Troublemaker
Pairing: Platonic! Jason Todd x Young! Reader
Genre: Fluff, Established Frienship
Summary: Young Y/N is friends with Jason. Reader gets into a troublesome fight at school and Jason is there to help. Warnings: Canonic level of violence, Bullying
Word Count: ~900
Request: But I was hoping to ask for a jason todd x reader (but it's platonic bc reader is younger (if thats ok) and they're just friends). But the reader is kinda like a gremlin child (short, shot tempered, loud, always doing parkour, not afraid to get into a fight). And one day they get into an unfair fight with her school bullies, so jason kinda had to come and request them? (Que jason lecturing her on why she shouldn't get into fights as if he's not a vigilante)
A/N: Sorry for taking forever to write this! I hope it’s good enough. Also thank you for 200 followers! Pic from pinterest. Enjoy the fanfic!
The sun set over the tall buildings spanning across your view. You sat at the top of your parent’s apartment complex as you saw a familiar red helmetted figure head towards you. “Hey, how’s things been kiddo?” He asked moving to sit next to you. “It’s been alright,” You shrugged as you turned to glance at him as he removed his helmet and put it aside. “That’s fair, well I brought you a slushie, it’s your favorite flavor,” He replied handing you a drink. “Thanks, Jay,” You smiled at him as you took it from it.
Taking a sip of it, and sure enough it was your favorite flavor. You were glad you had this friendships with Jason. He always cheered you up on your worst days and offered some semi-questionable advice always ready for you. Not that you cared if it was questionable, as you yourself were a questionable figure. Your school definitely didn’t like you as you had no problem standing up for yourself even if you erred on the side of being a little reckless.
Finishing off your slushie with sun now fully set, you put your cup down and leaned on Jason. “I wish I could go out vigilanting like you,” You huffed as he chuckled. “Maybe when you’re older kiddo. It is dangerous work, yknow,” He replied as you pouted. “I know but I’m pretty sure I could handle it,” You retorted as he sighed and ruffled your hair. “I’m sure you could, but it’s better to not go looking for trouble, trust me,” He said a little solemnly as paused before nodding. Maybe when you were older you could more thoroughly convince him.
“Alright well, speaking of, I need to get back on duty,” He spoke as he moved to put his helmet back on. “Okay, I’ll see you later then!” You replied as you moved to stand up. “Yup, see you then,” He replied as you waved at him and he gave a wave back. “Bye!” You called out to him as he set off. Turning around you picked up your cup and headed back inside to your parent’s apartment.
The next day, you were at school and eating lunch outside when a group of people who you stood up to recently decided today was the day to fuck with you. You watched observingly as they stalked towards you. “You wanna apologize for your words punk?” One of them called out as you put down your food and gave them a questioning glance. “Why would I?” You replied as you shrugged. “Pff, look at this loser trying to be tough,” One of them chuckled before another shoved your shoulder. “Hey! Apologize or do you want to be taught a lesson?” He shouted as you raised an eyebrow at him.
“Seems like you need a lesson in hygiene,” You retorted before trying to go back to your meal. “Alright, that’s it,” He called before pushing you to the ground. Sighing you pushed yourself up as the four circled you. One punched you in the face which you wiped away with your hand. You threw practiced punches and kicks at them and managed to get some good blows in but there were too many of them. For every blow you landed, two more landed on you.
That is until you saw a wash of red above the school. You grinned knowing who it was as the group questioned you. “Why’re you smiling loser?” “Do you like being shown your place, huh?” They shouted. “No, they’re just happy to see a friend,” Jason called out as they turned towards him and saw his iconic red helmet. “Oh shit,” One of them mumbled. “Indeed, oh shit,” He replied stepping towards them. As he did one of three of the kids ran away to a safe distance but the leader just stared at him with unwavering eyes.
Quickly grabbing you in a lock the kid stared at him and squeezed your throat tightly. “Go home, this is between us,” He called out to Jason as he cocked his head at the kid. “Yeah, no,” He replied shortly before throwing a disarming blow to the kid. The boy stumbled back after he let go off you and clutched his injury. “Now run off,” Jason called as the kid seethed but listened and ran off to his friends.
Once the kids were out of sight, he turned to you. “Are you alright?” He asked as he looked your over for any major injuries. “Just a few scrapes and brusises,” You shrugged. “That’s better than anything worse but you should still get those looken at,” He replied as you huffed. “If you say so,” You responded as he put his hand on your shoulder. “I do say so, and you really shouldn’t be taunting them like you were. It’s best to avoid conflict when possible,” He scolded as you chuckled.
“You were there for that huh?” You asked as he sighed and nodded. “Yes but this isn’t any laughing matter. You could’ve been seriously hurt,” He replied as you gave him a smirk. “That’s why you’re here aren’t you? To keep that from happening?” You teased. “Still. Try to stay out of it next time,” He said sternly. “Fine, fine, I promise,” You replied holding your hands up in mock defense.
“Now what do you say to getting a quick check up and some ice cream? I’m sure I can get you back before anyone notices you’re gone,” He offered as you smiled up at him. “That sounds great Red,” You replied.

Will It Ever Be The Same? P.1
Ok I made the first part of this idea I had that was going to be a one shot but it was getting kinda long so here's what I've got so far!
The beginning was a trip for me to write/edit when I decided to change the tense it was in 🥴 So forgive any mistakes, I’ve read and edited this as many times as I physically could handle before I got tired of the words on the screen :)
Enjoy ~
Fandom: Blood of Zeus Pairing: Seraphim x Fem! Reader Word count: 4.5k+ words Warning(s): 16+, Mentions of violence and death, Angst, Fluff, (More might be added over course of writing)
Summary: Seraphim saved you from a pair of boys when you were young and from then on your friendship grew. Everything was perfect till disaster struck, causing you to flee. It’d be 10 year till you saw each other again. Will this rekindled friendship grow to be much more or will it end in disaster once again?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The midday sun was high in the sky, beating down on the flooded marketplace. There were stall keepers hollering their offers and deals that blended together with the rest of the nonsensical crowded chatter. “Make sure you keep up with me. You wouldn’t want to get lost again.” The boy's mother said, giving him a knowing glance as he refocused on their path.
He stood in a shaded bit by the shop hut as his mother was exchanging herbs and spices for coin pieces. His attention was then drawn to the sound of children yelling.
“Hey, wait up guys!” A girl, younger than he, yelled winded as she chased after a pair of boys.
“Leave us alone! We don’t want a girl with us, you’re too slow!”
“Yeah so go away.” A boy with sandy hair added as he shoved the girl to the ground. The duo started to laugh and make fun of her as she began to cry.
“Well that’s not very nice.” The boy’s mother said, breaking his attention. He turned to her with a raised brow.
“Well not like we can do anything about it.” He shrugged, about to walk away.
“Seraphim.” He stopped. “You should always try to help others if you can.” She smiled at him, sweeping her palm over his hair as she walked past him to the next stall. Letting out a huff he glanced up at the back of her head then back to the girl crying in the dirt.
Walking over to the two boys still joking and laughing he strode right up to the sandy haired boy and shoved him to the ground with a hard thud. “What the heck! What was that for?”
“Now you know how it feels to be pushed in the dirt.” With his hands on his hips Seraphim looked down at the boy then up to his accomplice - who took a step back.
“Whatever.” The boy stood up, dusting himself off. “Let’s get out of here, he can deal with her.” The two of them scampered off through the crowd as Seraphim turned to the sniffling girl.
Looking up she saw his extending hand. Hesitantly she reached for it and got up. “I’m… Seraphim.” He introduced awkwardly as she whipped away the remaining tears and snot on her sleeve.
“I’m Y/n.” She stuttered. “Thanks for helping me.”
“Yeah it was whatever. My mom said it’s good to help people so… that’s why I did it.” He scratched his head and looked around like he wished to be elsewhere than in silence with the snot nosed girl. “Well I’m gonna go, bye.”
“Wait!” She interjects. Twisting her hands together she then shook her head and looked down. “Nevermind.” Seraphim looked at her for a second more and before he could say or do anything else he heard his mother’s voice.
“Seraphim are you ready- Oh hello.” She smiled before looking down at her son. “I saw that some boys were giving you trouble. I hope my son wasn’t one of them.” Seraphim tsked and looked at his mom, a small curve of her lip grew while she kept her gaze towards the girl.
“Oh, no. He actually helped me, he pushed the boy that hurt me and got them to leave.” Seraphim gave a nervous smile to his mom when she raised a brow at him.
“Well I’m glad my boy could help you. I’m Ariana, would you like to join us for lunch?” His mother asked, which caused Seraphim’s head to whip towards her but she just chuckled sweetly.
“Uh, I don’t want to be a bother…” the girl trails off meekly glancing at the dark haired boy before looking to the ground.
“Nonsense! We would love to have you join us. Right Seraphim?” She places her hand on his bare shoulder.
“Yeah, sure.”
~~~
Seraphim’s mom directed the two of you to go hangout in the shade as she gathered a few more things.
Sitting under a tree, Ariana’s back still in sight, you and Seraphim were in silence. He was standing with a stick in hand, prodding the ground and loosely swinging around like a sword as you ran your fingers in the grass picking at the small white flowers littered about. Growing bored you asked, “How old are you?”
“Twelve.” He responded, crouching down to look in the dirt.
“Oh well I’m ten.” You started to feel like he didn’t want you around because the conversation just teetered off from there.
About 15 minutes later you heard Seraphim’s mom “Okay, are you two ready to get some lunch going?” She smiled at the two of you. Walking a bit ahead of them you noticed Ariana whispering to her son before she directed you towards the entrance of the forest. “This way, my dear.”
After walking for about 10 more minutes you were in a clearing with a river and a small cave. “Wow, do you guys live here?” You asked, looking at the pretty flowers around the edges.
“Yes we do. You know Seraphim was gonna catch us some fish, if you’d like, I’m sure he’d enjoy the help.” You turned to join them by the river and you heard Seraphim give a quiet whine.
“Mom I can do it myself.” His mother just shook her head and walked away to get things together in their rock home. Then it was just you two. Again.
Maybe I should just go help his mom instead You thought, as you turned to walk away Seraphim interrupted you.
“Where are you going? Aren’t you gonna help me?” He asked, looking up from the spear he was sharpening with a pointed look.
“Oh I thought I could go help your mom. I don’t want to get in your way.” Standing up with a small huff he walked away towards the hut leaving you alone by the river. A few minutes later he arrived back, breaking your thoughts as he stuck the base of a spear in the ground next to you, his other hand holding another.
“Here. Now you can actually help me instead of standing around.” He leaned it towards you to take with a trace of a forced smile on his lips.
So for the next hour you were practically just standing in awe of how Seraphim stood in the gentle flowing river looking for fish and throwing his spear in the water. He even tried to teach you the best way to catch fish as well. “You want to make sure you don’t disrupt the water too much when you move or you’ll scare them away.” You just nodded and focused on what he is doing in hopes to replicate it.
Standing in the middle of the river a few pases away from the boy you suddenly felt something slippery touch your ankle. Letting out a squeal Seraphim looked at you just in time to see you fall back in the water.
“Something just touched me!” Looking up with eyes the size of dinner plates, you just saw Seraphim laughing. Really laughing, with his spear in the water using it as a crutch as his head reared back. “What’s so funny?” You asked, your face began to heat up.
“It was just a fish you scaredy cat.” He said between laughter. “Are you okay?” He walked over to you offering a hand, much like he did earlier in the day but much warmer than before.
Standing up dripping wet you decided you were done “fishing” for one day. Besides, Seraphim had already caught five fish to your zero.
Walking back to the cave where a fire has been made you sat on a log.
A hand rested on your shoulder, “Here Y/n. How about you change into this and we can lay your clothes out to dry.” Ariana said, handing you what looks to be one of her simple cotton dresses. You accepted it and trudged into the cave to do so. The dress, as you expected, was way too big on you. You had to hold the skirt up so it wouldn’t drag on the ground as you made your way back to the fire pit. Seraphim was roasting the fish over the fire, snorted when he saw your new attire. You were right to think you looked ridiculous. “Y/n, you look lovely. Doesn’t she?” Ariana gave her son a look.
“Yup, she sure does.” He said, trying to hold back another chuckle. You just rolled your eyes at him and took a seat.
Ariana laid your drenched clothes out on a giant rock that was soaked in the sun's rays.
From there everything went quite smoothly. You actually ended up spending the rest of the day with them till the sun was beginning to hang low above the horizon. You honestly had so much fun. Once the newness between you two wore off it became much easier to talk and play.
After your clothes weren’t soaking wet anymore you spent much time after eating, running around in the forest and even playing in the river looking for cool rocks.
But all things have to come to an end at some point.
“Y/n, don’t you need to head home? It’ll be nightfall before you know it.” Ariana reminded the two of you of the time. As you walked back to the cave you thanked the woman for allowing you to stay. “It was not trouble. You’re more than welcome to come back anytime, I’m sure Seraphim would enjoy the company as well.” She smiled. The boy in question looked at her.
“Mom!” He whispered, embarrassed.
“Oh hush now. You should walk her home, make sure she gets back safe.” His mom nudged him forward as she left you two.
At that point walking side by side wasn’t too weird anymore. “Thanks for letting me play with you.” You said.
“Yeah, it was fun.” He smiled.
A few times throughout your journey home the two of you got side tracked, to look at different rocks, flowers and even by an animal passing by.
“That’s my house over there.” You pointed towards a modest cobblestone hut with a straw roof. “Thanks, again.”
Standing at the door Seraphim gave you a nod. “You’re welcome. See ya.” He turned but you stopped him.
Wait, would you like to- Maybe we can hang out again? There’s a place over here that has a lot of rocks. Maybe you can find some for your collection?” You said, wringing your hands together, admittedly a nervous tic. He thought about it for a few seconds then nodded his head again.
“Sure, that sounds cool. But I should go now before my mom worries. See ya later Y/n.” He said with a slight smile and wave.
~~~
The next few weeks you and Seraphim began hanging out more and more till it became an everyday occurrence. After the first week Seraphim’s mom wasn’t even surprised by your presence.
“Good, you two are just in time to help me pick apples.”
That day you met their bears. It came as quite a startle when you just saw a bear walking up from behind Seraphim. “Oh my god, there's a bear!”
“Don’t worry, these guys won't hurt you.” He said as he scratched the animal next to him. Taking a few experimental steps forward, the bear accepted your touch when Seraphim guided your hand atop the creature's head. It’s black fur was so soft you couldn’t help but wrap your fingers in it and smile. Then not only did you have Seraphim to play with but also a few adorable bear cubs to pet and roll around with as well.
~~~
Though all this joy would soon come to an end a few short weeks later.
You and Seraphim were fishing in the river a bit away from his home. That day he brought his bow and you your spear. You were actually getting better and even managed to catch one that day. Heading back to the camp laughing Seraphim stopped abruptly making you bump into him. “Hey, wha-”
“Shh.” He cut you off. You felt uneasy by the seriousness on his once smiling face. You heard male voices and then a woman’s cry. Sticking close behind him, he crept around the lightly wooded area of your destination. Peering through the foliage of the forest you saw that it was Seraphim’s mother who cried and she was with company that seemed less than welcomed. There was a group of men holding swords talking to Ariana that was kneeling on the ground before one of them.
“Where’s the boy?” The man barked.
Seraphim? You look at your friend, his eyes glued on his mom. The grip on his bow tightened.
“I swear there is no one here but-” Her pleas are cut off by a sharp smack, you saw Seraphim’s body tense as if he was about to stand up. You grabbed the cloth around his waist to silently stop him, your eyes pleading. He glared at you, eyes locked. As you are growing more frightened you can see the fire in him was building.
Your staring contest was broken by a new voice. There was another woman the man referred to as Ariana’s sister. Your blood ran cold when you witnessed her apologizing before one of the men stabbed their sword through the back of her neck. Covering your mouth your eyes began to brim over with tears. Seraphim’s reaction was just as shocked till he saw another man grab his mother’s neck, strangling her.
Pulling out one of the arrows he readied his bow, his mother looked at the two of you with worry filled eyes. They were screaming for you to run, to leave before the two of you were hurt. Which was exactly what everything inside you was telling you to do but your body felt numb and unable to move. You were then soon brought back to earth when Seraphim released the arrow into the back of that man’s skull, the head sticking out his mouth.
Before climbing the tree he shoved you to the ground. “Get out of here!” His command startled you. You couldn’t just leave him.
After that everything happened so fast it felt like daze. First the bears you’ve played with countless times charged in mauling the men as Seraphim shot arrows at others. Then everything slowed when you saw your friend racing towards his mother as the man in charge grabbed her and sliced his blade across her throat, a wicked grin you’ll never forget played on his lips. Your heart broke for the loss for your friend and from his cry.
You wanted to look away or run, anything besides watching this nightmare playing out before you. The family you found was getting cut down one by one. The bears, Ariana, and all that was left was Seraphim.
You wanted to scream. Get to him. Anything to stop what was happening in front of your eyes. But you couldn’t. What could’ve you done? You could barely catch a fish without Seraphim’s help so you were forced to watch him face off against a grown man with a sword. This can’t be happening! Run! Your mind was pleading but you were frozen in fear once again. No matter how much you prayed to the gods it was all a dream and to make it stop, it didn’t.
Then in a horrifying moment you witnessed the vicious man’s blade strike down Seraphims face. He fell and so did you. Hiding behind the bushes your palms cupped over your mouth, trying to muffle your tears and quickened breath. Then once more a fire was lit under your ass when you heard more screams from the men and the roar of another bear. This time you got up and ran like Seraphim told you to. Glancing back all you saw was someone riding away on a horse and the blurred image of two figures crumpled on the ground.
~ 10 years later ~
For the past few years you’ve been working odd jobs where you can to earn coin. You’ve swept shop fronts, washed and fed horses, and stocked shop stalls with newly delivered goods.
At the moment you were working at a small tavern, filling drinks and cleaning tables.
You were out front serving a couple when you heard some commotion.
“Hey! Watch where you are going asshole!” A man yelled to another.
Probably just a drunk that wasn’t watching where he was going and is looking for a fight. The man just tsks, “Freak.” Before walking past you. Looking up, you catch a glimpse of the man he was referring to as he was pulling his hood back up. You paused.
That guy-
But you’re pulled from your thoughts by a voice. “Excuse me.” An older woman calls you, cup held up. You sighed and got back to work.
