, ready to boil. Once they were all in you placed the lid over the cauldron, allowing them to steam and boil.
Your ears twitched and you looked out into the distance once more, you stared intensely as you could hear a group of footsteps and voices. They all sounded rather young, and they sounded relaxed yet tired. You stood up, dusting off your clothes as you made yourself presentable, but in the middle of your fixing, your eyes wide and your ears perked up, a very familiar yet not forgotten voice sounded out from the crowd that was approaching your home.
You looked out into the distance, your eyes gleaming in hope as you waited for the figures to curve up from the hill. You waited with clenched hands over your fast heart, as the group walked up the hill, you could make out a large animal, and two figures walking next to it along with a small child-like figure.
Your eyes widen and they shined with unshed tears as you made out the familiar red clothing and silver hair. You ran out from the hut, your eyes trained on the young man as you ran towards the group. The small child noticed you approaching and he alerted the others.
They all looked at you with curious stares, and your arms opened wide once you got closer. “INUYASHA!!” You cried out in joy as you wrapped your arms around his chest, your arms went under his and your fingers latched onto his red suikan. Your face pressed into his chest and shoulder, and your tears stained his top, but he didn’t seem to care as he wrapped his arms around you tightly in return.
You could feel how much he had grown, it felt almost like a dream how strong he felt, he was nothing but a young teen the last time you hugged him like this, he wanted to go out and venture off on his own, and you gave him a hug as a final goodbye, telling him that he can always come home for a hot meal and a warm and ready bed.
“Oh, Inuyasha, I missed you so much, there wasn’t a day that went by that I never thought about you. I’ve been so worried, but I know that you’re strong.” You said, your voice wavering as you tried not to sob. He held you tighter. “I know, but you ain’t got to worry…. I’m sorry…. I should’ve checked in on you.” He said, his voice was still the same, just with a bit more base and a natural growl to it. It almost made you want to cry, realizing how much of his life has gone by.
You shook your head, as you pulled back from him, your eyes shined full of motherly love as you stared up at him. “You’ve no need for an apology, you were trying to find your place in the world, so I understand why you left.” You said, your voice full of understanding. His yellow eyes bounced back and forth between yours, he may be grown, but he still held that same love and respect for you. It took you back to his younger days when he was just a child, his eyes haven’t changed. He was still your baby boy.
You blinked and you stared up at them with a baffling look, he blinked in confusion at your stare. “W-what?” He asked as he stared down at you. You stepped up on your tip-toes, your hands gently caressing his cheeks. He stared down at you with a dazed look, but he didn’t stop you. You suddenly pinched his cheeks and you pulled on them. “OW! OWW! STOP THAT! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?” He shouted in pain as he gently yet firmly grabbed your wrists as he tried to pry your hands off. You pulled his cheeks apart in different directions before you let them go and you gave both of his cheeks a good smack.
He stepped back some as he rubbed his cheek with one of his hands as he gave you a half-hearted glare. “What the heck was that for?” He asked, his voice held irritation. You gave a pleased smile before you placed your hands on your hips before you nodded in satisfaction. “Mmhmm, there we go!! I missed those rosy cheeks of yours!!” You said, he blinked in confusion. “Rosy?” He asked.
You nodded. The small child you had seen before questioned aloud. “Inuyasha had rosy cheeks?” He asked, his little voice made your heart clench from how cute he sounded, you looked over at him, he was sitting in the young girl's arms, and he was nested in her arms as she cradled him. His bright green eyes made you nearly squeal at how cute he was. His big blue bow in his ginger hair was just too cute. His sharp ears and little fangs indicated that he was a demon child, but you already knew that from his scent. You smiled at him, nodding at his question.
“That’s right when he was younger, he had the cutest rosy cheeks!! They were always either pink or shy of red, I just couldn’t bare to see him without them any longer!!” You explained as you gushed at the memory. He growled from behind you as you retold the memories of his cheeks that he himself must’ve forgotten. The small boy stared up at you before he gave a smug smirk over at Inuyasha. “I never knew that Inuyasha had girly cheeks.” He said in a teasing voice.
Inuyasha glared over at him. “WHAT YOU SAY!?” He shouted as he stomped but made no advance towards him. The girl holding him stared at Inuyasha with an observatory stare. “You know, it is kind of cute.” She said, he stepped back at her comment. “W-WHAT!?” He called out, the woman on the large feline also gave him the same stare. “I agree with, Kagome, it surprisingly fits you.” She said, Inuyasha stared at her with a look of disbelief. The Monk behind her nodded his head in agreement. “It suits your human qualities.” He said.
Inuyasha grumbled as he turned away from the group, he pulled his sleeve down over his hand as he scrubbed at his cheeks, trying to get rid of the redness, unknowingly making it redder. You chuckled at his actions, as you rubbed his back soothingly. You continued rubbing his back as you looked back over at the group, finally taking them in. They all stared at your action with a questioning stare.
You eyed their clothing, they all seemed normal, aside from the girl holding the boy. She wore a small green cloth, and long white socks with large leather covering over her feet. She wore a long white sleeve piece of fitted clothing with a green pattern on it, and a red cloth tied around her neck.
Your nose twitched as you blinked. “You’re not from around here, are you?” You asked aloud, they all looked over at you, and the girl blinked before she gave you a slightly nervous smile. “Umm, yeah, you’re not wrong.” She said. You smiled at her, you could tell that she was young, your motherly instinct blooming to life. “No need to be nervous dear, I don’t bite.”
You gently said as you tried to calm her, it seemed to work, the warmth in your eyes matched your smile and she seemed to relax. You chuckled, your eyes closing as you looked back at Inuyasha who still had his back toward everyone. “Inuyasha, won’t you invite your friends inside? I was just about to make some steamed dumplings.” You suggested. His ears slightly twitched and he stood up straighter.
You gave a sly smile his way. “I was also about to make some sashimi, with some steamed dumplings and rice.” You said as you turned towards the hut. He turned towards you, his eyes slightly widen. “Sashimi?” He asked, you held in your giggle at his cuteness that he never seemed to lose. “Sashimi.” You confirmed. He stood there a little longer before he looked at his small group. “Well, you guys heard her, get inside.” He said. You shook your head at his rudeness, but he’s always been this way.
You walked on towards the hut, as you listened to the lot of them bicker amongst themselves…
The sun has fully vanished, and with her, she took her bright light, and in her stead, the moon and all her followers appeared. The straw curtain to your hut was drawn, closing the doorway to the hut, shielding your privacy from the world. The rice was being cooked over the flames in the cauldron, you made more steamed dumplings and sashimi.
You were steering the rice in the cauldron gently, so as to not make the rice mushy. Inuyasha, Miroku, and Shippo were all sitting by the door of the hut, while You, Kagome, and Sango were all helping to prepare the meal. When they all first entered, they all introduced themselves to you. You were surprised that they have yet to ask whom you were to Inuyasha, but they could tell that you were very important.
