The Linear Bush is a linear guide used in combination with a LM shaft that has a cylindrical shaft. This product makes linear movements with a minimum of frictional resistance to provide highly accurate and supple movement.

A linear-motion bearing or linear slide is a bearing designed to provide free motion in one direction. There are many different types of linear motion bearings. Motorized linear slides such as machine slides, X-Y tables, roller tables and some dovetail slides are bearings moved by drive mechanisms.

A bearing or bushing can be used for linear or rotational motion. While most bearings and bushings are designed for only one type of motion, there are some parts that can combine both.

There isn't really a difference: a bushing is a type of bearing. In general, a “bearing” facilitates movement between two parts while reducing friction. Simple in design, the typical bearing has two surfaces that roll over each other, enabling two mating components to move friction-lessly

Linear bearings are used in 3D printers, sliding doors, and several automated applications where guiding rail motion is required. A linear bearing is a critical component of a linear guide assembly.

Linear bushings consist of load-bearing plates, a ball retainer, steel balls, end caps or rings, and seals. External loads are transferred from the load plates (analogous to the outer race of a radial bearing), through the steel balls, and to the shaft (analogous to the inner race of a radial bearing).

Since the first movie had Mario save Luigi I vote the second movie be “Luigi’s Mansion” so Luigi can return the favor and save Mario

And thus they will both have rescued each other!

Bonus point that Daisy must appear and help Luigi beat up ghosts like how Peach helped Mario >_•

As much as I would like the second movie to be a Luigi's Mansion movie, they've already teased Yoshi in the post-credits scene, so I think we'll be getting a Super Mario Bros 2 before we get a Luigi's Mansion.

But I'm banking on the LM movie happening eventually. They've set things up too perfectly. We've got Mario's effort to rescue Luigi from Bowser being the lynchpin for them becoming nemesis, now we just need Luigi rescuing Mario from King Boo (and probably saving the world in the process, a la Dark Moon) to establish King Boo as Luigi's nemesis. Plus! Luigi's got his fear of dogs to overcome by befriending Polterpup!

However... I don't really like the idea of Princess Daisy helping Luigi fight ghosts in the movie. Professor E. Gadd's relationship with Luigi is really sweet as is, and I want that to be the focus (as well as the bond Luigi forms with Polterpup.) Plus, voice communications with an eccentric old scientist being Luigi's only solid source of reliable help? while he's facing off against his greatest fear??? That is far more impactful than if he had this badass princess guiding him along the way. Not to say I don't want Princess Daisy to show up! Far from it! But I think she's far more suited for Super Mario Bros 2 than Luigi's Mansion. She doesn't have to be a mentor like Peach was... she can just be a really cool friend who admires and believes in him and thinks he's cute.

Traintober 2023: Day 22 - Top Hat

The Railway is Prospering:

The railway was prospering. That was perhaps the first thing that the figure noticed. The books had been kind to the railway, in that they had drummed up hundreds, thousands of tourists who flocked to the island to ride behind the famous engines who worked there. The harbour extension at the end of Thomas’ branchline had made loading the stone from the quarry ever smoother, as they didn’t need to drag it all the way to Tidmouth.

And best of all, the engines were all still running.

Sir Topham Hatt wandered up to the ticket office at Wellsworth, spotting Edward collecting passengers for his afternoon train up to the Big Station. Even without a ticket, it was a little too easy to sneak aboard, finding an empty compartment and flopping down on the seats – only, they seemed to pass right through him.

Ah… right.

Instead, the figure of Sir Topham Hatt floated with his head out of the window, taking in the world around him in awe. There was Henry, speeding along with a fast freight train. His rebuild had truly done him wonders – thank goodness Sir William agreed to it, or Henry would… maybe not even be here. And over there was Gordon! He thundered by with the Express, whistling happily at Edward as the big blue engine drew alongside the old engine. They exchanged a fond greeting, and then Gordon was gone again, rocketing along.

