Part 3

Hudson turned his attention to you. The question caught him a little off guard. A moment ago he was helping Eli with his store, putting some more storage boxes in the attic since the sales were going super well. And now he’s here, staring at you who just threw a very seriously question at him. It wasn’t even funny if that’s what you were trying to be. You really aren’t. ‘What exactly did I do to have this question thrown at me?’ Your shrug only made him groan. Seriously? He sighed, rubbing his eyes before placing his hands on your hips. His eyes were still as determined and stoic as ever. ‘Come on! Answer my question. I’m curious.’ Another sigh escaped Hudson’s lips. Your insistence to this hypothetical question made him smirk a bit although he soon regained his composure. ‘Is that a smile that i see?’ ‘No.’ ‘Come onnnnnnn’ Hudson sighed for the 3rd time this time and takes a breath. He didn’t need a moment to think about it, he already made up his mind to your question. ‘I would ask Master Taesoo for advice.’ ‘That’s the most Hudson answer ever.’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Booooo!!!!! Be original!’

The only thing you got from him was a glance before he went back to cutting up his snake. How does he even deal with you? You always ask stupid question. And all of them would never even happen to begin with. They’re pointless. Has he ever told you that?…probably. At least that’s what he thinks. Your attempt at the jokes didn’t even reach him at all, he seemed unimpressed even. His hand grabbed the knife in his hand and little tighter. He doesn’t care….yes. Yes he doesn’t. He wouldn’t care if you liked someone else. He wouldn’t. HAK. The blade cut the dead snake’s head off perfectly, it even got stuck in the wood piece he was cutting the snake on. You could hear some faint yet heavy breaths before he turned to you. His eyes looking into yours while he got on your level, crouching down slightly. ‘Do not ask me such trivial questions.’ His voice was monotone, but the slightly dangerous edge was still present. His gaze remained on you, and yours on his. He knows that look of yours. An even more annoying one than if you asks stupid questions. You’re challenging him. ‘Please.’ The words make him scoff at you. Was he not being clear enough? ‘Hypothetically speaking?’ Your pleading only made him sigh in exhaustion. He stood up straight again, taking one final look at you before turning away again. His back facing you while the sound of him chopping up the snake filled your ears. After a few chops there was a slight pause. ‘They would end up like this snake.’ The answers was simple. Yet also kind of disturbing. But that’s the kind of man Taesoo Ma is.

‘Y/Nnnnnnnnnnnnn!’ Despite the fact that Vasco looked very intimidating and scary, he was a kind soul at heart. Having a great sense of justice and often helping those in need or just out of kindness for others. He was a sweetheart with a menacing look. Isn’t that just convenient? Vasco was currently training with Burn knuckles. That was until he spotted you, his girlfriend. Jayce always found it hilarious how Vasco turned into a love sick puppy every time you showed up, his demeanor would change and he’d drop everything just to see you. Vasco sat with you further from the place Burn knuckled was training at, he knew that you preferred to talk to him one on one. He hasn’t forgotten. Although the whole point is to talk in private, the members of Burn knuckles was just a few meters behind the two of you. Eaves dropping. ‘What would you do if i liked someone else Vasco?’ The question made his smile drop slightly, he hadn’t thought about that before. Never. But now that you asked him and he has to think about it, he seems to have an a answer pretty fast. Faster than you expected. Vasco had never been good with girls. So it doesn’t surprise him that you might like someone else. It seems logical to him, yeah. Yeah, it does. ‘As long as they treat you well, and they love you. Then i think i would be happy for you Y/N’ the answer made you hug him. It was a genuine answer. And it sounds like such a Vasco thing to say too. ‘If i ever leave you for someone else you can let Jayce hit me.’ ‘Jayce doesn’t hit girls.’

Jerry was practicing his flute when you came into Big deal’s hideout. The sound of the flute died down when his eyed landed on you, the reason for his practice was half because of Jake’s encouragement and the other half for you. He had been trying to make a song with his flute for you. You’re his forst ever girlfriend and he wants to make it special for you!…that was until you asked him that question. It made him humming for a moment, his eyes closing and the flute tapping his chin. ‘If it’s Jake then I accept it.’ That made you raise an eyebrow. You knew he was very loyal to Jake, often even putting him above himself and going to the ends of the world for him. Where Jake was, Jerry followed. It was a mutual friendship between the two and in honesty very cute that the term of friendship is appreciated so much. But you didn’t like Jake that way. You saw him like everyone else in Big Deal, Like a bigger brother. ‘I don’t like Jake like that. He’s not my type. And he’s like my brother. But what if it was someone else! Answer!’ You told Jerry your eyes beaming with interested and curiosity, Jerry blinked at your interest and closed his eyes again, thinking. ‘I would beat them up. With Jake’s permission’ The moment he said that a few voices excitedly agreed with him, turning your attention away from Jerry there was Big Deal. Only missing Jake. But that didn’t take away that they would all participate in the beating of the hypothetical other person.

