#lmk mk au

Wanted to draw my boy but nothing was coming out right, so have some traditional drawing I worked on earlier.

Here's some sketches for one of my aus involving two of my ocs (though this only has one of them)

I like to call this au Monkey Twins since Mk and Xiaoyue are twins and they are the kids of Bao (my oc) and Wukong. However Wukong doesn't know about this because of when Bao got pregnant, which was when the Monkey King was journeying westward.

Mk still ends up as Monkey King's successor while Xiaoyue still ends up with Macaque being her mentor. This slowly leads to Wukong suspecting who the kids could be related to since Mk doesn't know who his father is. Yet doesn't get confirmation on that until later on when running into Bao and seeing the twins call her mom.

I had an au idea for the twins (Xiaoyue and Mk) where they were Mk was raised by Monkey King and Xiaoyue was raised by Macaque. Neither one knew about the other until Mk meets Macaque and ends up meeting Xiaoyue. Both are confused, but Mk is too focused on being trained by Macaque to give it much thought while Xiaoyue stays quiet about it. It's only after the fight with Monkey King that she actually brings it up with Macaque.

Macaque doesn't have much of an explanation, but brushes it off as some weird coincidence. Xiaoyue doesn't fully believe this, but doesn't bring it up again. Meanwhile, Mk asks Monkey King about it and he's just as clueless about it. However, from the way the two have similar features he speculates that the two are most likely related, maybe even twins. Yet he can't be certain since when he found Mk he didn't see any other babies where he found him.

Monkey King did raise Mk on Flower Fruit Mountain, but also had some help from Pigsy and Tang. Only because in this au Pigsy is Bajie and Sandy is Wujing, but the two go by Pigsy and Sandy nowadays. The three still keep in contact, which is why Wukong gets help from them. Tang is a lot tamer around Monkey King because of how often they've seen each other since Mk was definitely a handful as a child.

Macaque raised Xiaoyue by himself, which was stressful because of her having powers like his. However, he wouldn't complain because she was actually more well-behaved. She was also a quick learner so teaching her lessened his stress. Though he does at times forget she's only human and pushes her too far with some of their training, which has resulted in her pushing herself too much when she's reached her limit. He doesn't mean to do this, but he just wants her to be able to hold her own in a fight against demons and other beings.

I'm still working on the details, but I already have some ideas for it. I'm going to be calling this Seperated Twins AU so if you have any questions about it, just remember to make it clear which au you're talking about. So I had this idea for an au after watching Jujutsu Kaisen. Basically the idea is that Mk gets sort of possessed by pre-journey Wukong.

So everything pretty much starts the same way it did in A Hero Is Born, but when Mk makes it to Flower Fruit Mountain in search of Monkey King, he doesn't at first. Instead he finds the gold circlet and is drawn to it. Before Wukong can stop the kid, Mk puts it on. Which initially has no real effect on him, other than it's now stuck on his head. Instead of focusing on that Mk gets Monkey King's help to stop DBK and everything goes as it normally does. However, Mk starts slowly becoming more monkey like (mentally and physically) and starts behaving similarly to how Wukong used to. The circlet is affecting Mk, which worries him because he is having to fight the impulse to actually end someone's life. So on top of everything that Mk has to deal with in canon, he has to find a way to remove the circlet before he ends up having to go on his own journey to the west.

Of course Mk is a lot better at controlling his impulses compared to Wukong was and is overall better at finding more peaceful ways to solve things (even if that includes beating someone up). Other than Mk's newfound impulses and monkey features, all is pretty tame for the Monkey King's successor. Though he does cause Wukong to remember things from his past that he doesn't want to remember, but has to in order to help Mk with his struggles. Plus it causes Wukong to be more proactive in the kid's life in order to make sure that Mk won't actually give into killing someone because it's the easiest way to deal with them and help Mk with becoming a monkey. (Which may or may not be permanent depending on if they can remove the circlet).

That's all I have. I might draw some art for this au idea, but idk. Though I really enjoy this au idea. Ask questions about it if you'd like.

Also I hope I haven't offended anyone in anyway, what I mean here's is that he's AFAB, and he looked at the two of them and went "mmh... I mean, they look AMAB but I could be wrong so-" since technically he's biologically a mix of the two. So his question was more of a "why did Nuwa made me AFAB if this is the case." If there's a better way to write the dialouge lemme know.

And with that the “Training Arc 2:Electric Boogaloo” is done! Next part will be coming this Friday, but I’ll post another Q&A post on Wednesday, as well I’ll be drawing the AU live on my Twitch page at 1PM ET!
