as a painter, rafayel is, naturally, drawn to the whole figure - he’d say things such as “the body can show what words don’t speak” and such.

in the past he’s dabbled in figure painting, after all he is an artist at heart - he had to try everything - but he found that overall he much rather paint sceneries and landscapes. he just saw no appeal in the human body, it was all rather dull in comparison to the beauty nature held.

that was, of course, before he met you. ,and, well, every since then he found it difficult to paint anyone, anything, that didn’t include any aspect of you. from the exact hues of your eyes to the supple red of your lips after you two kiss, rafayel would incorporate your essence into any painting of his.

so it’s obvious that he loves your body, he loves every inch, but what was his favourite?

well… rafayel is obsessed with your hands… like so obsessed it’s insane. always wanting to hold them, kiss them, caress them, everything.

feeling your skin on his, no matter if your hands are soft or rough, large or small, fingers are long or thinner, he just loves the intimacy of intertwining his fingers with yours.

sometimes you can feel his gaze on you when you fiddle with them, if you run them through your hair or finger as a loose thread in your clothing - his eyes are fondly observing your every move.

if you ask what his obsession with hands were, he’d deny any specific attraction to them

“Hands? They’re just like any other body part.”

but then you ask specifically, what’s the obsession with your hands, and then his ears are turning red.

“Y-your hands? Nothing, no- I do not have an obsession with your hands…”

but then you grasp his chin, tilt his face up and trail a finger along his jaw and he’s shivering, flinching deliciously to your touch

tease him for it and he’ll get flustered - frowning but not denying anything at this point, because your finger is now trailing down his neck and gently brushing against his collar bones.

of course, his affinity for your hands can be exploited.

for example, when rafayel ignores you for sustained periods of time working on a painting.

“Wait a second, I’m painting.” and you get sick of waiting, so you decide to toy with him a little

he’s so engrossed in painting he doesn’t even notice you creeping up behind him, he doesn’t notice you until your hands are sneaking around his small waist, moving forwards until you’re toying with the buttons on the front of his shirt.

his small yelp of surprise is adorable, and the red that creeps up his neck to his ears is beautiful - you can tell his attention is now narrowed in on the way your fingers creep through the gaps in his shirt and your nails gently scratch at his abdomen

you can hear his breathing stutter and his heartbeat quicken, and if you turn him around to face you - well you don’t need to be a mind reader to tell what he was thinking when you looked at the tent growing downstairs…

“Please… I won’t ignore you I promise… so please keep touching me.”

we all know xavier can’t keep his hands off you, from purposefully pulling you a little too close to him when a wanderer seems too angry to cuddling into your chest when taking a nap.

he’s sly, sly like a little minx, and he knows exactly how to tease you.

with this in mind, his favourite part of your body is your neck - just like how his neck is his weak-spot

he is a very possessive man, and god does he love acting on it to prove to the world that you’re his (though with the glares he gives other men/women, I don’t really think he needs to make any other point that man is terrifying when he is jealous)

he shows his love by literally devouring your neck, sucking hickeys and giving little love bites all over your neck - if you tell him to stop he’ll definitely be giving you a petulant pout.

xavier just loves the fact that he’s the only one allowed to touch you there, that he’s the only one that’s allowed to nibble at your sensitive neck - the most vulnerable part of your body. the control he has over that area of your skin drives him NUTS

like seriously, you two will be making out (see this post for the lnd boys giving first kisses teehee) and all of a sudden he’s lunging at your neck and kissing it like there’s no tomorrow - all whilst sporting red ears and furrowed eyebrows.

xavier looks so concentrated, really dedicating all of his energy into making sure everyone knows you are his. also trying to focus the blood anywhere but south LMAO

by the way, you can exploit this by purposefully wearing low-cut v-necks, exposing your neck all for xavier.

even the opposite can work… wearing turtle necks or scarves, restricting his access when making out can get him riled up

one time he almost ripped your turtle neck with how far he was tugging it down so he could suck at your collar bones…

one time you and xavier went on a mission where you dressed undercover as a rich couple and went to a masquerade ball

when you and xavier split up, a man that you recognised as your ‘neighbour’ - who lived in the apartment next to the one you and xavier rented - approached you and started up a conversation - to be honest it wasn’t exactly flirtatious nor suggestive but you suddenly found yourself being yanked back into a solid chest

when you looked up you could see the seething possessiveness that simmered in xavier’s irises, and his grip on your waist was tight.

“Are you okay, dear? Is this man bothering you?”

his voice is much, much colder than you’ve ever heard it before, and there’s an edge to it that was so un-xavier like.

needless to say, the man scurried off as fast as possible

that night… well xavier made sure to pretty up your neck in lovely blotches of purpled-pinks…

his tongue is surprisingly skilled, swirling and caressing your sensitive skin in sensual patterns…

the next morning when you accidentally bumped into the man from the night before, you could definitely feel a sense of smug satisfaction come from xavier as the man’s eyes widened upon seeing your marked up neck

“What? I didn’t mean to… I just got carried away.”

zayne is a gentle-man, and his pure and innocent answer would be your eyes, and it’s not wrong. he loves gazing into your eyes - even though he doesn’t like it when you reciprocate the action.

whenever you’re lost in thought, or gazing into the distance, he finds himself searching your irises, or losing himself in your pupils.

but, if we really unveil dr zayne’s thoughts… he really loves your lips

like of course there’s the romantic and thoughtful side to it, he loves the little quirks and silent give-aways your lips can tell, such as the way they twitch a little when you lie or the way they look when you smile

he loves how you sometimes nibble on the bottom lip when deep in thought, and finds it especially cute when you sulk when he acts clueless to your flirtation

he especially loves, however, the way they glisten after you lick your lips with your soft tongue… or after he’s done having his way with you…

zayne loves when they turn swollen after a long make out session, or the way they pout when he teases you - leaning in for a kiss only to pull away and tuck some hair behind your ear

he loves the way your lips change colours, shades and hues, on warmer days they look velvety and on cooler days they’re more dry, and when he’s nipping at your bottom lip and kissing you deeply they turn a richer, more sensational shade of red…

sometimes he enjoys just watching you eat, seeing your mouth relax into a satisfied smile as you greedily swallow up your favourite dish

you can, obviously, use this to your advantage.

when he’s talking all mr professional-cold-hearted zayne mode, just draw attention to your mouth, whether it be by wetting your lips or by bitting your bottom lip, it’ll almost definitely cause him to hesitate

“…concerning your heart medication…” and then he drifts off ever so slightly before continuing his tangent on your health. it’s not a huge pause but coming from dr zayne? ANY sign of hesitation is a huge thing!

and sometimes, well he enjoys a little bit more…

the first time you really acknowledge his thing for your lips was when you two were out on a little date.

summer was at its peak and it was fucking boiling, even with your walking AC unit - dr zayne - it was still way too hot to handle

in response, you and zayne decide to take a trip to the local ice-cream parlour - he orders some form of ice drink - not too sweet - with whipped cream, whilst you order your favourite.

at one point - one thing led to another - and zayne ends up with some cream on his finger… and fuck if you were going to let this opportunity pass…

you grabbed his hand just before he could protest and took the tip of his finger in your mouth, wrapping your lips around him and gently sucking off the cream.

needless to say his rationality was lost, the only thought in his brain dissolved into the carnal need to claim you.

you can literally see the moment in his eyes, from confused to extremely, whole-heartedly, soulfully, biblically aroused - it’s actually a spectacle to observe

needless to say he took you to your apartment within the next 30 minutes and let’s just say… you didn’t get a good night’s sleep LOL

and god if you bend over in front of him he’s going to be walking up behind you and observing very… very closely - at what you’re doing of course..

