Having a bad time after watching a movie that made me terribly uncomfortable. How would Dale react to that? I know he’s probably be a little bad at comforting but, I need his big arms around me. I’m grossed out and sad by a stupid movie.
It's Britney bitch
-
Dale would be so giddy. Ecstatic and keening. Watching your outpouring of emotion triggers elated gasps and poorly hidden giggles. Bleary-eyed and quivering voice while you complain about how the movie made you feel, he'll eat it up. If only you could see how sensitive you look right now, absolutely immaculate.
I can't imagine he'd take his hands off of you, kissing at your face and tasting the salt of your tears. I think he'd get pretty turned on by your flushed cheeks and fluttering wet lashes. Many of these nights will end with him "comforting" you in the only way he knows how (if you know what I mean)
I think he'd try to comfort you to an extent. Loving how you cling to him for protection or comfort. "There, there, Little Angel," smiling smugly and rubbing circles into your back. "It's just a movie." All the while relishing the attention you're lathering on him, hanging off his every word. If the movie was about a lover dying/breaking up, he'll promise you over and over that he would never leave (and you better do the same for him)
The first time he sees you tear up, he'd probably be at a loss for words/actions. Awkwardly putting his arm around you with a gentle word of comfort. Only when you cling to him does he start to warm up to his newfound role. Deciding that he likes this attention and maybe he should start looking for more sappy and sad movies.

longlegs.
dialogue prompts from longlegs (2024).
half psychic is better than not psychic at all.
maybe we'll just call you 'highly intuitive'.
can you stay on the line?
you know, there's such a thing as looking too long.
i must have lost track of time.
i'll drink while you tell me things.
it's almost like ____ was never there at all.
you didn't call to say goodnight.
even veals grow a little, and they grow up in a box with their legs all tied up.
i spent the day at home. where else would i be?
i'm okay. i just can't sleep.
i saw more than my fair share of nasty stuff.
i think i just need to be quiet for a little bit.
somebody's birthday is coming up.
be careful they don't work you too hard, alright?
are you still saying your prayers?
you're not afraid of a little bit of dark because you are the dark.
i've seen you before.
you've been to my house.
it's like a long dream, and so dark. a world of dark.
do you remember coming here?
what aren't you telling me?
when was the last time you talked to your mother?
will you tell me the honest truth about something?
i never said my prayers, never once. they scared me.
all our prayers don't help us. prayers don't do a goddamned thing.
nobody ever came to visit. no family, no strangers, no big bad wolves. not anybody.
you're not a child because you were allowed to grow up.
this is a cruel world, especially for the little things. not all of them are allowed to live.
i might have forgotten everything i could, but i never threw anything away.
you really don't remember?
now you're free, too.
i'm just a friend of a friend.
i'm doing this for you. just like i've always done.
don't call me that.

Lmao your post with Yuu throwing it back is giving me life rn 😂
But did you know that shaking your bottom is a mating ritual between some species of birds? (Like the black widow, I think?)
So my brain instantly went back to the monster au. The thought of the twst boys thinking their lil' hooman is trying to seduce or woo them as a potential mate is a riot to me 🤣
Referencing this post here!
That one was one of my favorite posts I’ve written for this AU! Glad to see it’s still putting my readers in stitches! XD
I think that might’ve been a typo of sorts and you meant “bugs” instead of birds? Black widows are arachnids, though the categories do get mixed together quite frequently. Random fun fact since you mentioned spiders, but did you know that the Harvestmen or “daddy longleg” spiders aren’t really spiders? They’re actually very closely related to scorpions, which technically speaking are in the arachnid family, but their appearance makes people mistake them as spiders despite them lacking the glands to make webbing! OwO
Wanted to share since, despite me being scared of spiders, am also strongly fascinated by them!..just not enough to actually handle them or be within five feet of one. ^^;
Anyway, back to the matter at hand: Monster AU. It’s so hilarious imagining just how out of context so many things would be in this AU! Even more so when the researchers are completely unaware of what’s happening so they can either study or explain it away! 😂
Now, that’s not to say that they’ll see every gesture and movement as flirtatious or as a courtship display. After all, when you’re surrounded by so many different species living together? It probably took a while before the monsters figured out that their neighbor was just greeting them normally and not trying to flirt or insult them and that it was just how that monster species typically greets others. Progress at least! However, if Yuu (regardless of gender) were to keep making repetitive movements while dancing and giving one of the monsters a playful or (to the boys) seductive look?
Hoo boy, watch out Yuu: you’ll wind up getting courted back! Even worse if more than one tries to challenge each other to claim the boyfriend title. 😅
Now that I think about it, I’d imagine that the older monsters/staff/researchers would be less likely to think that what Yuu was doing was a courtship dance. After all, they’ve been around long enough to know the difference between pure instinctual courtship behaviors and just someone who is either dancing or “moving erratically”. Even Lilia would know the difference, but chooses not to say anything because he’s a chaotic gremlin of a bat monster who loves to see the young pups enjoying their youth. 😌
……dangit, why did this make me want to brainstorm different courtship methods to each species?! 🤣

Day thirteen: "Well...you grabbed my hand first". Longlegs masterlist A/N: given how the pool I made yersterday went, I thought this was the perfect prompt to write my first Lee Harker fic! To eveyone who comes on my page for the fist time, I want to say that given that english is not my first language, my grammar may seem a bit 'choppy'. I hope you will enjoy this!
A loud screaming sound erupts from the tv, resonating in the room. You are sitting on Lee's couch, watching as yet another victim falls at the entity's hands.
Next to you, Lee seems almost unmoved, not showing one bit of emotion as the girl gets dragged inside the darkness.
You look over at her, how her hair are undone and let you see her under a new light. You don't know what you and Harker are. You have worked for one year as her boss's secretary and have interacted with her many times. "Where's agent Carter?" and "Agent Carter needs this " and "When will agent Carter come back?" where things she asked you on a daily basis. At one point, you grew sick of it and just told her, God knows what possessed you, "Agent Lee Harker, if you need an excuse to see me just tell me so". It had been a mistake, because for a while she stopped coming to you entirely. Had you been unprofessional? Where you going to be fired over this? One day she came back to you. It was eight pm and the street lights outside were casting a bright glow in your office. You packed your things and were about to go out, when you saw Lee standing at your door. "A-Agent Harker!" you gasped, bringing a hand to your heart, "Y-you could have warned me!". She just stood there, unmoving and silent. You almost wondered if she was going to be a threat to you in any way, before you saw the faint blush coloring her cheeks. "...Lee?" when you spoke her name, it almost seemed like she was brought back from somewhere very far from here. Her eyes shot up and she started to shift weight from one leg to the other. "Would you... would you like to come to my house one day?".
