hii i just wanted to say i love the new snippet of if that isn’t love! i really love this fic so much i think you have their characters and dynamic down. i’m in the dilemma of dying to read the snippets you post vs wanting to wait to read the new chapter all at once but i always cave and read it because i can’t resist lol the new snippet you posted is so great! hot and sexy but intimate and tender (“all of you”= extremely fucking hot and intimate, “full up to his heart” incredibly tender but also sexy) and i’ve said this before on ao3 but i really appreciate how well you describe positions and physicality ! anyway good luck with your writing and thank you for the snippet!
ough thank you so much
i promise there will be so much more to the chapter than what i post and also context makes all the difference!! hehehe
i'm super stoked that you appreciate the writing, that truly means so much to me. and okay you didn't ask me this but i'm going to share the quick-and-dirty writing lesson anyway.
when i'm writing in a particular character's viewpoint (which i largely do through third person restricted POV) the thing that i do which makes it work is a focus on interiority, which has two components:
the physical sensations experienced by the character
what the character sees
blending both of these within a scene is what gives that reader experience of not only being able to picture the scene, but being able to feel they are involved in it/experiencing it too.
it's all sensory description, but what a lot of beginner writers overlook is that our senses don't just indicate what the environment around us is doing; our senses include what is happening inside our bodies. to expand that a bit, we know what our bodies are feeling but not necessarily how they look from the outside. the inverse of that is we can see what other people's bodies are doing, but we don't necessarily know what they are feeling.
a character doesn't know for certain if they are blushing, because they can't see their own face. what they do know is that they feel shy/ashamed/embarrassed/turned on, but writing "Gale was embarrassed" (for example) is a boring sentence. so, what sensations does Gale experience which indicate to the reader that he may be blushing? blushing makes our faces hot; we experience a full/pressurised feeling under the skin as the blood rushes to that spot; it may be accompanied by other physical sensations, like a dry mouth (or a wet one), a tight sensation in your throat, sweat, dizziness/light-headedness, etc. etc.
foundational writing advice that a lot of people will have heard is show, don't tell, but perhaps they haven't been taught what that actually means. one facet of it is that telling the reader what emotion your character is feeling is a quick way to make the writing seem unemotional and didactic. immersion happens when the reader gets caught up in the sensations and experiences—which, after all, is the entire point of writing erotica.
to any beginner or uncertain writer, i highly recommend Chuck Palahniuk's essay about banishing "thought" verbs. it isn't a hard-and-fast rule (no writing advice or lesson is), but it does present an incredibly valuable exercise: try writing something which does not use "thought" verbs (Thinks, Knows, Understands, Realizes, Believes, Wants, Remembers, Imagines, Desires, Loves, Hates etc.). take it a step further, and remove all abstract emotions. focus on action and sensation only. once you break reliance on these words which often do so much heavy lifting in beginner writing, then you'll be able to employ them with intent and for effect rather than relying on them.
there is so much more i could say about this but the important stuff is that all writers need to learn the rules before they break them, if they want to be effective (as a teacher, reader, and writer i'm saying unequivocally that intention is always always always more evocative than accident, imitation, or lack of care). writers need to think about themselves not just as writers, but as directors and actors too: as a director, your tool is the visual; as an actor, your tool is the interior.

How did they accidentally intimately understand the experiences of mentally ill ppl in s1??? How??? It’s gotta be cos the writers changed right
Ok bcos like, it’s not like Jinx in s1 was a good portrayal of mental illnesses in the sense that it was realistic. I’d actually argue that part of her appeal and what made her work so well is bcos she was undiagnosable. She showed many symptoms of what could be many different issues and so many ppl could relate to her on a basis of one symptom. But what they did with Jinx that made her work so well is that they seemingly understood the emotions and psychology that are shared by ppl with all types of different issues. They didn’t need to understand all the technicalities in terms of, like I said, a realistic portrayal of a specific issue. What mattered was that she felt like a really mentally ill person cos her arc dealt with the struggles of mentally ill ppl. She was portrayed to feel isolated, struggling to communicate/socialize, feeling like she was fundamentally wrong/different, like she inherently didn’t belong anywhere, frustrated with her own symptoms, having internalized guilt, a desire to be loved/accepted, feeling unlovable, trying to hide her issues/symptoms, futilely trying to fit/change her behavior to fit/pass, feeling like a failure etc.
The main betrayal of s2 when it comes to Jinx and her arc was violating that connection that ppl build with Jinx in s1. S2 Jinx is an extremely unrealistic, unrelatable and sanitized portrayal of mental issues.
99% of her symptoms disappeared after she experienced smth that would drastically exacerbate them. Are you pranking me? Is that what I’m supposed to relate to? Quick fixes were applied, like giving her Isha to fix her loneliness but 1)that’s not how raising a child while mentally ill would look like, it would make her struggles worse 2) they cease to portray crucial experiences of mental illness like feeling like you don’t belong cos your behavior is always off, these things don’t just disappear, even when ppl get better there’ll still be these moments, and that’s in a best case scenario. Like trans ppl after finishing treatment saying they got rid of 99% of their dysphoria, but never a 100%. look at how they expertly managed to portray Silco and Jinx having a close loving bond and simultaneously highlight her loneliness and isolation. So she has a kid now bcos single mothers are not famously lonely and isolated ppl right? It was a common point of criticism of Silco that Jinx not having friends amongst her peers is a really bad sign but now she still has no friends but now 1) it stopped being an issue 2) she’s also a single mother now.