The celebration at Gapryong Kim's mansion was in full swing,the occasion was significant - his birthday - the air thick with laughter, clinking glasses, and the warm glow of camaraderie. The adults, slightly tipsy and buoyed by nostalgia, sat around the large dining table and in clusters throughout the spacious living room.

Jake, with his boundless energy and cheerful demeanor, was busy running around the garden, making jokes and laughing. Jerry, more reserved and stoic, watched his friends with a calm smile, while you, being a bit moody yet generally happy, played nearby. Gitae, Gapryon’s oldest son, sat on the steps, brooding and occasionally rolling his eyes at the younger kids' antics. He was in that difficult transitional age where he felt misunderstood and often annoyed by everyone around him.

Inside the mansion, Gapryon and his right-hand men, Jinyong Park, Baekho Kwon, and other members of Gapryong's fist enjoyed the party. Gapryong, a fierce yet caring leader, laughed heartily with his friends, while Jinyong kept an eye on whole buster - trying to mesmorise warm moments with his dearest friends.

Suddenly, the door to the grand room burst open, and you ran in, tears streaming down your face. The room fell silent as you launched yourself into your father’s arms, sobbing.

"Daddy! Daddy!" - you cried, clutching Jinyong’s shirt tightly. - "Jake is threatening my life!"

The adults in the room exchanged confused glances. Jake, the sunny and optimistic boy, threatening someone? It seemed impossible. Moments later, Jake stumbled into the room, his face flushed and red as a tomato. His heart raced with a mix of embarrassment and panic, as he feared what you might say. - "I'm not threatening her life!" he exclaimed, clearly flustered. The room erupted in confusion at the sight of the two young children so passionately arguing. Jinyong petted your hair gently, trying to soothe you.

"What happened, sweetheart?" - he asked softly. You wiped your tears and took a deep breath, ready to present your case. - "Daddy, Jake said he wants to MARRY ME! Can you imagine?!"

Laughter filled the room as Jake, embarrassed and blushing even harder, protested, - "No, I don't!"

"Yes, you do!" - you insisted, sticking your tongue out and pointing at him with your finger. But Jake kept arguing and room filled with child's screams of "Yes" and "No"

"I'm gonna marry only my daddy!"

Gapryong, who loved you as his own child, chuckled and decided to tease you a bit. - "But doesn’t your dad already marry your mother, huh?"

You froze, shock and confusion crossing your face as you turned to look at your father, your eyes welling up with fresh tears. Gripping his shirt tightly, you asked, - "Daddy?... Is that true?" - Jinyong, trying to contain his laughter, nodded. - "You know, baby, your mother still needs a husband, right?"

"Traitor! Daddy is a traitor!" you declared dramatically, eliciting more laughter from the adults. Jake watched you, feeling a pang of resentment and a deeper, unspoken feeling. He had a childish crush on you, and though he didn't fully understand it, he knew he liked you a lot. The idea of marrying you seemed natural to him, even if he was too young to grasp its full meaning. Determined and full of childish resolve, you slid off your father’s lap and marched over to Gapryong. "Then... then..." - you stammered, trying to form your next plan. Gapryong, enjoying the moment, leaned down to your level. - "Then what, little one?" - he asked with a warm smile.

"Then I'll marry... Uncle Gapryong!" - you announced, much to the amusement of everyone present. Gapryong laughed heartily and scooped you up in his arms. - "Well, I'm married as well! And I’m afraid I’m too old for you, sweetheart."

As everyone in the room tried to hold back their laughter, you pouted, realizing your grand declaration might not work out as planned. But the genuine affection and warmth from your family made the moment one to remember. Jake, still blushing, sighed with relief and muttered to his father, - "See? I wasn't threatening her life..."

The room erupted in laughter again, the adults and children alike sharing in the joy and absurdity of the moment, making it a birthday celebration to remember. Just as the laughter began to die down, Gapryong, still smiling, said, - "How about Jake anyway, huh?"

You shook your head vigorously. - "NO!! Uncle Gapryong, don't you understand that Jake spends all his time with Jerry! And they're always hugging!" - You crossed your arms defiantly, misinterpreting their fights as affectionate embraces - "I don't want my husband to hug someone else!" - More laughter filled the room, but you remained serious, big tears still streaming down your cheeks. You jumped off Gapryong's lap, desperately looking for a solution. Your eyes landed on Gitae, who was brooding in the corner of the room. With sudden determination, you ran to him and clung to his neck.

"Then I'm gonna marry brother Gitae!" - you announced with a bright, triumphant smile. It seems that a clear vein of discontent appeared on your father’s forehead and with an innocent smile the glass in his bare hand burst with a crash.

Gitae, caught off guard and visibly annoyed, was about to complain, but you turned to him with the most serious face, as if you were already an adult. - "One wrong word and I will say that I saw how you smoked this morning." - Gitae swallowed hard. It wasn't that he was scared of his mother's reprimands about smoking, but he simply nodded, not wanting to cause more drama. - "Whatever, kid," - he muttered.