You were amazed by how nice Lee's house looked. She welcomed you and made you tea. You had lost track of time and when you looked outside the window, the sky was already dark. "I- I should go". Lee's voice sounded almost sad when she asked you "Would you like to stay?". That's where you are now, sitting on the couch of a coworker you barely knew and for whom you might have a small crush. It was Lee's idea to watch a movie, and she was even kind enough to let you pick which one from her tapes. You chose a horror movie, one of those you thought was just the umpteenth poor budget slasher. But your judgment was wrong, and you chose something that ended up far scarier than you thought.
You shriek when a monstrous shadow stands behind the protagonist, reaching for their shoulders... "We can change the movie if you want" Lee is about to stand up, the blanket covering her shifting, before you stop her by taking her hand. "N-no... I want to keep watching" the waver in your voice betrays your words. "Are you sure?" there is a slight tinge of worry in her eyes, those deep brown eyes of hers... "Yes! Just please-" she sits back down and you don't fail to notice how she has sat closer to you now. As the movie goes on and on, both of you find yourselves leaning close to one another, little by little, until you are both pressing against each other. You hear her let out a long sigh and look up at her. Her cheeks are rosy, lips tightly sealed and eyebrows twitching. She turns to look at you, eyes half lidded and lips parted: she looks so...
"L-Lee, I-" a scream bursts from the tv in the living room, making you jump and scream and making Lee jolt and grip at the couch's seat with force. The scene changes, but you are still clinging to Lee's hand while she has her arm tightly wrapped around your body. "God-!" you collapse on her, feeling goosebumps travel along your body and your heart beating fast. "This movie is- scary!" Lee doesn't reply, all too focused on how close you are to her. You notice the position you're in: Lee leaning back on the couch, her right arm gripping tightly at your body; you, small in her arms and clinging to her left hand.
Her touch feels hot, so hot you are willing to pull away, but instead you stroke over her skin with your thumb, dangerously close to the border between work and flirting. "W-was the movie so scary you needed to grab onto me?" you say, cocky, wanting to tease her in one way or the other. Her blush deepens more, somehow; she looks at your joined hands. "Well...you grabbed my hand first".

My 25 Favorite Films of 2024
Apologies for the delay but I finally finished my to-do list! Here are my 25 favorite films of 2024.
25. Wicked
Tumblr media
It's about time Hollywood made musicals great again. Wicked takes the iconic Broadway play onto the big screen in one of the most fun and well-crafted films of the year. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande absolutely shine as Elphaba and Galinda. From the terrific cast, the great costumes, the stellar production design to the wonderful songs, Wicked may have given new life to an underappreciated genre.
24. In a Violent Nature
Tumblr media
In a Violent Nature turns slasher horror on its head as the entire film is told from the perspective of the serial killer. For much of the film, you're literally looking over his shoulders as he targets his innocent victims staying in a remote cabin in the woods. The killing scenes are so gross yet so much fun and kind of imaginative. If you're a horror junky, you'll absolutely love this one.
23. Longlegs
Tumblr media
Probably the closest thing to Silence of the Lambs since Silence of the Lambs came out in 1991, Longlegs is a disturbing psychological crime thriller borderlining on horror about a young FBI agent's hunt for a serial killer. Nicolas Cage continues his acting Renaissance, this time completely unrecognizable as the deranged killer Longlegs leaving Agent Lee Harker (Maika Monroe) on a cat-and-mouse chase. Writer/director Osgood Perkins, who was probably best known as "Dorky David" in Legally Blonde, may be joining the ranks among the masters or horror in the 21st century.
22. Babes
Tumblr media
Good raunchy comedies are few and far between in the modern era, which is why Babes is worth heralding. Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau are a dynamic duo playing best friends and their journey as an expecting mother (following a one-night stand) and young mother respectively. Babes is genuinely laugh-out-loud funny and can be an instant comedy classic.
21. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
Tumblr media
In an age of constant sequels, remakes and reboots, very few franchises maintain their quality like the recent Planet of the Apes films. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is yet another strong installment to the franchise with rich new characters and stunning visuals. May the apes continue their reign!
20. A Real Pain
Tumblr media
Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkan star as estranged cousins who trace the Polish roots of their late Holocaust-surviving grandmother. A Real Pain (which Eisenberg wrote and directed) is a road trip dramedy that certainly hits home. Culkan's amazing performance alone is worth the watch.
19. We Grown Now
Tumblr media
We Grown Now is a touching coming-of-age film about two young boys who live in the projects in Chicago's Cabrini-Green neighborhood in the 90s. Very few films can artfully capture childhood innocence like this one can. We Grown Now completely rides on the shoulders of its two young lead actors Blake Cameron James and Gian Knight Ramirez.
18. Monkey Man
Tumblr media
What could be described as an Indian John Wick, Monkey Man is a helluva good time. Dev Patel made a strong directorial debut as well as writes and stars in this action-packed revenge thriller with some of the best fight sequences you'll see all year. If other films he directs are this much fun in the future, then Patel will certainly have a long career in the director's chair ahead of him.
17. His Three Daughters
Tumblr media
One of the most overlooked films of the year happens to be on the biggest streaming platform (ahem, Netflix, ahem). His Three Daughters is a family drama fueled by raw emotion that truly feels like you're watching a staged play as virtually the entire film take place in a quaint two-bedroom NYC apartment. Carrie Coon, Elizabeth Olsen, and Natasha Lyonne play estranged sisters to come together as their ailing father takes a turn for the worse. The trio of actresses are what drive this film, particulary Lyonne's career-best performance.
16. Nickel Boys
Tumblr media
There haven't been many films as grounded and intimate as Nickel Boys, which follows to Black boys and the real-life abuse they endured at a reform school. Shot through each of their perspectives throughout the film, Nickel Boys showcases fresh talent from filmmaker RaMell Ross and from up-and-coming actors Ethan Herisse and Brandon Wilson.
