I have to have a chuckle at the Screenrant article posted recently about the Galactic Starcruiser, which totally wasn't about Jenny Nicholson's video honest.
In part, because early in Nicholson's video, she talks about how unnatural it is to have your influencers speak in adcopy and copyright rather than the more colloquial nicknames, and how it makes the people speaking about the product seem very insincere and, well, paid off. Because normal humans don't speak that way, but advertising does.
What's the first two lines in this article?
"As a life-long fan of Star Wars, there was nothing quite as exciting as finding out that I would be working on the immersive Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser experience. Located at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Galactic Starcruiser opened on March 1, 2022, and welcomed passengers to board a two-day, two-night cruise through the stars, during which they could live out their own Star Wars adventure."
No one talks like this naturally. No one writes like this naturally.
This is supposed to be your passioned defense of the place you worked at, the people you worked with, and the memories you made along the way. C'mon! Why don't you open with a story, perhaps an anecdote about the best moment you had working there, or the devastation of the day you lost your dream job. We need to feel your humanity! But there's nothing of that here, to the point where you can just hear the TM behind Galactic Starcruiser.
The first half of this article continues in this vein, reading like a press release Disney marketing put out, just with past tense rather than present or future tense:
"Essentially, the Starcruiser experience was a 48-hour movie that passengers were actually a part of. It was all facilitated through the "datapad," which was accessed through the Play Disney Parks app."
"To facilitate the overarching immersive experience and storytelling, the Starcruiser built a jam-packed itinerary for each and every guest that would consist of a variety of important activities: the captain's toast at muster, a bridge training exercise, lightsaber training, and more. These types of events were essential to understanding what was happening, as they would give passengers the chance to interact with characters and build their story. This is why the Starcruiser could never be just a hotel; every part of it was designed for enthusiastic interaction."
Like, c'mon. I used to work in television. I've seen and used adcopy in my former job, and this is some serious adcopy. It honestly wouldn't shock me if the author dredged up some old adcopy they had lying around about the topic and just transferred it over, changing the tense. You're not here to sell us this product, because there is no product to sell. It's gone, it's been gone for a year, you don't have to sell us on IT. Speak about your experiences.
The next part is yet another topic that Jenny Nicholson pointed out, the bad faith excuses that influencers and advertisers made for the extreme price point:
"What many people don't know, however, is that the price included much more than just a room. The passengers' food, park tickets, recreation activities on board, non-alcoholic drinks, and more were all included - with merchandise being one of the few additional costs on board."
Which is absolute bad faith reasoning, especially when there are plenty of other vacation options that are ALSO all-inclusive, but are MUCH cheaper and offer MORE amenities than the Galactic Starcruiser did! Including Disney Cruises, owned by the same company! Seriously, you can go on a halfway decent sounding cruise or all-inclusive resort somewhere warm for, like, a week or two and spend far less than GSC cost.
Then the last part is essentially: "All the workers liked working there and the bad reviews afterwards make the workers who worked on it feel sad. :("
Which, like, companies have been hiding behind that reasoning for ages. Curiously, the author never offers....any reasons or stories. WHY did working on it impact you so much? What set it apart, what were the people like, what did you like about working there, why are you so passionate about it even a year later? There's nothing, just a generic sort of "We worked hard." and "We're sad it's gone." Why? How? What happened? The video you're obviously writing this in response to is filled with personal anecdotes and stories, it's the backbone of the video! Again, you need to give us something to show your humanity!
Especially when you consider that Nicholson repeatedly points out that the only highlight about her experience, the only thing that kept the damn thing going was the workers.
She had nothing but praise for them, and nothing but contempt for the higher ups who wasted and abused that enthusiasm, to the point where one of her last points was "Hey, Disney is basically exploiting labor."
Much like Jenny, I'm also not condemning anyone who had a good time working there. Good! If you were having a good time at work, that's great. If you have good memories about the people, awesome. But I'll note two things:
a) That doesn't meant you weren't being exploited, and
b) That doesn't mean you have to be a useful idiot for the corporation you worked for afterwards.
I'm not conspiracy brained enough to go "Oh, Disney TOTALLY forced this article into being.", because a cursory examination of the author's prior works and such suggests a lifelong passion for Star Wars, she did work at the hotel, and she's a Star Wars Editor (whatever THAT means in this day and age) for Screen Rant. Apparently one of the heads of Screen Rant says that Disney had no hand in it either.
Though, I can see why people would think that way. It READS like a press release, not something a normal human being would write about an experience they feel passionate about.

(Nov. 10. 2023) The blue lagoon in Iceland is currently closed (for a week) due to a high risk of a volcanic eruption within a kilometer (0.8 miles) of the popular tourist location.
When the gathering magma breaks the earth's crust, anyone visiting the blue lagoon will have (best case scenario) approximately 20 minutes to make it to safety.
If there are people sleeping in the adjacent hotel or gods forbid in the lagoon itself, the worst case scenario is the magma breaking surface beneath the lagoon.
The only truly realistic way to avoid serious casualties here is for the resort, hotel, and lagoon yo remain completely closed until the danger passes.
There are currently icelandic people calling for a 2/1 deal (or cheaper) on blue lagoon tickets for Icelandic people on twitter.
Do Not Go To The Blue Lagoon Until The Danger Has Passed!!
It's a lovely experience but it's absolutely not worth boiling alive or burning to death.

