Over the last several decades my body has brought me through birthing two amazing young black kings, surviving a stroke, heart surgery and surviving covid. I am tremendously grateful for whatever form it takes for me to get through in a given moment. A part self care and love is being ok with the moments of time where we may have felt we were not our full selves but we were totally full enough to survive. I am looking forward to the next several years and decades that my body and art will take me. Saturday was all about the energy of #Marymagdelen I awoken that morning to notifications about an event at a local church, I’d never been to or heard about, it was a #plantsale and social. Minutes later the first FB notification was about the #magdelensteps in #durham the ancient and original region of my homelands #Washington #tyneandwear in northern England #uk I had never heard those steps I was familiar with since a child to be called ‘ Magdelen ‘ and the church I was visiting that day was #stmarymagdelen .. Guess she wants me to pay attention ! The Essence and Spirit of Mary Magdelen is not new to me, i have had a relationship with this benevolent soul for over 35 years she has been an inspiration and guide for many of the teachings, healings and events I have offered over the years but more about that soon. I work with many many benevolent sentient beings and at times one or more step back or forwards as I go about my journey. #marymagdalene has made her presence known quite deeply this weekend and I’m excited to see how the mystery unfolds and what further wisdom she shared with me. The church has some amazing history and the priest ( a woman) introduced herself to us and tomorrow I visit again to explain something I’ve always wanted to do …. On April 4, 2021 I celebrated my 9 year anniversary of being a survivor of Domestic Violence! And on that very day.... I used up all of the packing peanuts that I ordered and received back on 09/04/2020! You, my beautiful community of supporters are the reason I keep my head up! Because of your continued support, Freedom4Ewa was able to donate: $100 to Prudence Crandall Center $100 to Safe Futures $200 is 5% of the Freedom4Ewa sales from 12/01/2020 - 03/31/2021 We were able to donate $36.50 more than we did back on 12/01/2020!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the influences of black and white, something greater than both brought me to life. I am the descendant of slaves and slave owners; consciously aware, healed and while, living in love. When slave owners demanded the sexual submission of slave women, the raped slave women often gave birth to a child that looked like me. Her slave husband was powerless to prevent her abuse or love the child he did not create. She could not love the child either because it was born of her owner’s raging lust for power. 560 years later, the children whose bloodlines began during slavery, live with a comprehensive cultural PTSD. How can this trauma be compensated for and healing experienced? I survived this madness by transforming my angry black and white energies into the energy to love.
