there was something about being in the middle of the ring that was exhilarating. he wasn’t quite sure what it was yet and he hadn’t quite figure it out. too many hits to the brain, maybe?  too many times in the emergency room? loss of blood? whatever it was underground boxing was his calling, or anything that made him face danger, anything that brought him face to face with death. he didn’t know, he thought sometimes it was just how he was wired. often times, his friends told him he chased death like an old man ready to go, but he chased the feeling, the adrenaline that was brought every time he was in that ring. he had no fear of death, only fear of living a life he didn’t love and everything about the ring, called to him. “LOGAN CALLOWAY!” his name was called out after his introduction, the man coming out of the dark and walking towards the ring. his opponent already standing there, looking at him. both of them in that moment shared the same look of determination, of winning this round, winning the next. a knockout. 

walking onto the ring, his eyes found doe ones. ones that he had never seen there before. gentle. they didn’t belong in the middle of sweaty men and women who gambled away their money for the sake of seeing someone near death on the ground. they didn’t belong in the middle of dante’s inferno. the eleventh circle of hell, his own personal circle.  how did she find him?  that minuscule minute of wondering about those doe eyes allowed for the other to take a straight shot to his face, logan immediately stumbling back. those several seconds allowed him to lose the fight, the man dropping to the floor almost immediately. 

logan laid on the floor, allowing for the others to cheer for his opponent as the crowd that was there for him boo’ed -- or at least that’s what he assumed. usually when he lost they would boo, but his focus was steady in front of him, in front of those doe eyes that had caused him to lose himself. he was angry, angry at her for having found him, angry that he allowed himself to be found. logan got up with the help of his friends and the referee, holding on tight, his weight practically on top of the other men as he looked back and allowed for her to follow them. 

logan remained quiet as they walked towards the locker room, he remained quiet as they worked around him but his eyes stayed on the brown of hers. he winced as they touched his face with a cold pack of his face, before finally allowing the cold to feel comfortable against his face. “what are you doing here, elena?” he questioned, practically groaning, “you’re not suppose to be here.” she was the one thing in his life that wasn’t ruined, the one thing in his life that remained pure, and that he hadn't damaged, he wanted that, for them, to remain like that, but life never worked out as he wanted it to, nor, how he expected it to be.  

‘you’ve got another fight in thirty, man’ 

logan nodded, before his eyes landed on elena’s again. “i’m not going to ask you twice lena.” if he were being honest, he wasn’t going to even ask, she didn't to see another one. she didn’t to see his plain disregard for his life. she wouldn’t understand it.  “you need to leave.”