Once the majority of the food was done, both Kagome and Sango sat down with you around the fire, as they quietly conversed with you, while you steered the rice. “So, if it isn’t rude of me to ask, who are you to Inuyasha?” Sango asked. Everyone looked over at you, curious eyes stared at you as they all waited patiently for you to answer. You’ve been waiting for this question, and you gently placed the wooden spoon down on the setting stone to keep the water from molding your tatami floors.
“I don’t mind at all, in fact, I’m shocked that Inuyasha hasn’t yet spoken of me.” You said, your voice even while a motherly warmth spread from you. Kagme stared at you for a moment, before she gasped as if she placed together a long-awaited thought together. You smiled at her as a knowing gleam came into your eyes. “My name is (Y/N), and I am Inuyasha’s adoptive mother.” You explained as you bowed in a proper greeting.
They all stared at you in shock before they all looked over at Inuyasha who had his eyes closed, his sword cradled in his arms, but his ears twitched to show that he was listening. They all looked back over at you. “YOU’RE HIS WHAT!?” They all shouted. You sat back up before you gave them all a small giggle.

I think you or someone else discussed how Inuyasha is most likely demisexual because of his lack of interest in nudity until he formed an emotional bond. I was just thinking how the anti’s claimed Inuyasha settled for Kagome, but all evidence points to him loving her *despite* her resemblance to Kikyo. Not hating on Kikyo, just pointing out how Inuyasha kept saying it’s his fault she died because he didn’t trust her, even though trust has to go both ways but whatever, so if he was settling then Kagome would be a daily reminder that he failed Kikyo. Which would sound like hell considering his repeated claims of his fault.
But clearly in the past discussion of Inuyasha being demisexual, we all know he isn’t shallow or ”settling”.
I might have mentioned Inuyasha being demisexual once or twice, but I don't remember posting something that specific. Maybe someone else did and I reblogged it?
I'm glad you brought up the "Inuyasha settled for Kagome" terrible take, though, because you make great points and boy do I have something to say about it.
First, I love that you mentioned trust has to go both ways despite Inuyasha blaming Kikyo's death solely on his lack of trust on her. It always bothered me how quickily and sincerely he owned up to the role he played on her fate when there was zero reciprocity from Kikyo.
He went as far as taking responsability for things that have never really happened and that would be completely out of his control if they had, such as Kikyo "dying to follow after him" even though he didn't ask for it and never would.
The irony is that, between the two of them, Kikyo was actually the one more equipped to realize they were being played and yet, not only she falls for the same trap, but never really acknowledges that her lack of trust on Inuyasha was just as detrimental to their downfall.
Naraku's entire plan was based on both of them doubting each other. If either one had been more trusting, it'd have failed. Inuyasha recognizes this and regrets not trusting Kikyo, immediately treating her like the victim that she is and never once blaming her.
But he is a victim himself and she never extends the same courtesy to him, still thinking her actions were justified because he should have trusted her — not the other way around — and so she never bothers easing his guilt. On the contrary, she purposely adds to it.
The thing about the love triangle — for lack of a better term — is that Inuyasha and Kagome are constantly pushing their feelings aside to empathize with each other's and Kikyo's pain, while Kikyo acts like she's the only one who's hurting.
Which is to be expected at first because she is the one who died and was brought back against her will, but as the story progressed, I kept waiting for Kikyo to see a little bit of herself on the ordinary girl who was entrusted the weight of the world upon her shoulders, had her shoes to fill and the mess she left behind to clean up.
I kept waiting for her to show some sympathy for the boy who lost fifty years of his life because she misjudged him and was willing to die for a debt she manipulated and guilt-tripped him into thinking he had, a boy she supposedly loves.
None of it came, at least not in a way that felt organic or satisfying. That's my main issue with how Kikyo was written. You can't paint her as a complex character and then gloss over her flaws. You can't sell her as gray character and then pretend the bad things she did never happened.
Takahashi wanted her to reap all of the rewards that come with a redemption arc without really bothering to make her go through one, because that would mean having Kikyo face her mistakes for what they were — including her distrust on Inuyasha — and then apologizing or making up for it, a feat that rarely happened in canon, if at all.
Instead, she abruptly stops acting as vicious, so everything can be conveniently forgiven and forgotten because "she isn't like that anymore." The lack of explanation about what motivated this change makes harder for the audience to connect with her and results in many plot inconsistencies.
And the lack of accountability regarding Kikyo's actions keeps her from growing and reaching her full potential as a character, indirectly regressing or preventing the development of the characters around her as well, which I believe is a huge part of why the story feels repetitive and stagnant at times.
Now, you're definitely onto something when you argue that all evidence actually points to Inuyasha falling in love with Kagome despite her resemblance to Kikyo. I've actually talked about it here and here.
While it's true that Inuyasha mistook Kagome for Kikyo when they first met, it would've been unreasonable to expect anything different. Their looks and scents are similar, he had just woken up from a fifty years long spell and up until then he had no reason to believe otherwise, but Inuyasha actually caught up in a decent amount of time.
After that, as much as he still refused to call Kagome by name, he was also very aware she wasn't Kikyo, to the point that it took seeing her with complete priestess attire on for him to even make that correlation again.
And yet, Inuyasha still doesn't go back into thinking they're the same person, but rather that Kagome's a girl who resembles Kikyo. Only eventually, even this starts to change the more time they spend together and suddenly, when Inuyasha has a nightmare about Kikyo, is Kagome he sees first.
Mind you, he has only seen Kagome in priestess clothes once. Kikyo wore those her entire life. It'd be understandable for him to confuse Kagome for Kikyo and yet Kagome was his first thought here when, by logic, she shouldn't have been. From them on, he doesn't even see any resemblance between the two girls at all anymore.
Which makes sense, because even if Inuyasha had tried to use Kagome as a replacement — something he never did — he couldn't possibly have succeded, since both girls are polar opposites — a creative choice that was done completely on purpose — and Kagome wasn't slightly interested on being anyone but herself, making her into the worst Kikyo replacement ever.
That's why it got easier for Inuyasha to distinguish one girl from the other with time. Their distinct personalities make up for completely different dynamics and bring completely different feelings out of Inuyasha, because they represent completely different things to him and, again: this is done absolutely on purpose.
In the manga, this is better illustrated by two very specific panels. In the first one, Kikyo is smiling sadly but genuinely at Inuyasha — which we don't see her do often — and he admitted later on that the exchange made him feel guilty, like he had done something wrong, since he had just been rude to her.
In the second one, Kagome is smiling brightly at Inuyasha, which she does constantly, then we immediately see him blush and think to himself how relieved he is to see that smile
Of course those are very different contexts, but they pretty much set the tone for both relationships and if the arrangement of those panels wasn't a conscious choice — which I doubt — then Takahashi is insanely lucky. It's also worth noting that Inuyasha felt relieved to see Kagome smiling because it was further confirmation that even after Kikyo's resurrection, she was still Kagome.
So I think it's safe to say the physical resemblance actually slowed the romantic process down, considering that the staged betrayal made Inuyasha build his walls even taller than they were when he met Kikyo. This becomes even more clear when you compare their respective first "amicable" conversations.