15. I'm Still Here
Tumblr media
I'm Still Here is a powerful Brazilian film based on the harrowing real-life story of the 1970 disappearance of Brazilian politician Rubens Paiva under the country's military dictatorship and his wife's mission for answers. Fernanda Torres offers a powerful performance as the determined matriarch trying to shelter her children from danger while becoming a one-woman army against the authoritarian government.
14. A Complete Unknown
Tumblr media
Timothée Chalamet continues to prove he's one of the finest actors of his generation, transforming himself into Bob Dylan in James Mangold's A Complete Unknown. The film seamlessly threads Dylan's biography with his iconic music (Chalamet does his own singing!) and is accompanied by a phenomenal ensemble including Edward Norton as Pete Seeger and the film's breakout star Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez.
13. The Wild Robot
Tumblr media
Easily DreamWorks' best animated film in several years, The Wild Robot is a beautiful tale of self identity and finding family. The talents of Lupita Nyong'o show no bounds bringing life to an expressionless robot and is joined by a wonderful cast of critters. The Wild Robot is full of laughs, will tug at the heartstrings, and is a rare gem that's truly fun for the whole family.
12. Nosferatu
Tumblr media
Robert Eggers' chilling reimagining of Nosferatu is yet another example of his ability of turning horror into an art form. Lily-Rose Depp gives a star-turning performance and is joined by a powerhouse cast including Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Willem Dafoe, Emma Corrin and Bill Skarsgård, who is unrecognizable as the iconic evil Count Orlok.
11. A Different Man
Tumblr media
A Different Man is a brilliant noir-esq comedic tragedy, which seems like an oxymoron but if you see this film you'd understand why. Sebastian Stan of Marvel fame gives the best performance of his career as a struggling actor with neurofibromatosis who undergoes experimental treatment only for the role he was truly born to play is snatched away from him by another actor with the same condition, leading him to spiral out of control.
10. September 5
Tumblr media
September 5 revisits the gut-wrenching horrors of the Munich massacre of the Israeli athletic team in the 1972 Summer Olympics from the perspective of the ABC Sports crew that was there to capture the story ahead of their colleagues in the news division. The film tackles journalistic ethics as what they choose to do (or not) could lead to fatal consequences.
9. The Brutalist
Tumblr media
Clocking in at 3 hours and 35 minutes (complete with an intermission!), The Brutalist is, well, brutal- but in the best way possible. Adrien Brody shines as famed Hungarian-Jewish architect László Toth and his life in America following the Holocaust. Actor-turned-filmmaker Brady Corbet masterfully pieced together stunning visuals, a terrific score and a phenomenal cast, cementing himself a true cinematic artist.
8. The Substance
Tumblr media
The Substance is gory, uncomfortable, and absolutely delightful. Demi Moore stars as an aging Hollywood starlet desperate to give her flailing career a lifeline. So she turns to take "the substance," leading her to some unwanted side effects. Part body horror and part dark comedy, The Substance offers perhaps the grossest view of showbiz by French filmmaker Coralie Fargeat. There'll be an Oscar waiting for Moore at the end of awards season.
7. Conclave
Tumblr media
Edward Berger's Conclave is essentially a political thriller about the turmoil that unfolds in the Vatican when selecting a new pope- and it's a lot juicier than one could ever imagine. Ralph Fiennes leads a brilliant ensemble cast that includes Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow and Isabella Rossellini. Conclave is a holy drama you might feel dirty about after, but that's why it's so much fun.
6. Anora
Tumblr media
Indie filmmaker Sean Baker has made his mark with his previous films (Tangerine, The Florida Project, Red Rocket), but Anora has put him on a whole new level. Mikey Madison stars as an escort who gets into bed with the son of a Russian oligarch and drama further ensues when they end up tying the knot. With elements of a heartbreaking drama and a hilarious screwball comedy, Anora is a little film with a lot of spunk and is among the most enjoyable ones in recent memory.
5. Challengers
Tumblr media
Who knew tennis could be so hot? Luca Guadagnino's Challengers puts a love triangle on the court led by Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O'Connor. Fun, intense, and sexy, Challengers was one of the most memorable trips to the movies this year (that could be thanked to fantastic editing and the iconic score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross).
4. Dune: Part Two
Tumblr media
Hollywood rarely makes blockbuster films that are also cinematic achievements. Denis Villeneuve's Dune: Part Two is exactly both. This sci-fi epic is a once in a generation franchise that values storytelling as much as the action. Its climactic sequence rivals The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. From the powerhouse ensemble to the gorgeous cinematography to the iconic score to the incredible effects, Dune: Part Two is a reminder that Hollywood magic still exists.
3. The Seed of the Sacred Fig
Tumblr media
By far my favorite foreign film of 2024 is The Seed of the Sacred Fig, an Iranian drama that takes place during the 2022 protests. What's incredible about this film is that it was shot in secret because it's critical of the Iranian regime, so much so that its writer/director Mohammad Rasoulof had to flee the country as he was facing an eight-year prison sentence. Despite the film being Iranian, it was submitted by Germany in the Academy Awards' Best International Film category instead of Iran. Sacred Fig is part political thriller, part family drama featuring a strong cast and an incredible story. The film is more than just art, it's a rebellion.
2. Strange Darling
Tumblr media
Perhaps the best film that virtually no one saw in 2024, Strange Darling is a hidden gem that will blow you away, particularly if you go into it blind (so don't look up the plot!). It will keep you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns you'll never expect. Jam-packed with thrills, terror, and even some dark humor, Strange Darling will leave a lasting impression.
Sing Sing
Tumblr media
Sing Sing is truly a film for the soul. Rarely does a film consume you with so much emotion from beginning to end that will make you both laugh and cry in between. Sing Sing follows the theater program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility and nearly the entire supporting cast is made up of former inmates who did the program. Colman Domingo gives an Oscar-worthy as one of the leaders of the theater group in a desperate pursuit for clemency. Not only is Sing Sing one of A24's best films to date, it's the best film of 2024.

