you give him a quick kiss, shooting up from the seat to go meet your members. seungmin leaves too, sitting down at stray kids’ respective table.

his eyes stay fixed on the stage, waiting for your performance to start. the lights dim, and he sits up straight. it’s time for your performance.

there’s no point in recording, he knows they’ll have a fancam. right now, he just wants to watch his baby shine. 

and you do. you look absolutely gorgeous on stage, the lights hitting you at the perfect angles. the track starts, and the crowd starts cheering.

so many people, just for five girls performing. the first song is a ballad, something slow to set the mood. it’s one of your favorite songs from the comeback.

though munhee wrote the song due to her own experiences, your voice carries the same amount of emotion hers does, and it makes the lyrics sound so much more authentic.

seungmin watches from the crowd, he truly thinks he might cry. the rest of the boys are in awe too, some members of gidle clasping their hands over their mouths in surprise.

everyone is used to you doing intricate dances with upbeat music, and they’ve truly never been able to appreciate your vocals.

then it hits the climax of the song, ending with a high note you must complete. as scared you are of heights, you know it’s inevitable. the platforms will go up, whether you like it or not.

its a small space that you have to maintain, but you try your best to focus on the song. and now, you have to sing.

you close your eyes, letting out your voice, and it sounds absolutely angelic. and then you open them again once you hear the low whirring of the platforms.

they all go up. 

except for yours.

nonetheless, you continue singing, determined to keep your professionalism throughout the entire bridge. and then the song ends. the platforms finally lower back down, and all of you wait for your cues to leave.

once you see it, you take a step.

you shouldn’t have.

all of a sudden, your platform shoots all the way up. eight feet in the air. before you have time to process, it wobbles side to side and you fall off.

seungmin stands up instantly, rushing to get backstage. he doesn’t care how many people hes pushed and shoved, but he needs to know that you’re okay.

and then a shrill scream fills the air, and his heart stops. it feels like your entire foot is about to fall off, the pressure from your fall crushing it under your weight.

he continues running as fast as he can, getting backstage before you can even blink. “baby? oh my god…”

you’re still crying from the pain, being set onto a stretcher for your leg. “it hurts…”

“i know baby… i know. you’ll be okay…”

they finally get you onto a comfortable bed, evaluating the damage to your ankle. luckily there’s no blood, the medics assume that it’s broken.

“seungmin… you’re on soon.”

“i’m not performing. jeongin’s filling in for me today.”

“what? but you practiced…”

“please… let me stay. i just want to help you feel better…”

you grab onto his hand, trying your best to reassure him that you’re okay. he doesn’t budge, so you just give up on it. 

“you did amazing, angel.”

“thank you…”

“no, really. i mean it. you kept it incredibly professional out there. plus the song was way outside your comfort zone, it was just amazing to hear you sing like that.”

“seungmin…”

“i’m going to kill whoever fucking did that to you. normally they’re more careful with these things… i should’ve had them double check or something. i’m sorry”

“hey, it’s not your fault. please don’t worry… it’s just my ankle. i’ll be fine, really.”

you smile, grabbing onto his hand and bringing it up to your lips to plant a small kiss over his wrist. “it was just a malfunction. it was out of our control, min.”

he clutches onto your hand tighter, his heart fluttering when he looks at you again. the black lightning-like streaks paint your face, eyes still slightly glossed over and nose red.

you’re so worn down, but you still look beautiful as ever. he prefers you like this, natural and authentic. you still look just as beautiful, but the black streaks have his heart clenching.

suddenly, he gets up, picking you up and moving you to the side a little. he’s extra careful not to apply any pressure to your ankle. he knows you’re in enough pain already.

he sits down in the empty space next to you, pulling your head to his chest. “you promise you’re okay? no discomfort?”

“it hurts of course, but other than that, no.”

“i’m so sorry…”

“baby, it’s really not your fault.”

he rubs up and down your arms, more so to soothe himself rather than you, and you smile up at him. you place a small kiss on the corner of his lips, as far as you can reach without moving your legs.