❃S/O going on a trip with Seventeen❃
In honour of their new comeback that I am definitely processing as a not-delusional and completely functional human being, a very quickly written prompt inspired by the MV on what it would be like to travel with Seventeen. Also, I just came back from a short hiking vacation in Bavaria so it felt fitting to have a travel themed prompt.
Tumblr media
Scoups/Seungcheol
❀The only way for you to convince Coups to go on a trip with you is to go on a purely spa-treatment/relaxation vacation where he will not have to lift a single finger. He wants the princess treatment, and only highly luxurious all-inclusive resorts will do.
❀The location doesn't even matter to him, as long as there is sun, because the two of you will not be leaving the hotel to go sightseeing. Coups will absolutely refuse to move for two weeks straight, unfortunately for you, that is, if you want to explore the town. For Scoups, walking around to see some historic buildings falls under movement.
❀ Instead, he wants to lounge at the pool, sipping on a fancy cocktail, enjoying the fact that, for once, he has no responsibilities. He is ready to catch up on a lifetime of sleep and, you know, alone time with his partner, undisturbed.
❀ You can't even convince him to go to the beach because dragging your stuff from the hotel is too much effort for him. Plus, he finds the sand incredibly bothersome.
❀ Unfortunately, his plans to relax are disturbed as he forgot to put his phone on silent the first day that you two arrived. Instead of peace and quiet, his phone is continuously ringing. He made the mistake of picking up once, stuck to listening to Seungkwan's rant about whatever questionable thing his BSS members did this time around.
Tumblr media
Jeonghan
❀ He is definitely another supporter of the zero-movement trip, but where Coups pulls the leader card, he will drag his feet and go sightseeing with you. Jeonghan, similarly to Coups, refuses to go anywhere but a luxurious resort. The bed better be incredibly soft because he is exhausted and wants to spend most of his time either on a lounge chair near the pool or in bed underneath the soft covers, fast asleep (get your mind out of the gutter).
❀ Whenever you guys do end up going outside to see the world, he makes sure to have everything in his backpack. Whatever you need, he has made sure to pack it beforehand. From baby wipes to your favourite snacks to pads, he made sure to stuff it in his overflowing backpack.
❀ His patience is heavily tested when you drag him to touristy spots. He is only there because he loves you, not because he enjoys people or busy places. One time, he kept eyeing an annoying bratty child for a bit too long, and you are convinced that if you hadn't distracted him, he would've pushed it down the cliff.
❀ Jeonghan is a god at haggling and can't get enough of it. You always end up with a bunch of souvenirs that he managed to get for cheaper. He keeps telling you that he needs to get this many souvenirs to cover all of the members, but you know better. He is addicted to the rush of winning.
Tumblr media
Joshua
❀ Where his fellow 95-liners are content with sitting at the pool for two weeks straight, Joshua is the polar opposite, wanting to explore everything and anything that there is to see. Then again, I imagine him to be someone who prefers city trips over camping trips, enjoying the different cultures he gets to experience.
❀ Joshua is one of those people who does research before he visits a place. He always makes a vast list of places that he wants to take you to. Joshua's list consists of a healthy mix of places he finds fascinating and places he knows you would like. The added bonus to travelling with Joshua is that he will do all the talking if you end up getting lost.
❀ No matter what you guys are doing, Joshua's outfits are on point. He wants the both of you to look like you just came off a runway. There is no slacking; there will be no leisure wear, not even during the flight. He will make sure you guys are always matching, taking it way too seriously.
❀ The outfits are purely because Joshua wants thousands of photos of you two together at every location you visit. You better be prepared to pose as if your life depends on it, as whenever a scenery looks remotely picturesque, he will ask a local or a tourist to take at least twenty pictures. After the trip, he will combine all the pictures into a scrapbook, making you forgive him for the slightly obsessive and annoyingly persistent insistence on taking a picture every five minutes.
Tumblr media
Jun
❀ He is incredibly excited to be going on a trip with you, but don't expect him to help you plan it in any shape, way or form. Jun is okay with pretty much anything; however, he is absolutely the type to turn up without knowing where you guys are even going. Generally, he has the mentality of a very well-behaved child, so you won't have to constantly entertain him. That being said, you better keep him occupied when you visit a lot of museums, or else you will be plagued by a constant whining of "Can we go yet?"
❀ During one of your trips, he came up with an exciting game for museums. You guys use a random object generator and then try to find that object in a painting or display; whoever finds it first, wins. It allows for you to enjoy the art and for him to endure the "boring old stuff".
❀ His favourite part of trips is sitting outside at a café with some tasty food or drinks, watching people go about their day-to-day. He enjoys soaking in the atmosphere without running around to visit museums that require thinking and likes to make up stories about those passing by.
❀ If there are stray cats/dogs in the place that you are visiting, half of his camera roll will be pictures of just them. Don't expect him to take pictures of you; he already took a hundred pictures of an earless black-and-white cat that take up the remainder of his storage. I hope you bring hand sanitiser because he will be petting every single one of them regardless of the potential fleas.
Tumblr media
Hoshi/Soonyoung
❀ Welcome to the most unhinged vacation of a lifetime. With Hoshi, there will be no opportunities for you to sit down and relax because he will be dragging you around the entire city/country, trying to experience and see as much as is humanly possible. His energy has no limits, and he wants you to get the most out of the holiday.
❀ In other words, Hoshi will be speed-running your vacation with zero planning. Sure, he asked Joshua and Wonwoo for their travel itinerary, but other than that, he is doing this purely based on vibes.
❀ Be prepared to end up at some obscure and rather dodgy restaurants that will definitely give you food poisoning because Hoshi felt it call out to him. Sure, it might have been the tiger on the storefront, but he maintains that you find the best food in the least touristy places. After this trip, you will never trust Kwon Soonyoung to plan anything ever again.
❀ He is no different when you guys decide to have a nice relaxing day at the pool. In his never-ending energy, he will almost accidentally drown you during a water fight. The other members are genuinely scared that Hoshi will kill you someday on accident.
❀ He tries so hard to be serious during museum visits. However, his genuinely trying to be insightful comments are so unhinged that they have you cracking up continuously. You can't take him seriously when he examines a Greek statue, noting that the statue is "very well made. Look at how well-crafted that ass is, perfect proportions.”
Tumblr media
Wonwoo
❀ The moment you guys decide to go on a trip, Wonwoo will send you a plethora of surveys asking you what type of trip you want to go on and what kind of sights you want to see. It is so in-depth that you wonder what Wonwoo is even going to do with all this data; you are not sure what the point is of you ranking different pool shapes.
❀ That is until he presents you with The Schedule. Jeon Wonwoo has created the world's most detailed schedule, planning everything down to the mili-second. Even relaxation time is accounted for, describing what kind of relaxation activity it should be.
❀ If it is not on the schedule, he is not doing it. The schedule is holy, and if anything needs changing, you can let him know in the feedback form he created to be completed at the end of the trip. Wonwoo is deadly serious. At the very least, you will have seen most of the country's/city's highlights at the most optimal times.
❀ Sadly for him, he accidentally breaks his glasses halfway through the trip when he leans forward too much when peering down a cliff, requiring an impromptu visit to the local optician. Rather than freaking out about the lack of sight, Wonwoo will be fretting about the unravelling of his precious schedule. He will attempt to reschedule the rest of the trip that night, but you kindly encourage him to be a bit more flexible.
Tumblr media
Woozi/Jihoon
❀ Good luck trying to get this man to take a break and leave his house. He doesn't understand why you guys have to go on a trip; why change the scenery when his house has food that you know will be good and a bed that is always comfortable? If you want to go to a pool, the gym he frequents has one. It is absolutely unnecessary, in his opinion, to leave his house, let alone Korea, unless it is for a world tour.
❀ When you finally manage to convince him to go on a trip with you, he will try to smuggle his 'portable' studio into his luggage. Yes, you have told him that this will be a no-working trip. Yes, a part of him was still planning to spend a couple of afternoons locked in the hotel room, producing a song. You sternly remind him that being a workaholic is a problem and breaks can help with writer's block.
❀ Still, he will walk around the city/country with his phone tightly held in his hand to record anything that inspires him. He especially pauses at local musicians playing traditional folk music, fascinated by the different melodies and rhythms. He, moreover, notes down any lyrics that pop into his head. Woozi won't say it out loud, but spending time with you makes him think of the sappiest, most romantic love songs.
❀ He magically vanishes the moment he sees a gathering of tourists. No matter how much he loves you, he will not willingly expose himself to crowds.
Tumblr media
DK/Seokmin
❀ In all fairness, DK might be the best person to go on a trip with. DK gets easily and genuinely excited about everything, making even the most boring museum visit feel like an awe-inspiring experience. Moreover, he is always happy whenever you are happy, meaning that even if he doesn't particularly like a place or museum you are visiting, he will still have a good time as long as you are smiling.
❀ He is such a golden retriever puppy and loves just about everything. As long as you are there next to him, he is having a great time, making it the best trip he ever went on. He will repeatedly tell you that, too, never ceasing to take the opportunity to let you know that he loves spending time with you.
❀ He is down to do anything you want, whether it consists of relaxing at the pool or visiting some obscure art performance he doesn't quite understand. Just plan it for him, and he will show up with the biggest smile as if it had always been on his bucket list. Honestly, we all need a boyfriend like DK.
❀ Where Jeonghan comes home with souvenirs due to his obsession with haggling, DK does so because he genuinely wants to have presents for all the members. Half of your trip consists of finding souvenirs for his friends, and DK is bent on finding something nice for all of them. He won't leave before his suitcase is filled to the brim with small statues, food and postcards.
Tumblr media
Mingyu
❀ Mingyu is a bit of a disaster when it comes to travelling. You constantly have to keep an eye on his possessions for him; before you know it, he has misplaced his passport or accidentally forgot to bring his phone. Unsurprisingly, he will be the unlucky soul whose luggage gets unceremoniously left behind at the departure airport. You spend the entire first day buying him a whole new wardrobe because neither of you has much faith in his luggage arriving in time before the trip ends.
❀ He says he is down to go on a road trip together, but you better turn down that idea real quick. With his clumsiness, he will end up somehow breaking the rental car. He does convince you to go on a fancy yacht together, where you discover that boats and Kim Mingyu do not mix. You had to fish him out of the water at least five times due to him losing his balance. The poor guy wanted it to be a romantic boat ride, too. He had prepared an entire picnic basket and candles, the whole Pinterest picture, which he may have taken into the water with him as he fell.
❀ Mingyu has one obsession during the entire vacation, namely trying all the food that is available. Sure, museums can be fun, but rather than wasting his precious time looking at pretty paintings, he wants to spend his time stuffing his face with the local cousine. He has compiled a list solely consisting of good restaurants, and his entire goal this trip is to try as much food as is humanly possible.
❀ I hope you have strong bowels because he will need you to eat every five minutes in order to try all the dishes available.
Tumblr media
The8/Minghao
❀ Instead of you having to drag him to museums, he is the one who wants to visit every museum at least once. Not the history ones, though, just the art museums; history, in his opinion, is boring. Who cares that some famous historical figure died in this spot?
❀ He loves to go on street art tours given by locals. For him, it is hitting two birds with one stone. On the one hand, he gets to see cool street art that isn't restricted by whatever the art institutions deem acceptable. On the other hand, he gets to soak in the vibes of the city as he is led through it. He is another member who strikes me as loving to sit down at a café to observe the day-to-day life of the city's inhabitants.
❀ He would definitely be down to visit a wine country so that the two of you can go on wine tours. Minghao would especially be excited if those wine tours consisted of quality wine that he rarely is able to drink in Korea. Honestly, if you were to take him to either Italy or France, he would be happy. Art and wine? That is all he wants in life.
❀ Going on vacation with Minghao reeks of luxury. He will not hold back and splurge on the finer things, making sure that the two of you are pampered. To be fair, he needs it after dealing with twelve hyperactive men on a daily basis; he is pretty sure that they are making him age twice as fast.
Tumblr media
Seungkwan
❀ He is so incredibly excited to be going on a trip with you that he overpacked. His luggage is twice as big as yours, mostly because he wanted to pack some of your dresses that he thinks you look especially pretty in and enough supplements to last both of you a lifetime. You don't even have to worry about accidentally forgetting to pack something because Seungkwan got you. He has been closely watching you pack your suitcase, lovingly (albeit naggingly) pointing out whenever you missed something.
❀ Seungkwan loves going on hiking vacations combined with a hotel. We have all seen him and Vernon trying to catch a bug; this boy is not going camping unless it is glamping with enormous amounts of bug repellent. Still, he lives for those easy-to-do hikes, using it as an opportunity to walk and talk about life. He takes comfort in knowing that despite his hectic schedule, he can use these trips to catch up and share whatever emotions and thoughts you are having.
❀ He is such a social butterfly; it doesn't matter where you are, but Seungkwan will strike up a conversation with the nearest person. Upon visiting a local restaurant, he becomes best friends with a group of local grandmas dining next to you two. He has exchanged addresses and has already promised to send them a Christmas card. You are not sure how he managed to communicate with them, as neither spoke the other's language.
❀ Seungkwan, moreover, is the best person to go to touristy spots with. He has such assertiveness that he will get his way no matter what. No annoying unattended child or whining entitled Karen is getting in his way of enjoying this historical site with the love of his life.
Tumblr media
Vernon
❀ Vernon is a bit hopeless when it comes to holidays. He is another member who will show up and do whatever you tell him to, not really caring what kind of vacation they go on. Take him anywhere, and Vernon will have a great time, content with any activity you want to do or sight you wish to see. Vernon enjoys the occasional museum visit and is always down for a hike as long as it doesn't require any intense physical activity.
❀ Still, you will have to help him pack because he will forget detrimental things if you don't. Underwear? He completely forgot about it until you mentioned it. How could he forget about that? His passport? It completely slipped his mind to put it in his hand luggage. He did make sure to download all the episodes of a show on Netflix so you can watch it during the plane ride. Priorities, I guess.
❀ One time, he forgot to bring his swimsuit to a pool vacation. Luckily, there were enough stores where he could buy a new one, but, to this day, you are not sure how he managed to forget the one thing central to a vacation based around swimming. He was down to swim in his underwear, as well, until you mentioned getting a new one in the store next door.
❀ Honestly, out of all the members, he would be the best road trip buddy for the playlists but the worst for preparation.
Tumblr media
Dino/Chan
❀ Dino can go two ways when it comes to a trip. He either will not want to go outside the hotel and will be content with relaxing at the pool for the entire trip. Or, he will want to visit every highlight and tourist attraction without taking a single break. There is no in-between, and it fully depends on how much the members exhausted him with their endless teasing.
❀ He is excited to finally be able to have some quality one-on-one time with you without being continuously teased by his members. A part of him is incredibly nervous to go on a trip for the first time with someone other than his members; he hasn't stopped thinking about all the things that could go wrong. However, the excitement of getting to spend uninterrupted one-on-one time with you overshadows most of it.
❀ He unironically loves museums and historical sites because of the history and stories they tell. Dino acts like his love for history is a running gag, using it to crack his members up. However, he genuinely enjoys learning about history and finds something inspiring about the ever-lastingness of historical figures. Nothing is more fascinating to him than how their stories have continued to exist long beyond their passing. Thus, he wants to visit as many historical sites as he is able to.
❀ I feel like Dino would be the type to 'accidentally' forget his razor and convince everyone he grew a beard because of it. In reality, all that had grown over the weeks you have been away were five whisps of hair, barely visible. When you told him he could borrow yours for the time being or he could get a new one in the pharmacy down the road, he dramatically exclaimed it was a sign to grow out a beard. It is safe to say that the members didn't let him live it down.