The focus was switched from her being portrayed as likely born neurodivergent + traumatized to depression but specifically suicidality. it’s not like in s1 she wasn’t portrayed as depressed/suicidal and you’d think she’d become more so after s1 but that wasn’t the sole focus, but curiously it becomes so in s2. But despite this switch in focus that you’d think would stem from the writers wanting to write about their own experiences or smth that interests them that they think is important it couldn’t be clearer that the writers had zero empathy for the issues they were writing about cos it’s misery porn, a pitfall that many stories that center suicide fall into, glamorizing and romanticizing it. In s1 her worst symptoms like hallucinations were very dramatic and cool-looking visually but it was connected to this fundamental empathy, the understanding of mentally ill ppl as ppl with emotions and what those are. In s2 they drastically switch the portrayal of her issues to fit what they wanted to do with her in s2, and then proceeded to use it solely for cool and dramatic imagery/scenarios. It is completely disconnected from ppl’s real life experiences. The relatability was sacrificed for the sake of following tropes like 'death as redemption' that are supposed to be more dramatic or smth. Having her ping-pong from having no issues to having all the issues throughout the narrative.
Act1: She’s ‘dead inside’, she seems somewhat motivated at some point only for it to be revealed she was planning suicide – alright season, nice, what’s next. Act2: she’s just completely alright now from the get go, her hallucinations show up only when she first finds out Isha’s in danger. why? who knows. It’s like the writers understood that for them that would be a particularly stressful situation so they use the imagery of her illness to communicate she’s super distressed in this moment. So they used the imagery of mental illness not to convey mental illness and how it interacts with her life but as a dramatic-looking shortcut to convey a strong emotion, one that any other character would feel in this situation. Otherwise she’s doing better than she ever was, even in s1a1, and then Isha dies. Act3: so now she 100% ’wants to die’ again and it’s super depresso but then she has one conversation with Ekko and she’s again doing super good and then she dies by semi-suicide but she’s happy doing it and it’s like. beautiful? ok.

I'm back with episode 4 of Peaceful Property and our boys are starting to be quite solid, so let's go!
1
They're not fighting anymore this week (although I suspect they might bring that back next week when things get personal for Peach) but they're still doing their good old couple bickering.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I wish to personally congratulate whomever came up with this line. It's perfect.)
2
Pangpang's commenters are also still shipping, though they were mostly preoccupied with criticizing her and the government, this week.
Tumblr media
3
They keep just being around each other. Sitting closer than neccessary, standing closer than neccessary.
Tumblr media
They clearly find comfort in each others presence and constantly seek it out, sticking together for large parts of this episode.
Tumblr media
They were this close to cuddling on that couch while the others were doing their own stuff. (And Home is truely not disproving the bi allegations with the way he's sitting? here)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Even when Peach cooks, Home, instead of helping/bothering the others is, of course, sticking with Peach (and racking up the ghost's energy bill)
Tumblr media
4
Peach laughs at Home's stupid joke. That's like THE ultimate sign of a crush (or so I'm told).
Tumblr media
5
In general they're so touchy this episode.
Starting off by holding hands when running from the alledged ghost.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Btw, can we talk about the way Home looks at Peach here, because damn)
And after Peach injuries his ankle they get even touchier. Home is immediately the one who keeps carrying Peach around but even when he's not doing that they've got their hands on each other,
Tumblr media
he's got a hand on Peach's back,
Tumblr media
or an arm around his shoulder.
Tumblr media
Through all of it Home's so gentle with Peach. Very sweet.
(And don't think I didn't catch your hand when you were checking on Peach ('s peach), Home!)
Tumblr media
6
Discussing Pangpang's recent behavioural changes while casually fighting over a blanket. It seems they have taken her comment about them being the parents to heart. Also Home is the one who brings it up which goes to show that he's really been paying attention, trying to learn about his new companions just like shady uncle told him to in ep 2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Appropriately, their fight ends with them sharing the blanket, so.
7
They're both so protective of the other this episode.
Peach especially. He's so far been mostly cowering behind his sister or Home, but this episode he kind of takes on the role of protector. He is, after all the only one who has experience seeing ghosts, so now that the other three are seeing a "ghost" for the first time and are quite distressed by it, he steps up to take charge of the group. Deciding when to leave situations and making sure everyone's safe. Notably he physically pulls Home (and only Home) along to run away TWICE this episode. The first time in the aforementiond hand holding moment and the second time when they run away, shortly before the shelf incident.
Tumblr media
Home gets his turn to be protective after Peach gets hurt. I've already discussed how he immediately takes it upon himself to carry Peach around and sticks to his side for the rest of the night, but he's also not about to just let it go that Mr. Magician hurt his man, even after he tells them his (admittedly very sad, even my reservations about Foei couldn't stop me from shedding a couple of tears) sob-story.