~~~
Another long day of work is over, thankfully. “Okay, I’m heading home. See ya tomorrow.” You wave to your friend as you leave through the back of the tavern. Turning the corner you see a large figure in a cloak. It resembles the man you couldn’t shake from your thoughts some weeks ago. You decide, against your better judgment, to take a detour and circle around a building hoping to be in a position to catch another look at his face. You don’t allow yourself a moment to really answer yourself as to why it was so important, you just let your legs guide the way.
Crossing the road, the evening sun casting it in a warm orange glow, you stopped at an abandoned stall that was shaded behind the building, trying to get a look of him from the corner of your eye.
Then your eyes locked!
You looked down and tried to walk away as nonchalantly as possible but you were stopped by a booming voice.
“Why are you following me?” The mystery man asks. You froze, turning on your heel to face him. You are about to respond when your words get caught in your throat. You must’ve looked like an idiot with your mouth ajar. It can’t be, can it? He gives a tsk as he begins to step away
“Seraphim?” You finally say. It came out as more of a whisper to yourself but he must’ve heard cause now it was his turn to freeze. You shake your head, That’s ridiculous! “I-I’m sorry. I must have the wrong-”
“How do you know my name?” He cuts you off, turning towards you, advancing a few steps. His build is much more threatening at a closer distance and his question certainly didn’t help. Though it was more of a command. You just open and close your mouth to find the words. Any words, literally anything at all would work just so you could stop looking like a fool that hit their head. Which you might have because this can’t be happening.
“Is it really you?” He just squints his eyes. “You remember me right? We played together a lot as children.” You can tell your words have begun to sink in the more his eyes scanned you, his face drops. Standing there, nerves getting the better of you, you began to rub your palms together awaiting his response. You’d be relieved even if he just spat a “fuck you” in your face cause than atleast there wouldn’t be this deafening silence. Unable to keep his gaze you look away but you can still feel his eyes burning a hole into the side of your head.
“…Y/n?” He finally says. Your name travels hesitantly past his lips. You feel like you might pass out or scream or just simply cry cause it’s him. It’s really him!
His expression reads the same as yours. For a final silent second of looking over each other you take a tentative step towards him, he stays like a statue.
Standing before him you think about touching him.
He is just like you remember, minus the height and strong build, his tanned skin and long brown hair you were always so jealous of. Though when your eyes reach his face yours falls, he notices and turns his away slightly.
His eye.
The right one is the same hue of obsidian as you remember but his left is cut through with a scar and left white.
That must have been from that day. You shudder at the thought.
Reaching up your palm grazes his cheek, he stiffens from your touch. You don’t know why you did that. Maybe you just needed proof that this wasn’t all a dream. That your old friend really is flesh and blood before you.
Turning his gaze to yours, you tilt your head taking him in. He really is the Seraphim you remember just… hardened.
“I- I thought you died.” You say, voice threatening to cry, because perhaps some part of him did that day and in the years apart.
He stays silent a moment longer, you assume it’s due to the similar shock you’re feeling. But then he pulls your hand away before turning. “You’d be better off keeping it that way.”
His body moves further into the shadows and you feel your blood begin to heat up. Does he really think he can just walk away like that?
Stomping after him you catch his shoulder and spin him back towards you, his brows raised. “What’s the big idea? What do you mean I should keep it that way?” Your hands are on your hips, chest is heaving. Unsure as to why you’re reacting like this you just keep your eyes locked with his.
“Do you have any idea how many nights I spent beating myself up for not going to you? The countless years I’ve spent wishing I could see you again? Just for you to tell me, now that that would be possible, that it’s better that I think you dead?”
After your outburst your arms drop to your side. You look up hoping to halt the tears threatening to seep out and just when you were about to tell him to forget it he responds.
“I don’t know what you’re hoping for Y/n but -” He trails off.
“You want to know what I was hoping for? That you were alive and I could see you just one last time even if that was all I’d be allowed.” You let out a breathy chuckle. “Call it pathetic if you want but… you were my only friend and I missed you. I mean it became pretty lonely without you.” You wipe away a loose tear that betrayed your will.
“Then what do you want?” He asks. You look back up with glossy eyes.
“Meet me tomorrow. I have work but I’ll be off two hours till nightfall and if either of us wants to leave after, then that will be that.” You say matter of factly with your hands on your hips. Another moment passes with him in silence. You let out a defeated sigh. “You know what, forget it.”
“I never said no.” His eyes bore into you in thought before continuing. “Meet me at the river.”
And that was it. He turned and walked back into the dimming streets, hood pulled high before you could say anything else.
So to say you were a bit shaken would be an understatement. Walking home you just kept replaying the image of his face and his voice.
He’s changed so much. Well of course he has, it's been a decade since you last saw him. He’s practically a stranger at this point.
A stranger…
And you’re going to be meeting with said stranger at the river before dusk tomorrow. Leaning against the door of your home you knock the back of your head against the wood. Y/n, what have you gotten yourself into?
Getting through the door you just flop yourself onto your bed, not bothering to change. The whole night was spent tossing and turning thinking about the coming day.
This is a bad idea! You don’t even know him. I mean sure he is your friend but what if he isn’t the boy you remembered? What if things are weird? What if he’s... different?
You somehow managed to sleep, though your unconscious mind was still spinning with thoughts of Seraphim. You had a dream, a memory actually. One you almost forgot.
~~~
You were running around in the forest like you guys did countless times. But this time the two of you were ‘battling’ but you were doing a lot more running than fighting.
“Come back and face me! For I the mighty Seraphim will take you down!” The raven hair boy declared boisterously, making you laugh. The air was filled with the sound of rustling leaves and laughter from the two of you. You saw a clearing up a head which would make a perfect arena. However, you didn’t make it there before your foot got caught on an outstretched tree root. Tumbling to the ground you let out a small cry. “Y/n! Are you okay?”
Seraphim kneeled beside you on the damp earth. Looking you over he sees you clutching your knee to your chest. “Let me see it.” He said. You removed your hands to show him, you scraped your knee pretty badly. It was starting to bleed a little but nothing too unmanageable. “Stay here, I'll be right back.” He instructed before rushing towards his home.
About 10 minutes passed and your tears had stopped, though you were sure your eyes were red and your nose snotty. You hear rustling coming towards you and looking up you see the boy returning with a small pale of water and a cloth. “My mom is still at the market so this is the best I could do.”
He soaked the clean cloth in the water and started to wipe your wound. “OUCH!” Your knee jerked away from his touch.
“Sorry. But you need to wash it so it doesn't get worse.” You nodded your head and allowed him to continue. You kept wincing and hissing every so often.
Whilst cleaning your knee Seraphim saw you had a big splinter. “Uh this might hurt but I’ll do it quickly.” He tried to reassure you. Bracing yourself he took out the small piece of wood, you actually started to cry again - which felt embarrassing.
Once your knee was as clean as he could get it he then wrapped the clean side of the cloth around your knee. “Are you okay?” He asked, his onyx eyes laced with concern.
“Yeah, thanks.” you sniffle, wiping away the tears from your cheeks. Seraphim leaned towards you and placed a small peck on your cheek, which startled you. “What are you doing?”
“Uh, well I uh- you were hurt so I gave you a kiss better.” He hastily stuttered as he got up and dusted himself off. Without looking at you he extended his hand for you to take. “We should head back, my mom should be there by now.” He then took your hand and started walking back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow. Okey if you made it through that I hope you enjoyed it. This start feels a bit rocky but lets hope it only goes up from here 😅
I’m definitely more of a One shots & HCs kinda girl not a big Fic writer, perhaps that’s because I haven’t done much multi part/”chapter” writing before so 🤷🏻♀️
If you enjoyed this let me know your thoughts :3
You and Peter were young and in love. You started dating three months ago and you were still trying to learn more about each other. It was amazing that you could spend time with Peter. He would often come to your house because of projects that he had with your father, Tony Stark, but he would come over early so that he could spend more time with you alone.
* Bell rings *
"it's Peter" you hear from the other side of the door. You opened it and he opened his arms to give you a hug, picking you up off the floor, as he always did when he saw you. You weren't a very affectionate person but Peter's hugs were the best ever.
" So how was school?" you asked him still with both hands hugged behind his back.
" it was good. now check out this video camera I bought today!" he held up a camera similar to the one he had taken to Germany but a little more current.
he walked over leading you to the sofa.
You could see that he was super excited about the camera and you pretended to be super interested because you didn't want to hurt his feelings.
" Have you ever recorded a video to try it out?"
"No, I wanted to try it with you," he said
"okay" you grabbed the camera that was in his hands and started to record directing it to you two.
"This is a test of Peter Parker's new camera. How are you feeling today Peter?"
"Pretty good. I'm sitting next to the most beautiful girl in the universe and multi-universe. " he added
You looked at him and he looked at you. You two were quite shy people so you were often shy around each other.
"I love you Peter Parker"
" and i love you y/n Stark"
Peter turned off the camera and put it on the coffee table. He put a piece of hair out of your eyes and kissed you.
" I'm so lucky" he finally said
you pulled him in for another kiss, letting yourself fall back pulling him by his shirt, so that your body was glued to his. he continued kissing you.
he started touching you on your tights and leaving small kisses on your neck.
"I am not ready" you said in the middle of the kiss.
"oh, that's okay babe" he got up off you leaving you room to stand up
"I'm so sorry Pete. I just don't feel like it's time"
" it's ok y/n, i don't need sex to be happy with you" he said grabbing you by the hips and giving you another kiss.
"Well I'm going to make lunch, I'm starving." You went into the kitchen giving him a quick kiss.
You started to make macaroni and cheese. It was one of the dishes that you and Peter liked to eat the most when it was just the two of you.
"Movie night tonight?" you jumped when you heard his voice suddenly. You turned around and saw Peter holding the video camera.
"You scared me Pete. What the hell are you doing?"
"I'm testing the camera."
" again?"
"Yes, I have to be sure. " You frowned but ignored it because he loved to annoy you.
"So this is y/n Stark, who is also my girlfriend that I am deeply in love with and she is making macaroni and cheese!" he yelled when he saw you were doing one of his favorites
"you are such a dork" you joked
" a dork that you love to kiss" he whispered
You looked at him and you couldn't help but smirk
" food is ready, either you drop that camera or I will eat your part Pete" you said as he recorded your whole living room.
" what are you doing?" you asked
"oh I'm just recording this spectacular room of Mr. Stark. Look at that TV, wow"
" looks like this is your first time coming to the house Parker"
" no but it's the first time I pay attention to the house. When I'm here, I only have eyes for you."
His jokes were kind of cute.
he turned off the camera as soon as he said goodbye " bye". he then went to get his food and sat down in front of you. After you guys finished eating he turned the stupid camera back on.
"no, not again"
"I'm here with the brilliant chef Y/n Stark, tell us your secret Mrs. Stark."
" you are recording this for who babe? "
"Maybe for your father, so he can see what a brilliant daughter he has."
" my dad?" you laugh
" yeah, so he'll see how I treat his daughter"
" so, dad, Peter treats me super bad and there's not a day that he doesn't piss me off" you mocked him
he put his head to one side so he could look at you with his own eyes and smiled shaking his head
"that's completely untrue Mr. Stark" he said while you nodded your head in denial
" what makes you think that he is going to believe in you?!"
" maybe because i'm like his kid"
" And I AM is kid" you said
You two couldn't stop laughing as you tried to find ways to deny each other.
You got up and walked over to him and took the camera and turned it off and put it down on the table.
"I think the camera had enough tests for today" You sat on his lap brushing his hair back with your fingers. "yes I think she did," he said looking at you
"So, will you pay attention to me now?
" yes my lady" and he pulled you closer to a passionately kiss. " so what movie are we going to watch?" he asked
" You pick" you said
" okay, you said it " he picked you up and carried you to the couch.
You spent the whole afternoon watching movies until you fell asleep on the couch.
*when your father arrived with Pepper*
"This kids" he said shaking his head
"Leave them Tony," Pepper said
he looked at her and decided to leave you to sleep. he kissed you on the forehead and left you with Peter.
Hi can I request Headcanons for Genos from One punch man with a big crush with a gender neutral person, but keeping his feelings for himself because he wants to get his revenge before getting into a relationship (also ecause he's confused and never been in love before).
Also the person he's in love with is supper affectionate and motherly towards him. If you are ok with it. Thanks 😊
So this is going to have Genos’ POV, which will have triple spaces with an asterisk to mark the beginning and end of it. It was specifically asked for gender-neutral so that’s what it will be this time. This was also really fun to think about cause I always wondered what it would be like if Saitama had a neighbor instead of living in City Z by himself. Also, thank you guys for all the requests it’s been really fun to think about these and write these for you guys!
You were Saitama’s neighbor and you’d often bring him food for breakfast and dinner. You’d bring him lunch if he wasn’t out fighting monsters during the day. You started this routine after he saved you from a monster that was planning on eating you. You closed your eyes waiting for your end and it never came instead when you opened your eyes there was green slime all around you and a man in a yellow and red costume standing in front of you. You recognized his bald-headed man as your neighbor (who had hair a few days prior) and you wanted to thank him in any way possible and you realized he really liked your cooking. So, he keeps the building safe and in exchange you keep him fed. Simple. Or so you thought.
You saw (more heard) Saitama trying to kill a mosquito. A few hours later he came back. Naked, but back. The next morning you began making him breakfast when you heard someone outside. “Sensei!” No one comes to City Z because of how many monsters roam around out here. You found this interesting, but you knew that Saitama never hangs out with anyone except you occasionally. Later, you were about to knock on Saitama’s door to give him his food when you heard, “So I’m bald--what’s your problem?!” And you burst out laughing. Saitama opened the door knowing that you were outside now and probably with food. “Y/N stop laughing!”
*
When Saitama opened the door he saw you and didn’t know what was happening. He’s heard music before, but for some reason, your laugh sounded like the most captivating song he’d ever heard. You looked like an angel the way the sun had shown on you. He felt like he was malfunctioning. “I’m sorry Saitama, but the way you yelled that was too funny. I only came over to give you breakfast, but I’m glad I made the trip when I did. Oh, I didn’t realize you had friends over.” “Well, I feel like he’s gonna be here a while so I might as well introduce you. Y/N this is… uh… Gene?” “Genos.” “Yeah, Genos” “You’ll have to forgive Saitama, he won’t properly remember your name for a few days.” “Okay.”
*
Saitama doesn’t usually have people over other than you, but it’s nice seeing a new face especially here. Well, a new face that doesn’t want to eat you that is. But you have to admit Saitama’s friend is really handsome and seems like a pretty interesting person, but he’s probably as busy as Saitama as well. You probably won’t get to know him as well as you’d like to. “It was nice to meet you Genos! I’ll be on my way, Sai.” “Bye Y/N,” Saitama and Genos say in unison and you go home. “I wonder if I’ll see him more often? *sigh* I can only hope.”
It’s been about 3 months since you first met Genos and two of you have become quite close since meeting. You and Genos talk about plans you have for yourselves and talk about funny things that happened and how you met Saitama. You make him breakfast and dinner just like you do for Saitama only difference is that every once in a while he comes over to your place to eat and on a couple occasions stayed the night (because Saitama won’t let him in), but he’s more than welcome to come over whenever he likes to, which he does all the time because just like you, he loves spending time with you. He sometimes helps you cook breakfast and or dinner and is very helpful when portioning everything out, especially when it comes to making sure you get a fair amount of food instead of giving most if not all of it to him and Saitama.
“You need to eat to Y/N.” “Oh, I can just make myself something small. You don’t have to give me a bowl Genos. Besides you and Saitama need to stay strong to keep our homes safe.” “You mean to keep you safe. I couldn’t care less about a building, but I’d care a lot if you died. I don’t have my biological family anymore, but I have you, Saitama, and the Professor. Saitama can handle himself, which is why he’s my teacher and the Professor is far away from this. You’re the only person that I feel the need to protect and take care of and taking care of you means making sure you’re eating properly. So, here’s a bowl.” Saying that you were blushing was an understatement. You were redder than a red setting on an led light. “Uh… thank you, Genos.” “Of course, are you okay your face is red? Do you possibly have a fever?” “No! Could you just take these to Saitama? Thank you, Genos!” You slammed the door and he went over to give Saitama his food. “Ah, the food’s ready. Yum!”
*
Genos and Saitama ate in silence for a while before Genos started thinking about you. “Sensei, I think Y/N might be sick.” “Huh, why do you say that?” “We were talking and they suddenly got really red. The moment I said anything about it they pushed me out and shut the door.” “Genos. What did you say to Y/N exactly, but in fewer words.” Saitama knew that you had a crush on the robotic young man, but usually you were very subtle or didn’t let it show at all. So to hear that you looked like a beet (you looked worse, but he doesn’t need to know that) was surprising. “I told them that I care about them and that I need to protect them and I’m not here to keep the building safe, but to keep them safe.” Saitama was trying so hard not to laugh at Genos, but he couldn’t help it there were times he was oblivious, but this was just embarrassing. “I’ll go talk to them before I say anything to you about what I think. With that Saitama left to your place.
*
Unbeknownst to the other, you both were saying the same thing...
“I wonder if they like me?”
Loyalties
A Mitsuhide Akechi fanfic. Approx. 1700 words. Takes place in the romantic epilogue - spoilers!
First: Mitsuhide and the Maiden
Previous: Hero's Welcome
The next few weeks passed in a blur. Kyubei kept busy running messages between Mitsuhide and his city contacts, and fetching items for the chatelaine. Though he supposed she didn’t really hold that title now. Now she was . . . well, a princess of the Oda. Soon to be Lady Akechi, if the two lovers had their way.
In all the years he’d served Mitsuhide, Kyubei never saw his lord so at peace. Though he was confined to the manor and still under suspicion - officially - and they had years of work to make the ‘new’ shogun fit, he seemed . . . happy. He spent hours in the garden or in his room with his fiance. And in the halls, the servants could hear their laughter. It was such a change. One Kyubei firmly hoped would continue. But life had taught him that these moments were treasures because they were ephemeral. Sweet because they were rare.
He waited for the axe to fall because it was inevitable.
When trouble finally arrived, it came bearing a box of sweets and an angelic smile.
Kyubei welcomed Ranmaru with a slight bow, and showed him to the chatelaine’s room in Mitsuhide’s manor. Though she spent her nights with his lord, her days she spent here - sewing. This was her passion, and it showed in the quality of her work.
Ranmaru thanked Kyubei, and as the door slid shut, he was already chattering away about his day and the sweets he’d made.
***
Mitsuhide folded and sealed the last of the days missives. He stared at the pile of letters and sighed. As the left hand of Nobunaga Oda, his work was never really done. There would be more reports, more letters, more planning and orders to send . . . and his lands needed him as well. He had projects to authorize and titles to bestow. And all he wanted to do was to curl up beside his little one and remind her how much he loved her with a thousand kisses.