Hello there! I’m relatively new to the fandom of LADS and really enjoy how you write for them! It’s all very accurate and spot on for every one of them and I love it! I was wondering if you could do headcanons for the LADS men with a s/o who has ADHD? (This may or may not be more self indulgent on my part lol).

Like they are talkative and loudish, energetic/hyperactive, and like to have a lot of fun or relax at home, and like to spend time with their friends, or spend time alone by themselves.

But they also have trouble starting tasks (cleaning their room or putting laundry away), they forget to eat or care for themselves, they get distracted or fail to do a task and feel like a failure, overthink constantly, or have obsessive thoughts about certain things, and sometimes have difficulty regulating their emotions.

If you don’t feel comfortable writing something like that, that is totally fine! I just wanna see how each guy would handle the ups and down of a s/o that struggles with adhd, since it’s not just the happy talkative side, it’s also the ��has a todo list and does nothing and feels terrible” side as well.

• assures you that one failure, one bad thought doesn’t define you. you are more than your mind, and more than your shortcomings

Sylus

• finds your spikes in energy endearing. he’s quick to offer a ride on his motorcycle when you need to get out of the house

• when you need a lazy day, he’ll happily oblige. he’ll put on one of his records and lay around with you all day

• he’ll listen to you ramble about your interests, asking you specific questions about them just to hear you get more excited

• when you’re feeling scattered, he’ll help you slow down. he’ll encourage you to voice everything going on in your head, then help you organize them in a way that makes them less daunting

• he’s perfectly content being in the same room but doing different things. he’ll do some work or clean one of his guns as you’re doing something else. as long as he’s near you, he’s happy

• in my personal opinion, he’s the best match for someone with ADHD. high energy? he’s all over it. feeling tired? no problem, pillow fort incoming. special interests? he’s just as into it as you are. feeling down? not on his watch

• if you have a long to-do list and can’t seem to get started, he’ll handle as many things as he can. laundry? done. cleaning? done. cooking? done. you just worry about your top priorities.

• if you’re overthinking, he’s quick to offer any reassurance he can. you’re everything to him, he can’t imagine you thinking any less of yourself

• he’ll offer to help you do your work, whatever it may be. he may not know the ins and outs of it, but he’s sure he can figure it out if it means helping you finish it

Fluff:

Would never admit out loud, but he likes to be embraced. It makes him feel more in control of his thoughts and emotions.

Was pleasantly surprised at Ax’s sense of humor. The first time they laughed at one of his weird jokes, the sound of their laughter… caught him off guard… and he wanted to hear it more.

He used to call them “Frills” or “Axxy” in a condescending way, but now calls them that affectionately.

Loves to look at Ax’s starry eyes.

He used to find Ax's voice terrifying at first, but soothing later on.

Angst:

He genuinely thought Ax was going to either let him die or revive him just to kill him again. He believes he is unredeemable, and that Ax made a mistake by saving him and letting him live.

Bill doesn't know of Ax’s dark past. Everything involving that time happened before he was even born. As far as he knows, Ax has always been this goody-two-shoes, preachy know-it-all since the beginning.

Prone to self harm when stressed (Ripping out eyelashes, and damaging his eyelids via, scratching, picking, pulling, etc.)

After an especially bad episode, he is uncomfortable by the sight of his own reflection.

Genuinely has no idea how or why The Axolotl fell in love with his headass. He thought at first that Ax was playing a cruel joke on him.

Is upset by the fact that Bill was terrified of them. Ax doesn’t want to be seen as terrifying at all.

When their chest is exposed in the air, they wrap their arms around it by habit. They have a visceral reaction if someone touches their chest or tries to restrain their limbs.

Understands Bill’s pain quite well.

A very long time ago, they cried so hard, their eyes fell out. They regenerated after.

May or may not has erased their own memories a few times before.

Wants to tell Bill of their past, but doesn’t know if they should.

Had a twin and Had someone they loved dearly. Someone they used to call “Their little bunny.” Ax would do anything to hold them again, even if just one last time. A time wish cannot bring them back.

Bill’s humor and his more harmless shenanigans reminds them of “Their Bunny.”

Their name is actually pronounced a-sho-loht, but they’d rather separate themselves from that name.

Extras:

Bill’s petty insults do not upset Ax. They have better shit to worry about lol.

Ax can speak every language. Their native tongue is Nahuatl but written in the theraprism’s cryptogram alphabet. (Idk what that specific cryptogram is called smh.)

Ax wouldn’t speak Bill’s native tongue (the color code) in front of him.

Bill’s and Ax’s encounter after his deletion was… emotionally charged, specially for Bill.

Ax’s voice is similar to Satan’s from Adventures of Mark Twain, but less sinister sounding. A male and a female voice overlapping each other, so gender ✨️

Ax was unaware of a lot of the things that went on the Therapism. Something or someone found a loophole to The Axolotl’s all seeing eyes.

Ax does NOT like their gills being touched at all. Bill learnt that the hard way.

Ax can also read people's minds but avoids to do so. They find it distasteful. (They still detect lies all the time though.)

My "Choices" Sims-ematic Universe

Many years ago, my friend got me into the app "Choices", which is one of those apps were you play through choose-your-own-adventure stories. Pixelberry's quality has decreased drastically in recent years but I'm still a big fan of their older works. I'm also a big fan of the Sims and CAS so over the years, I've grown a collection of Choices characters remade as Sims which I lovingly call my "Choices Cinematic Universe" (you know...like the marvel cinematic universe...) because they're all living in one save lmao.

I didn't think I would ever share these Sims here but people actually noticed I used Blades of Light and Shadow for the promo of this posepack and the lovely @simsillagrim asked me to share my other Choices Sims sooo here they are!

I didn't always make the whole cast of a book because, well, I only made my favourites lol. Some of these are from 2019 and some were made in the last year so the quality and likeness varies a LOT. I never said I was good at this. 😂 I'm also weird and couldn't decide whether to add MC, the default names or my own so expect a mix of all lmaoo.

Another important note is that 95% of the "It Lives" Sims were NOT made by me. They're made by the AMAZING @alltimefail-sims. I'll explain more when we get to them.

