The whole article is a hate piece on not only sanderson but also SFF fan culture. Jason kehe tries to paint the people in a bad light as much as possible: smelly, man-child, cultish, omg they have sword replicas and the swords have names??? Oh and why is there no sex in sandersons books, apparently that is a big sin. I would like to ask why are you so obsessed with having sex in every book sir? Why is it a must?
Why did they write this bs article? Many people are butt hurt in the industry for sandersons kickstarter being immensely successful and making him a lot of money. And that's the connection to this, me thinks. Publishing couldn't pocket all that money like they usually do.

Ranking Various Cosmere Fantasy Swears
If there's one thing Brandon Sanderson likes, it's avoiding any real swear words in favor of Fantasy Swears. I am genuinely a huge fan of this technique. So here how I'd rank some of the ones I can remember! (And thanks to 17th Shard [here and here] and to Reddit for compiling some lists!).
#14: Colors (Warbreaker)
This one feels a little bit...lazy, I guess? Like yes, Warbreaker's magic is color-dependent, so colors are a big part of the world-building, so I guess it makes sense that people use it as a swear. But it feels like if, in fantasy USA, people swore by "eagles" all the time: "Eagles! I dropped my hamburger!"
#13: Moons (Tress of the Emerald Sea)
I mean same problem as with "colors"! Yes, the moons are a big aspect of the worldbuilding, but it just feels like a semi-boring swear. Although maybe that's just the swear that Tress tends to use.
#12: Shadows/Shades (Shadows for Silence/Sunlit Man)
Okay, maybe this one is a bit boring, but anything Threndy-related gets extra credit from me. So therefore I think this is one of the least boring of the "basically boring descriptors of world building elements" swears.
#11: By the Lord Ruler (Mistborn)
I mean...eh. This one is world specific, but it's basically like swearing by god only in this case the god is the Lord Ruler, right? It makes sense 'n' all but isn't as interesting as some of the later ones.
#10: By the Survivor's Scars (Mistborn)
This one is better because it's more specific--Kelsier's scars are rich with meaning, and swearing by them does feel like it carries cultural weight.
#9: By Harmony's Armbands (Mistborn)
Putting them all in a line like this...I just like how they get ever more specific. Now we're swearing by Harmony's feruchemical armlets? Okay!
#8: God Beyond (Shadows for Silence)
I mean, Threnody is, like, haunted by a god's corpse, so I think any of their god-related swears are more interesting as a result.
#7: Nights / Nights afire (Emperor's Soul)
I like this one because I just don't know what it refers to and it seems kinda creepy. What are nights on fire for??
#6: Rust and Ruin (Mistborn)
Frankly, the alliteration gets this one extra points. And "Rust and Ruin!" just feels like a good thing to shout when you've stubbed your toe.
#5: Storms/storming/Stormfather (Stormlight Archive)
I know this one SHOULD lose points for being exactly the sort of boring descriptive swear I maligned above...but I enjoy this one simply because it's such a clear linguistic stand-in for "fuck" and that leads to such amusing translations as "Kaladin Fuckblessed" or the "Fuckfather" and that just never stops being funny to me.
#4: Herald body parts (Stormlight Archive)
I didn't notice until looking at various compiled lists of Cosmere Fantasy Swears, but Rosharans really like to swear by specific Herald body parts, huh? From here: Kelek's breadth, Kelek's tongue, Ash's eyes, Ishar's soul, Nalan's hand, Pali's mind, Talat's hand...I'm a fan of this. It's interesting and feels culturally relevant.
#3: Glories Within (Stormlight Archive)
This one is just Szeth so far, but people speculate it's probably a Shin curse. That makes it interesting to me since we don't know a whole lot about the Shin. What inner glory are they using to swear?
#2: Starving (Stormlight Archive)
This one is pretty similar to "Storming," I suppose, in being a pretty clear linguistic stand-in for "fucking." But I just like that the food-obsessed Lift has her own personal swear relating to starvation.
#1: Lowly/Highly (Yumi and the Nightmare Painter)
I'm a big fan of the lowly/highly thing from Yumi & the Nightmare Painter, where words can be linguistically marked as meant in either a high way (complimentary) or a low way (insultingly). It's fun worldbuilding and leads to some comic beats in the novel. Plus, this post tickled me greatly: https://www.tumblr.com/cabinetcreature/722030379790401536?source=share. It's so true!

DREAMS ARE MY REALITY.
what would happen if your favourite fictional character appeared in your bed..?
Part 2
A/N: finally came back! Exams period is almost done, so I can mainly focus on writing fan fics and replying to your comments. Thanks to everyone who never stopped giving me support during these months.~ For this story I was heavily inspired by the "Reality" song by Richard Sanderson. Last night I watched "La Boum" and something clicked in my mind the moment the movie titles came by. I highly recommend that movie (and its main song!).
Tumblr media
Fantastic. Another day gone bad. Not only I lost my notes taken at university with great effort (who knows where they flew thanks to the wind...), but it had rained until the end of the afternoon and a careless car passed by at great speed, soiling me with rain and migo mixed together.
«Ugh! You fucker!» My feet stomped hard on the dirt, realizing that what had just happened was just the beginning of a long evening. I'll just open the front door, walk into the kitchen, and throw my comfort on the sofa that I look forward to.
It seemed like an eternity would pass on the way back, and my body barely even managed to walk, almost like a dead weight. Don't walk on the ground. That would have been the last straw.
«Shit,» I thought aloud, the moment my eyes saw my house from afar, «Finally home». Taking the keys out of the backpack was also, a real pain in the ass: a real tangle of wires and metal had formed there since my headphones had not been folded properly. A sigh escaped from my lips the moment I walked through the front door, searching with difficulty for the light switch. I didn't waste any more time removing the ruined clothes (and placing them in a water bath) and letting a hot shower melt my nerves. It was just what I needed.
I knew I had a smile as I lathered my body thoroughly. Now the scent of lavender was something calming.
``I should make some tea too``.
~
«Oh, now that's what I am talking about! ». My smile didn't leave my face, as I excitedly opened the book I had left hanging a few days ago, due to my exam period. Being under stress didn't help me find the concertation and desire to identify myself with the main character of the book. ``That's enough``. This thought flooded my mind. ``Now you can rest, because you deserve it, so enjoy your reading``.
``Thanks, other me, maybe you're right`` I replied to the little inner voice that I assumed had a satisfied grin on her face.
Yet my eyes fell on the mega poster that took up most of my bedroom wall: Miguel O'Hara. This man was going to be the death of me one of these days. I remembered the day when my heart wanted him only for me: in the new Spiderman, starring Miles Morales, many would have said that he was the perfect villain, even if I kept countering, claiming the opposite. Of course, his anger issues didn't help get people on his side. He was perfect in every aspect: tall, muscular, intelligent, thoughtful. My god, where do I have to sign to have him next to me?
«Too good to be true». I sighed aloud again as I pulled my attention away from the poster and back into my book. I think it wasn't long after I started reading and my eyes started to get heavy. I might have let go of the book, and fallen asleep with it on my chest. It had been a bad day in every way. Perhaps that is the reason I imagined hugging Miguel more than once. Maybe that's why I also felt my mattress getting heavier under my back.
~
I was awakened by the sun's rays penetrating through the curtains of my room. I loudly grunted at the thought of getting up early to do my daily cleaning chores around the house. But what harm would it have been to stay in my warm bed for at least an hour longer? Turning over, I had the feeling that my bed had gotten much heavier. Or was I still dreaming of hugging Miguel?
Slowly my eyes opened and focused on an unfamiliar figure lying next to me. I had a moment of confusion. Why...was there a person in my bed?
Only when I fully focused on who was in front of me I almost fainted on the spot.
"AAAAHH!" I grabbed the first pillow nearby, slapping the stranger hard several times, and leapt out of bed, the pillow still in my hands. The man, taken aback, tripped on the ground, and a great thud resounded in the bedroom. I hugged the pillow tightly to my chest. Oh, holy god. What was happening at that moment? I was so confused I could have sworn my face was as just as confused.
The man grunted aloud and scrambled to his feet, throwing his hands in surrender.
«What the fuck did I do?!» he yelled, in sheer confusion too. Maybe at that moment, I could have passed out, I swear to whoever you want! Because whoever I had in front of me was a real dream.
«Holy shit...»
«What?!»
I swallowed hard. «You are Miguel O'Hara. Miguel O'Hara was in my room, in my bed!»