Jinyong, not a big fan of Gitae, still with his eyes closed and that innocent smile said, - "I will apply for divorce next morning, hun. Come back to daddy."

The adults had announced their departure a thousand times, each attempt to leave thwarted by another round of drinks, another shared memory, or another joke that sent the room into peals of laughter. Gapryong, at the center of it all, held court with his booming laugh and sharp wit, Jinyong Park matched his pace drink for drink. The room was alive with stories of old scars and forgotten battles, of triumphs and losses, each tale punctuated by hearty toasts and the occasional rowdy song.

In the midst of the adults' revelry, the children, worn out from their own antics, began to succumb to sleep. Jake had run out of steam, Jerry yawned widely before finally giving in, and you, found your eyelids growing heavier by the minute.

As the night deepened, the adults continued to assure one another that they really should be heading home, only to be drawn back into another round of drinks or another hilarious story.

Unbeknownst to the adults, the three of you sneaked out of main room to try to distract yourselves from the impending sleep and fatigue, and decided to play hide and seek. As the hours ticked by, the party showed no signs of waning. But eventually, the night began to wind down, and the adults started to gather their belongings, preparing to leave.

"Alright, everyone, I think it's really time to go now," - Gapryong announced, albeit somewhat reluctantly. His words were met with nods and murmurs of agreement, though none made a move to actually stand up. Jinyong glanced around, suddenly realizing that the children were nowhere in sight. - "Where are the kids?" - he asked, a note of concern creeping into his voice. The adults exchanged worried glances and began to search the mansion, calling out names and checking every room. The once noisy and cheerful group was now a flurry of anxious activity, peering behind furniture, checking under tables, and opening every door they came across.

"Jake? Jerry? Where are you?" - Gapryong called out, his deep voice echoing through the halls.

It was Baekho Kwon who finally stumbled upon the scene. Opening the closet door, he found the three of you nestled among the fallen clothes, fast asleep. He couldn't help but chuckle at the sight before calling out to the others.

"I found them! They're in here!"

The adults rushed over, relief washing over their faces as they took in the adorable sight. You, still peacefully asleep on Jake's hand, throwing your head back and drooling on his arm, while he drooling on your shoulder and his arm protectively around you, Jerry's head rested gently on your lap, his calm, steady breathing a testament to the deep sleep only children could achieve. Gapryong smiled warmly at the sight. - "Well, would you look at that," - he said softly, his voice full of affection. - "Looks like they had their own little adventure."

Jinyong knelt down, carefully scooping you into his arms, not wanting to disturb your sleep. - "Come on, sweetheart," - he whispered, - "let's get you home."

Gapryong and Baekho followed suit, gently lifting Jake and Jerry, who barely stirred, their exhaustion too great to be roused by the movement.

Through his connections and Goo’s search for new secret friends, Jonggun Park learns of a terror within Big Deal.

So just as he had once scoured for a famous shoe snatcher named Johan Seong, he finds himself terrorising the streets of the Gangseo gang to search for his next masterpiece.

Broken windows left and right, broken noses here and there. Yet— there’s no one suitable who he hasn’t come across. Was this terror just a rumour?

As Gun readjusts his shades, he looks around once more with a frown. Jake’s sprawled on the floor, his dentures battered beside him. The former Big Deal leader lies nearby, and as Jonggun begrudgingly turns to leave in disappointment, a small figure— a child..?

No. Someone stands in his way while holding a fridge, and before he can react, the fridge is dropped on his big toe. For once in his life, Park Jonggun screeches. It’s not loud enough for the other Big Deal members to hear. More of an out-of-breath squeak if anything. But the absurdity of the sound coming out of Gun Park brings Sinu back to life, and rejuvenates Jake— making the poor boy convulse on the floor.

All too suddenly, Sinu witnesses a sadistic smile form on Jonggun’s face as Jerry rushes to stop you from further doing something that might put you behind bars.

Samuel is a sophisticated and intelligent individual who does not get bent by rumours. Let alone by any that revolve around his former Big Deal. He’s not swayed. At least, he tries not to be. But— what’s this? The new member and Jake are close? The two might even be siblings? Jake lost a fight against you? (Uno rules debate).

Well…perhaps it would serve as a beneficial business venture to check out Big Deal’s new asset.

So over the course of a few weeks, Samuel surveys the street. But— huh..? Everything seems just as he left it.

Having come to the conclusion that no one extraordinary had joined Big Deal, Samuel sneaks past a trash can to leave. Only to be spotted by Jake.

Brass knuckles are taken out, and as the streets cover in blood, you quickly arrive to stop the banter. Jake steps aside, head bowed slightly. The big deal members follow suit. Samuel, nose flared, gives you a look and tries to push you away. Only to have his balls punched, and body flying across the street.

Seongeun suddenly feels like a child, and wonders to the universe why everyone but him is Gapryong’s offspring.

