The funny thing about developing a strong vocabulary from reading and writing is that you often get the feel of words without truly knowing their definition. Can I use this word in a sentence correctly? Definitely. Can I explain its precise meaning? Not a chance.

It’s always been fascinating to me how things can be simultaneously true and false, how people can be good and bad all in one, how someone can love you in a way that is beautifully selfless while serving themselves ruthlessly.

Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood. (...) Being a half-blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it gets you killed in painful nasty ways.

@litlovers february-march book club pick ↳ little women by louisa may alcott
a year seems very long to wait before i see them, but remind them that while we wait we may all work, so that these hard days need not be wasted. i know they will remember all i said to them, that they will be loving children to you, will do their duty faithfully, fight their bosom enemies bravely, and conquer themselves so beautifully that when i come back to them i may be fonder and prouder than ever of my little women. hi hi! i've been absent for a while now and i wanna ask... what happened with all the lit edits accounts and tags? can you help me, please? 🥺
oh anon, welcome back 😭 i wish i knew the answer to this too…
i haven’t been in the tags in a while, i’m sure there are still people posting, but so many lit people i know moved to twitter or focus on other types of content atm same with lit net owners / people who had the edit blogs 💔 also, posting lit edits isn’t very rewarding (from a notes pov) and since the quarantine is over i assume people don’t have that much time to focus on editing, unfortunately
every once in a while i still check the litedits tag or yalitedits! there are still people posting that you could follow 💛 as for blogs, i think @booksociety @litlovers and @dailylit are still active!

TCL's 5th My Life in Books (aka Life According to Literature) Tag - 2023 Version.
TCL's 5th "My Life in Books" (aka Life According to Literature) Tag - 2023 Version. Discover how I finished these prompts using only the titles of #books I read and #reviewed in 2023! Thanks to AnnaBookBel @annabookbel for this fun yearly #bookmeme!
No, you haven’t clicked on a misplaced link. You see, I’m not sure who started this, but I did a list like this in 2019 which was called “Life According to Literature” with different prompts. These were done by Brona’s Books, ANZ LitLovers LitBlog, and Veronica @ The Burgeoning Book Shelf. I understand that Veronica originally found it on Theresa Smith Writes  and  Claire’s Reads and Reviews,…

"Guilt is a hunter." - Joana "Fate is a hunter." - Florian "Shame is a hunter." - Emilia "Fear is a hunter." - Alfred 💙 Have you ever heard of the Wilhelm Gustloff? Not many have. I learned about it in college during my History of Germany class when we read a book called Crabwalk. 💙 When asked: "what is the worst maritime disaster in history?" Many would answer "the Titanic...duh" but they would be wrong. 💙 The Wilhelm Gustloff was sunk by a Russian torpedo in 1945 sending thousands of innocent civilians into the frozen waters of the Baltic Sea. 💙 When I found out that Salt to the Sea involved the Gustloff I jumped on it. I'm about 100 pages in and I'm dying 😭😱 so good!! 💙 #bookstagram #beachreads #longbeachisland #LBI #jerseyshore #bookphoto #salttothesea #historicalfiction #worldwarii #rutasepetys #worldwar2 #bibliophile #bookdragon #bookaddict #booklover #litlover #addictedtoreading #sand https://www.instagram.com/p/BnwuHbdFVO6/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=xsdpgybn9185

@lgbtqcreators creator meme — [3/10] lgbtq+ characters
“Ambition was such a dirty word, so tainted, but she had it. She was enslaved by it. There was so much ego to the concept of fate, but she needed to cling to it. She needed to believe she was meant for enormity; that the fulfillment of a destiny could make for the privilege of salvation, even if it didn't feel that way right now.”