James passed by next, grumbling dreadfully with a long train of tankers behind him. So… he’d not done so well with James – but he was still not only really useful, but reliable as well! And in spite of his grumbling, he was still pulling the trucks. As much as Sir Topham Hatt wanted to shout at the red engine to stop whining and get a move on, he recognised just how well the engine was doing.

Then, they passed through the Junction to Thomas’ branchline, and Sir Topham Hatt managed to spy all three of his former tank engines – Thomas, Duck and Percy – all shunting trucks together. It seemed like Duck needed a large order of stone, and the two other tank engines had brought it down for him. Furthermore, Toby stood nearby with Henrietta. All four looked healthy, happy and well-rested, a far cry from those dark days when the big engines refused to work. Then, Thomas, Percy and Edward had been forced to work day and night – nonstop – just to keep the railway open.

But now, they had time to slow down and chat, as well as spend time bantering. Sir Topham wondered just why Percy was talking about ghosts. He’d move closer to listen – but he didn’t want to lose Edward and his train.

Oh, Edward.

The blue engine looked so much happier now. He was running well; nary a clank in his motion. He smiled more too, happier than ever and so much brighter even though the day was cloudy. Sir Topham smiled wryly.

As much as he wanted to say his legacy was the greatness his engines felt now, he couldn’t honestly say it and be right. He’d done some admirable things for his engines, and he’d always been willing to stand up for Edward, or Thomas, or Percy – but at the same time… at the same time, it was clear he’d been far stricter than his son.

Maybe that was a good thing – the railway wouldn’t have survived the Great Depression without a firm hand to guide it. The entire railway had teetered on the edge of bankruptcy for so long, and he’d become so afraid of losing it all. He’d held on tight, almost strangling everyone as he nitpicked his way through every issue. He’d been harsh – harsher than he should have been.

Henry looked so much happier without him around.

But he’d done it for the railway! Being firm, strict and a little controlling was what the railway needed to see in each new year. He’d never scrapped one of his engines (the board, however…), even when they were unable to be really useful. Again, Henry was a testament to how much he hated to see potential wasted.

He’d fought against the LMS for years over the right to keep the railway open… but the LMS fell, and still the NWR remained. It… felt good to know he’d been so successful… even if most of the engines didn’t remember him so favourably.

With one last breath, he slipped away from Edward’s train, taking a moment to wander into his son’s office. He spotted a very familiar top hat resting on the coatrack. “That’s… my hat…” murmured Sir Topham, feeling just a little better.

Everything was going to be just fine.

With that, the almost ethereal figure standing in the Fat Controller’s office faded away.

Kento Kuroe - Main Story Walkthrough

With "Can We Start Over?" we got the first of the three new titles that Voltage announced for this year. It actually fits the summer vibe that we have right now compared to the JP release back in April 🤭 Each of the new IPs will be Love Choice (so you get to read for free for the general plot but any kind of cute scene costs hearts). Compared to Plust its not possible to unlock SHE without hearts - just by choosing the correct options - sadly. Additionally, all of the new titles currently seem to have 2 LIs.

In this case we have Kento Kuroe and Ryo Haruki. They are childhood friends of the MC, however they haven't seen each other in ages ever since she moved away. The story starts with MC witnessing her fiancee having an affair with a younger colleague. A similar premise to Kings of Paradise or In Your Arms Tonight :)

However, MC gave up her apartment and job to devote herself to the fiancee so she stands with the back to the wall and flees to her hometown. There she has a fateful encounter with her two childhood friends that now live together in a sharehouse and luckily there's still a free room so the healing journey can begin.

Kento is quite the sweetheart. He seems cold and abrasive but he is a bad actor and has a soft spot for his childhood friend. His intentions are sometimes so hilariously obvious that it's amusing how often MC is clueless about his actions. It's great that Ryo is a great wingman and Kentos comrade in (h)arms, because they both suffer under MCs cluelessness so they support each other. To be honest, they probably might have not ended up together without his nagging because they had such bad timing and both struggled to utter there wishes because they didn't want to inconvenience each other.

