#lok is a bit of a mess

a wee snippet of the self-indulgent tense-fuckery zukka fic i'm working on that no one asked for! most of this fic is sokka (ghost sokka? spirit sokka? who knows) waxing poetic about zuko grieving him, but i wrote this scene with korra for a touch of levity (while still being a little angsty).

note: this is NOT a reader fic. do not let the use of "you" fool you. this is fully from sokka's pov as if he's narrating this to zuko.

"You remind me of him," you tell the Avatar, something wistful tugging at the corner of your mouth, reaching to the creases of your eyes. Korra looks almost bashful, or maybe just flattered. "I get that a lot," she says quietly, as if it's a sore subject but she doesn't want to offend you by mentioning it. You smile at her, warm and reassuring. "I don't mean Aang." "Oh." She sounds surprised, which quickly gives way to embarrassed when you offer her an encouraging smirk to help the thought along. "Oh," she says again, nearly in a different octave. "Oh, I'm so sorry, I should have realized that's — of course, that's who you meant." She laughs nervously, waving her hand vaguely at herself. "Southern Water Tribe, duh." "It's not just that," you tell her, and her nervous energy seems to settle a little at the calm, smooth tone of your voice. "You have the same tenacity, the same spirit. He would be proud to see the Avatar you've become."

Korra is quiet for a moment, either out of respect or simply a loss for words. Then she smiles, a little sheepishly but no less grateful to be honored in such a way. "Tenzin told me he — the Chief? — was with you and my father the night the Red Lotus tried to kidnap me." She looks away, guilt seeping into the set of her shoulders, the way she wraps her arms across her chest. "I'm sorry, I — Did he —?" She glances back, eyes bright, pleading for some kind of forgiveness she doesn't need to be given. "Was it my fault?"

"Korra," you say slowly, frowning, placing a gentle hand on her arm. "What did Tenzin tell you? The Red Lotus had nothing to do with Sokka's passing."

Her eyes go wide. "Really? But he made it sound like — I mean, my dad became Head Chieftain not long after that, I thought —"

You can't help the chuckle low in the back of your throat, a rumble of distant thunder, warm as a summer storm. "No, Korra. Sokka never was particularly suited to be Chief. He felt it was time to pass it on, is all. That, and he felt he could do more good behind the scenes, or through his work in Republic City. But, more often than not, he was with me. Those years were some of our best." 

Korra lets out a trill of nerves, huffing in relief. "Thank the Spirits." A beat, the haunted look of someone who is technically thousands of years old yielding to the vulnerability of someone barely out of her teens carrying the weight of the Spirit and human worlds on her shoulders, knowing she is the reason your — our — friend is gone. This is the cycle we were all prepared for, and yet — "Is that why I barely remember him? Didn't he ever visit Katara at the compound? Why didn't he ever say hello?"

"I wish I could tell you, Korra, but he never gave me his reasons." A wry smile. "I'm sorry if I kept him from you."

Korra twists her mouth, setting her jaw defiantly. "Lord Zuko, if I may —" She isn't really asking permission and you know this, but you nod anyway. "That's bullshit, and you know it. He was your husband. Don't tell me you didn't know just because he didn't tell you."

Your mouth twitches knowingly, even as your expression remains impressively neutral. "I had my suspicions, of course."

"Which were?" Korra presses.

If she weren't the Avatar, I suspect you would've said something along the lines of None of your damn business or Nothing to concern yourself about. Being the Avatar still has its perks in dragging honesty out of you, it seems. Still, you manage to make it a whole production, sighing like it physically pains you to admit it. 

"He wanted to wait until you'd mastered all four elements before he would teach you" — an exaggerated eyeroll, fingers pinching the bridge of your nose — "the 'fifth element.'"

Korra's brow furrows. She blinks like she's waiting for a punchline. "The — what? There is no fifth element, unless you count energy, but —"

"I know," you agree, exhausted. "I know."

"Then what?" Korra demands, sounding as flabbergasted as she looks.

You take a deep breath, wearily replying, "Swordbending."

Korra is frozen for a moment, maybe in shock, maybe in disbelief. Then she bursts out laughing, bright and cool as snow crunching underfoot, until it dawns on her that maybe you weren't actually joking. "Wait, really?" she asks incredulously. "He actually wanted to — to teach me? Why didn't he just team up with Katara? Spirits, it would've been so much fun to have a swordmaster around."

"You told me you have to learn the elements in order, Zuko," you say in a poor imitation of my voice. It's been so long, you've almost forgotten it. "He didn't want to influence your bending, or distract you from your role as Avatar, or so I assume."

Korra huffs. "Sounds an awful lot like he did tell you things, then," she mutters indignantly.

You shrug. "Not in so many words. He said a lot without ever saying it." That wistful slant of your mouth softens into something closer to melancholy. "When you're with someone as long as I was with Sokka, you learn to read between the lines. We had our own language, in a way."

"But if you suspected, why didn't you say anything? Why not encourage him?"

There's a sadness in your smile, an ache in your eyes. "Because, young Avatar," you say gently, "you always think you'll have more time."

Fic Snippet!

“Are you out of your mind?” Zuko rushed across the courtyard and bore down on Aang with an intense, almost palpable fury. “Do you know how badly you could’ve hurt her?”

“I was just…I didn’t mean to-“ Aang stammered.

“Fire is not a toy!” Zuko bellowed at him. He turned to Katara, examining her for injuries. “Are you okay?”

“I’m alright,” she assured him, her voice shaking. “I’m fine.” She was trembling visibly, and there were singe marks on her clothes, but she otherwise seemed unharmed. Zuko turned back to Aang, how was looking down at his feet in shame.

“What were you thinking?” Zuko demanded.

“I don’t know,” Aang mumbled, kicking at the ground. “I was…mad.”

