jonas venture's most famous inventions comfort each other after his death. <3

putting this under a read more bc i know im gonna get rambly BUT: the main idea behind this comic was that i got the mental image of helper being the first person to greet rusty in the (now) empty venture compound after jonas dies and rusty drops out. after a rewatch of the series i noticed that TECHNICALLY he wouldve seen helper again before this bc we see him in a flashback opening the car door for him as he leaves college so this comic TECHNICALLY doesnt make sense but im pretending that didnt happen. ANYWAY theres just smth so depressing to me about these two.......the fact that helper is the only one whos ALWAYS with him when we see a flashback to younger rusty. this robot loves him more than his actual father and it makes me deeply upset.

#literally the scene of Nami reading Zoro Noland’s book at the Baratie is my favorite addition #cause East Blue Nami is so damn prideful so seeing her do something that seems silly-#(reading to someone who isn’t listening)#-is such a fun way to mark her progress as a character #I can see her being the one to remind Sanji of Zeff’s advice and the act of reading to Zoro being a way to process the sort of.#hit to his pride and even self-perception that is Zoro’s interference in Thriller Bark.#why did Zoro stop him? Why would Zoro want to die in his place? Choose his dream instead of his own?#(maybe because he knew that sitting by your friend’s still body- helpless- is the worst feeling in the world)#Aside from this though I can specifically see the book being about the All Blue working #cause its a reminder about what a wonderful dream Sanji has. It’s a way to regain vigor and the willingness to fight for it #after having just tried to discard it in the face of Kuma moments prior. i love themes. i love when i'm writing and i'm like ughhh i have to come up with some filler bullshit details to go here because it's necessary to the rest of the plot but not actually very relevant to it, and then i'm like wait. i know how to make it relevant. i just have to make the details echo the overarching themes of the piece. and suddenly it stops being filler bullshit and starts being, like, foreshadowing or allegory or some cool shit like that ^w^

#silverstarschat #literally my number one favorite writing advice #need a side character to have a problem for the protag to help fix? make it parallel the protag's problems #need the characters to chat about something while their body language tells the real story?#have them chat about a book plot that foreshadows their own plot #need to set the scene by describing the curtains? make them fucking blue! bc the characters are sad!!#until the golden light of the rising sun in the next chapter shines through and turns them into the same bright turquoise as her #childhood blankets bc! her friend that just called makes her feel like her life is beginning anew!!#or whatever the fuck!!!!!!!!!!#yay ^^