It was a very sweet and funny ride and I think especially fans of Taki, My Last First Kiss or Dreamy Days in West Tokyo might quite enjoy the title. While the title is mostly soft it does have its mature moments as well and I think the characters were quite well developed. I wouldn't say that MC does not shine with her personality.

As i've seen a few people overexaggerating the prices i've decided to make a min budget walkthrough where you can get SHE and all CGs for about 136 Hearts. If you buy hearts via their webshop you might get it for about 12-14$.

Also, The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner has a smallish, but fairly active following on Tumblr, but it deserves the energy that is devoted to some more popular YA fantasy/historical novel series. <- All of these books are re-readable af, 10/10 no notes.

Cosette!

There's a strong implication that the Rue Plumet house is an opportunity for romance, both through earlier descriptions of the garden (the emphasis on youth, weddings, love, etc) and lines like this:

"The convent is a compression which must last the whole life, if it is to triumph over the human heart. On leaving the convent, Cosette could not have found anything sweeter or more dangerous than the house in the Rue Plumet. It was the commencement of solitude with the commencement of liberty, a closed garden, but a sharp, kind, rich, voluptuous, and odorous nature; there were the same dreams as in the convent, but glimpses could be caught of young men,—it was a grating, but it looked on the street."

Most obviously, the passage mentions that Cosette could see young men through the grating, but the language used to describe the garden ("voluptuous") feels quite sensual. Romance would also be the specific subject Jean Valjean and the nuns couldn't/wouldn't prepare her for; if the nuns ever had experience with that, they swore it off when they became nuns, and Jean Valjean has never experienced romance ("Jean Valjean had never loved anything [. . . . ] [He] had never been father, lover, husband, or friend" - LM 2.4.3). I think Hugo centers romance and relationships for young women in a way that's uncomfortable (even if it's unfortunately realistic in some ways, given that they were financially very important [the struggle of having enough money if unmarried as a woman] and risky because of social pressures [like Fantine being ostracized because she had a child without being married]). Part of the discomfort is also from the way these societal expectations of gender blend with Hugo's ideas, like his notion that Cosette is especially lost because she doesn't have a mother to guide her with the combined experience of being a "virgin" and a "wife." Still, it's true that romance would be difficult for Cosette because she doesn't have someone to easily communicate with on the subject. Jean Valjean is the only person she has right now, and it's not a topic he's very aware of. Rather than the framing here, then, it's a bit more sympathetic if we take it as another instance of the importance of a broad network of social support. Romance would not be as dangerous to Cosette if she had a variety of people to learn from, just as it would have been safer for Fantine if she had had people to fall back on after being abandoned or if people had advised her more directly in the first place about what to expect from a student-grisette romance.

The house is also mixed for Cosette in that it contains remnants of a cage. The convent is the true "compression," so she's free now that she's no longer there. Still, the psychological cage might remain; we don't know if she'll break free of it. The grating is part-cage as well, giving her more freedom than the convent but still constraining her. She can see the world now, but she's not fully in it, either.

Most importantly, Cosette is still a child! Hugo's speculating on her future here, but Cosette just wants to find interesting insects! Her love of searching for creatures feels like a return to the gamins, who do the same when playing; it's a shared trait that defines them as children, regardless of their different backgrounds. They're all still young, so they play.

Her love for her father is so sweet. I adore that she tries to fight against Jean Valjean's total lack of self-esteem by demanding that he treat himself better, or else she'll treat herself the same way:

""Father, I feel very cold in your room; why don't you have a carpet and a stove?"

"My dear child, there are so many persons more deserving than myself who have not even a roof to cover them."

"Then, why is there fire in my room and everything that I want?"

"Because you are a woman and a child."

"Nonsense! then men must be cold and hungry?""

