Anyway, I love this question! I'm gonna write a little bit about our three main lads. This whole answer was supposed to be SFW but then I reached aegon and well... he's Aegon. So needless to say, I've had to put a cut in

JACAERYS:

So the first thing to note about Jace is how good his memory is? He always remembers all the things you tell him. He takes careful note of the things you like and the things you don't, and also he learns how you act when you're upset and what can upset you.

So he will notice almost immediately when you're feeling down and he will always try to help. Jace just wants you to be happy and healthy and so he will literally drop whatever it is that he's doing to try and help you. And if someone else needs him to be doing something else, he will distracted the entire time because he can't stop thinking about you and about what he can do to try and help you.

His go to method is to bring you your favourite flowers or wine or treats or whatever. If there's anything you have mentioned you really like in the past few weeks then he'll make sure to get that as well. He also just won't leave your side? Sure you can be in a bad mood and sulk all day if you want, but you certainly can't do that alone he won't let you.

AEMOND:

So I actually think realising you're feeling down would be genuinely distressing for Aemond? Especially if it's something he has absolutely no control of. He has no idea what to do, no idea how to make this better. His entire being is centred around making you happy and pleasing you and now you're upset and he feels like he failed. Even if whatever is upsetting you has absolutely nothing to do with him and can't be changed, he'll still feel like a failure.

He usually ends up asking you what you need. He would do whatever you want to make this better. No request would be too big. He would make anything work to make you happier. And you do have to actually give him something to do because if you don't he will be paralysed and not know what to do.

Needless to say, if he thinks there's even the smallest chance of someone having caused your distress then that person's days are numbered.

AEGON:

The moment Aegon realises you arent as happy as you usually are, he immediately asks you who needs to die. You always just roll your eyes and make him promise he won't set the kings guard on anyone, but he still might do it anyway.

When you inform him that no, he can't just murder every person to mildly inconvenience you, he sighs and then proceeds to promptly ask you if he can go down on you. Aegon's horny little gremlin mind literally goes, "Oh I can't kill someone? Fine, can I eat you out?"

Aegon will try his best to help in his own chaotic little way. Of course he will ask you what's wrong and listen to you, but to be honest he's one of the worst people to vent to. You'll say someone is making your life difficult and aegon is just like 'oh I'll have them killed' like no, no aegon don't do that.

Oh and also, he will cancel his appearances that day without a second thought if you're distressed. He could not care less about all the lords and ladies who travelled far and wide to see him, his pretty wife is upset so obviously the entire kingdom must come to a standstill until you feel better.

How do they behave when they are drunk? | Modern Headcanons

who missed the modern headcanons? cause I do!

Unfortunately, alcohol entered Aegon's life early. He knew it wasn't healthy or correct, but fuck it, he loved it when everything got slow and funny.

He obviously started tasting his friends' cheap beer, then stealing some expensive bottles of Whisky from his father without him noticing.

Obviously he had no distinction as to what to drink and accepted from the most slutty beers to a good Jack Daniels.

He also imposed no limits on himself and his only mission was to escape from sobriety — and if you think there is a lack of filters on Aegon it’s because you have never seen him drunk, the man is totally chaotic.

He speaks loudly, touches people excessively, is mortally funny and absurdly honest. Aegon is a threshold between the joy of the party and the most annoying person possible and he loves how chaotic it can be.

You will definitely love being held and guided home by your friends and having this time of attention for yourself, in addition to encouraging them to drink as much as he does.

Aegon is the guy who would bet how much you can drink against him and never expect him to lose, the son of a bitch is an alcohol consumption machine.

He is extremely sly and in need of attention when he has a hangover, almost like a child begging for a lap.

Little Jace only started to consume alcohol after entering college. He was never much of a drinker, especially for witnessing certain situations that his family members caused under the alcoholic effect.

But things were happening and when he realized he had a glass of cheap beer in his hand and it was fucking disgusting, but he didn't give up, at least once he needed to feel what it was like to get really drunk and opted for stronger options.

Oh boy, he was never so happy until that moment.

Jace is very cheerful and smiling when alcohol takes effect, literally a golden retrivier distributing hugs and nods to anyone and he LOVES the feeling of drunkenness, he gets extremely light and relaxed.

Usually he tended to control himself to not get past the point, he didn't want to cause a scene or put himself at risk, but once specifically he didn't care about it and accepted all the shots his friends gave him...

It was complete chaos and he had to come back loaded after vomiting on the floor of the bar (and locking himself in the bathroom and hugging the owner of the establishment).

He promised himself that he wouldn’t exceed the limit again, mainly because of the annoying nausea and tiredness of the next day.

He would definitely be lying on the bed or on the couch all day until his energies came back.

Being a selective person in his tastes it’s quite easy to catalog what Aemond drinks routinely, such as wine, cognac and bourbon, especially a good wine to relax and I add sparkling wines in celebrations. Beer was never an option, he hated that shit.

Still, he didn’t use to go past the point and rarely tended to get drunk, especially in public or in front of his family, just taking advantage of the threshold between sobriety and the beginning of the alcoholic effect.

However, there were moments when he gave himself to alcohol and it’s varied forms, such as tequila shots and cheaper vodkas.