With Kikyo, even though he was reluctant about her approach and suspicious of her intentions, there was still a part of him that obviously wanted it to be true, so he was at least open to what she had to say.
With Kagome, he was visibly more aggressive and closed off because he has been burned before and she was the reincarnation of the woman who did the burning, which makes her managing to get his trust so quickly that much more remarkable, since she apparently did in less time and in worse circumstances, what Kikyo couldn't.
And Kagome did it precisely because she never acted like Kikyo. She actually took the time to know Inuyasha, to give him her trust and to earn his, to build a solid relationship, based on honesty and real acceptance.
I like to think that, while Kikyo found a crack on Inuyasha's defense she could slip in, Kagome slowly smashed his walls to the ground, therefore leaving an ever lasting impact on him that she couldn't have made by being anyone but herself.
When Inuyasha starts to pursue Kagome romantically, he does so after concluding that there's absolutely no resemblance between the two girls at all and after going through an entire arc where Kagome cried for his sake and trusted him blindly, none of which has anything to do with Kikyo.
People argue that Inuyasha was actually trying to kiss Kikyo here, but why would he do that when he still thinks she betrayed him? And if this was really the case, then why has he never willingly kissed or tried to kiss Kikyo until their final goodbye, Sunrise additions excluded?
At this point, it makes more sense to me that he was avoiding to look at Kagome not because she looks like Kikyo — he has been looking at her just fine before —, but because he has started to catch feelings for her despite his efforts not to and doesn't know how to act. In fact, when he had the chance to kiss Kikyo soon after, this is what we got instead:
And then he hugs her — something the anime cut out — but the important thing is that Inuyasha had this and many other opportunities to rekindle his relationship with Kikyo and simply didn't.
In this particular occasion, he even go as far as to ask Kikyo to return the piece of soul that keeps her "alive" to Kagome knowing full well what the consequences were.
Why would Inuyasha settle for a "replacement" when he could have the real thing instead? Even if you believe resurrected Kikyo to be nothing more than a malicious replica of the original, she's still more Kikyo than Kagome could or would ever be.
I dislike this notion because if it's true and there's not an ounce of Kikyo there, why should the audience or the characters care if she "lives" or "dies"? If she gets a redemption arc or not? It feels like a cop out to only consider her the real Kikyo when she does good things.
That being said, save for maybe one scene at the beginning where Inuyasha shoved a bow and some arrows at Kagome because Kikyo was a master archer, he never expected her to behave like Kikyo, never tried to change her so she would and never acted frustrated or disappointed at the fact that she was her own person.
Inuyasha has his flaws — as any good main character should — but he always respected the inviduality of both girls, which is more than I can say about the people who insist on this baseless take.
To wrongly paint Inuyasha as someone who settled for Kagome because she looks like Kikyo gets especially icky when even Naraku, the villain who was obsessed with her, never redirected said obsession to Kagome.
It's such a common trope that I was actually expecting it, but I'm glad it didn't happen because it's a subtle and yet effective way of sedimenting both girls as separate individuals instead of going for the cheapest option.
And ironically, the only character who treated Kagome as if she was Kikyo was Kikyo herself, but even that was very early on and she only seemed to do it as a way of belittling Kagome, because while mentioning her to other people — or by the end of the story — Kikyo had no trouble referring to Kagome as a different being.
Sunrise's adaptation made very questionable choices but something they were pretty consistent on was making clear Kagome and Kikyo aren't the same.
Besides, something fundamentally wrong with this argument is that Inuyasha comes off as shallow and Kikyo as disposeable. Shallow because it suggests physical appearance is all that matters — which goes against everything his character stands for in canon — and the soul is just a seal of approval.
Disposeable because it hints Kikyo's personality is so forgettable and unimportant that it played absolutely no part on sparkling Inuyasha's interest. She's so easily replaceable that even someone who had opposite world views, thoughts, feelings, temperament and mannerisms could do the trick. The memories they made are so generic that it wouldn't have make a difference if any other character was in her place.
Why do people even like those characters, why do they even ship them together if they truly believe that? That's why I don't buy that they actually do.
You see, considering how huge Kagome's soul is, Kikyo technically has got to be someone else's reincarnation too, but I've never seen anyone making the case that she is anyone but herself or that her predecessor is also the love of Inuyasha's life.
The reason they try to do this with Kagome is so that they can pretend Inuyasha and Kikyo somehow ended up together to cope with the fact that they didn't. And that's the exact same reason they pretend he setled for Kagome as well.
Which is funny because what exactly was Inuyasha settling for? Like, in the great scheem of things, what was Kikyo able to give him that he couldn't get a thousand times better from Kagome with no strings attached and just had to make his peace with it?
It seems to me like it was the other way around: Kagome managed to accomplish everything Kikyo failed to do, so if anything Inuyasha was settling, it was for Kikyo, resigned to spend the rest of his life as human — something he hated to be — just to get "accepted" or to die for something he didn't do just to appease her.
Finally, to say inuyasha settled implies he had no other choice but to marry Kagome. He had: staying single, because now that he has friends and wasn't alone anymore, he doesn't need a lover to fill that empty space in his life if he doesn't want one.
Plus, Kagome wasn't entitled to his love. She jumped trought that well knowing that three years is a long time, that people and feelings change and that what waited for her on the other side was a mystery, but she did it anyway because all she ever wanted from him was to stay by his side and for him to be honest with her.
Kagome would've been fine with a platonic relationship because even though she obviously wanted more, she was ready to accept whatever Inuyasha was willing to give her, but he wanted her to return so he could give her everything, which he couldn't before because he felt in debt with Kikyo. That's the whole point.
Inuyasha was the one who iniciated every romantic moment they had early on: the first hug, both almost kisses, etc. And it was clear that the things Kagome made him feel, such as that sense of peace, of belonging, of unadultered happiness, were very new to him, so the idea that Inuyasha was settling for her is laughable when this is the character in question:
I know a lot of those scenes were deleted or changed by Sunrise but I watched the anime without reading the manga beforehand and reached the exact same conclusions, so I'm still of the opinion that the people who convinced themselves Kagome was a consolation prize either didn't pay attention or have an agenda of their own to push, that won't change by reading the original material.
TLDR; one does not simply "settle" for their soulmate. They come home to them.
#As you can see I have no self control when it comes to this topic#I bet you regret sending this ask now but this one is on you anon#I won't feel bad about it because I know nobody will read it anyway#And I'm glad I wrote this because if I ever get another ask on the subject I can just link this post and call it quits#So thank you for this opportunity#Sidmailing#Inuyasha#Kagome#Inukag

Like a Petal in The Wind
Koga x fem!human!reader
Warnings: blood, miroku
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Koga! Koga slow down” Puffed Ginka
“Yeah! Koga! Please we need water” Huffed Hakkaku
The gray tornado several meters ahead stopped. In its place stood a wolf demon. His skin tanned from time in the sun, eyes a shade of blue that looked back at the two other wolf demons who panted and gasped for air. Long black hair tied back with a simple brown chord. A brown fur headband helped to keep his bangs off his face while he ran. shoulder plates, a fur loincloth and a sliver and black cuirasse adorned his body, with shin armor finished what the demon wore.