Tumblr media
finally got to watching longlegs and i love lee sm. can’t get her out my head so here’s this! lee x baker!reader woo !!!! this has also been uploaded as a bot on my cai <3
Tumblr media
the smell of cinnamon and sugar clung to your clothes like a second skin—a scent you’d long stopped noticing until someone else pointed it out. your little bakery on main street had been open for a month, and in that time, you’d learned a few things about your new town:
the mayor liked blueberry scones.
old mrs. carver had a soft spot for oatmeal raisin cookies (yes, really)
lee harker, the dreamy FBI agent who lived in the house at the end of birch lane, had a habit of grocery shopping way too early in the morning.
the first time you saw her, you’d been in the cereal aisle, debating the merits of cornflakes versus bran, when she reached over your shoulder for a box of cheerios. tall, broad-shouldered, hair that looked like it had been half-heartedly brushed that morning, lee had muttered an apology, her voice low and rough like gravel after rain.
that was it. that was the moment you were a goner.
of course, you didn’t tell her that. you just stared at her like an idiot (mouth agape like a fish out of water and everything), clutching your box of cornflakes while she gave you a polite nod and went on her way. what were you supposed to do? chase her down the bread aisle and declare your undying love? …well. absolutely not. you had a shred of dignity left.
instead, you hatched a plan. a stupid plan no less. but it was all you had.
every morning, after opening the bakery at some ungodly hour (six am to clarify) and dealing with the early bird crowd, you’d box up a batch of pastries and walk them over to lee’s house.
you told yourself it was practical. you always had leftovers. (you didn’t.) it was a good way to introduce yourself to the neighbors. (you only ever went to lee’s house.)
lee always answered the door in the same way: slightly disheveled, wearing a t-shirt that looked two sizes too big and a pair of sweatpants that had seen better days. her expression was half-asleep but polite, and she always accepted your offerings with a muttered, “thanks,” and an awkward smile. god, that smile. it was the kind of smile that made your stomach flip and your brain short-circuit.
you weren’t even sure if she liked pastries. maybe she threw them out as soon as you left. maybe she fed them to a dog you hadn’t seen yet. but the way she looked at the box, like it was some kind of mystery (perhaps, gasp! she was aware of your little crush), kept you coming back. delusional? yes. you were aware.
this morning was no different. you’d gotten up early—earlier than usual—to bake a fresh batch of lemon bars. the tangy-sweet scent filled your tiny kitchen as you dusted them with powdered sugar and arranged them in a neat little box.
a little yellow bow and very meticulously handwritten ‘enjoy! and hope your day goes well :)’ note to go with it. by the time you walked up lee’s driveway, the sun had just started to peek over the horizon, painting the sky in shades of pink and gold.
you knocked on the door and waited, nervously bouncing from foot to foot. the air smelled of dew and freshly cut grass, and somewhere in the distance, a bird was chirping a little too enthusiastically for your liking.
you could hear movement inside the house—the shuffle of feet, the creak of a door hinge—and then there she was, standing in the doorway like some kind of goddess. sap.
“morning,” you smiled, holding out the box. your voice sounded annoyingly chipper, even to your own ears.
lee blinked at you.
“morning,” she replied, her voice a little hoarse, like she hadn’t spoken yet today. she took the box, her fingers brushing against yours for the briefest second.
was it warm out, or was that just your face? definitely just your face. great.
“lemon bars,” you murmured, filling the silence. “figured i’d switch it up.”
lee nodded, glancing down at the box like it held state secrets. “thanks. you didn’t have to, y’know.”
“it’s nothing,” you replied quickly, waving a hand like you hadn’t spent an hour debating whether lemon was too bold a choice. “just… leftovers.”
she gave you that awkward smile again, the one that made your heart do stupid things, and you realized you were staring.
“well, uhm, enjoy,” you stepped back. “i’ve got to get back to the bakery.”
“yeah,” she hummed, still holding the box like it might bite her. “see you around.”
as you walked back down the driveway, you couldn’t help but glance over your shoulder. lee was still standing in the doorway, watching you with an expression you couldn’t quite read. you told yourself it didn’t mean anything, but the way your heart raced said otherwise.
maybe tomorrow you’d try muffins. or cookies. or no wait, brownies. something safe. something that didn’t scream, “i like you, please notice me.”
or maybe… just maybe it was time to be a little bolder.

Made something?
I've been really obssesing over poppy playime lately, the game is so damn good, I genuinly love it, so this is mostly just work in progress and a small "lab test" if you may when it come to my writting since I want to experiment with stuff.
"You....Your Poppy's angel" Those where the first words you heard from to the giant mangled creature that resembled the critter Dogday.
"Come to save us" His voice was hoarse, his lower body completely gone, all the while his hand where held unto metal hooks to keep his body...or what remained of it suspended in the air.
"Nothing left to save...not here" How right he was, you had come here to try and get answers, at least to try and understand what had happened, what had gone wrong and yet you had only found death and failure...but this was new.
"You're in Catnaps home, angel" For the first time since entering this forgotten place you had found...suffering...fresh real suffering, of course you could guess Mommy longlegs had died painfully but that ws nothing compare to this...thing...
"Their home, a million pairs of eyes are on you now," This was never meant to happen, you had come here with a clear goal and yet now...you could only feel bad...not pitty but genuinely sad, there was nothing you could do for those old coworkers who were long dead, or for the children who you were pretty sure had shared the same fate as your coworkers did.
"Watching, waiting, hungry..." Hungry...that had always bothered you, it was such a huge design flaw, you had tried to tell them, how there needed to be some change so they wouldn't need to eat, you had even given them the absolute best reason, it would cost less to mantain, and yet they hadn't listened...
"They want nothing more than to crawl beneath your skin and eat away at you bit by litte bit," You really wish those higher up brainless sad excuses of human beings would still be alive so you could laugh at them...although they did get eaten, so that will have to do at least.
"And feel what is empty inside themselves" The little failures would be dissapointed with what they found...little to fill their empty husks.
"Listen to me, you need to get out of this place," Tempting...
"You need to live," It's not like you're interested in doing otherwise, to many loose ends to leave behind by selfishly dying.
"You and Poppy can fix this, end this madness, the torment, the-oh no," Those small critters had started inching closer to the mangled body of Dogday, they were so fucking ugly, such failures about to twist even more one of the few succesful ones, one you had spent so much work nd time on, he looked utterly helpless, pathetic and...terrified
"OH NO!" He was absolutely terrified, of course anyone would be if small creatures were about to eat their insides bit by bit, it is only natural to fear such  painfull death and yet...
"Leave me, please, just go, RUN!!" He was still trying to get you to leave, more worried about you than himself...