★ A/N: couldn't get reluctant babysitter jake out of my head so i had to improvise! also, lineman having a little sister feels so canon to me. idk why?

jake isn’t sure how it’s come to this.

out of all people lineman could have asked, why him? as if he didn't have to do…literally anything else. one fight with some movie extras and he suddenly has all the world's confidence.

“she’s super easy to handle!” he had said, shoving a bag of snacks and a tablet into jake’s hands before bolting out the door. “i’ll only be gone for a few hours! you’re the best, boss!”

he already feels like drowning.

lineman’s little sister, maybe six years old, sits cross-legged on the floor, staring up at him curiously. she doesn’t say much, just hugs her stuffed bunny tightly and tilts her head every time he moves.

“so…what do you wanna do?” jake asks, trying to sound somewhat approachable.

“can you fight monsters?”

he thinks for a second. “sure”

“you look really tall. can you touch the ceiling?”

jake glances up and sighs. “no”

she frowns, clearly unimpressed, and jake wonders how this somehow feels worse than any fight he’s been in.

by the time she gets bored of interrogating, she’s bouncing around the cramped apartment. lineman was clearly lying about the "easy to handle" part.

“don’t climb that!” he exclaims, but she’s already halfway up on the chair near the shelf.

“i just want the cookies!” she protests, standing on tiptoes as it wobbles beneath.

jake moves before he can think, catching her mid-fall as the chair tips over. she clings to his neck like a scared cat, her tiny hands gripping on to him.

“you okay?” his tone is gentle now.

“yes…” she mumbles. “…sorry”

jake exhales, setting her back on her feet. “you scared me, kid. don’t do that again, alright?”

she nods, looking genuinely remorseful, and he finds it surprisingly hard to stay annoyed. she sticks close to him after, holding onto him whenever he moves around.

eventually, jake pulls out his phone and calls the only person he can.

“boss?” jerry answers on the first ring, as per usual.

“jerry, i need backup” he says flatly.

there’s a pause. “…what kind of backup?”

“i'm looking after lineman's sister” jake glances at the little girl, who’s now absentmindedly colouring at the table. “but she’s a menace”

“a little kid? you can’t handle a little kid, boss?”

“do you want a promotion or not, jerry?” he says dryly.

jerry hesitates, confused. “…but i’m already number two”

“well…don't let the others know, but i’m working on creating a top-secret position” his voice turns serious. “it’s between number two and number one. you interested?”

jerry pauses for a moment, and he can practically hear him thinking it over. “…are you serious, jake?”

jake smirks, shaking his head. “totally”

his tone is now oddly determined. “alright, i’m on my way!”

when jerry shows up, lineman’s sister immediately zeroes in on him.

“are you jerry?” she asks, squinting up.

“yes, ma’am” he politely crouches slightly so he’s closer to her height. “what’s up?”

“can you touch the ceiling?”

jerry grins, straightening to his full height. “wanna see?”

she nods enthusiastically, and jerry being the giant he is, reaches up to touch the ceiling with ease. she claps in delight, and jake can't help but snort at how proud he looks.

by the time lineman comes back, his sister is dozing off on the couch, clutching her stuffed bunny.

“thanks, jake” he says sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. “i owe you big time!”

“damn right you do” he mutters, grabbing his jacket. “don’t make a habit of this”

as he and jerry head out, the child suddenly stirs and runs to catch them at the door.

“wait! i made this for you” she says shyly, holding out a sheet of paper.

he unfolds it, revealing a crayon drawing of himself. in the picture, he’s taller than the buildings in the background, with a superhero cape and the words “JAKE, THE UNCLE WHO SAVED ME” scrawled beneath.

he stares at it, something warm settling in his chest.

“thank you, kiddo” he smiles, ruffling her hair gently.

on the way back, jerry glances at him. “you gonna frame that?”

“shut up jerry” but he carefully folds the drawing and tucks it into his pocket, somewhere it won’t get bent.

for a moment, his thoughts wander. he never thinks about kids. ever. why would he? definitely not with the life he leads right now.

jake clenches his jaw, his mind flashing to memories of his own father: a man who had chosen selfish indulgences over responsibility. looking after everyone, but his own family.

if life ever brings him to that point - if he ever had a child looking up at him, trusting him like that - he wouldn’t be like his father. he couldn’t. he’d be the kind of person they could count on, no matter what.

for the first time, jake wonders what it would be like. would he be capable of it?

maybe he wouldn’t be so bad at parenthood after all.

When he first handed you the package of ramen, he couldn't even look you in the eyes. He was embarrassed that it was all he could get. A silly package of spicy ramen. They ate ramen everyday. He wanted to give you something special, this wasn't it.

“I'm sorry I couldn't get you anything else, seriously.” He apologized once more.

To be honest however, this couldn't be a more perfect gift to you. It was just you and Jake, the rest of Big Deal was out, so it left the two of you to enjoy a moment of solitude.

“Damn it. Seriously, I'm sorr-”

“Don't apologize for this. I love it. I like being alone with you.”

You turn to look Jake directly in the eyes as you speak. Your face has a light blush over it. Jake looked taken aback for a moment before speaking again, flirting a bit.