“i’m okay…”

the medics finally come back, telling you that it’s only a fracture. you’re lucky you don’t need a cast, but you still need to heal for a little while.

he cuts you off again.

you lean over to plant one more kiss onto his jaw, and he pulls you onto his lap. “seungmin, i think you’re more upset about this than me…”

“of course i’m upset! they hurt my baby…”

he pulls you flush against his chest, nuzzling his face into your neck. you giggle at him, a little confused as to why he’s licking you, but you stop once you realize that it’s not saliva.

“it could have been so much worse…”

you wipe the tears from his face, smiling once you see him clearly again. “why are you crying?”

he sighs lightly, giggling when he realizes how he’s acting. “nothing, i’m just… glad you’re okay.”

you smile at him, holding his hand again and trying to sit up. it doesn’t work of course, seungmins arms are wrapped tightly around your waist.

“let me go!”

you thrash around in his arms, but he only holds onto you tighter, giggling as he watches.

“they said you needed rest!”

he rolls his eyes playfully, planting a kiss onto the top of your head. “actually, thats exactly what it means.”

[flufftober day 30, wc: 568] - practice room ghost caught live : n. koko

“NAYAS, HELLO!” you wave to the phone camera, koko sitting down next to you. you watch your reflections in the practice room mirror, reminding yourself to take some selfies with your bandmate after the live.

izna has recently debuted (and no, you’ll never tire of bragging about debuting at the mama awards) and the group’s popularity has been booming. multiple fancams went viral, the cheers at music shows are deafening, and every day you wake up to hundreds of thousands of notifications from social media. you never thought you would make it this far—i-land 2 seems so long ago now. all of your hard work has paid off.

back to the livestream, you wave for a few moments longer before excusing yourself to get an energy drink from your bag in the back of the studio, koko keeping the viewers entertained on the instagram live by using several filters and attempting to trigger the ‘heart’ effect with her hands. when you return, some kind of alien filter automatically adjusts to appear on your face instead of koko’s.

“what is this,” you struggle to contain your laughter, “su-su-su-supernova?”

both of you break out into a mini dance session, doing the hand movements for the dance break of the mentioned song. the chat explodes, talking about aespa and izna crumbs and the like, or some just singing along to the lyrics even without the background music. the filter stays on your face the whole time, and when koko takes notice of this she starts rolling on the floor laughing.

“you, you look so funny, y/n!” she smacks the floor with an open palm. whether it’s because she can’t reach you, or the floor has wronged her back, is a mystery to you, just like whatever she says is unpredictable… “oh my—i can’t breathe!”

just as you’re about to open your mouth to say something, the light flickers and immediately ceases the girl’s laughter and also shuts you up. she sits up, scooting up to you and you hear an (comical? loud.) audible gulp right as she holds onto your arm. the only source of light in the practice room is your phone screen, showing comments in a blur, probably reflecting your fearful state as well. a loud thump resounds throughout the room, now you’re the one gulping.

“ko-chan,” you mumble, gripping onto the fabric of her hoodie, “what was that.”

“i don’t know,” she shakes her head, only the outline of her jaw visible with the lighting from the phone. “are you scared?”

you wonder what the answer to that question is. oh wait. “yes? what was that, we’re the only ones in here, what the heck!”

another thud hits, accompanied by the sound of some cables falling to the ground. you would turn on the light, but you’re literally stuck in place right now, both from koko’s grip on your arm, and the fear that has locked your legs in place. you swear you can hear some whispers of something, but the lights turn back on and the door is left open.

koko glances at you quickly before scrambling to get the phone and cut the live short. she pulls you up, your legs still shaking, and pointing to your bag and then to the door. “we should go home. right now.”“yes,” you nod, “i am not coming back here again unless everyone else is with us.”

RIGHT HI HELLO i'm going to make a quick post discussing what's been happening over on twitter these past few days, but it's going to be very long as I'm including as much context as possible!

Before the majority of the post begins, for context: IZ-san does not allow any edits of their artwork, including video fancams, meme edits, and even color filters. Nothing of the sort regarding their artwork is permitted. Full guidelines regarding their work can be found here, so please give it a read if you haven't already! I've been seeing more and more people across various socials disrespect their boundaries, and it's only basic manners to respect them.