You really don't realize what you've done until after you've done it that the screams of the small critters fill the room as you shoot them with the bengal gun hand as you pull Dogday with all your strength much to his shock as he basically falls on top of you, causing you to almost fall over from the unexpected weight, yet you manage not to fall back as you regain your bearing, holding Dogday tightly, the plushfur of his body was all matted and smelled putried almost making you drop him and recoil.
But you didn't...
"Angel what are you doing?" His voice sounded absolutely shocked yet terrified at the same time.
"You shouldn't have done that, Catnap won't let this pass!" He was now panicking as you manuvered him so he would be on you back.
"Hold my shoulders, don't let go," You order and he does as told, holding unto your shoulders, almost reminding you of a plushie backpack, except the plushie was giant, missing half of it's body and absolutely dirty...
Oh well, you'd fix that later, now you needed to get out of this damned laberynth of a place before those disgusting small critters got to you.

do you have any hcs about lee's past? like experiences and friends she's encountered from when she was a girl, from hs to college to unspecified job (required for fbi) to actually joining the fbi as a special agent? wyt actually motivated her to 'get into law enforcement' as longlegs crooned at her? i feel like she's a loner, has been drifting for a while without finding true connection for so long because she's just different (great fuel for romance). maybe she likes the fbi bcuz of the rigor and heavily structured environment. no irrational human feelings involved except for her cowokers that she isn't close with (excluding supervisors)

Tumblr media
I feel like when she was a young girl, she wasn't so different from how she is at an adult, you know? it seems, based on the film, she had selective mutism, and I think that probably made it difficult for her to befriend people in addition to her natural reservations
but, I don't think she always felt lonely. @mignonettesauce said this, and I totally agree, but I feel like she's quite an independent child. she was raised by a single mom who worked, lived in a pretty isolated area -- I think this all led to her being a pretty secure and self-sufficient kid who's able to go about their day to day without necessarily needing an adult watching them 24/7
we can see in the film that she's definitely a creative kid. I think that adds to her independence. she has several hobbies, interests, and things she enjoys doing on her own without having to worry about managing the company of someone else. I feel like partner work in class made her lowkey stressed, not really knowing how to proceed with conversation and not trying to go too fast in her colouring so the other kid doesn't feel bad 😭
she definitely has a strong moral compass in the film, and in my experience, people who have such a strong sense of justice often did as a kid. so, I could see her being very intolerant and upset when she witnesses other people getting bullied. while she'd be buzzing with anxiety to do so, I could see her being the kind to silently step in front of someone being taunted, even if it means she becomes the new target
I definitely think that while generally comfortable with being on her own, she definitely wondered at what it'd be like to be part of something. part of a group, part of a joined friendship, part of a community. after all, it can be quite stifling to have your mom be the only person keeping you company, and after a while of being on the outskirts of everything, it can be hard to resist the question of: is there something wrong with me?
in high school, she definitely kept to herself and was only known simply due to being part of a small town where everyone went to the same elementary school, middle school, and then high school. she's kind of known as the "weird, quiet kid," the one who gets honours every year and barely speaks to a soul. she usually eats lunch on her own, spends hours in study hall to avoid heading home, and works part-time at the local library.
I feel like she'd def have random power moments in high school, though, the kind that get people looking at each other like, "shit, she talks?" like, during debates or mock trails in her law classes, she'll spit straight BARS and will be so smooth, factual and confident that it'll have everyone cooing and whistling in shock and admiration
I agree that even in high school, she wouldn't often be approached. I think her general solitude, and her reputation for being a loner, would make most people assume she wouldn't be enjoyable to interact with. I think the older she got, the more cognizant she became of her own struggles with socializing, since she'd observe other people a lot. I think it would make her more self-conscious to undergo these realizations, since she'd become more acutely aware of how she responds and looks (facial expression wise) when talking to other people
and around this time, ruth would slowly be fading away as well, and this would cause only more discomfort and stress within her at home, and therefore, further make her wish that she could have someone, anyone, even just one person, to depend on. and I think she'd just so badly crave to feel understood, you know? even if she's content hanging on her own, she'd still feel at least slight self-conscious and just know she can be... tolerated? (tolerated because I feel like she wouldn't have the best self-image)
I remember an anon once sending an ask to @gotenoughonhermiund about this, but I feel like there's a good chance she would get adopted by extroverts, you know? like, maybe she'd be partnered up with someone who's more outgoing and friendly, and they'd end up stunned by just how kind and actually witty lee is once you get to know her and peel back the layers of reservations and solitude. and with this, she'd slowly be introduced to more friends
friends who I think would find her funny as fuck -- like, she'd def be the kid who you think has no backbone because they're so quiet, but when it comes down to it, they WILL fucking tell you how it is. again, she's also such an angel and oh-so-smart and willing to help them with their homework, and I think this experience would mean SO much to her. like, that kind of connection is not something she'd take lightly and it'd make her thaw so much to feel actually wanted. not needed by necessity, the way it is with her mom, but actually wanted for herself
I agree with all your reasons for her joining law enforcement! like kobble said, she didn't make the decision till she was twenty, but I could see her growing an interest in criminology within high school. piecing together the different cases the class received printed sheets on, figuring out clues and inconsistencies in the fictional cases provided for mock trials -- it scratches an itch in her head and makes her feel genuinely of use. like maika always emphasizes, these crimes are lee's comfortable area, where she's actually able to just deal with straight, solid facts that come as they are. so, yeah, I totally agree, I think she absolutely loves the structure and objective nature of solving crimes, and how working as a special agent affords her lots of time to piece things together on her own. like you said, it's a job that deals with facts as opposed to human emotion, the latter of which she still struggles to decipher in others even as an adult. and I think she finds the routine comforting -- go to work, do a, b and c, then head home. and, again, she has a strong sense of justice, so it'd make her feel good to feel like she has a purpose in the world and is doing things to help others. especially having been raised in a home where fear was always of second nature to her mother
I feel like due to enjoying her law and criminal justice classes so much through high school, she naturally decides to study criminology, not really knowing what she'd like to pursue as a career path. I think what'd cause her to finally land on the fbi is being frustrated at not being able to play an active role in justice being brought to innocents. she'd be determined to get to the nitty gritty of it, and actually make a difference by being able to use her mind and solving abilities to bring clarity and truth to a case. and with more thorough research, other parts of the job would be appealing to her, like, as you said, the independence and rigorous nature of it
I feel like she'd work as a police officer at first, which I read is a good pre-fbi job, but it'd definitely be... a transitional period for her. I could see her being incredibly overwhelmed with all the civilians she has to interact with, as well as now having coworkers she's actually required to work with. and I think her first time dealing with a more intense day, performing a task that's more dangerous or at risk of harming her, would be super anxiety-inducing for her. I could see her definitely having an attack from it, and using it as a reason to start practicing breathing techniques or ways to manage her panic.
