As is the nature of Fandom this is the most active the fandom will ever be. The amount of fan art, fanfiction, discussion, theories, etc will only slow down in the coming weeks, months, years, till Arcane is considered a throw back. This is the most people there ever will be who are active and want to talk about it.

Public opinion will shift with time and changing cultural climate. You will not feel the same about it after seeing the end, let alone when it is in the rearview of your interests.

Eventually we will get 4 hour long video essays titled things like "Was Arcane Overhyped?" and "Arcane: a retrospective" maybe even "How Arcane failed" depending on how the rest of the show goes. regardless, opinions will mellow.

I suspect we will get a more nuanced views of Arcane's successes and failures and it will grow a more devicive reputation than the overwhelming love it gets now. Like how Shera was a darling when it was airing, but now is much more niche and criticized.

Arcane is one of the first shows that I am a fan of while it is still airing, I tend to watch shows late. This will be new to observe. For me the melancholy of anything I like ending isn't just the lack of content, or the inability to predict or hope now that the show is over and it is all we will ever get. Rather, the knowledge that the wellspring of fan made content will run dry.

Adora Meets Catra!

Here is my first comic about Adora meeting Catra for the first time, made on large sketchbook paper with markers, pencils, and watercolors. It was for a series called “The Cadets!” about the young friends, Adora, Catra, Lonnie, Kyle, and Rogelio when they first joined the horde, how they met and what adventures they got up to and how they became friends. I might make more but I’m not sure if I’ll keep them traditional or do them digitally.

Hello! I'm sorry I waited this long to ask, but if allowed, can you tell me how are you? Are you safe? Healthy? I worried that the recent news might be ... affecting you. There is not much that I can do, save for a few art, so here! To do so, I present to you:

1 - A rendition of your Narinder in his Godslaying era, pre Crown, both regular and human version.

2 - Mesar and Shera as humans. I give them horizontal pupils because sheep

3 - Narinder in his Godslaying attire enjoying the slaughter. Tell me if you want to see his outfit more fleshed out.

4 - Human version of the siblings wandering era. Ask me about the thoughts I put into each details and style of their clothing please ( Shamura as the face needs to be the most presentable, etc)

Hi friend! First off- I'm doing ok! I was very stressed and upset following the election, but I have a good community around me. For the time being, I'm safe, healthy, and ready to thrive out of sheer spite. I hope you're doing ok as well!

1 - I love that you did both a human/feline interpretation for these. And you kept the detail about his torn ear! Very nice.

2 - These are SO good holy shit. Absolutely how I imagine their human forms! Love the way you drew Mesar's hair and how...zealous Shera looks. They're both so so good.

3 - LOVE how unhinged Narinder looks here. I would absolutely like to see more of your interpretation of his outfit. I've put a bit of thought into how his look evolved into the one we see him in in game, and I'd love to see your interpretations!

4- Again, love these human forms. Especially the details on the outfits. Off the bat one of the things I notice is that Narinder's pants aren't patched, indicating either a) he rips them so often it isn't worth patching or b) he doesn't care; both are apt lol. Also seems like his vest is old because it's so short on him. I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on the outfits!

MY CRITIC RED FLAG ⁉️⁉️⁉️ 😳 If people wanna block me or shoot me on sight IDK...

I love She-ra and the Princesses of Power & Catradora (or at least the version of it in my head) with all my heart. Catra was a character I used to cope with my Cluster B traits growing up and her & Adora are both the rawest depictions of BPD (Catra-only) & NPD I've ever seen in my life. I love the character dynamics within the show in general and to this day, I've never found another show where the interactions have as much complexities or different interpretations as She-ra.

With that being said, I think they both act toxic & arguably abusive to each other (with only Catra being called out & getting a redemption arc that even then I have issues with) and I wish the narrative did something with that much more. I dislike the mainstream fandom ignoring a lot of their problems & even framing certain behaviors (mostly Adora's) as romantic. However, I also hate the anti-Shera crowd pushing aside Adora's toxic behavior, but this is unsurprising to me considering how in interviews (that I've seen at least) with N.D. Stevenson and the voice actors, it's clear a lot of subtext to Adora's character, especially her NPD traits, were overlooked by the writers themselves. Her controlling behavior was often turned into simply "caring too much" and her status as the main character that we are meant to see ourselves in as we follow along with the story stops most people from questioning her motivations & seeing her as anything more than just "Her trauma made her kinder! But to everyone except herself :(".