ANYWAY, let's finally start:

I think these were some of if not THE first Sims I made. You can tell by the kind of clothes I chose for some of them 💀 although I did slightly update them for this post. I only made my LIs and Diego & Varyyn because they're one of my favorite choices couples ever.

I cannot tell you how MANY times I've changed Edward. There's something about his face that I just cannot get right. 😭 I do like how my MC looks though. I'll forever mourn this book, it deserved a sequel. :((

Made them around the time I bought Horse Ranch bc duh. BSC was such a silly book, I loved it. And yes, I accidentally called my MC like a character in the book. It was hilarious.

The most recent addition to the CCU! And a joint effort between me and my friend @thatwinglessthing, and by that I mean they did all the work and I just tweaked things on Donovan a little. 🤣 And made my MC of course.

To prevent this post from becoming too long, I won't list every picture individually. Shreya and my MC are almost as old as the ES Sims I think. I've always wanted to make the rest of the Pend Pals but never really got around to it. Ironically, Shreya wasn't even my LI, it was Beckett. 😂 Nik & MC are fairly new and I'm quite proud of Nik tbh.

Random combo but we're nearing the end of the smaller groups haha. Guinevere is still missing her Lancelot, I honestly don't know why I still haven't made her. 😔 I'm super proud of the ROD Sims tbh, especially Mona. They were fairly easy, too. On the other hand, I struggled with TCH, especially Jack. 😭 I LOVE his canon ouftit but I just couldn't get anything remotely close and at one point I just gave up lmao. I do like Kieran's outift though.

Alright, now we're entering It Lives territory. 😂 As I've mentioned before, a huge thanks goes to @alltimefail-sims who made ALL of the It Lives characters and gave them away for free!! I marked it in the pictures as well but every Sim except MC, Noah and Jane were made by them!! And yes, I made an adult Jane. 💔 Her design as well as some of the others are based on the characters' looks in ILW instead of Woods bc that's basically the canon time in my CCU. It's only very slightly visible in the Noah/Jane photo and later in the ILW photos but I even built the cabin where most of Within is set in because I have problems. 😂 If you wanna see that too, let me know! I'm actually quite proud of it haha.

Listen, I know Parker is missing.....but I just do not like him. 😂 Or at least I didn't care about him enough to put him in my game. There are countless other characters who deserve to be added to the CCU before Parker LMAO.

And we conclude the It Lives section with the Within crew! One could also say the founders of this little project as I've made Choices Sims before but it wasn't until I added all the It Lives Sims to my game that I actually made a save file and started playing with them. 😅 MC #2 is missing their blind eye (where the scar is) because I just cannot find any CC for a blind eye on that side, it's always either the other or both eyes?? Technically, they should have 2 cyan eyes as well as they're my Shadow Rowan buut. I wanted to keep the heterochromia.

Annnd last but certainly not least the Sims that started this post. 😂 Technically, you've seen them (minus Kade) before but this list felt unfinished without them soo, here are the Blades Sims again. 😂 Nia and Valax are definitely my favorites, I think they turned out really good and Nia's outift is just PERFECT. They're all a mix of their book 1 & 2 outifts because I did try to make book 3 outfits as well but failed miserably. 💀 So I just chose those I could remake the best. Except Kade because he deserves a cool outift too and not just the same fit for all 3 books. 😭

And that concludes this massive list. 😂 I haven't made new Sims in a while but I definitely wanna keep adding to this save. I'm not sure if anyone out there will ever see this AND read everything but if you did: thank you! And I hope you enjoyed this little insight on my mediocre CAS skills. 😆

I finally left the room. Bull and I talked for hours laying together on his bed. I looked at the time it was four in the morning, I knew I had to leave before everyone else got up. It wouldn’t be a good look sneaking out the Seargents room in the early hours of the morning, looking freshly fucked. 

“I have to go.” I whispered trying to get out of bed, Bull pulled me back down onto the bed kissing me gently on the lips. I groaned in frustration, he was making it very hard to leave, and he knew it. He watched me intently as I got dressed again, laughing at me as I scoured around for where I had thrown my bra. He was enjoying the show. 

I waved goodbye sneaking out of the room, closing the door quietly behind me. I walked down the hall, the realisation of what just happened hitting me. I couldn’t help but grin, I skipped down to my room. I shut the door behind me, flopping down onto my bed. I glanced at the time, “Ugh I have to be up in 3 hours.” It was a later start on the Saturday but we still had duties to attend even if there was nothing to do here in Austria. We were still waiting for the German army to surrender, but even then we weren’t set on going home after that, they were still fighting over in the Pacific. I fell fast asleep under my covers being so tired from the events prior. 

My alarm blared next to me, I groaned rolling over wrapping my pillow around my head to block out the annoying noise. I sat up smacking the clock off.  A knock rapped on my door, George didn’t wait to be invited in, waltzing into the room and shutting the door behind him. He flopped down onto the bed next to me. 

“We gotta get up, Y/N.” He moaned into the pillow, I peeked my eye open at him, he looked like a bus had hit him. His hair all tousled and dark circles under his eyes. 

“No.” I mumble into the pillow, pulling the covers over my head. He pulled them back down inspecting my face.  

“Why do you look so tired, you barely drunk anything?” He squinted at me. 

“I didn’t get to bed till late. Do we have to get up?” I asked, enjoying the warmth under the blanket. I was so cosy I didn't want to leave my little nest I had made.

He raised his head from the pillow scanning my features, his brows furrowed together in concentration. “What do you mean, you didn’t get to bed till late? We got home at the same time. You and Bull put me to bed. You and Bull. YOU AND BULL!” I flinched away from the man as he pounced on top of me pinning me to the bed. 

“Shhh, George!” I said trying to cover his mouth which hung open. 

“I just didn’t sleep well is all.” I lied, pushing him off of me. I threw the covers back, hastily getting changed into my uniform while George looked at me, I could see from here the cogs turning in his brain. 

“Stop thinking so much, you’ll hurt yourself.” I threw the pillow that had fallen off the bed at his face.

We walked down the hall together, “So nothing happened last night?” George asked for the umpteenth time. 

“George, would you quit it! I told you. After I put you to bed, Bull and I had a drink and then we parted ways.” He looked at me suspiciously, still not believing the story I had told him.

We made it to the mess hall in time for breakfast, standing in line for our food. Luz spoke cheerily with the other men, seemingly forgetting about the terrible hangover he had. I grabbed a few things off the table that had been prepared, popping them on my plate. My eyes constantly flitted to the door waiting for Bull to walk in. Even though I had only seen him a couple hours ago, I desperately wanted to see him again. Send him a little smile or wink as he walks in. A look that we shared that no one else knew but us. 

I sat down at the table with the rest of the Easy men joining George and I. They all chatted as I nibbled, patiently waiting for Bull to arrive. But he never did, his tall frame never coming into view. He had missed breakfast all together.

“Hey little bird!” George snapped his fingers in front of my face, pulling me from my focus on the door. I looked at him, confusion on my face.

“We are leaving, come on!” George said as I looked around the table we were the only ones left there. 

