What's the best portrayal of yourself you've seen in modern media?
Good day my darling mask.
Have thus a podium from nearest to farthest to me.
This one, I'd suppose. Svjatoslav Richter certainly knew how to play, which is the most important thing, and his mannerisms are exact to what has made me despised by many. Alas, he lacks in height and voice... One cannot have everything... This is what I would present myself as, all around and most of all as an artist.
Sviatoslav Richter as Franz Liszt in the "Glinka - The Composer" movie - YouTube
As to media centered around my person, the only two I would save are the long performance by Géza D. Hegedüs... Which stars as well as Daniel, my son, at one point...
...and, but to a much lower degree, fitting for looks and self-deprecament, Geordie Johnson in Liszt's Rhapsody.

Happy birthday Monsieur Liszt! ♡
When I was very little, I used to believe that Franz Liszt's hair was magical and would flow in the air and defy gravity whenever he played with fervour.

Franz Liszt was a Hungarian composer, a virtuoso pianist, symphony conductor, and an extraordinarily prolific pillar of the Romantic period of music. With a career spanning over six decades, he was regarded as perhaps the greatest pianist of his time, developing a worldwide reputation for his extreme level of technical skill. To this day, Liszt's works are played and recognized the world over.
Check out perhaps Liszt's most famous and recognizable piece, Hungarian Rhapsody, No. 2, played here by Rousseau.
Photographed by Felix Nadar in March of 1886.

!!!NEW REVIEW!!!
Tumblr media
dubbed as “the working-class Fantasia”, there really is no more apt way to describe Rhapsody in Rivets. Friz Freleng was no man better suited for the job: his musical prowess transforms politely amusing gags into a feat of animated synchronicity, just as his no-nonsense, no frills directing style is perfect for the rough and tumble tone that eases any pretension. the first of many Freleng shorts to revolve around this piece, construction workers do their duty, their collaborative building meticulously timed to Franz Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody No. II”.

It is still a dream of mine to find a piano playing duet buddy to do a version of this routine with me some day.
(I don’t think I could necessarily do Victor Borge justice, but I’d sure like to try!)

Good day, Mr. Liszt,
Which is:
Your favorite composition
Your most underrated composition
Your most overplayed
And sorry for being basic, but I have to say that I greatly admire your arrangement of “La Campanella”—I even prefer it to the original violin arrangement!
Good evening, my dear pupil.
I suppose these questions all refer to my own music, though am not completely sure regarding the first one, which is of course the hardest to answer as well.
Perhaps the Sonata in B minor or Orpheus... Perhaps something later, something atonal. Perhaps Benediction de Dieu dans la solitude...
As for most underrated: the Apparitions. I wrote them at around twenty-two, but they are not virtuosic exercises and should not be swept under the rug as they are.
La Campanella and the 2nd Hungarian Rhapsody for sure are overplayed. Perhaps the first more than the latter. At least it has Hungary in its name.
Thank you for the congratulations!