“About what?” Zuko was absolutely bewildered. “What could Katara possibly have done that you thought it was a good idea to do that?”

“Nothing,” Aang admitted sullenly. He didn’t say anything after that. Zuko glowered at him, took a few deep breaths to quell his own anger.

“You’re going to clean this mess up,” he said gesturing to the torn up stones, dirt and cooling lava. “Then you’re going to do 100 fire squats. Then you’re going to work on your forms for an hour. And I don’t want to see so much as a curl of smoke out of you. You’re not responsible enough for fire. Understood?” 

“What? That’s not-“ Aang’s protests died on his lips when he saw Zuko’s expression.  He huffed, kicked at stone, and finally nodded.

“Get started,” Zuko ordered through clenched teeth. He turned back to Katara, who was watching the exchange. She was still shaking a bit. Zuko draped his arm protectively around her back and guided her away. He glanced back once more at Aang, and almost rolled his eyes when he saw the younger boy still moping at the ground. It was hard sometimes to reconcile the awesome might and eminence of the Avatar with the reality of Aang, the child.

“I’ll be back,” he warned Aang. “Have this mess cleaned up. And don’t even think about asking Toph to help.” 

I know canonically, the Lava Fissure Incident takes place while Zuko and Sokka are rescuing Hakoda, but I wanted to have Zuko see and react to it. Personally, I think it was another accidentally accurate depiction of how unready Aang is to be the Avatar. And it is also another incident that the narrative decides not to call Aang out for, so the chances of him growing from it are...well, we all know how things turned out in LoK.

Meggiiiee :o She's a char I came up with in...like 2015 ╥﹏╥ (I'm old) and it was a char in the Legend of Korra-Universe. I sorta transferred her story into the kaiju-verse, and well... I love her a lot :D Also not me struggling with drawing guns/sniper rifles ... :) I wanted to give her a cool gadget but messed up xD Her name wasn't Megumi at first, but I had to change it to fit the japanese Kaiju-verse.

Anouk aka. Anu-chan :3 Yeah, also LOK-verse. She's from 2012 ಥ_ಥ (I'm oooold). Used to be a ice/waterbender, but I redid her skillset completely.. I just didn't feel it in this verse. She should get a special prompt too, but I forgot didn't do that as well :)

Panpanpan :O Pan is the oldest OC, but at the same time the newest I came up with (early 2024). I feel like OCs very often do have at least a little resembles with yourself, whether it's looks or personality. Pan is the character who most resembles me in both :D (very much because it's the newest, lol) But she's a bit over the top nice.

Kari ma gurl c: It's so weird, but I sorta forgot most of my OC's names... ╭( ๐ _๐)╮I mean Pan didn't have a name at first, and for the rest of 'em I had to look up old files, older work on dA and so on.. I hope I am right with 'Kari', I literally am not sure anymore :D Also a char I did early 2024, and it was initially for the BNHA-verse.

Zuko (and Sokka) in Avatar Chibi Short - Bending Battle

Watching the Avatar Chibi Short - Bending Battle was such a weird experience. The animation itself is nice and cute, but there is something truly messed up when Book 1!Zuko - the antagonist - is the only one non-abusive bender toward Sokka. And Katara, Aang and Toph are literally Sokka’s family and friends!

The short animation is about an argument between Katara, Aang and Toph whose element is the best (Sokka tried to join their bender game but his boomerang skill wasn’t taken into account). 

To prove her point, Katara - Sokka’s younger sister - froze him and literally shattered into pieces.

Toph used Sokka as a ball in a flipper-like game created by her earthbending. 

When Sokka outright said he is tired of being used as everyone’s dummy,

Aang used his airbending to turn him into a balloon.

and once Sokka fell down into lake, Aang was just laughing, so proud of himself and his element.

And there is Zuko (and I can't stress enough, in his Book 1’s outfit of the antagonist) who joined the argument by throwing a flame at Sokka…

except there is no visible sign that Sokka was scorched. Only the fish he held in hand catched the fire and was burned (cooked). 

And there is something to say about that scene, because the animation could easily mark that Sokka was burned in a comedic way - a bit of smoke or smoldering flame here and there - but it didn't. And yeah, in previous scenes there is no permanent damage done either, but we can see Sokka's distress (and pain in cause of Toph's bending?) but it is absent from the fire scene; Sokka's expression does not change at all, while the fish is literally on flame. Which is why I think Zuko's bending did not harm Sokka, and fire was actually aimed at the fish.

A fish that Sokka actually ate at the end of episode.

And even once the benders had another contest whose power/skills is the best, when Zuko was using his fire, he is the only one to actually warn others to stay away

while Aang, Katara and Toph just used their respective elements without any warning.

Look, I know this is chibi and not serious animation but damn, it truly hits hard how Zuko (and by extension, Iroh) is the only one person that did not use his element to abuse Sokka, the one non-bender in the group and actually seems to be caution of how dangerous the fire is (and how he couldn’t be aware if his face was burned with fire?) which fits nicely to the original source material and how Zuko did not use fire to burn people on purpose (as could be seen with Zhao during Agni Kai and how he apologized to Toph for burning her feets by accident).

All while Zuko is presented in his Book 1's outfit, when he played the role of antagonist.

On side note, this little animation would be great propaganda material for LoK's Amon and his Equalist movement, wouldn't it? Benders proving their might by abusing non-bender person? Oh yeah, that would be perfect propaganda.

Was aaron ehasz wife a zutarian or is it just made up

Do you think the comics and lok are so messed up because aaron is misding or was it a great team work of all of them 3

I don't know what Elizabeth's thoughts on the ship, assuming she had any, but I know she wrote The Southern Raiders and I think on the script she did use the word "zutara" instead of saying "Zuko and Katara" during one of the action scenes. It does not surprise me if people took it as confirmation that she liked the ship, and who knows, maybe they're right.