It started with a peing ask (similar to curiouscat or retrospring for non-en twitter users) regarding Noel's status as a transgender character

To briefly summarize, it this ask explains that since Noel was Patricia, many people mistake him for a transgender character. It goes on to ask about IZ-san's opinions on trans and LGBT headcanons for their characters, and apologizes if their questions don't make sense as they are using a translator.

They included a translated version of their response in english, so I'll be sharing that below as well.

To put it simply, none of the characters in Witch's Heart are written as members of the LGBT community. While these headcanons are allowed, they should not pretend that these are official and should not use IZ-san's illustrations to share them.

They quietly added onto this after posting their response

They build onto this the next day, first tweeting in japanese, and then in english. I'm sharing the english screenshots below.

Again, they are nothing but respectful about the situation. They've chalked it up to cultural differences, but in my opinion it's not even a cultural difference. It's others pushing their interpretations of the characters onto the fucking developer of the game. The characters of Witch's Heart aren't those made by some big company, they're literally IZ-san's OCs that they've been kind enough to share with us. They do build onto the cultural differences interpretation here, again showing nothing but their attempt to understand why people are time and time again horrible to them.

After this, they received another very very long peing ask, which I'll include the MTL of below.

Their response isn't translated this time, so I'm including the MTL below.

They explain their perspective, as well as the japanese perspective on LGBT+ representation-- specifically that many people in Japan consider it disrespectful to include LGBT+ characters in works that are not themed around the subject.

They build onto this in their tweets after answering this question, some of which are screenshotted below. I won't be screenshotting everything as this post is long enough as it is, but if you're interested please go check out the rest!

After this point, IZ-san hasn't tweeted anything new outside of replies to those offering their support.

To summarize all of this succinctly: you're allowed to have your own personal headcanons! However, they aren't allowed in the official tag (#witchsheart), and should be kept to the non-official-content tags if mentioned (#whnoc + #whnos). Additionally you cannot pretend that your headcanons are canon, and use that argument to harass others over them. You are also not permitted to use official art in sharing these headcanons. Please be respectful of IZ-san's boundaries as they've had to explain this way too many fucking times.

From here on it's just going to be my opinion on everything, so feel free to stop reading from here if that's not something that interests you. In my opinion, main problem here doesn't have anything to do with headcanoning or editing IZ-san's art: it's a simple matter of respect. Witch's Heart is an indie game made by a single person in their attempt to share their characters and their story with people worldwide. Why do people treat it as if it's some big game made by a corporation? Why the fuck are you so entitled to someone else's artwork and characters that you'd go out of your way to disrespect their very clear boundaries? This isn't unique to IZ-san, there have been so many other creators having similar issues. Segawa-san disallowed english translations of their work entirely because so many people were reposting and editing their artwork. Even EN artists are having similar struggles-- just look at Welcome Home and all the fan merch people made against partycoffin's wishes. The commodification of someone else's OCs has got to fucking stop, you can't claim them just because they got popular!! It's not even limited to just gamedevs and content creators-- people feel entitled to doing what they please with even just fanart. Many of my friends and I have had our work reposted without permission, even when "DO NOT REPOST" is written all over it in clearly visible and bold letters. Literally last fucking week I saw a group of like 14-year olds harassing a kr artist because they asked them not to repost their art, and these fucking kids responded by maliciously editing and tracing and reposting it even more. There's a level of basic human decency that isn't being met in fandom overall nowadays, but especially rpgmaker circles and it makes me so fucking sad. It's not that hard to be a decent human being so just fucking stop.

im gonna use some annoying comments i got on my reclaimed pearl as a springboard for what i think could be interesting discussion because i think its good to engage with criticism/different opinions. but also if you talk to me like an asshole i want you to fuck off and i promised i wouldnt engage in that kind of stuff bc its not good for me and it doesnt Look good for me either.