Cosmere/Magic the Gathering
'What IP do you most want to see in Magic the Gathering?' Thunderwoodd: Stormlight Archive!
thyfoolish1: Brandon said they reached out to him and he was excited and ready to go but they haven't gotten back to him. I think this was Dragonsteel last year. So there is hope.
Egi_: Even after the shitshow with the free book he gave them on the condition it wouldn't be commercialized and then WotC commercialized it?
Brandon Sanderson: I knew what I was getting into working with a big corporation. Like the proverbial frog giving a ride to a scorpion, I don't see justification for complaint regarding the eventual sting. I love the game, and the designers, so that's really my metric. As a note, everyone I worked with on the narrative team was wonderful.
I don't want a passing secret lair of five cards; I am interested in a full-blown set, so with that constraint, I wouldn't foresee a Stormlight or Mistborn crossover until one of several things happens:
1) They burn through the bigger properties that match MTG's vibe like LOTR did. Fantasy, or science fantasy, properties that feel legit as a big expansions. As mentioned in this thread alone, there is a pretty deep mine there. Dune, Witcher, Elder Scrolls, Arcane/LoL, Westeros (if they're feeling spicy.) A hobbit set is all but inevitable as well.
Considering they'd be unwise to put these sorts of things out too quickly, and should really give them time to breathe, we're looking at ten years easily before they're out of larger fish to fry. Stormlight is big for a book series, but without any shows/films/games, I'd suspect it doesn't have the casual word-of-mouth reach their marketing team looks for to justify the extra expense of licensing fees.
2) Said bigger properties decide they aren't interested, leaving things popular but without media representation. If they ever decided to experiment with a book-only series, I suspect I'd be very high on the list to approach.
3) Cosmere gets one of said media properties, something I'm actively trying to accomplish--but it is slow going, as I'm in the fortunate position of being able to be very picky about partners, and prefer to take my time.
I've made it clear to them that if a large-scale set were in the, ahem, cards, I'd be willing to make frequent trips to Seattle to be part of the design team on said set.
awakenedjunkofigure: If any author deserves the pick of the litter for production companies, it's absolutely you. Can't wait to see what your books would look like on-screen!!
Brandon Sanderson: Well, the answer to what they'd look like on screen is "Expensive," which a part of the problem...
schloopers: Any large consideration in your mind for spoilers versus fully representing a world or story?
Stormlight you’d of course want all 10 Orders, so spoilers are far as those are concerned are a given.
But maybe a legendary creature “Iron Eyes” instead of any spoiler specific proper names?
I ask because I have so far gotten one friend in the playgroup to start reading, and a couple full sets would for sure help in garnering interest, but I would worry for the story beats getting too greatly revealed out of context.
I don’t know, maybe it’s just unavoidable. I’ve had several Dr. Who episodes “spoiled” for me through that set.
Brandon Sanderson:  This is something I haven't given a lot of thought toward, but I perhaps should be mulling it over. You make a good point.
Thunderwoodd: Woah! Can’t believe you responded. Huge fan! And I loved your commander cube! Saw it on Game Knights right after I finished Rhythm of War.
Curious, do you think the Radiant orders could correspond to guilds or color wedges?
Brandon Sanderson: Yes, I've done thought experiments on that, and think guilds could actively work for them without too much trouble. Problem is, would we want a Stormlight set or just a Knights Radiant set, because ten guilds for ten orders is already a high demand. It might be better to make a wedge set, but the problem there is that the Radiants are actively all colors, so it would be hard to cut out any save black. (Willshaper individuality and artistic expression could be green red instead of red black, for example.) So maybe five four-color wedges? I think the lore could support this, and be something that MTG has had trouble conveying without the expansive worldbuilding an entire book series could provide.
Radiants and sapient spren (all but black, to indicate the inherent selfless Radiant cause)
Human Nations (all but green, to indicate triumph over nature, which is an antagonist on Roshar.)
Singers (All but blue, to indicate the lack of ability to plan for the future, dearth of scholars, and onset of madness in the fused.)
Non-sapient Spren and wildlife (All but white, to indicate lack of overriding societal structures.)
Secret Societies (All but red, indicting the deliberate and conscious planning of these groups.)
Four color signpost uncommons would be WILD, even with hybrid mana. So I can see the design team balking. This (four color guild set) is almost certainly something they've explored and specifically decided not to do.
mediocreattbest: It’s crazy coming onto this post to say “any cosmere set!” And then see you actually replying. Out of curiosity, would you prefer just a stormlight set or a cosmere-wide set? I’d love to see characters through their stories (like we had with the LotR set)
Brandon Sanderson: I'd prefer Stormlight or Mistborn alone, as the planets themselves are so much a part of the stories.