Anthony Lockwood x f!Reader
Warnings: None this pretty much fluff only :) 💖💖💖
Summary: Lockwood and Y/N have to stay overnight in a hotel for a case, which is not the biggest problem until the room only has one bed
A/N: I hope you guys like it :) 💖💖💖 I wasn't sure how to feel about it and it is a little cliche but I couldn't get it out of my mind also :') 💖💖💖 Also sorry if updates are slow :') 💖💖💖 Hope you have a great day :) 💖💖💖
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"So you're telling me they didn't have a cheaper room", she frowned, chasing after him.
He didn't look back, crumpling the receipt into his pocket, "Yes".
The straps of her bag weighed down on her shoulders, pulling her down close to the ground, as they walked up yet another flight of stairs. Her feet ached. If this hotel was so brilliant why were all the elevators broken ? It was probably because the location of their next job was far out of London, next to the middle of nowhere. She probably should have seen it coming when the train station was just a misshapen shack that was barely standing. George and Lucy had rather conveniently decided to sit this one out, something about providing assistance remotely. She rolled her eyes.
"Remind me again why we took this case", she groaned, finally catching up to him.
He chuckled, shaking his head, "They are paying us highly for our services".
"Mmhm", she closed her eyes, leaning against the wall. Money. It was the denominator of every fraction in their lives. She longed for a time when they wouldn’t be so dependent on it, to the point where they put their lives on the line just for it. It was a harsh reality, one they were used to, but if anything she could at least thank it for the people that had come into her life, for him.
"Oh come on it's not that bad", he grinned widely, readjusting the bag on his shoulder before handing her a dull looking iron key.
She gave him a pointed look, “That's what you always say"
"But is it ever a lie", he raised a brow. She couldn’t help but smile. It was never awful, not even subpar, not if she was with him. He just knew all the right buttons to press with her, granted he also knew the wrong ones but it didn’t happen often enough to be a concern. He was reckless and overconfident, but he was also sweet and funny. It was hard for her to not have a good time when they were together.
"No, but I am allowed to miss the comfort of home", she grinned. She twisted the key through the lock, swinging the door open.
"Well, you'll be there soon enough", he laughed.
"Oh", her smile faltered. The room itself was relatively normal, no expensive sheets or fantastic views. It was clean and tidy, the covers folded in neatly under the mattress. The only problem was that there was only one bed. She thought this only happened in books, but the universe decided to prove her wrong this one time and of course it had to be with him. She chewed her thumbnail. It was already too late for them to request another room. She wondered what to say. Who would even know what to say ? No one, because no one ever ends up in these kinds of situations, except her apparently.
"Right, this is fine, you take the bed, I'll take the floor", he dumped the bags haphazardly at the foot of the bed. He was already gathering some pillows off the bed.
She felt a twinge of sympathy and maybe something more. Call it a careless decision. In the moment she felt brave, or maybe she was just desperate, she wasn’t sure. Yet she was aware of the consequences, even as the words spilled out, “Don't be ridiculous, we can share".
"I- Only if you're alright with it", he was surprised. She couldn’t tell if it was a good or bad one. If she was being honest she was surprised too. It would have been easier to let him stay on the floor, kept a solid barrier between them. What had she gotten herself into ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was dark when all the lights were turned out. Fortunately, she was quite accustomed to the dark. It didn't scare her. What scared her was the fact that she was lying in a bed with a boy next to her, a boy that she hasn't been able to stop thinking about for the past 6 months. It was not the most ideal situation, but she figured they'd been stuck in more compromising positions. Yet, her heart was still pounding like she'd run a marathon and she was working a little too hard to keep her breathing quiet. They had always been close, even from when she had first joined the agency. She had always summed it up to them being a good team. That was until it developed into something more elaborate. When had things changed ? When had they become complicated ?
"Are you comfortable ?", he turned towards her, whispering.
"Very", she hoped she sounded confident. Her hands were clasped together tightly over her chest as she stared at the ceiling. She refused to look at him. She just might explode from anticipation alone.
"You're practically falling off the mattress", he scoffed. So maybe she had forced herself to be at as close to the edge as she could without falling off. It was only to put a respectable amount of distance between them, so she could manage the night with some semblance of relaxation. She had been hoping that he would be ignorant enough for her plan to work, but he seemed to be the exact opposite. She sighed. This was going to be one of those long nights.
He wrapped an arm around her waist, "Come on".
"No I-", she pressed her lips together. Her body went rigid as he tugged her closer to the middle of the bed, closer to him. She felt overtly self-conscious, choosing to concentrate on breathing in and out, instead of the fact that her back was pressed tightly against his chest. It was a more difficult task than what she had anticipated, especially when the warmth from his body spread to her. Her confidence faltered, and she felt herself relax into him, “This is nice, actually".
"Surprising isn't it ?", his tone was sarcastic, but his hand still rested comfortably over hers.
She was confused to say the least. They were always close, but sharing near-death experiences could do that to a person. Still, the last few months had been different. His touch would linger a little longer before he pulled away hurriedly. She would feel his stare in a crowded room, but he never met her eyes. Maybe it would have been simpler if she had been more forward with him, but she hadn't, and it put her in a vulnerable position. She could have gone to sleep, but she didn't, "Lockwood ?".
"Yes ?", his hot breath left the hairs on the back her neck standing.
She pushed herself to sit up, "I can't keep doing this".
"Doing what ?", he mimicked her position. His brows were furrowed and he sounded unconvinced.
"This", she groaned, throwing her head onto her knees. Why was this so hard for him to understand ? Why was it so hard for her to tell him ? Why wouldn't her heart stop pounding ?
She took a breath in, "We always act like a couple but somehow we're just friends, I just- I need- I-". He watched her closely, eyes dropping to her lips, before pressing his against them. He tasted faintly of honey and tea. She was quick to respond, grabbing a fistful of his shirt and tugging him closer to her. Her racing heart finally seemed to slow. She felt relieved and desperate all at once. She hoped he felt the same too, and to some extent he must be, seeing as he was kissing her like she might disappear if he didn't.
"Was that a good enough answer for you ?", he chuckled, pulling away.
She was breathless, but stood by a nonchalant facade, "Well you didn't really say anything".
"What? I was trying to make a romantic gesture?", he pressed his lips together, falling back onto the bed. The springs creaked under the sudden weight.
She giggled, smoothing his hair and patting down the stray strands that were sticking out, “Just kidding".
She lay down on the bed, settling into his side. She wondered if this was just a dream, and that she would eventually wake to a version of him that was unaware. The thought alone made her eyes grow wide. Well, it wouldn't hurt to check she thought. She poked him harshly in the side, "Just so you know, I really like you".
He only grinned, "Thanks, I really like me too".
She hit him across the chest, "I hate you". Only Anthony Lockwood could be that big-headed. At least she could be sure that this was reality. Where he had gotten his ego, she would never know, but at least she could go to sleep in peace.
"Don't worry I really like you too", he laughed, softly pressing a kiss against her temple. Though, she thought, when he wanted to, he could also be sweet.