But perhaps to his discouragement, Aemond was a silent and almost grumpy drunk, even more brutally sincere than in his sober state and much more carefree about swearing. In fact, he is almost a machine for swearing when he is drunk, especially if provoked.

He is also more self-confident in exposing his achievements and intelligence, a little arrogant too and considerably more seductive than usual.

In addition, Aemond is zero willing to receive help when he hears that he is too drunk to go alone somewhere — when someone suggests guiding him out of the bar he simply ignores and ends up tipping on the door and stumbling on a chair, and he mortally hates that someone holds him as an incapable.

If you find him grumpy while he's drunk, don't want to see him with a hangover, I swear, he gets impossible.

A bit of a serious question and maybe a controversial opinion. I've liked jacegan ever since I read the books. I've always thought there's a lovely strong, mutual connection between them, regardless of whether you see romantic or sexual overtones. 

And of course I was waiting for hotd to show that. And unfortunately got crumbs. But let's get to the main point. What I didn't realize when there were only books and not much has changed since the series came out. It's Jace and Baela. These two as a couple never interested me in the book or the show. And given the current agendas, fans of the Jace/Baela pairing are especially "aggressive". Because if you're a jacegan fan, you're automatically a racist and misigonist. But.... I didn't like her when she was a white canon Targaryen. I have no hatred or anything like that. The character just didn't hook me, nor did their connection to Jace. On the show, I'm sorry, Baela barely has a chance to develop as a character in season 1. Season 2 has some cool moments with her, but she's still more of an appendix to Rhaenyra and Jace. And yes, I'm sorry that such a character is neglected, as well as many other interesting characters, but given the format of the show and the number of episodes, they have to sacrifice something (the jacegan line is almost completely cut). And back to the serialized Baela and Jace. Their pairing is more of a favorable union for me. There's no spark, no love, no passion. They literally haven't seen each other in years since Rhaenys took her away. Then they met and were unexpectedly announced to be engaged. And there was a shaky situation all around. There was no room for any romance. Then the diplomatic mission, Luke dies and the whole of season 2 Jace is busy with anything but Baela. She's the one who's more of a comforter. And the rare "cute" moments are improvised by the actors who are trying to create/show some kind of relationship in place of the writers, because they are engaged. But it doesn't help, imho, for me personally. I just see two early matured people who are in a stressful situation. They support each other as best they can. I'm sure their marriage would be strong, secure because they are more like friends/family than lovers. And that is my main complaint. I'm sorry, but even in Jace and Cregan's 3 minute scene, there is more chemistry through looks than in the entire time Jace and Baela interacted. Of course that's still a matter of taste. But then again, why would anyone allow themselves to criticize another person for their tastes and hobbies? Why is it that if I'm not interested in Jace and Baela's pairing, I'm immediately misogynistic and racist, and don't support the characters' geth, but cling to white men in homosexual relationships. Like...what do you want? I don't want to be a hypocrite. I just don't care for Baela's character and her relationship with Jace in either the books or the show. That's it. 

Jace and Kregan's relationship is much more interesting, colorful, tragic and carries more meaning and love. I won't describe it in detail, because there are some great methinks on the blog. And that's it.

Wow...uh... I sincerely hope you feel better getting that off your chest, anon. Thankfully, I've never interacted with people who react negatively to my jacegan posts or fics. I'm sorry you've had that experience and thank you for taking the time and effort to share it with me. If you encounter people like that, you should really block them and not allow them access into your mental space.

If your question was what I feel about jacaela, then I don't really feel strongly about it either way? I was also neutral to jacegan until I started writing about it, to be fair. I mainly got into it because I wanted to explore the idea of Sara Snow being Jace and/or Cregan and relate that to masks, identity, and performance of masculinity/femininity/gender.

I'm willing to bet if I start a jacaela project, I'd see the merits of that ship, too. I probably won't write about show!Baela though, because she doesn't have much of a personality and seems to be more loyal to Rhaenyra than Jace? She only ever speaks for Rhaenyra's interests and never Jace's. Honestly, her one scene with Rhaenyra made me think she's more enamored with the mom than the son. When Jace was having valid issues about his legitimacy, Baela was quick to dismiss him as "pouting" even though both their lives and positions rely on the strength of his claim to the throne. It was honestly baffling. If I was gonna write for show!Baela, I'd ship her with Rhaenyra before Jace — makes a lot more sense with the text.

In the book, Baela was eager to get married to Jace and had some really compelling tension with him. Him delaying their wedding after going north? Really juicy stuff. Baela is only noted as getting more promiscuous after Jace's death (and after she was left alone in Dragonstone) — so another writer (who isn't me) could explore the conflicting emotions of feeling free of the shackles of arranged marriage while also grieving a future that Baela very likely once dreamed of. There's also the incest angle, the fact that Rhaenyra and Daemon's marriage could have only happened if the parent they both loved died, how Baela doesn't want to act like a lady/princess but Jace desperately wants to be seen as a lord/prince — lots of places a competent writer can take it for sure. It can be a great friends-to-lovers, shared trauma/mutual healing, marriage-of-convenience-turned-real kind of thing. Baela as a tsundere, Jace as an angsty anime protag.