Ummm, Hello, today if there are drawings, well two are incomplete but...
There is a drawing 😺
What have I done these days that I haven't posted anything? Aside from suffering from my flu, I made a Lance sygna suit with Giratina origin (again... It's already the third time...)
The first time was fucking Carmilla Carmine from Habzin Hotel (I won't show it)
The second time he was a samurai (It must be posted)
And now it's the fucking phantom of the opera
Tumblr media
Why the Phantom of the Opera? It's a funny story.
Not to make the long story short, I was talking to my friend (we're going to call her Meloetta) and she said, “Do you already have an idea for Halloween for your Tumblr account? “and I said to him" Well, I have a drawing of Lance planned for Halloween "and Meloetta tells me (there are no words in English to describe the wonderful support she gave me) and said: " No vas a ser como una de las básicotas fans de Lance que lo van a hacer vampiro, lo vas a hacer como el fantasma de la ópera y te va a gustar"
...
I didn't refuse
Tumblr media
I am proud of this design to be honest, and I promise to do a more elaborate and larger drawing for Halloween, but I don't promise to have it finished by October 31
I'm a student and I'm organizing my ideas for Lance week, Because I AM A STUDENT
So draw for October 31, there may not be any, for the first days of November it's most likely, But this year if there is a drawing
Drawing of Lance's Sygna suit with Giratina and drawing of Lance, Cynthia and Steven as the Sanderson sisters ( The Witch Sisters from Hocus Pocus)
Tumblr media
I swear it'll look better, okay?
Before I forgot, Giratina
Tumblr media
If by chance of fate I don't upload any Halloween drawings, let these little doodles be left as Halloween drawings
So would it be an early Halloween?
Happy Halloween in advance
Tumblr media
(it has nothing to do with it but I recommend a song that every time I listen to it I think: “Lance would identify too much with this song” is called Forget — MARINA, it's very good, and I swear to you, if you listen to them and are fans of Lance, our favorite dragon master with cape will come to mind)

hi! i stumbled across one of your tags on a post back in august mentioning that reading Tress and Yumi was your introduction to brandon sandersons works.
since reading them both, i felt that they'd be incredible standalone works to introduce someone to the Cosmere superseries but i've so far refrained from recommending them to anyone "green" due to how referential they are to his earlier writing, as i feared this would make the fun less accessible.
would i be able to get your perspective on what going into Tress/Yumi first was like? how did you find the narration and the way it glosses over the existence of other worlds and magic? were you introduced to the books by someone/people who could answer any questions, or was the info in the text itself enough?
looking forward to hearing your thoughts!!
Okay, so the background info is that my roommates are big Sando fans and have read most of his books and so they know lots about the Cosmere. Through hearing their conversations, I may have been able to recognize some references to other Cosmere things in Tress and Yumi more than someone with zero knowledge of his other works. Didn't mean I got the references, just recognized them. I really don't think either book relies on the reader to have a working knowledge of the Cosmere to enjoy them, I'd say they're great gateway books for someone wanting to get into his various works. It was easier for me to commit to than a big series.
I have since started a 3rd Brando Sando book, Warbreaker, which is a favourite of one of my roommates, and I am enjoying the different narrative style (not Hoid). But honestly, Hoid as a narrator is also just so, so great. Everyone should know that joy. I don't even really know who or what he is, he's just really cool.
I hope that made sense. TL;DR - You don't need knowledge about the cosmere to enjoy Tress or Yumi, they are both amazing books, Hoid is great, and Warbreaker is also pretty great so far.

Look the real reason so many book fans are mad about the wheel of time adaptation instead of having a great time with it regardless of changes, is that the production is putting a very strong focus on updating the worldbuilding and characters in specific ways, as well as changing individual events in favor of a more streamlined way to make The Same character beats happen.
Because this is an adaptation to film, and of course they have to change stuff. Come on people. Be realistic. You know how long the series is.
And there are parts of the book series that Do need updating. RJ was trying to be as progressive as he could in a lot of his approach to the series, but what was progressive in the 90s is not as progressive now so of course they are updating it. If you didn’t think this show was gonna have queer people and polyamory then sorry about it. Dear Mr. Jordan was Really Good at writing romantic relationships between women when he thought he was just writing friendships, he did it A Couple times. I would Bet Money on Avilayne becoming canon. This series is being created by a queer showrunner he is absolutely doing a queer reading of these books. Which I am Very Here For.
And he is doing a reading, and changing things. Which again, is Necessary. The book series is Super long and they have 8 seasons to do it in. They’re gonna change individual events to make sure that the main characters go through all the necessary character beats. And you’re just being recalcitrant if you can’t admit that season two Rules in a lot of ways. They are still making sure every important character has all their moments. And each individual episode has focused on some of the most powerful themes of the Entire book series. Including the inherent tragedies inherent to channelers such as: being cut off from the one power in various ways through shielding and stilling, having their own control of the one power taken over by others through weaves and ter’angreal, and living extended lifespans and thus leaving behind their loved ones. They’re doing a Very good job of keeping to the core themes and character beats and also changing stuff around to make the story work on a shorter time frame.
Also they’re working really hard to make sure Every character is as well fleshed out as possible. Meaning that yes, a lot of focus is being spent so far on the other main pov characters and all of the important aes sedai who will matter in the conflicts to come. That’s a good thing. Sorry to the people who only cared about the ta’veren boys or whatever but RJ wrote a ton of interesting and powerful women and they’re all getting their Due in this adaptation that is a feature not a bug.
It’s not like there isn’t stuff to be improved in the original! There is a huge chunk of the wheel of time that a lot of fans refer to as the slog! Where most of the main characters are separated and the plot is barely moving so some characters only show up in like two chapters of a single book, because there are so many individual things happening, before the plot starts moving faster again towards the end of the series. (And then there’s the crimes committed by Mr. Sanderson on the last three books but we’re not going to talk about that right now.
Which personally I would disagree that the slog is where the series is least enjoyable. The section I usually skip when rereading is the first two books, #having a great time right now actually with the show skipping through as much of the minutiae of books I and II as they can. The wheel of time is not a perfect series and Robert Jordan kept trying to finish it in one to three books at first and the first two books suffer as a result.
If you stopped reading in books one or two PLEASE just try to make it to three Trust Me. Or just watch the show and then read the battle of falme in book II and then read book III. You will appreciate books one and two more on a reread after all the stuff he does bring up there has really paid off. And also just have fun watching your faves be more happy than they are in later books ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The show is not Trying to be the books and frankly I’m glad it’s not! This is another turning of the wheel, another version of events, a parallel universe to the randland of the books. And I think they’re doing a pretty brilliant job of telling a version of that story so far this season.
Adaptations will change things. That’s a good thing. Judge it on executing the ideas it is bringing up and staying true to the core of the character arcs and themes of the original. And frankly it’s enhancing a lot of character arcs right now. There are many things that I think the show is already doing better than the books did tbh (Min, Liandrin, Selene, making Perrin spend less time dithering about the Wolf Stuff, speeding up Mat’s healing from the dagger so my best boy gets more time to shine)
Adaptations are transformative works. To lesser and greater degrees they reinterpret a work through a different artistic lens and medium. The changes are not bad because they are changes. Judge it on the execution of the story it’s actually telling instead of a close comparison to the books. And they are keeping as true to the books as they can whether you acknowledge that or not.
If you’re a person who reads fanfiction but you can’t judge a film adaptation for what it is instead of what it’s not then please try Slightly harder.
And if you’re just mad that it’s all queer and polyamorous now and the boys aren’t the only main characters then die mad I guess. I will continue having a pretty great time watching this show chock full of extremely powerful (and sometimes evil) women. I think RJ would have liked it tbh.

