Wish me strength y’all.
I’m spending my precious Saturday on a networking-event-slash-teambuilding thing where everyone speaks French, I had to put on a “fruit themed outfit” and flat shoes, it’s cold AF and hosted outside, and I’m NOT getting paid for my attendance.
It’s just me and my prescription stimulants against a cruel, cruel world of sporty francophone morning people.

Anime Spotlight #31: Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside
Happy AniMonday, Ticketholders!
While I catch up on more One Piece, movies, other anime, Zenescope comics for the Retrospective, and compiling my marketing portfolio, I thought I would step back into the Anime Spotlight to look at some series that I slept on (or through, in this case) when they came out, starting with Banished From the Hero's Party, I Decided the Title Wasn't Long Enough So I Knocked Up Kung-Fu Creatures On the Rampage Last Friday the 13th and Felt Super Bad About Doctor Strangelove's Atomic Bomb,...Too.
I joke because the world-building is the only interesting thing about it. Also, Electric Boogaloo: The Quickening Final Chapter Of Bud the Chudd's Revenge.
Okay, I'm done being stupidly caffeinated now.
Enjoy!

BOYCOTT SQUISHMALLOW TO HELP PALESTINE
Jazwares, the toy manufacturing company best known for it's plush toys Squishmallows, have pledged to donate to "Brothers for Life", a charity which aids Israeli soldiers and directly benefits the IDF
Here is the statement that they made on Linkedin details their work with "Brothers for Life".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As well as this, they are also working with Canary Mission, and organisation that aims to expose those who have publicly shown support to Palestine to their employers.
Tumblr media
It makes me sick to my stomach that a company that makes the majority of its profits from children, a company that claims to be committed to "the development of children", will gladly give money to those who are committed to bombing and killing them.
I am urging all of you to spread to the and boycott this company. Reblog. Tell your friends. TELL PEOPLE WITH CHILDREN. Do not let this Christmas fund a genocide.
Jazwares also manufactures Roblox toys, Adopt me, Fortnight, Bums Bums, Living on the Veg, and plenty more.
Look out for this logo and do not buy from them.
Tumblr media
EDIT: Just wanted to be clear that this isn't an official boycott that the BDS have asked for, i just found the information and wanted others to know. The BDS boycott are the most important right now, and this should be done alongside them.

What sort of world do we live in when we’re told to be grateful that the IOF has ‘only’ murdered 30,000+ civilians, ‘only’ injured over 80,000, ‘only’ starved 2.3 million people, ‘only’ destroyed 70%+ of infrastructure, ‘only’ destroyed the lives and dreams of 2.4 million Palestinians. A world where traumatising over a million children is justified.
A world where those that claim to value ‘human rights’ will tell this father, and thousands of other Palestinian parents, that the lives of their children is a price that needs to be paid for ‘democracy’ and ‘freedom’. The irony. It’s a society that does not value life. "pasted from linkedin profile"

if it’s okay to ask id really like if you or any followers had any tips on getting a job and how not to panic when trying to find one
I’m graduating college in like a week and just can’t seem to figure out how to just get A Real Job and my parents say if I’m just going to be working at Walmart or something I should just go home - I don’t want to do this
Fuck what your parents say.
There's no such thing as a Fake Job.
You don't live to work, you work to live. A "good" job is whatever job lets you lead a happy life outside it. Apply everywhere that seems doable and if you don't hate it, stick around. I used to worry myself to shreds about this, trust me, it's way easier than you think it's going to be.
You can try and find out if your town has a ministry office or outreach building that has job listings available. Ask around at the library for help. Get a LinkedIn account. Apply on a bunch of job search websites. I've been full time employed for years and still get offers in my email.
Whatever job you get, be polite and timely and kind. The people you meet are your greatest resource. Everyone knows somebody looking for reliable help.
There Is Honour In Humble Work. Don't trust anyone who says otherwise

