Hello! I’m sorry for spamming your notifs, but I was going through your Franz posts (I’ve been in love with this band for the past 2 yrs) and I’ve never heard about the Alex dms. Can you further expound on this? I’ve tried looking it up using different keywords but I’m not getting anything and I’m trying to figure out how to more ethically consume the music I love and keep calling myself a Franz fan. A lot of the girls have only come to me privately and I don’t have any screenshots of my DMs with Alex but basically what you need to know is throughout the 2010s, Alex would form platonic but inappropriate bonds with young girls who interacted with him on social media, mostly Twitter and later Instagram. In some cases, Alex would meet up with girls irl and hang out with them in their city.

In my case in particular, he told me not to tell anyone we were talking. I was 13 when he first DMed me and we stayed in contact until I was 17. It was never anything inappropriate in a vacuum, however it was very very wrong for him to seek validation and affirmation from teenage girls. A lot of us share the experience of going to him for advice and him feeling very satisfied by helping us. Like I said, he would hold a lot of things over our heads and would be ‘disappointed’ if we did something he didn’t approve of — like telling people we were talking, or drinking coffee (he hates coffee), or playing ukulele (what’s his deal???). He’s really charming and has a way of getting in your head. He makes you feel special and then takes the attention away from you. He makes you fawn. He makes you need him.

Where it gets freaky is when a sex worker reached out to me and told me that my story concerned her bc she hooked up with Alex and used the same protective and fatherly tone/language he used with me while they were hooking up. He mentioned being older than her, being old enough to be her father in particular, and feeling like he had to protect her.

I know I don’t have screenshots of any of this and that makes it hard to believe but like I said, these girls came to me in private, and in my case, I don’t have access to the DMs anymore and I don’t have any screenshots. Alex likely still has them all on his end but obviously he’d never hand them over lmfao. I deleted the 2015 DMs when my parents found them and got locked out of the account with the 2018 DMs. I can ask around to see if anyone has anything they’re willing to share publicly, but it’s not rly my business

Also, in order to be an ethical Franz fan, I’d recommend just not directly seeking interaction with Alex, especially if you’re under 18. Alex seemed to have stopped doing this (at least to my knowledge) when his relationship with Clara got serious/went public, which all the more points to it being a sexual thing. Especially since a lot of the girls he DMed have similar traits.

No, I totally understand wanting to be able to at least define what kind of relationship your in - be with FWB or one night stand. I know in movies, shows, fics etc there is a lot of just hooking up on the fly - but in my personal experience (I’m pretty experience, not bragging just stating facts) I’ve never just hooked up with a friend out of nowhere. I have had one night hook ups and have been FWB with two people before - but there had been things leading to that point. Flirtation, talking, etc. I’ve never really dated someone, mostly hooked up until I met my husband. It does seem kinda crazy to just fuck your friend but most cases, I think there is a build up. When I write fics, I try to make that build up apparent but I’m pretty sure I’ve been guilty of just having characters randomly hook up but there’s always a conversation afterwards. I don’t think the real work works like that fully. When it comes to not realizing your feelings and hooking up with someone else, only to realize said feelings - not a fan of that in writing either. I get it though for plot reasons, but I think there are better ways to convey that.

so, as we all know, the elder scrolls is a pretty racist game series. this is a well known and pretty indisputable fact, demonstrated by things like the heavy anti indigenous racism, the orientalism with the dunmer and other stuff, but something i personally haven't really seen talked about is the incredible amount of anti romanism w/ the khajiit. which, yknow, i'm not exactly upset over as the vast majority of tes fans aren't romani, but! it's still bad and it makes me so goddamn uncomfortable at the best of times! i don't deserve to have panic attacks over the amount of racism that is subjected to my eyes over cat people! so here is my public service announcement

note: i'm not like, 100% sure the writers of the elder scrolls were intending any of this or meaning to code the khajiit as romani, and i'm not going to claim that, but that doesn't change that i have seen people use real life nazi propaganda to justify why the nords are right to hate the khajiit or that most people who notice these things read the khajiit as romani lmfao so! and i'm also not an authority on this and i don't want to be treated like one. this is just my romani opinion, other romani people might have differing opinions and that's alright. gadje don't get to argue w/ me abt any of this tho ❤

so anyways, most of the romani coding comes from skyrim, by way of introducing the khajiit caravans, full of people hailing from a south asian coded country with a history of slavery, that travel from city to city, relying on nomadicism, due to being barred from the cities because of stereotypes that paint the khajiit as thieves and drug addicts who face racism as a result of things like that.

