There are actual therapy llamas, they say that it improves the patient’s attendance and petting a llama during a emotional session is as stress relieving as a dog, and builds trust between a counselor and client relationship cause wouldn’t you trust a man with information that has a llama you’re allowed to pet, llamas hum too so there you go.

Spitting happens when a llama wants to tell someone off or get the last piece of food or as a dominance thing or as a warning or- no, you know what, llamas are just dicks.

They have known to relax when classical music is playing at a low volume, though they do feel a high stress level listening to rock music with a spice of anxiety.

By nature, llamas are brave, fearless, and audacious against their predators. Moreover, even though they are herbivores, but they still can carry over a third of their own body weight so they could definitely cause a decent amount of damage if they wanted, Llamas live in herds, and will even 'adopt' groups of sheep or goats as their own herd. They protect their herds by chasing off predators like coyotes, besides being this strong, they still do enjoy being protected by other animals, a herd of llamas might join up with a herd of sheep or goats to kind of gang up against a predator.

Male llamas are a very proud and dominant animal and would fight for breeding rights like many other animals do. They have a 350-day gestation time, “They'll raise their chin, and they'll flatten their ears back, and they may first threaten that way.”

Llamas do not have upper front teeth, but instead have a dental pad on the top of their mouths, llamas are ruminants, along with other animals like cows, goats, and sheep, and they all share this dental characteristic. The dental pad is a thick, hard gum line that allows the animal to pinch grass blades and then nip off the forage with their bottom incisors, but they do have other ruminants also have molars in the back of their mouths for grinding.

Llamas can escape predators by running at speeds of up to 40 mph.

The last day of the Li-Fuentes rotation is spent at home, with good food and good company — the mark of any good Saturday.

Wendell and Cassie joined the family for lunch (a hearty vegetable casserole) and together everyone celebrated the news of the engagement and Cassie's pregnancy progressing into her second trimester. (Octavia, the closest thing we have to a doula, has been keeping a close eye on things!)

Lots of hand-me-downs—toddler blocks and books, Lydia's old pack-and-play—and an excellent quality hand-knit newborn onesie were passed on in anticipation of their baby's arrival. (A bit early, to be sure, but by our next Li-Fuentes rotation Cassie and Wendell will be parenting an infant!)

The last bit of business that I'm just going to shoehorn in is filling Wendell and Cassie in on Cherry's suggestion to broaden the community's schooling program beyond the classroom. We can expect to see some music-based lessons with Wendell in the future! 🥰 What can't you learn about with the help of music? Math, social studies, science, language arts...

I had the very same thought and I could not agree with you more. For me it's a combination of how happy he looked when that whole segment was happening and was sitting there when Alex and Josh were about to wrap him up to be "shipped" to Michael (please, this feels so deliberate the more I think about it, I can't) with his hands in his lap looking so perfectly submissive and pleased...

...And then Georgia posting this screenshot on Michael's birthday (one day after the show aired).

Of course, you could say that she/David are just playing along with the "joke," but the fact that David went with it and seemed completely cool with the idea of being tied up in Michael's basement (along with all the implications contained therein) is just...wow.

Did you know cats have whiskers on their feet it's right up near their topmost toe it helps them figure out where to pounce when hunting

Shrews are cool as FUCK so because they are so small they need to have a very high metabolism- small body = loses heat faster some of them are as small as almonds!!! they are incredibly powerful hunters and can hold a territory that can be up to over 600 yards!!!! they have to eat a LOT to keep up with their high metabolism so when they hunt they will kill something and leave it there if they manage to catch something else before they finish eating and only once they no longer have any prey to catch will they eat their stockpile, the bodies of their kills are usually stacked up together. Shrews also have super fast heart and breath rates they lose heat super fast and their heart can be up to 800 bpm and their breath up to 500/minute Shrews live in high altitude and climates so how are they keeping their body warm? they use the snow as an insulater! they'll burrow under the snow and use it as a way to keep the heat inside their tunnels. when a shrew is pregnant they will eat a lot more a 7lb shrew will eat 8lbs of food for example- and their milk can shift through lactation for nutrition (colostrum and weaning milk for example)

speaking of reproduction- just like bees male mouse opossums will die right after mating- as they reach their sexual maturity they will go into overdrive they won't eat and have a very high stress level males of this species very rarely survive more than a year

you might know that all animals (aside from primates/humans) have an extra layer in the back of their eye called the tapetum lucidum, this is what eye shine is ot helps soak in light when in the dark

only primates have trichromatic vision most mammals only have dichromatic vision where they lack the cone rods to see green/yellow colors

ok so hearing right? so most animals other than us have pinna which makes it so their ears can move towards sound but mammals also hear different frequencies like I'm sure you've heard about how cats talk to their kittens in a different way than older cats? humans do that too! when we use baby talk for pets or children but some animals speak out of our frequencies entirely for example mice will sing to each other to find mates!

bunnies sleep with their eyes open as they are prey animals they also will almost always poop as they are eating and must be eating or at least offered food nearly 24/7 or they will die similar to a shrew

goat horns are connected directly to their skulls and they LOVE when you scratch in-between them for them :)
