I finally have a Tundra x FC ship but because I'm super smart, just talking about it would be huge spoilers for their story so I can't even begin to beg people to draw them smooching for me. Unless I finally get off my ass and put down their designs and their story.

Back to begging people to draw Tundra and Café being frenemies instead.

Extremely hurt and disappointed by the first but just confused by the second because how did they even find it? Even when I still tagged it with characters, you'd have to be specifically have been searching Quint and Mega Man (the tag was Quint (Mega Man Classic) to even find this work on AO3. So, like. How?!

The bizarre thing with the first one is...this was backdated to 2020 with another work. So the commenter made it a point to comment on this work but not leave a kudos, but then gave a kudos to some joke concept--not even a full comic--a sketch concept for some reason. And I was just thinking, the only reason to do this was if she had been subscribed to me and gotten the update for those two works. Now this is the only time she had every interacted with my work on AO3 so the implication was...she had been subscribed for me for a while (the subscriber number did not recently change) but only bothered to comment and leave kudos now? What was the point? Like, if you actually don't like my works don't bother signing up for them?

Keep in mind, this was the ONLY comment had I received in months and I was feeling touchy by how my Yuletide work was going so I feeling raw. I just keep thinking "I'll have to keep seeing this comment that only PARTLY wants to see this continued, a comment that did not bother leaving one stupidass kudos for a work I based on a gift idea I loved for her, but she did for some totally unrelated sketch work. This is never explained." Anyway I was hurt. I just nuked both of them, reposted them and would rather have them free of any comment/kudos than to keep seeing the reminders of how hurt I was on my archive.

But then some Quint managed to find it and leave kudos so, I'm confused but thanks. I guess. They must have really liked seeing Quint no matter how nonsensical/weird the context.

Well, their only posted work is about Quint and in their comments in it they talk to other people how much they love Quint is and how underrated he is, so.

At one point, she was supposed to be Scrap Woman’s partner (the robot with sharp features on the left side) and they share bantz–but Scrap’s backstory has changed a bit so I don’t think that’s true anymore. 

I'll definitely repeat this but Scrap Woman and her human partner/friend Brenda Nguyen in the figure skating AU was originally from the "Arc Weldy Fall in Love" universe, though they never properly show up in any of the stories/comics I drew.

Scraps's robot partner/girlfriend Ladybird is totally an original "The Edge of Glory" character, though.

When Café Woman's profile talks about liking "women in love", in the story, it's specifically about these two, but she's just a big fan of women/girls just being visibly in love with someone (sometimes, with something).

I seemed to have missed scanning two pages of this comic.

“Arc Weldy Feels The Love” was the one sidestory I wanted to draw the most. It was also the least connected to the main story, not that funny and also the longest to boot. It didn’t really make any sense to bring it to existence–since, uh, I was making the sidestories coz I felt the main story was devoid of the hahas.

For a simple story, it was difficult for me to draw. Probably because I kept going “what the fuck, it should not this difficult to draw”. I never felt good enough to draw what’s in my head, and I still don’t–but at least it exists now.

While drawing the main “Arc Weldy” story, I actually debated of including another transformed Arc Weldy because I thought it would distract from the main protag of the story. On the flipside, it really appealed to me to show how different the protag Arc Weldy would be from yet another Arc Weldy. 

While I was drawing this other Arc Weldy, another idea was to showcase a different sort of love between two robots, not the romantic one between an small robot and a boss one (basically mob enemy and your Robot Master Tundra) but a softer, mutual affection and devotion. More teacher-student or parent-child. Most of the transformations were random but I chose theirs as a reflection of this.

Not much for laughs in this idea but there is one comic about the one Arc Weldy who doesn’t fall in love and just “wtf is all this” so there’s the regular reaction, lol. That’s the particularly angry one, actually.

On that note, Arc Weldys and Pickmen and pretty much all the robots I draw are probably bigger than I depict them. Arc Weldys should probably the size of actual welding machines and not vacuum cleaners, probably.

Oh, this is nice. A possible scene where the winter before the event happens, and the Pickman protag meets Tundra, who’s generally hanging around Nakaume work site while waiting for Block and Impact to go out with him. Pickman muses how nice it is for even even the usually strict Chief(s) to have friends.

The unnamed female maintenance worker. She’s a human engineer for Nakaume Heavy Machinery assigned to particular group. Her name’s Brenda Nguyen. 

At one point, she was supposed to be Scrap Woman’s partner (the robot with sharp features on the left side) and they share bantz–but Scrap’s backstory has changed a bit so I don’t think that’s true anymore. 

She got her legs broken because…I thought that showing anything more fatal wouldn’t jibe with the tone of the story (and actual canon world). For a dark moment it did cross my mind “what if Impact’s robots attacks her and she dies” and the a split second there’s “wtf no”. With the amount of damage and robotic rebellions or whatever, there’s bound to be human injuries and death, but that’s probably not gonna addressed…in this story at least. Another idea was Pickman just kinda just locks into her a room but I went with broken legs for srs bsns–to show Arc Weldy’s just all “:D!” at whatever Pickman would do.

Pick Protag and Impact eventually visited and apologized to her in the hospital. She doesn’t really hold it against them buuuuuuut did ask to be reassigned somewhere else because PTSD. That’s not really important to either this story or even this one but I did think about it. Oh hey, she could still be Scrap’s partner, then.

This Arc Weldy and the Pickman would’ve been major roles in the White Day sequel but that story just seriously bums me out, emotionally so I’ll just leave them all in this happier state.

I know the common helmetless head/haircanon is to give Tundra long white hair that he braids but the way I think of it is--he already has it that outside. His modified armor/form is like him putting on a cosplay/wig but on the inside it's the same. Not that I never draw him with white/long hair but I usually go for short, practically cute or even plain bald metal skull.

I was looking at my old stuff for a Joke when I was reminded of this Tundra face headcanon.

Tundra’s face being rougher than as a holdover of his original, tough-exterior design but also some scarring. Spending years by his lonesome and also having the ability to make self-modifications implies Tundra is big on self-maintenance. The idea behind this one he doesn’t care as much as his inner appearance (probably slight damage at work) and expends all his energy on making his outer figure beautiful. Even his future, living up North is tough.

Tundra probably be embarrassed if anyone else would see and only those of him would ever his face. …But I personally that kind of face is hot, sorry, Tundra.

Oh, this one has him with freckles. Very cute.

Spotify refused to let me screencap some more info for example that I'm the in the 0.1 % listeners of this song. Which I'll believe but apparently no one else listens to this song. I resent this! This should be one of Sponge Cola's runaway hits and have like ten million remixes and tons of videos of getting to Armo to sing live!

I like the part where Sabrina Carpenter says "motherfucker".

June was "listening endlessly to 'In the End' over and over' sure. I only had Spotify installed (read: pirated) for June and July before it refused to be work anymore.

I was apparently in their top 5% of their listeners. Or maybe that was the Eraserheads. It was probably higher, though.

My favorite part was when he took a sip from his cup and commented, "Fancy." Did you know he once made a song about coffee? The song itself. What he talked about was...some sort of incident where the band had fun--he began talking about Sponge Cola totally makes sad songs, too, so by implication, there was a recent incident/concert where they totally rocked with their more energetic songs?

It's only sampling from two months but yeah.