I've kind of want to explain how the whole hierarchy in "the streets" lines up in arcade.
The street is quite a wide area. There is a vague map for arcade. One that I haven't quite drawn out because it's so big. But the general look of it places Fall fest as far away from the streets as possible. While It is relatively right from Stardust arcade, and is somewhere smashed between Sundowns location, and planets old location. Like I said it's quite big. It takes quite a lot of space, and mingles in quite a bit of other locations areas. Stardust Arcade is one part of its edge, with warehouse taking the other side.
But onto the hierarchy sort of stuff. Certain locations are included in this hierarchy because of how mingled they are in the streets area. So don't be too confused if I mention a certain character that definitely is not wild and on the streets.
Top of the list is sundown. Sundown lives in this spot where he's basically made deals with nearly everybody and nobody is willing to sacrifice the peace of being able to get repairs for a cheaper buck. Also the fact that he's the best repairman in miles. Not even people outside of the streets necessarily mess with him. Although I will note a lot of locations dude just get more protection due to being a location. And are more so troublesome areas than they are ranks on people inside them.
There is then planets old home. But it's not necessarily her old home that is on top. It was her. But nobody in the streets has gained knowledge of her transfer and has just stayed away from memory. But planet was known as the Queen of that area before she left, and her lingering rain remains.
Red blue and blacks location is the next one on top. And this one is actually a blend of location power and a actual enemy to watch. The location is of course big enough and watched enough that no one messes with it. But similar to planet Blue Moon has made a name for themselves. It's not just the location that's off limits. It's the area around their location. Blue Moon has become the ribbon devil and no one wants to wander in their space.
Warehouse is also technically on this list. But it's more so an area known for its security than it's rank. A similar thing with Stardust arcade. Warehouse is more of a target due to it being out in the boonies. But the constant patrol of multiple animatronics has made many wary. A similar thing with Stardust. Simply too many people there's too many things to watch. Including the fact that it's in a very populated area. Which is why the whole hierarchy of the streets is less known to Stardust than is to warehouse.
Getting onto actual people, packs, and locations housing those. The last real location is the old abandoned robot factory. It's more so a peace center or epicenter of everyone on the streets. It is in the basement of this area that ravenous was found. Plenty of different packs and strays come to the building for safety. There is a quiet rule to not attack anyone. But it's more so a courtesy. The deeper you go in the facility the less safe it becomes. It's an interesting dichotomy.
Ravenous would technically be considered the most terrifying being on the streets. If they weren't trapped. But this is more so a side note of where they could be.
The next is the MVP. The Neptune pack. Once you get out of the realm of locations they are definitely the top dog. No one wants to mess with them, and no one wants to get in their way. The hotel they've taken over is left baron and alone. And the Neptune pack nearly patrol every single area of the streets. There's not really a way to be out of their way. Unless you go to Stardust or warehouse, You're stuck just having to deal with them.
Next is the sulky star cluster. I'm sure this is a surprise but they're more so considered a pack to the street. They are basically delinquents. And while they definitely won't mess with the Neptune pack. They are practically on the same level. It's mostly given to the fact they have homes and therefore can afford a lot more than most packs can. And technically they also hold a lot of power over the locations also. Characters like Blue Moon, Planet (If she was still there), and others are under their fists just because the sulky star custer can actually talk with the locations. But of course they don't have actual control over them so they're down here.
Next is Vapor. It's mostly just because vapor is not in a pack that he's down here. Vapor can stand his ground against most. And no one is really going up to them and asking for a fight. Even the Neptune pack has been unable to conquer him. But unlike the packs of course he does not hold much power. And just always just barely scraping by. So he remains relatively weak and solo.
The next is what I'm calling the streets majority. This is either poor robots, robots that got kicked out, or robots with the cannibal bug that have gone a little wild. These ones are spread out even wider than even the common area for the streets. As they are just your standard "homeless robot". But most of them stand here. Either not powerful enough to be considered a danger, or two alone to put up most of a fight.
Nykur is on the bottom. They have no real way to defend themselves, and have no way to make packs because of their innate fear. They barely survive on the streets, And the only reason people leave them alone is because of ravenous. Their protection is literally staying around the robot facility building. It is only because of that quiet peace that they are really alive. It's also the fact that they don't pray on others in the streets. They pray on robots that have more stable lives and are more willing to trust a lie. There are probably others like them but Nykur is really the only one that's lived long enough to be of notice.
And that's most of the rankings. It's pretty concise. Locations are top dog just because their a location, And almost everyone else falls into this power triangle. I will note there's a lot more mingling of the ranks. Much like it's innately false to say that wolves have territory lines that they do not cross. It is innately wrong to say the same here and say that some that are more powerful than others could technically be beaten by what is considered weaker on this list.
The entirety of the streets lies on either having enough brute force to win, materials to get you by, and the cleverness to survive. And it simply a question on how much you have of all of those categories that makes you a winner or a loser.

An important internet safety tip for my fellow marginalized folks in this season of U.S. Hell:
It is much easier to find your location from your photos/videos than you might think, just from visual clues.
Back when Onision was having the height of his meltdown, I was able to find the exact hotel he was staying in from one of his videos. I found it by looking at the room decor and furniture. He'd also made the very stupid mistake of showing a split second of the view outside the window, so I could make out the names and logos of nearby businesses. The view didn't even need to show a sign with the hotel's name. He'd already revealed what city or county he was in, so I just had to look up the business outside the window after the name of the city in Google Maps to find the hotel. I also found what type of room he was in (i.e. economy, deluxe, etc), and which floor he was on by the view from the window.
I was also very close to finding his home address just from two things: photo/video available online showing the front of his house, and the name of his city which was also public information.
This is very easy to do, it doesn't take being a tech genius or whatever.
-Do not show the outside of a nearby building in your online content. Even if it's not the outside of your own home, these images can still be used to find your location.
-If filming inside a hotel room, find a blank background with no visible decor or furniture. Even the wallpaper can be a clue.
-Make sure any windows visible in your images don't show anything distinctive: no business signs, no landmarks, no artwork/murals on the sides of buildings, no houses, no apartment balconies with anything on them (any decor or furniture on an apartment balcony can be a clue).
-Your car can be a clue. Even the color. If you film inside your car and it must be parked outside your residence, avoid any special seat covers, plushies in the windows, anything distinctive hanging from the mirror, etc.
-This one's pretty basic, but sharing your city, state, and even general area can be very risky. If any of this is combined with other things listed above, your location could be found with a quick internet search. Sharing what sports teams you support (including wearing merch in images or having it on your walls in them) is the same as revealing your city or state, unless it's different from where you live.
-Private your "likes" and what pages you follow, if any of them might be distinctive to your area. For example, on Twitter, you might follow the local news, police, and DOT.
-Internet footprint: Using the same username and/or profile picture on all platforms and/or copying your bios and posts across multiple platforms can make your online footprint more traceable. This can make it harder for you to truly start clean if you have to delete an account and start fresh.
-One more great internet thing: Use a VPN to hide your IP address. Doxxers can use your IP address to find your info. I use Surfshark for a VPN, it's one of the cheaper ones I've found (around $15 per month I think). I budget this by not having any streaming subscriptions and instead using an illicit website to watch stuff for free (while having my VPN on, and doing a security scan on my PC now and then).