“Why did you call me little bird?” I asked standing, following George with my plate and putting it on the counter to be returned. 

“Cause you were nibbling on one piece of toast all of breakfast like a little bird.” George said over his shoulder as we walked out of the mess hall. I sighed trailing behind. I had wanted to see Bull so bad, but I know he’s a busy man.

We walked through the buildings, I walked behind George sighing loudly and scraping my feet. George walked briskly ahead, only turning around occasionally to check I was still meandering behind him. Another sigh left my mouth but it was quickly stopped as my arm swinging by my side was snatched up swiftly. My eyes widened as I went to scream, but a large hand covered my mouth stopping any noise from leaving my throat. I was dragged behind one of the walls of the houses we were walking through. I struggled tirelessly against the firm hold that had me, with no success. This person who had me was very much stronger and bigger than me.  

“Easy there!” The warm timbre of the voice stilled me. I knew that voice anywhere. His hands set me free as soon as I stopped struggling. I swung around to face Bull. I crossed my arms over my chest trying to appear annoyed, but the grin on my face gave me away. 

“What on earth are you doing, Bull?” I asked him. He grinned down at me. 

“Come with me.” He replied, gently taking my hand in his leading me away. 

“Where?” I queried, but I let him take me. I held onto his hand following behind my question still left unanswered. All he did was smile at me, his face beamed with excitement. 

We walked for a bit, leaving the buildings behind we were staying in. He walked us onto a gravel road in between rolling fields. We walked all the way down the road, hand in hand, enjoying the scenery. We finally came to a stop under a tall tree, its branches so wide and thick it shaded us from the hot sun. 

“Are we here? Is this it?” I asked again. Bull nodded, hopping the wooden fence with ease. 

“Bull! What are you doing?” I asked in a hushed voice even though no one else was around to hear us. We hadn’t seen people since we had left the town. 

“Come on, it's this way.” He held out his hand for me to help me climb over the fence. I stepped from one foot to the other, looking around to see if we would get caught. 

“You trust me don’t you?” He said hand still reaching out for me. I sighed nodding, I did trust him. I climbed over the fence, Bull lifting me off the other side, once I had reached the top, and placing me gently on the ground. We walked into the field, the edges lined with pine trees. It seemed to sprawl for miles, filled with lush green grass and patches of wildflowers and trees here and there. 

I watched as Bull placed his thumb and index finger in his mouth in a ‘o’ shape. I tilted my head curiously, but soon figured out what he was doing, when a loud whistle left his lips. I stared at him as he swung around sending me a wink. I heard the sound of heavy footfalls racing towards us. There in the distance a horse sprinted towards us. It nickered and whinnied as it ran. It arrived stopping right in front of Bull. It pushed its head into him, as he lifted his hand to pat it. 

“Come on over, he’s not scary.” Bull beckoned me over, as I stood wearily to the side. I moved closer, reaching out for the horse to smell me. He snorted softly pushing his head against my hand as I stroked the bridge of his nose. 

“I don’t know what his real name is but I call him Randy.” He told me. I couldn’t help the laugh that left my lips. 

“What?” He asked, looking confused.    

“Randy, I love it!” I laughed more, hiding my chuckles behind my hand. 

“Well it’s Sir Randy to you, if you’re going to take that attitude!” He said with a serious tone. I couldn’t help but throw my head back in laughter at his antics.  

“Hello Randy.” I cooed as I patted the horse. I watched Bull raise one eyebrow, not looking impressed. 

“My deepest apologies, Sir Randy.” I bowed deeply to the horse to show my respect for his title. Now it was Bull’s turn to laugh as he watched me. 

“Alright, you ready?” Bull asked, I looked at him puzzled. We hadn't been here more than five minutes and he was ready to leave. 

“Are we going already? I asked, a pout on my lips. I didn’t want to go just yet. Bull smiled walking towards me. His arms wrapped me in a tight hug, as he pressed a kiss to the top of my head. I rested my head on his chest looking up at him. Bull’s head dipped down, his lips finding mine. He kissed me softly, letting the touch linger before pulling away.  

“You’re so cute.” He hummed lowly in my ear, sending butterflies swirling in my stomach. 

“No we aren’t leaving. We’re going for a ride!” Bull beamed down at me, my brows knitted together as I pieced it all together in my head. 

“We’re riding Randy?” I asked. He nodded. My eyes widened. “I haven’t ridden a horse before! Also whose horse is this? Are we allowed?” The questions tumbled from my lips in quick succession. 

“Yes we are riding Randy. It’s fine the owner will never know. And who cares if we are allowed or not, it’s fun.” Bull moved away walking back over to the horse, patting Randy on his back. The horse snorted in response. Bull turned back and looked at me, “Plus I have seen how you ride, you’ll be fine.” He sent me a cheeky wink. My cheeks flushed pink, a giggle leaving my mouth. 

“You’re up first.” Bull said to me as I made my way over. Bull clasped his hands together for me to step into, he boosted me up onto the horse. I sat on Randy’s back, feeling unsteady since there was no saddle for me to sit in. 

“Can you ride bareback?” I asked, looking down at him. Bull grinned, sending me a wink.

“Not like that!” I swatted at him with my hand, but he dodged me easily.   

“Yeah. I used to ride bareback all the time, back at the farm.” He said as he hoisted himself up onto the horse, his large frame sitting in front of me. I wrapped my arms around his waist, leaning my head into his back. 

Bull clicked his tongue nudging Randy in the side. The horse snorted and started walking forward. 

“Where are you going to take me?” I asked from behind him, craning my neck up to see over his shoulder. But his torso being so much longer than mine made the task difficult. I opted to look out at the side view, since I couldn’t see a thing in front of me. 

“Well I saw this nice creek, looked good for a dip.” Bull said in his country drawl. I didn’t have time to react to his comment, before he kicked the horse in the side. 

“Heyah!” He yelled, Randy took off in a sprint. I yelped in surprise, holding on tightly to Bull. Randy cantered through the field leading us to a gate, we passed through it quickly. I was trying to admire the view but it all just blurred past due to the speed at which we were going. I held on for dear life, but felt safe with Bull handling the horse. 

We finally reached the small creek, willow trees swayed in the breeze, their long branches reaching down and touching the water. 

“Oh, Bull, this is stunning.” I said, casting my gaze around at the scenic view. He dismounted the horse easily, landing steady footed on the ground. Before I knew it, I was being plucked off of Randy. Bull’s strong hands taking under my arms and lifting me gently to the ground. He placed me on my feet in front of him. 

I couldn’t help the smile that tugged at my lips. I leant forward, kissing him gently. But Bull seemed to have other plans, his mouth taking mine hungrily. I moaned into his mouth as he kissed me deeper. His hand finding the buttons of my top, I pulled back laughing, swatting his hands away from me.

“Hey! We can’t do it here! What if we are caught?” I blushed thinking about being caught in that certain predicament with Bull. 