He stood and stretched. This time of day, she was probably in her room working. His little one didn’t know that he already knew about the haori she was making for him. It was her surprise and he wasn’t going to ruin it by admitting he’d seen it, albeit in pieces, already.
As Mitsuhide approached her room, he heard the sound of another voice, high and young and full of forced joy. Ranmaru. He knocked lightly before sliding open the door.
His beloved sat across from the page, a little tray between them. There were sweets and tea. A little wooden box sat open beside her.
“My little mouse, I didn’t know you had a guest.” Mitsuhide smiled at Ranmaru.
The page stood. “I was actually just about to leave. I only came to drop off this gift for the princess.” He gestured to the box of sweets.
“They’re really good,” she picked up a small, colored sweet. “Do you want to try one Mitsuhide?”
Ranmaru pretended a gasp. “My lady! Those are only for you.” He glanced at Mitsuhide out of the corner of his eye. “I made them myself - so you could enjoy them.”
She laughed. “Well then you can’t complain if I share.”
“It’s alright. Such things are wasted on me.” Mitsuhide kept smiling but something in his chest tightened at the glib expression on Ranmaru’s face.
“Well good. I want you to eat them all up! Then I’ll bring you something else next time I try out a new recipe.” Ranmaru tittered.
His glee was grating on Mitsuhide’s nerves. He knew the boy was a spy for the Kennyo and this forceful mask he wore in his role here was bothersome. Still, Mitsuhide had all but promised he wouldn’t out the abbot’s protege. “I’m sure she would like that,” he said, “now, let me walk you out. I want to send a message along to Nobunaga.”
“Bye Ranmaru! I hope you can visit again soon,” the princess called as they left.
Mitushide walked alongside Ranmaru, his mind turning over the facets of this relationship. He wanted the page to stay away but did not want to make an unsubtle threat. This needed a cautious touch.
“She’s a very trusting girl,” Ranmaru said into the silence between them. “She thinks the best of everyone. Even you.”
“And you.” Mitsuhide stopped, looking down at the bright-eyed page. “Why were you really here today?”
Ranmaru smiled wider. “To bring her a gift, as I said. She’s used to accepting things from my hand. She doesn’t even question where it came from. Or what might be in it.”
Mitsuhide felt something in him turn hollow. His mouth curved in a sharp smile. “I see.” He gestured toward the front entry. “Thank you for stopping in. I do hope you have a safe walk back to the castle. Azuchi can be a dangerous place.”
“I’m not worried.” Ranmaru’s fixed grin betrayed nothing. “Didn’t you have a message for Lord Nobunaga?”
“I’ve decided it would be best to speak with him in person.”
Ranmaru shrugged, his smile going a little crooked. Then he turned and left.
Kyubei appeared from a nearby doorway. “Should I . . .”
“No. But I will bring you what remains of these sweets. Check them carefully.”
“Yes my lord.”
Mitsuhide returned to his beloved. She appeared fine. In high spirits after her visitor, even. She didn’t mind it when he sent the remaining goodies to the kitchen, suspecting nothing.
“Do you like Ranmaru very much?”
His little mouse laughed softly. “He’s really sweet. And I think a bit sad. Why? Are you jealous?”
Mitsuhide pulled her into his lap and nipped at her neck. “Mmm, no. I know you are mine. But, do you trust him little mouse?”
She straightened, her expression suddenly serious. “Why? Is there a reason I shouldn’t? Do you know something?”
It was tempting to tell her. Afterall, he’d promised no lies between them. But he’d promised Kennyo that Ranmaru’s secret was safe with him. It seemed he would never be free of conflicting promises and unintentional betrayals. Mitsuhide sighed. “Has he told you anything? Mentioned his past or his friends? His family?”
“No. He doesn’t talk much about himself at all, actually.” She was thoughtful, still in his arms. “I don’t think he would hurt me but . . . I don’t think he likes you very much either.”
Mitsuhide nodded. “I have that impression.”
“So . . . maybe I should find out more about him.” She sighed. “I guess as your wife, I can’t really trust anyone. Well, except maybe Hideyoshi. I don’t think he’d ever do anything underhanded.”
“Not well,” Mitsuhide laughed.
“It’s hard to think about people that way. I want to believe everyone is good.”
Mitsuhide gently combed his fingers through her hair. “I want you to still see the world that way. But please, little one, be careful.”
“I will be.” She smiled and kissed him. Her mouth was sweet and hot and what started as a light kiss deepened quickly between them.
No matter how many times Mitsuhide tasted her, it felt like the first time. New and exciting, forbidden. His desire for her only grew with their time together.
“My lord?” Kyubei called from just outside the closed door.
Mitsuhide reluctantly broke the kiss between them. “Come in.” His little one tried to slide off his lap to sit beside him, but he held her in place. Damned if he was going to let go just because they were interrupted.
“I am sorry to interrupt, my lord. I came to let you know dinner will be late today.” He glanced toward the princess. “I should have left you those candies awhile longer! If you want to eat the rest, the box is in the kitchen.”
His little mouse shrugged. “That’s ok, Kyubei. I’m not that hungry yet. Thank you for dropping in to tell us.”
“Of course, my lady.” Kyubei bowed again. Then he left.
Mitsuhide felt a coil of tension release inside him. Ranmaru might be an enemy by loyalty, but he hadn’t hurt his little one. The conversation between them was a warning. He leaned his head against his little one, inhaling her scent. “I think perhaps we need to get away from the city for a time. Would you like that, little one?”
“Hmm, where would we go? There aren’t any Sengoku resorts or amusement parks.” She laughed. “Where do warlords go on vacation?”
“Vacation? Another word from your time? It means to get away?”
“From work, yes. Like, to take a break away from the place you live.” She relaxed against him.
Mitsuhide considered. “We could visit my lands. You’ve yet to see them. Or, is there some place you want to visit?”
She closed her eyes. “I wish . . . I wish I could show you my home. All my favorite places. There’s a coffee shop by my flat where they make a cat face in the froth and the barista always gives me a free cookie. And a movie theater with the best soda. And I could take you on a roller coaster!” She laughed. “I’d love to see your face on the first hill.”
“I would like that.”
“Yeah. But we can’t.” His little one took a shaky breath. “I can’t regret deciding to stay here with you. I love you more than anything. But I sometimes wish that you could meet my mom and dad. My friends. I wish they could know how happy I am. How lucky. I mean . . .”
Mitsuhide waited for her to continue, but she said nothing for several long breaths. “What is it? What do you mean?” He tilted her chin up so that he could see her face. She was fighting tears.
“It’s just, I don’t want to cry. There’s nothing to cry about.”
“Little one, if you need to cry, then do. You don’t have to pretend in front of me.” He pulled her closer. This sudden sadness surprised him. He’d thought she was as pleased as he.
“They probably think I’m dead. My parents. My friends. Or worse. I wish I could at least tell them I’m ok.” The words came in little gasps as she let her tears out.
Mitsuhide stroked her back. He wished he could do something to cheer her, but this was beyond his abilities. Or was it? The ninja from Echigo - the one from her time - he might know of a way to get a message across at least. It was a long shot, but the kitsune warlord would not let his beloved taste more sorrow than her share. Not if he could help it.
I'm sorry this took so long!, I had to write other fics and the request on my wattpad account 😖
It's a normal day in medical school,Chishiya is at his college's lab studying on things with the other people who are in the same class as him. This time their learning about how to: Cut open a person's chest/stomach for surgeries only 101-.
I'm serious "Now beneath this white sheet,there is a dummy that you need to cut open with this small knife here..but we're not in to that step yet,the first step is to..get use to the smell of someone's corpse...without your medical masks on" His professor said,as he take's out his hand to all of them,signaling to hand their masks over to him. Everyone reached into their pockets and took out their masks,handing them over to the professor.
"Everyone ready?" The professor asked,everyone shook their head confidently while Chishiya just smirks. The professor took off the white sheet that was covering the dummy now not covering it.The smell of a corpse was fresh coming from the dummy,everyone puked and some of them holding their breath and passing out as Chishiya closes his eyes calmly as he inhaled the scent of the corpse,smirking like the Cheshire he is "Everyone failed...except for you Chishiya,you passed..now cut it open" His professor said smirking back at him "Gladly professor~" He said,as he grabbed the knife and went to the dummy.
He stood right next to it "Where do you want me to cut it open professor?" He asked,looking at his professor "The most scent able part...the stomach" His professor replied. Chishiya nodding as he brought his left hand up to the dummy's chest as his right hand cuts open the stomach of it, the scent of the dummy's stomach now filling the air, everyone once again puked and passed out in the floor and holding their breath,Chishiya? No he inhaled the scent again "Good job Chishiya!, I'm very proud that ONE of my students will TRULY become a doctor" His professor said,mentioning to the other students who failed.
[TIMES SKIP]
It is now lunch time,Chishiya sitting in the cafeteria alone eating his vegetables...specifically peas. He got out his phone,seeing a bunch of text messages from Arisu and four from Kuina. He read through the text's that were from Arisu. Arisu was talking about a medical game that he just brought that included doctor's injecting some needles into zombies to cure them back into human, Chishiya just chuckled and went into Kuina's messages.
[QUEEN-Na]
QUEEN-Na: Hey! Hey Chishiya!,ya still in school?
QUEEN-Na: guess you are. So I was hoping maybe we could go like hang out together??,Oh! Maybe we could go to a cat Cafe.
QUEEN-Na: and after we go to the cat Cafe...wait for ittt.....WE'RE GOING ROLLER SKATING BESTIE!
Doctor Cheshire: after I finish my peas we'll go.
QUEEN-Na: HECK YEAH!,I knew it you could agree!
Doctor Cheshire: yes yes now I want to enjoy peas,thank you very much.
After the chat ended Chishiya continued to chew on his peas,while looking at the window that was beside his table where he ate..he then realized...he didn't know how to skate-.
He just shrugs the thought off of his mind as he continues to eat his peas.
[AFTER MED SCHOOL]
Chishiya waited for Kuina outside his college. Kuina told him that she's going to pick him up with her car, so he waited with his hand's inside the pockets of his white jacket that the zipper was loose and revealed his black and white striped shirt,he wore black jeans and a backpack that had cat ears on them...that was given by Kuina of course for his birthday. He heard a honk of a car. He looks up to see the girl inside the car on the right driver's seat, Chishiya smirks as he walked towards her car and got in the passenger seat that is right next to her "Welcome aboard Doctor Cheshire" Kuina said smiling at him starting the car "Thank you for welcoming me..Miss Sexy butterfly girl" Chishiya said as he turned on the radio to hear some music.
Kuina began to drive "So what did you learn this time?" "Why do you want to know?,are you my mom now?" He asked,looking at her by the corner of his eyes "As if!, she's a cruel Bish! You don't deserve to be forced to do anything ya know?"
Kuina said,keeping her eyes on the road "Yeah..we're going to the cat cafe first right?" He asked her. Kuina just smiles and nods "Yup! After that we're roller skating" She said with a wide grin on her face now. Chishiya just lay's his head back into his chair as he closed his eyes.
They both finally made it to the Cat Cafe. Kuina shaking Chishiya's body lightly "We're here doc" She said sarcastically "I can see that clearly sexy butterfly" He said, looking at the Cat Cafe through the passenger's seat window "Well,time to get out!" She said,getting out of her car. Chishiya following her as they both got into the Cat Cafe to be greeted by so many cats "Look at all these little cuties!" Kuina squealed, as she grabbed a yellow munchkin cat "Look how teensy his leggies are!!" She said, holding the cat up to Chishiya's face "Are you mocking me?" Chishiya asked "Mocking?, how am I mocking you! Look at him!!! He's so cute!!!" She chirps again.
They both finally found a place to sit and ordered their food and drinks "So Chishi, do you know how to skate?" Kuina asked him while petting the yellow munchkin cat that's on her lap "Well..for someone like me that is likely to have a GOOD childhood...no" He said stroking a cat that was laying right next to him,showing it's belly demanding belly rubs which Chishiya did do.
The cat meows and purred at his touch "True,true..Oh! Maybe I could teach you how to!?" Kuina said excitedly "Sure..i would love to" Chishiya said, as the waiter put their two puddings on the table and one iced coffee for kuina. Chishiya got himself a black coffee which he is now sipping calmly while still stroking the cat beside him.
They chatted for awhile. Saying about how their doing and how work is going for Kuina and how college was going for Chishiya "Everyone didn't like the smell of the dummy..me? I liked it. I felt really at ease when I inhaled the scent of the fake corpse-" "Now you're making me want barf.. But at least it sound cool" Kuina said cutting Chishiya's sentence while sipping at her iced coffee "How is work at the shop going for you?" "Well,customer's come by and go. Buy some clothes ask if there any available size's for it, they buy it and leave" Kuina explains, swaying her spoon while explaining "Like always then?"Chishiya asked and she nods.
After the chat, they played rock papers scissors to see who would pay for their meal. Apparently, Kuina won and Chishiya lost, but Chishiya didn't care because he is wealth of money thanks to his dad. They both got out of the Cafe and went inside Kuina's car again "Next stop!, the mall!" Kuina said starting the car "So the roller skating rink is at the mall?" Chishiya asked "Yup!, I can't find any that was close in this city and your college,only the mall" She said while driving"That sucks...i hate the mall" Chishiya replies "Why?, because you don't like people surrounding you while you're walking?" Kuina asked "More like I don't like places that are crowded by..peasants.." Chishiya continues as he had a Cheshire like smirk on his face "That's the same thing but in Chishiya language" Kuina said while chuckling.
They both made it at the mall. Kuina parks her car and gets out,Chishiya following. They got into the big building "I haven't seen the mall since...last month" Chishiya said, while looking at the ceiling of the mall "What!?,you haven't gone to the mall that much before...never mind I just remembered on what you said in the car" She said. Both of them spend their time keeping each other company, both of them walking side by side. They didn't go straight to the roller skating rink no, they stopped at a hat shop that was in the mall, checking out some of the cool hats in the shop "These are some hats" Kuina said, grabbing a top hat and putting it on Chishiya's head "You look good with a top hat Chishiya" Kuina comments "Thank you..and yes I do love top hats. I really want one ever since when I was kid..my father won't let me have on cause-" "Let's not talk about that old man of yours right now, we're here in a hat shop. You live alone in an elegant apartment by yourself, you could buy the top hat if you want to!" "And the young woman is correct!" Someone said after Kuina finished her sentence "Allow me to introduce Myself, I'm Danma Takeru..also known as Hatter and the owner of this fine shop you may say" Hatter said, grinning widely "Nice hat you got there Mister Hatter" Kuina said, pointing at his hat "Why thank you!, my father gave it to me" He replies with a smile.
The shops bell rings, revealing a tall buff man with no hair. He looks like a tired dad "Ah! Mori Chan!, welcome" Hatter greets the man "This my friend, is Aguni Morizono. He's my best friend!" Hatter explains with a grin. Chishiya and Kuina nodding "So what brings the both of you here at the mall?" Aguni asked "We're here to roller skate!,and I'm teaching this kid how to do it properly" Kuina said, mentioning to Chishiya "Well that sounds fun!, maybe we could join in? It's okay if you don't want us to be there" "Sure..as long as you don't get too close to me" Chishiya finally spoke "Great!, what do you think Aguni? Would you like to?" Aguni nods "Sure" He said.
After that the four of them said their good bye's, Hatter and Aguni said that they will catch up when their both done taking care of the shop "Those two were nice" Kuina smiles as she looks down at Chishiya that was still wearing the top hat on his head, Hatter gave it to him for free. Hatter heard Chishiya's story of life and felt horrible so he decided to just give the natural blonde headed cat a gift, which was the Top hat that he likes so much.
"Ah!, and here we are!" Kuina said. Chishiya looking up to see a sign that had roller skates on it "Let's go in" Kuina said, as she opens the door "After you" Kuina mentioning to the open door for Chishiya to enter. Chishiya did enter and Kuina did the same.
The room inside was filled with neon lights and...peasants Chishiya say's. Everyone was on the rink, laughing and having fun "Doesn't this look great?" Kuina looking down at Chishiya that had a disgusted look on his face "Look at all of these peasants" Chishiya say's pointing at one of them "C'mon now, don't get your Cat attitude out!, let's go" Kuina grabbed Chishiya's hand and dragged him to the main counter.
They both got in the locker room to pick out their roller skates that were their foot size "Chishiya!,look at this one!" Kuina said excitedly. Chishiya looks at her and saw that she's holding two pair of roller skates that is black and had cat faces all over it "Huh..interesting" Chishiya said, while grabbing the roller skates that Kuina held "I knew it you would like them" Kuina grins as she grabbed a pair of blue roller skates that had white and yellow and pink flowers on them. They both put on their roller skates as they walked to the rink.
Kuina holding Chishiya's hand, guiding him to the rink. They both stepped in, Chishiya wobbling a bit "Keep your balance, it's okay. I told you I'll teach you right?" Kuina grabbed Chishiya's hand as she started to move. She let's go Chishiya's hand,leaving Chishiya at his will "okay, the first thing you have to do is walking. Just like normal" Chishiya took Kuina's advice and started taking little steps "Like this?" "Yes!, keep going...aaaand stop. Okay the next step is to balance yourself, don't panic and stay completely calm" Chishiya stayed still, balancing himself "Good! Just like that, now push your upper body to the front while lifting up your right feet and dragging it" Chishiya then did exactly that...and he did it "I- I can't believe I'm roller skating" He said, skating across the rink until he fell on his butt. Kuina trying so badly to hold her laughter as she went towards him to help him get up to his feet.
Chishiya grabbing his top hat and cleaned the dust out of it as he put's it on top of his head again "I hate this." Chishiya mumbles as he stood up again "Oh come on!, you just fell like..once" Kuina crossing her arms, looking down at the short blonde figure that was wearing a top head "Fine..i'll try again" He grumbles, Kuina smiling widely while cheering "Heck yeah!" She said as they both continued skating.
The end-
[Meanwhile Hatter and Aguni]
The two men are now skating happily together with happy faces "Isn't this fun Mori?" Hatter said, smiling at his friend that is skating behind him "Quiet so" "Oh come on!, I don't see a smile on your face" Hatter said pointing at Aguni's emotionless face "No..i am happy..this is my happy face" He said "Well whatever you say" After that Hatter didn't looked where he was going and bumped into a ln angry Chishiya.