It’s been a while since you’ve talked about it, but I’m worried about visiting LA this year. I don’t live in a city that big, I can’t really investigate it online, and I have no idea where it’s safe to hotel there. Where do you (did you? You may have moved on?) feel safe in the city? Where would you recommend to people visiting to stay? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to! You’re just one of the very few people I know that has lived there. Thank you, regardless of your answer, you didn’t have to read this at all❤️
hi! answering publicly in case anyone has advice they want to add :)
i'm a little worried this might come off as dismissive, but honestly i just don't find cities to be that dangerous. i've lived in LA for almost eight years, lived in another city for 3 years before that, and have visited about a dozen major cities outside of america
homeless people, by and large, aren't going to bother you. if you have a couple bucks to spare, give it with a smile and look them in the eye, and move on, or if you have nothing it's fine to say that you just don't have cash. if there's an encampment, which happens all over the city and just not on skid row, then they're definitely not going to bother you because they don't want to cause trouble and get kicked out of where they've managed to find a consistent place to sleep
the truth is if you get assaulted, statistically it's going to be by someone you know rather than a rando on the street. if you do get assaulted in LA by a stranger, it is WAY more likely to by an out of work background actor named josh who picks up shifts at a tiki bar than a homeless person or gang member
that being said, i actually have no idea what neighborhoods are considered dangerous in LA these days? i guess the flip side of finding nowhere in LA particularly dangerous is that it's all dangerous, but really you're more likely to get taken out jaywalking in dtla than anything else
as for locations, it's important to remember: los angeles is huge
it's more like a bunch of small towns next to one another than one cohesive city. the town i grew up in is smaller than the neighborhood i currently live in. if you're visiting, i HIGHLY suggest you rent a car. the public transport in LA is shit
i've only been to east LA to visit friends and eats burgers. both were enjoyable, but you're relatively far from the coast. they also built a stadium in inglewood, which multiple friends have informed me has fucked up the housing in the area, but i don't know if that would make it better or worse to stay in
anywhere in the valley is going to be cheaper than the city proper. north hollywood and studio city are good for that. the garland in noho is really cute and right next to the highway. sherman oaks and van nuys are decent too and they're literally right next to each other. i personally think encino is one large strip mall and so is panorama city, but panorama city at least has the saving grace of good filipino food
if you get to northridge, you've gone too far north. malibu beaches are definitely worth a visit, but it's such an expensive area and so far from everything that i wouldn't stay there
hollywood proper, venice beach, and santa monica are probably the most quintessentially LA places, but I would only stay in santa monica out of them. not for safety reasons, but because the other two are filled with tourists. which, i know you'll technically be a tourist, but still
koreatown has great food, but terrible parking. it's also a cheapish place to stay. downtown LA is something I avoid because it just reminds me of the financial district of every city i've ever been to. the dtla library and the last bookstore are the only things worth going there for, personally, and it's also a very expensive place to stay.
little tokyo is very cute and manages to feel separate from city while being surrounded by it. i admittedly only go to chinatown for bakery runs, but it's all delicious and vey beautiful, especially if you've never been to a chinatown in a major city before
west hollywood is expensive, and i wouldn't stay there myself, but it has great brunch places and devastating parking rules. the most expensive parking ticked i ever got was in weho. burbank is the land of animation studios and also porto's. it's a really cute area. beverly hills exists and taking a walk on melrose is fun but i wouldn't linger. again, not safety, just terrible vibes.
i know this probably seems like a lot but i've actually only listed the more popular neighborhoods that i'm personally familiar with. los angeles is HUGE.
i hope this helps somewhat! and sorry to anyone who's neighborhood i've disparaged T_T

Live blogging hotel decision making because that’s just who I am.
Apartment 1 has a much better view, slightly better reviews and location is a cute little room, but is much more expensive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apartment 2 is cheaper, different location but still good and worse reviews (some mention broken faucets not being fixed and bathroom doors not closing), but it does have a balcony and a cute common area (plus communal kitchen and sink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I made a table to compare but of course I keep messing with the values 😂 I like the first apartment better but I don’t know if it’s worth the extra cost and if I’m just falling for pretty pictures

guide to jjk events when visiting japan!
a hopefully helpful post for when you are vacationing at japan and want to experience anything jjk-related!
all jjk events and pop-ups can be found on collabo cafe, here
For events like the jjk exhibition (the next one is from 4/19/2025 to 6/8/2025 in osaka i think), reserve your ticket as soon as possible as the days and time slots usually sell out quick! The exhibition uses the website “eplus,” which makes it hard for foreigners to reserve a ticket because you need a japanese name and address. Those might be easier to bypass as you can use a translation of your name and your hotel address, but the hardest part is needing a japanese phone number to verify your account via sms.
If you need a japanese phone number, I suggest calling the inquiry number on jujutsuten.com, the exhibition website. The help line might only take japanese inquiries, so if your call doesn’t work or you cannot call via an international number, try asking your hotel to make that call for you!
For pop-ups (i.e. collaborations with malls like loft), there usually isn’t a reservation required and it is first-come-first-served. However, the later you go to a pop-up from its start date, the more likely it is that specific goods are sold out. For example, sanrio x jjk merch was out of stock when compared to other goods in the last week of a pop-up. The location and time-span of a pop-up can be found on collabo! The benefit to going to a pop-up is getting limited edition goods, and if you spend a certain amount, there are freebies with your order.
For the weekly shonen jump (relevant for jjk until the end of september), weekly copies are typically sold in any konbini — 7-11, Lawson, or FamilyMart — starting Mondays at 5am local time. Leaks happen around the Thursday before at 12pm local time (i’m not even sure where leakers get their early copy 😭) and the new chapter is mass-released on Monday. WSJ is a thick book with several chapters from several mangas! it costs around 300 yen ($2.10 usd) for a copy. The WSJ also contains new exciting news, such as how jjk is ending soon. If you want to have a keepsake for the last few chapters before official volumes are released, the WSJ is a cheap option. Copies from the week before or older might not be sold in konbinis, so going to a bookstore like “animate” might help you get an archived copy.
Best places to shop for jjk merch, based on personal opinion. Your best choice is to go to Akihabara in Tokyo, which is basically anime-central.
Akihabara Radiokaikan- huge multiple-story building with floors for figurines, collectibles, and goods. I suggest K-Books on the 4th (?) floor for limited edition merch, as they re-sell goods from events like the jjk exhibition and jujufest. Just as a note, the characters do carry different price tags 😭. Gojo costs almost 3 times the amount of any other character.
Animate (any location in any city)- multiple-story building that sells mangas and goods. Lots of jjk blind-box merch. Animate separates its store by anime, so there should be a jjk section specifically. Manga is cheap and accessible; each volume costs around 480 yen and can be found in local bookstores as well. For reference, a translated copy of jjk costs around $10 usd and the raw japanese copy is $3.36 usd. Downside: if you can’t read japanese, the book is still pretty to just look at!
Other notable stores- Suruga-ya and amiami in akihabara. Figurines are cheaper in Japan!
Save your 100 yen coins for gacha machines!
All your jjk merch can be tax-free in certain stores, if you spend above 5000 yen! Tax-free will deduct that extra 10% from your price and make it cheaper! Only thing is, you’ll have to wait until after you leave Japan to open and use the goods. Bring your passport to stores 🫡
Hope this helps if you plan on going to Japan, and feel free to ask any questions! ❤️

Scouting in Hollywood today, and I happened to notice the ghost sign for the now-defunct Gilbert Hotel, which opened in the 1920s and likely served as a temporary residence for literally thousands of Hollywood aspirants over the years, given its central location off Hollywood Boulevard. By the 1930s, it was already known as a cheaper, third-rate establishment.
In the 1970s, Tom Waits would sing:
And now there's a place off the drag
Called the Gilbert Hotel
And now the couple letter
Burned out in the sign
And it's better than the bus stop
And they do good business every time it rains
For little girls with nothing in their jeans
Pretty blue wishes, sweet little dreams
Now the night clerk, he got a club foot
He's heard every hard luck story
At least a hundred times or more
He says, check out time is 10:00 a.m.
It has since become student housing.