I think even just handling a more gruesome and violent case would get her extremely emotional, crying to herself when she's alone or needing to leave the station to walk out her fury. I think with time, she'd do a better job at managing these emotional reactions, but they'd definitely hit her a lot at first
regardless, I think while her coworkers would at first, be slightly put off by how reserved and matter-of-fact she is, they'd all grow to admire her for how efficient and organized she is. and I think even when things would get tough for her, she'd be determined to work her way through it anyways. so long as it means she meets her goals and can live a life of helping others

hi!! i’m a relatively new omori fan (a brainrotted fan, however, with 140 hours in the game so far… and 98% completion bc i lost to the recyclepath.. -_-) anyway, i love your analysis posts, you’ve clearly studied the details of this game very well!!
i was hoping to ask about the timeline of white space and headspace creation, if you have the time and would like to! my roommate and i played together and have tried to piece it together a few times over the four playthroughs we’ve done (two of each route), but there are still some details that seem contradictory to me. i’m sorry if this is obvious though!
so the transcript of the truth album says “you sink into a crevice in your mind… an empty white room” so i initially assumed white space was created on the day of the incident, in that dissociative state while mari was in the bed. you also see this in the sequence after three days left before going back into headspace where it’s sunny and basil in front of the door, then sunny in white space, then the manifestation of omori. of course, we’ve also been told “you’ve been living here for as long as you can remember”, but we can assume the “you” is omori instead of sunny, which makes sense if he was created in white space
however. in the lost library we see that sunny used to explore headspace during school, presumably before the incident, and daddy longlegs says “in the beginning, there only existed two... the dreamer and his room” and then “the dreamer grew weary of his room and created a door that led to many different worlds”, referring to white space and headspace, so white space existed first. so white space existed before the incident.
so then the white space reference from the truth album is maybe about the manifestation of omori, instead of the creation of white space. i think the outfit sunny’s wearing in the omori cut scene is also the same as from the day of the incident (the black tshirt & shorts). so presumably (before the incident), sunny used to explore headspace as sunny instead of as omori.
daddy longlegs then goes on to talk about black space, and how omori was created to let sunny “ascend to a blissful state of ignorance” and “forget himself” (this also prompts an interesting question of how sentient omori is — because he’s the protector (& knows enough to be willing to kill basil) but he’s also “ignorant of his own fabrication”, according to daddy longlegs, but i guess that’s another matter entirely!) black space was created in response to trauma, so that again supports the idea that omori was manifested after the incident.
so then white space. a place to survive but not to live. the black lightbulb is the repression of an idea, ie, the lightbulb was created after the incident. but sure, white space can exist without the lightbulb. my question then is, why did sunny need a place to survive before then? we could say that dissociation has always been his go-to reaction in stressful situations, and that’s why. but he was also in white space long enough to get bored of it, enough to conjure headspace.
we have a few vague clues that sunny & mari’s home life could have been bad, but nothing concrete. and personally, i’m of the opinion that his life being more or less ideal to begin with enhances the tragedy of the story (as well as him and basil having opposite tragedies, as i saw someone else point out — sunny’s being that he was already very much loved & cared for, so it’s worse when it’s taken away, basil’s that he never had that in the first place), but i guess that’s up to interpretation. other than home life issues then, just the stress of the violin? general developmental issues? depression? something else?
i’d be super curious to hear what you think (again, if you have the time)… thank you! :)
Hi there! Sorry about how long this took me, I've had a lot going on + I actually wrote a whole long response that took me like a week of on and off working, and then I accidentally shut off my computer and lost the whole thing :(
I want to start this off with a couple disclaimers: Omori intentionally keeps its timeline close to its chest (presumably to add to the game's feelings of unease and the mystery of it all) AND we see evidence throughout the game that during Omori's long development cycle, it saw multiple changes to its story that ultimately makes the game's timeline a little inconsistent in a way that doesn't really matter.
I think I don't really have to explain the first point to you, but it will be relevant when talking about Headspace, because the game doesn't even commit to Headspace being purely a dream, as there are plenty of indications throughout it that it could be something a bit more supernatural.
However, I do want to elaborate on my second point there, mostly because this is something that I've wanted to talk about for awhile, and what better time to bring it up than when we are talking about the timeline! So:
How Old is Hero Omori?
Tumblr media
I swear this is an actually interesting question
It might seem silly to ask this, considering the game actually tells us how old he is in Headspace, but stick with me.
Tumblr media
Based on this line, Hero (and presumably Mari) are 15 pre-canon, while the rest of the group turns 12 during the year of the album (except Kel, who would've turned 12 prior to Basil getting the album).
So let's take the time skip into account. When we first meet real world Aubrey, she says this:
Tumblr media
After this point, the game tends to stick to the time skip being four years whenever it comes up. But this isn't technically true! Even accounting for the months after the incident that Sunny continued going outside for, the incident happened in October, while Sunny comes out again during the summer. Most likely, we're actually looking at around 3 and a half years, with Sunny coming back outside the summer that he would turn 16. Since we are presumably at the beginning of the summer, with Hero just now coming home from college, Sunny would actually be 15, at least during the main portion of the game, though once he's in the hospital, it appears some time has passed so that school has now started back up.
Why does this matter? Well, based on this timeline with Hero being 15 in the photo album, he should have turned 19 the January prior to the game's main events, and this is what most people see as canon. However, within the United States, most people, unless they graduate early or late, will leave High School the year they turn 18, meaning most people turn 19 during their first year at college (if they attend).
At first glance, this doesn't seem to be an issue, but we know for a fact that Hero has actually been away at college for two years, due to this interaction:
Tumblr media
This is the second summer that Hero has returned from college! He should be 20! Now Hero is a bit of an overachiever, so it is possible that what is actually happening here is that he graduated early, but I doubt that due to what we know about how Hero reacted to Mari's death.