so i can talk about my thoughts but not engage directly, win win. its been months but im still really fond of the pearl i made specially this art. like it coudl be better but i like it well enough. just a little header so this isnt a boring post with only text

i think like, its good to establish ground rules that like, i think most of the poor reactions ive seen towards my art were missing, mostly in bad faith probably but in case theres ppl who earnestly want to understand. actually maybe i can format it like a little FAQ even though theyre not frequent or asked lskdjg just for outlining my points. ill put it behind a cut but ill frontline w this: if youre a fan of pearl in the show, this content is not for you. youre allowed to like whatever you want and so am i. if you like her, we probably wont get along and you probably will feel very personally irritated by how i FEEL about her, so just walk away now. im not gonna engage with petty shit taht juts boils down to 'im mad you dont like what i like'

why did you change pearl?

because i hate her, simple as. i went from a huge SU fan to hating watching it (i did finish) and pearl is probably The biggest reason why, as like issues with her character seep into other aspects of the show that i also hate. like i mean i Realyl hate her. she makes the experience of watching the show really irritating and miserable for me. if you dont feel taht way about her thats totally normal and whatever but no one is gonna change my experience and feelings that i had watching SU since the 1st season was coming out.; anyway answering. there is a Lot i love about SU and want to engage with, so i had the idea of like,maybe ill just change pearl, cause i wanted to delete her, really, but she is one of the main characters and she hasa function as a character that you cant just do away with. essentially im just like, some guy, who draws, coping and trying to reclaim his teenage investimetn in this show. literally its just for ME. but if anyone else feels like i do, then they can enjoy it too. if somoene doesnt feel like i do, go watch like pearl fancams or smth. like ill never be able to literlaly change the show as it is, like its happened, and its a tragedy im trying to move on from (begrudgingly)

why do you hate pearl?

the long laundry list of reasons are probably apparent in the ways i remade her lol (theyre not i can tell ppl are gonna project whatever worst bad faith reason for any change i make) but tbh the core of it is this, which is like, beyond whatever traits she has and whatever: she reminds me of my abusers. always had, from season 1, but like it became worse as the series went on. its like really infurating and upsetting to watch SU bc of her. had my abusers been a different kind of person, maybe i wouldnt hate her so much (kinda doubt tbh). like her personality and behavior are like hough disgosting!!

why did you change (some physical trait about her design)?

i dont really necessarily have a PROBLEM with canon pearls design. over the years ive come to like SU's style less and less but like, gestures, whatever. like i didnt like it or anything but its not like a bit deal compared to the actual offender that is her personality and behavior. the reason i redesigned her at all is bc like, if i hadnt, i would still be thinking about the way she is in canon all the time. like ive visually associated her like, appearance with all the shit about her thta makes me upset so i had to so she didnt look like the same person anymore, and i can try to let go of some of the hatred in my heart. like i want to think about the thigns about SU that i loved and also the potential i always saw in it and canon pearl is like, an active obstacle to that, to the point taht i cant even see her without getting like irked. i tried to keep enough similar traits so from a glance youd be like, who the fuck- is that pearl? rather than like. completely change her entirely to whatever i wanted. i do want to like, its a creative exercise. i want to try and change the things that would make me happy to see gone but try to work within the constraints of the SU we Did get as much as i can tolerate. bc like.... if the sky was the limit then at this poin wed just have to throw the whole thing away and start from scratch. like its kinda not really very salvageable, like im not rewirting SU to be like a Good show or fix Everything, its kinda too broken. im just chnaging enough so i can look at the actual show, screenshots, songs etc, and not feel overcome wtih like the grief and irriatation of how much it sucked ass. its just so i can enjoy more of it again

cool. thanks for your input. youre welcome! eat my asshole. seriously though, like, shrugs. i didnt make it for anyone other than myself. tbh im not fully satisfied with it either bc i think the SU style is kinda ugly, so im at a crossroads. should i mostly abandon the SU style? ive like, tested out tweaking things, it mightve been noticeable in screenshot redraws. drawing within the SU style is to create that coping 'oh it was totally like this haha' vibe but maybe im old enough to not need that anymore lol. like ive heard ppl say shit like shes ugly, or like sneakily trying to imply im like, got some agenda over beauty or racism etc. like whatever, think whatever you want, its not for you. go back to sucking up to rebecca or smth like i cant take the og pearl away from you still i am open for like that kind of criticism like, do i have personal biases affecting my design decisions? probably. i do try to keep aware of why im choosing certain things, but really in this case i cant emphasize enough how like, irritating it is that i have to change her design at all. like its hard to come up w smth else when the rest of the cast ahs already been design to balance off the og pearl. i probably wouldnt change almost anything if the sight of her didnt piss me the fuck off! most of all i kinda wouldve preferred to keep her hair short bc it messes up the sillouete but it makes me think too much of canon pearl so i made it long :/ i was like let me tell you my design thought process: -im gonna try to keep as many recognizable traits about her design while taking away bit by bit until she doesnt look like the og pearl to me anymore and i dont feel angry seeing her. pearl is lanky, tall, spindly, with a gem on the forehead, blue white pink yellow pastel colors, large pointed nose. i kinda tried to keep these traits while slightly tweaking their design until she looked different enough. is it a good design? eh idk. like the purpose is to make me not hate her and it does that job