if you know anything about the romani, this probably sounds familiar! as we're also a south asian diaspora who are traditionally nomadic and have been enslaved, who face severe racism and are heavily stereotyped to be thieves and drug addicts. i've even personally been told that i'm dirty trash who shouldn't be allowed in a city! fun.

this alone isn't a problem. i would love to have some representation, even in the form of cat people, and if this was all there was with the khajiit and romani coding i would honestly be overjoyed! but alas.

the problem is that the khajiit are actually portrayed as thieves and drug users within the games. in ESO, the baandari clan honor the bandit god and follow a code that allows thievery, and practice fucking fortune telling. in skyrim, in skyrim, ri'saad is a fence for the thieves guild who accepts the offer after being given moon sugar and ahkari is hinted to be involved with to the skooma trade. the khajiit overall are cultural drug users, and while there is absolutely nothing wrong with cultural drug use and drug use in general i hope you can see why its bad in this context.

and even with all of this, if this was where it began and end, it wouldn't be that bad. as far as i know, this is all accidental, and none of this is what keeps me up at night. what bothers me is how fans react to the romani elements of the khajiit.

i've had to see the use of the g word, something that is personally very triggering to me, almost everywhere, both casually and in a demeaning manner. i've seen the khajiit described as the scum of tamriel that live in scum infested sewers hooked on skooma and live off of imperial assistance (which is another thing that i've been told in regards to my people, that we're scum who live off of government assistance). i've seen khajiit called useless drug addicts who have no home. i've seen people say they see khajiit as dirty, filthy gypsies and tend to imagine skinning them for wall hangers.

it's tiring. it fucking hurts on a whole different level to see a slur utilized against your people and against you everywhere, hurts to know that people still view you and your people as a dirty and subhuman, and i'm honestly pretty done if we're being honest. tes has been ruined for me because of this stuff. and i'm not even asking for y'all to pay for me Ethnic Therapy Tm lol all i'm asking is that gadje learn about anti romanism and what that means, learn how they can support romani people, that they stop using the g word and perpetuating anti romani things, and that y'all don't let others get away with racism against romani people anymore

quinn. quinn quinn quinn. these are the kinds of questions i LIVE FOR. unfortunately i could write a short essay on most any topic in this au, SO i’m gonna put my long ass response under the cut. apologies in advance LMFAO

short answer: not…really?

long answer: kind of. so, let me go over the timelines for a second here (indulge me my friend) and then get into my thoughts on the matter

in canon, jango gets recruited by dooku in his early 30s, with the clones and boba being created around the time of tpm.

in the clone dad jango au, jango is recruited about a decade or so earlier than that, and while boba isn’t born until later (around the time of tpm), jango goes through his 20s training and getting to know his clones, which 1. makes him less hardened by age and 2. forces him to interact with the clones without boba as a buffer or his “real family” for a very long time.

when i hc jango and hondo being together in the canon timeline, i always imagine that they spent more time together in their 20s. jango didn’t have a son or duties to kamino at that time, so it would make sense that he’d spend more time with “friends”/“lovers” (or at least, his rare free time wouldn’t be spent training clones or caring for boba).

this means that in the clone dad jango au, jango and hondo have hooked up a couple of times and maybe have a strange sort of bond that’s formed, but the frequency and duration of their relationship just isn’t there bc we’ve carved away a whole decade’s worth of free time they’d have spent together.

now, in any timeline, i hc hondo and jango as being exceptionally open. they don’t hold each other to any promises of commitment or have any expectations, bc obviously their professional lives don’t really allow for that, and they know there are others in their lives who mean something to them, for better or for worse (hondo and aurra, jango and zam, etc etc). but i do think that hondo, at the very least, interprets this as meaning “we don’t commit to anyone else, either”. jango, meanwhile, is a little loose and fast with his interpretations.

