hihi! first off, I absolutely LOVE your artstyle lol
would you have any tips on how to draw rosettes? I’ve been practicing drawing markings for a while now but I still can’t get it to look round/circle-ish yet natural lmao
Thank you! and Rosettes are weird lil guys haha; here's how I do them!:
Rosettes come in a lot of varieties though! Some rosettes have more or less blobs, or sometimes they're just solid dots/blobs. 3 blobs just makes a good example for a tutorial because it shows how the blobs follow a circle shape
And by "cirular" i mean anything from a perfect circle, to a wide oval, to a rounded rectangle or triangle lol (leopard photo below from unsplash)
You could actually probably do step 4 first, and use that 'inner circle' as your circular guideline for your blobs! I prefer doing my blob lines first though so I can space each rosette out how I like (vs doing the inner circle first and later realizing that with the blob lines the rosettes are too close together)
I used my typical triangle brush because I use it for everything But a circular brush looks more realistic I think:

There is something genuinely so annoying when a high art piece will go viral on TikTok and you'll have a bunch of people who are not willing to understand the context interacting with it bc it's "trendy".
Like- I am all for high art being more common and more people engaging with it, but I swear when something goes viral people's brains just turn off and even if they would have been willing to grow and learn something in the process, because it's just a funny internet thing now they just stop caring.

I'm from Macedonia. That's like NOWHERE. WE had to read the Odyssey for school. And I knew of it BEFORE we had to read it for school because it was common knowledge. There was also some multi part Hallmark adaptation of it they kept playing on TV

i think the biggest obstacle between me and writing any sort of fiction is that my brain REQUIRES me to understand EVERY MINUTE DETAIL of literally everything. i can't just have my urban/historical fantasy 1950s gangsters smoking cigars in a room because i need to understand the entire culture behind cigars, the time and place in which one would smoke them, the daily life of a gangster, whether this takes place in europe or america, if there where gangsters during that time period, are my characters even gangsters? what exactly is the name of the aesthetic im picturing? how do i find out? i've been calling it a "gentleman" aesthetic but like i can't exactly google that. also how does the social and cultural and economic dynamics of the time influence what these characters are concerned with and talking about. how does magic affect this
and then instead of googling and putting in the work to understand and develop the world and story i just dont
#this happens with fanfiction too#trying to find a place in the s2 timeline to fit in a fic and then i realised that there is literally no space of time that i can#conceivably fit in a scene#there is some part of me that prevents me from writing in any genre unless i consume all the most#important pieces of media in that genre first#i think this is a result of liking and consuming so much post modern fuckin improvised or unconventional media#i don't get the basics like at all#im also autistic and don't grasp cultures and unspoken rules very quickly so i have actively look out for them#im realising that im quite like an ai in that you need to feed me copious amounts of good art#for me to produce anything

I keep having dreams about an Earthbound 64 prototype getting leaked. Shit lives in my mind rent free.
#it's my lost media white whale#not because i think it would be better than GBA mother 3 obviously. like from what I've seen it probably wouldn't have aged as well.#mother 3's pixel art style is a lot more timeless than N64. as much as i love shitty early 3D i think it was for the best it didn't work out#especially since the colors looked so dull. which might just be the quality of the videos we have but it still seems a bit grittier overall#but it was just such an important part of the games development history i Want To Know. man desires what it cannot have.#i honestly want another gigaleak to happen of the entire disk drive library tbh. mother 3 is my white whale but I'd love to see em all#especially since I've heard that the charge in the discs might die soon which would make a leak harder#since then it'd have to be a hacking like the gigaleak and not just someone dropping a prototype#maybe it'd increase the odds of people uploading roms though because soon their discs will be nonfunctional and valueless#idk. but I just want to see a glimpse of this lost piece of earthbound history as well as nintendo history in general.#i don't know why I'm so obsessed with it to the point I'm having dreams about it though.#if i had disposable income i would literally place a bounty on it. idk if that's legal but I'd fuckin do it.

so august 2018 is when my peak being-crazy-made art craziness happened, huh
#and then as soon as i left that situation all of my art became normal again lmao#i went from drawing weird cryptic things that quite literally would only ever make sense to me#to just. drawin landscape stuff like normal again sdhvfdvghsd#i mean there a couple cryptic things here n there after but like. not nearly as cryptic at all. like you could p much easily make out what#is trying to be conveyed. the other shit is like. nothing. you couldn't understand unless I had to explain everything that happened#gotta say guys doing shrooms and being abused do not mix well at all#bc when im not being abused and im on shrooms shit is great. im feeling lit. all i wanna do is draw nature stuff#but that moment in my life? phew...#vent#i literally thought I died. like i literally thought I wasn't actually alive and I was in some mirror version of earth that was the#underworld-- so much happened. its kind of distressing to think about all the weird fucking visions i got#and its not even like it was always like that when I did shrooms with that person- initially in the love-bombing phase I was fine.#all of my art from then looks pretty fuckin normal save for ig more colorful stuff and trippy patterns or whatever. but otherwise fine#if anything it enhanced my art#its only after the gaslighting and the putting me down and the withdrawing love shit started happening that i just like. snapped.#idek. it was all so surprising to me because they really did convince me they loved me.#not only all of that abuse-- also the enabling my conspiracy theory brain too which didn't help#which ironically my art didn't have much do to with actual conspiracy theories but the mindset was implemented in to me so#there was a lot of weird delusions and paranoia and just like. stuff that didn't make sense but also did if I explained it?? idek#there was like a consistent story to my weird visions but it didn't make sense also. like there was no real reason for things to be what#they were or look the way they did or whatever#but there Was a consistent story still#its something i *want* to encapsulate into maybe a comic or picture book or something but like. idek if i could encapsulate it all#theres so many bits and pieces that idek if i could fully convey- idk#dawg even my stuff from after my couple of 'acid' trips wasn't as confusing and cryptic as the stuff after being abused#one common theme in a lot of it is its intentionally repelling. every part of my being knew I needed to be away from that person in spite#of how they would pretend to be friendly with me so some of that art is trying to scare them away in a weird cryptic way that tbfh#they probably didn't understand either whenever a pic was trying to do that like what it even was trying to say- thats kinda how fucking#crazy i got from that whole situation. i think part of me felt like that at least if it was vague and unhinged that it would scare them#away idrk. i do think it worked lol. even if it doesnt really fully make sense at all. idk. but 0/10 one of the worst periods of my life
