She is 8 years old, but is the middle child

She loves being the center of attention, and has lots of sass

She can be very competitive since she wants to be the best

She’s a social butterfly, unlike her twin brother

Despite her pigtails resembling peaches, she doesn’t like the actual fruit

She can juggle objects

She’s a huge prankster

His voice is Charlie Brown from Peanuts

He is 8 years old, but the youngest child

He’s level-headed and is very smart

MK gave him the monkey plushie, and he named it “Pie”

He is very curious with the world around him, leading to him exploring places constantly

He prefers to express himself with his actions instead of words

He can climb walls

He has a passion for drawing

He can say the most outrageous things or just a few sentences

Been seeing this headcanon on twitter that hua cheng's true form is actually terrifying but since xie lian is a fool in love all we see in his perspective is a really handsome guy

not that anybody asked but, and i mean it with my whole heart, my favorite moment in tgcf is at the very end of book 4:

‘As he walked down the path, Xie Lian suddenly noticed there was a tiny, little red flower on the side of the road, quite precious. He crouched down, gently touching its petals, feeling quite cheerful.

He said to it, "I hope we shall meet again."

Even after he had gone into the distance, that tiny, little red flower was still dancing in the wind.’

after all that pain and humiliation and regret, xie lian can still give himself this small moment where his heart is lifted. and the image of the flower in the wind is seared into my mind’s eye. beautiful beautiful beautiful….

I don’t normally post tgcf stuff on this account but I have to share a dream I had:

In my dream, Xie Lian was in an idol group with some other gods (they’re human in this tho) and he somehow accidentally texts Hua Cheng who was a huge fanboy of Xie Lians ever since he was a solo artist but Xie Lian doesn’t know that, so they continue texting cause Hua Cheng has nothing better to do and Xie Lian likes the fact that there’s someone who talks to him without knowing who he is. But one day Hua Cheng brings up the idle group and Xie Lian goes to text him “I don’t love Xie Lian, he’s kind of annoying” but he accidentally tweets it from the groups main twitter account (which has millions of followers) cause he sucks with technology and was using a blackberry or a razor flip phone (you know the one). This sends the internet into a frenzy trying to figure out who in the group or on the account that hates Xie Lian and people speculating and theorizing. Meanwhile Xie Lian is like “oops” and can’t seem to find a way to explain the situation to anyone, Hua Cheng is going crazy with the theories, and Mu Qing gets the blame thrown on him but Feng Xin defends him cause I love some good fengqing.

i came across a phrase i found interesting while i was doing my research project (save me) (all roads lead back to research for me) and the thought has stuck in my head and i got hit with the urge to share it here lol

the term “lotus eater” refers to one who is indulgent in pleasure and luxury and lives in a dreamy, forgetful, idle state (there are two definitions, one associated with greek mythology and the other just referring to a self-indulgent person. i combined the terms for the purpose of this lil analysis thing)

- hua cheng probably sees himself as thus, especially since he sees xie lian as the pinnacle of purity and goodness, like a lotus

- he sees himself as just a dreamer, unworthy in a way of having xie lian. he doesn’t deserve him, so he tries his best to do things that makes him worthy of xie lian’s love and attention

- every time he gets close to xie lian, and indulges himself with a small touch, or words, or gifts, he feels even more like a lotus eater. he takes his dianxia’s kindness as his own. he is indulgent in the pleasure of his attention and the luxury of his proximity. he is burdening his love with these things (or so he thinks)

- meanwhile, xie lian likely views himself as a false lotus, as qi rong says, only pretending to be pure

- he knows he has violent thoughts and he’s done bad things before, things that weren’t the best (WHICH WE DON’T BLAME HIM FOR, HE WAS SO YOUNG)

- but he seems to despise himself for these things sometimes, faulting himself for his impulses and desires and thoughts

- lotus eater and false lotus respectively, they see the worst in themselves

- yet, they see only the best in each other and wish the other saw that good in themselves

HELLOOOO TGCF NATION!!! TODAY I BRING YOU AN AU IDEA‼️🫵

So I've been watching this show called Monk lately and MY GOSH I love it- so very normal about it that my brain went "Skip!! What if we made an au inspired by this!!"

And so I present to you:

A tgcf detective au!

Where Xie Lian is the best detective there- who can figure out every single case no matter how impossible it seems, but his luck is so terrible that something always goes wrong (like his evidence suddenly missing) and eventually, he gets laid off the force.

Hua Cheng on the other hand, has looked up to Xie Lian ever since they were at the academy and Xie Lian defended him in a case where he was wrongfully accused (also the case that made Xie Lian popular)

Hua Cheng now, is said to be a "good luck charm" because whoever has him on their team ALWAYS ends up solving their cases!! Like wherever he goes evidence will just pop up so he's seen as someone super lucky

On hearing about what happened to Xie Lian, he offers to work with him to solve cases and prove that xl is capable and can get back in the force.

They'd balance each other out and although people think they're an unusual duo, they seem to work pretty well together!!

I haven't thought much about the side characters but so far I'm thinking they work for a detective agency headed by Jun Wu, who has the public persona of an angel but he's secretly into some pretty shady stuff,,,,

Let's just say Xie Lian's cases where evidence went missing,,, most of them might've been from cases Jun Wu would've been involved in.

Y'all know I am an AVID fengqing enjoyer so ofc we have those two, always bickering but being the best duo, always able to bounce off of each other, always getting paired to go on missions together‼️‼️

Yin Yu and Yizhen?? Maybe Yin Yu landed the role of a secratary even though he always wanted to be a detective. Yizhen is someone who kinda just tagged along with him but ended up getting the detective job instead of him. Which is messy but he buys him coffee every break they have cuz he has a massive crush on him. Don't tell him I told you that tho. Not that he's trying hard to hide it.

I came up with this au pretty recently so I haven't fully figured it out yet!! But I do like the idea a lot :D
