Okay, I said previously I’d make a post about Mary and John in the Lost Carnival book.

Well, here’s some key moments I found the most interesting and memorable from that book, a further showcasing how close knit of a family the Flying Graysons 1.0 are, no matter which DCU they inhabit

Amazing Acrobats As Per Usual, to the point even Dick (in fairness in this elseworld he’s a teen that’s been performing for a long time with his family) can say it’s boring lol

John catching up with his son after a small incident, part of the larger story of course, making sure he’s alright

This scene ……Oh Me Oh My…Dear God, X’hal and Rao gosh I love this scene so freaking much. Mary being there to comfort her boy and giving life advice (Granted sure it’s an elseworld so meaning it’s not Kory being involved sadly though I state had it been Kory, this advice would still be there. Mary seems like that kind of Mom ya know?)

And finally, these respecting their son’s choices with his life at this story, sure maybe entering college is drastically different from say being a colorful costume clad crime fighter he is canonically but I’m sure Mary and John will be able to respect that one way or another had they been present.

Gosh, I swear these two were such a highlight in this book, it even makes me pardon the fact that romance here isn’t with Kory. Oh well though, I take what I can get lol

I do not take requests for writing (short stories, headcanons, reacts, scenarios and the like), though paid commissions are negotiable! Creative writing is quite a personal and subjective thing for me, so I tend to be selective as I want to ensure that I have enough inspiration and fun while writing in order to deliver a quality product. When requesting/commissioning a translation, please be aware of the following: ☽ Please provide the source materials which you would like to have translated. I do not have the financial means nor the time to personally buy all of the drama CDs or tokuten for all 13 characters, for example, so if you want something translated: please include a link to the source materials. These could be links to audio files on SoundCloud and BiliBili, or links to Tumblr posts with scans of short stories or interviews and the like. ☽ In all cases, it is your own responsibility to ensure that the source materials—particularly fan-made artwork and scans—have been acquired with full permission from the original poster. A while back you made a post talking about yakumo and his sensitivity to temperature and I haven't stopped thinking about it. imagine when winter comes around and yakumo becomes progressively sluggish, usually staying in the kitchen and not leaving for hours, always making something near the stove to feel a little warmth from the flames or from a little taste of the things he's making (soup probably), or him picking up the habit of bundling himself up and staying in the library to read and nap. maybe when it starts getting even colder he barely leaves his room because its too uncomfortably cold for him, and if he does he's probably looking for eiden to help him warm up, but if eidens not around he gets antsy and looks for somebody else in the mansion, but he's too shy to ask and looks at whoever with his wet eyes so they know he's cold and wants a cuddle

Top 5 fave Dick, Mary, and John Grayson family moments?

Funnily enough there’s so many moments I can think off yet ironically so little moments overall involving those three that don’t involve Mary and John doing that fateful performance at Gotham canonically lol

Here’s some Flying Grayson 1.0 moments that stand out for me the most

While this moment will most definitely not save Taylor’s writing at all, it’s still a nice one (Nightwing Vol 4, #83)

That’s actually sound advice Mary, boosting your son’s confidence while tampering with the fact he can be too ambitions for his own good

To think this one photo op will set both Dick and Tim(my)’s going forward in a path that makes them both heroes for the innocents of Gotham to be inspired by yet also names the criminal underground fears…all because Janet wants to make sure her baby boy had a fun day at the Circus

Really nothing else to say much here though I guess Dick might be either at a tender younger age or Mary just likes saying that to him cause that’s how Moms are like. Even over a great height, she can’t help but baby him a bit despite probably no doubt Dick going in his head, “Not a Baby, Mom”

Really these guys’ entire dynamic summarized in a nutshell. Mary can only lose count of the many times when her husband and little boy taken all sorts of risks, whether on or off the ropes, and she can count pretty high. But damn it all, she love her two favorites no matter what.

Plus even this is further evidence of Dick being just a baby faced menace of a kid; good heart and soul yet he laughs and beams in the face of danger. He welcomes it if anything