I don't think one ship is more meaningful or loving than the other — it really depends on what you're looking for and who's writing. For now, I'm full throttle manning my current ship and I've already made so many posts about why. I'd like to think I do a good job exploring the potential of jacegan, and I am fully aware it is a ship made of crumbs, but that's the fun of it. Embrace that it's a hidden gem that you unearthed! Embrace the tinfoil.

You know something really horrible? In the show, Alicent is unintentionally the reason Aemond lost his eye.

Now hear me out. After the initial scuffle with the kids, Aemond emerges gripping Luke by the neck, holding a rock above him, before threatening to kill them in dragon fire, calling them bastards. It isn’t until Aemond mocks Luke for not knowing of his parentage and refers to Jace as “Lord Strong” that the knife comes out. We can talk about hypotheticals all we want, and how Jace could’ve pulled the knife out later, but the fact of what we’re shown is that it’s pulled out after Aemond threatens both of the boys with very dangerous claims, regardless of their truth.

When all the children are explaining what happened, the one telling that gets the largest reaction is the bastard one. Because it is a serious claim, and if not true, to say such things is high treason. And we all know how Viserys feels on the matter. We see Alicent visibly react when Jace says that’s what Aemond did. Almost as if she’s surprised, but also like she can’t believe this is the result of her son saying something true. She tries to deflect it, but Viserys doesn’t have it. In that moment, when Aemond is being questioned by Viserys about who spoke of these lies,  Aemond looks right at Alicent. For a noticeable period of time. So much so that every person in that room turns to look at her. It’s at that moment where Alicent realizes truly how much Viserys doesn’t care about the truth of the bastard claims. That he considers it treason, a terrible insult. She’s spread it around, talked about it to anyone who would listen to her, Cole or her children, and now because of her words, her son has been damaged beyond repair. 

Aemond could’ve revealed it was Alicent who told him these things, but he doesn’t. While it’s enough for Viserys, it isn’t for everyone else. Alicent knows this, and seeing Aemond defend her, even after her words led to this very fate, makes her reflect on her actions. It’s why she’s in her almost daze like state for the remainder of the episode, why she changes to become so pious. It doesn’t help that Otto literally tells her that Vhagar was worth a hundred of Aemond’s eyes. She sees this situation as her fault and her failure, and she’s unfortunately correct. The adults really failed to prevent this (let’s just choose to ignore Criston was supposed to be on evening watch and it was Westerling to find them). Overall it’s just an ugly situation.

so like. with jace and j2, because jace is in a horror movie vs. j2 who is in a bodice ripper. jace is constantly saying creepy ominous shit about how porter doesnt really care about j2 and like, vaguely implying that porter's gonna kill him the same way he killed jace. and j2 is like. not heeding these warnings at all. j2 is able to put jace in the category of a bodice ripper heroine's well-meaning yet extremely wrong friend who is telling her to NOT follow her heart and instead settle for safety and comfort. and to jace, j2's unwavering, almost naive love of porter makes him read as the ditzy cheerleader who dies first in a slasher.

and j2 and j3 have a similar level of conflict bc j3 is like rosencrantz from rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead. he's a bit character who's become aware that he's a bit character and is trying to eke out any semblance of joy and meaning with his small role in life. and j2 is ophelia, and he can't save j2 from his tragic fate, he can't save anyone, not even himself. meanwhile to j2 (bodice ripper) j3 is literally a side character who's like, technically important, but come on. he's not worried about j3, why would he bother? j3 is like the legislative assembly in all of those romance novels about royalty. taxation rates? public infrastructure? foreign policy??? who fucking cares about all of that. porter got j2 flowers, thats whats REALLy important.

and jace and j3 are like. theyre both genre-aware. they both know how terrible things are. but jace is surviving the horror movie (or at least dying last) and j3's suffering and death is a foregone conclusion that gets ramped over on the way to the main storyline. and j3 is somehow both thankful he doesnt have that spotlight on him but also eternally vying for it and trying to prove himself worthy of it.

j4 and jace are in SEVERE conflict because j4 is like "you know the torment nexus wouldnt exist if it wasnt for you, right? you realize it's your fault we're all stuck like this?" because she's the audience in the horror movie thats like "why the fuck did you idiots go into the woods where the serial killer's cabin is??" and jace is like "yes but i'm winning the torment nexus, or if i don't win, at least all of you lose" which j4 views as so insanely petty and cruel that she honestly doesnt even want to waste her breath on it

but i think the worst conflict is j4 and j2 because j4 is like. j2. you do not need or want a booktok boyfriend. you DO NOT. that is BAD. porter is BAD. and j2 is like "you dont get him like i do" and is convinced j4 is just jealous or bitter that she can't get porter's attention like he can. j2 was written by a lonely, angry man whose wish fulfillment fantasy is that a guy like j2 might be charmed by him and date him (porter).

lastly j3 and j4... i cant even look directly at this. j4 sees how lovely and important j3 is when even the text itself doesnt. j3 is the only one able to break the fourth wall and see j4. despite everything, they found each other. oh god theyre in love...

I physically cringe at how toxic some fans are becoming.

