Dwarves headcanon... because why not?
So, I know that lots of people see dwarves-women as bearded but, when I was young and after reading other books than LOTR, my vision of the dwarves-women were "not bearded". I am trying to reconcile both but... it does not work very well...
Until this...
So, we know that there are far less dwarves-women than dwarves-men. And we also know that, either they're not interested in getting together or once they fell for a companion, it's for life.
So, what if, the few dwarves-women are wearing "fake" beard? Wait before jumping on me, wait. Listen. What if, they are very similar to their male counterpart and so, to avoid unwanted attention, they wear those "beards".
More than that. What if those beards are made with real hair from their male relatives and it is one of the duty of the male of the can to give their hair and help her. Those fake beards are classy, braided with pealrs and things (and there you tell me what's the point? well, all dwarves have very well groomed beard so the fake beard must be Class A).
More than that, the degree of attention given to those beard, by the male relative can even be a proof of how well they could take care of their companion.
I just imagine, all those dude, cutting their hair, working together, making those awesome fake beard.
So, yeah. That's my headcanon.

i love how Gandalf invested in Hobbits in year one and has been pushing them ever since. Thorin, i hear you need help with a breaking and entering. Can I recommend one of these little cunts? Silent as fuck, trust me. Elrond my dude i know you're skeptical but these four chucklefucks just transported a weapon of mass destruction all the way here. Theoden, you've gotta get yourself a hobbit man, I've got a spare one here. Denathor you big prick, take a hobbit - literally this is the bottom of the range but listen to him sing. Beautiful little bastard.

i'm a writer irl (can't say who because my agent would rightfully put me into a blender and press the button if i go and out myself as "balrogballs") and honestly the funniest and most humiliating incident of my life was the time my finished manuscript triggered a plagiarism flag with the publisher for two lines of prose in my literary fiction novel...
.... which was word for word similar to a paragraph in a certain explicit work on FFN starring elrond and his batsman from the hobbit films, aka that one elf that looked like he ate panic attacks for breakfast (i forget his name but it's Figwit II) where the lord of imladris bends said twink over his writing desk and gives him the battering ram treatment.
and if you think i had to sit in front of one if the biggest publishing companies in the world and admit that it was, in fact, me who wrote the fic where the lord of imladris bends said twink over his writing desk and gives him the battering ram treatment in order to avoid being wrongly flagged for plagiarism, you would be absolutely correct.
(yes they published the book)

Thinking of the larger context of LOTR and like, the fellowship swapping old war stories and shit and Sam just says “Yeah I killed a huge spider…Shelob, I think?”
And Gandalf just blinks and is like, “You what now?”
“Yeah, killed it. Had to save Frodo”
Gandalf elects not to tell Sam that he killed the spawn of a primordial demon.