the only thing i can assume is that like, some people must interpret the absence of an assholey personality or like abusive behavior is 'boring'. i know thats a really bad faith assumption but like, if ive written down a bunch of personality traits and you still come out saying thats 'no personality' what am i to make of that lol. based on my experience like Existing online, people tend to often call nice characters 'boring', like dude ive done it before, but i think im kinda over that edgy phase. also again, its for me and not for you so if you think shes boring, thanks for your input i dont care. but thinkign about it earnestly, i dfeintely dont want to make a character thats just no flaw and not interesting ofc, i havent done that with reclaimed pearl. that being said i havent like, probably written a lot demonstrating what i want her to be like instead of the canon pearl so, maybe ppl just are feeling lost with the lack of information.

personally, if i hear someone thinks a character is boring bc theyre not abusive anymore like, nothing of value has been lost. but characters do need flaws in order to create conflict and cause things to happen, like in a way canon pearl is like All flaw, which wouldnt be a problem except she gets away wtih all the horrible shit she did. heres some traits i want to explore with reclaimed pearl, some are similar to canon i just wanna go about it a different way: being overprotective/possessive to steven in a smothering way, projecting abandonment issues, not reaching out/communicating her emotions properly, lacking indepedence/self worth, depending on others to avoid confronting her own issues, being very passive and insecure and lacking initiative (this being the totally opposite trait that canon pearl has), stunting stevens development due to her not being ready for him to grow up and not need her anymore. and more, this is just from the top of my head. maybe thats still too 'boring' for ppl because shes not being selfish and inconsiderate enough to others so you can relate to her but i dont care :p

I mean, seeing what the ISU Awards has become... do we really want Shoma (and Stephane) to be involved in that mess? It's so... self-celebratory, lol. Anyway if people really want to watch a really good ice show, Daisuke's ice show KASSOUYA in Fukuoka was also running this weekend and they allow fancams... from what I can see on X/Twitter it's much better than AOI, sorry not sorry.

KASSOUYA seems indeed a wonderful ice show. The snippets look very cool. I wonder what brought them to allow fancams and if they keep it that way or only because they wanted to promote the show in sns 🤔 In Japan ice shows are growing. I am glad for every opportunity for the skaters.

In a way Shoma is involved in the award anyway. He was in the nominations, even if he didn't win. Not that this award has any sort of negative or positive impact on anyone really. I think Shoma would just deserve more recognition by the ISU. That's all, not that the award itself is worth anything. I guess nobody will be remembered for earning a skating award. Yet Shoma and Kaori not winning against Ilia when Ilia is here for two seasons and did get one title only feels odd. If it's solely on social media engagement well than Adam's backflip gained huge attention at Euros, Kaori's SP last season was literally retweeted by Janet Jackson herself, Livia Kaiser's FS was retweeted by Rachel Zegler and beside that it shows that ISU is not aware of what Shoma did for the sport. OPOI brought another crowd to figure skating. (SOI in the US just got canceled for the season for a lack of interest as it appears btw) But ofc this whole award show is playing into the hand of those ppl who always had a say in skating North America and Europe. Ilia's management is practically involved in the show, so winning an award two times in a row - one which was just invented for him last season - a devlish thought may come to mind 🙃