Canonically Rhaenyra loved all her children, Jace would have been a great king, Luke and Joffrey's deaths are tragedies Like the disappearance/supposed death of Visenys and Aegon loved his older brothers, so where did this brutal division come from where one side calls the older ones irrelevant and useless bastards and the other says Aegon and Visenys weren't just as loved as the three first brothers.

I find it worrying that for the first one they are recycled TG comments (I can only assume these people are A/V fans and not Rhaenyra fans if they are regurgitating this mentality) and the seconds are the fault of the same problem that the VB and the dragon twins already suffered, that of the change in ages, time jumps and poor management of time on screen translates into poor development of family dynamics.

Also, even in the show this whole argument about who Rhaenyra loves more, Harwin's or Daemon's children is super stupid because you can argue either way due to circumstantial evidence.

She loves Daemon's people more because they are children of the love of her life! She loves Harwin more because he's not a pedophile!She loves Luke more because she called him her "sweet boy" (at one point he was worried and she comforted him)! She loves Daemon's children less because she barely kissed them (we ignore that she takes the time to go play with them*)!!

Or let's make the opposite argument!! Lucerys (from Harwin) and Visenya (from Daemon) aren't enough to start a war, so I imagine she doesn't care about either of them 😳

This is all stupid and ignores both the source material and the show's writing problems, and Rhaenyra (either Rhaenyra) would be furious and ashamed that anyone make these kinds of arguments against her children.

(Now, if anyone wants to talk about Rhaenyra treating the dragon twins less like her daughters or her husband's daughters and more like one of her servants, yeah, I have no arguments against the way They destroyed those relationships because they did not " nuanced " it, they simply eliminated it)

*I have only seen intolerance from one of these sides and I am genuinely curious what it looks like in these people's heads to show that Rhaenyra "does" care about Aegon and Visenys Let it not be something she already did and just needed to be expanded upon because it appears that they mean is that they have to show Rhaenyra caring MORE about them than her other three children. Rhaenyra is supposed to hold Aegon and say "oh, my beloved Valyrian-looking son that I can love with all my heart." ?

I believe the writing for the show--how they have her literally do almost nothing for her kids after Luke dies--encourages and flamed the fires for these already existing ideas for people to be so brave about it. I myself haven't seen some myself and I think that has to do with good filtering, but I don't deny they exist. Truthfully, such ideas have existed a very long time in the fandom and I hate them.

The video begins with the members of VARSITY, minus Diaz, holding a different type of candy, either in a bowl or a bag.

"This is VARSITY, and we're making a candy salad while we trauma dump!" Diaz can be heard saying off camera. "Who wants to go first?"

The video cuts to a closer shot of Jace, obviously the first one to go.

"My name is Jace, I brought Sour Patch Kids, and when I was twelve, my parents disowned me for wanting to become an idol," he says, dumping his candy into a large bowl. "Who cares about them though, I got adopted into a better family."

"Damn, that sucks," Kazuya can be heard saying, followed by Silas and Kenji's loud laughter.

The video then cuts to Fabian, who smiles brightly as he holds up his small bowl of candy.

"Hi, I'm Fabian, I brought Smarties, and my parents don't love me!" he says, forcing a cheerful tone as he dumps the Smarties into the bowl.

Jace is seen in the background, patting the Fabian's back as he adds, "They never paid attention to me, but honestly, what's new about that?"

"Be honest, who here actually has loving parents?" Taehyung asks.

The video pans to him and he hums, holding up a big bag of Skittles.

"I'm Kim Taehyung, not the BTS one, I brought Skittles, and when I was eleven, I saw my older brother almost die in a fight because he was fighting all of my bullies at once."

"All of them?" Kazuya asks. Taehyung nods and pours the Skittles into the bowl before saying, "They were quite a few and had the brass rings. They broke quite a few bones and sent him to the emergency room."

There's a moment of silence before Diaz says, "Next!"

The video now cuts to Jisu, who waves hIs bag of candy.

"I'm Jeon Jisu, I brought M&M's, and I was groomed by my dance teacher a few years before I joined Starborn," he says, pouring the chocolate candies. Hyunsu visibly looks slightly uncomfortable by his younger brother's words, but before he can open his mouth, Jisu says, "Hyunsu, I promise, I'm fine talking about it."

Hyunsu nods, though still looking slightly uncomfortable, and looks at the camera, signalling his turn.

"Hi, I'm Hyunsu, I brought gummy worms, and when I was eight my mom died and we had to deal with bullying without anyone's help," he says. "I was also outed by a so-called friend of mine who took my diary, took pictures of it, and posted it all over social media."

"What's their name," Kazuya and Silas say in unison. Hyunsu shakes his head in response.

"It doesn't matter. Besides, he's a nobody now!"

The mood lightens up somewhat, and everyone shares a laugh before the video cuts to Kazuya.

"I'm Kaz, I brought Japanese wagashi, and my parents cared more about their failing restaurant than they did about their kids," he says simply, expressionless as he dumps the candies into the salad. "Not that they completely neglected us, they just got more busy with the restaurant and I guess it got to their heads."

The video then cuts to Kenji, who holds up his own bag of candy.