She wouldn't be the first writer on the team she said she liked it - it's surely way more believable than the idea that Aaron was fighting to make Zutara a thing but evil Bryke stepped in, like it was in the infamous "interview" zutarians still quote even though he has repeatedly said that shit is fake.

While I think Aaron was a part of why the original show worked so well, and his job as lead-writter meant he had a HUGE impact in it, it's not fair to pretend he was the only one who truly mattered. Bryke were the ones to come up with the very concept of the show and they were pretty heavily involved in it, and the other writers (like his ex wife) deserve credit too for developing the story. And we gotta remember, Aaron also approved of bad parts of the show. Nobody is perfect.

So no, I don't think he alone could have saved the comics or Korra - especially since Bryan and Mike would still have the final say on the matter and they were clearly more than okay with all the awful creative decisions that ruined these projects, including letting Yang project his daddy issues onto Zuko's plot, accidentally reverting his character to the point that I'd argue he became WORSE than pre-redemption Zuko.

I consider both the comics and Korra to be bad storytelling - that had POTENTIAL to be good. It's why you have little moments of good writting, or funny bits, or even good ideas that were simply not handled well but are not inherently bad. Hell, the newest Azula comic was THE best thing we got since the original show, and not in a "it's the best of terrible content" way but in a "this is genuinely good and mostly coherent" way.

Is it possible that maybe Aaron would have noticed some, or maybe even ALL of the major issues with the comics and Korra? Sure. And is it possible that maybe he could have made Bryke change their mind about SOME of the things they were about to give the greenlight to? Yes.

But that's the issue. MAYBE he'd notice. Or maybe he wouldn't. MAYBE he'd do a good job of explaining it to the people calling all the shots. Or maybe he wouldn't.

There's too many maybes to say "Aaron would have made the comics and Korra be great." Personally, I'd say he would have at most made them decent, but not genuinely great like the original show because his presence/abscense is not the ONLY factor that changed.

He was not the only one who left and there were new people around. And nearly 20 fucking years have passed. Aaron changed, Bryke changed, everybody changed. Putting all the old team in the same room is impossible because they're not the same people they were in 2005.

And in my opinion there's another factor here: while ATLA still had storylines that could be turned into a sequel show/comics (what the hell happened to Ursa, what's gonna happen to Azula, how will the Gaang help rebuild a world that spent 100 years at war, is Toph ever going to confront her parents, the dropped idea for an episode centered on Aang's parents, etc) I just don't think Avatar could EVER be turned into this big franchise that keeps going on and on for decades that Bryke wants it to be.

First they made the mistake of not giving that show the fourth season it clearly needed even though it fucked up the pace of book 3, and now they're making the mistake of not letting the story end even when they don't seem to have anything left to say. Ehasz can't fix that.

Twilight of the Warriors: General thoughts and micro-details

a/n: I've watched the movie 6 times. I'm watching it for the 7th time tomorrow because of the meet-and-greet (the producer, director and original novel author of City of Darkness) going on at K11. I've picked up some micro-details from the movie, mixed in with some personal thoughts, enjoyy:

Chan Lok Kwan first arrived in the Walled City on October 2nd, 1984, and his birthday is on September 24, 1953, as shown on his ID card. 

12th Master has this child-like wonder that makes him endearing, he still sticks stickers on his katana and short sword. (Also I'd like to think he has been keeping them for a long time ever since he followed Tiger)

Chan Lok Kwan is pretty much the most emotionally stable one among the Kowloon 4. Only lost a bit of his temper when he played Mahjong the first time with the boys though.  

Ever since that experience where 12th Master almost OD in the Walled City when he was younger, he avoids alcohol, smoking or any other harmful addictive substances. (there's a clip near the end where AV tries to offer 12th alcohol but he refused)

Boss Tiger lets 12th Master do whatever he wants, as long as he doesn’t get himself (severely) hurt since he’s gotta watch over his boss. 

someone asked this in the meet-and-greet with City of Darkness author Yu Yi: Why does King obey Mr. Big so much? He answered that the reason why King doesn’t want to disobey Mr. Big in the first place is because he acknowledges his power is much higher than him. He obeys whoever is stronger than him. 

To add up on King's part, I'd like to believe he always has the power and potential to overpower Mr. Big, yet the timing wasn't right and with how Mr. Big is so ambitious and controlling over his throne, King has no choice to stand aside.

King's attitude ticked from uncertain to overconfident. He went from having the belief where Cyclone's territory shouldn't be messed with to I can eat burning coal after he's gained his confidence from beating Cyclone, that one small encouragement from his goon, and k.o.ing his boss.

His overconfidence gets out of hand when he starts taunting in the last fight, dooming himself by biting off the blade piece.

AV is still looking for his girlfriend through the av tapes (who got taken away by the Triads). To look for her, Shin and his underlings would watch in turns to help looking for her. The 12th Master too sometimes.

Shin's hairdo is definitely well-taken cared of by Cyclone.

Re: Amon vs. Spinner - Amon being a hypocrite made perfect sense for his character. He genuinely wanted to wipe out bending because he felt it was the source of the world's problems and produced people like his abusive father, but his past and the way we see him raised by his abusive father where the importance of his bending power gets drilled into his head for years means that it makes logical sense that he'd use that bending power to get rid of others' bending since he's psychologically incapable of not using it to solve his problems. And like his brother Tarlokk the point was that it's a tragedy they became just like their father while both trying in their own ways to fix the problems that gave rise to him. Their feelings on how they were abused gave them tunnel vision to the point where they couldn't see how they were repeating the cycle until it was too late.