Tumblr media
(Sure Home, "friend")
8
Peach has become somewhat of a chaotic-rich-boy handler.
Tumblr media
They're functioning as a team now, complementing each other and Peach is here to bring the level-headedness when Home get's a little too worked up. Cause if Home is going to listen to anyone, it's Peach.
Tumblr media
9
They have achieved the crucial step in relationship closeness of nonverbal communication.
Tumblr media
(this is admittedly where still images can't fully capture my point but trust me bro, it's happening) (also admittedly, there's no exclusivity here. Some nonverbal communication is happening between many constellations of their team this episode, showing that they've all gotten closer. But it's an important milestone in their relationship nontheless so I'm bringing it up)
10
Home notices Peach shaking when cooking and he's worried about him. (He had already witnessed the shaking last episode when Peach was making noodles in their office so he knows it's a pattern and not a one-time thing) It is in fact his biggest worry right now, as we find out when he's talking to Kan on the phone, and Suradech in the bath for some reason.
Tumblr media
Speaking of that scene, he does get a little flirty with Kan over the call but even he admit's he's joking.
Tumblr media
What he's not joking about is that he's happy that their group has clicked and from what we see this episode and the fact that he goes immediately back to worrying about him, I think it's safe to say he's mostly thinking about Peach when he says this.
Tumblr media
In the first place, there was never really any major problem between anyone else, so it truely is this newfound closeness between Home and Peach that brings harmony to their little family.
11
Of course, while her brother and Home are off in their own world, Pangpang sticks with Kan. She is unfortunately a little too busy with her own insecurities to get much flirting done this week, but you can't convince me she wasn't a little turned on by Kan when she threatened to sue the "ghost".
Tumblr media
12
Again, this week we leave the episode with a little nugget of extra Home and Peach sitting very close, bickering and flirting in the credits.
Tumblr media
TayNew's chemistry is coming through in full force in these moments. I'm half convinced the director told them to just be themselves when they filmed the end credit bits.

So people talk about how Harry and Kim’s t4t relationship is important for both of them and that’s awesome! But I also think that the only way that Harry could ever meaningfully move forward in her development as a trans woman and a feminist is by having an important relationship with another trans woman.
Like, the in-game interaction Harry has with another heavily trans woman-coded character is with Klaasje, right? And it’s the first time that she feels that frisson of recognition, the do-I-want-to-fuck-her-or-be-her, but there’s no way for them to have an actual relationship. It’s no accident, I think, that her hair is the same color as Dora’s; like Dora/Dolores, Klaasje figures in Harry’s cosmology as a star to follow. And, like Dora, Klaasje is someone that Harry can never be cool to because she’s not a new person. The way they meet is as a trans woman in a precarious legal state and a male cop. There’s no way Klaasje doesn’t feel it too— there’s this clear vibe between them that Klaasje herself seems surprised by, and then there’s the infamous Half-Light dialogue about how Harry “know[s] how it is,” but Klaasje is closing herself off to it; she can’t risk it, making herself vulnerable to someone who is likely to hurt her, who has the power to hurt her very badly, and whose own gender shit is the opposite of a guarantee against that harm. And she’s right to! It’s no trans woman’s responsibility to mother a baby trans through this kind of helplessness in the first place, let alone at such risk to her own person. It’s even in the text that Harry is dangerously close to threatening her with the law or hurling violently misogynistic language at her and that choosing not to goes against every RCM protocol, every patriarchal protocol, even her own tired set of misogynist behaviors, because like a lot of rotten eggs Harry did some really fucked up shit while she was doing conversion therapy on herself and old habits die hard. Learning and growing, getting right with the world by living out a feminist politic, is what the game overtly frames as a crucial element of what a second chance in the existing world looks like. But, it cautions, you can’t make real live women into your arena for growth. Klaasje and Harry part ways, and that’s the way it should be. There’s no other way that could go.
But, well. You know how it is. Self-criticism is important and the only way to grow, the game has a proper grasp on the Marxist theory of knowledge in this way, but it’s also astute in its presentation of Harry’s Sorry Cop tendencies. Through Jean, through Dora, we learn that Harry has apologized over and over pre-amnesia and it never meaningfully changed anything. Succumbing to a deluge of self-loathing isn’t the same as ruthless self-critique because if you’re critiquing yourself you’re expecting to grow from it, not to shrink or die. And just as in our world it’s so, so easy to turn trans women’s guilt and shame over “male socialization” into a cudgel to get them to self-police and become more open to manipulation and abuse, Harry would be so easily convinced that apologizing for just being herself is the only way to make the, well, everything about her remotely okay. She would hate herself for desiring Klaasje, for desiring women generally, for the awful things she did in her past, for the way she looks, for things she thinks are her fault and were in fact things that were done to her, and thus her underlying semiconscious assumption would be that she doesn’t really deserve womanhood or solidarity or intimacy with other working women.