The end~
La Cuervo - Chapter 14
She is used to the biker-life, having grown into a woman in the familiar embrace of SAMCRO. A bad decision and a gun-shot later, she gets whisked off to Santo Padre, and put under the protection of another club. What is supposed to be a short stint in the Mayan headquarters just north of the border to Mexico, turns into something more; when la quervo begins to develop feelings for el angel - and he seems to return them in kind...
TW: violence, blood, drug use, alcohol, smut, fluff, angst
In the spirit of "The Crown Princess of Charming", this is a story about O.C. Nina and Angel Reyes. It is obviously non-canon, as characters who have passed on on Mayans M.C. are present in it, and others have been excluded completely. Nina is written as a cis-female, but I have tried to keep her race and looks as ambigous as possible. Should you find any of this story offensive, please let me know.
It wasn’t until Nina was alone, that realization struck her. She’d just agreed to leave Angel. Her Angel. The man who had brought her back to life. The thought struck her like a freight train, and she froze in place, almost literally. Her whole body went cold, and she felt like she couldn’t move for the longest time. The light in the room told her she must have sat like that for at least an hour. Finally able to move her head to look down, she looked at the crescent shaped cuts in her palms from her nails. Something wet began dripping onto them, and she found tears had begun running down her cheeks, without her even noticing it. Forcing her arm to reach for the pillow next to her, she took a deep breath, and held it to her face; before a wail like no other left her mouth. She screamed out her agony, not having felt anything like it since she’d been told that Jackson had gone through with his plan to kill himself. It was as if an actual death had occurred again; but this time it felt like her own.
After a while she put down the pillow again, and got to her feet. She opened the cabinets, and began pulling out he few belongings she’d brought to Santo Padre, and stuffed them in her backpack. Then she made the bed, and went into the small bathroom for her toothbrush. It looked so alone there, as if it missed standing next to Angel’s. She tore herself from the thought, and went to put that into her bag as well. Only the gun and her inhaler were left, and she went to pick them up, when she noticed the phone Bishop had given her laying on the counter by the sink. She picked it up, and sat down on the cot again.
She wasn’t sure who to call. No one could change her situation as it was; but she needed something – anything – to help her through. Just a voice to remind her that it wasn’t all for nothing. Looking at Jackson’s journal and the photo of his boys – which she’d saved for last – the answer came to her. She dialed up the number, praying to god that it was still the same as last time she’d used it. The call was picked up at the second ring.
“Hello?”. “Wendy? It’s Nina”, she said. “Hey, Nina. How is everything?”, Wendy replied. Nina heard a ruckus in the background. “Thomas, no more cookies…! Sorry. Someone decided sugar was a good replacement for lunch... Chibs told me you were going to Mexico”. Nina swallowed thickly. “Yeah… No, not really. I’m somewhere else”. “Well, I hope you’re enjoying yourself. What I’d give for a vacation…”, Wendy said. Nina knew she was just kidding. Wendy had never been happier than since she moved to the farm with the boys and Nero. “Yeah, well; vacation is over”, Nina muttered. “I was wondering if I could talk to the kids for a minute”. “Of course! They miss you”, Wendy said. There was another sound of something crashing in the background. “Sorry, I need to give Tommy a bath. No! We don’t wipe peanut butter on our faces…!”. Another crash. “Goddammit. Abel! Come to talk to aunt Nina while I help your brother… Take care, Nina”. Nina couldn’t help but smile a little, as she heard Wendy chase Tommy around the room. There was a short scrambling noise, before someone spoke again. “Hi, aunt Nina!”, a bright, young voice said on the other end. “Abel… Hi, buddy”, Nina said, instantly falling back into tears; but trying to stifle her sniveling. “How are you doing?”. “I’m ok… But Tommy broke my supersoaker…”. “Aw, that sucks. I’m sure he’s sorry”, Nina said. “Yeah, mommy Wendy made him apologize… You sound sad…”, Abel said. Nina wiped her eyes, as if the boy was right there in front of her. “No, I’m not sad. I just smelled your feet through the phone, and it made me cry”, she replied. “No, you didn’t!”, Abel laughed. “When are you gonna come visit? There’s a mule here, and we named him after you, even though he’s a boy; because daddy always said you were stubborn as a mule. And we have a trampoline, which is really cool, ‘cuz you can jump high. When I stretch up my arms when I jump, I’m almost as tall as Nero! And…”. “That’s great Abel. I’d love to see that…”. Nina sighed and closed her eyes, trying to picture the boy in front of her. He’d probably grown quite a bit, even after the picture Wendy had sent her was taken. “Are you being good for mommy Wendy?”. “Yeah, I eat my broccoli and everything. And I help Nero clean the horse-stalls”, Abel said. “That’s good. And you’re doing good in school?”, she asked, having to wipe her nose a bit. “Yeah… Do you have a cold? Your voice is funny”, Abel replied. “No, it’s still your feet, stinky!”, Nina chuckled. She heard bikes arriving on the lot, and felt another crying fit threatening to attack. “Look, buddy; I gotta run. I just wanted to make sure you were ok”. “I’m ok. Come visit us soon!”. “I promise, Abel. I love you!”. “Love you too. Bye!”. Abel hung up the call before Nina could say anything more. She quickly slipped the photo into the journal, and put it in her bag, before getting to her feet to face Angel.
---
The Mayans all looked to be in a good mood, when Nina opened the trailer door to step outside. EZ, Gilly and Coco went to gather the loaded sleep rolls, while Angel turned to look at her; a bright smile on his face.
Daniella came out of the clubhouse, and stood on the porch. She smiled shortly at Nina, before Angel noticed the blonde, and began approaching her. “Dani, we gotta talk”, he said. “Angel!”, Nina called out. He turned around, and looked at her confusedly. “Give me a minute”, he replied. “No. Now”, Nina declared, and stepped back inside the trailer. The Mayans all looked confused at this point, but didn’t intervene. Angel frowned, and gave Daniella a short look. She shrugged, before looking at Nina; palming her phone. Don’t try anything, she seemed to be saying. “Don’t go anywhere”, Angel said to her, and walked towards the trailer. “I’ll be right here, baby”, Daniella said.
Once inside the trailer, Angel closed the door. “Nina, what the fuck? I was just about to…”. “Daniella’s not the snitch. I talked to her”, Nina cut him off. “You what?”, Angel growled. “Girl talk”, Nina said. “She’s just here for you. Not to sell out your club”. She made herself keep an indifferent face while she spoke. “You should give her a chance”. “I’m not… What are you talking about?”.
Nina sighed deeply, and took a step back. “You and me… That was never gonna work out”. He tried to reach for her hand, but she turned around to throw her inhaler and gun into the bag. “Nina… What are you doing?”, Angel asked. “I’m leaving… Going home”, she replied. “Or somewhere else. I haven’t decided yet”. “You’re not going anywhere!”, Angel exclaimed, and yanked her bag out of her hands. “What the fuck is going on?”. Nina clenched her fists to hide the fact that her hands were shaking. Angel wouldn’t let her go unless she did something drastic. She swallowed thickly, and met his eyes with an indifferent gaze. “You people can’t protect me. I’m safer with SOA; what happened to Camille is proof of that”, she said. The furrow between Angel’s brows was deeper than ever. “I wasn’t gonna tell you this, but I talked to SAMDINO. I’m gonna take up Packer’s offer”. Angel looked like he’d been punched in the gut with a sledgehammer. “Packer… You wanna go be with Packer…”, he croaked. “Yeah… He’s… We’ve got history”, Nina lied. Angel’s expression was growing pained, but in spite of wanting to take him in her arms, and comfort him, Nina had to continue her ruse. “You said I was too good for this life. I’m not. I just want more than what you can give me. Queen of SAMDINO is the right step for me”.
She tried taking her bag back from Angel, but he threw it behind him; and grabbed a hold of her shoulders. “This is bullshit. What happened?”, he said. “I changed my mind. I don’t want to stay here”, Nina replied. “I’m sorry about that year I owe the club, but I’ll try to get some money, and have Chibs pay you whatever Bishop thinks I owe”. “This isn’t about money. You said you love me!”, Angel said, his voice breaking. Nina couldn’t say she didn’t; the words simply would not form in her mouth. She closed her eyes to avoid meeting Angel’s gaze, and let out a deep breath. “This isn’t about whatever I said or… felt”, she finally said. “We should have ended this the night we first slept together. It shouldn’t have gone further”. “Cuervo…”, Angel tried. “We’re done”, Nina declared, and forced his hands off her shoulders, before pushing past him, and grabbing her bag. “I’m sorry”. She almost ran out of the trailer, knowing Angel would physically try to stop her if she didn’t. “Nina!”, he called after her. She looked towards the porch; and through a haze of unshed tears, she saw Daniella smiling as she went.
Before anyone had a chance to stop her, Nina slipped into the front office, and dug out the small cashbox Chucky kept there. She felt bad for taking money from it, but she needed cash for wherever she was going. A few notes in hand, she ran off the lot, and down the road. Avoiding getting found in Santo Padre was difficult, as Nina had spent very little time away from the scrap yard. She knew she had to work fast to get as far away as possible, as soon as possible. There was no doubt in her mind that Angel would try to come after her – he was probably already on his way – and if he didn’t, Bishop might, to get her to fulfill her one-year promise.
Once out on the main road, she flagged down a car, and convinced the driver that she needed to get to a bus station; because her brother was sick, and she had to go see him. She was only half lying, she realized, as there was really only one place in the world she wanted to go in that moment. She had to go see her brother.
---
It took a little over a day to make the trip back to north California. The cash Nina had taken from the scrapyard could only get her so far by bus, and she had to hitch rides the rest of the way. Each time she heard the sound of a motorbike, or saw anyone wearing leather, she had the instinct to duck her head. She wasn’t sure what she was afraid of. Clearly, her cover wasn’t blown yet. Daniella wanted her alive, and if there was another snitch, they didn’t seem to be focused on her. It might have been the shame of how she’d run; how she’d been too weak to fight Daniella for what she wanted. Then again, that shame would have been greater and even more devastating, if fighting back had meant it would hurt her nephews. Ultimately, she was just distraught; and only wanted to speak with one person – even if he couldn’t reply.
It was just past midnight, when Nina finally made it to Redwood Memorial Cemetery, just outside of Charming. She’d gotten used to the heat in Santo Padre, and it was a cold night. With nothing more than a light jacket to cover herself, she was shivering as she walked down the rows of gravestones. She halted for a moment by a white stone, engraved with the name John Thomas Teller. Taking a moment to brush some stray leaves from the top of it, Nina sent a thought to the man who’d sired one of the most important people in her life; before moving on. Someone had left a bouquet of lilies on Tara’s grave. Her coworkers at St. Thomas, Nina figured. She chided herself for not having visited the grave more often, but coming to the cemetery had been painful the last couple of years. A fresh grave nearby sported multiple flower arrangements, and as no one was around, Nina nabbed a few roses from it, and left them next to the lilies. “Abel and Thomas are loved and safe. Sleep tight”, she whispered to the stone.
The last ten yards she had to walk towards her end goal felt like miles. A cold gush of wind made Nina shudder, and she threw her arms around herself; trying to rub some heat into them.
Jackson’s stone looked lonely, in spite of all the other’s surrounding it. It was like he had been in the last year of his life; surrounded by people, but alone in his pain. At the same time, it was incredibly peaceful; like it should be. He’d found rest from his torment and sorrow. Nina imagined him riding his bike down an ethereal highway; his father next to him, and Tara riding pivot. “Fucking soppy”, Nina chuckled to herself.
She sat down on the ground next to the stone, and ran her fingertips over the lettering. Jackson Nathaniel Teller. “I miss you…”, she began. She chewed her lips, and wiped away a stray tear. After a moment searching for the right words, she finally sighed. “I am so angry with you, Jackson. You left me… And I love you as well. I love you for everything you taught me about being a good person; which just makes me even more angry, because I’ll never be able to live up to the example you set… I fucked up. I took so many wrong turns after you died; even though I promised… I know you expected more from me, and I’m so sorry; but I’m not strong enough to…”. The stray tears had become two steady streams falling from her eyes. “You said, be happy… And I was really happy for the first time in what felt like forever. But I can’t be happy, and also live up to your example of protecting your family… My family”. She pressed the heels of her hands into her eyes, as if trying to force herself to stop crying. “Your boys are safe, and I’m gonna keep them that way. That means breaking my promise of being happy to you, but I also know it’s what you would do… So, I guess in some way, I’m still doing what you taught me…”. She took a deep breath, and finally the tears stilled.
Nina moved behind the stone, and leaned her back against it; as she had sat back-to-back with Jackson on the roof of the old clubhouse in Charming, before the explosion. She remembered how her whole body would rumble along with Jax’s; as he laughed at whatever ridiculous thing she would tell him about her day – or the time she’d told him she was planning to drop out of high school, and sign up with CaraCara once she turned 18. Yeah, that’s not happening, darlin’. I’ll tie your ass to the seat, until you’re wearing that cap and gown. I don’t wanna see my little sister’s naked ass on camera. It was that conversation, and his response, that made her keep the fact that she’d quit community college hidden for a full week; before Chucky sold her out. A pang of pain struck her heart as she remembered that she hadn’t even said goodbye to the good-humored little man.
After a long moment, Nina began speaking again “I know I can’t live in memories, but it’s the closest thing to happiness that I have now… And I want to tell you about him”. She took a deep breath, almost as nervous as if Jackson would have been able to respond. “His name is Angel… and you would hate him”, she chuckled. “He’s a biker… surprise! Bet you didn’t see that coming… He’s smug, and a smartass; and a horny little shit… He’s also a Mayan… I know! But he’s also… so kind and full of life… and sofucking hot… which is something I guess you didn’t need to know”. She chewed her lower lip, and closed her eyes, seeing Angel in front of her. “He’s got this dimple between his eyebrows when he gets frustrated or confused – which is quite often, if I’m gonna be honest… And he’s so much smarter and warm and lovable than he gives himself credit for. I’ve never felt more loved and cared for, than when I was with him… I mean, I felt that from you, and from Filip and the rest; but… This was different, because I wasn’t just a sister or a friend. I love him. Like love him…”. She frowned. “But it’s over. I had to end it”.
The cold was getting to her, so the shivers from her pain mixed with ones of freezing. She hadn’t eaten or drank anything for more than a day, and she was exhausted. She looked around her, not ready to leave; and not really knowing where to go anyway. Opening her backpack, Nina got out the journal, and opened a random page; running her fingers over the handwritten words. “Know that the decisions that you make effect everyone and everything, along with yourself. It has taken me a long time to realize that, and I wish I would have sooner. And as much as I want to help you, tell you what to do; I can't. Those choices will be yours, and yours alone. The only advice I can give you, is to examine who you are as a person and what you choose as your path in your life. Find your own truth. It will lead you to the things you love”. “I wish you could help me too”, she whispered. “I don’t know what my path is, and I can’t promise to get over this. I can’t promise that I will be happy; and we both know me well enough to know, that I’m not gonna handle this well… So, I’m just not gonna make any of those promises; it wouldn’t be honest of me if I did…”. She clutched the journal against her chest, and fished the .38 out of the bag; holding it in her hand. Nina sat for a long time, just looking at it. “I’m gonna sleep now. And then I’m gonna drink, and smoke, and try to get laid… and do everything else unhealthy, until I can finally become numb enough to… not chose your path”.
She had nothing else to say; simply couldn’t find the words. Instead, she curled up on the cold ground, closed her eyes; and let sleep take her over.
---
“Nina?”. She heard footsteps heading her way. Filip looked down at her disheveled state, and then at the gravestone and the gun in her hand; and his face dropped. “She’s here”, he said. Tig and Happy came up behind him. “Shit, muffin. What happened?”, Tig asked. Happy frowned. “Chibs, why is she here?”. “Not now, Hap’”, Filip said. “Let’s just get her out of here. Get the gun”. One of them scooped her into their arms; she was too exhausted to notice who…
---
The radio was turned all the way up, and she was swaying her hips to the music.
“Nina, get off the counter!”, Filip called out from across the room. He looked almost angry. Nina took a sip of her beer, and stretched her arms into the air. “Why? I thought the party was about to start…”, she laughed. Filip walked over to her, and wrapped his arms around her legs, making her fall over his shoulder. “Yes. A children’s birthday party. This is an ice cream shop, you lush”, he growled, and carried her out the back door; setting her down at the foot of the stairs going up to the actual SAMCRO clubhouse. She noticed Rat smiling apologetically at the arriving guests; which consisted of a group of 7-yearolds, and the flabbergasted mother of the birthday-boy. “Tell them I’m sorry”, Nina whispered very loudly to Filip, before looking towards the mother. “I’m sorry!”, she yelled.
Filip dragged her up the stairs, and more or less threw her on one of the leather couches. “Jesus Christ, Nina…”, he sighed exasperatedly. “We do actually need the front of this operation functioning”. “Pfft”, Nina sputtered. “Everyone in town knows what this place is. You’re leather clad bikers who sell guns, for fucks sake! I need a drink”. She went to get off the couch, but Filip pushed her back down, and took the beer bottle from her hand. “You’ve had enough”, he said. “Get some sleep”. “No sleep ‘til Charming!”, Nina sang. “You’re in Charming", Tig said, having come over from the bar area. He snatched her pack of smokes from her, before she could get them from the coffee table, and held out a glass of water. Nina scrunched up her nose. “Fish pee in that”, she said. Tig sat down, and lifted the glass to her lips. “Don’t make me hold your nose”, he said. The water looked a little murky, but Nina accepted the glass, and drank it all, before throwing it into the air. Filip caught it mid-air, and rolled his eyes. “Buzz-kill”, Nina sneered.
She leaned back in her seat, before suddenly, her stomach began rumbling violently. Tig sprang for a trashcan, and held it in front of her; just in time for Nina to hurl a week's worth of alcohol and Happy’s scrambled eggs into it. “What was in that?”, Filip grunted. “Bit of charcoal”, Tig said. “Better than taking her to get her stomach pumped at St. Thomas’”. “I hate you…”, Nina heaved between two streams of vomit leaving her mouth. “I know, muffin. I love you too”, Tig smiled, and stroked her back.
After what seemed like hours, Nina finally had nothing left inside her to throw up, and she curled up on the couch. “Now I’m sober… thanks”, she said sarcastically. “Give me my cigarettes”. Filip went to get her bag, and dug out her toothbrush; handing it to her. “This is all you’re putting in your mouth for now”, he said. “Add toothpaste. You smell like death”. Nina disgruntledly took the toothbrush from him, and got on her feet to go to the bathroom; grabbing the toothpaste from her bag on the way.
