DM: I'm a little worried this campaign will be boring narratively, since it's really just a long dungeon crawl

Me: Not to worry, here is my character Reginald the flamboyant asshole wizard who is going to turn everything into an object lesson and will be constantly monolog. I am going to describe his spells in excruciating detail. Feel free to tell me to stop if this gets annoying.

we've been catching up on riverdale this week and just. what a show

Regulus never cried. except this one time. he let out one, singular tear. it was right after he got the dark mark. it was just this one tear. but it meant everything. the years of abuse from his and Sirius' mother. when Sirius left. when he and James got into an argument and the boy didn't talk to him. all of it in this one tear. because from this moment on, he lost all the hope of his life getting better, and he finally let himself grieve the child he never got to be.

Fic prompt for Reginald: He's a teacher Garreg Mach. Idk what his emblem is. What does he teach? I want to see him monologue at the students. Staff. At the front of the chapel during the service, hogging the stage before Rhea steps forward to do her sermon. from Rhea when she's waiting to do her sermon. In the dining hall, going on about the importance of persimmons or something.

This is a phenomenal prompt because Reginald is canonically a former professor and researcher of antique magical artifacts whose monologing skills were indeed honed at the podia of lecture halls and to the tears of scores of undergrads.

He would definitely teach something magic related, but I want to think it's somewhere on the archeology and field-work end of the scale. He doesn't shy away from going out on missions for the Church on occasion (Seteth and Flayn's paralogue comes to mind as something up his alley), but he maintains a very VERY firm boundary that he is NOT faculty or an employee, he is a Visiting Scholar(tm), thank you very much. In fact, he would feel right at home in front of Rhea as if he sees it like a birthright or something.

He gets along well enough with Hanneman, but treats him with a certain coldness because Reginald sees him as a bit of a rival and also is jealous he managed to actually escape nobility for the sake of Science(tm). (They definitely have route-dependant paired endings, but I can't decide what they would be...) He frequently haggles over rare good with Anna, and she has never once succeeded in swindling him by any definition of the word.

In this universe, House Amaungette would be a moderately sized territory in the Empire near the Ordelia-Hrym border. (Being from that region is what gives him this learned sense of self-importance as a noble.) They are an offshoot of House Gloucester, so Reginald bears that crest, but it's only a minor crest.

riverdale season 4: the daddy issues season

okay so i saw one of those "you could live a 100 lifetimes…"/"and never deserve that boy," and on the first slide it was lily, sirius, regulus, and peter, and on the second, it was just james. and ppl in the comments were getting so pressed that lily and sirius (The Good Guys) were getting grouped in with reg and peter (The Evil Ones). but like, the point of that line is not to say that sirius and lily (or even reg and peter) are bad people and that’s why they don’t deserve someone like james.

the original meaning of the line in thg, at least to me, is about katniss’s feelings of inadaquacy, and her and haymitch being cut from the same cloth of bitterness and pain, while peeta has (somehow, miraculously) maintained an optimism and a steadfast focus on the ones he loves. it’s a goodness that katniss (and haymitch) feel like she can never match, but despite her feelings of inadequacy, peeta loves her entirely without reservation.

the op of that post was not saying that sirius/lily/reg/peter do not in actuality deserve james, they were saying that they all have a darkness within them that makes them feel like they won’t ever deserve him. okay?