Some very short cod headcanons cuz why not
Starting of w
Ghost Simon Riley:
Rides a Scrambler Ducati.
Fucker wears glasses.
I’m talkin he can’t see bs when reading
Snores like a fuckin chainsaw
Just gonna say rq idfc if ppl get offended but:
He’s in his early/mid thirties abt 33 sumn like that
John “Soap” Mactavish
Flexes his engine on his mt07 when others are around cause “Its too bloody damn loud”
Brought a whole ass mini owen to base bc there isn’t a fuckin kitchen to be used properly on the base
2am ramen is a must
Kind of like Simon he also wears glasses except for he doesn’t have that much of a shitty eyesight when it comes to reading.
For someone who’s only thirty people think that he’s older. And gets extremely offended if someone says that he looks old
Gaz Kyle Garrick:
Unlike anyone from this list he actually is fairly scared of bikes and isn’t scared to admit it.
Steals Simons tea bags sometimes.
Just like Johnny he’s thirty but the only difference is that everyone is always surprised bc to them Kyle looks like he’s no more then 27/28yo
Is the one who calls Johnny old
He has a Switch and plays Animal Crossing religiously
Roach Gary Sanderson:
Ghost calls him “old man”
Gets offended by it cause he’s only 2 year older then Ghost.
Rides a Triumph Daytona 675 and flexes even more on the others. Meanwhile Gaz is covering his ears and praying he would stop (he does quickly but likes to do it for shits and giggles), Soap is being a lil jealous and Ghost is crossing his hands and signing while Price is just takin a hit out of his cigar.
He’s very friendly toward the newbies and will pull jokes here and there that are actually funny.
Has a tendency to steal Prices bucket hats and not return them until he sees Price being bat shit pissed.
John Price:
When he was a teen Nikolai introduced him to the world of motorcycles. But shortly after he got into a reallyyyyh bad accident so he stopped riding sport bikes so he chose to ride a Harley cruiser…(bad choice if ya ask me)
If anyone dares to prank him, he will bring the whole team into his office and will smoke at least two cigars and make the whole team suffocate
Has a “#best dad” mug. Swear he doesn’t use it but the coffee stains from the inside say otherwise
No matter how much Gaz says he’s Prices favorite. It’s unlikely cause his favorite is our Middle Eastern Queen Farah 💗
As you could’ve realized I am a huge motorcycle fan and I am a biker myself so yeah I also had to incorporate some of my biker knowledge into this. Also I rarely see people write abt Roach 😭😭😭 why’s that. I need me some more Roach hcs or x reader ffcs

The Scarecrow and Bride
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! HROO HRAA!
ScarecrowWeek2024 Day 7 "Halloween with the Sanderson's Sisters"/"Free day"
Thanks Moffy @jonathan-cranes-mistress-of-fear for the scarecrowweek! Maybe next year I can fully get into some days hahaha
I had to redo this post due to accidental posting when i was editing it and Tumblr post it....thanks Tumblr..
Thank you so much for your likes and reblogs, I did have my hesitations about posting this as we're tended to be our worst critics. I am super thankful for the amazing support and encouragement from my amazing friends from the various fandoms. Although I most likely won't be able to do much for the ScarecrowWeeek2024 or Halloween, I wanted to end the month with by far one of my favorite Halloween drawings hahaha
CW and Disclaimer: To clarify, the dress is a reference to Crimson Peak (although I am not a huge fan), so the brownish red is not blood but red dirt/ clay. Below there is the masked version, and a scythe. The mask looks intentionally scary, so I wanted to put a warning for it! Please enjoy!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can tell, I couldn't help myself but sneak some Sleepy Hollow esque- themes for the drawing with Jon's unmasked scarecrow outfit while he carries his wife Elizabeth (My OC). The background are meant to be corvids, so let's pretend Craw and Nightmare are just flying behind them, as I sadly couldn't sneak them in
I do like to think, they're celebrating their anniversary, and he swept her off her chair into a wonderful walk among the corn fields while quoting Poetry to her along spooky stories (Def Poe's poetry and Sleepy Hollow)
Anyway, here's the mask version, which I quite love! I was super hesitant as I didn't think my scarecrow concept looked very scarecrow-y, but the most important thing was to have fun, and I love y'all like it :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
His mask is like a mix of a plague doctor Zombie, so I hope it fits hahaha
Anyway happy Halloween, and thank you Moffy for providing me with such opportunity with this last day