Pointed ears listened to a babbling brook close by as clawed hands scratched the back of his head while the two other wolf demons caught up.
One with a sliver mohawk was dressed in similar clothing to Koga. He panted with his hands on his knees.
"Koga! Water! Please!" Spat out Hakkaku.
"Koga! We can't keep up with you! We don't have sacred jewel shards like you do! Please let's rest" Half begged Ginka.
Begrudgingly, Koga agreed. He knew he had less of a chance of killing Naraku and avenging comrades if his pack was tired.
"Alright. It smells like a river is just east of here. Let's rest there for the night" He turned his back, starting to walk in the direction of the river. Excited, Ginka and Hakkaku went after him, still calling out his name.
The sun was high in the sky, Ginka and Hakkaku had gone further down stream to fish for lunch, as Koga sat under a tree. One of his ears flicked, his head turned in a direction as he stayed put. His nose crinkled, the sweet smell of flowers and bitter smell of herbs clashing together was putrid.
The sent only grew closer till he spotted a young woman. long black hair tied back with a simple white linen chord. Dressed in a simple kosode that went down to her ankles. A carrying cloth mixed with flowers and herbs. He studied her, watching as she knelt down to the earth, and untied her carrying cloth, adding a few more herbs to her bag.
She stood up after gathering what she needed and retired the bag. She stood up as a gust of wind blew by. His nose twitched. underneath the putrid sent, was a sweet one. It was like the flowers she had picked, yet much lighter and fragment, something almost undetectable if he were not a demon, like a tsubaki flower. As soon as he had caught the sent, he lost it, the sent flowing away like a petal in the wind.
Koga watched as the woman started to walk away. Some part of him missed the sent layered under the putrid mix of herbs and flowers, soon having to remind himself that he only had eyes for Kagome. It was long after she had left that Ginka and Hakkaku returned from fishing.
"Koga! Koga look!" His eyes snapped over to Ginka and Hakkaku, each proudly holding a bundle of fish in their hands.
Eyeing the look in their eyes, Koga decided to indulge himself as they had with fish. "I've come to the decision" he scratched the back of his head. "Since you guys wanted to rest, why don't we stay here for a few days. The pack could after all use a break"
The pack seemed happy at the decision, deciding to take the time they had and spend the evening resting and fill their stomachs. Koga stayed where he was, nose to the wind. He had caught the putrid sent once more. Maybe it was because he was bored, or maybe because he wanted to get another sniff of what was hidden under the putrid sent, the wolf demon ran after it, the jewel shards in his legs aiding his speed.
Koga found himself on the outskirts of a village. The local shrine quite large for its size. His curiosity quenched for the night, Koga returned to his pack.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the village the woman Koga had been watching from a far had finally made it to the shrine. Approaching the priest she showed him the herbs and flowers she had gathered. Together the two had separated the herbs from the flowers. The herbs organized to be laid out in the sun the next day to be dried, and the flowers to be displayed inside.
The woman stayed with the shrine as she had no where else to go, and busied herself with helping gather herbs or do odd jobs for others. Like was simple, yet fulfilling.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a night like any other when a group of five entered the temple one hot sunny afternoon. The woman watched as the priest welcomed a monk draped in purple robes and his friends. Watching closely from a far she was filled with curiosity, she had never seen such an odd group of people. A half dog demon with long white hair dressed in red robes. A woman with mid length black hair in a strange set of clothing of white and green. The monk with purple robes who's eyes were glued on a woman who looked like to be a demon slayer judging by the large boomerang on her back. Her eyes widened with wonder wonder as she looked at the twin tailed little cat on the demon slayers shoulder. She sighed as she saw a little fox demon child jump up on the one with the red robes.
"Its rude to stare you know. Come on out don't be a coward" The one in red stated, turning his back towards you.
Taking a deep breath you came out from the hiding spot as the priest chuckled. The priest then introduced you to the group as you shyly waved and apologized for staring.
"Hi! I'm Kagome! That's Inuyasha" The girl in the strange clothing motioned over to the one in red. "That's Miroku!" Kagome motioned to the monk, who waved his hand. "Shippo is the one on Inuyasha's shoulder, Songo is the demons layer and the one on her shoulder is Kirara!"
You sat there, taking in all the information before nodding your head.
"The priest here said you could give us a tour of the area?" Songo asked, to which you nodded. Together you all left the temple, heading towards the stream where Koga, Ginta and Hakkaku were staying.
-------------------------
Koga sniffed the air a few times, before mumbling something underneath his breath, and taking off running towards the village, leaving Hakkaku and Ginta to once again chance after him. Koga's nose was on to the Inuyashas's sent as well as the ever flowery sent of the woman he's only seen hand full of times.
Kagome waved at the approaching tornado as you looked worried, opting to stand next to Songo, someone you knew would protect you if the occasion occurred.
The tornado dispersed. You gasped softly looking at the attractive wolf demon. "Hey Kagome! You gonna ditch that mutt yet?" Smirked the wolf demon as Inuyasha snarled.
"Hey who you calling a mutt?" growled Inuyasha, reaching for his sword.
"if it's a fight you want it's a fight you'll get!"
"Hey lets uh, lets calm down right guys?" Kagome nervously chuckled, raising her hands and looking over at Miroku who simply shrugged. Cringing when she heard the sound of Tessaiga being drawn Kagome had enough, “Sit boy” You watched as Inuyasha fell flat on his face with a pained cry, one that wolf demon looked quite proud about. “Sorry Koga, what brings you around here? It’s not often that we get to cross paths?”
You placed a calloused hand over your mouth, gasping under your breath as Koga took Kagome's hands into his own. "Oh just here to ask you to be my wife." You're attention snapped to Inuyasha, who was now up and walking.
"She's not interested!"
"Ah I'm so sorry (y/n). It may be a while, do you think you coul-Ah!" Apologized Songo before wiping around, covering her behind. You followed her gaze to see Miroku the monk. One of his hands holding onto the staff, his face looking serious with his eyes closed. The hand with the light purple covering twitching slightly.
You cringed physically as Songo wacked him over the head with her boomerang made of bone.
"Why you-!"
"I'm sorry Songo! The hand as a mind of its own I swear!"
"Pervert!"
You sighed. Frightened, confused and slightly annoyed you knew you were in for a long day.
------------------------------------------------------------------
The sun was finally starting to set as you showed them the area around the river. Falling to the back of the pack was Koga, his eyes drifting between Kagome and You. He was feeling mixed. Kagome was the woman he was set on having his wife, yet on the other hand it was your sent that made him so curious about you.