It’s true that Kim’s presence in her life will be very important in helping her learn to love her body and be less afraid of that part of herself, but stopping there misses something very crucial: if the only person in Harry’s life who validates her gender is a man, especially one who is her boyfriend, that’s not a good thing! The trans women I know who are the most secure and confident in themselves are those who have important relationships with other trans women; woman cannot live on het t4t alone. My ideal candidate for this woman is someone who lives on the other side of the fence from Harry, who had some bad experiences with men in her past and copes by semi-consciously viewing herself as a cis lesbian who’s adjacent to a lot of trans people, and with whom Harry can simultaneously start healing (and have hot lesbian sex ofc). One day maybe I’ll fully flesh out this OC and write a fic but for now this text post will have to do.

hello Kit
i just read 'mouthy' and i can tell you that you made my evening with this fic <3 thank you for writing such good and sweet t4t levihan
this truth and dare game sounds fun! how about 🍓 🛼 🍄 (maybe for erurihan?) 🍅 🐝 🎨 ?
i hope it's not too much though... (❀ˆᴗˆ)
oooh Victoria thank you!! i'm very happy you liked it 🥹🥹 thanks for letting me know ♥️🥰😘
-> wanna play writer's truth and dare with me?
🍓how did you get into writing fanfiction?
well, i started writing when i was huh...... ten i think? and i wrote fanfiction back then, i just did not know what it was (and definitely didn't post it hahaha). i got into it on purpose when i got into my first online fandom, through discussing ideas with other fans and reading their fave fics!
🛼 describe your latest wip with five emojis
hummmm let's see. i think this is the wip i'm closest to posting right now (when i get a minute to work on it ughh):
🏢🪽💢🚬💑
🍄 share a head canon for one of your favourite ships or pairings
for erurihan as you asked: i like to think they took FOREVER to get together, not because they're a tryad, not because they're busy af in canonverse or any AU i imagine them in, but because they're, all three of them, the absolute fucking worst motherfuckers alive. hange is oblivious as fuck, levi's sure both of his crushes are unrequited, and erwin's the most repressed asshole on earth who took one look at his own feelings and went "NOPE" and closed that door (or did he?)
writing them is painful in fics when they aren't established (which i know i haven't shared any of those actually sorry for the tease lmao), but it's also very Them x)
🍅 give yourself some constructive criticism on your own writing
sure!! here goes my one biggest criticism i give myself each and every day: i don't think i'm very good at conveying intentions when it's not like with one strong line of dialogue or one crucial point in the fic. i feel like a lot of my fics are... unbalanced in that way, as a result?with strong moments that i love to reread that make me feel stuff (and hopefully my readers too), and "filler" moments that i cringe at without fail each time bc im like, dude did you even try?? so, i need to work on breaching that gap of quality i feel exists within most of my fics... i'm just not very sure how.
also, sometimes i try to be funny, and when i reread my stuff, i realize smth i thought was hilarious at the time of posting is actually pretty lame. so i should either stop trying to be funny, or get better at it x)
🐝 tag your biggest supporter(s) and say one nice thing about them
honestly, anyone who comments on my fics or leave me any kind of feedback and people who send prompts, all of you i consider a huge support and i thank you all so much for it!! ♥️♥️
now i do have to mention @nube55 as not so much my biggest supporter, but definitely the #1 victim of my overly enthusiastic ass and the dozens of new wips i come up with in a week's time 😁😁 honey (yes 🍯 that's right), you're always happy to listen to my ideas and chime in, so just know i love you and how much support we give each other (in fandom things and others 💜)
🎨 link your favourite piece of fanart and explain why you like it
i can't actually do that as my all time levihan fave art was shared through dms and i was told not to post it publicly! but this one is another one of my faves, here (don't thank me, just give op some love!!):

Hello! I hope this isn't too much of a loaded question, but do you have any general tips for writing? I'd like to give fanfic writing a shot at some point.
Not at all! I'm always happy to talk shop about writing! As far as general tips go, there are some things that I think everyone could benefit from, so I'll try to condense my opinions and suggestions into A Numbered List. (We'll limit it to 5 suggestions for now).
Read Actively I mean this in the sense of really chewing on whatever it is you're reading. Dig into the meat of That One Paragraph and look for things you enjoy, things that tickle your brain. I'll give an example from something I read recently, which is our lovely @kookaburra1701's newest story "Aristeia" "They crested the final hillock; Mor Khazgur dominated the shallow valley below. When she had been younger, Borgakh had often imagined the longhouse was a lazy cat asleep on a bright green rug, curled up against the rocks of the Druadach Mountains. When the stronghold’s goats were pastured in the glade, they played the role of mice scurrying about under the cat’s nose." I was just ENAMORED by this passage. The whimsy, the rhythm of some the repeating consonants -- stronghold's goats, glade -- and just the imagery it drummed up, reminding me of those fanciful imaginings of my own childhood. So don't just read a lot, but read actively. Read works that inspire you, authors that impress you, and subject matter that's similar to the type of stuff you want to be writing. And think about why you like the things your like, and draw that inspiration into your own writing. Imitate your heroes until you're no longer imitating and it's just how you write.