Yeah, I worked on The Machine. And, as I pried open its secret compartments and loosened its wiring harness and decrypted its memories, it worked on me also. Deep within its many hidden copses lay immense knowledge, unknown to all but those who formed it. Who built The Machine? No one knows. Everyone knows. I know. Now that The Machine works again, the person who last built it was me.
For years, I was a humble regular home-gamer mechanic. Something around the house would break. For the sake of argument, we'll use as an example the time my microwave blew up when I opened the door. One morning, it just went pop and never worked again. Well, at least until I fixed it. It turns out that the door had a little microswitch inside, and that microswitch got gummy with aerosolized food goo. Because it was gummed up, it wouldn't switch the computer off in time when I opened the door. That would be dangerous: I could get a full face shot of microwaves from the still-running magnetron. A safety interlock fired, and blew the brains out of the big fuse controlling the magnetron. It died for me. Replacing the switch, and the fuse, brought that microwave back to life. I did many such repairs. I was not prepared for this repair.
Fix after fix, I built up my confidence, and I got cockier. I'd pull broken machines out of the trash, mysterious foreign computers from another country. Some things escaped my grasp, and slipped further into oblivion. Most, though: most, I pulled back from the brink, and forced them to live again. That's when I found The Machine.
It was beautiful, intricate: thousands of parts, wedged together tighter than I had ever seen before, and a cryptic fault at the centre of it. When you cram together this much stuff, the complexity doesn't just add: it multiplies. To aid me, I looked for a guide, a factory service manual. The manufacturer laughed. The manufacturer's representative laughed. Someone who made it, who I tracked down on LinkedIn, hung up on me and refused to answer his door when I visited. Weeks later, he was gone, "dead" in a suspiciously convenient accident, a body left behind at the edge of his bleach-washed property with no identifying marks or fingerprints. I got the message: I was on my own.
This little wire just came unplugged. I guess someone must have dropped it. All better now.

BOYCOTTING FOR PALESTINE

Elbit Systems

HD Hyundai
TKH Security
HikVision
Pressure - boycotts when reasonable alternatives exist, as well as lobbying, peaceful disruptions, and social media pressure.
Google
Amazon
AirBnb
Booking.Com
Expedia
Teva
Here are some companies that strongly support Israel (but are not Boycott targets). There is no ethical consumption under capitalism and boycotting is a political strategy - not a moral one. If you did try to boycott every supporter of Israel you would struggle to survive because every major company supports Israel (as a result of attempting to keep the US economy afloat), that being said, the ones that are being boycotted by masses and not already on the organic boycott list are coloured red.

This is yet another "watch Cleo´s streams they´re awesome" propaganda post.
Some highlights from today´s crafting stream with Joe:
The Hermits agreed on when to announce the start of the new season and then... nobody did it first. Eventually Joe announced it first on LinkedIn but nobody noticed.
Cleo was surprised to find out Doc apparently put them on his hit list, presumably after they pointed out that he made a big hole last season. "If he didn't want to be mocked he shouldn't have teamed up with me."
prompted by a comment in chat and I forgot the phrasing, but something along the lines of how Joe needs a certain amount of antagonism and Cleo just wants to make sure Joe has a good time
Cleo finding out live on stream about an apparently unexpectedly high amount of money she'll get from the TCG cards
Cleo provides cake to new subscribers because once they get cake they fight back less, because of the cyanide. (No cake if you un- and then resubscribe but you can steal the new people's cake.)
Iskall told Cleo in a private message that he´s scared of them and Cleo was like, that´s fair. Then talks a bit about how they´re not scary but good at appearing so. Joe calls never being scared of Cleo one of his most foolish attributes (Cleo was thinking it´s quite nice.)
Some reminiscing about how their friendship started with Joe threatening Cleo and later he changed her life by inviting her to Hermitcraft (an invite that wasn´t a big of a deal back then as it is now)
and more.
In conclusion, watch Cleo´s streams because Cleo is awesome and the streams are fun and chill.
I haven´t watched many Cleo streams lately because of the games Cleo played during the HC break (mostly because I didn´t want to be spoiled for them) so I´m especially looking forward to Hermitcraft streams coming back soon.