Once she’d finished brushing her teeth, and splashed some cold water in her face, she went back into the bar area. “You’ve kept me here for days. I wanna go back to my apartment”, she said. “You can’t. Lyla’s using it as a set today”, Tig said. Nina groaned. “They’re gonna get porn-cum on my sheets”, she said. “Wouldn’t be the first time. What was that fella’s name again…? Kirk?”, Filip laughed, and went behind the bar to pour himself a scotch, and fill a mug of coffee. Happy and T.O. came up the stairs as they spoke. “I just remember him as; Please-god-no-I-swear-I’ll-never-talk-to-her-again-guy”, Tig said indifferently. “I think Opie took care of that one”. “Nah, that was Jax himself”, Happy said. “He’s teaching history in Milwaukee now”. “The history of his once functioning penis, I gather”, Filip muttered and looked at Nina, who’d sat down by a table. “Did he know you were 17?”. “I was 19!”, Nina sneered. “And his name was… Fuck, I can’t remember… Look, call Lyla, and then take me home!”.
Filip sat down across from her, and slid the coffee over the table. Nina took a welcome sip of it. “I don’t trust you on your own”, he said softly. “Is that why you won’t give me back my gun?”, she muttered. “You remind me too much of your brother at the moment”, he replied. Rage and sadness streamed through her body, and Nina got up; kicking her chair hard, making it fall to the floor. “Then give me a goddamn bike, and I’ll hit the road. There are trucks enough out there!”. She speed across the room, trying to reach the stairs; but T.O. got in her way, and grabbed her shoulders. He pushed her backwards into Happy’s arms. He picked her up like she weighed nothing more than a small child, and deposited her on the couch. He looked down at her with enraged eyes, tears forming in the corners of them. “Don’t ever say that again! Ever!”, he growled. Nina was shook, and suddenly her body began quaking. She sobbed quietly, and covered her eyes with her hands. Happy sat down next to her, and pulled her into his arms. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry”, she whimpered. “I know, princess”. He rocked her back and forth, and kissed the top of her head.
Nina looked up, and was struck by each of the Sons’ expressions; ranging from sad, to angry, to pained. “I can’t stop fucking up… All I do is hurt people…”, she sobbed. Filip reached his hands out, and Happy released her to take them, and be pulled into the president’s embrace. “You are pure light, my love”, he said, before cupping her tear-streaked face in his hands. “Stop trying to snuff it out… I’m not talking about threatening to off yourself; we both know that will never happen, because we won’t allow it”. He pressed his forehead to hers. “You have to stop thinking of yourself like a failure not worthy of happiness. Stop killing that flame inside you”. “But I can’t be happy…”, Nina croaked. “If I try to be…”. She halted herself. She hadn’t told anyone of her deal with Danielle. “Tell me…”, Filip said. “I can’t”, Nina replied resolutely. “It’s… life or death”.
She pulled herself out of his grasp, and went for her cigarettes; which Tig had put on the top shelf behind the bar. He didn’t try to stop her. “Everything we do is life or death”, T.O. said. It was the first words he’d spoken since he’d arrived, but they were poignant. Nina lit her cigarette, and hesitantly met his eyes. “This is different”, she said. “If it was just… No”. She took a draw of her cigarette, picked up the chair from the floor, and sat down by the table again. “This is how it is now. I’m home, and I’ll try to… be better”.
They were interrupted by Quinn coming up the stairs. He looked around at the emotional faces in the room, and frowned. “Did you guys watch the Notebook again?”, he asked with a smirk. “Whatever; wrap it up. We got the in-laws incoming”. Nina frowned in confusion. “What’s going on?”, she asked. Filip gave her a half smile. “You wanted to go home; didn’t you…?”.
A roar of motorcycles sounded from outside, and Nina looked out of the window. A group of bikes came down the street, led by a brusque looking man on a roadking – handlebars high as the sky.
I was having a rough day, so I did a thing and finished my first fanfiction story. Super short, but if you are interested, it’s on AO3 and below the cut.
Safer than Shaking Hands- Hotch/Reid (brief)
1.8k words
Safer than Shaking Hands
“The number of pathogens passed during a handshake is staggering. It's actually safer to kiss.”- Dr. Spencer Reid
The tradition began after the team returned from a case in Oklahoma, during which Spencer had informed more than one cop about his no-hand-shaking policy. The general reaction was surprise, quickly followed by the cop shuffling away in case Spencer suggested an alternative greeting. The team had quietly held back laughter after this happened for the third time, but Spencer didn’t seem to notice the discomfort he was causing.
They were gathered in the bullpen before going to their respective homes for a well-deserved weekend off. Emily grabbed her purse and was walking with JJ towards the elevators when she stopped next to Spencer. He was hunched over his desk rifling through his messenger bag when she pressed a kiss to his cheek. When he looked up in surprise, she smirked.
“It’s safer than a handshake. Have a good weekend.”
She walked off, leaving Spencer to look at JJ in surprise. JJ laughed at the expression on Spencer’s face before placing a kiss on the top of his head.
“Bye, Spence. Give me a call if you want to come to the zoo with us on Sunday, ok?” she called over her shoulder as she raced to catch up with Emily.
-
Spencer was sitting at his desk on Monday when the rest of the team wandered in. As JJ passed him on the way to her office, she pressed a kiss to his hair and shared a grin with Emily. Spencer ducked his head and swatted her away, blushing. Derek raised an eyebrow.
“Something I should know about?”
Spencer rolled his eyes. “I think JJ and Emily are trying to make a point about my handshake aversion. They are taking my tip about kissing being safer a little too literally.”
Derek laughed. “My man! I might have to try that line myself.” He winked at Spencer, who shook his head and returned to the files in front of him.
The morning passed quickly as Spencer worked through the backlog of cold cases. He was startled to hear loud laughter coming into the bullpen and looked up to see Emily, JJ and Penelope returning from lunch. He looked down at his desk and frowned, trying to remember if he had anything in the fridge to grab for a quick snack since he hadn’t brought his lunch.
He was startled to see a brown bag dropped onto his desk. He looked up and saw Penelope smiling at him. “You need to eat to keep that brain of yours working, junior G-man. Don’t worry- no pickles or tomatoes.”
Spencer opened his mouth to thank her when she quickly kissed her two fingers and pressed them to his lips. “No need to thank me. But I reserve the right to collect a real kiss at a later date.” She winked and walked off to her office leaving Spencer speechless. He sighed, glad that all of the girls had now had their fun and made their point, before digging into the sandwich the girls had brought him.
-
Fortunately, he had made time to eat, as they were summoned to the conference room just two hours later. A bomber was targeting random grocery stores in Celina, Texas and his pace was accelerating. Hotch had to stay behind to care for a sick Jack, so Morgan took the lead and the team was off to Texas before dinnertime.
The local sheriff’s department was grateful for the BAU’s arrival as another bomb had just detonated, claiming the bomber’s first victim. The team gathered in a conference room set aside for them and began dividing up the work. Morgan would take JJ to interview the witnesses and Rossi and Emily were going to the latest crime scene to see if there was any new evidence that could help build their profile. Spencer would stay behind to continue working on the geographic profile.
Spencer was already hunched over the table scribbling furiously on the map when the group filed out. Morgan stopped and placed his hand on Spencer’s shoulder. “Hey, you ok staying here alone? These guys seem friendly, but if you aren’t comfortable…”
Spencer cut him off. “Derek, I can take care of myself. Go. I’ll be fine.” He returned his attention to the map in front of him.
Morgan huffed out a laugh before leaning over and placing a kiss to the top of his head and ruffling his hair. “Alright, alright. I’m out. Give me a call if you get anything, ok?”
Spencer glared at Morgan’s retreating form as he attempted to fix his hair. He was grateful that none of the local LEOs were around to witness that particular interaction and misconstrue their relationship- he had no desire to explain his team’s odd behavior. He was quickly coming to accept the idea that handshakes may not be such a bad idea if this was his team’s alternative.
-
The others had not made much progress when Spencer called to inform them that the geographic profile seemed to pinpoint the local high school as a potential area of interest. Unfortunately, the whole town seemed to know that the FBI was investigating the bombings and a growing sense of hysteria was causing potential witnesses to give conflicting accounts of the man they had seen loitering outside the bombing locations just prior to the explosions. Since it was generally agreed that it was a young man, no older than his late 20’s, Morgan and JJ were going to the high school to interview teachers about potential suspects while Rossi and Emily met with a bomb expert the Texas Rangers had sent to assist the investigation. Morgan was about to tell Reid to meet him at the high school when he heard a loud explosion. He swirled around, grabbing JJ and preparing to take cover when he realized that the explosion had come from the other end of the phone. He saw the terror in JJ’s eyes as she realized what they had just heard, but quickly pulled himself together to call Rossi and Emily. Soon, the team was en route to the police station, terrified at what they might find.
When they arrived at the police station, they found a young man holding a cell phone, shouting at everyone to back up or he would set off another bomb. The building was almost completely collapsed at this point and injured officers could be seen crawling out from beneath the rubble. Morgan and Emily helped to establish a perimeter around the scene as Rossi approached the young man, attempting to negotiate. JJ had immediately taken off towards a group of officers that had made it out of the building to find out what they knew about Spencer.
Rossi was beginning to worry that their unsub was considering suicide by cop when he suddenly dropped the cell phone detonator and fell to his knees. Rossi kicked the phone away and watched as a local officer placed handcuffs on the teenager. As he was lowering his gun, he heard a shout.
“Spence! Spencer!”
-
Spencer staggered towards his team, sore and covered in dust but relatively unharmed. He collapsed into their waiting arms, allowing JJ and Morgan to direct him towards an ambulance for evaluation. He had just taken a seat to wait for an available medic when Rossi ran up to him.
“Kid, you scared the crap out of us! I don’t know what I would do without this bella facia!”
Suddenly, Spencer was pulled to his feet as Rossi grabbed his face and placed a kiss on each cheek. The others tried to contain their laughter, but finally began giggling in earnest as Spencer sputtered a bashful apology. He narrowed his eyes when he caught sight of Emily.
“For the record, I am blaming this on you. I’ve been kissed more in the last week than my entire life!”
That caused another round of laughter from the team before the adrenaline began to wear off and they realized how close they had come to losing their young genius. After the medics declared that Spencer didn’t need to go to the hospital for an evaluation, the team soberly made their way back to the hotel to prepare to head home. Normally they would stay and help the locals wrap up the case, but with so many witnesses to the final showdown and the fact that they had never actually completed a profile, they felt the locals could handle the details- they were desperate to get home.
-
Hotch and Penelope were standing by the doors of the bullpen as the team arrived at the unit. Penelope rushed forward to gather everyone in a group hug before pushing everyone aside so she could see for herself that Spencer was unharmed. Spencer was trying to escape her mothering when he met Hotch’s eyes. His boss gave him a soft smile and began to walk towards the group.
“Garcia, let him breathe.”
Chastised, she stepped back. “Yes, sir. I’m just so happy to see all of my babies home safely.”
Hotch smiled softly. “So am I. I apologize for not being with you guys. Jessica is home with Jack now, but I wanted to see everyone.”
Derek stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. “You were right where you needed to be. Now go back home, you belong with Jack right now.”
Hotch took a deep breath. “Actually, I’m right where I belong.” He took several steps forward before gathering Spencer in his arms and kissing him gently. Everyone froze as Spencer relaxed into his embrace and kissed him back.
When they parted, Spencer rested his forehead against Hotch and sighed. “This is not how we discussed telling the team about our relationship, Aaron.”
Hotch looked around to gauge the reactions of the team and was pleased to see that while they were surprised, no one appeared to be angry. “Spencer and I have been together for a little over a year. We are very happy but if you have any concerns, you may bring them to me privately at a later time. Right now, we need to get home to our sick son.”
Spencer smiled and shook his head as he allowed Hotch to guide him to the elevators. Before they got onto the elevator, Emily shouted after them with a smirk. “Sir, does this mean we should revert to handshakes when greeting Reid?”
Hotch laughed. “That’s up to Spencer- but I hear kissing is safer.”
As the elevator doors closed, the team was given one last glance of the BAU’s newly outed couple sharing a passionate kiss. The team smiled and as they got on the next elevator to go home themselves, Derek said, “I have REALLY got to start using that line!”
M’Baku’s Love- Chapter 2
Sorry, had to repost it. For some reason it was all blacked out on mobile? Idk, it’s weird and I’m still trying to understand tumblr.
Anywho, here’s Chapter 2 of M’Baku’s Love. Check out my masterlist HERE to read chapter 1 if you haven’t already, and take a look at my other stories as well. As always, let me know what you think or if you want to be tagged in anything. Enjoy!
Word count: 2689
M’Baku pulled up to the Outreach Center a little earlier than necessary on Tuesday. He got out the automated car and leaned against it, crossing his arms as he scanned over the building and its surroundings while reflecting on the mission at hand. If they were successful, thousands of Black children, millions if they expand, would be given a better education and connected to their old, pre-colonizer ways.
He smiled at the thought and turned to grab his things, when he noticed a small rainbow dash from the other side of the parking lot into the building. It took him a moment to process what he saw, but he realized it was Miss In a Hurry, rushing yet again. He smiled fondly and shook his head before heading towards the Outreach Center, opening the door and heading inside the cool, air conditioned building.
Once the chief settled in his office he went over the assistant files one more time, preparing for their interviews. He went over his upcoming day in his head and remembered that his meeting with the head of the Arts Department was at 11. He smiled to himself, dreamily, at the thought of her bright teal hair and her deep dark eyes, but shook himself out of it when he was interrupted by a knock at the door.
“Mr. M’Baku?” a tall, slender man who looked to be in his early twenties stood in the doorway dressed in slacks and a button-down.
“Yes, who is asking?”
“Deontae Greene, I’m here for my interview,” the young man introduced himself. They shook hands and the interview began. Truthfully, M’Baku didn’t need to interview the other candidates, he had already decided on hiring Deontae the moment his interview ended. He went through the motions of the second and third interview, focusing on the clock more than the interviewees. As soon as his third interview ended, he called Deontae to offer him the position, then went for a quick walk around the center to stretch his legs.
M’Baku found himself outside one of Shuri’s STEM courses, watching as the middle school aged children learned coding languages. She waved him in, and he tentatively stepped inside.
“Everybody, this is M’Baku. He’s the leader of the Jabari tribe in Wakanda.”
A chorus of “Hi M’Baku” erupted from the room, and he smiled before greeting them back.
“Mholo, children. What are you working on today?”
A little girl in the back with braces and pigtails was the first to answer.
“Princess Shuri is teaching us how to make computers work by telling it what to do in different computer languages.”
M’Baku looked at Shuri in confusion and she waved it off to explain later.
The large chief walked around the room to get a look at what they were doing, but quickly made it back to the front of the room when he caught a glimpse of the clock on the wall.
“I have a meeting, or I would stay longer princess.”
“Go, and don't be a stranger to this side of the center. Technology isn't all bad,” Shuri said with a wink as he left and shut the door behind him.
M’Baku’s long legs carried him back to his office in record time, where he was met with the sight of the head of the arts department sitting cross-legged in the chair outside his office, writing in a notebook.
“I’m sorry to have kept you waiting, I wandered down to the STEM wing and lost track of time,” M’Baku rambled on until she looked up at him. Today she had on gold wire-rimmed glasses instead of her red cat-eye frames from the day before, and he liked that he could see her eyes better with this pair. When their eyes met his heart thumped a little louder and his skin felt a little warmer. He watched a small smile brighten up her face as she set her notebook down before unravelling her legs to stand up.
“I wasn’t waiting long. Plus it was your turn to be running late this time,” she responded. M’Baku gestured for her to enter the office first and she obliged before perching cross-legged in the chair across from him. He rounded the desk and sat down, looking into her eyes.
“I do not believe we were properly introduced to one another,” he held out his hand to her, shaking it from across the desk. “I am M’Baku, as you already know from yesterday.”
“Monae Johnson. It’s nice to officially meet you, M’Baku. And my apologies about the other day, I accidentally took a nap and woke up with barely enough time to- I’m rambling, my bad, I do that sometimes.” She rubbed the back of her head..
“It is no problem, really,” more than anything, M’Baku found her adorable.
“So did you end up trying the place I suggested?”
“Yes, I am actually glad you ran into me. I loved The V Spot. It was an excellent recommendation, thank you.” M’Baku had to give props where they were due and this woman definitely knew food. “You must tell me, what else is good in the area?”
“There’s so much! What do you like?”
“I am new to most cuisines, but I am open. Our meeting ends around lunchtime, would you care to accompany me and show me something I might like?”
Monae’s chest tightened up at his seemingly unintended double entendre. The man before her was fine as aged wine and she was having a very difficult time concentrating on the conversation, instead wishing she could see how soft his lips are. She looked down at the ring on her left ring finger and sighed, knowing she’d regret her decision.
“I’d love to.”
______
“You’re a vegan, right?”
“Vegetarian, but vegan is fine.”
“Ever tried Indian food?”
“I cannot say that I have.”
“Come on, there’s a place around here with some really good lunch specials. I hope you like it.”
“Well your last suggestion was superb, so I trust you,” he said with a wink. Monae blushed and turned away, but not before he noticed. M’Baku fought to contain his smile and cleared his throat. “So are you from Oakland?”
“Nope, I’m from Nashville. A southern girl at heart,” she said with her best southern debutante affectation. “I came to Cali for college and just never left.”
“What made you stay?”
“Honestly? It never gets cold here, not the type of cold that seeps into your bones anyway. The worst I’ve felt here is chilly. I’m not made for anything below 50 degrees.”
“As chief of the Jabari I must say I am a little offended, Miss Johnson.”
Monae’s face twisted up, but then softened when she saw the glint in his eye. Was he flirting?
“My apologies, your highness,” she said with a curtsey. “But I’ll admire it from afar.” Her ring flashed in her line of vision, but she shook it out of her mind.
“Besides, you are wrong. Anything over 40 degrees is unfit for habitation. The weather here makes me want to crawl into my refrigerator.”
Monae shivered at the thought.
The two of them arrived at Bombay Palace and since he trusted her judgement, she ordered for the table. The waiter took their menus and quickly brought their waters with lemon slices.
“Are you a vegetarian as well?”
“Um sometimes. I don't eat red meat, but I still eat fish and poultry on occasion. I’m mostly plant-based though. I read that the Jabari are pescetarian, what made you switch over?”
“You have been reading about us, eh?”
“Well I like to know who I’m working with, and I imagine that over the next few months we’ll be seeing a lot of each other, so yes I read about the Jabari.”