With Spinner, there is nothing unique about his past of being prejudiced against to separate him from any other heteromorph. So him being hypocritical doesn't have any justification other than undermining his position.

Unlike Amon, spinner doesn't have a reason to be discriminatory towards his own kind and his previous actions make it so that it doesn't make sense why he would do such a switch up. Sure spinners character going through a similar thing to amon would be very interesting and it would explore a characteristic that the villains have that's almost never explored : their hypocrisy!! However, if hori wanted to go with that route he needs build up which he very much lacks!!

Spinners storyline also is lacking in more ways than one. His relationship with tomura is Hella underdeveloped and there really isn't a clear path of how spinner changes from being a die hard stain fan to a die hard shigaraki fan. Spinner and shoji could of had an interesting dynamic as they both have their own respective parallels and similarities were both characters could gain a voice through their interactions but nope hori didn't build on that at all.

Out of topic but I just wanna add that to me there's something so symbolic about Amon dying by a technological device and not by a bender of by bending itself. The abuse he went through truly shaped him and his brother in such a different way with them both still relying on an ability that they don't take a liking to, to get by. (Honestly I should rewatch lok and atla maybe I will post about it but getting into fandom mess thats the atla fandom is annoying)

Edit: now that I think about it Amon and overhaul end up being a bit similar more similar than amon and spinner (I still like amon better tho)

when it comes to his adorable little angel, Ajax is… selfish to put it lightly. you’re his angel are you not? so why bother gracing others with so much as your gaze; it makes no sense to him. he does his best to drill a firm set of rules into your head but with such a sweet disposition you naturally slip up on occasion under the preface of helping others. Ajax can’t exactly blame you for it, by all means you’re a species designed to aid others, but it still builds an ugly ball of jealous in his gut and mind.

when it comes to punishments, he doesn’t frame them for what they are. he’d rather go about it explaining it as something normal that all humans do!! you would hate to be left out, right? he mumbled sweet yet backhanded praises while gently tracing your throat before fastening the collar around it. a little bit of, ��this is what’s supposed to happen,” and a dash of, “c’mon pretty girl, you want to be good don’t you? so quit fussing and let me fix this up.” he’s sweet when he gently cuts his initials into you too. hands smoothing all over your plush skin and trailing kisses wherever his mouth leads him as if it’ll soothe the bite of the blade digging into your flesh. he wipes your tears off and assures you this is what humans do to show affection and ownership!! everyone does it so behave!! with that, you do even if you’re squirming and sobbing the whole time.

when the other angels see what you’ve let him do? oh, they’re horrified. you let him mangle you so eagerly without a word of defiance? rather than ostracizing you immediately, they attempt to save and help you, urging you to leave this foul human and never let him near you again!! yet, you can’t. you just love him so much that when you come back teary eyed and explaining how they want you to abandon him, Ajax his wrapped around you in seconds. he sighs and mutters about how they just don’t understand the way you do. you’re just naturally better than all of them, you get him. he’s a wonderful gaslighter!!

i’m the canon universe he’s far less subdued with punishments. there’s no need for him to beat around the bush so hard since you already know the type of guy he is; a ruthless harbinger with inclinations towards distraction and a major desire for power. he doesn’t need to manipulate the situation so hard because there’s nothing to be manipulated. it’s easy math to him, one plus one is two and you did something bad so you’re getting punished. makes sense, no?

he’s a bit traditional when it comes to these sorts of things. his first line of defence is laughing it off when murderous intent in his eyes and a firm pat to your head that clearly says ‘don’t push your luck’. if that isn’t effective, then prepare for a harsh talking to that’s full of degradation and a bruising grip on your wrists. following that it gets more… humiliating. forcing you to address him as ‘sir’ in public, making you get off on his shoe in front of new recruits, spanking you in Zhongli’s office, and so on… anything above belongs in the category of you fucked up but to a lesser degree. things like back talk, finding work arounds to the rules hes laid out, or not listening to extra orders he’s given to you. he can get far meaner if the situation calls for it.

lets say you did something to make him look a fool in front of his coworkers, god forbid the other harbingers, regardless of if it’s on purpose or not. he’ll be brandishing a small hydro blade and lurking where you least expect him. sometimes it’s in an alley way and sometimes it’s in the darkness of your shared home. you’ll be lulled into false security after he brushes it off in the moment and doesn’t immediately act on punishing you. it’s only when all you’re muscles have relaxed that Ajax slinks out of his hiding spot and presses the blade to your throat just enough to draw blood but not enough to do any serious damage. he’ll revel in the way you sob and cry as with practices precision he makes clean and almost artistic cuts across you’re whole body. Ajax is careful not to draw enough blood to actually put your health at risk but sometimes he gets close; he just adores the deep wine colour especially when it’s coming from your body. numerous degrading terms and many slices of his name will cover your head to toe by the time he’s done making you suffer. it’ll be impossible for you to move without serious discomfort so he’s quick with gliding his cock through the trails of your blood before spreading your pussy open for him to use. it’s close enough to being lube, surely!! any complaints will only make him rougher so be good from there on out. <3

okay so this is me and my dumb hyperfixation talking but how do you think the rest of tlok would’ve gone if makorra wasn’t ruined. like just in general, what do you think would’ve changed?? if anything??

keeping this short but like. brain worms are munching. cuz the way their characters developed and how they each influenced each other. how would that have ended like. romantically. like what if korra burned bright and bright and bright and offered her soul and her strength and every one of her fingernails in love and mako bit his lip hard enough to offer blood in a kiss. what if they were a little bit insane by the end of everything.