Tumblr media
For that first year, even if Hero was technically going to school, he certainly wasn't excelling at it. By the time he gets to the state we see him in-game, he has maybe a year to a year and a half left of schooling. I'm really not sure that I can buy Hero graduating early, regardless of how well he does from that point on.
I also want to acknowledge that the game could simply take place ~4 1/2 years, rather than 3 1/2. There's no reason not to go with this, other than it would mean that the younger four are actually 17 during the game. You are free to believe this instead, but I am going to go into what I actually think is going here next.
We know that the characters got younger during development. We actually have an older version of the photo album, in which instead of saying that Sunny was turning 12, it says 13. Why did this happen?
Let's take a look at Aubrey's recollection of what happened following Mari's death:
Tumblr media
For reference, this is part of what she says at the tree stump during One Day Left.
Her words here imply that she wasn't actually aware about how bad it was for Hero, and most of the fandom typically just leaves it at that.
But that's weird, right? Look at what she says. It seems like she did HAVE a reason for why Hero wasn't available, it was just incorrect. And what's more, this is definitely how Hero would've been after his year of very much not studying. There's no reason that Aubrey would believe that Hero reacted to Mari's death in this way unless it was true, especially since it is something that would later be true.
I also want to point out that Kel's talk in the cemetery in which he tells us how Hero reacted to Mari's death is entirely optional and disconnected from the actual main story cutscenes in the real world.
To bring this full circle, I also want to point out a mechanic that was added to the game VERY late in development:
Tumblr media
You might see where I'm going with this.
Here's my theory. Originally, Hero would not have reacted to Mari's death with staying in bed for a year in a depressed state. Instead, he would've immediately become lost in his studies as a coping mechanism. However, when the team had the idea for the emotions chart, they likely realized that while happy and angry fit Kel and Aubrey's coping methods respectively quite well, Hero did not seem to fit sadness all that well at all.
In order to make Hero fit sadness, they change his story so that he stayed in a depressed state for a year, but they don't remove his original story of getting lost in his schoolwork. After all, they already had the writing and art assets finished and the game had already been in development for a long time. So instead of doing any major rewrites of the actual script, they simply add a single cutscene in the graveyard that doesn't seem to contradict anything that lets us know that this is how Hero reacted!
Then they had another problem. If Hero spent a year not caring about school, how would he have graduated on time? It would've been difficult even for an overachiever to do two years of schooling in one year. This is an easy fix as well! All you have to do is go through the very few instances of characters' ages being mentioned, and make everyone a year younger! It would've been a lot easier for Hero to catch up and excel if he had an additional year to do so after the incident with Kel! It also gives us another instance of a character getting overwhelmed and angry and pushing someone they care about, which we see multiple times! It works really well, and I like it a lot, but I haven't been able to unsee this change being made ever since the first time I thought of it. The minor line of dialogue about the hero sandwich that reveals Hero has been in college for two years would have been overlooked, since it doesn't mention his age, and likely would've been forgotten due to its unimportance. Aubrey's line, while wrong, can also still be explained away by her simply not being in the know about how Hero really reacted to Mari's death.
I'm not saying this is definitely what happened, but this theory does explain that one tiny little inconsistency that we see in the game. Could also be nothing though idk I'm not perfect
SO
The timeline of the creation of Headspace, White Space, and Black Space! The thing you actually asked about and care about!
It's a little difficult to actually place a lot of things here. Headspace is already so vague. We can use Daddy Longlegs' explanation as a general guide, but it's still difficult to figure out how it lines up with the between night cutscenes, as well as some of the other things.
What I can say is that Omocat has explained Sunny's dream worlds as a very real reaction to trauma that some people have. From this perspective, it would've always existed in some form.
In regards to the truth album line about sinking into the empty room, it's important to keep in mind that nothing there (unless I am super mistaken) implies that this is the first time that Sunny has been there, only that it is happening in that moment. In fact, I find the use of the term "sink" to be very interesting in this context, because very recently prior to the end of the photo album and the incident itself, Sunny had another very traumatic experience when he nearly drowned at the lake. This incident is also very important because many of the traumas that we see from Sunny in game come from this incident. He is still extremely scared of heights, spiders, and drowning by the time the game happens. I don't think it is out of the realm of possibility that White Space was initially created as a response to that, assuming that it didn't already exist for Sunny's entire life.
Next! Headspace, as I understand it, refers specifically to the dream world that Sunny created by merging a bunch of different dream worlds together in order to hide away Black Space, as told by Daddy Longlegs. What we see in the school day memory isn't Sunny exploring Headspace, rather it is just establishing that Sunny has always had a creative and wandering mind, which is why he was able to create Headspace as a coping method in the first place.
The "you've been living here for as long as you can remember" line can also mean many things! It can refer to Omori, as you said, or it could refer to Sunny always having White Space to some extent, OR (and I find this to be the most likely answer) that regardless of how long Sunny has actually had White Space, his repression of ALL his memories both the good and the bad mean that this is literally all he can remember!
All of this is to say: I don't really know. I'm really sorry about that, I've typed this up multiple times trying to come up with a satisfying timeline that I can actually point at evidence for. I believe that Sunny probably had access to White Space before the incident itself, but Headspace probably only became necessary to form out of his different dreamworlds and fantasies after the incident. He was always creative, so he always had creative dreams, but Headspace itself was almost assuredly a post-incident creation.
I apologize that this probably wasn't the answer you were looking for. There might be an answer in there somewhere, but I hope I've shown here how trying to come up with a definitive timeline for Omori can create issues.

What were the reactions of the toys in the town. Like the prototype, Mommy Longlegs, Boxy-boo, Ms.Delight, the orphans, and the mini toys, and the mini Smiling Creatures. to Angel living in the town.
P.s. I like to head cannon that the Prototype told Bobby to have a town meeting to introduce Angle to most of the toys/ tell that they have a new resident in there town. So that non of the toys that go on patrol got attack Angel.
Part two of the story is in the making
Mhh i still haven’t thought that far, but they would be skeptical of angel at first, sure there are some humans living in their little town, but most of them are the orphans they once took care of.
Mommy long legs would be distant at first and would sometimes stare at angel. But thanks to daddy long legs and baby long legs, they were able to convince mommy, that angel was not going to take the children. (It was because Angel was always good with the children, so mommy had this one sided rivalry with them “just for fun.” She said) there was one time where angel and mommy was in the school as the special guests, and mommy wanted to compete with angel, mommy outdid herself, and angel played along, considering themself the loser.