Mastering European Travel: A Complete Planning Guide
Tumblr media
Europe is a dream destination for many travelers, offering a rich blend of history, diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, and culinary delights. Whether you’re planning to explore the romantic streets of Paris, wander through the ancient ruins of Rome, or hike the rugged Scottish Highlands, there’s something for everyone on this continent. However, to make the most of your European adventure, planning is key. In this comprehensive guide, we'll walk you through everything you need to know to master European travel, from budgeting and transportation to must-visit destinations and cultural tips.
1. Choosing Your European Destinations
Europe is vast, with over 40 countries to explore, each offering a unique experience. Depending on the length of your trip and your interests, you may want to focus on specific regions or cities.
Popular Regions to Consider:
Western Europe: France, Germany, Spain, the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
Southern Europe: Italy, Greece, Portugal, and Croatia.
Eastern Europe: Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, and Romania.
Northern Europe: Scandinavia (Denmark, Sweden, Norway), and Finland.
Central Europe: Austria, Switzerland, and Slovakia.
Key Considerations for Choosing Destinations:
Your Interests: Do you love art, architecture, history, nature, or food? Different cities and regions specialize in different experiences. Paris is perfect for art lovers, while history buffs may prefer Athens or Rome.
Budget: Northern and Western Europe tend to be more expensive, while Eastern and Southern Europe can offer more budget-friendly options.
Travel Seasons: Consider the time of year. Summer is popular but crowded, while winter can offer cheaper rates and a more authentic local experience (though weather may be an issue in some regions).
2. Setting a Travel Budget
Travel in Europe can range from affordable to luxurious depending on your choices for accommodation, dining, and activities. Here’s a breakdown of what you should consider while budgeting:
Accommodation
Hostels: Ideal for solo travelers or those on a budget. Many hostels in Europe are clean, safe, and offer private rooms as well.
Airbnb & Vacation Rentals: A great option for couples or families wanting more space and kitchen facilities.
Hotels: Mid-range hotels offer comfort without breaking the bank, while luxury travelers can indulge in Europe’s many five-star hotels.
Budget Tip: Look into staying in less-touristy areas or smaller towns outside major cities, where accommodation tends to be cheaper.
Transportation
Flights: Europe is connected by an extensive network of budget airlines (like Ryanair, EasyJet), but be mindful of extra baggage fees and airport locations, which can be far from city centers.
Trains: The European rail system is world-class, especially for intercity and regional travel. Consider a Eurail pass if you plan to visit multiple countries by train.
Buses: Companies like FlixBus offer affordable and extensive bus routes throughout Europe, a great option for budget travelers.
Car Rentals: If you plan to explore rural areas or smaller towns, renting a car might be the best option. However, parking in cities can be expensive and difficult.
Dining & Food
Street Food & Markets: Many European cities have excellent street food and local markets where you can sample delicious, authentic dishes at a fraction of the cost of dining in restaurants.
Cafés & Casual Dining: Lunch specials or “prix fixe” menus often provide good value for money.
Fine Dining: If you’re a foodie, Europe boasts some of the world’s best Michelin-star restaurants, but these will increase your food budget.
Activities & Sightseeing
Free Attractions: Many European cities have free attractions, such as parks, historical landmarks, and even museums on certain days of the week.
City Passes: Consider purchasing city passes (e.g., Paris Pass, Rome Card) that provide free or discounted entry to top attractions, as well as free public transportation.
Tours: Guided tours can be a great way to learn about a destination, but opt for group tours if you’re looking to save money.
3. Planning Your Transportation Around Europe
Getting around Europe is relatively easy thanks to its well-developed infrastructure. Here’s a breakdown of the main options:
Flights
Budget Airlines: Low-cost carriers such as Ryanair, Wizz Air, and EasyJet make it easy to hop between major European cities. Keep an eye out for flash sales and be mindful of hidden fees, such as those for checked luggage.
Major Airlines: For longer flights or transatlantic travel, consider full-service airlines like British Airways, Lufthansa, or Air France, which often offer more comfortable experiences.
Trains
Europe’s train system is one of the best in the world, making it easy to travel between countries and cities. Countries like Switzerland, France, and Germany have high-speed trains, while others, like Italy and Spain, also offer scenic routes.
Eurail Pass: If you’re planning to visit multiple countries, consider purchasing a Eurail pass, which offers unlimited train travel within a set period (e.g., 7 days, 1 month). This can be a cost-effective way to explore Europe, especially if you're covering long distances.
Buses
FlixBus & Eurolines: For budget travelers, buses are an affordable way to get around. They’re slower than trains but can be a great option for night travel, saving you both time and the cost of accommodation for a night.
Car Rentals
If you plan to explore remote or rural areas, renting a car can offer flexibility. However, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the local driving rules and road signs in each country, as they can vary significantly.
Public Transportation
Most European cities have excellent public transport systems, including buses, trams, and metros. You can buy day passes or city cards that offer unlimited travel for a set period. In cities like Paris, London, and Berlin, public transport is often faster and more convenient than driving.
4. Travel Tips for a Smooth European Experience
Understanding Schengen Zone Rules
Most of Europe is part of the Schengen Zone, which allows for visa-free travel between member countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. If you're visiting non-Schengen countries (e.g., the UK, Ireland, Romania), you'll need to check specific entry requirements. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after your return date.
Learning Basic Phrases
While English is widely spoken in many European countries, especially in tourist areas, learning a few basic phrases in the local language (hello, please, thank you) can go a long way in enhancing your experience and showing respect for the local culture.
Currency & Payments
Currency: The Euro is used by 19 of the 27 EU member countries, while others like the UK, Switzerland, and Scandinavian countries have their own currencies.
ATMs & Cards: Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, but it’s always a good idea to carry some cash, especially in smaller towns or rural areas where card payments may not be accepted.
Packing Tips
Pack Light: Europe’s cobblestone streets, narrow alleyways, and public transport systems can make it difficult to manage heavy luggage. Stick to a carry-on if possible.
Adapters: Europe uses different electrical outlets than the US or UK, so make sure to pack a universal adapter.
Safety & Travel Insurance
Europe is generally a very safe destination for travelers. However, it’s always a good idea to stay aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas where pickpocketing can be common.
Travel Insurance: Make sure to get travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and lost luggage.
5. Must-See European Cities and Experiences
While every traveler’s preferences will differ, here are some can’t-miss cities and experiences:
Paris, France
Highlights: The Eiffel Tower, Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and charming neighborhoods like Montmartre.
Tip: Visit in the early morning or late evening to avoid crowds at popular sites like the Eiffel Tower.
Rome, Italy
Highlights: The Colosseum, Vatican City, Roman Forum, and the delicious Italian cuisine.
Tip: Book your Vatican tickets in advance to skip the long lines.
Prague, Czech Republic
Highlights: The Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, Old Town Square, and the famous Astronomical Clock.
Tip: Visit during the shoulder season (spring or fall) to enjoy fewer crowds and milder weather.
Barcelona, Spain
Highlights: The architectural wonders of Antoni Gaudí, including the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, and the lively Las Ramblas.
Tip: Try to catch a local flamenco performance for a taste of Spanish culture.
Amsterdam, Netherlands
Highlights: The Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, and a boat ride through the iconic canals.
Tip: Rent a bike to explore the city like a local.
Edinburgh, Scotland
Highlights: Edinburgh Castle, Arthur's Seat, and the historic Royal Mile.
Tip: Visit during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August for a world-class arts festival.
Conclusion
Mastering European travel requires a mix of careful planning and the willingness to embrace spontaneous adventures. By setting a clear budget, choosing the right transportation, and familiarizing yourself with the regions and cultures of Europe, you’ll be well on your way to a memorable and stress-free journey. Europe’s rich history, vibrant cities, and breathtaking landscapes offer endless opportunities for exploration.

Hello Again, Paris
What a beautiful day! We woke up in Strasbourg, zipped our suitcases, and had a quick breakfast. We locked the door to the sweet apartment that has been our base all week and made the four minute walk to the train station. Once there we hopped on a train heading to PARIS. It really is that easy. The train pulled out right on time and we flew down the tracks to the City of Light. America is missing out, this really is such a relaxing way to travel. It's inexpensive and comfortable, plus the trains go SO fast. Strasbourg is about 306 miles from Paris and we made the trip in about 1.5 hours. This screen on the train showed us traveling at about 195 mph.
Tumblr media
All while seating in comfy chairs and reading (well, Mickey napped).
Tumblr media
We arrived at Gare l'Est and caught an Uber right to the door of our apartment. The driver was fun and chatty, his broken English and our broken French made for a delightful conversation. Lots of laughter.
Our spot here is just perfect. We like comfort, but not necessarily luxury. We like a good location, too, and we certainly got that. We're right across from Rue Cler our (everyone's) favorite market street, and just a couple blocks from the Eiffel Tower. We're in the 7th Arrondissement which is safe, lively, and just plain wonderful.
Here's our street.
Tumblr media
And here's our little pad for the next few days.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tucked into a corner is an itty, bitty kitchenette. Perfect frig for keeping cold drinks ad goodies from the market. We always pick up a a dozen eggs for quick breakfasts as well as some fruit. Who wants to cook on vacation?
Tumblr media
We never pay much for our lodging, usually $85-100 a day. Far, far cheaper than a hotel and so relaxing. Anyway, we dropped our bags and went in search of lunch. We were both starving. We decided to eat at the first spot with open tables, so we ended up eating Italian.
Tumblr media
I ordered carbonara, something that I love but rarely order because it's just so bad - fat , calories, and carbs galore.
Tumblr media
No regrets. I popped that yolk and stirred it all together before taking a bite and it was heavenly! After lunch we decided to stroll a bit (like I could walk that off!). Because it was late Sunday afternoon many of the stalls on Rue Cler were closing up, but we still had time to grab a few things for our frig.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We roamed and spotted places that we remembered - a restaurant where we had the best onion soup we'd ever tasted, a beautiful shady park near the Eiffel Tower, and so on. This really is such a wonderful city. Back at the apartment we relaxed for a bit, around 7 o'clock we started to get a little peckish, so we ate salad and some of our market bounty.
Tumblr media
Not the most beautiful meal, but it got the job done.
After dinner we strolled again, this time planning to end up at the Eiffel Tower. She's magnificent during the day, but at night she's extra special. We walked past sidewalk cafes filled with people, and made our way closer to the old gal.
Tumblr media
When we arrived we found a spot on the lawn with hundreds of other people and waited. In the evening, on the hour, she sparkles for ten minutes. It's beautiful.
Tumblr media
At 8'oclock on the dot, she started to sparkle and a cheer went up. We heard champagne popping, laughter, every language you can imagine, and there was even a proposal.
Tumblr media
What's not to love? It never fails to thrill me. We even took a very bad, out of focus selfie.
Tumblr media
So that's the end of a perfect day. Is there ever a bad day in Paris? Tomorrow we'll go up to Montmartre, a place we know we love. The next day we may take a train to see Versailles. We'll see what our moods are, we may just want to hang out and pretend to be Parisian. Until tomorrow, my dears. Stay safe, stay well, and have a treat - you deserve it. XOXO, Nancy