“Is it too late to make this a date?”

Eugene stood in front of you with his usual close eyed smile. His hands were folded behind his back, while Mandeok held out a pair of keys to you.

You simply stared back, unsure of what the keys were for. Like with everything Eugene did, this had to come with a twist.

“Please (Y/n), accept the keys”

Eugene spoke in his disturbingly calm voice. With hesitation you took the keys, and when you did, Eugene's smile grew. Creepy.

“I'm so glad you accepted, now the car is downstairs, please arrive soon, we must leave quickly.”

That caused you to pause. Did he give you keys, to a car, just for you to drive him around?

“What? I am your chauffeur or something?” You question, joking a bit.

“Thank you for picking up on that so soon. I was worried you wouldn't have figured it out so quickly.”

You were just joking.

In Jerry's mind, each note was played with perfection. The meaning of the song was perfectly conveyed, displaying the genuine appreciation he had for you. His eyes were closed, waiting with anticipation to open them at the end and see your shocked face.

You did have a shocked look on your face, but not in the same sense Jerry was thinking. As he played, you winced everytime he would miss a note, but that didn't stop you from appreciating the hard work he put into this song.

Brad and Jason stood by your side, trying to hold in their laughter. As the song came to a close Jerry took a moment before opening his eyes, staring at you, waiting for your reaction.

Jason and Brad were about to burst out into laughter, when a sharp kick to both their shins from you silenced them. You looked at them, conveying the message, don't you dare laugh!

Tears were in your eyes, and you wiped a stray one away. Pride filled you as you turned towards Jerry.

He's not the most physically affectionate but anticipates your every need, doing things for you before you even realise you wanted them. Self-sacrificing with Big Deal and as your boyfriend. Make sure his needs are taken care of, he deserves it!

Lineman

Listen, this guy bullshits a lot. He's full of bravado and confidence but he is surprisingly earnest when it comes to you. Everything may be exaggerated and said flippantly, but Lineman does think you're the most beautiful, the smartest, the absolute best. No competition. Completely fearless with anything you throw at him. Whether that's something adventurous in the bedroom or a life plan 10 years in the future.

Jerry Kwon

If he is Jake's sword, then he is your shield. Most of the time he barely needs to do anything, just being with him makes sure thugs and troublemakers will stay away. Nevertheless, protects you from danger and cuddling with Jerry will melt all your stress away. Loves you as much as he respects Jake. Which is a whole frickin' lot. Probably more than you would ever know. A big teddy bear, and can be shy - needing you to make the first moves or read his moods.

Jake Kim

You've done it. You've reached the peak. Maximum good times, minimum mental breakdowns. He is stable, a great caregiver and maybe the funniest person you will ever meet, or at least he likes to think so. Does tend to prioritise Big Deal over your relationship and being his girlfriend. You need to be very understanding. Shame he spends a lot of time away from you dealing with the crew but he more than makes up for it with kisses and cuddles and attention (where he can spare it).

Sinu Han

Who do you think taught Jake how to respect women? Gapryong? Nah. It's this girlboss. Didn't used to have much time nor money as Big Deal boss. Now at least he has lots of time and will make sure you are top prority. Literally got yourself a whole househusband. He has nothing better to do than look after you. When you're apart, loves making and sending little videos of himself to you to cheer you up. And it's not hard once you see his beaming bright smile.

Daniel Park

Very sweet, Zack might have stole his first kiss but he wants you to be the first for everything else! His obliviousness to all the girls hitting on him would piss you off though. Once you've spoken to him and he realises, he'll apologise profusely and makes sure it's very clear that he's taken. "Yes, I've got a girlfriend. Yes, I'm very happy. Please I'm not interested!" Very easy for you to make him blush. He might have heard a lot of flattery, but just tell him how cute he looks today and he will flush bright red.

Jay Hong

Are you ready to be spoiled? Have all your whims fulfilled? This man will literally go to the moon and back for you, and he could pay for it to. Loves spoiling you, shopping with you is one of his favourite pastimes but enjoys spending time with you even if it's chilling with the pups. Writes you little messages and notes for you to find throughout the day. Very sentimental and keeps a memento of pretty much everything. Apart from having cash for days, other major girlfriend privileges include seeing his eyes and riding around on his motorbike. Which is pretty sexy, not gonna lie.

Vasco Tabasco

This cinnamon roll!! What else is there to say about him! He's innocent and naive and doesn't really know how to be the best boyfriend but he's so eager to learn and to make you happy. Make a big deal out of every milestone and anniversary. Looks forward to big occasions like meeting the parents until the actual day comes and he almost passes out from nervousness. Being with the head of Burn Knuckles means you've automatically adopted the rest of the gang too. Watch out for your sanity.