"I'm Kenji, I also brought wagashi, and from the age of six, my uncle would sexually assault me," he says, pouring half the candies into the salad.

"I'm sorry, since you were how old?!" Silas asks off camera.

"He started to do it on my sixth birthday," Kenji says simply.

"Dude. . . what the hell," is all Fabian says after a long, awkward moment of silence.

"It's fine, I'm working on it!"

"Yeah, by not talking about it and bottling it up until literally now," Kazuya says.

"I've literally been seeing a fucking therapist since last year, 'Zuya."

The video now cuts to Silas, who is in the process of tying his hair into a small ponytail.

"Dude, I'm not ready yet!" he laughs, quickly tightening his ponytail before grabbing his bowl of candy.

"I'm Silas, I brought Hershey kisses, and when I was fifteen, my dad died in a car wreck while taking me home from an EXO concert," he says, shaking the bowl and emptying it into the salad. "Oh! I also got cheated on by, like, almost every single romantic partner I ever had. They always leave me for my friends, don't know why."

"Better dick game probably," Hyunsu teases lightly, poking his shoulder.

"How is that traumatic?" Diaz asks. Silas looks up at him, an unimpressed look on his face.

"You try falling in love only to walk in on your significant other fucking your best friend, see how you come out of that experience."

It's silent and almost tense before Jisu is heard saying, "Just kiss already."

The silence shatters, and everyone laughs, the mood now lightening at Jisu's words.

The video cuts to Kenji again who dumps the rest of his candies into the salad as he says, "I'm Kenji again, and my grandparents blamed me for my mom's death and my uncle's abuse."

Everyone falls silent, not knowing what to say at this bit of information.

"Thank you for sharing that with us," Diaz finally says softly. "It must've been hard." 

"Well, yeah, I was just a kid when it started and I had no idea what was going on," Kenji says, waving his hand. "I just knew I hated it." 

"Fuck your uncle, all our homies hate your uncle," Fabian says, hugging Kenji's side. The others are seen and heard voice their agreements, making Kenji smile slightly. 

"Thanks, guys."

The video cuts to Minsu, who holds up a bag of candy.

"I'm Minsu, I brought lollipops, and I was kidnapped as a baby," he nearly laughs, dropping the lollipops one by one into the salad. Kazuya snatches one, making him pout. "Hyung!"

"What? I'm living up to the Kazupop name," Kazuya teases as he sticks the lollipop in his mouth.

Minsu pouts but he gets over it quickly, instead turning to Taehyung who asks, "Was this, like, recent news to you?" 

Minsu nods. "Yeah, I just found out. Apparently my. . . adoptive parents were really desperate for a baby, and when they saw that my real parents had triplets, they just took one from the hospital." 

"Well, shit." 

Minsu laughs and turns to the camera, smiling. "Your turn, Diaz hyung!"

The video now cuts to the last member, and Diaz smiles slightly at the camera, holding up his bag of candy.

"I'm Diaz, I brought Jolly Ranchers, and when I revealed my sexuality and relationship, I was told to kill myself so much that I actually considered it," he says, dumping the candies into the salad. Jace is seen patting his back, as Jisu hugs him. "Kinda glad I didn't, but it was not a great time."

"We love you, Diaz!" Fabian says off camera, making the leader smile and reply with, "I love you guys too."

There's a moment of comforting silence as the rest of the group slowly joins the hug. They all comfort each other, showing off their bond.

"Does anyone want to share more, or are we done for now?"

"Definitely done."

The video then cuts to all ten of the members enjoying the candy salad, some sitting on the couch of their living room dorm while the rest are on the floor. All ten seem to be watching something on the television before their manager says off camera, "The camera's still on."

Hyunsu gets up and runs to the camera, taking it and blowing a kiss before ending the video.

all right. look. we all know i have religious trauma. and so a Very large part of me wants to go back to make me an instrument (the v distorted reality fucked up timescape flashback experience jace has post-death and/or post-shatterstar). and i probably will if anyone else wants to read it lol. but!

as far as something i haven't written yet but have just been noodling on. i'm v v curious about what an amnesia fic would entail for any combo of zarajaceporter (or if i'm gonna janelle-bait then. any clone combo too). like we've done a lot of tropes so far and i am in Absolute Undying Love with every single one of them. but unless i've missed it i think it would be v v fun (and also evil) of me to write either porter or jace losing their memories post-fhjy finale. the whole coming back wrong thing, but like. coming back wrong 2: electric boogaloo. oops no memories of the One Meaningful Event that tied us together. of the years of devotion and manipulation and salvific fantasies and. well. scorching hot sex.

idk who it would be worse for in which role, but here's some initial thoughts below.

if it's porter who comes back w oops no memories. then jace is all alone w his trauma (unless zara's there but even then. she wasn't ensared by porter like jace was). like. he's carrying the weight of knowing porter, knowing porter-rage-god, and knowing this. not shell bc it's still v much porter. but it's somehow not the same porter as before bc this one knows something is missing. and lives with a hollowness inside him that makes him so, so fucking angry (at ankarna, funnily enough. some things never change). and he's so deeply in love with jace all over again, but jace has decided that This Time he won't fall into bed/love w porter again.