hey snailon!!! i've missed you <3 i've been hella busy myself (cough i have four ap tests in a row next week) but it's always lovely to see you around haha

hmm there are definitely a fair share of really well written meta regarding a not-slanderized makorra, but i don't really have any specific links on me rn. i'll just give you my sparknotes version of what i'd imagine, which might end up combined with stuff i've read from other people that i don't remember reading

i'd probably postpone them more than the series did — which, granted, they did write it with one season in mind, so i'll give them that. (i would argue that it's still a valid explanation for certain writing choices, because even though the books were commissioned before the release of their predecessors, it's not like the writers get to just rewrite the ending spontaneously bc episodes aren't constructed chronologically lol) okay ignoring that tangent

i'm okay with the love triangle in season 1 as it is because even though it's insane, it also checks out on all parts for korra, asami, and mako in terms of backstory and personality at this point in the story. korra is socially unaware because she never interacted with people her age or really Society, asami is desperately lonely and values good intent above all else, and mako is also impressively socially stunted and has the pressure of financial concerns as well. (if it were up to me, i would either just commit to korrasami or makorra from the start and add in the third if going in the throuple direction. i'm going off on a tangent again)

i have conflicting feelings about endgame. on one hand, makorra is so full circle by concluding the way they do here — mako's first encounter with korra he treats her like he doesn't give a shit that she's the avatar, the first person to ever do so; yet, by the end when korra's absolutely devastated and believes her only value was as the avatar, mako tells her straight up that he doesn't care if she's the avatar or not, as he has all along. it's genuinely so cute and i could honestly write so many more words about it than i did. but at the same time, i just would like to think that after the shitshow love triangle, they would put off getting together, perhaps as an overcompensation upon recognizing how they hurt asami.

since the latter route is the au i've decided to follow, so be it. in endgame, korra and mako still have their full circle moment and spinny-hug, but instead of kissing in front of naga they just longingly pine into one another's eyes. excessively so the viewers know. okay cut

season 2 they are rekindling their friendships with asami and asami is tired of watching them dance around their feelings for one another and also maybe pining just a little bit for korra but huh what. i would actually have to rewrite the entirety of lok to shift s2 into a readable mess. korra is still amazing as always and saves the world as always. oh also throw in some korrasami with the family betrayal theme. yeah i don't want to think too hard about this

see the struggle is that i love krew!friendship in season 3 so much but at the same time i feel like end of season 2 is the perfect time for a makorra get-together instead of a makorra breakup, seeing that korra has literally changed the entire world all by herself because she is so amazing. so alas, we'll go with end of season 2. mako no longer lives under his desk to hide from korrasami and in the two weeks between s2 and s3 they are done with their honeymoon phase so they'll just be as they are through s3 tbh. honestly there was so much makorra shipteasing throughout canon s3 that i don't really think there'd need to be too much rewriting. they're still the level-head/kick-the-door-down-subtlety duo within the krew dynamics and they're still clearly very important to each other specifically. the makorra hug before korra goes up to face zaheer might be drawn out even more and maybe something sweet couples say idk. (i have so much rizz i know wht i'm saying)

korra gets even more trauma for a lifetime (again), and three years pass. korra writes to asami once as in canon because by the time she feels human enough to pick up a pen, she doesn't even know how to talk to mako, let alone try to address the guilt of ignoring the guy who devoted himself to her so thoroughly. asami understands what it is to lose. mako (& bolin) has lost more than anyone else once perhaps but i think that the trauma repression means that that was never processed and he would be terrible to talk to about any of this. he's been there, but he doesn't understand it, if that makes sense.

okay so korra comes back, makorrasami dinner (ig the shitling that canon wu is is there also), makorrasami train fight, then we have remembrances and beyond the wilds — y'know, the korrasami/makorra episodes respectively. korra is now experiencing feelings for both of them Oh Fuck. by default i would say that masami has been hooking up through these three years but since makorra was a thing through s3 then i retract that; however, their friendship has rekindled very deeply as the only two members of the krew left in the city. and mako & korra have not discussed what they were or what they want to be at all, just been adamantly dancing around the subject.

blah blah kuvira blah blah city blows up then the wedding then bam!!!! mako's love confession to korra is actually a love confession to korra (wdym "i'll follow you into battle no matter how crazy things get; i've got your back and i always will" ISN'T a confession of love). korra is joined by both mako and asami after tenzin leaves, asami grieves, and the three of them have a moment together that has very heavy implications for throuple-ism. then bolin pulls up very devastated that he has missed the final krew party. cue the laughter, cue korra's final delivery of "i'll always try to restore balance" bc it should've been here instead as the three of them stare at the changed city before them, and cut.

(yes krew should've had the final scene together. i've said it before that i don't think korrasami was particularly well written, but i still like them and the ending is still very sweet. however, i hate that they completely disregarded the rest of the cast for the final episode instead of giving them a scene together, even if not the very last one, bc of how that translated over into the entire fandom… i mean what. and the spirit world vacation is a sweet sentiment but also i feel that korra would never immediately go leave on a vacation immediately after everything that just happened and her declarations of duty. i don't think i articulated that very well. but yes.)

Asami dug her fingers through her hair, pulling deep at the root. “Gah! I can’t seem to figure this out! I don’t know what the issue is with me!”

Tempted as she was to kick the easel to the ground, she chose to bring her legs higher up on the foot rests of the stool. Elbows propped on her knees, Asami let out a horrid sigh.

“Think you’re getting too much in your head about this?” Iroh pried.

“Clearly!” she snapped with her head still tucked into her chin.

“Why don’t you take a look from another’s perspective? See what it’s like on the other side of the easel.

That made Asami pull her head up to face him for the first time in a minute. The genuine concern in his features made Asami crack a weak smile. 

“Iroh, are you suggesting I’m my own model?”

“Hmm. I mean narrate and act out what you’re trying to envision. If it would help, I’d be behind the easel this time.”

