Meet Theo and Reggie! <3

We adopted these cutie pies (brothers) in June of last year when they were just about 3 months old from a rescue in NJ. We had been looking for awhile to adopt a pair of floofy kitties when we finally found our little ones! Theo is a rambunctious black (black smoke, maybe?) cat with a long furry bib and light undercoat and Reggie is super furry silver boy who loves stretching his legs out like superman! We think Theo could be part Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat and Reggie seems to have some Nebelung or Russian Blue vibes. One thing we know for certain is their mom is a medium haired Tortie.

I recently moved (away from my abusive ass mother! Huzzah!), and it's been really bittersweet because me and my dog lost our bestest bud in October. So, like, out of a bad situation, but I don't even get to enjoy it with the coolest dog ever. But the dog I still have (10, half-blind) has been super upset. Like, I'll be gone 2 minutes to check the mail and I can hear her anxiously screaming all the way from the boxes. And I don't have it in me to get another dog, because it feels like replacing the chilliest, sweetest beast that ever lived. So I'm like ok, what about a cat? Old doggo is great with kitties. Apartment doesn't care.

So I went and got this the other day

And my dog's anxiety has gone down so much, just by having another living thing around the house while I'm away.

Her name is Juniper. She's slowly becoming friends with my dog, Clio. I've had her a little less than a week, and she's been a great cat so far. Only thing I could possibly complain about is that she's so lovey that I keep having whatever I'm holding knocked out of my hands by a cat eager for attention.

But the most important thing is she's helping ease the anxiety of an elderly dog who only has her right eye, and that's super slay of her. I don't exactly like introducing new friends into a situation like what I have going on, but it's working out so well and I have the means to take care of her. She's adjusted amazingly, and I'm hoping I'll have many good years with her, and a bunch more with my old doggo.

He’s been through SO MUCH in his first year of life (losing his eye and half his tail to infection from being in the hood of a car before he was rescued, then FIP and getting a painful shot every day for 3 months)

But dammit he’s a survivor!

copypasted from my privtwt. theres this kitten in my area who i feed sometimes because hes TINY. shorthair so i can properly see how small he is right. and i THOUGHT he was a stray which is why hes in such a condition and so obviously scared of people. until this lady calls at me "can you stop feeding my cat" LADY YOUR CAT IS BARELY EVEN SURVIVING!!!!!!!! neglectful cat owners piss me off so much feed ur damn pet properly or else i will literally take him im so serious. he spends all his time in our garden anyway. ive never seen this cat at his supposed "owner"s house. always at my house or the houses right next to/across from us. while this lady is like a good 5-6 houses away. anyway have i ever said how much i dont like outdoor cat owners. cuz i really dont like them. ignoring all other concerns (various environmental) its SO dangerous for ur cats especially in a busy car area like mine. ur cat is going to get hit by a car. ur scrawny kitten is going to get eaten. my dads watched multiple cats get hit just outside our house. fuck u if u keep ur cats outdoors im so serious u shouldnt be a cat owner if u cant afford to keep them entertained and fed well indoors. if u want to take ur cat outdoors do it SUPERVISED. cats are not as low maintenance as everyone thinks they are. theres always nuance to this but in general i think u should die idk

something to be said abt a foster pleading for anyone to adopt their extremely sweet and playful disabled tabby cat for over a year with absolute Crickets in response vs us making one post at 8pm with a frankly very poorly taken photo of a cute no-personality fluffy white kitten we have (who's not even been here 3 days!) and we have 45 comments within the hour and three of our adoption people with their phones blowing up

for breed I'm pretty sure he's just a regular domestic longhair/mutt yeah. I got him when he was 9 months old from a shelter back when i lived in oregon 83 he chose me and he has been my bestest little baby boy ever since 💛

Looking up chocolate smoke they seem more Solid brown than he is- he's definitely on the browner side of things and he's been getting more brown as he ages but i'd say he's probably more of a black smoke probably? i don't know cat genes super well but googling smoke colors he looks more like the cats there 83 !! He's definitely super brown in certain lights though! i'm always awed by how pretty he is tbh and it's SO funny you mention the household pets showing for him because my roommate was also just saying he would probably do well in a show haha but we both agreed while he's a sweetheart, he probably doesn't have the personality for being inspected since he's very particular about how he's pet/handled ghsdkfkfjs

and as for ur newest addition i very much do care! cats are neat little creatures who i adore and getting to gush about my archie always makes me happy so you're not bothering me or anything with the questions don't worry!!