“Oh no ma’am, that wasn’t my intention.” Bull grinned a cheeky smile. 

“And then tell me good sir. What was your intention?” I asked prodding his chest with my finger. Bull grabbed my wrist, pulling me in closer. 

“I was just helping you get undressed. We are going for a dip after all.” He laughed heartily, the noise sending shivers up my spine. 

“Well, last one in is a rotten egg!” I squeal, charging down the grass towards the creek. Flinging my clothes off as I went. Bull wasn’t far behind, shedding his own attire just as quickly. 

“I’ll get you, Y/N!” Bull laughed as he chased behind me. 

“I would like to see you try!” I screamed as he scooped me up in one foul swoop. 

Bull ran into the warm water, with me still in his arms half naked. I snuggled in closer to his chest. Running my hands down his torso. 

“Can we stay like this forever?” I asked, kissing him softly on the lips. 

“Always!” Bull smiled down at me, his sweet eyes creasing at the sides. His lips pressed against mine. “I promise.”

Hi, I hope it's okay to DM. I'm looking for advice while getting into the kink lifestyle/self-realization.

I'm struggling to deal with internalized shame. It's the same old struggle, I'm guessing.

Figured out I'm bi and very, very kinky late last year, kind of all at once. Suddenly liking guys as well was easier to deal with. Realizing I'm into BDSM, hypno, crossdressing, and most of the kinks on your pinned list was... hard.

Some days, I can fully feel okay, and others I feel smothered in shame and depression, like I'm not supposed to want these things. I feel like I'm intruding into a space that I don't have the right to be in.

My question is, how do you recommend new kinksters/subs/etc deal with the question and internalized shame. Or specifically feeling positive about their kinks and the changes that happen as you realize them.

Sorry for a bit of a rant, and thanks in advance if you're willing to give me some advice.

Hey there! Sorry for the SUPER late advice! I hope you're feeling better in the meantime, but if not, I can do my best to offer you 1. some advice and 2. some words of encouragement.

First of all, HELL YEAH. Welcome to the Bisexual Kinkster Club--a club you now belong to because you are kinky and bisexual! Kink rocks! Being bisexual rocks! I am giving you a welcome basket myself.

That being said though, I'm so sorry you're dealing with internalized shame around all of this :( Shame is a very personal thing and can be tricky to deal with, ESPECIALLY when parts of society are telling you the thing you like is wrong, just because they find it disgusting.

But...first of all, disgust-based morality ain't it, chief. It's a one-way ticket to being a miserable, hateful person with Main Character Syndrome and an easy target for fascism. Don't give into it! Don't listen to people who value their own disgust above the needs and happiness of others!

As long as what you are doing is not infringing on the personal rights of others, you deserve to do the things that make you happy. Full fucking stop. (And, newsflash, doing something that just happens to disgust someone is NOT infringing on their personal rights.)

Now, this might be controversial, but I'm going to let you in on a big realization that I had some time in my early 20s: shame is, in my humble opinion, a useless emotion to feel for any duration of time.

It makes you do things you don't want to do. It keeps you from doing things you DO want to do. It lies to you. It eats you alive.

More importantly, though, it's JUST an emotion, and like all emotions, its only job is to try to tell you something. Feeling emotions doesn't make you a good OR a bad person!

Of course, I'm not just telling you "lol just stop feeling things" because that's, like...not possible or healthy. BUT! You are not obligated to feel any emotion that you don't want to feel.

You might, however, want to interrogate the shame, because even if you aren't going to listen to its wishes (right???), it's worth understanding what it's trying to tell you.

So! What is the shame afraid of? What does it want to protect you from? What does it want you to do? Is what it wants you to do in line with your own goals and desires?

If you aren't in alignment with your shame, which I assume you aren't, then you can tell it that.

"I appreciate that you're trying to keep me safe, but I have no reason to be ashamed of the things I like, and I'm not going to let you stop me from enjoying them."

This might sound silly, but once you can speak frankly with your difficult emotions, it gets WAY easier to work through them. Viewing them as parts of yourself that just want to keep you safe is way easier than just dealing with nebulous shame, anger, anxiety, etc.!

And then, there's also the chance that it might be telling you something useful, once you start asking questions.

For example, if the shame is afraid that your friends might judge you, maybe you need to rethink how you navigate your friendships. If it's worried you might be going about a kink all wrong and you'll make a fool of yourself, do some research. If you're overwhelmed by the intensity of a new kink, explore it at your own pace and listen to your feelings about it with curiosity instead of judgment.

Remember: Action TOWARD a goal (in this case, pleasure and fulfillment) is always preferable to an action that AVOIDS negative feelings.

Enthusiasm and self-love are a better motivator than fear and shame. You deserve to be the best, happiest, more joyful version of yourself, and if that includes being a kinky crossdressing hypnotized bisexual, then so be it :)

Hopefully this all makes sense! And hopefully this helps you and others who might be in a similar boat.

not all of them; that's a LOT of disorders, and i'd be severely impressed if i met someone with all of them, lol. but zooming in to cluster b (as i don't feel the others fit her, but feel free to present your own evidence in the notes), i felt like both aspd and bpd fit her.

(i myself have npd, so like i promise this isn't gonna be used to demonize her)

first, let's look at aspd. the criteria are as follows:

1. failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviors as indicated by repeatedly performing acts that are grounds for arrest 2. deceitfulness, as indicated by repeated lying, use of aliases, or conning others for personal profit or pleasure 3. impulsivity or failure to plan ahead 4. irritability and aggressiveness, as indicated by repeated physical fights or assaults 5. reckless disregard for safety of self or others 6. consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations 7. lack of remorse, as indicated by being indifferent to or rationalizing having hurt, mistreated, or stolen from another. B. The individual is at least age 18 years. C. There is evidence of conduct disorder with onset before age 15 years. D. The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode.

one requires three of the one through seven list, and Peril fits 3, 4, and 7. she also might fit 1, but as the wings of fire world doesn't have strict laws, it's hard to tell. with 4, she cannot get in physical fights without severely hurting or killing her opponent, but she constantly thinks about it and has to talk herself out of it. 5 might also fit, but it's hard to hurt her, and she tries very hard not to hurt others now that she's out from under Queen Scarlet's claws.

age is weird for these guys, but i'd put her at a year older than Clay (who is like, 7 or 8 now, right?) so she is an adult by dragon standards, albeit a young adult, and these symptoms have persisted since she was very young. she also, as far as i believe, does not have schizophrenia or manic episodes, so criteron D goes out the window.

so! judging by those criteria, she has aspd. but there's more to the lived experience than that, so basing it off of what i've seen pwASPD say when they talk about their experience, let's look at what goes on inside of her head.

she consistently has to talk herself out of setting other dragons on fire, as for the vast majority of her life that has been the entire reason for her existence (quite literally; she would've been killed if Scarlet didn't want a fun new toy (ew).) she also bases her morals on what Clay would want her to do, and how he would react to her hurting someone. she also has a hard time with empathy (i would say she has none. same, Peril, same) and struggles with knowing what to say in a situation, as well as being ruthlessly practical to the point of being read as completely uncaring & still a monster (that last one is from my own experiences w aspd traits, but i feel like it fits). also, Starflight made an offhanded comment about her being a sociopath, and while that is Not Cool on his part, it does point towards her having aspd even more.

now! bpd time. the symptoms are as follows:

1. Fear of abandonment

2. Unstable or changing relationships

3. Unstable self-image; struggles with identity or sense of self

4. Impulsive or self-damaging behaviors (e.g., excessive spending, unsafe sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating).