That made Asami wear a cheek-splitting grin and spring out of her seat so fast it nearly toppled over. “Oh, I gotta see this.”

So, some spoilers for Dawn of Yangchen, but there’s a part towards the end where Yangchen defeats the combustion benders of Project Unanimity. There is one in particular she spares. But how Yangchen in general handled the operation resulted in her being banned from the Northern Air Temple. (Likely the reason why no statues of her are there 👀)

Anyways, I want to think about Yangchen and the combustion bender she spared meeting up later in life, reconciling, and generally learning more about how she’s been since her defeat. Could be some type of redemption and healing from the craziness it takes to become a combustion bender.

Master List

After being inundated with dozens of texts from her small group of friends, Louisa met up with them that following morning.  

From the very second she stepped into the cafe, they pulled her to a table near the counter and started pelting her with so many questions that she couldn't tell who asked what. 

“What was he like? “

“Was he handsome?“

“Is he a good dancer?”

“Did you kiss?”

“What was he wearing?”

“What did he do when he saw you?”

She waved her hands to cut them off.  “Holy crap guys. Give me a second to breathe.”  Brad got up and made her a cup of hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream and placed it on the table in front of her. 

“Now spill,” He said.  “We need details, lady!”

She spent the next 20 minutes telling them bits and pieces: what the event looked like, all the movie props set up, the music, the dancing, and (yes)  the kissing.  “It was like being in a fairy tale.*

All three had dreamy looks on their faces, trying to imagine it. Cora realized something.  “Did you not take pictures?  Please tell me you took at least one or two pictures!”

“I got one picture.” She pulled out her phone and showed them a selfie of her with the Ludo prop. 

While they were happy to see ‘a’ picture, it's not what they were anticipating. She shrugged. “It was really hard to not just get lost in it, but I did.*

She then told them what happened when she made it into the ballroom. “When I spotted him, he was on the other side of the room, and of course I got over there as fast as I could.*  everyone nodded, eager to hear more. 

“When I got there, I couldn't find him. I turned around, and there he was, right where I'd just been. He made his way across, cutting across the dance floor. It's like there was something just pulling us together.”

Chad and Cora gasped. “Like a fairytale,” Brad chimed in. 

Louisa continued. ‘He just held out his hand. I placed mine in his, and he took me out to the floor where we danced for I don't know how long until ....”

Her story was interrupted by the chime of someone coming in the front door.  Chad got up to help them, instructing the group not to say anything without him and then returned to the table once he finished ringing up their customer so that Louisa could continue her story.

“I don’t mean to interrupt……..okay, well I do, but if this guy ends up being some sort of scam artist or a jerk, I’m gonna kick his ass.”  Brad and Cora agreed.  No one was opposed to kicking the crap out of someone who messed with their Louisa.  She’d already been through more than enough.  She doesn’t deserve to get hurt again.

Chad winked. “There’s always hall pass.  But I get…….”

“Eye candy privilege.  Yes, I know.”  Everyone laughed.  “Deal.”  Louisa knew it wouldn’t come to that, though.  She was entirely smitten with her Lok……James.  ‘I gotta remember he actually has a name,’ she thought to herself.

Cora snatched her phone and started looking at the messages, hoping to get the name of this mystery man only to find he was still listed as Loki in her contacts.  “Does this guy have a name?  If his real name is Loki, I’m gonna laugh, but I have a feeling that’s not actually his name.”

“James,” Louisa replied.

Everyone oooooo’d and ahhhh’d.  “That’s a nice, solid name.  What does he look like?  Because you failed epically at taking any pictures so we could judge him.”

A smile spread across her face just thinking about that.  “He’s definitely tall.  At least 6’2”, maybe a little taller,  Dirty blond hair.  You can’t see it just looking at him, but he’s strong.  I could feel the muscles in his arms.  He’s gotta work out or something.  And his hands?  There’s some calluses.  He does some work with his hands, but they’re warm.”

It’s obvious that she’s, at minimum, twitterpated over this man.  Everyone let out a wistful sigh until an abrupt, very loud shriek came out of Chad causing everyone in the cafe to wince and cover their ears.

“What?  What the hell caused you to make that ungodly sound?”  Cora rubbed her ears, chad’s shrieking causing them to ring.

He responded in a stage whisper.  “It’s him!”

“Him who?”

“IT’S HALL PASS!” 

Since their backs were turned to the door, Cora and Louisa started to turn around to see who it was before Chad told them not to look.  He didn’t want it to be obvious.  Rather than let Brad take his turn, Chad scrambled to the counter as hall pass entered.  By the time he got up to the counter to order, Chad already had his usual ready.  Hall pass picked it up and turned around.  Spotting Louisa, he smiled and walked over to her quickly with his long legs.  When he reached her table, he bent over and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.  “Good morning, darling.”

Chad shrieked again, watching his hall pass make a pass at Louisa. So he marched over there to tell him off.  How dare he just go up to someone, especially Louisa, and force affection?  Before he could say anything, Louisa gestured to the empty seat next to her.  

“Everyone, this is James.  James, this is……well, everyone.”  She pointed to each person, giving both their real names as well as the names she used in their texted  messaging.  Chad shrieked again.  “Chad!  You have to stop making that ungodly sound.  Use your words!”

Chad stage whispered, pointing at James.  “Hall pass.”  Her eyes went wide, looking over to James before laughing.  James looked between her and Chad, very confused.

“Apparently, you’re Chad’s hall pass,” she told him and explained what that meant.  Once he understood, he laughed as well.  “I’m sorry Chad, but I’m completely taken by this woman right here.”

Chad looked back to Louisa.  “You’d better keep up your end of the bargain.”  Everyone else was confused except for Louisa who laughed yet again.  She had to explain this to James.  “Chad told me that if Loki ended up being a complete ass that he would set me up with his hall pass as long as he got ogling privileges.”  James laughed.  