i very much enjoyed the eventual explanation for Vin's Whole Deal but i also spent a good chunk of book one and two, (and maybe also more than a few idle moments in book three) waiting for a reveal that she was also a feruchemist. Just. There were so many parallels between her and the lord ruler, you know??
just thinking about the au...
a nice alternate explanation to her unnatural-even-for-a-mistborn grace, strength and power, just a bit better than she should be, and has such wild swings of fortune during a few of her fights because she's unconsciously storing up than releasing corresponding powers in her internal flakes.
of course it's taking her so long to realize - no one wears actual amounts of metal, so she's constantly burning her stores before they get large enough to be noticeable.
she was able to sense sazed's feruchemical store when she burnt it why would that be an allomantic ability i'm still kindof mad we didn't see her even TRY feruchemy anyway au
sazed teaching her...bonding moments...family...
funny moments where sazed and kelsier get weirdly competitive over who's got dibs on the daughter-he-never-thought-he'd-have
I am a SUCKER for zero-dads to multiple dad's trope...
(and thinking about how there HAD to be some feruchemy in the ska population, since the terris people weren't always so separate from the general population)
in addition to noblewoman, thief, mistborn, ska urchin - here's ANOTHER burden, ANOTHER heritage, ANOTHER identity - some pressure to be a Keeper, at least store the books, even if you do nothing else -
imagining reen as a feruchemist, constantly running from town to town because for some reason him, totally ska him, he can do things, things like a misting, but even more obvious, and allomantic vials just make him sick
unconscious feruchemy leading to mental instability (her mother). What happens when you store memories or mental attributes , but never get them back? you're just losing time and strength and willpower to the metal in your groundwater...and it's gone, passed through your body unless you happen to be an allomancer who can burn it back...
duralium-esque shenanigans during book two trying out the lord ruler's youth combo and accidentally making herself into a child. it's resolved eventually but there should have been AT LEAST a few chapters of 11 year old Vin mowing down assassins
HULK PEWTER VIN! HULK PEWTER VIN! FINALLY SHE ACTUALLY LOOKS AS DANGEROUS AS SHE IS! FIVE FOOT NOTHING HULK PEWTER VIN FIGHTING HAMM!!!!
infinite free health combo (somehow? i don't quite understand the mechanic, perhaps it's revealed somewhere else in sanderson books. is it just storing up health? seems like getting flayed would fuck that up. look, we know the lord ruler figured it out, since it's part of his whole Canon that he can't die, a Lot of people have tried)
ANYWAY I am also a fan of "unkillable" character trope where person starts getting too reckless during fights while enemies panic and their loved one's look on in horror because they're still getting hurt
All of the above does NOT help with the whole worshiping thing
staying awake for WAY too long with bronze earring...come on sanderson i know my girl was double deity op but consider if she was even MORE
FERUCHEMY IS OF BOTH PRESERVATION AND RUIN COME ON Y'ALL THINK ABOUT IT
...if it turns out there's an annotation in one of these books that she was actually a feruchemist but it never came up i don't know if i'd be more angry or more vindicated...if there is...okay people can spoil this one (1) thing...
aaah alas - it could have been so sick - feruchemist mistborn fight scene my beloved who shall never be...unless...

Five Reasons I like Sanderson's Prudishness (And One Reason I Don't)
Brandon Sanderson is a self-proclaimed prude (from the WOB where someone asked if there could be a triad with Shallan/Adolin/Kaladin, and Sanderson said that while Shallan & Adolin might go for it, Kaladin was likely too much of a prude, like him). And honestly, I am a pretty big fan of most manifestations of this "prudishness" in the Cosmere novels. And here's why!
[TW: Discussion of off-screen rape in Cosmere novels & rape as a theme in grimdark fantasy generally]
1. I like the lack of sex scenes
I think probably the biggest manifestation of Sanderson Prudishness is that characters just don't have sex on the page. There's a sort of sex scene in Warbeaker and I think Shallan & Adolin cuddle in bed once, but there's definitely nothing graphic. Barely anything tame. And while your mileage may vary, that happens to be my personal preference--I'm a prudish reader, so I'm solidly "meh" on in-novel sex scenes. This, for the record, is not a moral stance but just a personal reading preference. In this, I seem to line up with Sanderson's own preferences, so good for me I guess!
2. I like the fantasy swears
Sanderson also can't let his characters say "fuck." Instead, he uses a variety of made-up fantasy swears which I discussed in another post just the other day. Swearing actually does not bother me, either in real life or on the page--if Kaladin was swearing profusely the whole time using real swears instead of "storming this" and "storming that," I'd be like, "Yeah, that's fair, dude." But I actually like the fun and whimsical nature of made-up fantasy swears, so I'm a fan of this as well.
3. "Prudish" does not preclude gay people
One danger of "prudishness" is that it is sometimes a cover for homophobia--some people will claim that gay people are inherently sexual and that therefore a "clean" text must avoid gay people "for the children" or whatever. Bullshit, etc. So I like that Prudish Sanderson does not do that. Gay people do exist in the Cosmere and they do have (presumably sexual) relationships--they're just entirely marriage-focused and have never even HEARD of casual sex, just like all of the non-gay people. People of all sexualities are equally and strangely prudish, like Sanderson himself, and I think that's beautiful.
4. There is not much rape & it's all off-screen
On a more serious note, I don't like reading rape scenes, and plenty of fantasy novels have them--and a lot of them. Sanderson's novels do contain rape: there are a lot of references to skaa women being raped in Mistborn Era 1, and there's a quick reference to Sadeas, like, gathering up captured women in a Stormlight flashback. But there are no graphic rape scenes and on the whole, Sanderson avoids including any sexual assault, even by allusion. And frankly, I like that. It gives me less anxiety while I read--like, when Shallan joins up with the all-male company of slave traders, I had absolutely no fear that the book was building up to her assault. During Dalinar flashbacks where he was a warlord and killing machine, I was not concerned that rape would be used to make him seem more vile. And that is definitely my preference.
5. I just don't like grimdark fantasy, I guess, but I do like adult fantasy
Again, this is a personal and not a moral stance, but I just don't like grimdark fantasy. And I feel like so much adult fantasy is that--but while I like YA fantasy too, I do still want to read adult fantasy novels. So Sanderson is kind of perfect for what I'm looking for, being an adult-level, perfectly complex and interesting book series that strays away from all the stuff that populates grimdark books. ...Well, aside from that one time when a whole city got burned alive, I guess.
6. But there is one thing I don't like...
And that's the scene when all of the bridgemen are out after the highstorm when it's just raining and they're tossing around a bar of soap to shower together and they don't take off their underwear. When do they clean down there if not then?? Can they really not get naked together??? It's so unhygienic!
Sometimes prudishness can go too far. 😔

Brandon Sanderson’s comments on the finale without watching Wheel of Time season 2– Yikes.
I had a feeling he wouldn’t like it, he’s been critical on the show, some were reasonable but he made some comments before that I didn’t agree with.
But coming in to criticize a season finale built on the back of what season 2 built.
Oof. And the thing is, he’s a book writer for the last parts of the series so what he says does have weight and some fans will run with what he said. And I am not looking forward to that fandom.