if it's jace, though. ohhhh boy. i almost feel ashamed of how brutally naive he would be all over again. if you're a jaceclone enjoyer, think j2's whole deal. like. do we watch him fall for porter all over again? does this jace inherently distrust porter for some reason unknown to him? does this jace know why porter looks at jace like porter's expecting jace to stab him or mind sliver him at any moment? does this jace even care? like, idk, it might actually be good in a twisted kind of way, because porter gets a do over and jace doesn't have to have literally been consumed and used up by a rage monster. hmmm. i don't think jace is angry, though. i think he's secretly relieved, because context clues and the haunted look in porter's eyes are plenty. he doesn't need to remember (bc in my heart and my headcanons jace is at his core a coward. not in a really derogatory way, just in a. that man has no spine. only under the Most Extreme circumstance will he stand up to someone.)

anyways tl;dr: amnesia fic featuring so, so much pining, theorizing about what it means to come back wrong but at least you came back, and the question of whether it's better to remember or not remember the years of your life when your mind and body were not your own. oops now we're into my trauma personally so im gonna end it here. hope this entertains! <3

The credits sequence hasn't changed, as far as I can tell.

Driftmark. Corlys limping to the Driftwood Throne. He's weeping over the death of his wife. As far as he knows, he's lost everyone now -- both of his children and his wife. (It's even money whether the writers even remember that Laenor is still alive.)

There's a fucking famine and all the Greens care about is parading Meleys' head through the streets. Guys, reminding the people that dragons CAN BE KILLED probably isn't the wisest thing to do right now. How many of them have lost livestock to feed the dragons' stomachs?

The Targaryen family literally spent YEARS convincing the people of Westeros that being dragonriders made them superior, now you're showing them that a dragon is really just a giant, flying horse. This is going to bite you in the ass so damn hard very soon.

"It's just meat." EXACTLY!

If Rhaenys' body is on that wagon, they need to have the Silent Sisters escort it to Driftmark, it's the only decent thing to do.

Aemond is still so damn pretty.

To be fucking honest, I don't know if that's Rhaenys' corpse or Aegon II's almost-corpse in that box. I wouldn't put it past Cole to have Aegon II transported in a way that no one can see how mangled he is.

So it was Aegon. He must be in a coma to have not made a sound this entire time. As fucked up as he is, he still didn't deserve this.

I don't like Jeyne. I can understand her rage but I don't know, she's aiming it at the wrong target. Please tell me her offering her sympathy was not how Rhaena found out Rhaenys is dead.

"There is more than one way to fight a war." Let's get the propaganda machine churning! Again, I like Mysaria, but I don't know if Rhaenyra (or anyone) can trust her.

Rhaenyra and Baela sharing memories of Rhaenys, this is what this episode needed.

Daemon's dreaming again but is that Aemma, Viserys' first wife?! Did Daemon have an affair with his sister-in-law or is he just straight tripping right now? At this point, we've seen every woman in his life in these dreams except for Rhea, his first wife. Blood on his hands again.

"My favorite son"? Is she supposed to be his mom Alyssa now? Daemon, your head is a fascinating place, I swear. You need to get out of Harrenhal with whatever sanity you have left.

Daemon's chair is as broken as his psyche.

on the one hand i love a situation in which all the clones are in LSOP together bc i think its incredibly funny if jace creates the torment nexus and is like. Wow i didn't think i would be reaping what i sowed with the torment nexus!!! On the other hand i am like. Is there a unique Luxury Sex Object Prison of their choosing? Like. To be fair there is a part of Porter that does like Bluejay on his own terms, not just an extension of Jace and. I mean. A god can have anything he wants, right? Maybe he would want to keep J2 in LSOP

J2 genuinely does like feeling useful so like i could see him enjoying doing research for sure and. i do think more importantly i think he wants a sense of belonging so like ultimately if that place he belongs is in luxury sex object prison it's like ok! The whole like This is Dollhouse but Good Actually is so funny and honestly real b/c like i do think any marginal discomfort and dissatisfaction J2 would get out of this deal is wayyyy less in comparison to how any of the other jaces would feel he's easily the one that's like we got everything we wanted! out of this. He would be pretty content i think to be Porter's housewife. Like yes you get to come home to me at the end of the day and i'll always be dolled up for you and ready and give you a kiss and a martini and tell you how hard you work as the god of conquest! he’s almost died three times now, twice for jace

Alec constantly gets betrayed and lied to from jace

he never gets to process his feelings because you know jace and clary will make it about them and create problems for Alec

it does get better for Alec but from season one to early season two it’s fucking hell for Alec!!!!!!!!!

