A quick observation from AOTV: Louis has an apartment in LA

Do you think Louis lives in LA part time although we haven't seen an official confirmation after he sold the house there?
tl;dr Yes.
I don't really know how to answer that, because the latest information around that, I have found to be a bit misleading?
First of all, if we are talking about Louis' house - to me - we are talking Louis' and Harry's house.
So without looking any deeper and both of them spending loads of time in LA, it makes sense to me, they would have a property/home base there. And even if they weren't there as much, properties are a great way to invest your money.
Having said that, I think it can be taken as a fact, that both Louis and Harry have no interest in giving the public a peek into their actual homes. So us not knowing about a property, doesn't mean much. Hell, this entire fandom is used to fill in the blanks.
To me, the most contradicting or as I said above - misleading moments were that pictures of Louis and Oli in an LA hotel lobby came up, some noting Louis stays there frequently and that the AOTV scenes with F in that lived-in house in LA were in fact at an Airbnb home (yes, I've seen the ad, no I won't post it to protect the owners from this fandom and I don't know if Louis wants to go there again).
Which could mean multiple things, for example that Louis uses these locations for filming or video interviews, with the neutral backgrounds and all, or b) Louis truly doesn't have a house there which is another dent in the super dad image.
But let's say these were efforts to protect his privacy, then we also need to consider Louis still very openly shares everything around the Barnet house. So I assume, since Modest installed it as his house in 2012, he just goes with it and uses it as a work space like he would with hotel rooms and Airbnb's in LA (or like Harry does with the Erskine buildings).
That was a lot for a simple question. Yes, I think Louis has a home in LA. It just makes sense to me. Check my tag living situation for more.

I’m going to delete this later but I feel like venting on here because no one who knows me personally follows me on here. Yesterday my egotistical “Christian” mother decided to rip up my carpet in my room and expose me to the mold that’s under the carpet. I’ve been sick since yesterday. I cant breathe and my throat has been hurting me. I keep thinking my living situation with my narcissistic mom can’t get any worse but it is. I don’t know how much longer I can live here with my mom.

“My aunt is great. Living with her is great. She’s nice. She’s the complete opposite of everything I used to know.”
“BUT CAN SHE STOP BARGING INTO MY ROOM WITHOUT WARNING!? LET A GUY HAVE SOME PRIVACY!”
“Dad never did that. I guess that’s because he didn’t care. It’s weird having someone around who cares.”
“Why am I typing this? I don’t even know.”

I don't usually make posts like this, but I have a friend who desperately needs help.
She doesn't have enough money to make her rent, and she's getting thrown out by the end of the month if she can't get her rent together. She and her SO don't have anywhere to go if they get evicted.
I know begging for help on her behalf is probably a shitty thing to do, but I can't bear to see my friend end up on the streets. If anyone can spare any change to help them, that would help them so much...
Of course, there is absolutely no pressure. I just want to help my friend by spreading the word.

Medieval Living Situations
Tumblr media
It is Sunday and Sunday means I am gonna ramble about history. Yay.
So, please, let me ramble about one thing that I see a lot of people struggle with, because modern sensibilities often collide with medieval practicality.
And that is medieval living situations.
Also, yes, this is a topic I kinda ramble a lot about because my main fandoms are both medieval or quasi medieval and I see a lot of people being super awkward about it.
Let me say it clear and loud: A lot of medieval houses had only one or two rooms.
I know, when people think about medieval houses they often tend to think about castles or at least manors of some sort, because those have more commonly been preserved. Or if anything some bigger farmsteads (usually those, that are in fact not medieval but rather date back to the 18th century). But... That was just not usual medieval living.
A lot of people in the middle ages lived in a house that had one room - or maybe two with a bed chamber and a main room.
This was both because they often had small houses, but also... because in winter you needed to keep the rooms warm somehow and that was easier if you only had one room. It was just more practical that way.
Of course, this depended on how rich people were. Some might have had a house with a couple more rooms. And a lot of farms might have had a place for the farmer and his family to sleep and then a different one for the farmhands and maids, if they could afford those. But for the most part: No, kids did not get their individual rooms from each other. And often enough not from their parents either.
Which, yes: For most of human history children tended to be privy to their parents fucking. This goes back even further than the middle ages. Because... well, yeah. It just was a thing.
Sure, in the households of the richer family, things might have been different in this regard... But for most people things were just a bit more practical and a bit less idealistic.
Depending on your economic standing, you also might only have a straw mattress. And if you were able to afford wool mattresses those would probably keep in the family for long.
Issue with this obviously being flees and the sorts. While people knew how to protect themselves in some ways... Those buggers tended to really be an issue for a fucking long time of human history.
Some folks however did figure out that burning certain herbs in the fireplace of their one room, made those little buggers more likely to move out. So, not all was lost for everyone.
Oh, and if the nights became to cold and the wood to keep you warm to expensive... You also could just move some cattle into the house and have them warm you up.
What I am trying to say is: We often look at medieval times too much with modern sensibilities. Stuff like: "Cattle has to live apart from humans," and "I need a nice soft mattresse," and also "kids should not be exposed to any sex". But... historically folks had to think just a bit more practical about how they designed their homes and lived.
And the thing is: That is alright. It did not make the people back then super miserable. Because life... Just is life.