The Sanderson/Cosmere subreddit spoiler policies are absolutely ridiculous and discussion stifling, a mini rant
Exhibit the first: on r/brandonsanderson a poster put up a picture of a Bridge 4 onesie, and it got spoiler tagged by a mod. The reasoning? The Bridge 4 logo with Kholin blue is a WoR spoiler. I'm of the opinion that that is one of those things that is a spoiler only if you already know, and is imo overly cautious
Exhibit the second: any kinds of spoilers are banned from post titles, resulting in a sub full of titles like this:
Tumblr media
Idk about you guys, but as someone who has read all of these books, I would have no way of knowing what any these are about without looking at them individually. How is this good for facilitating discussion?
Exhibit the third, the actual spoiler policy:
Tumblr media
Exhibit the fourth, just this attitude:
Tumblr media
It's a shame it's so arduous to talk about the cosmere in r/cosmere
I am actually a big fan of spoiler tagging stuff, and I have in fact yelled at people in this fandom before for not spoiler tagging, but this is too much. This is clearly catering to new readers, and idk about you guys, but I think that there's a lot of responsibility re: avoiding spoilers, that has to be put on the person who doesn't want to be spoiled. There's some common courtesy stuff like tagging any pre-release content, or brand new books for a reasonable amount of time, but for the most part, avoiding spoilers should be on the person who doesn't want to see them. If I were currently reading or planning on reading a series I sure as f wouldn't be wandering into the subreddit dedicated to that series. I get tagging stuff for the secret projects right now, but everything? Some of these books are approaching 20 years since publication. If someone has waited this long to read the book, then they can wait a bit longer to participate in the fandom. 🤷‍♀️
There are always going to be new readers, but it should really be their responsibility to avoid spoilers if it matters to them. Or at least do the bare minimum. Honestly I think that the mods over there should just throw a general spoiler warning up top in a pinned post and let people live

I wasn’t going to say anything about it because, frankly, I regularly read much better criticism of Brandon Sanderson on tumblr.
However, Brandon responded to that Wired article, so I’ll share his response with you all.
Brandon Sanderson:
All,
I appreciate the kind words and support.
Not sure how, or if, I should respond to the Wired article. I get that Jason, in writing it, felt incredibly conflicted about the fact that he finds me lame and boring. I’m baffled how he seemed to find every single person on his trip--my friends, my family, my fans--to be worthy of derision.
But he also feels sincere in his attempt to try to understand. While he legitimately seems to dislike me and my writing, I don't think that's why he came to see me. He wasn't looking for a hit piece--he was looking to explore the world through his writing. In that, he and I are the same, and I respect him for it, even if much of his tone seems quite dismissive of many people and ideas I care deeply about.
The strangest part for me is how Jason says he had trouble finding the real me. He says he wants something true or genuine. But he had the genuine me all that time. He really did. What I said, apparently, wasn't anything he found useful for writing an article. That doesn't make it not genuine or true.
I am not offended that the true me bores him. Honestly, I'm a guy who enjoys his job, loves his family, and is a little obsessive about his stories. There's no hidden trauma. No skeletons in my closet. Just a guy trying to understand the world through story. That IS kind of boring, from an outsider's perspective. I can see how it is difficult to write an article about me for that reason.
But at the same time, I’m worried about the way he treats our entire community. I understand that he didn’t just talk about me, but about you. As has been happening to fantasy fans for years, the general attitude of anyone writing about us is that we should be ashamed for enjoying what we enjoy. In that, the tone feels like it was written during the 80s. “Look at these silly nerds, liking things! How dare they like things! Don’t they know the thing they like is dumb?”
As a community, let’s take a deep breath. It’s all right. I appreciate you standing up for me, but please leave Jason alone. This might feel like an attack on us, on you, but it’s not. Jason wrote what he felt he needed--and as a writer, he is my colleague. Please show him respect. He should not be attacked for sharing his feelings. If we attack people for doing so, we make the world a worse place, because fewer people will be willing to be their authentic selves.
That said, let me say one thing. You, my friends, are not boring or lame. In Going Postal, one of my favorite novels, Sir Terry Pratchett has a character fascinated by collecting pins. Not pins like you might think--they aren't like Disney pins, or character pins. They are pins like tacks used to pin things to walls. Outsiders find it difficult to understand why he loves them so much. But he does.
In the book, pins are a stand-in for collecting stamps, but also a commentary on the way we as human beings are constantly finding wonder in the world around us. That is part of what makes us special. The man who collects those pins--Stanley Howler--IS special. In part BECAUSE of his passion. And the more you get to know him, or anyone, the more interesting you find them. This is a truism in life. People are interesting, every one of them--and being a writer is about finding out why.
In that way, the ability to make Stanley interesting is part of what makes Pratchett a genius, in my opinion. That's WRITING. Not merely using words. It’s what I aspire to be able to do. People are wonderful, fascinating, brilliant balls of walking contradiction, passion, and beauty. I find it an exciting challenge to make certain that the perspective of the washwoman or the monk sitting and reading a book is as interesting in a story as that of the king or the tech-mogul.
And I find value in you. Your passion for my work is a big part of why I write. You make my life special. Thank you.
(NOTE: I do want to make it clear, again that I bear Jason no ill will. I like him. Please leave him alone. He seems to be a sincere man who tried very hard to find a story, discovered that there wasn't one that interested him, then floundered in trying to figure out what he could say to make deadline. I respect him for trying his best to write what he obviously found a difficult article.
He’s a person, remember, just like each of us.)