3 (if i remember correctly she outright thinks "who am i when i'm not killing other dragons?" as well as struggling for the whole of her book and probably both before it and after it with being Scarlet's creature, and who she is now that she's free of her)

4 (she betrays Scarlet in Clay's book despite knowing that Scarlet will not like it, and in her own book you consistently see her making big decisions without thinking them through all the way. see: her leaving Jade Mountain to go after Scarlet, burning Darkstalker's scroll, falling back in with her dad and Scarlet (part of that is the enchantment, and part of it is the childhood trauma, but i feel like it fits here).

7 (she bases her worth on her usefulness; first to Scarlet, then to Clay, and follows what they want to the detriment of herself)

8 (she's a very angry dragon. she gets irritated and annoyed very easily, and struggles not to hurt anyone due to that anger. you see her at the beginning of her book yelling inside her head about how she shouldn't HAVE to stay out of Ruby's way, and how OTHER DRAGONS should be more careful around her, and how if anyone hurts Clay she can't even THINK about it otherwise the cave will fill with rage smoke.)

she also has some of that black and white thinking in regards to most dragons; Clay is literally whom she bases her morals on, and if you aren't friends with Clay you're his enemy and she hates you.

she also has issues with jealousy; she's terrified that she won't be loved, and as a consequence Strongly Dislikes his friends due to fear they will convince him to no longer be her friend.

on top of that, Peril has very strong feelings; she either LOVES you or HATES you and there is rarely any in-between; the only notable exceptions are the rest of Jade Winglet, and Scarlet. we also see her have strong emotions; Clay will do something kind for her and she will, and I quote, "feel her entire soul turn into a fireball".

now, i don't live with either of these disorders, so feel free to add on things you think i missed, correct me on things i got wrong, or anything else.

but in conclusion: Peril has aspd & bpd, she would benefit strongly from a dragon therapist, and she is doing her fuckin best. also i love her.

I need you to know that I was up for an hour past my bed time last night thinking and analyzing the last chapter of The Odyssey in my head.

These are my thoughts and I need you to tell me if I’m wrong lol:

First of all Robin and Luke DEFINITELY lied about the Dr Hayes thing just to rile her up. And poor sweet Abigail was so oblivious to the situation, she would’ve never participated in that conversation if she knew their true intent behind it. If she disappoints me I’m gonna be so sad.

As for Bradley, it’s very clear that he loves Honey in a way he’s never loved before. I think he’s trying so hard to protect Honey that it comes off as disinterested at times. I think he’d loved nothing more than to sleep with her but he is very aware of their different comfortabilities with sex so he’s not only learning her but also learning about himself. Things he’d do that he wouldn’t normally think twice about, he’s now thinking about twice and then twice more to make sure he’s not over stepping.

And poor Honey, I just want to hug her. She saw a light at the end of the tunnel with Bradley, a path divulged from the only thing she’s ever known in life and with a single conversation all her insecurities were confirmed. She was grasping back at her old life that she had subconsciously planned to let go, and her guard went back up so quickly with Bradley that she turned back into the version of herself that has protected her her whole life; a rich bitch lol. She’s so worried that all she’ll ever be to Bradley is a Miss Penny, and she’ll never be a Natasha.

Also… how in the WORLD are you gonna casually mention they played a game of strip poker and not go into heavy detail?? I was like “are we gonna pretend like she didn’t say what she just said??”

- Diversity! Since it's been around for so long, there's tons of fics to read. If you can think of it, someone has probably written it. There's a Mewtwo fic I found in college that's basically a retelling of the events of the first movie, but holy shit it's written so beautifully it made me cry in front of my friends rjrhdgde. It's a dense read, but still one of my absolute favorite fics to this day. That's just an example of things you can find!

- Sub-fan bases. Basically, if you're a big fan of a certain Pokémon, a type of Pokémon, one of the games, etc., you're going to find your people very easily. Kind of falls under the first one a bit but ya know lol.

- Some of the cutest and also the most badass fanart comes out of this fandom. I have both art of a Sylveon with a lollipop and art of Mewtwo breaking out of their armor from the first movie. The duality of man djrhdgs

-Maybe I've gotten lucky and just found really nice people, but so far my experiences in the community have been largely positive! I've met some of the loveliest people by posting my Dark Souls and Bloodborne fics, and it really got me back into writing OCs again (you know that's my lifeblood lol)

-Character and lore analyses. Not that I agree with all of them, of course I don't, but if you want an analyses of anything in these games, there's some mad lad out there that's done it, whether it's a post or through an entire fic. Gives you tons to think about!

-I haven't been in this fandom for long, but so far everyone I've met has been very sweet! They're also super OC-friendly. I can't tell you how many Stalker and Puppet OCs I've seen, among others, it's really amazing!

-Probably gonna say this for all of my fandoms but the ART OMG. There's so much gorgeous fanart floating around for this game it's insane. Still on the hunt for more Romeo pieces tho rjrhehe

-Headcanon diversity. Do you want a totally mute P? One that talks sometimes? One that's Had Enough? What I'm getting at is there's a P out there for everyone! People have been exploring all the different character angles on him and it's wonderful to see.

-THE HYPE. Since this is an early access game still in development, the hype that cranks up every time an update is announced is INSANE. I don't think I've ever seen this level of it for an indie game. I got in just in time to witness this for the Violence update and the rush it gives you seeing everyone so excited is amazing!! It helps that every single update has just been an absolute banger. We have reason to be super excited, the devs do stellar work!!

-LORE. Do you wanna feel like Charlie at the corkboard in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia? Because that's where I'm definitely at right now. Since we're in the last act of the game, there's so much speculation and so many theories about how the game will end. On top of that, people have been playing in the lore sandbox ever since this game started. I know I've def been up at night wondering how the hierarchy of Heaven works and what certain layers of Hell were like before Certain Events TM (I'm being vague because I know at least one person wants to play this bear with me lol). Basically there's tons to explore and the community collectively goes insane about different bits, we have fun here lmao

-I'm bundling art and memes into this one because oh my GOD. The tonal whiplash is a rollercoaster ride. You can go from the most heart-wrenching art of Gabriel you've ever seen to a piece that goes "V1 is a shrimp now" and sometimes you just need that snap back to some levity. The memes are absolutely top-tier. It helps that the voice actor for Gabriel already does memes and shitposts on his YouTube channel, so he just carries that over for Ultrakill stuff sometimes and y'know what? This game is dark, I'm gonna need these memes for when the ending makes me bawl like a baby. The Violence layer already has me feeling the creeping sense of dread (if you know you KNOW).