Alec never feels good enough and Maryse practically shuns him (also love when Alec stands up for himself)

and Robert and Maryse have been making Alec feel like shit forever

he’s had to deal with his upcoming problems with Magnus

fun note: i saw someone who knew either from the books or from leaks who died in the episode but described them as "the most annoying character in the show" and i loved that because depending on who you ask that couldve been literally anyone

aemond. aemond. what a character. ewan really squeezed his three milliseconds of screentime this season to provide a buildup for what happened today. aemond's inner emotional wound that he's carried all his life is so strong that he chose to take his revenge rather than seize an easy bloodless victory for his team. aegon's intervention even played in their favor, since meleys locked into battle with sunfyre was the easiest of targets for a melee attack. but he straight up chose to burn aegon, and later was seen trying to finish the job? hundreds if not thousands died needlessly, and among the ones that could have easily died as well was cole, who raised aemond like a father and who trusted him blindly with his life and with the life of his men. and for what? i can imagine this is going to be a divisive topic because i think this isn't how it goes in the books but personally i see it as a logical development of what we've seen of show!aemond so far. he's a deeply wounded individual who cannot see past his wound and an embodiment of what the targaryens are (and of the pain and damage that they cause to everyone who has the misfortune to interact). even in a gray morality context such as the one in this show, i feel that aemond earns the title of villain from me because he fights only for himself and does not care even for the lives of those who have been actively kind and loving to him

and i know a lot of people will likely disagree with that. personally i think in a show like this where all the big players in the war have done terrible things it is quite the fun introspection tool to see who we may consider the "worst" of them all and why. for me i think that the way that aemond toyed with the lives of hundreds today for his own personal gain is what takes the cake. i think the only other main character off the top of my head for whom "nothing is sacred" in pursuit of personal gain would be larys and i'm not sure what that says about the show's relationship to depictions of disability but that's a topic for another day. what i am trying to say is that it is fun to see what each fan considers the "worst sin" committed in a show that is basically a sin feast. hypocrisy? being a bad mother? being a bad father? kinslaying? we each feel our heart and our own wounds stir at ones and not others, i believe

daemon in harrenhall continues to be an A+ storyline, alys rivers is fantastic and i loved the little interaction between aegon and larys where aegon said "dude? you don't care? it's your fucking castle!!" and larys replied uhhhh yeah but it's haunted milord. i eat that shit up i love that kind of fantasy storyline. cursed castles, witches, battling your own mind, i eat it up. i loved one little shot where we could see daemon's bloodied hands from where the camera was but it disappeared as he turned his hands. i know he'll be okay but i just love descent into madness storylines

i loved jace and baela in the council btw they are so adorable if the shows turns them into bad parents or evil rulers i am going to jump off a cliff you cannot grow attached to any innocent kid / young adult on this show fr but i do think those two have a heart of gold and if not then i guess i will eat my words

so much more to say but its almost 6am i hope everyone enjoyed the episode i know i did except for all the scenes where i felt like there was no point to go on living. the fact that criston chose to hang out with gwayne despite being one of the few people he doesn't closely know in the entire fucking army has my approval and i hope gwayne didn't die so they can eventually kiss that's all

I wanted to see your opinion on CTF! Jace spending his heats just snuggled by Vermax? Since after his presentation Vermax was a bit grumpy that his rider wasn’t near him, do you think that Jace’s next heat will also be unexpected and instead of going back to his room/his parents’ room cause it just reminds him of all the pain he had to endure previously, he would instead just be with Vermax? I could imagine Vermax just draping his wings on Jace and stay laying next to him for the entire week, growling and almost burning anyone that tries to come near.

so i already know what's gonna happen during jace's next heat and i can tell you he won't be spending it with vermax(🤭) but ahhh the image you've painted is so adorable and i could def see it happening and more than once too. vermax is a very possessive+protective bby, he doesn't play abt his rider🐲🔥

Okay, it's Easter season and I'm bored at home so here it goes.

Modern hotd spring cleaning/easter preparation headcanons.

(For the sake of this, let's just say that Westeros has some form of an Easter equivalent idk)

* Rhaeneyra and Alicent work out a chore chart for the rest of the family. It was a grueling process. There was screaming, there was crying, there was flirting. But somehow it's done. They can just relax and supervise it all. Right?

* Viserys doesn't actually contribute to making anything happen, but he does keep coming up with new ideas to improve the festivities. Everyone tries their best to humor him and make it happen. But gods damn it, why couldn't he mention any of this when they were making the chore chart?????

* Jace, Luke, Baela and Rhaena do a bit of both the cooking and the cleaning. The issue is, that Aemond has also been trusted with that amount of responsibility and most of the time they have to flee the room the second he shows up.

* Aemond is a terror. He does what he was supposed to do and more. He doesn't care if it's someone else's assigned job, he will literally take the broom/sponge/utensil out of their hands because "they're doing it wrong". Anyone who tries to help him regrets it very quickly. He will make people cry if they use the wrong frying pan.

* Helaena is making decorations with Joffrey's help. Rhaena joins in after deciding that she can't deal with Aemond interrupting her every five minutes. Alicent gave Helaena specific patterns because her own were too "out there". The other two are not having it and quickly decide to stick with Helaena's designs because they're just much cooler.

* All Aegon was supposed to do was take the trash out. He did not do it.

* Baela and Jace do the baking. It's fun, it's sweet. They barricaded the door with a chair so Alicent can't show up and complain about the kind of flour they're using. They put music on so they can't hear her telling them to open the door. They decide to try a recipe from Winterfell and have to facetime Cregan for help.

* Luke is calling the entire guest list to confirm if they're still coming. He tells Larys the whole holiday has been cancelled. He show up anyway. Borros forgot the address and somehow it's all Luke's fault.