BUTCHER BABIES Release One-Take Music Video For 'Sincerity', Filmed In London
Tumblr media
Following the launch of their new single "Sincerity", BUTCHER BABIES have shared a music video for the track, available on YouTube today. Directed by the powerhouse duo, singer Heidi Shepherd and guitarist Henry Flury, this raw, unrelenting one-take video rips through the shadowed streets of London. A visual that captivates the city's gritty chaos which mirrors the intensity of a metal riff that only BUTCHER BABIES can materialize.
"Sincerity" is a song rooted in wishful thinking. The lyrics dive into trusting someone to be delicate with your feelings, but rather having used those emotions to feed their own ego and benefit.
"Sincerity" marks BUTCHER BABIES's first release since the departure of co-founding co-vocalist Carla Harvey.
On the new single, Shepherd states: "Over the last decade and a half, BUTCHER BABIES has become known for our aggression and soaring melodies. This new release is no different. Diving into real-life experiences and expectations while exposing the rawest part of our souls, this single is bound to invoke an emotional rollercoaster between looking toward the future with hope while reminiscing of past losses."
Though a release date has yet to be confirmed, there are more plans for new BUTCHER BABIES music. Future releases will be available via Judge & Jury Records, a powerhouse record label and production company founded by multi-platinum producer Howard Benson (MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE, SEETHER, SKILLET, OF MICE & MEN) and Neil Sanderson of THREE DAYS GRACE. The instrumentation was meticulously crafted by Benson and Sanderson at West Valley Recording Studios, Benson's studio in Woodland Hills.
On the signing to Judge & Jury Records, Benson shares: "I have always been a fan of the band and never really thought we'd get a chance to work with them! I especially love Heidi's vocal range and ability to weave compelling stories through her music. Excited Judge & Jury got to do this music together with her and Henry, and for the fans to hear it!"
BUTCHER BABIES is Heidi Shepherd on vocals, Henry Flury on guitar, Ricky Bonazza on bass and Devin Nickles on drums.
BUTCHER BABIES played their first concert since the official departure of Harvey on July 27 at the Stonehenge festival in Steenwijk, The Netherlands.
The band announced Harvey's exit in a social media post on July 20. BUTCHER BABIES wrote: "As you may have already guessed, it is confirmed that Carla Harvey and BUTCHER BABIES have officially parted ways.
"Carla has been an integral part of our journey, bringing her unique talent, passion, and energy to the band. We are grateful for the incredible memories we've made together and the impact she has had on our music and our fans. We will miss her greatly and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
"We deeply appreciate your support over the past 15 years," BUTCHER BABIES added. "We feel incredibly fortunate to keep making and playing music as our career, and we are excited for this new era of BUTCHER BABIES!
"See you on the road."
Carla added in a separate post: "Over the last 6 months You may have noticed my absence from BUTCHER BABIES posts. After 15 years of dedication, I wanted to let you know that I will not be rejoining the band for any future endeavors.
"I am super proud of my work with BUTCHER BABIES…2 EPS, 5 Full lengths albums and countless tours with our metal heroes! To all of our incredible BUTCHER BABIES friends and fans…you have provided me with some of the greatest experiences of my life! I have loved every second of writing and performing all over the world for you! I have loved meeting you. WOW. I still can't believe this kid from Detroit got so lucky.
"I am not done making music and performing. I WILL see you soon".
In the fall of 2023, BUTCHER BABIES completed a European tour without Carla, who sat out the trek in order to undergo emergency surgery on her left eye.
BUTCHER BABIES' three-week 2024 European tour concluded on August 17 at the Czech Republic's Rock Of Sadská festival.
BUTCHER BABIES kicked off a U.S. headlining tour on September 18 in Palmdale, California. Support on the "Good Lord! The Butcher's Ded!" trek is coming from DED, DROPOUT KINGS and FOX LAKE.
This past January, Harvey and ANTHRAX and PANTERA drummer Charlie Benante announced that they were officially engaged.
BUTCHER BABIES released a double album "Eye For An Eye..." and "…'Til The World's Blind", in July 2023. The double album celebrates the tenth anniversary of BUTCHER BABIES' critically acclaimed debut, "Goliath", released on July 9, 2013 via Century Media Records.
BUTCHER BABIES' previous album, 2017's "Lilith" was produced by Steve Evetts (THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, SEPULTURA, SUICIDE SILENCE) and marked the band's recording debut with drummer Chase Brickenden, who replaced Chris Warner in 2016.