“Yes, I would hope so,” M’Baku said before taking a sip of his water while watching her. He noticed her shiver under his gaze and adjust herself in the booth and he smirked, knowing he was getting to her. “And I just do not like the taste of fish very much. Earlier you mentioned having a dance background, do you still dance?”
“I’m so busy I barely have enough time nowadays outside of teaching a class at the center here and there.”
The waiter returned with their samosa appetizer and Monae danced in her seat a little, making M’Baku crack a smile at her endearing antics. They both dug in, M’Baku immediately thanking Hanuman for the food he had received. The familiar yet unfamiliar tastes swirled around in his mouth like a gold medal ice skater at the winter olympics, and he couldn’t get enough.
“Mmm, what is this?”
“Samosas.”
“I could eat this for the rest of my life and die a happy man.”
Monae giggled and almost choked on her food, “This is just the first course, wait until you taste the paneer.”
The two of them continued to talk as more food came out, not watching the time at all.
“How does your family feel about you living so far away?”
“Well my little sister is in college at NYU, living her own life, and my parents died six years ago in a car crash, so they don't feel much of anything anymore.”
He was torn between laughing at her joke and feeling a deep sadness for her loss.
“What’s your family like?”
“I am the oldest of ten-”
“Ten?!”
“Yes.”
“Your poor mama...”
M’Baku’s laughter roared through the restaurant and forced a laugh out of Monae as well. Of course his laugh was as big as he was, and her mind briefly wondered if everything about him was proportional to his size before she was pulled out of her daydream by a ringing telephone. She looked down and her face dropped when she read the name on her screen. “Shit. Uh, sorry I have to answer this- Hi honey...yeah of course...uh-huh...no, just out at lunch with a colleague-”
He couldn’t believe his ears. He knew for a fact that she was flirting with him, yet here he was talking to her “honey.” He wanted to roll his eyes, but instead returned them to his bowl and kept eating.
“Hey, D, can I call you back? We’re just about done here...Ok, bye.” She hung up the phone and cleared her throat.
“Boyfriend?”
“Fiance actually,” she said, showing off the ring on her finger.
“Interesting…”
“What is?”
M’Baku leaned back in his chair and looked into her eyes as he spoke.
“I was not aware you were already spoken for.”
Something about the tone of his voice made her face heat up and she crossed her legs tighter.
“I have my ring on, what would make you think otherwise?”
“That right there,” he gestured to her flushed skin and fidgeting lower half. “You are awfully flirty for someone who is betrothed.”
Monae had hoped he wouldn’t notice and they could carry on like earlier, but the moment was ruined.
M’Baku looked at his watch, realizing they spent almost two hours at the restaurant. “We should get back to the center, I am sure we are missed.”
“M’Baku, I’m sorry to lead you on, but that wasn’t my intention, I just-”
“There is no need to explain, Monae.” He flashed her his gap-toothed smile and called for the waiter to bring their check. He paid, not without plenty of arguing on her end, and they headed back to work.
Shortly after he made it back to his desk the king and prince barged in.
“Soooo…?” N’Jadaka tried to get the conversation going, but M’Baku wasn’t following.
“How did it go?” T’Challa added.
“How did what go?”
The cousins looked at each other in exasperation, and yet again the hot headed prince pushed the issue further.
“Your date nigga! We saw you and Monae walking all close and shit.”
“It was not a date,” He loved the Udakus dearly, but Hanuman, they could be an annoying and intrusive bunch. “She is engaged.”
“Barely,” the cousins said with an eye roll.
“What do you mean ‘barely’?”
“My friend, she has been engaged for three years now with no wedding plans in place and he is almost never home. Like we said: barely.”
M’Baku would never knowingly break up a happy home, but he saw her body language on the phone and she didn’t seem to be as into her fiance as she was into him. Yes he was shiny and new, but the exasperation in her voice at his interruption told him what he needed to know.
“Far be it from me to advocate for adultery, but-”
“It ain't far from me, cuz,” N’Jadaka butted in. “Bak, that beautiful fairy of a woman likes your big ape ass for some reason. Fuck that nigga, she was looking at you like you’re already daddy.”
M’Baku looked over to T’Challa who was nodding in agreement. He had watched her during their department head meeting and every time M’Baku spoke she perked up and the tension fell from her shoulders. She was definitely feeling him.
“I have met this fiance just once and did not get a good vibe from him. I am not sure what it is yet, but there is something-”
M’Baku cut him off before he could even finish. He knew if he let them continue they would end up hatching a plan and roping him into it, so he nipped it in the bud.
“Do not worry about it, I would prefer to remain unattached for the short while I am here, anyway. Now if you know someone who would like something more casual, I would not mind meeting them at some point.”
“I’ll keep an eye out, brother”
“I think the newest history teacher is single, or at least there's no ring on her finger. I can’t remember her name though, is it Keisha? Naima? Whatever it is, she’s fine as hell,” N’Jadaka’s hands outlined her voluptuous body for him, which caught his interest. “I’ll see what I can do. We gon get you some pussy bruh, on Bast.”
T’Challa simply nodded in agreement again.
“Thank you both for your concern,” M’Baku responded dryly. “Now if you gentlemen would excuse me, I have to meet with the social studies department head in a minute.”
“We understand when we are not wanted, but please at least let N’Jadaka set you up. You need to get back out there again, it’s been more than enough time,” the king patted his friend’s shoulder before leaving the room, his cousin doing the same.
______
M’Baku’s last meeting didn’t end until 5 pm, and he was more than ready to get home, cook dinner, and watch a little more Fresh Prince. He packed up his things and headed out towards his car, when out of the corner of his eye he spotted Monae on the other side of the parking lot struggling with several boxes. He jogged over and took them from her hands.
“Here, let me.”
“How are you everywhere?” She laughed.
“You are just lucky, I guess.” He flashed her his million-dollar smile and she was hooked again. Derrick be damned.
“Yeah, I guess I am...um, thank you M’Baku...well uh, I should go. Busy day tomorrow with the open house and all.”
“Ah yes, what exactly is an open house?”
She chuckled at his naivety.
“Basically people from the community get to come here after hours to see what we offer. Think of it like a mass tour.”
“Interesting, well since I have nothing to show them on this tour I am sure I will have time to help if you need it.”
“Thank you, M’Baku, I just might take you up on that.”
“Good. Well, you should go home and rest for the big day ahead. I will see you tomorrow Monae.”
“Get home safe!”
It warmed his heart to hear her caring about his safety, even if it's something she said to everybody. A dreamy smile parted his lips and he felt as if she had just kissed his cheek and sent him on his way.
“You as well, Monae. You as well...”
Poltergeist boyfriend
Bill Denbrough x Stanley Uris
When his parents told him that they were moving, Bill expected a new house or a futuristic apartment, but instead he got an old and rusty house. So there he was, big box full of books in hands, looking the house up and down with a sour look in his usually bright eyes. He looked at the window of the left upstairs bedroom, where he saw a figure looking at him. He looked around to find hid mom, but the figure was gone when he looked back. Stupid old house, stupid long road, stupid heavy box. Georgie, on the other hand was more than happy to go inside, running around the porch and urging everyone to move faster. Bill went inside and asked his mom to see his bedroom. She pointed the medium one upstairs, the same room where he saw that figure.
The next day he went to his new highschool. There, he met Eddie, Richie, Ben and Bev. He hit it off with Bev, but there was never gonna be anything between them, as Bev was dating Ben and Bill was very gay. The school was ok: the teachers were kind, the halls were clean and bullying was taken very seriously. Plus it was only five minutes away from home, which meant that Bill could get there in time to say bye to his parents before they left for work. For lunch he had mashed potatoes with chiken, his favourite. While he was eating, he heard a loud thud coming from his bedroom. Licking his fingers of grease, he went upstairs, ready to yell at Georgie for going in his bedroom. But the bedroom was empty. The only thing out of place was the picture of him and Mike, his old friend for the other town. When he picked it up he could swear he saw the same figure behind him in the glass. Placing the picture back, he ran downstairs to finish his meal. Little did he know, that would be the first of many encounters with the supernatural being.
Things started getting weirder and weirder over the next a few weeks. Wednesdays were Alphabet Soup days for the Denbroughs, but they got strange for Bill. Everytime he'd pick a spoon of letters, they would always spell things like: youre cute, i like u, i love u. He'd come home to see drawings of him and a boy on his desk. He blamed Georgie at first, but the young boy denied everything. All the drawings showed Bill either hugging or kissing this curly haired boy. He even saw this boy in his dreams, either looking out the window or playing the piano in the living room. Whenever Bill would open his english notebook he'd be met by short love poems, always signed S.U. But the worse happened when he brought people over.
The first time someone came over, it was boy named Jake, who was Bill's project partner. He only stayed in Bill's bedroom for five minutes, while Bill was making tea, when he cursed loudly and ran out of the house calling Bill nuts. Bill chased after him, confused and hurt, but looking to his bedroom window from the front yard, he saw the curly haired boy dissapear behind the curtains. This happened to everyone who came over to Bill's. It even happened to Eddie. The boy left after 30 minutes, saying someone was watching him and throwing stuff at his head. Bill was desperate, to the point where he begged Beverly to help him. Bev was a witch, so she was more than happy to help him figure the problem out. Her best guess was that a spirit that was bound to the house had taken a liking in Bill and was trying to chase potential partners away.
The plan was for Bill to hold hands with Bev, pretend to be dating so the spirit would give her its worst. That was exactly what happened, but Bev stood her ground. She ignored the yelling in her ear, the things thrown at her and the very scray ghost following her. At some point, Bill saw the ghost and warned Beverly that it was a diffrent one. The usual ghost was a boy with light curly hair and kind brown eyes. Beverly said that this scary ghost was a shape the boy was taking to scare her away. After a couple hours, Bev pulled Bill into the living room.
"Bill, I have to leave. Here you go. Inside this box there’s a ouija board. You have to paly alone, so that the poltergeist will have to join you. I also wrote you instructions on a paper I taped on the back of the box. This being really really likes you, so there’s nothing to worry about. I’m just worried I might anger it by staying longer. You’ll be fine.” and with that she left. Bill took the board and the planchette to his bedroom. Sitting down he read the mantra Bev gave him outloud and looked around.
“I’m alone, supernatural being, so you have to join me. Please join me.” With that, Bill lifted his head to see the curtains move. He was a little freaked out, but he calmed himself down. The scary ghost emerged form the other side of the room, looking around with wild eyes. It passed Bill by, yelling and ran downstairs. Bill was thanking God that neither Bev, nor his parents or Georgie were home to see the scene unfold. The door behind him opened again and Bill saw the boy coming in the room and sitting on the floor, oposite of where he sat. The supernatural being was in its regular form, probably calming down after seeing Bev was gone. It put its hand on the planchette moving it around to spell “Hi Bill”.
“Hi! Can you please tell me your name?”
“Stanley Uris. My family lived here 45 years ago.”
“But you’re supposed to be alive today.”
“I am, but I was killed in an accident at school. Two kids locked me in the boiler room as a prank. A teacher found me dead 12 days later. I was burried in the back yard of this house.”
“Why do you harass my friends? Why do you give me poems and drawing?”
“Cause I like you and I dunno how to express it. I chase people away cause I’m afraid you’ll like them more cause they’re alive. Was that girl your girlfriend?”
“She is a friend, I’m gay. I did that to make you respond.”
“I would’ve responded either way. You have nice eyes. And I like your drawings. You’re cute when you are focused.”
“You’re cute now. Is there any way I can make you be alive, sort of. Like in Beetlejuice?”
“I am dead. What’s Beetlejuice?”
“A musical about a demon. If someone said his name three times, he could be touched and seen, it was almost like he was real again.”
“I am not a demon, but I get it. You can make me real, sort of real. By allowing me to come into your world at will. You need black salt and moon water. Your witch friend has them for sure. You also need a picture of me. You can find one in the attic. You can do it tomorrow. I’ll guide you.” and with that, Stan moved the planchette to goodbye and went back to the window, where he vanished. Bill instantly called Bev and asked her for black salt and moonwater. Bev was happy to help again.
The next day, right after Georgie left to meet up with his friends, Bill dashed to the attic and looked in all the furniture until he found a picture of Stan. It was a picture of him playing the piano. Bill took it, ran to his room to get the board, took the salt and water from his backpack and ran to his bedroom. Stanley responded in less than a second.
“You got everything?”
“Yes, but you need to tell me what to do with them.”
“You need to go to the backyard and take 27 small steps from the back door forward. You’ll be somewhat above my body. You need to sprinkle salt around yourself in a circle, emerge the photo in moonwater and put it in front of your feet. Put some more salt on the picture and say this: I, Bill Denbrough, allow Stanley Uris to come back into this world at free will. I will be the only one to see him. He’ll step in the land of the living and come out of it whenever he wants. That should do it. I’ll be watching you.”
“Will I be able to touch you that way?”
“Yes.”
“Will you be able to leave the house?”
“Yes. I’ll also be able to return to land of the dead if I’ll feel like it.”
“Cool. Ok. Let’s do it.” And with that Bill went in the backyard and did exactly as Stanley had instructed him. At first it seemed like nothing happened, so Bill decided to go back inside. Once inside, he felt a hand on his shoulder while going up the stairs. Turning around he came face to face with Stanley.
“Hi, Bill! Wow you have soft skin. I have soft skin. Your clothes look nice. Mine are kinda old. Your hair is so soft as well. Mine is curlier then yours I don’t really like it that much. What do you think? Is my hair that bad?” Stanley started rambling. Bill just looked at him with wide eyes. He was real. Bill took a step forward, throwing himself in Stanley’s arms. Stanley didn’t respond at first, but hugged back in the end. It was going to be one hell of a ride, teaching Stanley how to be human again, how would his parent’s react, showing Stanley the modern world, but he was ready. After all, Bill would do anything for love.
Hello, Erica here! I just wanted to thank @bi-teen-angst for the headcannons posted their account. Sorry for the bad grammar and for the fact that I am 1 year late with this. I wish everyone the best.
Space Date
Oikawa Tooru
Pairing: oikawa/xreader
Word count: 1.5k
+ summary: You have tickets to amazing new planetarium but known one wants to go with you that’s until your friend suggest the only other person in school that enjoys space just as much as you do.
Genre: Fluff
"Yes! Yes!" You cheered at lunch.
"You won the contest?" Aiko asked.
"Yes. I got 2 tickets to the new planetarium and I get it all to myself for an hour before everyone else and of course one lucky guest." You looked around the lunch table at all your friends.
"No offense Y/n but we don't find planets and stars are all that interesting."
"Aww, then what do with the extra ticket. I guess I could sell it." You frowned a little.
"N/n!” Your nickname only given by Aoba Johsai pretty setter was shouted and followed by demand, “Tell Iwa I'm smart!" Oikawa shouted from the neighboring table.
"Shittykawa leave her alone. I'm sorry for his behavior Y/n."
"It's fine. I'm used to him being a dumbass." You chuckled.
"So mean Y/n." He whipped his head back to his table.
"Hey Y/n doesn't Oikawa believe in aliens and they're from space? You can ask him to go with you?"
"Uh, I don't think so. I mean I get small threats when he walks me home after our clubs from his fangirls." I said. Aiko rolled her eyes and picked up a can of soda and threw it at Oikawa's head.
"Hey Y/n that was mean!"
"She didn't do it I did. Oikawa you like space right?"
"Yeah it's interesting and so are the extraterrestrials."
"Yeah probably because you want to find your home planet." Iwaizumi stated. Oikawa stuck his tongue out at him.
"Y/n over here has 2 tickets to the new planetarium and she gets an hour to herself before it opens to the rest of the public. You are taking her."
"Ok. I would very much like to take Y/n on a date."
"It's not a date weirdo," You said, feeling your cheeks get a little red.
"Ok. What time should I come to your house tonight?"
"Around 5:00 I think is ok. We can go to the planetarium and then we can get food afterward. I have to get back to class now. Come on Aiko we are going to be late."
"But the bell hasn't rung yet."
"We are always late and we get in trouble. Now let's go." I grabbed Aiko by her jacket and pulled her away from the table. "See you, idiots, later."
"I embarrassed you didn't I?"
"What do you think?!" You said a little aggravated. "Sorry, but I told you it was just a little crush. Not even worth measuring on my fingers."
"I think you would cute together."
"You better hope no one hears about this because I can't take any more of those fangirls. Someone threw milk bread at me the other day and it was a burnt batch." You rubbed your head in the spot you were hit with milk bread.
"I like to see those girls try and take on me." She put her fist up.
"You don't need to get into any more trouble." You laughed.
There was knocking on your front door. You looked at the time and out the window. You rushed to get downstairs before your mother-
"Oh Hi Mrs. L/n. I'm here to pick up Y/n for our date."
Too late.
"I told you it wasn't a date." You grumbled at the top of the stairs. He was staring at you. This is what happens when you tell your mom that Oikawa and you were going to the planetarium.
She always thought Oikawa Tooru was a very charming, kind, young gentleman that she thought of you put effort into the way you look tonight for the young aspiring setter.
Like you wouldn’t want to look nice for him.
"Dumbass stop staring. I may not have the same strength as Iwaizumi but I'll still hit you."
"Y/n that's no way to talk to your date." Your mother commented.
"It's ok Mrs. L/n, I was just teasing Y/n. Sorry I didn't mean to stare Y/n."
"It's fine. We got to go or we'll be late. Bye, mom see you later."
"Please take care of my daughter Tooru."
"Will do Mrs. L/n." You rushed Oikawa out the door. "You aren't actually going to hit me Y/n, right?"
"Of course not Dumbass. Just don't look at me like that."
"Can't help it you look pretty. Oh, I forgot I got you these on the way here." He handed you a bouquet.
"Thank you. Seriously though if we don't start going we are going to be late."
"Hm. You, young people, don't understand the concept of punctuality."
"We are very sorry sir. It was my fault I was running late picking up my girlfriend. I was practicing a little too much in the gym today."
"Oh, honey leave the 2 kids alone. What matters is that they are here." A woman said next to the man. "Aren't you two cute together. Aren't you the setter from Aoba Johsai?"
"Yes, I am Madam. But tonight is about taking my girlfriend on a date."
"Yes of course. You two enjoy yourselves." You handed the lady the tickets and walked forward with Oikawa.
"So what place do you want to go first?" He turned his head towards you. "Are you alright Y/n?"
"You called me your girlfriend."
"Sorry, it was just a ruse so they would let us by and not waste anymore of our precious time here. I know winning these tickets was important to you Y/n."
"I forgot you do that sometimes."
"Do what?"
"You know the fake smile thing you do. You use it all the time. It's hard to know if you are really smiling about things anymore."
