My mum made and gifted me this incredible hand-knitted poncho with FISH ON IT!!!!!! The little waves and the bubbles I can’t handle it… She spent easily 100+ hours on it and before this had only made a few scarves, absolutely incredible and I’m excited to wear it everywhere I go now 💚🐠💛

I hope all new fiber artists know that the "slightly misshapen" object they made that they're stressed about not looking good:

1. Happens to every fiber artist always, you're too zoomed in to its every detail because you're the one who made it and most people would think it looks normal, or at least much less misshapen than you do, stand 20ft away from it and look at it and then see how you feel (true about all art tbh)

2. Gets better and more uniform each time you do anything

and the *very most important*:

3. Can be made Significantly Less Misshapen by just grabbing the fabric and stretching it in a few directions

I keep helping new fiber artists who are like "but my thing looks so bad :(((" by like, taking their object and stretching it sideways and horizontal, and handing it back, and they're like "????? Magic?????" bc it looks perfect.

Trust the process. Trust the stretchy process

Trying fair isle knitting for the first time, and I think it is coming along quite nicely

So we all know about Solas taking Lavellan straight to thigh ride town when he first kisses her back (yeah, yeah his time knife, we've all seen it)

But did we also know that Lavellan fully has him by the collar, leg lifted, and is pulling him down herself? She probably would have gotten even further if he hadn't pulled back so quickly...

It's even funnier when you can see his hands that they didn't animate, so he looks fully taken by surprise and like he doesn't know what to do with himself.

tommy getting cozy on that couch with the tiny blanket, feet uncovered

sleepy voice as he listens to buck tell the story of billy boils, while he barely clings to consciousness, he still recognizes when buck says the same thing twice

and then the next morning he lets buck sleep in while he prepares breakfast in bed armchair for him

and as buck wakes up, sits up and takes off his hood we can see another blanket on the couch that wasn't there the night before... looks like someone got up during the night and saw his boyfriend covered with the tiniest blanket in the world and got him a second one 🥰

You! Internalize that you do not always need to "improve your art/craft" now! It's great to learn and develop your skills, but you do not need to come from a place of hating where you are now! You certainly do not need to force yourself to improve if it is coming in between you and enjoying the things you do. Improvement for improvements sake does not have to be the only goal, nor the only one that "should matter"

You are allowed to have motifs, enjoyment, ameturism, and "less skill." Kill and devour the capitalist in your head that dictates that you must always improve for everybody else's sake and your "productivity."