Accept Constructive Criticism This one is always a challenge in the beginning. The Ego is a powerful little devil, and it'll try to confuse you. It'll tell you that your value is tied to the words on the page. But I'm here to tell you that YOU are NOT the words on the page. Take an objective stance on your prose and your plot. Everyone starts somewhere and (hopefully) nobody ever stops learning or improving. NOTE: Notice I said constructive criticism. This does not mean you should let people tear your work into shreds in bad faith. Listen to people who want to see you improve and also find joy in the craft of writing.
Read Your Writing Out Loud This is kind of self-explanatory. You'll get a really good feel for your own rhythm and flow VERY easily this way. And you'll catch almost any mistakes right away.
Cut All Unnecessary Words This is getting into the technical side of things, but why not? One of the first books I read on the craft of writing (whose title unfortunately escapes my mind at the moment) contained this advice, and it is STILL something I struggle with. Obviously, when you have a character with a specific voice, sometimes they get flowery in their internal speech and observations. I'll use Aiden as an example: "The fort loomed over them, massive and severe. Aiden attempted to judge the architecture and found he wasn’t quite sure what race or nation could have possibly built it. Or when it was built, for that matter. Second era, perhaps? The design seemed more Breton than Nord: austere, angular, and formal. But so close to the Velothi mountains, it could have been Imperial."  I bolded words that don't actually add anything of value to the descriptions here. We lose nothing by cutting them out. But they're how Aiden thinks about the world around him. So I keep them to give shape to his internal processing. I'd say to try to write without these kinds of flavor words first, then start adding them in. Learn the rules before you break them, or break the habit before it becomes the ONLY way you write.
Write Every Day This one is tough in the beginning, but it's so crucial to becoming a better writer. WRITE. EVERY. DAY. Even if it's just 200 words, do it. Make it your little morning ritual or evening wind-down. Pick a time that's just for you and your words. Close all your tabs, put your phone on silent, and just write. Be alone with the world that you are trying to create. And soon enough, you'll find that you can't go a day without writing something. And what a joy that is.
That's my list! I hope you found these tips useful! I also recommend reading books on the craft of writing, too.
Best of luck on your journey! You have infinite possibilities before you.

Woodworking projects are both creative and rewarding but require careful planning to achieve the best results. Whether you're crafting a simple shelf or a complex piece of furniture, having a step-by-step plan is crucial. Not only does this help avoid costly mistakes, but it also ensures that the finished product meets your expectations. In this guide, we’ll explore the essential steps for planning, preparing, and executing a successful woodworking project.
Step 1: Defining the Project Requirements
Before you start any woodworking project, the first step is to decide exactly what you’re aiming to build. Consider questions like:
What is the primary purpose of this project?
How much weight or capacity will it need to hold?
What design style will best suit the intended space?
Understanding these requirements allows you to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing piece tailored to its purpose.
Step 2: The Importance of Planning in Woodworking
Once you know what you want to build, it’s time to dive into the planning phase. Planning involves assessing three critical factors:
Time: Determine how much time you can realistically dedicate to this project.
Budget: Establish a budget for materials and tools, keeping in mind quality and longevity.
Resources: Check what materials and tools you already have, which can help cut costs.
This planning step is essential to set clear, achievable goals for your woodworking project.
Step 3: Writing Down Requirements and Specifications
Next, make a detailed list of your project’s requirements and specifications. For example:
The types of wood and hardware you’ll need
Exact dimensions for every piece of the project
A checklist of specific features or functions it must serve
Being specific in your requirements helps you avoid last-minute changes or unexpected problems during the building process.
Step 4: Creating Sketches and Detailed Plans
Sketching is a crucial part of visualizing your project. Draw a clear plan, even if it’s a rough sketch. Include measurements and part specifications, as these will guide you during construction. This stage is like a blueprint that brings your idea into a structured format.
Step 5: Choosing the Right Materials
The type of wood you select can significantly impact the project’s durability, appearance, and cost. Consider:
Softwoods: Ideal for lightweight or decorative projects.
Hardwoods: Durable and great for furniture meant to last.
Balance the quality of materials with your budget to ensure you’re getting the best value without compromising on the outcome.
Step 6: Tools Needed for Woodworking Projects
Depending on your project’s complexity, you may require various tools, from simple hand tools to more advanced power tools. Here’s a quick guide:
Essential Tools: Hammer, saw, chisel, measuring tape, and drill.
Advanced Tools: Power saw, router, planer, or jointer.
If possible, make plans that allow you to use the tools you already own to keep costs down.
Step 7: Tool Maintenance and Preparation
Good tool maintenance is vital for precise work. Before starting, check that each tool is in top condition. Sharpen dull blades, lubricate moving parts, and replace any worn or damaged pieces. Working with well-maintained tools ensures smoother cuts and better overall results.
Step 8: Executing the Woodworking Project
Now comes the most exciting part: execution! Follow your plan closely, making sure each measurement aligns with your blueprint. Avoid straying from your plan, as small changes can affect the entire structure.
Step 9: Adding a Proper Finish to Your Woodwork
A good finish not only enhances the wood’s appearance but also protects it. Finishes come in various types:
Stains: Add color while preserving the wood grain.