If you'd like to go to the trouble of saying - because I feel like it may be a lot to answer, and I fully understand not feeling like it - after reading your last line in the Cecil Hotel question, I'm very curious about what your opinion is on what the deal is with cemeteries and how they work? Is there something special about them as far as ghost interactions go, if only due to the emotion and energy that the living pour into those locations? Do they have a tendency to hold or attract ghosts? I've never really thought to go searching for ghosts before, because it always felt like my hometown was bursting with them by default and you could just go wherever, but, in hindsight, when I moved away to a much bigger city, the only time I felt like I was living in an active place (which was very on and off and varied, as if perhaps I was in the middle of a ghost highway, and gave me my one and only inexplicably scratched story, and was its whole own thing), I was living across the street from a big, older cemetery. Also, this isn't quite related, but I thought you might enjoy this fun fact: there is a tiny café built out of an old cottage in my hometown, smack in the midst of some cemeteries, which is possibly my favourite place ever, and it's called The Soup Witch. :)
[excitedly rubbing hands together]
So, I've got a whole post planned for down the line about cemeteries and the things I've experienced in them. But! For now, a shortish set of answers to your questions:
Is there something special about them as far as ghost interactions go, if only due to the emotion and energy that the living pour into those locations?
Yes and no! Anywhere people die is liable to have ghosts hanging around, like hospitals, retirement homes, and the like. Cemeteries have ghosts because that's where bodies are. People's spirits are tethered to their physical bodies, some more than others. It's another one of those things that's very individual. And yes, I think that the power of emotion, prayer, and memory supplies quite a bit of energy in cemeteries! That's why old cemeteries are often quiet and calm, and ones that are being used currently tend to have more activity.
I do also think that if you're trying to invoke a particular ghost after they've faded, their grave/burial site or urn (if they were cremated) is a very powerful place to do so.
It's just simpler, safer, cheaper, and easier to run into a ghost at a cemetery than it is to try and get into a place like the Cecil Hotel, pay out the nose for a tour, and then endure some guy's schtick which is intended to scare rather than inform. Plus, cemetery ghosts are usually pretty cool people.
Do they have a tendency to hold or attract ghosts?
Attract? No. I think they're already there by virtue of having been buried. Hold? Well, kinda. [gestures at the above answer] Tethers will do that, y'know?
... it always felt like my hometown was bursting with them by default ...
That's fairly common! Some places feel like they have a ton of spirits hanging around, others feel very empty. I'm not sure, personally, what makes that difference! However, I will say, in a lot of places that feel "full," the culprits aren't usually ghosts. It's more often other kinds of spirits, which can include ghosts.
Also, this isn't quite related, but I thought you might enjoy this fun fact: there is a tiny café built out of an old cottage in my hometown, smack in the midst of some cemeteries, which is possibly my favourite place ever, and it's called The Soup Witch. :)
.......... [adds this to the list of places I want to go someday]

pacifico wrld map__ ( wip )
something i miss BAD from old sims games is creating worlds , i'm too noob for the create a wrld mod so i'm NOT even gonna attempt . however , the most i can do is rename the worlds and organise them in a way i imagine they could be laid out and how they connect , even if the worlds connected are based on VASTLY different places .. it's my sims game and my imagination so back off ToT scroll for world names and descriptions !
urban sector__ san my shuno
urban sector is the heart of pacifico , known for the nightlife , the daytime travels and it's eco initiative despite being the epitome of pollution . all new builds throughout pacifico are built with high-tech eco appliances made by H&B and are covered in greenery . most of the sims living in urban sector are either living there to be closer to the bustling opportunities work the city has to offer .. or the wilder sims who are looking for an exciting nocturnal lifestyle . many up-coming celebrities live in the penthouses or luxury apartments in the city , it's the perfect place to network and establish a name for yourself .
terra nova__ san sequoia
the north of terra nova is more of a semi-suburban haven . just like urban sector , it's a completely modern & green city and also uses the same high-tech eco appliances provided by H&B . it's an easy 20 minute drive to the city which makes it very accessible for bigger households who need to be close to the city for work or purely for the sims that can be taken out of the city but can't take the city out of them . living on the outskirts of the city can also be peaceful for the sims that can't cope with the noisy nightlife . to the south of terra nova is an even quieter suburban neighbourhood with blissful surroundings , it's also cheaper than living in the city / on the city outskirts so sims who aren't able to make it in yet still have a chance to try and achieve the lifestyle / residence of their dreams by living just about 40 - 60 minutes away from urban sector .
nexoria__ widenburg
nexoria is a city for upper-class sims n celebrities who are looking to settle down and live a more suburban lifestyle , especially since the city has a private school . the flight from nexoria > urban sector is around an hour n the drive is roughly 3-4 . the neighbourhoods of nexoria are fairly quiet , however the town can get quite intense at night given most of the inhabitants are the children of upper-class sims and celebrities who are teens - young adults .
full moon bay__ copper dale
nexoria is for the upper-class rich sims , however full moon bay is the town for the middle class sims . nexoria has an expensive private high school , full moon bay has it's public one . even though full moon bay is home to the middle-class sims , it's a very homey city and still loved by it's citizens .
pacific heights__ del sol valley
pacific heights is the home to two types of sims , the retired celebrities who live in the hills and are looking to finally relax and take a break from the amazing lives they've lived , and the sims who live on the coast who are aspiring to eventually become the sims who live in the hills . the south west of pacific heights is the main celebrity hot spot , all of the locations are expensive and catered to the celebrities who live in the city , and those locations are absolutely perfect for the newcomers as the chances of them meeting agents , scouts , managers and global superstars are all increased .
lucky palms__ oasis springs
the sin city of pacifico , lucky palms . lucky palms is mainly a vacation city , and for the sims who do live there they're living it up in high-end apartments and luxury suites . lucky palms is full of casinos , hotels , bars , restaurants strip malls and hotels . it's also home to many bachelors and bachelorettes but it also has it's dark side . despite some of the lucky palms that resides in lucky palms , it's the perfect city for a weekend away .

Road trip with eddie road trip with eddie ROAD TRIP WITH EDDIE IMAGINE, like you're vibing to music in the car or sitting on the roof of it while he plays guitar at night or doing random picnics whenever you see a pretty field, STAR GAZING AND SO MUCH MORE AHHHHHHH
A road trip with Eddie would be something he’s planned for ages. He’s saved up money, thought about things on the cheap, and when you both graduate together, you’re going to get out of this shitty town that hates him, and go on a summer road trip.
Eddie’s van is stacked with all the essentials, as well as pillows and blankets, so you two can sleep there for cheaper. You say goodbye to Wayne for a little while, as well as your family and friends, and all Wayne asks for is a hat for Eddie to bring back, to add to his collection. Mostly though, he asks for you both to stay safe, and for you to keep his boy out of trouble.
His sweetheart is of course along for the ride, he can’t abandon her! Plus, Eddie does think about how he’s going to he playing her for you a lot, on grass, or picnic blankets, or on top of his van. He thinks about bringing his acoustic too, but he needs the space. Plus, maybe someone will hear him playing for you on one romantic evening, and secretly be a talent scout or something! Anything to make a buck, especially on the road with you, and especially to add to the adventure!
Every night, every day, is like a date with Eddie! You two do get a lot of alone time usually, either out in the world, or with Wayne not home, but this is totally different. You have so much freedom! Plus there’s no worries Wayne or your family or any of your friends are gonna walk in while you two thought you were home alone, and doing a workout in the bedroom. Eddie parks pretty discreetly if you two wanna do that, or you may be in a hotel room for the night. He’s not gonna put in any less effort, or be quiet, or subtle, Eddie would never do such a thing, but he also guesses you don’t want some nosy grandma or a police officer snooping around the rocking vehicle either.
The whole year leading up, you’d both marked locations you want to visit. Although Eddie is very fun and adventurous, so he’ll do a detour if in a 7/11 you guys are getting your next meal from, there’s a brochure for somewhere fun just a town away. Why not! Not like you two will ever be back in... oh, Colorado, back in Colorado again!
At least not for the foreseeable future. Eddie saved up a lot, for years for this road trip he always a wanted to have after graduating. So while you two try to be as cheap as possible in some aspects, you don’t have to worry about money if you want to go visit a new place or attraction. Eddie loves the spontaneity! And if he gets an idea in his head, it’s bouncing around until his feet are firmly planted in the intended location. You’re free to do what you want, as young people, in love, out in the world.
Sometimes Eddie will want to take you on a date, on what he’s already affectionately entitled ‘the worlds longest date.’ So if you haven’t passed anywhere super fun for a while, he’ll take you to a diner for a full meal, milkshakes and desert, instead of snacks from a gas station, a hot dog vender, or sharing a burger from McDonald’s. He always wants to keep things new and exciting. And when you two are fed up with junk food, it’s time for a picnic, filled with so many fruits, and cheese, and wine Eddie convinced the cashier to sell in 80’s America. He even leaves a chocolate bar on his dashboard right, under the windshield for a while, to melt it, so he can try and make a little dip for chocolate covered strawberries for you. The man never stops trying for you.
Eddie wants to visit every state he can in his van, that he made sure was perfectly healthy before setting off into the sunset with you. Obviously places like Alaska and Hawaii aren’t exactly on the table, but for years, and especially in recent years, this hasn’t just been a road trip. It’s not just been a celebration. Or a milestone in his young adult life. And you know it. Eddie’s trying to find if there’s a spot for him in this country, that really sings out to him. Somewhere he could escape Hawkins too.
And with you knowing that, Eddie really dives into your opinion too. After all, even if you wanted to move to his least favourite, most boring, most cookie cutter hell on earth place, Eddie would always follow you to hell and back, because all Eddie wants most, is to be with you. So no matter what, Eddie will follow you anywhere. Because these states aren’t his future, his travels and new experiences aren’t, you are his future. And now he’s finally graduated with you, and had a summer just dedicated to being a fun young perosn in love, travelling around without a care, he can’t wait to somewhat settle down with you. In a place where you both belong, together.