Cosette knows that Valjean would never make her suffer, so if she makes herself live like him, she won't actually live badly. He'll just raise his own standard of living to make sure she's comfortable. Valjean's love for Cosette is one of his main defining traits, but she really loves him, too, and it's great to see that expressed!

I also love that their bond transcends societal expectations and is unique to them. In the passage above, for instance, Cosette questions gendered expectations over what men, women, and children should respectively tolerate, rejecting the idea that women and children should be prioritized over men. Part of it is certainly that she knows her father could be living more comfortably, but it's also because she loves him and doesn't want him to suffer needlessly based on any justification, whether it be others' poverty or gender. She sees Jean Valjean as both her father and mother as well, calling him "father" and imagining him like this:

"When she thought at night before she fell asleep, as she had no very clear idea of being Jean Valjean's daughter, she imagined that her mother's soul had passed into this good man, and had come to dwell near her. When he was sitting down she rested her cheek on his white hair, and silently dropped a tear, while saying to herself, "Perhaps this man is my mother!""

It's especially moving because Valjean sees himself in a similar way, feeling that he is her father because she needed one just as he needed a child, but also "[feeling] pangs like a mother" upon adopting her (LM 2.4.3). Fantine is ever-present in their relationship (and Cosette's dream was both beautiful and sad), but not entirely in an upsetting way. Valjean's feelings are unclear, and Cosette loves her mother, but in a vague way, since she doesn't remember her. But in a spiritual/religious way, Valjean and her mother's spirits have merged to her, preserving what she's heard about her mother's love and combining it with her lived experience of love. It's very sweet, and it makes sense that she would imagine her mother this way after such a religious upbringing.

Unfortunately, the metaphorical prison of the convent and the cage of the grating aren't the only dark shadow in this chapter. The last line is a bit ominous. For context, here it is in English and in French:

"The poor wretch, inundated with an angelic joy, trembled; he assured himself with transport that this would last his whole life; he said to himself that he had not really suffered enough to deserve such radiant happiness, and he thanked God in the depths of his soul for having allowed him—the wretched—to be thus loved by this innocent being."

"Le pauvre homme tressaillait inondé d'une joie angélique; il s'affirmait avec transport que cela durerait toute la vie; il se disait qu'il n'avait vraiment pas assez souffert pour mériter un si radieux bonheur, et il remerciait Dieu, dans les profondeurs de son âme, d'avoir permis qu'il fût ainsi aimé, lui misérable, par cet être innocent."

Jean Valjean is still a "misérable," and he defines his worth through suffering. He's happy with Cosette, which is wonderful! But he also thinks he doesn't deserve her, even if she clearly thinks otherwise. His joy, then, is in constant tension with his status as a misérable, and while Cosette tries to help - she's making him live decently! - she also doesn't know why he has this mindset. Jean Valjean has love, but he still carries the logic of the prison system with him, and by that logic, he will never "deserve" happiness.

"I've been thinking about you all day," he admits, his voice filled with emotion. "I can't seem to focus on anything else. You've become my everything."

You gently run your fingers through his hair, feeling a sense of pride and affection. "lm glad you feel that way," you say, lifting his chin so he looks into your eyes. "Because I want you to know that Il'II always be here to guide you, to take care of you."

He nods, a smile spreading across his face. "I trust you completely," he says. "I love you more than anything.

The nights become a routine of him seeking your approval and guidance, always eager to please you. Whether it's in the bedroom or in daily life, he's completely submissive, his happiness tied to your satisfaction.

One weekend, you plan a getaway to a secluded cabin in the mountains. It's a perfect escape from the pressures of your careers, a chance to deepen your bond. The moment you arrive, Jungkook looks to you for direction.

"What do you want to do first?" he asks, his voice filled with anticipation.

You take his hand, leading him to the cozy living room. "First, I want you to relax," you say, sitting him down on the plush couch. "Let's enjoy this time together.

Throughout the weekend, he follows your lead, from exploring the scenic trails to cozying up by the fireplace. Every moment is filled with tenderness and love, his devotion to you growing stronger with each passing day,