The sun set had only served to paint you in a beautiful light, the warm tones leaning into night would be enough to make him question. Watching as the group waved goodbye and moved on into the village, Koga, Ginta and Hakkaku made there way back to the camp they had been staying in for the past few days. Once again, Koga sat with his back against the grand tree, with his nose up in the air. He closed his eyes, unsure if he were savoring the sent of you or Kagome.
With each good gust of wind, he swore he could smell you. He was confused, a human who he did not even know the name of, had such an effect on him. Trying to distract himself, he focused his thoughts on the crude Naraku and his little puppets made from his flesh Kana and Kagura. With his eyes closed, he swore he could smell Naraku's sent in the wind flowing up from the village.
Inhaling once again, he focused more on the sent. Jumping up, he had gotten the sent of human blood mixed in with Kagome's your and Naraku's sent. Not bothering to inform Ginta or Hakkaku he took off running full speed in the direction of the village.
----------------------------------------------------------
You were sleeping peacefully in the room the priest was so kind as to give to you. Keyword "were". Some sort of tornado seemed to appear out of nowhere, rousing you from your slumber with a a start. Scrambling outside to see what was going on, your eyes winded in horror. You watched this woman dressed in a long red and white stripped Kosoke with a fan in her hand. With each swipe if her fan, another tornado seemed to fall.
“Inuyasha! Come out come out wherever you are” The woman taunted. Unleashing a different sort of attack. With a grunt several half moon shaped blades cut through the very building she was once sleeping in. Gasping in fright, you stared to run away, only hearing as Inuyasha responded to the taunts himself.
You dare not look back as you hear more blades being flung in your direction, no thanks in part to a tornado currently making its way through your village. You went down with a scream, your leg feeling damp and heavy al of a sudden. Adrenaline pumping through your vanes, you pushed yourself up, running further and further way from the carnage of your village, making your way slowly to the stream.
——————————————————————————-
The stench of human blood filled Koga’s nose, standing up. The unforgettable stench of Naraku mixed in with the blood. Growling, he took off running, leaving his pack behind. Quickly making it into the village he spotted the demon behind the attack, Kagura. He could do nothing but watch as the two battled, before watching as Kagura backed off. Plucking a feather from her hair and tossing it in the air, both Kana, holding the mirror and Kagura stepped on. Once more he watched as Kagura taunted Inuyasha, before floating off into the night, leaving Inuyasha shouting nonsense back. His eyes drifted over to Kagome, his shoulders dropping when he saw she was safe. Still in the air was the stench of blood, mixed in with the faint smell of flower blossoms. Alarm crossed is mind as he looked up the hill, seeing a trail of blood. Cursing under his breath and asking himself what Kagome would have him do, he followed the blood.
Reaching the stream Koga stopped, his emotions swirling in his head as he walked closer. There on the bank of the river you laid. The stench of blood was strong coming off you, Koga inspected you for injury, hesitating when he saw the cut on your leg. Making a fist he undid the bandana around his head, using it to stop the bleeding. Koga could hear the the short breaths you took, slowly coming too as he finished tying it around your leg.
With a groan you looked up at him, recoiling in horror for a moment before seeming to relax just the slightest. He looked at you, confusion crossing his features.
“Well, aren’t you going to scream in terror? Beg for your life?” Koga seamed to loom over you as he spoke.
You shook your head. “Nay, I saw how you were with Kagome and her friends, if you wished to hurt me I should think you would have killed me already”
Koga scoffed, sitting back and giving you space to sit up. Wincing as you do, his eyes scanned you for a more injuries, only looking away when he was sure he saw no others. After a few moments of silence, he stood up, getting his arms underneath you and picking you up, being mindful of your injury.
“Hey! Wait! What are you doing?!”
“Taking you to Kagome. Her medicine form her world would help you faster than any other person I can think of” Koga responded, his tone not giving away any of his emotions as he walked with you towards the ruins of your village. You clung on tight, both out of fear and pain, biting your lip as he carried you.
Reaching the village Koga waisted no time in tracking down Kagome. Explaining the situation as your eyes squeezed shut not wanting to look at any bodies that scattered the ground. You heard Kagome agree with Koga, the loud thunk of a bag being dropped and the rattle of things begging savaged through. You were carried into one of the few still standing houses, being set down carefully. You watched as Kagome carefully peeled away the now blood soaked wolf fur bandana, handing it back to Koga. Koga took it, holding onto it, looking away from Kagome and you. Inuyasha sat with his back against the wall, eyes shut, seeming to be resting after his fight with Kagura.
—————————————-
A few days later it was decided, you would travel with Inuyasha and his friends while you recovered, hoping to find a new village for you to move into after you had recovered. Koga and Inuyasha had talked about it, figuring it would be safer for you to go with them.
And so your adventure started, traveling with the half demon Inuyasha, Kagome, the fox child Shippo, demon slayer Songo and monk Mruko. Unknown to everyone but inuyasha, Koga and his pack seemd to trail behind, be it for Kagome or you, only time could tell.
@inuvember | Inuvember 2024 | Prompt Miroku | Ao3
Miroku frowned as he turned the textbook page back and forth, back and forth, back and-
“Kagome-sama, query,” he finally called out and Kagome glanced up from whatever stew she was working on, “The war of the world. It says the country of Japan was involved.”
“Ah, yup,” Kagome chuckled awkwardly as she stirred a few herbs into their dinner, “Japan was indeed involved in that.”
Miroku marked the pages with his hand and opened to the map that was printed behind the cover.
“So we had battle with the continent and lost,” Miroku surmised - looking rather perplexed and like that wasn’t surprising at all, “I will say the demons we’ve encountered from that region have been rather impressive and if it is how you say, that there are no monks or priestesses in your time, no demons, the defeat must have been rather sound.”
Kagome sucked on her teeth and watched as Inuyasha gracefully got up from where he’d been pouting beneath a tree for no reason.
“Let me see that,” Inuyasha huffed as he stormed over and took the book out of the monks hands, “What page were you on? Where was the battle?”
Miroku sighed in annoyance and yanked the book back. After a minute, he found the section he was on and Inuyasha plopped down with a scowl.
“So the continent killed all the demons,” Inuyasha mumbled before raising irritated eyes on Kagome who was ignoring them, “Oi! Kagome! The continent killed all the demons, right?”
Kagome let out a controlled breath. Of all the days for Sango to go repair her weapon, it had to be the one the boys decided to actually take an interest in what she was learning.
“Demons were not involved in World War II,” Kagome sighed and both men’s head whipped up.
“Two?!”
Kagome winced and continued stirring her stew.
“There were two wars of the world. Two?” Miroku hissed in disbelief as he began flipping pages until he got to a map - he ran his finger over the page, “But Japan looks so small comparatively. Your book said-“
“Look, I do not have the time or the patience to catch you two up on centuries of history that hasn’t even happened yet,” Kagome huffed, “Japan attacked. We pissed everyone off. Lots of battles. Big bombs go big boom. We surrendered. The end.”
Miroku made a face whereas Inuyasha seemed oddly defensive.
”Why would we have attacked-“
“We started the fight then surrendered?” Inuyasha scoffed in disgust, “No way Japan surrendered. We’d fight to the death.”
