Here it is - my 2024 Read of the Year! I had to go with the one that ate my brain long after the cover closed. This book took a writing cliché - telling the same story from another character's perspective - and made it shine. The author added in several new chapters to give us a well-rounded behind-the-scenes story for Casteel that brought so much more depth and sparkle to the original story. I adored this book and have reread it off and on all year.

I realized a few months ago that I had no Middle Grade books on my list, so I figured I’d end the year with a quick and easy read. Wow, was I ever in for a treat!