Jace Park

Goes a bit too hard on the romance front, but unfortunately picked most of it up from kdrama or romance novels. Imagine his surprise when after your first fight you actually did want space and wasn't pleased when he turned up on your doorstep. Kind hearted and good intentioned. He's dotes on you and a great listener. Insufferable to the rest of Burn Knuckles as he won't shut up about you. Once he's with you, he is WITH you. He may be 'married to Burn Knuckles', but in a relationship, you two are as good as married. And yes, he is the best househusband. Obviously.

Zack Lee

BIG softie. Clingy, a little obsessive but He. Loves. You. We've seen how he is with Mira. Being in a reciprocal relationship with someone would turn that up to ELEVEN. He will always always try his best, and gets a little insecure and sad if he lets you down but to you it doesn't matter. Seeing his effort is enough and you make sure to let him know. Will walk to the ends of the earth for you, you barely even have to ask. Also will deny he's a simp to everyone as they look on at him incredulously. Seriously? It's the most obvious frigging thing!

Vin Jin

Oh my god this guy. He will play his music for you at ANY opportunity. It's a good job you love him, otherwise you would need to jam some chopsticks in your ears. You can't help but be charmed though seeing him doing what he loves, so you take up the role as his number 1 fan. Plays it cool but he is very clingy. Probably text you with 'wyd' and if you don't respond in the next 10 mins, expect a barrage of messages. And if you're busy and haven't seen him for a day or 2? He's on your doorstep: "Here I got you a gift. Me."

Gun Park

He's a surprisingly good partner. He doesn't like wasting time and least of all his own so he knows already you're a good fit with him. The fact that he agreed to be your partner means that he already holds you in exceptionally high regard and cares about you a great deal. Still a walking red flag though. Especially cold and callous when he's had a bad day or you ask him about something he doesn't want to answer. You can go hours or even days not talking after your fights until he finally asks if you can hear him out. He's not stupid. He knows the way he reacts isn't how you should treat a partner and promises to keep working on it

Goo Kim

A rollercoaster ride of a boyfriend. In an established relationship, he can be exceptionally clingy. You better be patient and on the same wavelength as him or you're going to have a bad time. Your nights together can flit from watching anime to light arson in the blink of an eye. At least you can't say he's boring. Soft in his own way for you, and spoils you with your demands and requests, and his money! Really does let you get away with a little too much.

Johan Seong

He was shocked when he realised he cared more about you than Eden and Miro. You were too, you know what they mean to him... And now what you mean to him too. A little feral and not the best at expressing himself but if you have the patience to support him then he'll have the patience to try. Do not offer to share food with this man. Not a bite, no snacks, nothing. He would take advantage. The definition of give him an inch and he'll take a mile. Leave your plate unattended, and the food will be gone the moment you're back. Eden and Miro will get the blame.

Eli Jang

Hope you're ready for 2 cuties in your life because Eli and Yenna are a package deal. Eli never thought he would get the fairytale happy family but with you it's actually happening. He loves planning family dates and seeing you and Yenna together. He's already carved out a future for you and him otherwise he wouldn't encourage you and Yenna to bond.

Warren Chae

Absolutely adores telling you he loves you. With you the words flow, and so do the compliments. In his quieter moments, you catch him staring at you a lot until hegrabs your hand and gives you three squeezes instead. I. Love. You. Privately, renames himself from 'Gangdong's Mighty Warren Chae' to 'Y/N's Mighty Warren Chae'. Super silly, but it makes you giggle everytime. He means it though. Will look after you any way he can.

Keeps you out of the spotlight. Please don't be insecure, it's not that he doesn't want to be seen with you - he's just protecting you from public scrutiny and his horde of fans. Generally cool and aloof but with you he can be surprisingly soft and romantic. Truly a k-pop idol capturing the heart of millions. You will become his biggest stan, and he would find that equal parts amusing and endearing. As long you are kept a secret, he will tell the media he has a special someone, someone that really knows him. Makes you and the general public melt everytime he is heard talking about you.

Samuel Seo

Aw Sammy. He just wants some praise and love and you readily offer it to him. Puts up a lot of walls at first before seeing that you don't care who he is or where he's from and love him for him. Definitely one to wait for you to say I love you and fall first before he could reciprocate. He needs to make sure this is real and you are real. Sometimes though, the moment just feels too right for him to keep his feelings to himself... Spends obscene amounts on you to try and impress you. It doesn't. Not really. Ok maybe a little bit.

Xiaolong

One to go to extremes to please the one he loves. Old example: Vivi. Please see updated example: You. There is nothing he will not do for you. Theres a long list of simps in Lookism and he's close to the top of the list. Hes an avid texter but since he likes to follow you everywhere, you wouldn't know. Despite how much of a shit he can be, genuinely respects you and thinks the world of you. Will happily and without hesitation sock anyone that says a bad word about you. Unlike Xiaolong, all in working order downstairs since you met. You have no issues getting him to stand to attention. Have fun!

Eugene

A bit of an absentee boyfriend. He has a lot on his plate. He never regret his position or what he's achieved until you started dating, and now he wishes you could spend more time together. When he's with you though, he's WITH you. You have his full attention. He even turns his phone off. His assistants know that they can't reach him when he's with you. Building burning down? Nope. Don't care.