* Aemond rage vacuums. The moment he enters the room and plugs the vacuum in, everyone there is trapped. If anyone tries to put their feet on the floor they will get attacked, immediately. .

* What does Daemon do? Not a damn thing. He is supposed to contribute, but he refuses to listen to Alicent, just in general. However he does know that it still needs to get done so he keeps finding Jace and saying he has "a task of the upmost importance, that only he can do". Jace is actively avoiding him at this point.

* Someone was supposed to pick up Daeron from the train station. They never did. Daeron had to walk for almost two hours. The second he steps through the door Daemon gives him "a task of the upmost importance" - it's walking the dogs.

*Otto tries very hard to talk Viserys out of getting a live band last minute. Rhaena and Daeron make a playlist for the event. Otto hates it but does not understand technology enough to do anything about it.

* Criston does all the last minute shopping. He doesn't care that the stores are closed, Alicent needs that spinach and he will get it. He will make the store let him in. He will call the manager.

* Alicent almost faints when she sees the decorations. Rhaenyra offers to help Haelena apply to art schools.

* The wine doesn't mach the food because Aegon drank it all.

* Daeron can eat maybe three things on the table because nobody remembered his dietary restrictions.

* Daemon got a spork instead of normal cutlery. He still threatens Otto with it.

* Rhaenys and Corlys show up, find out what food was made by their grandkids, then complain about the rest. Baela and Jace didn't slack-bake the cake, Alicent, yours is just dry. They promise to host next year...and do it better.

Op is correct, but just to throw in my unnecessary opinion-

Is Alicent not also risking Criston’s life by sleeping with him? Alicent and Criston don’t speak of running away to get married, and he continues to break his oath multiple times with her. Why doesn’t he assume Alicent doesn’t care about him/his life? It’s only Rhaenyra he calls a whore/bitch/cunt/cunning spider. After Alicent and Criston have sex, they awkwardly talk about the weather, and Alicent says they “can’t again”, suggesting it’s probably not a deeply loving relationship, just sex, but Criston isn’t angry at Alicent for risking his life for her own pleasure, and for not being deeply in love with him.

“Have him break his oath” suggests he didn’t also make the choice to sleep with Rhaenyra (and Alicent), and risk his own life. I’ve seen the argument that because Rhaenyra is in a position of power over him, he was too scared to say no. However, he does say no to being her “whore” and he goes on to antagonise Rhaenyra, he encourages Aegon to flight jace, kills Joffrey at her wedding, doesn’t hesitate to follow Alicent’s order of removing Luke’s eyes etc, and becomes part of the greens, these don’t seem like the actions of a man in fear of displeasing Rhaenyra.(Rhaenyra being a teenager and Criston an adult when they have sex is usually left out by people making this argument). But, Alicent has this same power over Criston, she’s the Queen dowager, the kings mother, and the hands daughter (at the time). She uses this power over him in the scene where she says she didn’t give him permission to use her name.

When Lyonel is talking to Harwin about his relationship with Rhaenyra he says, “Your intimacy with Princess Rhaenyra is an offense that could mean exile and death for you, for her, for the children!" which suggests Rhaenyra and Alicent could have been jeopardising their own life, literal and/or metaphorical, by sleeping with Criston, too. But, to bring it back to the power imbalance argument, if Rhaenyra has so much power over Criston, she must also have to power to protect him (and herself) from being punished for sleeping with her if anyone found out, no?

Also, despite everything Criston does to Rhaenyra (tells Alicent immediately that they slept together, kills Joffrey at her wedding, has Aegon fight Jace even though it’s an unfair fight) she never tells anyone it was him she slept with, thus protecting him from punishment and reputation damage. Even though she could say it was Criston, once it’s found out she’s slept with someone, to also have him punished like she has been, but she doesn’t. She could stop Daemon from being exiled by saying it wasn’t him she slept with, but she doesn’t.

That’s why I don’t like Criston. He absolutely despises Rhaenyra, and her whole family, for her mistakes as a teenager, but doesn’t hold anyone else to the same standard, even in almost identical situations or when they do worse. (Aegon cheats on Haelena, has his bastard kids in fighting pits, rapes Dyana and frequents brothels etc but Criston says nothing about that.) He says “women are the vision of the Mother to be spoke of with reverence”, but calls Rhaenyra a cunning spider, a spoiled cunt, the whore on Dragonstone etc.

The people that hate Rhaenyra for what she did to Criston don’t seem to hate Alicent for the same thing and vice versa. Which is the most annoying part.

(Not shitting on Alicent here, her having sex with Criston isn’t a problem in of it’s self, I’m just using it to compare Criston’s treatment of different women in the same situation)

oooooh people really think criston was upset specifically abt getting rejected by rhaenyra. they think he's upset she didn't want to run away with him. ah I see. so THATS why you all hate him so much! no friends I'm afraid he's upset because he assumed if she cared about him enough that to have him to break his oath and risk possible death she would have to be totally in love with him and unable to stop herself. instead he realised she was reckless with his life and deduced (right or wrong) from the incident that she didn't give a shit about him even as a friend. hope this helps.