51. Welcome Home! Chibi-Robo! Happy Rich Big Sweep! (DS, 2009)
Original title: Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Ōsōji!
Fan name: Chibi-Robo! Clean Sweep
Tumblr media
Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! is an absolutely amazing sequel to the original Chibi-Robo! for GameCube
Taking elements from all previous entries to create the best game in the series yet.
Hoo boy! This game floored me, man!
I genuinely didn’t expect this to come close to the original considering it’s on the DS of all things but man I’m I glad to be proven wrong.
Ok! Let’s get straight into this I am excited to write about this.
Welcome Home! Chibi Robo!'s story takes place in Jenny Sanderson's house (from the first game!! yknow! The frog girl!), the house is in really bad condition as jenny and her family are quite poor.
In order to help with the finances and keep the house clean, the family saves up for a chibi-robo to help with those tasks.
You have your work cut out for you from here! Clean and make cash in order to make the life of the family better.
Pretty simple.
And from there... here I go rambling about the gameplay and story. OH MAN I HAVE ALOT TO SAY YOU DONT EVEN KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS GAMEAGH....
Let's start with the gameplay... holy shit it’s so good man
So. how do you go around? it is a 3D DS game after all... how do you control the game?
... with the touch screen- HEAR ME OUT IT WORKS
While not as comfy as the original, the touch screen implementation is really well done! you grow quite used to it and because of how its set up, the dpad is dedicated to camera control which works out great!
Tumblr media
Because of how you are likely to hold the device there L button is there for some extra actions mapped to it! ... that I will get to later.
Controls are alright!
Let’s put in place some basics. Chibi-Robo runs on a small rechargeable battery. You have a timer on you at all times. every second you stay still or take a step, your battery goes down.
Everything you do uses battery which creates this fun loop of trying to look for a charger every time you are low on power.
This has been standard for every game in the series. you do well and after a while you get a battery upgrade to explore more comfortably.
Actually, this game makes the loop even faster by not making every plug a save point which was an issue with the original. In the original every time you plugged into an outlet the game would ask you if you would like to save which was... annoying past a certain bit. Here the only save point is your chibi-house which works out. I do get why the original was made like that, the Sanderson’s house is massive so being able to save anywhere helps a fair bit but the smaller design here makes it so that wouldn’t make much sense.
What about that smaller design eh? how’s the house
Jenny's house is so damm fun to explore!! despite the cutback in CPU power due to being on the DS, Okaeri! Chibi Robo! has an immense sense of scale. areas truly feel hugeeee and there is a nice use of verticality that I will also get to in a bit.
The game also looks quite good! of course... not as good as the original but for DS standards its quite nice and stylized!
Tumblr media
Despite having less rooms than the original. I’d say it does a way better job than the original Sanderson's house in making a lot with less space.
We have a Living Room, a Kitchen, a hallway, a bathroom, rooms for Jenny and Keith (Jenny's son) and the backyard
They are all full of things to do!
Same as in the original, you can also enter a wide variety of small areas inside those rooms like the chimney, the couch, the AC (when you buy it), the water pipes, a hidden ghost casino... I won’t explain that one, under the house and so on!
There is a lot to explore which makes going around a joy!!
Chibi's arsenal is a bit different this time around. No chibi copter this time, as the need for it vanished when falling damage was removed (which is a godsend here btw), no blaster or radar, no mug or boombox from park patrol made a return but the spoon, toothbrush and the squirter (featuring its park patrol look) did make a return!
And there is the inclusion of a few vehicles you can use to speed up your travels
Tumblr media
But the most important out of all them is... the vacuum cleaner.
This is the most important part of the gameplay loop.
The vacuum only works when plugged into a wall which creates a lot of interesting scenarios where you have to see how to get to certain places or clean certain things that are out of your reach.
you can only go as far as your cord cable extends. you can upgrade this with cash at the chibi-house but for a while you will be struggling to clean everything with how small your cord is.
anyway, by vacuuming dust and cleaning dirt. you increase a rooms Sparkle Rate, which indicates how clean a room is.
The cleaner the room, the more upgrades and furniture you can buy for them!
The more you clean the more money you earn
When you fill one dust bag... you can use it to sieve for gold and gems.
Tumblr media
This will be your main method of making money for most of the game!
If you clean a lot, you get a lot of gold which is a significant amount of money.
and with the thrash you clean off, you can generate more power to the house... Oh yeah, the house runs off recycled waste which makes gives the player an incentive the clean!
No cleaning? No power, No Power? No Chibi Robo
So, the loop is Clean > Sieve > Buy > Repeat
While a game about cleaning may sound boring... it has one trick up its sleeve... one thing that changes this whole game to make it one of the most fun things ever... the cord throw...
When grabbing your plug over your head, you can hold L to start swinging it around, when its full charged it can be thrown a long distance (as long as your cord length is long enough) which leads some fantastic verticality not possible in the original
The original chibi robo had a problem with verticality where going up was a pain and falling down was too punishing. it was frustrating specially with the 15 minute time limit per day but okeri just... does not suffer from this one bit because you can do stupid shit like this in EVERY ROOM IN THE GAME.
... YOU SEE HOW THIS IS FUN RIGHT??
While yes you can’t do this as soon as you start, it’s still immensely rewarding getting to this point
Everything in okaeri feels like you are working towards something. You see your cord length go even farther than before, you see the house look nicer and nicer with more furniture you buy. Okaeri Chibi-Robo is an absolute joy to play because of this, your progression is displayed so clearly.
To go back to launching the plug for a second, every aspect of the house is designed with it in mind. A lot of plugs are put in a way so chibi can climb up there even with a low cord length so progression is usually not gated.
in no moment do you need to have a max length cord in the whole game so don’t worry about being short on cord.
Ok so the gameplay is great and has a great sense of progress... what about the story and characters
Starting with the toys!
Theresss a new set of toys in this game! Only one set familiar faces are here, that being of the free rangers and their underground explorations.
They are all so charming and fun! their side quests are all an absolute joy to get done!
I actually did all of them for my playthrough and was genuinely surprised when I didn’t have more of them to do. I genuinely wanted to do more of them but there wasn’t any more to do.
I loved doing Habanero's, Ketchup's and Iberico's side quests. those three were my favorites. no shade to the toucan phone tho, that was fun too.
All of them give you unique costumes with unique powers that are activated by pressing the L button! The police outfit lets you shoot with L, you can swim with the diving gear with L, you can pull out a guitar with ketchup's outfit and so on! its cool!
It does have less content than plug into adventure sadly but it is what it is, It is a DS game after all and it does enought for me to be satisfied with.
now... the story... man
SPOILERS FOR THE STORY.
Go to the next big bold text in order to continue
Okay so I set the basics down with why are you on Jenny's house... well as you continue to help you start seeing how the family has certain troubles apart from poverty...
You see her, her son Keith and the family dog, Lucky at all times but never Karl, Jenny's husband... and Keith makes mention of how he wants to see his father again after progressing the story enough.
After Keith says that, at night you can visit Jenny where she tells you the truth.
Karl, passed away in an accident before they could get married, Keith was born before they could get married.
Jenny never knew is Karl genuinely wanted to marry her or not as he often joked around the idea...
Okaeri Chibi Robo is a that deals with topics of loss in its own unique way as you help the family cope with the loss of Karl.
Jenny tries to move on, dating a guy she met at work... but Keith can’t let it go, getting mad at her mom for doing such a thing as she was devoted to his father...
After a while. you help Keith cope with all of this and you even get to talk to Karl's spirit
You realize that he did want to marry Jenny all along and you help him make the wedding Jenny never got.
The game ending with Karl and Jenny's wedding under the moonlight.
Karl's spirit passing away to the afterlife with no regrets, saying good bye to his family.
END OF SPOLERS
I could keep going but me making a summary like that is a disservice to how well done everything is.
In some ways its goofy but it’s so earnest and earned... in ways only chibi-robo can do.
The characters help the story a lot, they are all well done, you feel for Jenny's struggle as a single mom and how Keith misses his dad. You can’t help but feel sorry for them which pushes you to try to help them get out of poverty
The main cast and the side characters are all fantastic and enjoyable. They are one of the best parts of Okaeri! Chibi-Robo, managing to capture the charm of the characters found in the original game.
Okaeri Chibi-Robo is a wonderful experience that I don’t think I did justice here. it’s a game that you truly have to experience by yourself to have a good idea of how unique and fantastic it is.
Its def one of the best games I’ve played this year and I left out a lot of aspects of the game on purpose in order to entice you to find out things by yourself.
I love this game... there’s not a lot of games out there that can be goofy and as heartfelt as chibi robo...
9/10
one point taken off because... it is dragged down by being stuck on the DS, most sound effects are heavily compressed and don’t sound the best and the music isn’t that good honestly... which is a huge shame as skip is known for their oddly catching melodies in their games (Specially in Plug Into Adventure and Captain Rainbow)
My apologies if this was pretty scattershot and not great to read. Its hard to put into words how I feel about certain games that I love... and the next review wont be any easier with it being E.X. Troopers...