I think the crowd for an ice show is different than for a competition. At Nebelhorn Trophy usually the arena is more packed for the gala than for the actual competition. Those ppl there don't come bc of the names of the skaters, they come for a fun evening like going to the circus. I also went couple of times to Holiday on Ice, I was also at Disney on Ice (ice shows that come to my hometown are an easy choice to go to). At Holiday on Ice last year Papadakis/Cizeron were invited and I totally chose a date where they would perform in the show bc of them, however in the crowd most ppl didn't know who they were and didn't care. They liked their performance but you could see just a few excited fans. You can see by the reactions to the jumps (which are usually just doubles) that the cast performs there that ppl don't come bc of the sport but bc of the show. They would clap as enthusiatically for a double than for a triple. So I am not surprised the ppl didn't care much for the winners at Art on Ice, most ppl there probably didn't even know them but came for an ice show.

Stephane performed often on Art on Ice so I don't think it had anything to do with that, probably didn't rather fit his schedule. Makes you wonder though if he would have won if he would have performed there. Because very comically all winners were also present at Art on Ice...🙃

Maybe Shoma didn't win because he would not attend Art on Ice at this point of the season 🤔😂 just kidding...

I am not against those ppl that won at all, even happy for Deanna Stellato Dudek, she deserves the world as a role model. Just being the only Pairs skater to even get anything is showing how much ISU cares for all disciplines. Also the nominations of most categories just show that ice dance and Pairs have no value.

(tw illness) i always knew who ateez was, listened to wonderland when it came out, but i didn’t become an atiny until summer 2023. i just graduated college and discovered i had a chronic illness during a regular check up that soon took over my life and made me really sick. it was terrifying, especially because they originally thought i might have a brain tumor due to the test results, and i was still job searching after graduating. i had to undergo some procedures and tests, and one of them left me bed ridden for a week. i was in so much pain, i couldn’t stand for more than 15 seconds, it was genuinely awful. bouncy had literally just came out, so i would lay in bed or the bath and prop my phone up and watch ateez fancams on repeat, and it was so nice to be able to focus on them and not have to think about how much pain i was in. i got sick to the point where i thought i would never be able to live independently without assistance and it was so so scary, but whenever i watched ateez reality shows and all of their old content, it brought me a lot of comfort. im kind of in remission now and i was able to move out this year, i still have trouble taking care of myself because im sick, but i feel like without ateez, i wouldn’t have been able to work up the courage to move out or even try to improve my life after my diagnosis. i even got to see them perform this summer! saying stuff like this feels a little bit silly because im not really the type of person to turn to celebrities (or even other people) for comfort, but i think ateez is really really special, and i feel like i owe all of my recent success to them, even if they have no idea who i am.

i don't think it's silly at all, a person or people you admire can actually give you a whole lot of strength and just... make enduring some things easier i think. thank you for sharing, and i'm wishing you all the best going forward!! <3

Making this has been a little difficult because I wanted to put THIS iconic outfit he had during Halazia era and I literally didn't find nothing. Literally, no pictures. So I said to myself "ok, fine, I'll do them by myself then. I DON'T NEED YOU, GOOGLE" and I took these screenshots from his fancam. Did I had fun while watching it? Yes. Did I survived when I took the screenshots? No. But I came alive immediately after because I needed to take a couple more of screenshots.

But wait maybe I talked too much about the collage, maybe it's time for the letter now.

Must admit, while I'm writing this I'm a little spoiling the anniversary letter I'm planning to do for Ateez next year but I think it's inevitable. One, if not the main reason why Ateez stood out to me since the beginning was their performances. It's inevitable that I must talk about how Seonghwa immediately caught my attention while I was watching him performing.

Now, if I should describe what I felt and I should choose just one word, I think that the perfect word is grace. Seonghwa is graceful. Every time he performs, even when the choreography is one of the most aggressive and energetic ones (and let's be honest, Ateez and energetic performances are literally a synonym at this point) there's always one moment where Seonghwa makes a graceful, delicate movement.

And if I should describe my emotions while I see these moments...well, I must admit that it's a little difficult. I surely feel the butterfly into my stomach, because I really love him when he does those movements but I also feel...peace? Yeah, I think peace it's probably one of the best words. It seems like he wants to give a relaxed vibe, something which calms you down and makes you feel better. Bliss can be another word to describe these feelings too but...I don't know, I highly prefer the Italian translation, "Estasi", it's much more better.