Cora pointed a stern finger at James.  “Just so you know.  If you hurt her, we’ll make you disappear.”

“Duly noted. I wouldn't expect anything less.”  In fact, James was glad to hear it.  It was a testament to the strong friendship between them.

Louisa tugs his sleeve.  “Do you have some pictures from last night? This lot were kinda mad that I didn't really take any.”

He pulled out his phone. The board received a link to pictures taken by the photographers hired for the event.  Clicking on the link, he handed the phone to her friends to browse through them. 

There were a large number of pictures, but at one point, there were quite a few pictures featuring him and Louisa. Granted, James hadn't looked at them yet. So he was just as surprised to see so many where he and Louisa became the subject of one of the photographers. These pictures made it evident how much these two were smitten with each other from the moment they finally laid eyes on each other.

Easing The Way

“That’s it, relax for me. Let me take care of you,” the General murmured as his hands worked their way down my torso. If my wrists hadn’t been cuffed to the headboard, I’d have grabbed his arms or tried to caress his fingers the way I knew he liked.

As it was, though, I couldn’t move a muscle. The handcuffs matched the black restraint strap that was securely fastened across my hips, holding them against the bed. He’d left my legs free so that he could manipulate my position as he saw fit - I was completely at my lover’s mercy.

But that was just how we both liked it. By the time Velal’s large, callused, grasping fingers spread my thighs, I was already a mess. Whimpering around the gag in my mouth, I tried to plead with my eyes. His gaze met mine, and I knew that he understood me perfectly despite no actual words having been exchanged.

“Such an obedient little soldier...You earned that commendation fair and square, didn’t you?” He probed as his fingers spread my lower lips and brushed lightly over my clit. “As the first Starfleet officer to serve on a Romulan ship during a battle, you had great courage. My brave little mate...”

The pads of his first two digits circled my entrance at a sadistically slow pace, applying just enough pressure to make me try to roll my hips. The restraint stopped me, of course, but that didn’t keep me from whining in protest around the gag in my mouth.

“Patience. You’ll have me,” Velal crooned as he made a show of pulling his length from his trousers and stroking himself while he teased me. “I have to make sure there’s enough slick here first.”

Kneeling at the end of the bed and lifting my legs over his shoulders, the General inhaled my scent in a deep breath that transformed into a rumbling, groaning exhale against the inside of my thigh.

In the low lighting of our quarters back on Deep Space Nine, my heavy breaths seemed almost too loud...too desperate...too much.

“Silence those fears. You’re exactly as I desire you, e’lev.” I nodded my head in response to his emphatic order, trying to remain in the moment. The General made that a much easier task than it ought to have been. His tongue flattened and licked a wide stripe between my legs, swirling around my clit. My head dropped back against the pillows in pleasure when my lover growled against my most sensitive skin.

The distinct sound of skin on skin washed over my ears. He was touching himself while he was eating me out. Damn the man, he knew what that did to me. Sure enough, I felt myself growing damper under his patient, skillful ministrations, but all my mate did was smile against me and add a bit more urgency to his movements.

He trailed off with a loud groan as he aimed his lok between my legs. Hot spurts of his seed splattered across my folds, and soon his fingers were trailing through his spunk.

“You look so beautiful like this,” he murmured scooping up a bit of his spend and spreading it over his lok. His tip was a deep, angry shade of green beneath the pearlescent layer of his come, which shone obscenely in his grasp. He was already hard and ready to continue. Romulan refractory periods really were a wonder!

Whimpering around the gag, I hooked my leg over his hip, trying to pull him closer, to convince him to fuck me sooner. I’d been so terribly close to an orgasm before, and I was desperate to continue after it had been snatched away. All I got for my trouble, though, was a swift swat to the backside.

“Naughty girl. I suppose I’ve only myself to blame. I have kept you waiting for far too long for your reward, haven’t I?” Velal mused stepping closer and finally pressing his lok against my entrance. Slowly, steadily, he thrust forward, pushing more of his seed inside me with a filthy squelching sound. A rough, raspy moan tore from his throat when he bottomed out within me, echoed by my own near-sob. His hands gripped my thighs hard as quiet oaths spilled from his lips in his native language.

I knew exactly how he felt. Channeling his thoughts and emotions through his bruising grip, the General gave me a hungry stare as he bucked his hips. Random LOK season 2 thought: Bolin’s storylines are a mess but they all have That One Thing that makes me not completely hate them.

His “romance” with Eska is more awkward than funny BUT - Aubrey Plaza! So I can’t completely hate it.

Bolin becoming a Mover star by playing a Water Tribe warrior makes me deeply uncomfortable. Like, I know these are fictional races and all, but the fact that a lighter skin character is cast as a Water Tribe character… not loving. Then add in the whole bit where Bolin doesn’t understand that Ginger is acting… Ugg. BUT - Varric.

Manual to Blender navigation/object manipulation

This post was supposed to be a manual on how to use Connor’s rig, but I started a bit too far from blender basics and it has gotten so long and I haven’t even gotten to the part where I’m actually talking about the rig, so I decided to split it into parts and this first one is just about blender in general.