so what i’m trying to say is: bc they don’t ever discuss it (bc jango hates talking about his feelings and hondo hates laying his vulnerabilities on the table), hondo is somewhat blindsided by piik. piik and jango don’t get together for a while, but hondo can tell pretty easily that there’s something between them, and it’s not just sexually charged (though there is that), it’s emotionally intimate. so hondo is more miffed that jango didn’t think it might be prudent to mention that he has a boyfriend (“he doesn’t even like me, hondo.” “no, my friend, he does not. but he loves you.”), and, more importantly, has settled down, bc hondo would just like to know where he stands with people - it makes him feel secure in himself and in his choices.

that being said, i think it’s pretty easy for them to move past it - again, this relationship has had far less time to develop, and while hondo would be miffed, he wouldn’t be hurt or offended. just vaguely irritated. i don’t think that jango and hondo would continue to hook up (or if they did, it would be only before piik and jango got together and likely only when they were both extremely stressed and somehow stuck together).

and while i’m a huge fan of polycules, especially for mandalorians, and can even see jango and piik being in one, i can’t see them being in one with hondo. for jango, he’s really sort of settled down on concord dawn, and while he may continue bounty hunting on occasion and keep up with old contacts, i think he’s mostly letting that life go. there are exceptions, ofc, but he and hondo know they’re better off friends in this case. for piik, he and hondo are too unlike one another, and not even in a fun “opposites attract” way but in a simple “this would never work” way. piik thinks hondo’s way too irresponsible and a bad influence on the kids, and hondo thinks piik is boring and uppity. so to answer your question, it’s less jealousy and more annoyance and lack of comprehension. besides being hot, hondo does NOT get what jango sees in piik. however, i would be remiss to say that piik’s dislike of hondo isn’t somewhat due to jealousy - hondo is unashamed of his previous sexual exploits with jango, and as much as piik hates to admit it, it bothers him.

on the bright side, hondo is fun and annoying about it once he’s over the whole “you should’ve told me” thing, much to some of the boys’ delight. cody and fox think he’s an asshole, and rex doesn’t like him talking shit about piik, but the others think he’s HILARIOUS and piik’s daughter cyelle especially loves when uncle hondo imitates piik having a crisis. “hey hey hey who am i: oh nooooo hondo you cannot let the little boy tattoo your lieutenant you are a madddd mannnn.” cue uncontrollable laughter from most of the kids, a very quickly covered chuckle from jango, and piik looking utterly unamused.

they stop hating each other eventually, when hondo and piik inevitably have to work together to help the kids and/or jango, and there’s the classic moment of begrudging respect for one another. but it probably doesn’t happen for years - coincidentally, once jango and piik get together, piik chills out a little around hondo bc he doesn’t have anything to be jealous of anymore. hondo notices this, and teases piik about it. so like, they’re never quite besties, but they do wear the get-along shirt for the fett family.

(and don’t feel too bad for hondo losing out on his dilf boyfriend: he sort of steals one of jango’s sons over to his way of life in the end. not telling who though!)

Totally agree on s5, the show itself lost its spark too. tbh I think a lot of the reason things were bad is because a lot of the original writers left the show right? That’s what I was told a long time ago, and it honestly would make sense if that’s true because if writers don’t know the characters they write then they become inconsistent or they don’t make sense without the proper guidance, if I had any faith in Jason I could have said Jason would make sure the writers wouldn’t lose sight of who the characters/dynamics are and would keep them on track but Jason didn’t give a fuck about that and only cared about his precious plot and shock value 💀. And he also just wanted to upset fans all the time.. so even if he knew things were out of character he would probably encourage it since he’s known for wanting to stir the pot. Therefore.. we got season 5. I also think jason changed the characters and dynamics way too much in a way where again.. didn’t make sense. (I’m not even going to TALKKK about the BULSHIT that was blecho can’t even discuss one of the MOST, If not THE MOST, ooc things for Bellamy) Bellamy was not bellamy that season, bellarke was not Bellarke, Clarke didn’t feel like Clarke either at times, the spacekru cult everyone collectively hated(WTF WAS THAT EVEN ITS A JOKE)— it all just wasn’t something that a lot of people (including me) couldn’t get on board with. I understand the time jump so things can alter/change of course but s5 changed so many fundamental things.. and it also broke part of the audience. Season 5 was when a lot of people gave up hope, because season 4 lead us to believe something amazing was heading our way, everything we waited for with bellarke was gonna happen at some point in that season and then Jason vindictively ripped it away but still tried to keep the audience on a hook. I think honestly it was season 5 that I knew he was full of shit, I said to myself he’s going to do this until the end of the show and he did worse lmfao anyways season 5 was terrible to me, I couldn’t enjoy it other than one or two small scenes because the season itself felt like a fuck you to bellarke shippers. We know season 7 was too but I don’t count season 7 that’s just hate fanfic so it never happened cause it was a joke LOL