Getting shit done today.
Put away clean laundry, collected dirty laundry, cleaned the kitchen, scrubbed down the big terrarium/paludarium and replaced and treated all its water, gave Stella a couple of mealworms, got a fresh clementine slice for Beatrice, and am working on bug treating and watering every plant in the plant room and cleaning the entire room.
Beatrice has lived half of her adult lifespan already, so I’m taking loads of pictures and videos of her. There’s a good chance she won’t make it past my work start date (feb 21)

Honestly if that’s his apartment that is strange to me, as it looks very small and grey. Why would briana have a larger house than him?
Hi dear,
Because he's pretty much never in LA, so he doesn't need a huge empty house for the 3 weeks a year he spends there. A small apartment is way easier for a temporary residence. You don't need to worry about maintenance, security or anything, because the building takes care of it all for you.
Also, Briana's house is Louis'. He bought it, but it was recently sold. Idk about the new one, but it could very well be Louis' too.
I got a lot of comments about his LA apartment. Yeah, it looked like a mess with a bunch of stuff scattered around. But like.... just think for a second. It's probably just a base apartment that he keeps to have a spot to go to without having to stay at a hotel. It's more private. Also, the scene they showed was the one with Freddie. I don't exactly remember what was all over his apartment, but it looked like he had just gotten there, suitcase still by the door. They mentioned buying a kite to fly on the beach, so I think some of the stuff was the box and packaging the kite came in.
As for the comments about it not looking up to Louis' standards...yeah, it was a mess, but he's also never there. I know they tried to say he's always flying to LA, but we know that's not entirely true. So my guess is that apartment just sits empty 95% of the year. And like....have you guys ever been in an apartment building? It looked pretty standard...him going down to the garage was pretty normal??? Why were you hating on his apartment building garage?????? hvbkhdsbvkhb
Also, I'm unsure when that clip is from exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if that's a rental, so I'm not sure if he still has that apartment or if he moved since.
I also got comments about stuff being in Oli's name as opposed to Louis', and that's true. Briana's house used to be in a trust under Oli's name, so I'd bet whatever other property they have is the same. Same thing goes for Harry - he has a lot of properties under trusts and not his name.

Hi Sabine, here’s the link to Briana’s house that sold. I compared the kitchen from the real estate images to the deep fake video of Freddie in a kitchen and they match. Being in this fandom has improved my FBI skills no end 😂

My parents and I live together. It works due to a lot of communications and boundaries in my twenties. Also built a house with dual living spaces, which only happened due to being lucky enough to live in a city with relatively low cost of housing and saving on rent. AND ALSO I come from a culture where multigenerational living situation is normalised. There's none of this stupid expectations that at 18 you must leave the home and see the world. I've seen the world without having to sacrifice my connection with my family or the safety of a home I can go back to.
In my work I see a lot of young parents who are struggling due to not having any family to help them when one of them is sick or their child is sick. New parents who come for advice that an aunt/uncle or parent could answer (and my aunts/uncles HAVE for my cousins). Immigrant parents who are struggling without the family network that has supported them back home.
A lot of my peers and colleagues made fun of me for still living with my parents in my twenties, but boy has the tone changed in our mid-thirties. Suddenly it's you're so lucky to be living with your parents, and it must be so nice to have cooked meals ready for you. And you know what, it is nice. It's really lovely to know we can be there for each other.
