@moonandwind exactly Rin and Kohaku would've had to best growth into a relationship. They always worried about each other. Even Rin openly worried about Kohaku. And they relate to each other. Imagine Rin and Kohaku, who both lost their families tragically, come together and rebuild the family they lost.

And you so right that's literally all she is. They did her so wrong.

Why don’t more people ship Kohaku and Rin??? I’ve always found this ship very cute.

Some SessRinners say that Rin deserves “better” than Kohaku… I don’t know what they’re referring to, when they say that she deserves “better”, because if for them the most important thing is the physical aspect, surely Sesshomaru is more handsome than Kohaku but if they consider the character and personality, Sesshomaru is absolutely NOT better than Kohaku!!! We see in the manga and anime that Kohaku always acted kind to Rin, except when he was under Naraku’s control, and if she was in danger, he always protected her.

Here you can see Kohaku shielding with his body to protect Rin. 

So I don’t know what they rely on to say that Sesshomaru is a better husband for Rin, I’m convinced for example that Kohaku wouldn’t have ignored her without saying a word as soon as she gave birth like Sesshomaru did. I have the feeling that Sesshomaru’s good looks prevent them to see his flaws…

Rin also seems to have a genuine affection towards Kohaku.

So I don’t understand why many didn’t see this ship, of two children on good terms almost the same age, much more logical…

…instead of this one when they watched Inuyasha…

They even say that they see Kohaku as a brother for Rin… okay, but y’all have to tell me why Kohaku can be considered as a family for Rin while Sesshomaru not!!! 🙄

But anyway, certainly everyone has their own preferences, but the objective fact is that KohaRin as a couple would have been much more morally correct to show in an anime also watched by kids, instead of showing a 12-year-old girl being courted by her guardian who is waiting for her to “grow up”.

Wait a minute... O.o if it's SessRin, it's usually some sort of pedo allegations or something. Or you know .. the ol' ship war.. usually vs SessKagu or KohakuRin. No offense to them, all ships are valid and all fiction is just fiction after all.

Actually, I haven't been very invested in Inuyasha since 2010(?) when this blog was a InuKag, Inukik, and Narkik blog . but let me write a defend post for them since many attacks towards SessRin are from salty purists who cannot differentiate fiction from reality. And

I understand that reading comprehension has been very poor in the west, ppl keep bringing modern human moral standard to a story where the setting takes place in the feudal era or the fantasy era where many other races besides human exist soo...

Let the SessRin haters know that Sesshomaru is literally a dog demon so not only modern moral standards do not apply to him, it also does not exist because in feudal Japan, peasants usually marry as young as 16 y.o. (and Yashahime confirmed she marries him when she's an adult)

(don't get me talking about father-daughter relationship, grooming accusations and power balance because none of them are true at all. Especially when Sesshomaru never fed Rin, he told her to look food for herself. Parental figure PROVIDE basic needs for their child. Sesshomaru did not. They are just travelling companions who happened to saved each other before.)

Roasting SessRin over pedo debate is also useless because by the same logic, almost all Inuyasha ships are minor x adult , including InuKag, Inukik, Narkik , SessKago and even SessKagura (Inuyasha is 15 yo mentally but physically he is 150 yo. Anyway, Inuyasha is also a demon, modern moral does not apply to them)

(Inuyasha's age is confirmed in Inuyasha the Movie 3 where he was born in 1347. Sengoku-jidai aka the Japan warring period is the 15th century, 1543-1553)

Yes you did not read that wrong. Kagura is YOUNGER than Rin, literally! Kagura was created as Naraku's second incarnation AFTER Naraku gained the shikon no tama shards, which was originally in Kagome's body. Naraku waited 50 years after Kikyo's death for this power. So, Kagura is a one year old baby

Unironically InuKag InuKik and SessKagu and the rest are still valid ships despite the pedo-element because this is a story about demons who live in fantasy feudal era. And the most important point is, this is just a cartoon , no actual child or human is involved lmao

Sneak Peak

The tension was subtle, everyone's shoulders slightly stiff as Kagome served them, having started with Sesshoumaru, but Rin smiled nonetheless.

She didn't feel the least bit guilty when she said, "Kagome-sama, have you recovered fully?"

The tea Kagome was pouring faltered in her hands, splashing her fingers in the steaming hot brew.

"Uh," Kagome blinked as she stared at Rin. "Sort of?"

Kohaku had been reaching for Kagome's hands, but Sesshoumaru beat him to it, laying a cool cloth across her red fingers.

She blinked, having almost forgotten the burns in her desire to ensure her friends all had a wonderful evening—especially after Rin had let it drop that Sesshoumaru was feeling alone after Rin had gotten married.

"You should take more care of yourself." Sesshoumaru's words were soft but firm.