( It doesn’t make sense for this post to have this screenshot of Connor at the beginning of it anymore, but HUH, l’ll just keep it as a reminder of what’s the end goal *paste a meme template with a bunch of connor pictures and the words “Do it For Him” * the next sentence below was written before I realised it's not going to to be about this rig anymore)

I’m not sure how far away I should start it, but the moment you open it, it should lok something like this:

For those who never used blender before, you should be first familiar with basic intarface/navigation, but in case you’re not really comfortable, here’s a quick(oh BOY no it’s not so quick anymore) sum on

1. How to navigate around blender

You can use those icons to navigate, but ideally you should be using an actual mouse and shortcuts. USE SHORTCUTS AND MOUSE, you’ll get used to it quickly:

The gizmo with XYZ to rotate around the scene. (shortcut: Middle mouse button + drag)

Hand icon to pan around without rotating (shortcut: Shift + Middle mouse button + drag)

magnifying glass to Zoom in and out (shortcut: mouse scroll wheel)

Okay, move around and get accustomed to it 

2. Different modes (Object/Edit/Pose)

There are different modes in blender for different purposes, but for working with rig you’ll be generally working switching between Pose and Object modes.

You can change them in the upper left corner of working area or by using Ctrl + Tab to switch between the three. One thing to note: what you see in mode menu depends on what object is currently selected. If you select a mesh, the menu will look differently and will feature a bunch of other modes like sculpt and different paint modes, but no Pose mode:

To see the Pose Mode listed you must select the armature object (the rig itself), here it is named Main_Rig and here it is selected as orange

After selecting it (check that you only select it and nothing else)

Oh, by the way

3. How to (de)select things in blender

It’s simple,

To select things you click on them with left mouse button

To select multiple things things you either click and drag left mouse button (LMB) with a box select or click on individual objects while holding Shift, or you can combine the two 

If you want to select everything (that is visible and not hided atm), press A.

If you want to deselect everything click on empty space on your scene or press Alt + A (or just click A two times quickly)

To deselect only some objects you could use Alt + Z to undo your last action (Ctrl + Shift + Z to redo it again) in case it was the last object you selected or you can use Ctrl + Left Click and drag to box select objects you want to remove from selection.

It is also handy to know how to invert selection aka select everything BUT a bunch of objects (Ctrl + I)

Maybe I’ll add more things to this list later, but you should be good to go with what is already listed.

Okay, back to the rig, select it and go to Pose Mode. Or wait, first, real quick about Object Mode

4. Object mode

Here you select objects and move/rotate/sclale(ooops! Careful here! Usually you don’t want to scale them in Object Mode and should use Edit mode instead, maybe later on I’ll explain why. In short - it can mess up the way things work)

4.1 Okay, Let’s move it

To move things around you select them first and then (Here I’ll deliberately ignore the existance of gizmos bc you should be using shortcuts, just believe me) you press G to move it freely around as it is following your mouse, click to fix it in new place or left click to reset the way it was before you decided to move it. Additionally, after pressing pressing G once you can follow it with X, Y or Z (you don’t need to press them at the same time, just one after another) to move it only along the way of one of those axis. This place here need a little further explanation about

4.1.2? The difference between Local vs Global transformation orientation  

They can be changed in upper middle part of the working area. Basically Global orientation means that if you move an object and will try to move them along some specific axis (X/Y/Z) they’ll move accordingly right-left/forwards-backwards/up or down, aligned with those you see in a gizmo in upper-right corner of the screen. But it’s not the only way you can move things. In case you have an object that is slightly rotated you may want to move them along it’s local position in space. This is actually a time where gizmos can help visually understand what I mean

Here I rotated a cube slightly from it’s original rotation, and if I use Global Orientation and will try to move it along one of the axis, it will move in one of those directions as shown by arrows in the first picture. As you can see, they are aligned with visual representation of those global axis (here X and Y) you can see as Red and Green lines

If I switch into Local orientation, you can see that now arrows are aligned not with the world’s Up-Down/Left-Right/etc but with what’s Up-Down/Left-Right RELATIVE TO THE OBJECT ITSELF. (Which btw is something you can change)

Okay, enough about moving things, now about rotating

4.2 Rotating things

To rotate them you press R to rotate it around. Double-Click R to rotate it freely around all axis or, just like it was with moving things only around certain axis you can also rotate them around certain axis (with R -> X(or Y or Z, or Shift+X/Y/Z to rotate around all axis but this one)). Same with Global/Local orientations, just imagine that those arrows in pictures above are a representation of around what line in space an object will rotate from it’s pivot point (represented by this orange dot. It can be moved around and shit, but maybe I’ll talk about it later). 

I could also mention that there are also different rotation modes like Euler/Quaternion and such a thing like Gimbal Lock, but those are some shit you encounter when you rig things and they start to spin not the way you want them to, driving you crazy about why isn’t this fucking shi-...nvm, moving on

4.3 Scaling shit

Press S to scale things. Just like before press S then X(Y or Z) to only scale them in one axis, or Shift+(axis of your choice here) to exclude it from the list of axis you want to scale it along. Here I should talk a bit about situations where you’re scaling a bunch of things at once and want to scale it relative to a specific point in space or use individual pivot points for each of the selected objects. You can change it here:  

I’m getting lazy, so I won’t be explaning it in details here, but just be aware that this menu exists. It is actually useful for rotating things as well, but I more often use it for scaling, so I forgot to mention it in rotating section

Okay, I think we’re done manipulating things, and we haven’t even got to the part when I talk about the rig I was supposed to be writing about on the first place SHIT I should have started explaining those concepts within pose mode right away, but huh, those concepts for manipulating things are interchangeable for moving bones or rig controllers, so no time were wasted here, it’s all the same, if you know how to manipulate object in object mode you’ll use the same exact shortcuts and do it the same way, it this sense blender is really consistent with it shortcut-usage and G is always for moving, R for rotating and and S for scaling, whether you are scaling objects, bones, controllers or graph handles or distance between keyframes or...list is long enough, you got my point.

Okay, I think it’s enough for the first part and I’m scared that this website will glitch and erase all my work and it’s a bit too much to loose at this point. Hopefully in second part I get to the part where I’m talking about the rig but it’s possible I’ll get too excited talking about rigging concepts of Fk/Ik in general