“Yeah, yeah, that was kinda what happened then the other side dropped big bombs and wiped out entire cities in minutes,” Kagome supplied, “Ash. Nothing. Just gone. So the emperor surrendered to prevent everyone dying. Good job Japan.”
“So you think we should’ve kept fighting,” Inuyasha asked curiously.
“That isn’t what I said,” Kagome groaned, “In the grand scheme of things, Japan was one of the aggressors. We did bad things. We were one of the Narakus of the world.”
“Well, we’ll change it. That’s what the quest is, right? We stop him. No Naraku. No world war,” Inuyasha concluded and Kagome gave him an incredulous look.
“Naraku wasn’t involved in World War II,” Kagome replied slowly, “That’d be four hundred years from now.”
“I’m just saying no one would be stupid enough to invade the entire world unless it was Naraku,” Inuyasha huffed with an eye roll, “We kill him. The war of worlds never happens. Problem solved.”
“It would still happen because it wasn’t Naraku,” Kagome insisted, “It was-“
“Emperor Hirohito,” Miroku supplied with a frown before he abruptly flipped back several pages, “I’m not particularly well versed in the world of politics but we have an emperor now, do we not?”
Kagome’s eye twitched at the non sequitur nature of this conversation.
“Yes. Yes, we have an emperor. The dynasty goes back to the 7th, maybe 5th or 6th, century-“
“Dynasty? So the line of succession has been unbroken?” Miroku breathed in awe, “That’s-“
“What number are we now?” Inuyasha interjected as he yanked the book back, “Kagome, what number century-“
Miroku gave his friend a withering glare and stole the book back.
“What does it matter what century?” Miroku clipped, “The upper classes have always preyed on us and if this book is correct, that continued until it nearly destroyed the entire-“
“That why you prey on them?” Inuyasha surmised, “Bitter about class inequality?”
Miroku scowled.
“For a fellow member of the low born class, I would think-“
“For the record I am not low born on either side. I’m high born,” Inuyasha humphed pettily. Miroku looked nonplussed and raised a single brow.
“How is that working out for you? Well, I presume?”
Inuyasha’s face contorted in anger.
”How about I shove that-
The poor miko closed her eyes and let out a long breath.
“Neither of you need to worry about the freaking World Wars. If anything, just keep an ear out for the name Nobunaga,” Kagome muttered and Inuyasha gaped like Kagome just slapped him.
“The rejected toad prince guy?!”
Kagome sat back and pinched the bridge of her nose.
“How do you remember that?”
“Because I’m not stupid,” Inuyasha scoffed in annoyance, “You saying I should’ve killed the toad guy? Why didn’t you tell me? Look what you did! Now we get world wars.”
“No, no, I am not saying we should’ve killed the toad guy! He had nothing to do-“
Miroku glanced between them with a somewhat amused smile.
“Was I present for the Nobunaga toad man?”
Inuyasha sighed in annoyance and rolled his eyes.
“Don’t remember a gross comment about the naked women in these bubble things so-“
Miroku’s eyes widened in interest.
“In bubbles, you say?”
“Oda Nobunaga was a shogun who unified Japan. The ‘Great Unifier’. It was not the poor kid who came to save the frog princess,” Kagome interjected before this conversation could devolve further into madness.
“And the emperor is the leader of Japan, right? So Nobunaga becomes the emperor,” Inuyasha concluded incorrectly, “We kill him. No world wars. Problem solved.”
“I would like to revisit the bubbles,” Miroku hummed with a wicked grin, “Specifically-“
“No,” Kagome snapped at the monk before turning her irritation onto Inuyasha, “And no. No, Nobunaga was not and is not the Emperor. Just a very-“
“So who’s the Emperor then?” Inuyasha cut in.
“Hirohito,” Miroku supplied unthinkingly, “So about the bubbles, were they-“
“Can we stop talking about the bubbles!?” Kagome screeched before cursing softly when her stew began bubbling over. She quickly began trying to move it off the flames, “And no! No, Hirohito is in four hundred-“
“So if the war of the freaking world didn’t kill demons, what killed demons?” Inuyasha interjected like that was the most important part that kept getting skimmed over, “Because I’ve been to your time. There aren’t demons.”
“Well maybe they just all moved or got sprayed with demon pesticide. I don’t know,” Kagome hissed as she tried to keep their food from getting ruined.
“Pesticide?” Miroku asked curiously, “What is pesticide?”
Kagome barely stopped herself from screaming.
“Spray that kills bugs on crops,” she ground out as her annoyance hit critical levels, “Look, I am trying to save our food-“
“That would make a difference,” Miroku hummed with a wise nod.
“Oh like you’re a farmer who’d know,” Inuyasha scoffed before rounding in Kagome, “When did demons stop showing up in your books? Because look around, they’re everywhere right now. When did they-“
Breathing heavily, Kagome turned irate eyes on them both before getting to her feet and storming away. The boys watched her go for a minute before Miroku gave Inuyasha a side-eyed glance and a playful smirk.
“Out of curiosity, how many bubbles were there?”
Inuyasha fidgeted as he watched Kagome head into the treeline - probably to scream.
“Dozens,” a faint blush, “Not gunna lie. It was kinda awesome. You know, except the toad demon eating their souls bit.”
Miroku made a soft ‘hm’ sound and nodded sagely.
“That would put a damper on things, yes.”
Inuyasha - A Meta about Sango's Entrance
So let's talk a little bit about our girl, Sango's entrance into the storyline for the start of Sango week.
Sango's entrance into the story is fit for a character that deserves the emotional investigation that she deserves.
Sango is shown to be the only female demon slayer in her village. Is this normal? We're to assume no, based on how we do see women in the village, but they seem to hold a more traditional role in the village. However, what we can safely assume is that these women are the backbone of the village, because who else is going to spend time mixing and preparing all the salves, powders, and poisons that they use on a regular basis. And let's be honest, they're gonna have to wash those uniforms eventually.
But Sango goes out with the group of demons slayers that HE TRUSTS THE MOST to take care of the infestation at this noble's house.
As we all know, Kohaku, her brother, betrays everyone through the plan of Naraku to kill all the demons slayers and leave the village unprotected and prime for attack.
However, Kohaku kills everyone else first, and then aims for Sango. Naraku saw everyone else as a bigger threat than Sango.
Now this is prime EMOTIONAL DAMAGE material, right? Except it wasn't to torture Sango, it was to eliminate those he thought of as a bigger threat. He viewed Sango and Kohaku as both weaker than the rest, and so he saved them for last.
However, Sango knows her brother, and knows that there's something wrong. Because Sango knows her people, and so she tries to wake Kohaku up.
And Sango is the one to figure out who is behind this whole mess, because she knows that it's an ambush.
And when the castle guards, who had no clue what was happening, kills Kohaku RIGHT AFTER HE'D STABBED HER IN THE BACK MIND YOU, Sango's forgiveness is immediate.
Let's not even talk about how after being stabbed in the back by her brother, she literally crawls out of her own grave.