I can't believe that behind this graceful and marvellous dancer there's a natural born comedian tho. Really, he's a living crackhead, I can't watch a vlog of him without not expecting him doing something silly 🤣 Sometimes I wonder how such a graceful creature can have this comic side. It's his duality and I love him for this tho. He gave us so much iconic moments that will forever be remembered into Ateez's history.

I want to talk about a recent thing he started doing very recently too, which are his lives where he builds his Lego sets. Now, Lego sets aren't a big thing into my family because they're just too expensive (according to my father) so I couldn't have one for forever. I've always been fascinated by them tho. I spent the entirety of my childhood watching the Lego themed cartoons and just watching the sets' boxes every time we had the opportunity to go into a toy store. I really wanted to buy at least one set when I was little, really. So imagine my shook when he made a live and he put a Lego set box on the table. And I teared up a little when he started building the set. Maybe I projected myself too much while I was watching him but really, it was like seeing my little self trying to built the set I never got. Yeah, probably you got it, he woke up the little kid inside me and I'm glad that live gave me the motivation to buy a set one day (I just need the money. And a toy store. Or a Lego store 🥲).

Also little fun fact. After I finally learned who's who in Ateez, I had the conviction that Seonghwa was younger than Hongjoong. Imagine my shook when I discovered that he's actually the older one. And if you're wondering, no, I didn't check the birthday dates at first. My first days with Ateez clearly were some dark times that maybe should not be remembered. Anyway, now that you've understood that the clown emoji fits me perfectly, let's come back to Seonghwa.

My dear Seonghwa, I've come at the end of this letter and I really want to say thank you for giving me goosebumps everytime you perform. There are a very few artists who made me feel soo many emotions even in just a few seconds. I didn't say it yet, but I want to say thank you for taking care of Ateez and helping Hongjoong too. Our captain needs someone who can rely on and you're doing a wonderful job with it. And again, thank you for reviving my childhood somehow through your love for Legos.

1. how did you get into the show?

i heard about it back in like 2013 bc a yt channel I liked made references to it all the time but initially i was kinda scared to watch it bc I heard there was some offensive stuff and wasn't sure if that was my thing. then a few years later i was on a spring break trip w/ my high school and some ppl started talking about mac and dennis: manhunters for some reason?? and that made me so curious about it that I started pirating it a few days later lol

that being said... i didn't actually get into the show at that point. I got to about the first ep of season 2 and then just stopped bc even tho it was super funny I couldn't really connect with the characters and some of the satire felt a little too accurate to me. but from 2017 to like... may-ish of last year I watched a few eps here and there and made it to the beginning of season 3.

in october I was going thu a bit of an existential crisis (im mostly good now) and was looking for something funny to watch that hopefully wouldn’t suck up too much of my time (LMAOOO) and found it in my continue watching section on hulu and thought “this’ll be perfect bc i’ll probably just watch a season or so and then turn it off again”. yeah, that didn’t happen. (of course it probably helped that i’d watched i want you back earlier that year and realized i had a massive crush on charlie lol)

2. who’s your favorite character and why? (has your fav changed since you started watching the show?)

like i said in the last question it took me a while to pick a favorite but i literally caught one glimpse of charlie day’s freckles in i want you back and became obsessed with him & every character he’s ever played forever. aside from being super fucking adorable tho i genuinely think he’s the funniest character in the show. he has sooo many iconic moments and i love that he’s silly but also very capable like in charlie work :) also i really enjoy that he’s generally the “nice” one but he can also be very evil & feral at times. basically i like how complex he is lol. i just wanna wrap him in a blanket and feed him some spaghetti <3

3. what are your top 3 favorite episodes?