She looked to him, captivated by the emotion in his golden gaze. "So should you," she murmured.

"I do not go looking for trouble that causes injury to myself."

"I don't look for it," she huffed defensively. "It just finds me."

He raised a brow. "Perhaps you should have more awareness, miko, and you would not constantly tumble into trouble."

Rin bit the inside of her cheek, worried her plan was about to backfire. Then, Kagome laughed and said, "You might be right."

"..That is quite a walk, Rin. Do you realize how far you have walked? What if something had happened?" Kikyou gently touched her cheek, as she did one last examination to ensure nothing visible or invisible was clinging onto her. She could not help but worry.

Fortunately, it did not seem like she was injured or harmed in any way.

"..." How could she tell the young girl that..that village was no longer her home?

Her gaze softened as she gently wiped some dirt from her cheek. "Perhaps just a day or two before I need to go. I promised, did I not, that I will visit as much as I can."

"Of course I'm alright Kikyou-sama. I just wanted to go on a walk!" Rin said, smiling like she was merely commenting on the weather and not fully realizing that she had wandered about an hour away from the safety of the village.

"What about you though, you're headed home right? Does this mean you'll be staying a while this time?" her eyes lit up just at the thought.

So, if I can ask ... What is your opinion about the possible couple that Rin and Kohaku make? I really liked your opinion about the shipp of Sesshomaru and Kagome, now I would like to know what you think about Kohaku and Rin as potential shipp

I think that Kohaku would probably be the only human Sesshomaru would see as worthy of Rin.

Because Kohaku might have been controlled by Naraku for a long time but he also shows an impressive amount of fortitude and personal honor when given the chance.  He’s also a rather skilled warrior for his age and is, overall, a gentle boy.

Kohaku wouldn’t crush the spirit or the kindness out of Rin like a lot of other men in that era would try to.  Sesshomaru would be assured of his loyalty to Rin as well.

And for Rin I think she’d see his quietness, his obvious honor, and his gentleness as a nod to her Sesshomaru-sama because Sesshomaru has always been all three of those things to/around her as far as Rin’s concerned. So that would be a major point in Kohaku’s favor.

Maybe It’s Time (Flashfic / KoHakuRin)

Soft but steady steps marched on the hard ground, towards the village right ahead, eyes locked on the place. It had been...two moons perhaps since he left it, having gone on a mission just like many other times before that.

The gates opened as soon as the guard’s eyes set on him, welcoming him with a smile which although not returned -and many were used to it-, it was acknowledged with a nod. The man announced his arrival as Hakudoshi crossed the entrance and the gate slowly closed behind; he adjusted the bag hanging from his shoulder. 

Welcome words reached his ears and once more acknowledged with either a nod or a short and quick raise of hand. Violet eyes already searching for the faces that really mattered to him in that place. He spotted Setsuna cleaning her naginata and Hisui brushing Kirara’s fur. It wasn’t long until he saw one of the people he had been looking for and none other than the leader of the place.

❝ Welcome back! ❞ Hakudoshi barely had time to answer, Kohaku pulled him into a quick but affectionate hug; he was used to it and knew the human man was more...open to showing affections in public even if they were something quick and small like the current hug he was receiving. And there was no need to hide the relationship, pretty much everyone in this village was aware of the nature of it.

As soon as Kohaku released him from the embrace, one of Hakudoshi’s hands moved and grabbed the man’s, squeezing it softly. Kohaku knew that was how his partner choose to show affection in public; he was more open to it when they were inside their hut. A smile finally broke through the neutral, stoic expression that Hakudoshi wore most of the time and the usually cold violet eyes gained a soft warmth ❝ It is good to be back. ❞ he responded. The two had only taken a couple of steps towards the hut when Hakudoshi felt the impact of a body colliding into his own.

He didn’t need to look right away to know who it was. He recognized the touch; his smile spread further open, a smile that was only reserved to those he had come to care about. With his free arm, Hakudoshi wrapped it around Rin’s waist looking down at the same time she raised her head ❝ Welcome home! ❞

Home. No matter how many years had now gone by, to him it still felt strange to hear that word. But it was true, a demon like himself, a former incarnation of one of the most evil creatures that had stepped in Japan, had found a home...and love among two humans. Sometimes it felt unreal but then he would wake up and realize it was true.

These were the times he was glad that he had chosen to pursue a different path after being brought back to life.

Only after entering their hut did Hakudoshi allow himself to show the affection to both his lovers. A soft kiss planted on their lips -the memory of the first time they showed him this kind of affection still fresh in his mind; it had been...awkward to him but funny to them-, a hug and an occasional cuddle. ❝ Where are the children? ❞ he asked upon realizing the hut was very...quiet and that he hadn’t seen them running around the village either. Sitting down on the wooden floor, Hakudoshi opened his bag and began removing the things he had brought.