Because for Sango, this is a resurrection in a sense. Her entire life as she knew it, her way of living, everything that shaped how Sango viewed herself has been eradicated. She is literally coming back from nothing and a complete betrayal by someone she trusted implicitly.
Literally everyone looked at her and went, "She's dead," and she looked so dead that they buried her and even Naraku was surprised about her still being alive.
And once Naraku tells her that Inuyasha was behind the attack at the village, and lays the blow that her entire village is now destroyed, Sango can barely walk and she's out for revenge. In fact, Naraku keeps thinking that she's dead every time she stops to rest.
And let's not forget the first words that she says to the group.
Sango doesn't do anything by halves in this story, and her entrance here is a girl who's lost everything and more, and is literally running solely on revenge and hate. This should've been a villain's entrance. We should hate her. However, Sango's situation begets nothing but remorse and sympathy. We want to love Sango because we know everything that she's been through.
Sango is every bit the villain that the story of Inuyasha deserved. She'd have decimated the group and we would've still cheered for her.
And after she realizes that she's been tricked? It was only after losing the jewel shard in her back that she even felt the pain of what had happened to her, and she still struggled to fight afterwards.
While she's recovering, we see that Sango's heart isn't entirely corrupted. She's still capable of caring, and she realizes just what the gang has done for people that they had no attachment to or reason to care for. But they did it all the same.
This kindness is probably what keeps Sango with them. Sango is inherently kind. We see that before, and we see it now.
Sango's loss defines her, but it doesn't change her. Sango is who she was and always has been.
She's still kind. She's still noble. And if anything, Sango is the proof that we can have great loss in our life and still remain good and uncorrupted.
Sango's entrance into the story shows the dynamics of her character. We see her knowledge and skills, her determination, but we also see her flaws. We know that she's passionate, but sometimes she's blinded in her rage and vengeance. She's loyal, but we see that as a flaw in how she's literally willing to die to get her revenge.
I hope that you enjoyed this little tidbit. Hopefully there will be more in the near future.
So... at this point I think I've read every COMPLETE, CANON, ENGLISH, MULTI-CHAPTER story (Sesesskag obv) on A03. I've been at it for years 🤣
Now I feel like rereading stuff but idk what to read. I find myself falling back on the same few stories ...
Snow Angel
Only Human
Windows on the West
Fallen Angel
Convival
Second Alliance
A Mikos Peace
The Flower Girl
& A Blue Ribbon
These are my fallback books. Granted there are a few in @sereia1313 multichapter collection that will be added to thus list once they're done. Also I Can Hear You & Dear Sesshomaru by @ladydanitar will be pit on the list once finished.
So here's the problem...
I want to read, but I don't feel like reading any of my fall backs, and nothing is popping out to me.
There us one story I remember reading once. There was some exhibitionism going on in it, but it was a decent story. Really spicy lol 🔥.
There's one scene where Sesshomaru... does... Kagome on a balcony in front of a crowd of people. Another time a council member walks in on them doing the deed & they just keep going while Sesshomaru tears him a new one. I also believe in the same story they get it on 3x in their travels each time either naraku koga or inuyasha see them & Sesshomaru knows it.
No idea the name of this story...
Another one I read is kind of messed up but interesting... Kagome accidentally seals Sesshomaru & when she releases him she's flooded with his (extremely) trumatic childhood memories. His dad basically trades him as a means to stop a war.
Or...
I kind of want to read something long. I'm not in the mood for grape-y turned love atm.
Maybe a slow burn? Friends to lovers? Traveling with Sesshoumaru? Funny or Akward Sesshomaru? Even modern day post Canon would be nice. (As mentioned, Fallen Angel is one of my all time favorites.) Heck, even a drabble series...
Does anyone have any recommendations??? After the week I've had, I just want to get lost in a good sesskag story for a bit on my day off before I have to adult again. 🙃
#knowing that naraku was planning to betray sess from day one. but then started to hesitate because he was catching feelings.#and when sess lost his arm they came closer. and started to really. know one another. open up.#but knowing that no matter what sess would never see him as an equal. and how (SEEMINGLY) sess would never overlook the fact that#he is a human. and a lowborn at that.#is what solidifies naraku's decision to go through with the betrayal. at first it was a convenience thing. but then it was more visceral.#recalling all of the tender moments as he looks down at sess and says how much he hated him all along. oof.
Modern Life [Inuyasha]
Sesshomaru, Inuyasha, Bankotsu, Naraku, Kikyo
C|TW: none
SESSHOMARU
Sesshomaru comes from a wealthy family that held a high status in Japan. While he wasn’t spoiled rotten by his parents, Sesshomaru wanted nothing. His mother, Chiyo, allowed him to partake in any hobby that caught his interest and do what he pleases as long as he wasn’t reckless. He was happy until his father started cheating and it ruined his life.
Sesshomaru would hear his parents arguing and yelling the most heinous things. They’d no longer pay him any attention, too occupied with each other. He thought they’d quit bickering if he excelled in his hobbies. But none of his black belts, ballet roles, piano performances, or cooking feats caught their attention. Shocking no one, Sesshomaru grew bitter towards his father and the mystery family he had.
Now as an adult, Sesshomaru was given three-hundred twenty-five million dollars and some land by his father. Since Tōga refused to give him full control of the family business, Sesshomaru decided to start his own. He didn’t want to be associated with Inuyasha or Izayoi in any way. Thanks to Chiyo, Sesshomaru was able to create a successful business that didn’t revolve around criminal activity and increased his wealth. Soon, he’d have an empire. That doesn’t mean he’s not going to leave an impression on the underworld, just in case they get any ideas.
INUYASHA
Inuyasha comes from nothing and was raised by his single mother. Due to Izayoi’s pregnancy out of wedlock, she lost her high status and was exiled. They didn’t have much but his mother still managed to spoil him rotten with love and attention. She’d set aside money to buy him toys and treat him with nice things so he didn’t feel like he was missing out. The two of them were content even before Tōga came back into their lives.
When Tōga decided to have a life with the two of them, Inuyasha was elated! He finally had his father and his mom was happier now that he was around. Tōga went overboard giving Inuyasha whatever he wanted, always buying him more toys than he can play with and letting him do as he pleased regardless of his actions. Because of Tōga’s status Izayoi regained her noble status and Inuyasha was treated highly as well.
Now an adult, Inuyasha inherited the family business from Tōga! He’s more than confident that he has what it takes to run it but he lacks the necessary skills and knowledge to do so. Hence why Tōga expected Sesshomaru to help Inuyasha. Since his brother decided to work against him, Inuyasha was left to figure things out as he went. It was frustrating trying to learn every aspect of the criminal organization and what it entailed on spot, Tōga had no choice but to delay his retirement until Inuyasha was comfortable running the business alone.
BANKOTSU
Bankotsu grew up with his family very briefly before running off to have a life of his own. He wanted to find his passion and explore the world outside of his city. Along the way, Bankotsu had run into trouble plenty of times, usually running off before things would get worse. One particular occasion helped him discover his love of fighting. Having beaten a man, nearly to death, after being accused of cheating in a bet he felt a special high.