Jensen: -“I hope (laughs) I hope you’re good, man.” (audience laughs)
And, uh, And we hit it off right away. You know, we-we, umb-uh, He’s, uh, he’s a- he’s a good- good kid from Texas. And I grew up in Texas as well. So, we had a lot of- a lot in common, uh, there. And-and we- we just hit off right away. And we got into the room and-and there was just kind of.. instant brother chemistry. And, uh, (audience aw’s) he’s got an older brother-
Hey, easy. (audience laughs) If you repeat any of this to him I’ll kill you. (audience laughs)
Audience member: No chick flicks! (Jensen and audience laugh)
Jensen: So, uh, so there was that instant, uh-uh, connection in- in the acting. And, uh, iiit-it just worked. You know, he’s got an older brother. So, he was able to- you know he was very familiar with that. And, I got a brother too, so- so I was familiar. And it just- It worked. And, um.. uh. The executives all stood up in the room and gave us a standing ovation and said, “Congratulations.” (audience laughs) And I was like, “Well, thanks. I mean, great.” (audience laughs, claps, and cheers)
I did- I did do much better than he did in the room. (audience laughs)
Moderator: That’s what he says as well. (audience laughs)
Jensen: He’s lying. (audience laughs)
• (1:18)- Asylum07A;Qa2 – filming in California vs Vancouver, Kim Manners
Moderator: (? Sometimes you noticed that the pilot and say?), “Do you think that was shot in California, wasn’t it?”
Jensen: Yes, the pilot was shot, uh, in and around, uh, Los Angeles. Uhm, and, uh, And- uww- We actually thought the show would be- You know, that the series if-if it got picked up would be shooting in Los Angeles. I know I was excited about that because I’m working at Vancouver on Smallville. (audience laughs) And I actually called up Tom Welling, and I was like, “Hahhahhah.” (audience laughs) “I’m going to LA bud.”
And, um.. he got the final laugh on that because (audience laughs), uhhh, when they did pick it up at th-at the eleventh hour they were like, “Eeeeh, listen we’ve done the math and we-we’ve run the numbers and it’s just going to be cheaper for us to film it in Vancouver. So…” (audience laughs) (tilts head) “Pack it up kid.” (audience laughs) Uuuh, so that was- th-but it- but it’s been good. Vancouver is great. And, uh, amazing crew up there. I’m very familiar with it, and so there’s nothing new. So, it’s-it’s-uh, I’m very excited. That’s a good question.
Moderator: Yeah. (? Peace is undeserved?) A veritable industry, TV (? at their hours for every shows that’s been made.?) And-
Jensen: It is.
Moderator: Hollywood North as they put it.
Jensen: Yes, Hollywood North. That’s- that’s what they call it dow- And, you know, it’s- it’s just really flourished in the past, uh, you know, 15-20 years. I think, uh, “21 Jump Street” really kind of (audience cheers) kicked off the industry.
Uh, and actually, uh, a story there.. the- the director of the pilot.. of “21 Jump Street”.. is.. “Supernatural” ’s very own Kim Manners. (audience cheers and claps) Sooo. Yeah. (nods) So, we’re very fortunate to have him. He’s- He’s been, uh- He’s been quite a- quite an asset to the show.
Moderator: Yeah. You can also (? go to?) “X-Files” (?which is the other breach??)
Jensen: Absolutely. Yeah.
Moderator: (?Which is the?) promenade side of the Vancouver flim industry. How long was it, and what sort of times (?gackles between each other?) being in “the Pilot” being done (?And your shenanigans being gone for a series?)
Jensen: Uuum. There’s usually, um, (rubs forehead) So, we finished the- shooting the pilot around the end of March. And then I think, probably about a month went by before they were, uh- Before they gave us the official word. And, uh- and yeah. So, it was, uh, it was a very long-

Jensen_saturday_2 by sin attract • (0:00)- Asylum07A;Qb – Kripke’s vision
Jensen: -Uh, with Eric Kripke for, you know, for a length of time of just about- for the arc of the characters and where they were going and we knew he had a (gestures to his head) map in his head. And we knew that he- he had done tons of research. And this was actually a project that he had been, uh, kind of working on and building for at least seven years. So, he- he really- he really done a lot of (?talk?) and put a lot of thought into it.
So, we knew we were in good hands, and-and- and I kind of like the- the ideas that he had. And-and I knew it was going to be, uh, you know, it- We’re on to something cool. Yeah.

Jensen: -Constantly, uh, you know, pleading with the- with Eric to- to write in more series regulars. (laughs) (audience chuckles) We’re like, “We need some help here, man. You know?” (audience giggles)
Uhh, we do, because we- we work, uh, you know everyday. And, uh, you know, twelve to fifteen hours Monday through Friday. And it’s- it’s, uh- It’s a very, very taxing schedule. Um, but, you know, that’s, uh- that’s what you get when the show’s about, you know, two characters.
Uumm, even with “X-Files” you had- you had the reoccurring regulars, you know. And-and the Fbi agents, and the-the informants and then the (?smokey manaid?) and things like that, who were always around. And, you know, could kind of handle the a little bit of the work load. Um, but with the, you know, “Supernatural,” it’s, uh- We come and go through so many towns. And, you know, the guest stars come in and then they’re gone. And that’s it. That’s back to the boys, and here we go, off in the car. (audience chuckles)
Moderator: (?How are you actually filming that?)

Jensen: Um. Ummm. (audience laughs) …(laughs) Well (rubs eye) uh, as a- as a kid, uuuhh, my-my-ish- Indiana Jones (audience cheers and claps) (nods) Um, and to this day I-I still think of that as such a cool character. (audience laughs) And, uh, you know, other than that- I mean, come on you got your- you got your James Bonds-

The audience laughs. Jensen looks away and smiles. Some of the audience claps. Jensen leans forward a little and then rocks back. The audience giggles. Jensen rubs his eyes with the back of his hands and makes a scrunched face. The audience starts talking to themselves.
Jensen: (?It seems I do that?) all the time. (audience laughs) Uhhh, I’ve never been asked that question. (audience laughs) That’s a good question.
Fan: (?I know.?)
Jensen: Um, (holds a finger to the audience) the first part of the question you were asking if we played any practical jokes? Is that it?
Audience: yes.
Jensen: Uh, Jared and I.. have-have found that it’s better to- to stick together as a team. (audience laughs) Um, as opposed to going at each other. (smiles) (audience laughs) Um, but I mean we have gotten a few in.
Um, we, uhh..h.. about the middle of season.. season 2, um, (waves) our trailers, uh, kind of broke down, actually both of them at the same time. (audience giggles) (chuckles) It was- (gestures) It was a big move. It was a big rainstorm, (gestures) thunderstorm. And then, for whatever reason, in the move they-they were kind of busted the nut working and it was leaking. (grimaces) And so, uh- um, before we got there were like, you know, (briefly raises hand up) “Come on guys. Let’s-let’s-let’s go home.” (laughs) “The trailer is just, like, a foot of water in here.”

Asylum 07 - Jensen's panel - Impalas by dullemarulle **• (0:00)- Asylum07A;Qf – Impala 67
Jensen: -No, absolutely. (rubs forehead) We actually got about, uhhh, like four or five of them now. Uuum, and they- they serve different purposes. We got- we kind of got the hero one, we call it. That’s the one that- that I drive most of the time. (audience laughs) (shrugs)
And, uh, and then we got the stunt car, which is, uh, which is really kind of just tricked out with, uh, you know, uh-uh, power break- uh, big, uh, big heavy sliding breaks. And uuum, you know, a-a beefier engine and-and (wiggles hand) a certain, um, (gestures) certain stuff that makes it, you know, (briefly leans forward) (?skid it place on bode?), and things like that.
And then we got a mincer car that’s just used for, uum, when Jared and I are sitting and things (mimics scenery passing) are going by behind us but we’re actually just sitting on stage. (audience laughs) (nods)
The magic of film making, uhhm.
Jensen Ackles talking about his music by dullemarulle • (0:00)- Asylum07A;Qg – Singing

And I, you know, I-I got friends that are musicians and in fact, uh, you’ll be seeing one of them tonight. (audience cheers and claps) (nods) A very, very, very close friend of mine Jason Manns (gestures to his left) who’s sitting right over here.
Um, and the reason I-I’d-I’m- have sang back up and probably never, like, really sing is because of friends like my friend Jason Manns over here. (audience chuckles) Ahh, because they’re really- I mean is s-so good. And, when you- when you, you know, you see that kind of talent and-and you realize that, “Man, that’s just, uh-” (gestures) Well, I know when to take a backseat. (audience chuckles)
Um, but I-I- I enjoy playing the guitar. I enjoy just kind of jamming out with my buddies. And, uh- So, that’s-that’s pretty- (gestures) that’s what I get out of it. You know, it’s very therapeutic to just sit and.. sit and jam out for a little bit.
Manns: You want to Jam out tonight?

Jensen: (looks down) Ohhh, you’ll pay for that (?in a moment?). (audience laughs) (looks up) We’ll see. I- (audience screams)