But... that's all discussion for another day. I only bring it up here, because I love the show and will probably talk about it quite a bit. I've rewatched it a few days, but one day I'd like to rewatch in order to post my own analysis. For now though, I'd recommend some of ericas-spop-blog's posts if you're one of those people who I know is gonna get defensive over me criticizing Adora at times. I WILL block both fans and critics on my account, either if you're being nasty or frankly I don't have the energy to respond. This is like... more of a personal account anyway, so I'm honestly more concerned about talking to mutuals or people I already follow. I really don't care about taking criticism all the time, even if it's not malicious, so don't always take it personally.

Chronicles of Arla: King of Kings

Long ago, four Gods ruled the Arlan Desert. 

Yuitra, Goddess of Beginnings, Time, and the Unknown. Queen of the Gods.

Hunu, God of the Hunt, Harvest, and Night Sky. Father of Shadows.

Nirea, Goddess of the Forbidden, Profane, and Sacred. Bearer of Curses.

Sfin, God of Divine Weapons, Crafts, and Art. Builder of Souls.

These Gods lived in harmony amongst each other in their towering sandstone carved palaces. 

But when Tokuka Shera arrived, the great event that forced the Gods to leave the world of Arla, four Ascended Incarnates—humans blessed with the powers of the gods—were created by each Arlan God to watch over their kingdoms. These Incarnates created The Four Houses. For 27 years, these Houses lived alongside each other in harmony and peace in the Arlan Desert. But then the Crown of Damnation was used by a spiteful Incarnate, Queen Andelusia. War came. Andelusia’s conquest began. Thousands died.

But then one day, Queen Andelusia and the Crown disappeared. Centuries later, a piece of the crown mysteriously reappeared.  War came again. War of Kings. Houses were conquered, Incarnates died, and darkness fell upon the entire world of Arla. 

Now, only one God-King rules the Desert, a cursed landscape. He’s called the King of Kings, King Jaho II. Blessed with powers of the crafty God Sfin, Jaho II rules without mercy over the entire region. But time is ticking for the old God-King. His son, Prince Jaho III, is set to inherit both his throne and power.  But little does the young prince know, he is inheriting more than the pearl crown and power. Prince Jaho III is also set to inherit both a curse and a godly secret that could not only destroy the Desert but push away the one woman he truly loves: Queen Mesyla, the ruler of the mountain kingdom he is suppose to hate….a fierce queen with madness inducing powers. And little does he know, she will soon have to choose whether to love him or destroy him for her kingdom of madness.

Twelve years after starting a cidery at home in his basement, Nat West is celebrating the opening of a new Reverend Nat’s Hard Cider Taproom & Cidery on SE Division Street with a Summer Night Market. In partnership with Assemblage PDX, the street will be closed for the event which features 26 local artists and vendors and eight food carts from the new Farmhouse Carts pod attached to the Rev Nat’s Taproom. The Night Market is a benefit for the Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Order of Benevolent Bliss, an advocacy and support group for the LGBTQIA+ community. “I started this business in my basement without imagining that it would be successful enough to move beyond my house,” said Nat West. “In the last decade I’ve served a lot of people from around the world who have visited to enjoy cider from my two locations in Portland prior to this new space, each one an upgrade. Now I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing Division Street business community and welcome cider fans new and old to my new home.” The new Cidery & Taproom is located on SE 35th Place, one door down from Division Street and behind the long-standing wood-fired Italian restaurant Cibo. A new 9-space food cart pod opened adjacent to the cidery earlier this year and features acclaimed Mama Chow’s Chinese street food, Sunrise Coffee Co, Shera Indian, Thai Burger PDX, Let’s Roll, Gyro World and E-San Thai. A side door connects the air conditioned Reverend Nat’s Taproom to the outdoor covered and heated cart pod dining area. Behind the Taproom is a 5000 square foot production area previously occupied by Southeast Wine Collective and Logsdon Farmhouse Ales. In the coming weeks, the Reverend Nat’s team will be consolidating their cidermaking operations into the new space as they move out of their production-only facility under the 405 bridge in North Portland. Nat continued, “I have been looking for a new Taproom since we were forced to close our previous Taproom in 2020, but I didn’t want just any place that would work. I wanted a space that brought our over ten years of history and world-class ciders to a neighborhood where we had other food and beverage businesses to work alongside.” The new Taproom is open seven days per week with hours on Monday through Thursday from 3 pm to 9 pm and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10 pm. The upcoming Summer Night Market continues a tradition that Reverend Nat’s began at their previous home off NE Broadway. This marks the fourth time that the popular cidery has partnered with other artists and craftspeople to showcase handmade products.
