A figure of incredible popularity, who exists in history more surely than the warriors and statesmen in whose time he lived and had his being. An illusion so real, that one might some day look about for him in Heaven, forgetting that he was only a character in a book.

Here is another portion of that goofy victorian interaction
Can you tell im really enjoying their nose dynamic(💞)
Tbh the Legend of Baskerville theme from this series is a total banger, and considered a love theme (by me). Go listen to it on youtube now!(minute 25:55)
Having a lot of thoughts on the Baskerville episodes from this series being the most mysterious and entertaining (to me), especially as a kid, due to the soundtracks, almost complete absence of Sherlock, sudden change of setting to the countryside, etc., etc.
The last time i rewatched it though, they just appeared to me too long, but its probably because i was busy drawing throughout the sequence. I have to re-check sometime soon.

Revisiting my love of these Victorian boyfriends/husbands/domestic partners/soulmates has helped me so much through these past few months 💖
Continuing on (slowly) to discover the other Holmes/Watson duos I haven't properly watched/listened to yet...

fully justified, imo. :)
Undoubtedly recreating the iconic scene from 'The Final Problem' presents the ultimate challenge for any adaptation of Sherlock Holmes. Actor, writer and director combined must try to transfer the somber peril and pathos from page to screen.
In this compilation, I compare the approaches of adaptations featuring of three of the 20th century's most iconic Holmes actors.

Vasily Livanov is my favorite Holmes too.
No idea why I do this, or if anyone else does it at all, but I tend to think of different adaptations of Sherlock Holmes with different names (the characters). Can't understand what I'm going on about?
The Sherlock Holmes of 56 short stories and 4 novels I call Holmes. Just Holmes. Not Sherlock Holmes, not Sherlock, not Mr Sherlock Holmes or any other variations. I just refer to him as Holmes in my head. The only person in this universe who calls him Sherlock is Watson (and on the rare occasion that they actually talk, Mycroft.)
BBC Sherlock character I call Sherlock. He is not Sherlock Holmes. To me, he is just a smart guy in a long coat named Sherlock who solves crimes and is occasionally rude. Even TAB Special, with all its Victorian mannerisms and dresses, could not change that. So it's not a time period thing.
Granada series Sherlock Holmes is named Sherlock Holmes. The entire name. To me he is Sherlock Holmes and nothing more. The essence of the stories brought to life. No designations and no shortenings for him.
Soviet Sherlock Holmes is Mr Sherlock Holmes because I... I don't know. He gives off that professional aura at all times, even when he is being utterly domestic (or hugging Watson and crying). This is something the books and Granada fail to do.
Basil Rathbone movies, Downey Films, and most other major adaptations share the title of Mr Holmes. They are not something I have watched in a long time, and not something that moved me as Sherlock Holmes adaptations.
Honourable Mention 1: The Great Mouse Detective is Basil or Basil of Baker Street in my head.
Honourable Mention 2: HBO Originals Miss Sherlock is usually Miss Sherlock but I do call her Sara Shelly sometimes.

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson (1980), S02E03, The Tiger Hunt
Your violin cradled under his chin and the bow held gingerly in his fingertips,
He could not play,
But the strings keened as the instrument kissed his cheek for you.

Tumblr not letting me post but she doesn’t know my annoying ass is crazy!!
Had an elaborate post for this one, but tumblr also said not today and didn’t save it so
The only two things i remember is my tier for the amount of legendary in the soundtracks in detective media i’ve watched & how i think i drew mrs Hudson pretty recognisable here.
As for the top 3 sexiest intros
1. Obviously soviet sherlock
2. Poirot the series has it unnecessarily hot
3. chip&dale rescue rangers of 1984
(I forgot to put twin peaks intro oh-
It goes after chip&dale)
Oh, also, watched “top 30 johnlock” on yt today, was delighted to see both fem and masc soviet adaptations so high on the list

"For a moment or two I sat breathless, hardly able to believe my ears. Then my senses and my voice came back to me, while a crushing weight of responsibility seemed in an instant to be lifted from my soul. That cold, incisive, ironical voice could belong to but one man in all the world."