It soon led to him starting fights and challenging people to see if he’d come out on top. Once Bankotsu caught the eye of shady rich people it wasn’t long before he started taking contracts. Willing to beat anyone without hesitation no matter their age or gender, wanting nothing more than to fight someone. Although he was on track to becoming the most feared mercenary, Bankotsu was able to meet Jakotsu, who became a brother to him.
He’s currently the leader of the Shichinintai, the most lethal mercenaries in Japan. He’s acquired a vast amount of wealth but not status given that he’s feared by most, if not all, the nobles that hire him. They love to remind him that he’s only a pawn in their game but Bankotsu knows his worth since everyone fears him.
NARAKU
Naraku is from a middle-class family. They weren’t really notable, just another family. What set Naraku apart was his determination to rule the underworld. He didn’t want to work for someone and he didn’t want to waste his time at college either. He wanted money and power immediately. Using underhanded methods, Naraku created his own criminal organization. His charisma and manipulative tendencies were all it took turn most against each other, spreading death and betrayal.
He managed to scheme his way to the top of the criminal world but gained multiple enemies waiting to get revenge. That doesn’t bother Naraku one bit since he collected a vast amount of resources and wealth. Not to mention the political figures he has in his pocket. The last thing Naraku is worried about is some lowly gang trying to murder him. He can sleep just fine in his mansion fit for a king, knowing he pissed off a lot of dangerous people.
In order to expand his business, Naraku plotted to have Kikyo murdered considering she was the pesky special agent that managed to arrest a handful of his members. She was also the one to uncover his plans seemingly one step behind him, giving him no chance to get from under the FBI’s radar. So learning that the government’s favorite special agent was in love with Inuyasha, was enough to ruin her career and get her off of his scent. Though that didn’t stop Naraku from staging a horrific incident that left Kikyo in a coma for three weeks.
KIKYO
Kikyo was an ordinary girl that had a pretty humble life, she was the oldest sibling that was left to care for her sister since her parents passed. The town they lived in wasn’t the worst, the community was kind and looked out for each other. What made life difficult was the violence committed by upcoming gangs. Often stealing from the community, beating up civilians to get accepted into groups, peddling drugs to teens, and recruiting them.
That’s why Kikyo was determined to become a police officer. She wanted to protect her community and give them a sense of security after years of being surrounded by violence. She became one of the best officers on staff but was later switched over to the federal bureaucracy of investigation. Kikyo’s skills and intellect were best suited for monitoring organized criminal and domestic terrorism. She was on track to being a renowned agent for her success in toppling long-standing empires and decreasing the number of gangs, drug lords, and traffickers.
As she studied Inuyasha, the current head of a notorious criminal family, Kikyo’s distaste for him slowly became a crush. She’d go on dates with him under the guise of getting information out of him or end up having casual conversations that’d lead to tranquil walks around the park. Her emotions began to cloud her judgment, giving Naraku the perfect opportunity to get rid of her and that nuisance Inuyasha. It was wildly inappropriate to be falling in love with a gang leader which is why a swift termination followed shortly after their secret relationship was exposed.
Kikyo accepted it with grace and didn’t fight against the accusations since it was the truth. Before she could return to her regular life Naraku sent some goons to crash her car off a bridge, the injuries left her comatose for nearly four weeks. By the time she awakened Inuyasha was imprisoned for going on a rampage after news of her car crash. Not wanting to let her love for him ruin her life, Kikyo decided to move on and focus on finding a new career that’d suit her.
- How many kids would they want? + pregnancy head canons Ft. Inuyasha boys 💐
Inuyasha
- I would like to say none..
- canonically, he has a daughter. So I imagine that if he had kids it would’ve just..happened.
- that’s the case back then anyway because they didn’t have birth control and whatever else.
- when you become pregnant he’s a whole mix of emotions but dw he’ll settle on being happy.
- he’d be the type to be like “kids are sticky and gross.”
- he warms up to the idea when he sees you with kids
- it’s one and done though..he’s extra careful after having a kid. He loves them, but he’s not doing another.💀
Miroku
- oh my gosh
- you’d pop out more babies than a Victorian wife if he had the choice.
- he wants like 10.
- you tell him obviously you’re not gonna rip your body open to birth 10 kids.
- you settle on like 4 MAYBE 5.
- he’s so happy and very supportive during all of your pregnancies.
- now, many people may think he’d want only boys, but in reality he’s such a girl dad.
- “oh how scandalous” he gossips while sipping imaginary tea.
Sesshomaru
- uh oh.
- none. Idk how to tell you this.
- he’s like Inuyasha, if he has one, he’ll warm up to it, but he doesn’t really try for one.
- again he’s one and done. Like, he’s not exactly dad material, nobody say rin because he married her..
- I feel like he’d have a boy and he’d be exactly like sesshomaru
Naraku
- NONEEEEE
- he’d baby trap you if you’d try to leave, but only because he wants to manipulate you to stay, not because he wants kids.
-now, if that happened..
- he’d constantly ignore the kid, but maybe he’d warm up?..
- he’d also not have any other kids, he’s successfully manipulated you so why would he?
- you’d have to hold the kid and let them cry as they ask why dad doesn’t want to spend time with them.
- naraku hears this, and, in his own twisted way, yes he “loves” his kid. He just thinks of them more so as a commodity.
- so he takes them on a ‘mission’ and teaches them how to use his puppets and stuff.
- the kids ecstatic, naraku doesn’t have to do much work, it’s a win win.
- that’s all you’re getting though.
Kōga
- he’s a “however many you want” kind of guy.
- he adores his kids though.
- I think you prolly end up with like three. That fits him.
- two boys one girl. The girl being the youngest is how I picture it.
- overprotective girl dad obviously.
- teaches his sons how to hunt properly, dots on his daughter but teaches her how to fight with her brothers for self defense.
- if she ever gets a bf he’s fighting for her, actually.
- he likes when you wear clothes that show off your belly. He likes showing off how he “claimed” you.
- also in a “look at my beautiful, glowing wife” way.
- tells your belly how strong they’ll be.
Jinenji
- I love him.
- he cried and passed out when he found out you were pregnant, he didn’t know he could even have kids.
- now he wants a whole army, but secretly because he never voices his opinion on it. He thinks since you go through the pain, you have the absolute final say and you wouldn’t want that many kids anyway..
- he carries you everywhere. You’re never on your feet.
- his whole hand takes up your entire belly. So when the baby kicks around he’s watching and feeling with tears streaking down his face.
- he’s our lil sensitive king.
- he goes into serious overprotective mode. He’s checking all of the food that you eat, making sure every step doesn’t end up making you trip, making sure you rest up.
- prepares you little salted rose petal baths and just sits there watching you. The love in his eyes makes you melt every time you look over to glance at him.
- his mom goes crazy too. Giving you advice, old wives tales, etc.
- the best overall. Because he is.