Okay, I figured someone would ask about this one lol

So before I get into it, for context, this year I was working on the local production of the Mean Girls musical, and I was the director’s/choreographer’s assistant and the lights and sound director. All this to say I was there like every practice, and I’d seen the show about 100 times over, and sometimes I’d get bored and be like ‘huh but what if I were to swap out the actual characters with the KHUX characters? How would that change things (dynamics, storybeats, and whatnot)?”.

So, uh, this one is definitely very self indulgent, kind of a joke, and probably doesn’t make much sense for the characters. I did it because I was bored then continued to play with the idea after the show was over because it was fun. Even when I write something for it (it’s just a long list of notes rn), it’ll probably end up staying in my doc forever (and it’ll probably also just be a edit of the musical script) lol

(Also disclaimer: I’ve only seen the musical and not the movie so it’s based off the former)

So this AU follows the larger Mean Girls plot, that being ‘previously homeschooled character infiltrates group of popular girls to ruin their leader from the inside’. The roles each character (loosely) plays in the story are as follows

Karen Smith - Ven (very very loosely)

Janis Sarkisian and Damian (I forget his last name lol) - Ephemer and Skuld (interchangeably)

Aaron Samuels - Strelitzia (also very very very loosely, her plot changes the most from the show)

Mrs Norebury - Ava

So in this Lauriam and Elrena are much more similar to Marluxia and Larxene in the sense of their meanness. Ven the Karen of the group because he’s only being mean because of the others and doesn’t really see what’s wrong about it. Ven and Lauriam used to be friends with Ephemer and Skuld, but they started getting meaner after hanging out with Elrena and eventually ditched them. That would be why Ephemer and Skuld want their revenge.

So, when Player shows up and Lauriam shows interest in recruiting them, the duo takes the opportunity. Player is a bit reluctant at first be eventually goes along with it after seeing how mean they can be.

In the background Strelitzia is doing her whole crush thing on Player, which is why Lauriam shows any interest in them in the first place. But once he realizes that Player might be trying to take him down and using his sister to do it he tries to shut her down by telling lies about Player to her.

Bla bla bla plot of Mean Girls. Player changes who they are to fit in, ousts Lauriam, throws a party that Strelitzia goes to, they have a moment where they talk but at the end Strelitzia’s like ‘Lauriam was right about you actaully’, does some pretty trashy things to Ephemer and Skuld so they have a falling out, Lauriam does the whole “World Burn” thing, Player gets blamed for it, they have the whole thing in the gym, Lauriam gets hit by a some big explosion spell (did I mention there’s still Keyblades and stuff in this? I don’t think I did), and Player gets in all sorts of trouble.

Aaaaand because of that trouble they get in they have to do a math competition with Brain, a much more bored version of Kevin G lol. Strelitzia’s there handing out water and her and Player kind of make up since Player’s gone back to being themself. Then, after the competition, they apologize to Ephemer and Skuld and they make up too.

School dance thing happens and whoop story over.

But yeah that’s kind of the gist of it.

Again, very self indulgent. Just a random thing I did while sitting in the sound booth and I’ll finish once I get my hands back on a script (we photocopied them like the criminals we are lol)

Do you order the lis in games from favorite to least favorite when play? I’d love to see some of your lists if you dooo

Hi anon!! I can't tell if you mean whether I play in favorite->least favorite order, or if I have a tier list of sorts, so I'll just answer both :)

Typically when I play otome (you'd be surprised at how few I've played), I play in recommended route order. While I'm in it for the kisses, typically route order is important too. In games like VariBari and IkeVamp, it was recommended to take certain orders, despite being given everyone from the start, and I enjoyed it a lot that way. Games like Bustafellows and Amnesia with no major order are played mostly by preference. Choice based games like Code Realize are just free for all. Whoever I end up with, I end up with.

Typically though... I like to play with one I like first, save the ones I do not like for the middle, and play my faves last. Example is Amnesia. Shin, Kent, Ikki, Toma, then Ukyo. You will notice a pattern of this below lol.

it’s a little early in the book to really assess ayna but based on the few conversations + diamond scene, i’m going with virgo individuals being respectable, hard-working, self-sufficient, and self-contained with a love of knowledge. virgos may be a bit shy when meeting someone new and have a pretty strong sense of responsibility. i just get the vibe that ayna will become more comfortable with MC over time and open up more but struggle with being responsible / appropriate given she’s MC’s TA.

blaine hayes (foreign affairs, as of ch. 3) – aquarius

okay to be honest i did this one last because i don’t think we know enough yet – i don’t buy the surface-level rebel / don’t care what parents think act. it could be wishful thinking, but we’ve seen it with other characters, there’s some hurt or something deeper. so without projecting on future chapters, it was between sagittarius and aquarius, (maybe i’ll change my mind as the book progresses), but given that blaine seems a little jaded, i went with aquarius because of the description “many aim to free themselves from personal and social conditioning” as well as traits of encouraging forthrightness, coming off aloof, and cleverness / wit.

bryce lahela (open heart) – aries

oh mr. lahela… how to sum up such a big personality in one word? i’ll try with aries - the active, physical energy of aries and using their body to get things done seems to fit bryce; there’s a lot in the books about the physical ways in which he gets things done or works through things, whether it’s exercise or surgery. other fitting characteristics include being direct and straightforward. and if this doesn’t describe bryce, i don’t know what does “they’re not given to long, drawn-out emotional moments; nor are they big on planning ahead” – the planning ahead part certainly reminds me of his growth process with keiki.

charlie smith (distant shores) – aquarius

charlie’s a very interesting one, i almost went with sagittarius but i think aquarius fits her better because of her emphasis on personal freedom, equality, and fairness (her birth circumstances and tense relationship with her father motivating that). other characteristics of an aquarius that i think are fitting include being observant, clever, and occasionally idealistic.

edward mortemer (distant shores) – taurus

these characteristics stick out to me for the captain – loyal, temperamental, dependent, and possessive but are known to have jealous streaks and may be prone to resentment. if you romanced him, there were small moments of jealousy regarding oliver and we all know his temperament and resentment ran deep whenever the admiral was involved.

jackie varma (open heart) – capricorn

strong capricorn vibes for ms. varma in my opinion, specifically “feet-on-the-ground, eye-on-the-prize” vibes and getting things done. capricorns want to do things that are worthwhile and focus on those, being resourceful and very practical in achieving things – i think this is really clear in her story arc with panacea and how she approaches it with a strong realistic sense of what’s practical vs. idealistic. also a bonus – deadpan humor and sarcasm are strong in capricorns.

nia ellarious (blades of light and shadow) – leo

when i read up on leo characteristic, this just screamed nia – they do things with intensity and determination, motivated by affection for people and wanting to make them happy, and have a very noble inner code they answer to but are self-aware and humble. we all saw how nia reassessed her beliefs when her faith in the temple was shaken, and she grounds herself in what she believes at her core to be the right thing to do.