The orphans love to play with angel, they have competitions who could annoy angel the most. No one is winning tho, except for catnap..
At that point, mommy would sometimes join in angel, kissy and poppy’s hang out, when she is not busy babysitting.
The miss delights are very welcoming! When they saw how good angel was with the kids, they are very grateful for all the help angel gives, considering how some of the kids are very rumbustious. All of the miss delight looked identical, so angel, gave them different colored ribbon. They still sometimes mistake who is who, but the miss delights are not offended.
The Miss delights teaches English, math, science, literature, social study, art, music and more and one of the smiling critters join some of the subjects.
Boxy boo is always hidden somewhere around their town and avoids angel. It was because of the prototype's order. But maybe one day, angel might encounter him.
The mini smiling critters live in the school's nap room, it's a room where children rest in the afternoon, ether accompanied by the teaches or the mini critters. They like to swarm angel a lot.(this is before the nightmares. after the nightmare, angel hesitates to come near them.)
And for the mini toys, they tend to ask angel, what is outside the town, since they will be mistaken as normal toys, they are told to never leave. They love to listen to all of angels stories, whether it's real or not. The mini toys are more like kids than the bigger bodies.
And last the prototype, ".-.. .. - - .-.. . / .- -. --. . .-.. / .- / -.-. .- -. ...- .- ... --..-- / -... ..- - / .--. .- .. -. - . -.. / .-- .. - .... / -. --- / -... .-. ..- ... .... .-.-.- / -.-- --- ..- / -.-. .- .--. - ..- .-. . / -- --- -- . -. - ... --..-- / .. -. / .- / ... .. .-.. . -. - / ..-. .-.. . . - .. -. --. / .-. ..- ... .... .-.-.- / .-- .... .- - / .- .-. . / -.-- --- ..- ..--.." they seem curious about you.

Here is My Two design,I wanted him to be more of a living morale on Body Dysmorphia as having the scarring being what made him the monster he is today takes away the responsibility from him becoming TwoFace. I made him a plastic surgeon too and based him off of Longlegs.
for a very long time I’ve been obsessed with making Two Face’s deformed side his own doing due to excess botched plastic surgery. I feel it adds more to his obsession with fate and his image
Having his “normal” side being the one that was scarred and the one he thinks is ugly is another point of contention. The more he “fixed” his right side the more repulsed people became,so he did more work on it until he became the man he is today.
Which is even more ironic since he could easily fix up his left side if not his volitile nature.

LONGLEGS (2024) SENTENCE STARTERS
❛ There she is, the Almost Birthday Girl. ❜
❛ That kid smelled like narcotics. ❜
❛ Just relax. I'll go take a look. All right? ❜
❛ Half-psychic is better than not psychic at all, I'd say. ❜
❛ You can read about it in the file. ❜
❛ I'm telling you, she's not ready for this. ❜
❛ It's hard to explain. It's like something tapping me on the shoulder, telling me where to look. ❜
❛ Anything like that ever happen to you before? ❜
❛ Well, maybe we'll just call you "highly intuitive". ❜
❛ You know, there's such a thing as looking too long. ❜
❛ I must have lost track of time. ❜
❛ You didn't call to say goodnight. ❜
❛ Even veals grow a little. ❜
❛ Is it scary being a lady FBI agent? ❜
❛ Do you have to let the phone ring so long? ❜
❛ I'm okay. I just can't sleep. A lot on my mind. ❜
❛ Somebody's birthday's coming up. ❜
❛ Still your only daughter. ❜
❛ I don't think the Bureau has a division for nice things. ❜
❛ Are you still saying your prayers? ❜
❛ Xs mark the spot. ❜
❛ I know you're not afraid of a little bit of dark...because you are the dark. ❜
❛ I don't know what that was supposed to be. ❜
❛ I've seen you before, ain't I? ❜
❛ Gosh, I don't ever wanna forget him. ❜
❛ If'n he told me to kill you right-right here in this room with my bare hand, I'd surely do. ❜
❛ Just happy as peaches to watch your heavy heart go pop-pop, and your eyeses to go all to blood. ❜
❛ Yeah, that couldn't be anything but a coincidence. ❜
❛ [name] is just a man, not a witch doctor. ❜
❛ What aren't you telling me? ❜
❛ I never said my prayers, never once. They scared me. ❜
❛ All our prayers don't help us. Prayers don't do a goddamn thing. ❜
❛ I can't believe it's gonna be your birthday again so soon. ❜
❛ What a day that was. I bled...bled... bled...bled… ❜
❛ No one ever came to visit us. Not any family. No strangers. No big, bad wolves. No anybody. ❜
❛ But these are things a little girl shouldn't know. ❜
❛ I'm not a child anymore. ❜
❛ You're not a child because you were allowed to grow up. ❜
❛ This is a cruel world. Especially for the little things. Not all of them are allowed to live. ❜
❛ I might have forgotten everything I possibly could, for both of our sakes, but I never threw anything away. ❜
❛ You really don't remember this guy? ❜
❛ You sure you wanna start a manhunt with this? ❜
❛ I mean, he worships the Devil, that's for sure, but in the United States of America, he's allowed to do that. ❜
❛ I'm more concerned about the fact that he knows who you are. ❜
❛ He's downstairs. Right under your feet. ❜
❛ I'm a friend of a friend. ❜
❛ We had such a big laugh about it. Although, it was only me who laughed, not she.❜
❛ You don't work alone, do you? Someone's been helping you. ❜
❛ I knew then that the work we were doing was immaculate. ❜
❛ But your work's over. It's done, and you're gonna be in here for the rest of your life. ❜
❛ Well...I'll let you get started now. ❜
❛ Hail Satan. ❜
❛ We had the guy, and now we got nothing! ❜
❛ You didn't have to come with me. ❜
❛ I wasn't gonna let you drive after what you saw today. ❜
❛ It's okay. It's...it's done now. ❜
❛ You could've made nice with me, but you didn't...and now that has led to all of this. ❜
❛ That was the deal that she made. ❜
❛ Why are you doing this? ❜
❛ If they don't die, then we will burn...and twist, and burn, and twist, in hell, forever and ever. ❜
❛ I'm doing this for you just like I've always done. ❜
