Little league team puts cotton in their black teammate’s hair on live TV A Davenport, Iowa, little league team was seen on national TV putting cotton in their black teammate’s hair. Writer for BSO, Robert Littal, recently reported that a black child was the victim of a racist hazing incident which was shown on live TV during the Little League World Series and was promoted by ESPN. The BSO article reported that ESPN covered the event as, “kids being kids” and that it was a sort of hazing ritual for the black child to go through. “Twitter Wants Answers From the Little League and @ESPN on Why They Promoted a Black Child Having Cotton Put on His Head Like a Pet By His Teammates and Coaches During Little League World Series Coverage. Littal reported that the coaches also failed to take action in the incident and may have even participated. Wow what a day yesterday. I am honored to be the California District 17 Tournament Director for PALL - Pasadena American Little League. It’s a whole lot of work that’s no doubt… but from 7:00am to about 8:30pm it’s was nothing but baseball… the cheers, the crack of the bat, the screams of parents, the music, the announcing of the every player of every game, the dirt, the debates… all of it. It is a honor to represent PALL and CA District 17. Thank you to league president Kevin Lewis and District 17 Chair - Sean Diaz for their tireless work in keeping it all together. Today my wife @shaynamusic came and fed us - Thank You HONEY, my son @julienlucatrue came and announced, picked songs announced baseball Trivia Time and gave prizes away and most of all helped the brothers…. There’s NO way I could do any of this without Rodrigo, Manny and Domingo!!! For real, these guys ARE baseball and I’m personally beyond grateful not only for their help but for their taking in Julien and making him one of the team. Yesterday was long, it was hot, it was hard, but being a volunteer for baseball and little league is special. First 4 games are down… (I’ll get better pix next time)… oh and lastly - I’ve been designing apparel and logos for the league for a few years now.. this years uniform designs are simple and cool, we worked out a simplistic design and made it happen, Thanks Kevin!! Wow what an experience. I love this game wether it be baseball, softball, little league or mlb - it’s deeply rooted in me and super special. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and helped.
