Kunizai AU where marine biologist Kunikida rescues sickly merperson Dazai and nurses him back to health.

Also Dazai is like this big 🤏

He's a sulky little grump, who bites Kunikida whenever he has to untangle Dazai from the plants in his tank. Dazai is that fish that will jump out the tank the moment you open the tank.

Normally, Kunikida's policy would be to release Dazai back into the ocean once he's healthier, but Dazai has tattered fins that never healed properly and it means he doesn't swim that well. So he has to stay in captivity.

Kunikida thinks that Dazai hates him because of how he acts around him, but the first time Kunikida left for longer than a day, Dazai refused to eat anything Katai gave him and sulked in his hide all day. (Yes, his hide is a big princess castle)