"I do not always use it."
"Yes, you do. Around your fangirls, people at school, and the press. I wish I could see your genuine smile."
"Y/n but I smile all the time when I'm with you."
"Hmm. Looks a lot like your fake one. Let's go this way." You pulled him along to the stars exhibit.
After an hour and a half in the planetarium, you and Oikawa decided that you should go get something to eat. You ended up staying for an extra 30 minutes to see a short movie about mars.
"So why did you bring me to this special opening?" He asked as you were getting some food.
"I didn't Aiko did."
"Then why did she decided for you to bring me?"
You blushed a little. "Because none of my friends like space and she didn't want me going alone to the city. And she knew you liked it." You started to take out your wallet.
"Nope, I'm paying. It's my treat. Think of it as a thank you."
"Fine. But I'll pay for dessert."
"We'll see." He smirked.
"Truth be told I wish I just came by myself. It's nothing against you Oikawa but some of your fangirls are getting out of hand." You laughed.
"Hm. Did they hurt you?" His demeanor changed to more serious
"Burnt milk bread to the head doesn't exactly feel the greatest. And the little-death notes in my lockers are a little excessive."
He made a sad face and brought you closer to him. "So you are afraid of how they will retaliate after our date."
"This isn't a date Tooru Oikawa." You said pushing him away.
"Oya? Using my first name Y/n?" He teased.
"Why did you agree Oikawa? Hm. I can think of a million over things you could do than spend an evening with me."
"Y/n I like hanging out with you. You are very charming and not the fake kind of charming I do. You are very kind and you do love volleyball."
"I didn't know liking volleyball was in the criteria of being your friend."
"Oh ho ho but the thing is..." He got down on one knee and held your hand "...I want you to be my girlfriend."
"Huh? Me?" You pointed to yourself.
"Uh yes you."
"Did the steak curry poisoned you or something?" You asked.
"Y/n you don't need to accept my feelings but know that they are there."
"About me?"
"Damnit Y/n. Yes about you. I've been in love with you since I laid eyes on you. I "accidentally" threw the volleyball in your direction just so I could talk to you." He yelled in frustration. He was doing weird hand gestures.
"Ok. Calm down. I-I like you too."
"You better not be saying that to make me feel better or something."
"Dumbass I have a crush on you. But it was a small one."
"Aww Y/n that's so cute. Is that a yes then?"
"No dumbass I'm just going to walk away. Of course, it's a yes idiot."
"You are starting to sound like Iwa."
"Please don't get me and your boyfriend confused with each other. I'm much kinder to you than him."
"Iwa is not my boyfriend!"
"Uh-huh. He's your volleyball boyfriend." You said making smooching noises at him before he lightly kissed you.
"That sure did shut you up." He chuckled.
"Oi, s-shut up you." I stammered out as I felt my face heat up.
"You are so cute Y/n."
ok, so, completely randomly i was reading up about how school causes depression and anxiety in kids and teenagers, and I found this article (i’ll link it below), and at first I was like,
“oh, wow! Cool! It seems like they’re actually gonna explain why the school system works so horribly!”
And then, not even done with the summary, it says;
“In order to counteract adolescent depression in schools and the resulting stigma, teens and parents need to be educated about mental health. Thus, they will be better equipped to help others, offer support, and even save lives.”
....
And, while this is true, it totally ignores the fact that the schools are causing these problems in the first place.
It’s not the kid’s or parent’s fault that school is making them depressed.
ITS THE SCHOOL’S FAULT
And it gets worse throughout the article, blaming kid’s cellphones and being “too protected” as reasons why they’re experiencing problems in school. While the article does list some reasons that could contribute to a teenager’s depression, it completely ignores the pressure put on the kids by the schools and parents.
The article even mentions that 50% of teens feel like they’re addicted to their smartphones, without acknowledging the fact that most teens use their cellphones as ways of socialization, or even using them as coping mechanisms. Then, not even a paragraph later, the article says;
“Ultimately, the focus on screens and social media causes damage to relationships, education, and extracurricular activities. Thus, it can contribute to teen depression, as well as ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, and anxiety.”
Again, let me remind you what this article was supposed to be about;
“adolescent depression in schools”
keywords; in schools
The article basically then goes on to blame it all on cellphones, peer pressure, and bullying.
(this is turning into a rant, sorry)
They mention a project where a group of adults, posing as teens, went undercover in a highschool to learn what it’s like to be a teenager. And while I think this is a start to understanding teens, they only collected information about the social pressures of the highschool community. They also mentioned how the adults took classes with the teens, which doesn’t make sense. Of course, while it is important to observe the classroom atmosphere, they adults have already learned a lot of the stuff the classes are teaching. They also didn’t take into account the fact that kids had lives outside of school or things they didn’t feel comfortable sharing that could attribute to mental illness. I’ve actually noticed this a lot, when adults try to figure out why teens are doing so badly with their mental health, they immediately look at their social lives. I might be slightly biased, but I’m under the assumption that most of the problems are caused by the school and education system itself, not the kids social life (or lack thereof).
Schools in America nowadays are more focused on profit and reputation then kids’ mental and even physical health. If you don’t think this is true, look up the statistics for what schools tend to spend their money on, how many fundraisers schools have, and what kids are eating in their school lunches.
Along with that, students face intense amounts of pressure from parents to get good grades and do well academically. While it is important that they’re learning, parent’s tactics tend to be abusive and uncaring, such as taking away devices and threatening teens with things like taking away their food and shelter, which, if you can imagine, isn’t going to help the kid do better in school. Tactics like these just cause even more stress, making school harder. Not to mention, most times that help is offered to the kids, it’s not necessarily benefited from. Like, for example, when parents try to help their kids with schoolwork, they tend to get frustrated if the kid doesn’t understand. A lot of children and teens are empathetic enough to realize that the adult is getting frustrated, which can make them feel guilty. Even worse, some parents will get so angry that they yell at their kids, accusing them of not paying attention in class, or not caring about their education, when in reality the information is delivered in a way that is too hard to process or just straight up not understandable. Teens might also be offered to study with a tutor, which, though it can genuinely help with improving grades, doesn’t solve the problems that were most likely there in the first place, like the extreme stress and anxiety. Furthermore, teenagers are basically taught that they only need to memorize information long enough to take a test, and not to retain it. Adding onto this, is the stress of knowing that they will soon have to basically decide their future, by choosing what to study and what college to go to. Not to mention all of the political bullshit happening, that they know greatly impacts their future (sorry for cursing, but I feel like it was justified here). Moving on,....
Another thing this article says is,
“Today’s teens are more protected than in the past. Parents try to shield them from experiencing failure and disappointment. Therefore, teens often have fewer chances to build resilience. Thus, they don’t learn how to cope with challenges.”
I think basically any teenager in the american public school system would agree with me when I say ;
The schools are challenging teens too much.
Because, and any young people know this is true, the amount of information expected to be learned is much more now then it ever has been. And, yes, it’s because there’s always new things being discovered, but the schools are trying to teach all of it, and at the same pace as they taught 40 years ago. Along with this, some teens don’t feel comfortable talking about their issues with their parents, the few people they’re supposed to trust, due to past experiences. And even then, sometimes when they do work up the courage and tell their parents about how stressful their life is, the parents will dismiss their problems as complaints to get out of things they don’t want to do, or, even worse, use the whole “well, when I was your age....” shtick, which solves absolutely nothing.
Another thing the article forgets to mention is the fact that schools decrease a child’s creative development, by forcing them to push it aside for things more academic. Development of creative intelligence is just as important as academic intelligence- I’m not quiet sure how to explain this concept, but if you look up Eddy Zong’s TED talk, it is explained very well.
I’m not sure what else to say, besides that basically everything this article says comes from the viewpoint of adults who haven’t looked at the full picture, and end up blaming the issues onto the incorrect things.
Article in question
Once Bitten, Twice Shy - Part One
Request by @ratatata-ah While Oscar is incarcerated, the reader took care of Cesar and when Oscar gets out he and the reader (Monse’s cousin) meet for the first time. Oscar quickly becomes infatuated with the reader and invites her to his “welcome home” party to get to know her more. The reader is shy and Oscar is very flirtatious trying to get her to open up more. Long story short, the series could be about Oscar falling in love with the reader
Monse and her crew had been friends since birth it seemed. In truth, I suppose it was grade school when they were all kinders and the rag-tag group had formed. Monse, always her style, had been the outspoken one who took quickly to learning. Cesar had kept up with her academically and they had often found themselves in the same groups assigned by their teachers. The pair’s quick wit and blunt personalities had matched right away. Cesar was also a protector. Even as small children Ruby and Jamal had been in need of that. And so the small group of wildly different perspectives had formed.
Sitting in the Diaz house now watching them argue about the rules for Clue, I rolled my eyes. Their little group seemed to conflict more than they agreed, and yet the soon to be high schoolers seemed tight as ever. Often when you were watching them spend time together like this you were slightly jealous of their tight bond. Despite any bickering or arguments, the group always had each other’s backs. They protected and supported one another. The world be damned and destroyed if it tried to hold down any one of the four.
Many times I’d wished my friendships were like that. Of course they weren’t. Sure I had friends but I am a continuous giver without much reciprocation. I am a part of several friend groups due to my kind spirit and personality, but none of those groups ever felt like my own, not the way the Core 4 belonged to each other. It probably was related to my hesitant and unsure nature when it came to sharing myself with others. It was easier to be a yes woman and do what was asked of me than build any personal connections.
Shaking away the thoughts of self pity and jealousy, because those never resulted in anything good, I elected to see what was still in the fridge from my last shopping trip. Opening the door I saw a few things but nothing of substance left. I nodded to myself, grabbing the keys off the countertop and heading towards the door.
“I’m going to the store,” I announced, my words unheard over the game, “Ay!” I shouted over their voices to try again. Four sets of eyes trained on me. “Cesar and Monse, any requests from the store for food this week?” Both preteens shook their heads negative. “Ok, well I’m going now then, and then when I get back…”
“Everybody better get their asses outside to help carry it in.” They answered.
I nodded, “And then everybody is going home,” which was answered by 4 sets of eye rolls. “Eh, eh, it’s a school night,” four more nods. “Last call on requests because…”
“I’m only going once” they echoed again, cutting me off.
“Awww,” I replied sweetly tugging at Monse’s check who was closest to me, “I have trained you so well.” I giggled and headed out the door as the bickering started again.
The mothering thing had come naturally to me, but I guess that was to be expected, I had raised myself from a young age. When Uncle Monty first started long hauls he was only gone overnight and I’d gone to stay with Monse. But the money was better and I was free anyways so nights turned to weekends, and weekends, turned to weeks, and those weeks were sometimes continuous. I’d lived there through most of high school and simply stayed after I graduated three years ago. I’d always been able to go out on a limb for either Monse or Cesar and be more assertive, but when it came to myself that was a skill I lacked.
After Cesar’s brother had gotten locked up, he’d been a mess. How was a 10 year old kid supposed to take care of himself? And the truth was, he wasn’t. In fact, it was by some miracle at all that he’d been overlooked and allowed to continue to live outside of the foster system himself. And I intended to keep him that way. Sure, he was alone a lot, but the Core 4 and myself also tried to have him around as much as possible. So really, he wasn’t alone all that much more than you or Monse. The thought of foster care just did too much to disrupt his life so you’d made it your mission to make sure it didn’t happen to either of them.
Pulling the coffee off the pot and pouring it into the cup I slid my phone out of my pocket and speed dialed 2. “Hello” came the groggy voice on the other end.
“Morning, sleepy head” he smiled into the phone, “Have you taken a shower yet?” The voice mumbled an affirmative. “What’d you have for breakfast?” The voice slurped into the phone as if to answer the question.
Mouth clearly full, the answer was garbled, “Cereal”.
I nodded to myself, “Brushed your teeth?”
“YES MOM” was answered from the frustrated half yell.
“Listen here friend,” I started, “it’s a call or a visit, you want your mornings to yourself you just answer.”
“I know” Cesar conceded, “I have to get dressed so I’ll be ready when everybody gets here.
“Have a great day, learn something new, and…be good” we finished in unison. “Bye, companero”
“Bye”
I hung up and took the first deep gulp of piping hot coffee. Ok, one down, one to go. I marched off towards Monse’s room where I completed almost the same routine with much more resistance from Monse than Cesar had given me. The teen years were going to be fun.
With everyone off to school you hurried around to tidy up the house, finish getting ready for work, and barely made it out the door on time.
Monse had just left for writing camp for the summer. For the first time in a long time, there wasn’t a kid in the house for you to take care of. You’d picked up extra shifts, carefully scheduling them when Cesar should be asleep or with friends so that he wouldn’t be alone all the time.
As seemed to be my norm, I had done some favors for my friends this morning and was completely behind when I had wanted to leave. I texted Cesar apologizing and letting him know I would make a late lunch, instead of noon as we had planned. No response yet, I hoped he hadn’t decided to eat without me.
I hurried to finish getting ready and chose to leave the house with soaking wet hair. I mean Cesar has seen me before, no need to waste anymore time getting prepped, we were just having lunch.
I pulled into the drive and noticed quite a few more cholos in the yard. I frowned, that’s weird, sometimes different homies come around to check on Cesar, but never this many. Something had to be going on.
I stepped out of the car and headed for the house. Opening the door I yelled for Cesar, “Hey, Cesar, just me. I’ll get lunch started!” I made my way into the kitchen without really taking a look around, “Also, what’s going on, there’s like a bunch of people outside.” I pulled the ingredients for lunch from the cabinets and the fridge with ease, after all it’s not my first time cooking here.
“Uh, Y/N” Cesar said, seemingly hesitant near the fridge.
“What’s up dude” I smiled and continued about my business.
“And who do you think you are?” a deep, booming, voice came from behind where Cesar stood.
I turned and my jaw dropped to see Cesar’s older brother Spooky behind him. Blinking a few times, I gathered myself.
“Uh, hi, Spooky” I started, then gained a little more confident and raised my voice above a whisper, “You probably don’t know me, I am Monse’s cousin, Y/N.” You paused as the information didn’t seem to answer his question, his face hard and betrayed no emotion. “Um, I have been watching out for Cesar since you’ve been gone.” I finished.
“Yeah, Oscar, she’s been awesome. She checks on me every day, and does the grocery shopping, and well most of the cooking too.” Cesar started his words tumbling out in a rush.
“Monse’s cousin?” he asks.
I nod, “Yeah, my mom is Uncle Monty’s, that’s Monse’s dad, sister. I didn’t move to Freeridge full time until she died” I shrugged, it was old news.
He nodded as if taking in this new information. “Well thanks for taking care of my mano'' he said, placing his hand on Cesar’s shoulder.
“Now I get why everyone is outside” I answered, turning back to the food, “well” I said clicking my teeth and surveying the contents of the fridge. “I don’t think I have what we need to serve everybody. But I can do lunch for the three of us.” I said turning back to the Diaz brothers and waving my pointer finger in a circle at each of us and each nodded in turn.
“Give me like” I made a calculating face waving my hands in that little up down motion for about “20 minutes and it’ll be on the table. Give or take.” I amended my previous statement.
When I finished lunch, I laid it out on the table and mostly listened to Cesar detail to Spooky everything that had gone on since he’d been locked up. There was a lot to catch up on in Cesar’s life, and that of the block. Mostly I was quiet but every now and then Cesar would turn to me for a detail or I’d prod him about a subject that he’d forgotten to include. Spooky would look at me intently each time I did speak and I couldn’t figure out the look he was wearing when he did.
After lunch I cleaned up and was headed for home. “Ay, Y/N” Spooky stopped me before I left for the afternoon. “We’re having a party tomorrow night. Beers on me, thanks for taking such good care of Cesar.”
Standing in your room you weren’t quite sure what you should wear. Parties weren’t really your thing after all. The concept was always appealing but the practice was always less than desirable. At the time that you had accepted it had sounded like a fine idea and now you weren’t really looking forward to it at all. You weren’t even sure you’d know anyone there at all except Spooky. Well and possibly Cesar, but, the idea of drinking with a nearly 14 year old made your motherly, legal, brain uncomfortable. You laughed at yourself, because a Santos party was the place to be concerned about legality.
Sighing and looking back at your bed you decided to play eeny meeny miney mo with yourself. If you didn’t choose soon you’d chicken out entirely. I wanted to try to be a little more adventurous and also I had told Spooky I would be there, if I don’t go it’s like backing out on a promise. In the end you ended up with a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and a strappy but flowy tank. My hair isn’t usually as unruly as Monse’s, but today I had no such luck. I threw it in a couple of tight braids and hurried to put on some make up. I looked at myself in the mirror on my door as I tied my converse. Close enough, I thought.
When I got to the Diaz house I was grateful for 3 things, my outfit allowed me to stay relatively cool and comfortable even in the California summer evening, I had chosen to walk because the curb was packed with cars, and Cesar was right out front. If it hadn’t been for his catching my eye, I probably would have turned around before ever stepping foot into the party. There were a lot of people here, like A LOT of people.
Cesar had taken me to the backyard as he’s been instructed by Spooky and cracked open my choice of beers. I was both afraid to drink too much and too socially awkward not to get a little liquor courage in my veins. “Next, stop, Spooky” Cesar announced.
“What?” I asked eyebrows furrowed.
“He said he wanted to know when you got here, he was by the DJ last time I saw him” Cesar turned and began snaking through the people in the yard and a beat or two later I was following him.
Fresh Start Part 2
Barba x Reader
Warning: mentions of rape.
Enjoy :) fluff comes soon i promise.
You and Nick had been out all afternoon canvassing the local area. There was not much to go off. You stopped to pick up a late lunch for everyone before heading back to the precinct. You and Nick had got to know a little about each other while you were out. Just as you were about to get out of the car, Nick put his hand on your shoulder, you turned to look at him,
‘Y/N, I’am glad i have been given a partner like you, your alright.”
You giggled and looked back at him, “Right back at you partner.”
You both walked into the bullpen and you sat at your desk, Nick handed out the lunch to everyone else. He came back and sat down across from you. You swallowed your food and looked up at Nick.
“I’m going to check the traffic cams, maybe something might come up.” Nick nodded and went back to eating and telling Fin and Amanda about how you guys walked all around the city and couldn't find camera’s and the ones you did find didn't show anything.
Just as he finished you said under your breath, “Oh shit.” “What is it?” Nick said getting up and walking around to stand behind you, followed by Amanda and Fin.
“We have a problem” your eyes wide, and looking at the screen pointing.
The young girl who said she left the party at 2 am to walk through the park and was raped, you had found her on the traffic cam at midnight , walking across a crossing close to the party venue with her cloths already ripped and looking like a mess.