❝ They all went out for a walk in the forest with Towa, she came to visit yesterday. ❞ Rin was the one to answered, stirring the food she had been cooking inside the pot, the soft flames flickering underneath it ❝ They should be back any minute...I hope, the food is almost done. ❞ Hakudoshi chuckled lightly, he knew Rin liked to have all of the children back home by lunch or dinner time. But he also didn’t blame the children for wanting to spend as much time in the forest, they liked to explore and they liked adventures. All of them.

❝ They are back. ❞ Kohaku announced, peeking through the door he usually left open during the day. His brown eyes watched attentively as the children crossed the gates alongside Towa and then ran towards the house, the youngest of them not being able to run as fast as the others just yet ❝ Alright, alright children, look who is back. ❞ the leader of the Demon Slayers pointed to the inside of the house as soon as the children arrived, three heads peeked inside with their big curious eyes before they lit up in joy.

❝ Haku!! ❞ Hakudoshi rarely allowed his name to be shortened to ‘Haku’ but with the children...well he allowed it mostly because of who they were. Kohaku and Rin’s children to be exact: Uri, Nadeshiko and Shinju. The three children leaped inside the house before jumping onto the white haired demon. 

Hakudoshi smiled, answering their multiple questions as they hung over his shoulders or sat on his lap, his attention fully on them until a small, younger voice interrupted.

❝ Papa! ❞ his head raised, violet eyes setting on the smaller figure that had just arrived the house. Messy dark hair, with a slight purple hue mixed, caught up in a bun, pale skin and violet eyes very much like his own but more...brighter and lively, and of course the flower adorning one side of her head. ❝ You are back! ❞ the young girl’s face lit up, big smile forming as she followed the same steps of her siblings and jumped towards Hakudoshi, small arms wrapped around his neck. As soon as the other children released his arms, the white haired demon wrapped his own arms around her. He admitted, hugs were not his thing but for his daughter...well he opened an exception of course, especially after not seeing her for two months.

❝ You are not leaving again, are you Papa?! ❞ the question caught him off guard as did Sumire’s pout when he didn’t answer right away ❝ You are staying right..? ❞ this one came out more hesitant, Hakudoshi noticed the change on Rin’s and Kohaku’s expressions as if they were ready to intervene should Sumire continue with the questions. Only then did it hit the demon...how he had failed to notice that his child missed him this much. 

Ever since he had been brought back to life and after getting his training as a Demon Slayer complete, Hakudoshi had always left on several solo missions, sometimes for large periods of time and others for shorter. And it continued so even after he established his relationship with Kohaku and Rin. It hadn’t crossed his mind, however, that they might miss him this much.

Maybe it’s time he stopped going on these solo missions, maybe it’s time he settled down and worked alongside the remaining Demon Slayers from the village. It had only hit him now, he was missing a good portion of the children growing, of his own daughter. 

❝ Sumire.. ❞ Rin’s voice brought Hakudoshi back to reality, his violet eyes setting back on the little girl in front of him; he noticed the tears forming on her own violet eyes and the pout increasing at his lack of response. Rin moved but Hakudoshi moved faster, a pale hand reaching and brushing away the tears.

 ❝ I am not going anywhere for a long time. ❞ 

Sumire’s eyes widened slightly, she...had expected an answer going the opposite way ❝ Really?! ❞ the white haired demon nodded, he wouldn’t lie to her, lying wasn’t something he was particularly fond of. 

Once again Sumire hugged him tight. The other three children joined it too. Looking at it now, Hakudoshi didn’t understand why he hadn’t made this decision sooner, why hadn’t he choose to stay for good before?

Perhaps a part of him still believed that all this, the family, the love...were all a dream...but he didn’t care anymore. 

Dream or not, he was going to stay.

Kagome’s family??? idk???? it’s just??? weird they are like “yo daughter, just go live in another era forever, marrying your demon bf, we’re happy” ???? I mean it’s cool, but it’s kinda... ???? What???

Ship # 33: Kohaku & Rin

Why Them: Cause they're cute! And come on! Sessie is way to old for her! (Guess it's not a valid argument since he's way older then Kikyo but...w/e). Anyway, I don't think this ship is a cracked as my last two. They're actually on friendly terms and Kohaku has always protected her, even against himself when Naraku ordered him to kill her.

Canon or Crack: Crack I suppose but could easily not be since Rin is no longer traveling with Sess and Kohaku isn't dead. It's got a chance.

Favorite Moment: The ep when Kohaku protects her from the hoardes of Demons and tells her to escape. They're just so cute! And she was all worried about him :)

Song: Meh...can't think of any. Ohh...but when I do it might be angsty cause it will probably relate to sess/rin/kohaku
