It's funny because they have a history together and this is most likely not the first time he said something stupid, only now reader isn't even playfully angry, reader is just purely annoyed

Maybe reader found it kinda funny before, but a lot can change in years, and it was probably only then did that sink in to the poor skeleman

Won't be the last time we'll see of him though. He messed up big time before, but he'll do better now. Fingers crossed he'll get reader back.