oliver cochrane (distant shores) – capricorn

poor oliver got sidelined but i think capricorn’s realistic, grounded approach to things and wanting to do things worthwhile fits him. capricorns are also known to be reserved at times and not big risk-takers, but do have a strong sense of tradition and responsibility. i think that fits oliver’s backstory and relationship with the navy/his dad well up until the end of the book.

rafael aveiro (open heart) – pisces

mr. soft heart aveiro is sooooooooo a pisces – sensitive to criticism and others’ feelings, wouldn’t hurt a fly, and have a hard time saying no. he’s incredibly compassionate and finds ways to express himself creatively – such as with food or dancing.

raleigh carrera (platinum) – aries

i did think about this for a fic prompt fill (goes to read the fic & refresh my memory) and when i think of raleigh i think confidence and quick-witted, but also stubborn, energetic, and impatient – all traits associated with the aries sign.

zoey wade (queen b) – gemini

i’m only halfway through queen b but i feel like the gemini characteristics of cleverness / wit, getting easily bored if the conversation doesn’t provide enough mental stimulation, not easily intimidated, and ability to be observant and objective seems to align to what i’ve seen so far.

Do you have any art tips for beginner artists?

hi! i'll do my best to list the most useful ones for me from the top of my head! but if you're asking about something specific, lmk too!

always use references! this is 100% the fastest way to improve quickly! and don't forget if you're posting artworks using references, to always ask for permission if needed and to credit the reference! here's a very good post with links to various art tutorials and references :) try to do things out of your comfort zone!

i remember my sister drilling this into my head as a kid lmao: if you're going to draw people, make it a habit to draw the whole body, not just a face or bust. this way you can improve drawing the face and body at the same rate, rather than perfect the face and have like. a shoddy body HAHAHA (<- speaking from experience - my sister warned me but i still did not listen) here's an example from when i was 12 lol i went so hard on the eyes but my anatomy wasn't great so the drawing looks kind of goofy

if i'm being honest nothing has really changed even now HAHAHA you can still tell i spend too much time on the faces and neglect my anatomy studies a lot 🥲

3. don't worry too much about building a signature art style if you're a beginner! experiment and imitate art styles that you like, and it'll eventually develop into something you're comfortable with

4. speaking of art styles, Naoki Saito-sensei does very in-depth art videos for people looking to develop and improve their art, and he covers a variety of different topics! the link i provided is for his new YouTube account, since his first one was unrightfully terminated :( since it's new, there aren't a lot of videos up yet but he'll be re-uploading all his old ones soon

5. this video by tppo is also a useful tutorial/explanation for style breakdowns, using Mika Pikazo-sensei's artworks! also another good reference for building art and colouring styles

6. unless you're going for a specific art style, try not to use black colours for shading. Instead, try using a darker version of your base colour with the hue slightly adjusted. it's a little difficult to explain so i made a tiny diagram underneath:

it makes the colours pop a lot! Kurahana Chinatsu-sensei and Akiakane-sensei are really good at doing this 😭💖 that can also apply to lineart! but again, only if you're going for this kind of colourful art style :') do what feels right to you!

7. lastly try to enjoy drawing! if you do what you enjoy, learning and improving will come so much easier to you :) i can understand the urgency to improve (it's like my default state of mind 🥲) but if you keep focusing on that, drawing will eventually just start to overwhelm and frustrate you. try to combat it by doing something self-indulgent! i like to draw my ocs whenever i start getting burnt out :')

8. actually i lied this is the last one!! never give up!! it's so easy to feel bad or frustrated about your art no matter where you are in your art journey, so what i like to do to try and fight that is to look at my old art and compare the improvements! here's one of the earliest oc drawings i could find from my childhood vs my most recent oc drawing :pensive:

I have been living for yammering about book recs lately so:

if you like PJO and you havent read any of Riordan's other stuff, you can always start there! Heroes of Olympus comes after PJO in the series order, but you could always try Kane Chronicles or Magnus Chase (which is my personal favorite) since they dont really pick up the plot of the PJO books. Only connection is in Magnus Chase because Magnus is Annabeth's cousin.

I also love Hunger Games!! You could always try Divergent and Maze Runner since those were some other dystopians that were super super popular around the same time as THG. I think Hunger Games is better than either series but I think theyre still worth reading. Only warning I would give is for violence and death in both series but if you've read THG and enjoyed it you should be fine i dont think theyre any more graphic than those. Divergent I think also has more kissing and stuff but nothing like explicit, there arent any sex scenes or anything. I also recently heard of a YA novel called Powerless that has a similar concept to THG, but only in the fact that there's kind of like a similar arena fight going on. One of my fav booktubers has a video where she talks about it and she wasn't super a fan of it. I'm linking the video so you can hear her complaints and see if they might be things youre willing to look past and give it a try. I plan on reading this at some point just to see how it is.

This kinda leads into my next rec, The Red Queen series. I would say Powerless is a cross between this series and THG just based on the desc of Powerless because Red Queen has a similar plot at least in the first book of posing as having powers amongst an elite society when you dont. I remember when I was reading this last winter that there were things i didnt really like but i dont remember what they were now. I had an overall good opinion of it when I finished though and i think it's a pretty good like classic YA fantasy. Has a love triangle/almost square in book one and a main love interest rest of the series, kinda becomes a will-they-wont-they type thing. There are "sex scenes" but theyre completely fade to black so nothing explicit. Most graphic it gets is some kissing. Like nothing about the sex scenes is described i actually at one point was flipping back and forth between a page because i was confused and actually couldnt tell if they'd just done it or not lol. It just like paragraphs breaks while theyre kissing and we come back in when theyre getting dressed or lying in bed. If you like fantasy and thg i think you'll like this because it has a similar concept of like overthrowing the elite ruling power. One of my favorite fantasy series i think even with any faults it has.

The Hobbit and LotR are always a great place to start if you like fantasy. They've had a lot of influence on the fantasy genre as it is today and i've never read them but im also planning on reading them very soon because they've been on my list for ages. I have read an audiobook of the hobbit and the vibes are just so immaculate.

Aaand last rec, kind of going back to PJO, theres a Rick Riordan presents series I read a while ago. First book is called Tristan Strong Punches a Hole in the Sky. Believe this is more juvenile than YA but i liked it and want to read the rest of the series at some point. You can also totally just browse some of the Rick Riordan presents books, they're all by different diverse authors with a similar concept to PJO but about different mythologies and folklore. (Think you can find more here)

Ok i lied last one - i've never even read the desc for this book before like 2 minutes ago but you mentioned Wings of Fire and in my library, Wings of Fire and Keeper of the Lost Cities are the two series i would say get checked out the very most from the juvenile section. It sounds interesting just based on the description, it's fantasy, and books are normally popular for a reason, so maybe youll like this one!
