She doesn’t feel accomplished. Coming home didn’t fill her with a sense of relief. Kagome feels like a part of her is missing. A phantom sensation lingers, a cruel reminder of what she’s lost. She wonders if Sesshomaru felt the same after Inuyasha chopped off his arm. How did he manage the pain? How will she?

After wishing the Jewel out of existence, Kagome embarks on a path to healing. She decides to use her new skills to help others. Defeating Naraku was a challenge. Starting her clinic is harder, but she refuses to back down, especially when it comes to her latest patient: Sesshomaru.

Sneak Peak

Sesshoumaru anticipated raising pups would be challenging; he just hadn't expected his mate would give birth to three at once.

Twin rambunctious boys and a petite girl with her mother's penchant for trouble were, Sesshoumaru reflected, enough to test any saint's patience, and Hiroki, Takahiro, and Setsuna were more determined than most children to test his.

From climbing things not meant for climbing to finding hidey holes that even he didn't know existed, they always made sure to keep him and Kagome on their toes.

Once, while Inuyasha and his mate had been babysitting, they'd even managed to somehow find paint and paint nearly every surface they could reach in their home.

Granted, they could only reach about 85 centimetres off the ground, but the damage had been done regardless.

He took a moment to breathe deeply before he opened the front door, suitcase in hand, prepared for the onslaught of his young.

And for whatever shenanigans they got up to with Uncle Kouga and Uncle Inuyasha.

Sesshoumaru stepped inside to find his home eerily quiet.

Since Kagome was not yet home, that could only mean one thing: his young had gotten into more mischief.

Sesshoumaru pinched the bridge of his nose, dreading the mess he was sure to uncover upstairs.

He got halfway up the stairs before he saw it: toilet paper everywhere and one naked toddler suddenly streaking across the upstairs hallway in glee.

SessKag Fics

Until We Meet Again - Sesshōmaru writes a confession he’s waited five hundred years to make…in a love letter, nonetheless. This was the first fanfic I wrote after my decade-long hiatus from the Inuyasha fandom. So this vignette holds a special place in my heart ✍️ 💖

Promise to You - A story about cherished friendships, a mother’s redemption, a father’s undying love, and a forgotten promise, told in 100-words. This was a supposed to be a fun, side project, meant as a distractor from The Moon is Beautiful. It’s young SessKag as friends, and I didn’t think I’d enjoy writing chibi SessKag as much as I do. I’ve kind of neglected it a bit, but I’m determined to keep it going this year.

If You’re Lonely, Wake Me - Kagome gets snippets of an alternate life via dreams, each time it snows. My first fic submission for the 2020 SessKag Prompt Raffle Event. It’s my first major fic submission for any SessKag event, really. It’s also my first time writing a one-shot of this length (>11k words) in one sitting (as in not drabble). Lordt knows I struggle with words and grammar.

Sneak Peak

The tension was subtle, everyone's shoulders slightly stiff as Kagome served them, having started with Sesshoumaru, but Rin smiled nonetheless.

She didn't feel the least bit guilty when she said, "Kagome-sama, have you recovered fully?"

The tea Kagome was pouring faltered in her hands, splashing her fingers in the steaming hot brew.

"Uh," Kagome blinked as she stared at Rin. "Sort of?"

Kohaku had been reaching for Kagome's hands, but Sesshoumaru beat him to it, laying a cool cloth across her red fingers.

She blinked, having almost forgotten the burns in her desire to ensure her friends all had a wonderful evening—especially after Rin had let it drop that Sesshoumaru was feeling alone after Rin had gotten married.

"You should take more care of yourself." Sesshoumaru's words were soft but firm.

She looked to him, captivated by the emotion in his golden gaze. "So should you," she murmured.

"I do not go looking for trouble that causes injury to myself."

"I don't look for it," she huffed defensively. "It just finds me."

He raised a brow. "Perhaps you should have more awareness, miko, and you would not constantly tumble into trouble."

Rin bit the inside of her cheek, worried her plan was about to backfire. Then, Kagome laughed and said, "You might be right."

Rey and Kylo go on a double date to Earth with Finn and Poe for the opening night of the new Star Wars movie. Chaos ensues when the Force users start to read the thoughts of the other movie-goers. ---------------------- “I’d like to summon his lightsaber, if you know what I mean,” the third mother winks to the group, drawing Rey and Kylo's attention. The group of older women break into laughs, while their daughters stare at one another quizzically.

Rey feels her cheeks erupt into a scarlet blush. Next to her, the object of their conversation is wearing a rather smug grin.

“At least someone appreciates me.” ---------------------- Just a fun little one-shot to hold us over before TLJ.