Oh I fully agree with everything said here. And I know what they were trying to do with S5- why they changed up the characters and dynamics so much. It could have actually been very interesting if they did it better, but it was a spectacular failure and all it did was destroy the things the audience actually cared about and relied far too much on “but I told you it’s like this now, and you have no choice but to accept it!”

This is a wild ride. I like the theme in general, the cage and the puppet are a really cool idea. And the writing, the poignant slow pace with a shit ton of nature metaphor? The mundane daily life sandwiched between badass action and angsty narrative? The revelation of what Xie Wen did for Wen Shi and Wen Shi counters it with what happened to his soul? Hell damn, I screenshot like a maniac and sent them to my friend like "hey see this delicious hell? jump with me!" My favorite moment is definitely the "紅塵 Kiss" because it knocked me off my feet and robbed all my sense and sensibility. Very close behind are "wind and pine tree, the moon lightens for three thousand miles, the sky doesn't grant him the day to come home" (Xie Wen), "when there's no place to go they want to come home" (the disciples) and "don't look back" ༼ つ ಥ_ಥ ༽つ

I actually finished 铜钱龛世 also by 木苏里 beforehand so I kind of expected all the characters may somehow link together. I love the relationship between the old man and the boy so much. Since Cage 1 it hooked me into the story and it just keeps getting better as the plot processes. He said they have 缘 and the bluebird metaphor? Chef Kiss!

Not a fan of the antagonist here not just because he's sure a dick but I'm often not into the final boss. The things the main cast went through just... not worth it. It only took one event from the past to go differently and they don't have to end up with all that shit. But I guess it serves the theme of 缘 and Karma, fate just happens and goes out of hand no matter how hard you try.

Oh and the other clans. I usually see corrupted 正派 but they are good guys and what they do at the end to both the Zhang siblings and Xie Wen is really sweet.

I’ve never read Mu Su Li’s other works, so this was my first time encountering her treatment of these kinds of themes! Like, human desire can manifest in terrifying ways but when you break through to the heart of it, it’s 1) a cage that traps/hurts/scares both the owner and people around them, and 2) it’s a very comprehensible feeling that nobody is above having.

BUT YEAH ALSO THE WAY SHE MANIFESTED THAT WITH XIE WEN/WEN SHI, “LOOK AT ALL THE TERRIFYING SHIT THESE TWO WOULD DO JUST TO KEEP ONE MORE IOTA OF PAIN FROM FALLING ON THEIR BELOVED.” YEAH I SERIOUSLY JUMPED OFF OF SOMETHING VERY HIGH WHEN WE LEARNED WHAT HAPPENED TO WEN SHI’S SOUL.

i’m all about nature metaphors my friend TTTT Mu Su Li writes them so fucking well, and you’re 10000% on point with the poignant slow pace. The image that has stuck to me and continues sucking out my life’s blood to this day is Wen Shi, as a child and as a 1000+-year-old immortal, only wants to keep following Xie Wen. Wen Shi being the quiet baby snowman with his eyes fixed to the back of Xie Wen’s head????? I???? Kill me now?????

yeah re: the antagonist, on my first readthrough i def had a moment when i was like, “oh. this guy? this motive? ...is this working for me?” But I totally decided yes ‘cause that scene was more about how badass Xie Wen and Wen Shi were LMFAO. What happened to Xie Wen and the disciples definitely feels hella not worth it!! I also remember thinking “jesus fucking christ that’s so terrible?? are they just gonna gloss over this??” re: Bu Ning but. Ack. I honestly don’t know if I’d enjoy the novel better if it were longer, and tied up every emotional loose end. THIS IS WHY WE NEED A FANDOM THO, to give us a resolution on these disciples feelings ;;;;

While I was going through the game, I started working on some fanfic ideas. To explain it as best as possible without any spoilers, I had two theories for the ending, and I was working on two different routes of what are basically fanfic sequels. And even though I know now which route follows canon, I kinda want to write and publish both of them because I've grown attached.