this is so fucking hard but here’s 3 off the top of my head:

the aluminum monster vs. fatty magoo : this is the one that made me finally get into the show! i loved that the characters were terrible to the point of absurdity. dennis putting on the dress was such an unforgettable moment & i feel like this ep is when they really found him as a character. charlie’s plot in this is also great, i love how he’ll end up in the most bizarre situation and just adapt to it (and the part where he's fantasizing about the drawing was... interesting to say the least lol). also any episode written by glenn & charlie is fucking iconic

the gang goes on family fight: this is just such a comfort ep tbh. family feud is always fun/funny and i love when the gang actually gets along. dennis’s freakout at the end was also super funny & relatable

the gang goes to hell part 2: after getting to know the characters for so many seasons, watching them almost die was strangely cathartic lol. it just felt like a love letter to the gang’s friendship, & it makes me think about how i’m so attached to these terrible fictional people. i could probably write a whole essay on this ep tbh. also the imaginary dinner scene is so funny to me, i love how much they get into it. 

also an honorable mention to charlie rules the world: charlie looks hot af in this episode (obviously) plus i love video game related eps in any show lol. It’s a fun ep to try to analyze charlie as a character, and i love that dennis just goes completely off the rails. 

4. name a song that reminds you of your favorite character

this is so hard bc all the songs on my sunny playlist are for ships/the whole gang… gonna go with leave me alone - fidlar bc of that one fancam plus i was listening to them earlier lol (ps. if anyone has any good charlie songs pls send them to me!!)

5. do you ship anything?

in no particular order: macdennis, charden, charmac, charmacden, deetress, chartemis, artemis/waitress (pretty sure i made this one up lol), charlie/scientist… i think that’s it? my fave are probably charmac, macdennis, charmacden, and deetress tho

hi hi <333 i am so sorry for the late reply 😭 i wanted to give you a proper response so i waited to answer this ask shdjsdhsj but i appreciate that you'd be interested in me rambling about hoshi more 🥺 i'm going to leave my rambling under the cut because it got kinda long lol

so i'm a very new carat sgdhsjhdsjk i became one during hot era!!! i remember watching the premiere for hot with my sister and really loving the song, which was the reason i started to slip into the diamond life <333 that night i listened to the album several times, and i was literally in love <333 and so i woke up the next morning and started watching some of the new content svt had put out that day, like the first performance of hot at a music show, etc. one the videos from that day was this one - a pixid video, this one being "find the maknae among the first borns (feat. hoshi of seventeen)."

tbh before i watched this video, i really had no idea who hoshi was SHDSHDJ because before i got into svt, my bias was woozi (since he was the only member i really knew). but i was curious about the video so i ended up watching it essentially knowing absolutely nothing about hoshi. AND THE PIXID VIDEO IS SO FUNNY. i love it so much. i remember laughing so hard at it sdhhjhshdjsk and after i watched that video, i got more curious about hoshi. so i started watching compilations about him!!! this one in particular ("hoshi's endless tiger agenda") is my absolute favorite. i've rewatched it so much lol because this video is how i discovered hoshi's tiger agenda. AND HES JUST SO CUTE I LOVE HIM SO MUCH <333

and ofc i watched spider as well!!!! i already knew the song prior to this, but i didn't really appreciate it until after i got into svt lol and now i love it lots <333 in my quest to learn more about hoshi, i also watched all of spider's behind the scenes content shdsdhsjk. it made me love hoshi even more 😭😭😭

and so at this point i was having a bias crisis LOL because i had assumed my bias would still be woozi once i got into svt - but clearly that wasn't the case LMAO and now hoshi is my belovedest <333 i should also note that all of this happened in the span of 3 days. hot came out on a friday, and by tuesday, i was a changed girl (aka a carat and a horangdan SHDSHDJ). and i just. love hoshi sm <333 he's such an integral part of svt - they wouldn't be where they are rn without him. he is one of the best dancers in kpop (the best in my heart tbh) and he is so sweet and kind and caring and he's a great person to the rest of the members.

and honestly like. i love my other biases but if i had to pick between my ults (who are jihyo from twice, yujin from ive, and kazuha from le sserafim respectively), i'd pick hoshi. idk why. i love my other ults so much for their own reasons but hoshi,,,,,,,,, atm he just makes me super happy sghdjhsdjks like i was watching his hot fancams yesterday and was absolutely in awe of him. maybe the reason i would pick him has to do with the fact that he's the only male idol i ult lol. but yeah. he means the world to me <333 i'm so so so glad i discovered svt and discovered hoshi, because honestly idk what i would've done if i hadn't lol.