Varnishes: Provide a glossy finish and additional protection.
Choose a finish that complements your piece, as the right finish can elevate the look of your woodworking project.
Step 10: Final Assembly and Inspection
Once you’ve completed the main construction, it’s time for final assembly. Inspect each joint and fastener to ensure everything is secure. Look for imperfections or sharp edges and sand them down for a smooth finish.
Conclusion
Woodworking projects can be incredibly rewarding when done right. By following these steps, from defining requirements to adding the final finish, you’ll create pieces that are both functional and beautiful. Don’t be afraid to start small, as each project will help you gain skills and confidence.
FAQs

jupiter rx in the 2H: if you've been struggling to spend your money wisely, jupiter may send circumstances your way that limit your ability to excessively satisfy yourself. remember that there is a future you have to look forward to and prepare for. this period can also be extremely healing for our personal insecurities — let go of all the beliefs people have put on you and live your life freely
jupiter rx in the 3H: you'll find that vehicular repairs are less expensive during this transit, but don't sacrifice experience for a better cost. this retrograde can also cause you to question the morals of your siblings, extended family, roommates, and members of your community. be sure to take time meditating on these feelings so you don't quickly jump to conclusions
jupiter rx in the 4H: this transit will support efforts towards minimalism in the home and domestic life; whether that be slimming down the wardrobe, getting rid of trinkets that are unsentimental, freeing up more space on your walls. it's especially important to not lie to your family during this time as well, by the time jupiter stations direct it'll certainly catch up with you
jupiter rx in the 5H: during this time it's crucial to not brush off the questions your children have for you. make an effort to actively share your wisdom with them and educate yourself if you don't have the right answer available. this is also a good transit to look back and assess your own childhood; identify the experiences you feel have shaped your beliefs the most
jupiter rx in the 6H: try not to get caught up with any financial or political drama at work, you may end up getting wrongfully penalized or receive annoying, unnecessary criticism from others. it's also helpful to promote more circulation throughout your body during this time, especially the circulation of the throat, tonsils, and lymphatic system
jupiter rx in the 7H: be extremely observant and cautious if you decide to enter a legal contract with someone during this time; this retrograde station can make professional collaborators less trustworthy and prone to dishonest behavior. you may notice there's more of a 'gap to close' so to speak between you and your partner, don't try to fight emotional distance with emotional distance
jupiter rx in the 8H: this is an ideal time to handle any emotional weight that you feel has been 'stubborn' or hard to get through. issues surrounding shared resources, inheritances, debts, or status may need to be reassessed with a more experienced eye — try asking for support with these conflicts even though you may feel the need to keep them locked away from others
jupiter rx in the 9H: jupiter stationing retrograde here can make it difficult to connect with people over long distances: family, business partners, long-distance relationships. it can also make it harder to gain insight from spiritual leaders, legal counselors, or travel agencies. these difficulties will test your patience to show you what connections and journeys you are truly committed to
jupiter rx in the 10H: reflect on your ideas about purpose and what you feel you are meant to do. this is a great time to recommit yourself to a different career path or rethink the state of your current profession. jupiter stationing retrograde in this house can represent a change of beliefs surrounding your line of work, whether that be spiritual, political, social, etc.
jupiter rx in the 11H: networking over social media can become less reliable and enjoyable. old feuds with friends about lies or disloyalty can reappear during this period — try being straightforward, but unhurtful when addressing these issues (as jupiter is in taurus, the sign of smoothness). this is also an excellent time to identify any unfairness or selfishness in your relationships
jupiter rx in the 12H: jupiter's retrograde in this house can skew our intuition and sense of judgment. look to written words, context clues, and logic whenever you find yourself struggling with your inner voice. expect confusing dreams, especially those that are connected to nature, prayer, travel, honesty, self-esteem, possessions, etc.

The Soviet cultural machine advanced a limited view of Prymachenko. She was cast as a “naive old lady in a headscarf,” one who merely painted flowers and fanciful beasts, as art historian Oksana Semenik writes in her monograph accompanying the exhibition. It is unclear whether the Soviet elite failed to see the darker and more subversive spirit of Prymachenko’s paintings, or merely wanted to avoid drawing attention to it. Regardless, such a reductive view misses a crucial part of what makes Prymachenko’s work extraordinary.
Pain, fear, and loss figure surreally in many of her paintings, suggested by her use of dark colors, the looks of alarm or menace on the faces of some creatures, and their often uncanny, creepy forms. For Prymachenko, her art was a way to represent the horrors she had witnessed, particularly during the Second World War. “I spent so much time thinking about that war—hours, days, difficult years. I always wanted it to be preserved in my paintings,” she said. “I depicted the war itself, which I saw with my own eyes, its beastly guts.” Even a painting that at first glance may seem cheery can host a lurking threat: “Above everything shines the sun, which resembles a sunflower, but also a clawed beast,” wrote the literary critic Tamara Hundorova.