I only recently finished the game, and after I finished it, I kinda felt empty. You know the feeling. This series has consumed your life for the past *insert time period here* and now that it's over, you don't know what to do with your life. Or at least, your sorry excuse for a life (Because let's be real here, fans don't have lives. We have unhealthy obsessions.)

I'm going to continue obsessing over this series for a long time. I can tell you that much.

I've literally become a stalker for the WEC tag on AO3. I check it every day, sometimes multiple times a day.

This fandom actually forced me to get a TWITTER account so I could look at WEC stuff on Twitter.

I mean, I'm never ever going to post on Twitter (that place is a literal dumpster fire) but I've managed to avoid it for so long, but I was desperate, and desperate people do strange things.

Anyway, WEC has successfully consumed my entire life and it will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future. I am obsessed and I'm proud of it!

My hero Academia? For the fandom thing.

The first character I first fell in love with: Depends in what sense! when I first saw Tokoyami, I was like :O because his aesthetic is similar to mines and very nice ���� his quirk is also amazing! Bakugou also caught my interest.

 The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Bakugou- I still love him, but just less? I’ve lost some interest in his character. Same with Inasa Yoarashi, he’s a neat character but with his limited screen time and presence, I’ve become deattached.

 A pairing that I despise: I don’t despise it, but emotionally, it’s not my thing; Midoriya x Bakugou. I do find myself enjoying some fanart and comic strips, and some fanfics have interesting writing on how both characters grow past their mistakes, but it’s still not a ship I personally like too much, due to Bakugou’s abusive behavior towards Midoriya. But if you like it, that’s cool too :)

sdjgdjs i’ve only ever watched cringe dramas if the man is good looking (but like only clips in this case) or i need to make fun of it with my friends . i like to indulge in horror when i’m anxious bc it somehow makes it better like 😭 at least i have it better than THOSE guys lmfao <3 but also i don’t like heavy gore ahaha.

I wanted to ask: What were your thoughts on the CAOS season 2 finale?

Oh my god thank you for asking, I’ve had the beginnings of a review sitting in my drafts forever because I’ve just been so busy. But I can definitely break down my thoughts on the CAOS finale here (this gonna be long lol)!Ok so, a few points that stick out from memory (all building to that shitty finale): 

- I wish CAOS took far more care and was more deliberate in building this world and the mythos. Like…anti-pope? Really? That’s the best they could come up with? DRESSED LIKE THE ACTUAL POPE, just in black and silver instead of red and gold? LOL. How fucking original.  

Also, they need to explain this universe to me because if everything about witches and the Dark Lord is the complete antithesis of Christianity then, explain why they insisted on beating me to death every damn episode with how patriarchal, chauvinistic and oppressive this world is? Like, that IS christianity lmfao. So like, why isn’t this satanic world not more free loving, progressive and matriarchal? Why aren’t women revered? Why is Lilith the Dark Lord’s servant? Her origin story is still stupid because the whole reason she was cast out was for not being subservient to Adam, but she met Lucifer and just blindly bent the knee and tolerated centuries of abuse and mistreatment…for the hope of becoming the Queen of Hell? Her reason to Sabrina makes literally NO SENSE. Also, they’re so inconsistent, sexual fluidity is fine, orgies are great, promiscuity is celebrated, and encouraged, even in teenagers: 

but women must be subjugated? How does that even make sense? And like…why? They don’t even provide a reason. It’s literally just “because we say so. Lol.” I guess they’d have to actually think of something interesting instead of leaning on the crutch of white feminism and choking us all with it, so it was easier to just…do this. - Season 1 establishes Prudence to be extremely dedicated to her culture and customs, she was prepared to die as Queen of the Feast, and she was gonna have fun on her way out.

(im gonna come back to the blessing that is P&A in A MOMENT) While she wasn’t prone to questioning witch customs, she was still the leader of the weird sisters (she even gets upset when they make decisions without her prior approval) and controlled that school with an steel grip or whatever. It was well established she thought for herself and wasn’t afraid of challenging someone when she thought it appropriate.