“Liv you better come look what Y/N just found.” Yelled Fin, Liv walked out of her office and over to where they were all standing.
“Good work Y/N” and she patted you on the shoulder after seeing the footage and the time stamp. “I want you to call Barba and tell him what you found. Amanda and Nick go to her house and show her this and see if she will talk.” Before Liv walked away, she handed you a card with all Rafael’s details on it. “Call the office first and see he if he can talk, if not text him from your phone and tell him you need to talk to him ASAP.” Liv said and walked away.
You huffed, Fin put his hand on your shoulder, “He really isn't that bad, his bark is worse then his bite, you’ll get used to it.”
Your stomach filled with butterflies all over again. You pick up your desk phone to dial the office number.
“Hello, ADA’s office, Carmen speaking, how may i help you?”
“Hey Carmen, I’m Detective Y/N Y/N” before you could finish your words
“Oh Hey Y/N, Mr Barba told me about the new squad member, nice to meet you. Hopefully I can put a face to the name one day soon” she said with a giggle.
“ Like wise Carmen, I’m with SVU now so I’am sure I’ll have to come in sometime,” you both giggled together.
“Is Mr Barba in his office?”
“No, he is in court. Can i take a message to give to him.”
“Uh, Liv gave me his mobile number and told me that if he isn't in his office to message his phone. I better take the orders its only my first week.”
Carmen giggled, “ No problems, if you need anything else just call me back, OK?”
“No problems Carmen. Nice to meet you, Bye.”
“Same, Bye.”
You picked up your phone with another huff, Fin looked at you and giggled, “Not in his office hey?”
“No” you rolled your eyes.
You opened up messages and started a new one, you looked over the number you typed twice to make sure it was the right one.
You- 3.30pm : Hey Mr Barba, Its Detective Y/N, Liv asked me to get in touch to fill you in about the case, I just called your office and you weren't in, could you please call me back as soon as you get a chance, Thanks.”
The butterflies where going crazy, you got back to work. 20 minutes later Amanda and Nick walked back in with a mix of emotions on their faces.
“Didn't go well?” you asked
“No, she thinks, we think she is lying. Her Mum lost it and kicked us out.” Nick said.
You bit you bottom lip, “What if we ask Barba if we can get a warrant for the camera footage from the venue. Maybe we might find something.”
Just then you heard his voice, “ Well I can try, but I don’t know what judge would sign off on that without more evidence.” said Barba.
You looked at him, he was holding his case in one hand, a coffee in the other, he looked directly at you with a small side smile, “I got your message, what do you need to fill me in with? Maybe you have something that i can swing a judge to give a warrant.”
Your stomach was going crazy, but you got up and walked over to the big screen TV and all the evidence on the white board. You started to explain to him about how you and Nick went building by building, block by block and found every little, but when you logged onto the traffic cams, you had found your victim walking across a crossing looking like she had already been attacked, 2 hours before she said it happened.
You paced in front of the board talking so passionately about why you needed the warrant for the venue's camera’s, and how Nick and Amanda were thrown out of her house because they thought she was lying. Barba couldn't take his eyes off you. Were you always this passionate or was it because your were trying to impress him
“Are you done?” said Barba with a snap, you blushed with his reaction
“Better watch out Counsellor, you might be out of a job when the DA meets Y/N at the gala next week.” Nick said with a smirk
Barba looked at you and rolled his eyes.
“I’ll talk to a Judge, but i cant promise anything.”
You started to walk back to your desk, you where standing on the edge looking into the space. Everyone was still looking at the video, well so you thought, you felt a tap on your shoulder, “Good job, I’ll message you if i get the warrant. Good Night Detective” He said with a nod and he walked out.
“Night.”
----
On his ride home all he could think about was you. How passionate you got while you where talking. He couldn't get over how beautiful you looked today, in your pink button down and your navy tight fitting ankle length dress pants. Your hair was up in a higher bun today, with a bit of a puff at the front and some strains down the side of your face and being able to see more of your neck. You were coming to the gala next week. That excited him, giving him something to look forward too. It was fair to say you guys would most likely not get a chance to talk as you were the new, beautiful SVU squad member, everyone would want to have a piece of you. What chance would he have, he was old and run down, but just to see you out of work, maybe giving him some eye candy, that’s what he was excited about.
****
Your phone buzzed as you walked into the bullpen the next morning
9am- Barba: Your warrant is ready when you are Detective
9.01am- Y/N: Oh really, thanks Barba, you didn't disappoint.
9.05am- Barba: I very rarely disappoint Detective
What the hell was that come back meant to mean? You thought to yourself.
9.08- Y/N: Ah ok haha I’m just waiting for Nick and ill be in to pick it up
9.10- Barba: Sure
----
You and Nick had just got to Barba’s office to pick up the warrant. You walked in and a tall beautiful woman was sitting behind the desk.
“Hey Carmen, he in?” Nick asked
“Yeah, he is in a mood be careful,” she looked over at you.
“Hey Carmen, I’m Y/N, nice to finally meet you.”
She stood and took your hand in hers, “ Like wise Y/N.” Just then Nicks phone rang, “Its Maria, i better get this, you go ahead, wait here and ill come get you when I’m finished.”
You almost fainted when Nick walked away, he was your comfort and he just walked away. You walked towards the door, but you froze. A hand came to your shoulder,
“His bark is worse then his bite.”
“ So everyone keeps telling me” you giggled back.
You knocked on the door, “Come in” you heard back. You opened the door and walked in. There he was sitting in is big brown chair behind his big oak desk with paper work all around and his computer on, his suit jacket off hanging up, his vest undone, tie lose with the top button undone, and his sleeves rolled up. His hair was perfectly gelled in place and he smelled divine.
“What do you need?” not even looking up, “Is that how you greet everyone that walks in your office?” you snapped back before you could even think. He looked up with a wide smile on his face and looked in your eyes.
“Detective. Your here alone?”
“No, Nick is on the phone, he will be here in a minute.” Your hands where shaking and sweaty. He stood up, walked around his desk and handed you the warrant, “Thanks” he nodded back at you. “I told you i don’t disappoint Y/N.”
You blushed and went to head out. “Didn't Nick tell you to wait here?”
“Yes but your busy, I’ll go and find him.”
“No wait, lets talk.” You nodded.
“So your going to the gala next weekend?” he said, “Yes it will be my first.”
“Maybe if we can close the case, we could catch up for a drink that night?”
Just then Nick walked in, “Y/N, you ready? We have to go.” You nodded and walked towards the door.
“Counsellor” Nick nodded and walked off.
“Thanks again Barba, your a gem.” You smiled and walked out the door not seeing his reaction. You said bye to Carmen and walked after Nick to head over to the venue and get the camera footage.
AHIT Twin AU- Sickness and Bullying
Here is the 2nd part of the bullying arc and minor TW: someone gets hurt
Enjoy!!
@winterpower98
MJ woke up to his alarm clock ringing. He picked up the clock and turned it off before getting out of bed to clean up and get ready for school. “Wake up Luka. We have school today.” MJ groaned. Luka moaned snuggling deeper into his pillow.
Once MJ got cleaned up, got his hair tied up into a ponytail and dressed he saw Luka was still in bed. MJ groaned and shook his little brother again. “Come on Luka, we’re going to be late.” MJ shook his little brother a bit harder until he heard something come from his brother’s mouth.
Cough
MJ stepped back when he heard Luka cough. Luka got up and coughed again harder, almost gagging. MJ went over to his little brother’s head and felt how hot he was. This scared MJ, he’d been fine with Luka getting sick before, but since the Lazy Paw trio started to bully MJ it scared him to go to school without Luka. Now that the bullies were in the same class as them it was ten times worse than it was in the past.
No. MJ was not going to school alone. He quickly went to Luka’s side of the closet and picked random clothes for Luka and threw it on his bed. “Come on Luka get dressed!” MJ yelled.
Luka slowly got up and held his head as it felt heavy. MJ saw Luka’s tired bloodshot eyes, sweat rushing down his face, and pale as a ghost. As much as MJ would want Luka to stay home he is not going to school alone. MJ went over to Luka’s bed and tried to drag him out of bed to get ready, but the moment Luka stood up he collapsed on the floor before coughing and groaning.
“I know your sick Luka, but I am not going to school alone!” MJ whined.
Soon MJ heard a knock. “Michael! Luka! Are you boys up yet?” Angela asked.
“W-we are!” MJ lied. “Just getting Luka out of bed.” MJ picked up Luka and set him down on his bed as he went and tried to change his little brother.
Soon Angela came in horrified seeing MJ trying to get his sick little brother ready for school. “MJ are you crazy!” Angela shouted. “Don’t you see your little brother is sick!” MJ gulped and rubbed his arm he knew, he just couldn’t tell them why. Angela sighed and looked at Luka. “Luka, baby are you okay?”
Luka groaned and shook his head slowly. “No.” Angela sighed and hugged her son before letting him lay back down.
“Rest well Luka. I’ll take your temperature after breakfast.” Angela promised. Luka nodded and slowly fell asleep. Angela then turned to her older son and took his hand. “You young man come down for breakfast we have a long talk before school.” Angela then dragged MJ out of the room leading him to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
“Ok mom.” MJ sighed.
At the kitchen table Angela told her husband, Richard about MJ trying to drag his sick little brother to school. Richard was upset, but MJ was already guilty about it. He knew Luka was sick, but he didn’t want to tell his parents why he tried to drag Luka along.
“MJ how stupid can you be!” Angela snapped. “Luka is sick, why would you bring him to school sick?”
MJ stuttered. He wanted to tell his parents what was going on, but he couldn’t. “I-I didn’t know he was sick.” He lied.
Angela and Richard looked at each other. Angela sensed something was wrong with MJ, when she arrived in the room she saw him try to drag his sick brother out of bed. She knew that MJ knew Luka was sick, but he tried to wake him up to get to school with him somehow.
“MJ I know you're not telling me the truth.” Angela said. MJ looked up at his mother. “Please could you tell me what’s wrong?” MJ sat there quietly not wanting to tell his parents about what’s been going on with him in school.
Luckily he was saved by the school bus. MJ sighed and threw away his breakfast. “I’ll tell you after school. Bye mom and dad.” Quickly before Angela could stop him MJ was already out the door. Angela sighed putting her hand over her face.
Richard frowned and put his arm around Angela. “It's alright Angie. We’ll ask him what’s wrong after school.” Richard reassured his wife. Angela gave a small smile and gave her husband a kiss. “Come on let’s go check up on Luka.”
“Right.” Angela agreed.
At school, MJ distanced himself from everyone. He did his class work in silence despite having to hear the snickers from the Lazy Paw Trio. Since they knew MJ was alone it was the perfect time to take down the twin.
When recess started MJ was about to walk towards the tree he and Luka would stay under, but was pulled away by Blake and slammed into the wall. The trio snickered as MJ glared at his bullies. “Look gang, Mikey doesn’t have his wimpy little brother around.” Blake mocked.
MJ growled and shoved Blake away. “Leave me alone!” He snapped.
The bullies glared and Scott grabbed MJ’s arm pulling him close before pushing him on the ground. MJ slowly tried to get back up but Robin and Blake held MJ down with their feet as Scott came close, chuckling at how defenseless MJ had become.
MJ struggled to get loose, but that made the bullies hold him tighter, chuckling evilly as MJ winced in pain. Scott formed his hand into a fist and it soon collided with MJ making the young boy scream.
Back at home Luka was having some soup for lunch. Turned out he was sick with a 101 degree fever, but with some rest, liquids and something warm he should be back to his old spirited self in no time. “Thanks mom.” Luka whispered.
“Anything for you, Lulu.” Angela replied.
Luka gave a small smile, but felt like now was a good time to tell his parents what’s going on “Mom, dad could I tell you something?” He asked.
“Sure what is it?” Richard asked in reply.
Luka opened his mouth, but quickly closed it. He promised MJ he wouldn’t tell, but after what his parents told him he needed to. “If I tell you this, would you promise not to tell MJ?” He asked.
Angela and Richard wondered if Luka was going to tell them the reason about MJ’s behavior early this morning. “Honey, MJ was acting weird this morning.” Luka’s eyes widened hearing this. Guess their parents were closing in on MJ’s behavior.
“We were going to wait till you were better for you to tell us, but if you want to tell us now. Fine by me.” Richard continued.
Luka sighed. “Alright.” He took a deep breath and got himself comfortable before explaining everything to his parents. “Well since 3rd grade, MJ and sometimes myself get bullied by these three kids called the Lazy Paw Gang.” He started. “They always make MJ so miserable. They call him names, throw things at him, corner him to the wall, and I stand up for him, but sometimes I end up getting hurt too.”
Angela and Richard were shocked. They didn’t know their sons, mainly MJ was being bullied, and this was going on for two years! “Honey!” Angela gasped. “Why didn’t you tell us?” She asked.
“Because MJ told me not to tell.” Luka replied. “If we told, it will make things worse for us because you're a lawyer mom. He didn’t want to use law as his protection.” Angela was taken aback hearing from Luka why MJ didn’t want to tell her. “Despite all the times we told the teacher and principal they got worse and worse.” Luka coughed hard and as he died tears started to come out of his eyes. “And MJ is scared of going to school alone.” He revealed.
Now Angela and Richard got their answer to MJ’s behavior this morning.
“If MJ goes alone he gets hurt badly. It happened before, remember when I was sick last year?” Luka asked. Angela and Richard nodded. “When MJ came home I found out the Lazy Paw Trio pushed him to the wall and he fell and no one stood to help him, everyone laughed at him.” Luka sobbed.
Richard went over to Luka and hugged him close. Angela herself was on the brink of tears. She didn’t know what MJ was going through for the past two years and was suprised he didn’t crack between the start of the bullying till now.
As Luka cried he started to cough harder, which made Richard rub his back hoping it would calm him down. “I wanted to tell you guys, but MJ told me not too because he didn’t want to make it worse. So I kept it a promise.”
“Oh Luka.” Richard sighed. “You should have told us this was going on.” He explained.
“Yeah Luka.” Angela agreed. “If you knew this was going on we could have helped you two.”
Luka sniffled and wiped his eyes. “I just don’t want to see MJ getting hurt.” He whimpered.
“MJ would have gotten more hurt if you didn’t tell us.” Richard explained. Luka looked up at his father and saw a mix of sadness and anger in his eyes. Luka looked down; he knew bright as day MJ was going to keep getting hurt even just to protect him, but he also didn’t want to make the situation worse.
From all the crying Luka felt tired again and slowly fell asleep. Richard gave a small smile and he ushered his wife to leave the room so their son could get some rest. As they left the room, the phone rang and Angela ran to grab it.
“Hello?” Angela answered. “Yes?” Angela’s expression dropped, almost dropping the phone in the process. “I-is he okay?” She asked. Richard quickly went over to his wife hoping to calm her down. Angela sighed at what the person on the phone told her. “I-I’ll head on over there myself. Thank you. Bye.” Angela hung up the phone ready to cry.
“A-Angela? What happened?” Richard asked.
“MJ got beaten up.” Angela cried. Richard covered his mouth in shock. Their worst fears coming true as a result of MJ and Luka not telling them about what’s going on. Angela tried to calm down, wiping the tears from her eyes but they kept falling.
“Is he?” Richard asked.
“H-he’s fine. He is in the nurse’s office and someone needs to pick him up.”
Richard nodded. “I’ll do it.” Angela nodded back as Richard went to grab his coat and hat before leaving the house to pick up his son. Once he left Angela cried that her little boy was hurt.
Richard made it to the school and quickly went into the nurse’s office. “I-Is he okay?” Richard asked.
The nurse looked up at Richard. “A-are you the father of Michael Prince?” The nurse asked.
“Y-yes.” Richard replied, but the nurse didn’t answer his question. “Is MJ alright?” He asked.
The nurse nodded and moved away, and what Richard saw left him in tears. MJ had a black eye, and had a towel over his nose getting a nose bleed from the bullies, he also had bruises on his arms thanks to Robin and Blake pushing their feet onto MJ’s arms.
“He doesn’t have a concussion, but he does need to go home for the day.” The nurse told him.
“Okay.” Richard replied. He found MJ’s stuff on a chair and picked it up. The nurse held MJ up and the older twin followed his father to the car. The car ride home was quiet, Richard wanted to start a conversation with MJ, but MJ turned away from him just facing the car window.
Once they made it home Richard didn’t get out of the car. “MJ. Luka told us what was going on.” Richard revealed.
MJ turned to his father and glared. “I told Luka not too.” He growled. “Why did he-” Richard cut off his son.
“Michael! I know you wanted to keep your secret, but look at you!” Richard yelled. MJ jumped back from his father’s outburst. He didn’t want to hear much of it and got out of the car, grabbed his stuff and went inside the house.
When MJ came in he heard more yelling coming from his mother. “Just three days suspension!” Angela shouted. “My baby got hurt! And only three days! Not a month or expulsion?” Angela saw MJ walk in the kitchen not looking up at her mother. Angela covered her mouth seeing her son’s injuries in person. Angela sighed. “Alright. Fine. Fine!” She snapped before hanging up the phone. She took a breather and sat down on the chair hoping to relax.
Richard finally came in and saw his wife distraught. “See.” MJ started causing his parents to look at him. “This is why I told Luka not to tell.” MJ turned from his parents and wanted to be alone in his room, but Richard stopped him.
“Now MJ.” Richard spoke up. “I know you wanted to keep this a secret, but you're hurt and we were worried about you this morning.”
Now it was Angela’s turn to comfort MJ. “Michael. We care and love you and Luka told us because he cares a lot about you.” She reassured her son. “If Luka was hurt or worse would you keep it a secret because Luka told you too, or tell someone?”
This question opened MJ’s eyes. MJ turned to his family and glared. “That will never happen! Because I’ll be able to know what’s going on with Luka and protect him before anything happens to him!” He shouted.
“And that’s what Luka is doing for you!” Richard shouted. “He told us because he was looking out for you!”
“One day, Luka will need you and it's your choice to tell us or handle it on your own keeping it a secret.” Angela added. MJ frowned and looked down tears coming down his face. Angela and Richard went over to MJ and hugged him.
MJ couldn’t hold it in and sobbed into his parents arms. “I hate school! I hated them! I hate how they hurt me! I wish I could use my magic and everything will be better!” MJ sobbed letting out all the anger and sadness he held in all these years.
Angela hushed her son and rubbed his back to comfort him. “It's alright. Let it out. Let it out.” She soothed. MJ’s loud cries turned into sobs as his family gave him the comfort and love he needed.