Prymachenko’s work also manages to engage critically with the Soviet system. Some of her most mesmerizing paintings are the ones she made in the aftermath of the nuclear catastrophe at Chornobyl. The disaster unfolded close to home, literally: Prymachenko’s village of Bolotnya is about thirty miles from the site of the meltdown, and the artist, then in her late seventies, disregarded the Soviet authorities’ guidance to evacuate. One of the most powerful paintings in this series on display at the Ukrainian Museum is a flower-filled homage to the fourth reactor at the Chornobyl power plant. The petals and stems are arranged in beautiful symmetry, recalling Prymachenko’s early embroidery. Doves fly above the reactor while children dressed in traditional Ukrainian clothing bring flowers to lay at its base. The scale of the splendor in the painting conveys the loss at its heart. Evidently, the Soviet authorities feared the impact of that message: none of Prymachenko’s Chornobyl work was made public until after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Prymachenko often added long and revealing captions to her work as her career progressed, employing idiosyncratic grammar in her local Polissyan dialect. At turns lyrical, sarcastic, and heartfelt, they are an art all their own. One caption, written on the back of her Chornobyl painting, is especially moving: “This is how the fourth reactor came to me in a dream. Flowers will grow on it. And children will bring flowers. Everything around it will be like a memorial forever. Doves will fly our heroes saved us left us.”
If the Ukrainian Museum show has a weakness, it’s that the titles and captions of the bulk of the paintings on view can only be accessed via a QR code—and only in simplified form. Take, for example, the painting the museum refers to as Mr. Reagan, Look at This Picture. The work is a Prymachenko beast par excellence—a red, scaly creature with a single penetrating eye and big teeth about to chomp down on a tiny frog. Prymachenko’s full caption reads: “Mister Reagan, look at this picture and understand how heavy and burdensome and foolish the atom is. Take a look and make peace with us so there will be peace on Earth. The atom is beautiful, if you toy with it, you can say goodbye to your family.” There’s a lot to unpack here: the beast, at once ugly and beautiful, could be a nuclear superpower about to crush a delicate creature (the atom? humanity?) in its powerful jaws. But without the full caption, visitors miss these suggestive layers.
Some of Prymachenko’s imagery may have been dark and disturbing, but we shouldn’t assume that her art was fundamentally pessimistic. Rather, it helps Ukraine’s historical traumas find new expression—and even new meaning—as they are confronted, honored, played with, and transcended.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess launches in 2024
From Gematsu
Tumblr media
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store in 2024, Capcom announced. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.
Get the latest details below, via Xbox Wire.
A New Tale of the Kami Awaits
The story begins when the legendary Mt. Kafuku is covered by an evil defilement and the 12 masks, including their special powers, are stolen. Our protagonist, Soh, must work together with Yoshiro, the Maiden with divine powers, to purge and cleanse the villages of the defilement. The masks worn by Soh and the villagers each feature a different divine power, and these powers are the key to protecting Yoshiro. As you cleanse additional villages from their evil defilement, you’ll recover more masks and work together with the various villagers that each mask unlocks to bring Mt. Kafuku back to its original beauty.
Strategic Actions with Dancing Swords and Commands
The game combines the exhilarating action of “dancing swords” with the strategic element of deciding which villagers will join you on your journey to cleanse each village. The cycle of preparing for battle during the day and protecting the Maiden and the village from evil spirits of the mountains (“The Seethe”) at night is critical to Soh’s success. Let’s look at the gameplay during both day and night. During the day, explore the village, purge defilements, and rescue villagers so they can join you in battle. Repair contraptions to give you an advantage against The Seethe’s attacks at night. The rescued villagers will fight alongside Soh – but the decision on which power to grant to each villager is up to you. Different masks will grant different powers that help some villagers excel at close-range attacks, while others can heal your crew. Think strategically about which villagers you enlist and where to station them ahead of battle. For example, those with superior melee attacks on the front lines, with long-range attackers in the rear. Use the terrain to your advantage, prepare your positions, and get ready for epic battle once the moon begins to rise. Each village features the recognizable Torii gates, and ultimate success is decided upon whether Yoshiro, the divine Maiden, can successfully pass through those gates before she faces defeat at the hands of The Seethe. But watch out! Each Torii gate is connected to an evil universe, providing an entrance for The Seethe. Guide Yoshiro to the Torii gates to purge the defilement and save the village. How to use time wisely before sunset is crucial. In addition to time management, players must strategize for their battle at night. The players’ strategies alongside resource and time management skills are put to the test. Nightfall brings a distinct blend of intense action and real-time strategy. Protect the Maiden from the oncoming threat of The Seethe by commanding your enlisted villagers while simultaneously doing battle, facing off against The Seethe with Soh’s unique dance-like sword attacks. In the trailer, you also got your first look at “Kagura” – traditional “dances” derived from the Shinto religion in Japan that has been passed down from generation to generation to purify the defiled. Both Yoshiro and Soh perform Kagura in their own notable ways. We have named this unique action, in which the player purges the defilement by “dancing,” the “Dancing Sword Action.” Need to change strategies on the fly? Each villager can be reassigned new roles and repositioned throughout the village any time at night. Protect Yoshiro by making critical calls and decisions in this ever-changing environment.