Jihan Kwak

You thought he was a troublemaker at first. And you would be right. He can run rings around you, teasing and a little mean, the cause of many headaches. All the words are meant with love though. Just look at the way he looks at you as he calls you an idiot. This guy is impossibly soft for you. Make sure you don't let him get away with too much though. As the youngest and spoilt, he can be bratty and a little inconsiderate. He's no fool. Tell him and he will adjust his behaviour.

Jibeom Kwak

There's something so fun about stealing the clothes from your teddy-bear boyfriend. So what if his taste is terrible and ugly as hell. Seeing you in his t-shirt or shorts or even boxers will absolutely break his brain. A little dense, but very trusting - bit like our other cinnamonroll, Vasco. Always well-intentioned, but you may need to be explicit with him. Don't worry, he's a quick learner. Loves you an awful lot and has no problem telling the whole world, even if that means teasing from his brothers.

Hudson Ahn

There's two very people that are at the tippity top of Hudson's list. Taesoo, and you. Your boyfriend is your sun. Quiet and a little stoic, watching you with an intensity and a little smile on his face that takes your breath away. Especially when he's usually cold and reserved with most people, the fact that you can make him look like that just being in your presence? The BEST. Blessed with one of the better asses in Lookism that even Heat Daniel couldn't resist. GUN IN LOOKISM 506 ANALYSIS? WELL, SORT OF. mostly me yapping.

starting off with these Charles Choi lines said to Eugene...

during Kenta's backstory montage in the second affiliate, we see Gun as a child has already attained UI stage. physically, he has from the start (an interesting narrative choice i believe) been set apart as someone who has ascended mortal thresholds. no one in the story until now has his degree of UI proficiency, and the stage itself remained unseen or unheard of until Daniel reaches it.

in some ways, there is something eerily non-human about this particular manifestation of his strength. his existence is forever a pariah in the realm of humanity.

aside from the morphological louche qualities, Gun's ideals and thoughts have never aligned with the either the minds of his successor candidates or friends.

everyone in this story follows or strives to achieve certain purpose. revenge, romance, family, friends, self-preservation, money, power... all of which can ultimately be rounded off to humane desires and needs.

not Gun. Never. what he does have is, a morbid obsession with death, a frantic fascination to kill or be killed.

human nature is typically averse to the idea of death, which most perceive as an end. we know little about Gun's actual discernment of death. maybe it is linked to his yakuza upbringing, where death is matter of inches, everyday lived on knife's edge. to be subjected to a lifestyle of abject horror as a child irreversibly changes your psyche, after you have become so familiar with death, you associate some sentimentality with it. death is the only constant. so maybe, just maybe, he seeks it as comfort. as relief.

for him to kill is the greatest sincerity, and he displays this same sincerity to his master, i.e., Kenta's father. it's not cruel for him, battle is simply a means of honoring someone he respects. it's too terrifying to be comprehend by the mortal mind (Kenta cannot), but humans have never known the minds of gods or devils.

enacting violence is the most intimacy he can muster, as has been seen throughout the story. for all the atrocities he has inflicted upon the crewheads, he nurtures them because they show promise. he keeps them alive in hopes that someday they too can pay their respects to their master, kill him and reciprocate his outmost sincerity, show their devotion just like he has.

he is enraged and disappointed because they have another primary purpose that makes killing him secondary, he is infuriated because they fail to be sincere in annihilating him.

maybe this is why he's the way he is about UI Daniel, another inhumane creature of pure instinct who is not bound by man's fickleness towards death. hence the psychosexual infatuation.

"Let's kill each other," is what Gun says, upon meeting someone cursed by the same fate of never being human, such as himself.

Gun is insepreable from the idea of death in comic. perhaps i will make a more coherent and comprehensible post on the same some other day.

His words have been cut off as your gentle and soft hands finally reached out to his beautiful face as you gave him a smooch on the lips, him uncontrollably melting on the feeling of yours on his own. He was about to kiss you back when you suddenly snatched away the junk food on his hand that is much more slender and firm than yours as you ran and giggled on the school corridor trying to hide on the crowded cafeteria. Despite him being more stronger and faster than you, he couldn't react to your movements. Is there a love spell that makes him hypnotized when you kiss and touch him? Who knows, you're the only one whom he is weak to at least when it comes for his undying and unconditional love for you. Ah, what a sneaky little brat you are.

Jerry walked through the hallway, his footsteps echoing softly against the polished floors. as Jake's right-hand man and protector, Jerry took his job seriously. his size and demeanor often led people to mistake him for an adult, or even someone's father, but inside, he was still little naive and shy, gentle bear boy. today, he was on a mission to deliver important documents to Jake.

passing by the office of Jake's girlfriend - yours actually - Jerry couldn't help but notice the strange noises emanating from within.