 But she finds out her father is Father Blackwood, whom she’d only shown the appropriate amount of deference to up until now, and now all of a sudden she’s mewling and begging for his acceptance and name? All season? Why? The first couple sexist ass rejections should have been enough for her to say, ok well fuck you, but instead she goes so far as to imprison Ambrose and allow him to be tortured all because of whatever Father Blackwood said? With no questioning, no guilt or second guessing even? She just blindly believes Ambrose is guilty until she herself is under fire? But like why? This shitty plot required an extreme dumbing down of Prudence’s character and that really sucks. - Ambrose and Prudence were the best part of this show and I want a spin off and I want it YESTERDAY. 

Like…I would watch a whole season of them dressed like this just hunting down Father Blackwood and hooking up and maybe mashing up some other things on the way lmao. This is all I want from CAOS is these two, nothing else. This was the best moment of the finale tbh. And it was high key dry because I watched them get up to foolishness for too long before it. 

- Sabrina is supposed to become the Dark Lord’s queen/wife…but he’s her Dad? Can y’all just slow tf down on all the damn incest? Also, this is literally the most chemistry Sabrina has had with literally anyone on this show because ofc it is (and that’s not saying much but like…it’s less painful than Austin Harvey).

- Also BIG FAN (not) of the random musical moment on the last episode to top off this extremely tacky, extremely corny season on a peak of bullshit. Also…who is the costume designer? Who can I send my formal complaint to about that crown? And this entire outfit? Anyway… - Sabrina is SO DUMB for taking THIS LONG to suspect Ms. Wardwell before now.  SHE LEGIT WAS GONNA LEAVE YOU IN LIMBO SIS LOL. Her white feminist speechifying was boring and wack but I guess it led to Lilith becoming Queen of Hell so…yay? I guess?? A more progressive Hell with a woman leading it!!  Also, I’m still waiting on an explanation of Sabrina’s resurrection and those RANDOM ass archangels that showed up out of nowhere. That could have been super interesting if the writers didn’t write this show like it was a bad acid trip.- Satan needed more bass in his voice. - my biggest gripe: How did we get here Father Blackwood? Like…you was always intense, but we went from using magic on your wife (Zelda really should have expected as much tbh I’m not sure how she didn’t from that moment they were walking down the steps. I hate how this plot required ALL the women to be dumber than normal) to using magicked teenagers to murder the anti pope and then pulling a Jonestown on like…the entire coven and dipsetting in like 2.5 seconds? But like…WHY? I don’t understand how everything escalated so fast and so far out of the realm of sense. Dude just decided “well IF I CAN’T OPPRESS WOMEN, NO ONE CAN.” And killed everybody? And given that the show went through great pains to articulate just how thoroughly sexist all the men in authority positions were…I don’t understand why he even bothered. Based on their attitudes, there’s literally no reason the anti-pope would accept Sabrina’s father’s ideas for the future of the coven. He would just be like “mmm cool story but I like assaulting women too much.” And kept it pushing. Talk about CONTRIVED. This show is just SO WACK but at least Sabrina and that crunchy wig of hers got cussed out a couple times I guess.

so as a disclaimer i just want to make sure yall know i am in no way hating on the members themselves. theyre obviously all talented and hardworking and they seem like decent people. my issue is with the creation of it in the first place and with the management of it. 

first off, i dont understand the point of making a group of already-existing, already-exhausted idols. like someone please force taeyong and mark to sleep because lord knows when they actually get around to it. SM is running them into the ground like some fucking race horses who won’t be able to perform in 5 years because their bodies won’t let them.

second, if you’re going to do something like this, for the love of god at least be original about it. i finally watched the music video and at the hook ‘we jumping we popping we jopping’ i laughed out loud :/ i just dont understand why they thought that sounded cool lmfao. anyway, the hyper-masculine aesthetic with the tank, helicopter, sports cars, and robots is...so tired. it reminded me a lot of superhuman (personally not a fan of the robots/futuristic aesthetic but it works well with the theme of the song and the transitions are incredible. also the song slaps). 

OH ALSO the teaser pics and member trailers were mad boring all they were doing was staring into the camera doing some basic af blue steel bullshit. nothing on the members, again, im shitting on the production and direction lol. 

i also hate that people who have issues with superm are immediately labeled as haters, because i like a lot of the members and i Love ten lol but i don’t really want to support something that will be detrimental to their overall physical, mental, and emotional health.