The Seethe: Evil Spirits Called Upon by the Defilement
The Seethe take many different demonic shapes and forms, with various attacks and abilities. Each enemy is inspired by various Japanese yokai – a catchall word for all manner of ghosts, shapeshifters, demons, monsters, and more – and historic folklore. The Seethe, designed carefully by the director, offers an inside look at the dark aesthetic that immerses Soh and the villagers throughout each night’s battle. And if The Seethe aren’t enough, the latest gameplay trailer revealed the even more powerful “Festering Seethe.” Catch this intense battle against the Festering Seethe!
Hear From Director Shuichi Kawata
“I hope you enjoyed the new trailer for Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess! It’s been a while since the title was announced last year, but I hope the new gameplay you just watched was worth the wait. After releasing Shinsekai: Into the Depths four years ago, we’re ready to open a new chapter for players around the world to enjoy. “This game features a very distinct blend of action and strategy genres and takes strong inspiration from various elements of Japanese culture. With all of that, we’re excited (and maybe a little nervous…in a good way!) to have everyone experience this game. “We are currently in the final stages of development, and the team is working hard to be able to deliver the best experience this game can offer, so we hope you look forward to it.”

hi sorry same anon as the previous message!!! i forgot to ask if you have advice on how to improve writing akdhfbskdjdb apologies if this is annoying IM SORRY AJSHDISH
Anon! You need to stop being so sweet pls because I'm already too flattered. I answered your first few questions here and wanted to do this separately because I know I'm going to go on lmao feel free to ignore me (also it's not annoying at all, never ever, don't apologise for asking questions when you are curious about things! Especially when you're asking about something that someone is interested in!)
So: how do we improve our writing? From my perspective, it's a continuous process. Writing is one of those great pursuits where there's no single way to be better/good/successful, and your metric of what it means to "improve" can be entirely personal. By that, I mean improvement depends entirely on what your writing goals are.
My writing goals are about expressing my ideas about things which I see as integral to myself, capturing human experiences which ring true or resonate, and experimenting with genres/subjects. The things which I feel help improve my confidence in executing these goals are:
Reading! Reading anything and everything! Reading out of your comfort zone! Read literary prize winners. Read children's books. Read best sellers. Read indie pubs. Read short stories, and memoir, and poetry. There's no lesson as good as absorption, and reading across demographics, genres, and forms will help you understand your own writing philosophy so much better
Read like a writer. Reading for entertainment is obviously so lovely and fun, but try to coach yourself into the habit of looking closely at the writing as you read: what is the writer trying to do? How are they trying to do it? Are they achieving their intent? Look at how the sentences work together and think about the effect that is having on you as a reader. Is there an identifiable author or character voice? How have they constructed it? What tones are the writer working with, and how are they achieved? If you like what they're doing, why do you like it? And if you don't... why not?
Show people your work, and seek critique. Obviously this should be people you trust, whose knowledge and ability you trust as well. It's nice to have friends read your work and hype you up, but can they be constructive with you? Do you trust their advice? It's also really important that the people who give you critique can give you actionable notes which are focused on what your intent with the piece was, not on their own preferences. It's your choice whether you accept these notes, but remember they're trying to help you!
Show people your work for creative stimulation! This is more about vibing with people on a creative level and talking about what writing can do, your ideas, your writing philosophies, influences/inspirations, etc. Having creative friends to talk about your art with is crucial to feeling challenged and inspired! And they don't have to be writers, either. Bonding and connecting with other people over the process of creation will improve and develop your own process.
Edit with a critical eye. I said in the other reply to you that I do a "rolling edit", which basically means that up until I've "finished" something I'm reading it over and over and over. I'm a huge advocate for reading aloud and listening closely to what the sentences sound like, which I think really helps with the flow of a piece. Keep your aim for the piece in mind, and ask yourself whether everything you've written is contributing to that. If you think that something could be better, highlight it and come back to it later. Lots of highlights and lots of edits isn't a sign of bad writing; it's actually a sign of good writing, because you're thinking consciously about what you're doing.
Study it. Studying writing in a formal capacity is definitely a privilege, but learning about writing isn't out of reach for everyone. There are online workshops, there are video tutorials, there are books, there are in-person workshops! People write blogs! Writers do interviews! Podcasts! Substacks! There are so many avenues for free, accessible education about writing craft—a creative writing degree isn't the only way to learn it. I say this confidently as a person with a creative writing degree.
Practice! Experiment! Imitate! It's a pretty good writing exercise to pick a writer with a distinctive style and write a paragraph trying to emulate that (not to share or publish, to be clear. It's a developmental activity! Imitating other people's styles is a way to learn, but it's pretty fucking rude to claim another writer's style as your own work). Have a go at writing something short in a genre you've never considered before. Play with the same idea in different ways - write the same idea in different genres, or from different POVs. None of this needs to be shared, which is the great thing! But also, you may discover something that feels right to you and that you want to expand into a more developed piece.
This is so fucking long and rambly, but hopefully there's something in here that boosts you, anon. I haven't touched on anything technical because that's a whole other discussion to me, and I've definitely gone on enough. Anyway, thank you for the question! As you can probably tell, I loved it and I'm so appreciative to you for taking an interest <3