*rustle, rustle*

Jerry's curiosity got the better of him. he leaned closer, his large frame blocking most of the hallway light as he pressed his ear against the door. the sounds from inside grew clearer, and what he heard made his heart skip a beat. - "aaah, Jake, it’s too big, stop, stop!!" - your voice came through the door, strained and breathy. the tone was laced with a mixture of frustration and effort. "not so big, come on, it’ll fit," - Jake replied, his voice confident yet slightly strained and puffed. Jerry's eyes widened, his face starting to flush. the rustling intensified, accompanied by your muffled squeaks and Jake's guttural growls.

"mhhhm Jake...be careful! we might break something..." - you warned, your voice filled with a mix of concern and excitement.

to be honest, Jerry didn’t know how long he had been standing there leaning against the wall and with a worried look and mind full of imagining what was happening in the room. of course, he guessed that boss Jake was good… at this, but so goo-… no! it is not right! he's not a pervert after all!! yes, it’s decided, he, Jerry Kwon, will turn around right now and leave here and forget about it as if nothing had happened!

"oooh my god Jake!! aaah i can't take it anymore!!" - you groaned, the desperation clear in your voice. "damn, we made such a mess," Jake breathed out, teasing grin was on his lips. Jerry shuddered. his mind raced, cheeks turned a deep shade of red, hotter than a burning ember. realizing he had stumbled upon something intensely private, he backed away from the door in a hurry, his legs almost giving out beneath him. his mind was a whirlwind of confusion and embarrassment as he stumbled away, eager to escape the hallway and the sounds that haunted him.

*meanwhile, on the other side of the wall…*

"jeez, Jake, i told you this closet wouldn’t fit here! why do you keep pushing it?!" - you exclaimed, folding your arms over your chest and glaring at Jake.

Jake, undeterred, flashed you a wide grin. raising his arm and flexing his biceps, showing off how strong he is "come on, it’s no problem. let’s drag it over there; that’s where it’ll definitely belong." with a final heave, the two of you managed to position the heavy closet into the corner of the room. the effort left you both breathless and surrounded by the clutter you were trying to organize.

"well, at least it’s done," - you said, brushing a stray hair from your face and looking around at the chaos that now filled the room. Jake chuckled, wrapping an arm around your waist. "see? i told you it would fit" - you couldn't help but laugh, the tension of the moment dissolving into relief. "next time, let's measure first, okay?"

*meanwhile outside the corridor*

Jerry finally found a quiet spot to collect himself. his thoughts swirled with confusion and embarrassment. he leaned against the wall, taking deep breaths to calm his racing heart. the situation weighed heavily on him, making him question his place and his actions. how could I have been so stupid? he thought, rubbing his head. the more he replayed the sounds and words in his head, the more embarrassed he felt. idea of confronting Jake and you about what he overheard made his stomach churn.

as the day went on, Jerry tried to avoid any interaction with Jake and you, but fate had other plans. during lunch, he found himself sitting across from Jake, who was eagerly discussing plans for the weekend. "you okay, Jerry? you seem a bit off today," - Jake asked, his eyes narrowing slightly in concern. Jerry forced a smile, trying to hide his discomfort. "y-yeah, boss... everythisng i-is just fine!!" - Jake nodded, not pressing further. "well, if you need anything, you know i'm here" - Jerry appreciated the gesture, but the embarrassment lingered. little did he know, the reality of the situation was far more mundane than his imagination had led him to believe…

Mindless scratches pave the way for red skin, and a burning sensation begins to ignite. You feel choked up, at first unable to cry. Everything is weighing down, and the heaviness of it all is paralysing. The feeling of loneliness is so overwhelming at this moment. It’s painfully numb, yet achingly hard to bear. You scour around, trying to find the object. Once it’s in your hands, you sit down on your bed to recollect your thoughts. The blade is pointed at your skin, glinting temptingly, and you try. You try to restrain yourself. Wanna feel something else.

A muffled choke escapes your lips, but your throat still feels as constricted as ever. The cold pricks at the already formed goosebumps, and all focus is between the object in your hand, and your skin.

A hand softly plants itself on your back, and suddenly, everything feels like it’s going to fall. The touch is gently, but it feels like betrayal. You don’t want him here. What you want to be more than anything right now when doing this, is alone. You don’t want to face the pity, the disappointment, the weight of someone else’s concern.

The man situates himself on the bed behind you, holding you so gently, so securely. He doesn’t pull the blade away, but instead, brushes rhythmic circles on the hand that holds it. You try to squirm away from him, but he’s reluctant.

“I love you,” he whispers, and you can feel the desperation in his being with the way his fingers twitch. Oh how he wants to pull the object away. How the current situation pangs his heart. How he wants to embrace you, spill whatever’s hurting you into him instead.

You want to scream, but like before, nothing comes out. Your shoulders begin to shake, your body convulses, muffled cries escape your mouth, and everything inside of you cracks wide open. They become uncontrollable.

The arms wrapped around you tighten, and the man holds you so you don’t fall into whatever bottomless dark pit threatens to swallow you.

“I’m here with you,” he whispers, his own voice threatening to break too.
