Chapter five
The morning sun shines brightly, casting a warm, golden light over the small town. The storm's aftermath has brought clear skies and a gentle breeze, making it a perfect day to relax. Sean, Daniel, and you decide to take a well-deserved break at the beach right behind the Diaz house.
With beach towels, a cooler full of snacks, and plenty of sunscreen in hand, you make your way down the sandy path. The sound of waves crashing against the shore is soothing, and the salty sea breeze invigorates your senses.
“This was a great idea,” you say, glancing at Sean. “We all needed a day off.”
Sean grins, adjusting the strap of the cooler on his shoulder. “Yeah, it’s been a busy week. Time to unwind.”
Daniel runs ahead, his excitement palpable. “Come on, slowpokes! The water’s calling my name!”
You laugh, picking up your pace to keep up with him. “Alright, alright, we’re coming!”
Sean spreads out the towels while Daniel dives straight into the waves, his laughter echoing across the shore. You sit down, pulling out a bottle of sunscreen. Slowly you begin to gently coat your arms and legs, but reaching for your back seems to be a bit difficult.
“You need any help with that?” Sean asks, his tone casual but his eyes playful.
You bite your lip, a little nervous but mostly excited. “Actually, yeah. Could you get my back?”
“Of course,” he says, taking the sunscreen from your hand. You turn around, lifting your hair out of the way. His hands are warm as he applies the lotion, his touch firm but gentle.
As Sean works the sunscreen into your shoulders, his fingers start to massage the tense muscles. “Your shoulders are a bit tense,” he remarks, his voice low and soothing.
You laugh softly, feeling the tension melt away under his skilled touch. “I guess that’s what happens when you’re working hard.”
Sean’s hands linger, the massage turning into a slow, rhythmic kneading that sends pleasant shivers down your spine. “Well, you deserve a break. Just relax.”
You close your eyes, savoring the moment. “This feels amazing. Thank you.”
Sean chuckles softly, continuing the massage for a few more moments before finishing with the sunscreen. “There you go. All set.”
“Thanks,” you say, turning to face him. “I’ll get yours next.”
He smirks, handing you the bottle. “I’m all yours.”
You apply the sunscreen to Sean’s back, your fingers tracing the defined muscles under his skin. The closeness between you is electric, each touch filled with unspoken promises. When you’re done, you move to sit beside him on the towel, the sun warming your skin.
“Want to go for a swim?” you suggest, glancing at the sparkling water.
“Sure,” Sean agrees. “Race you to the water?”
“You’re on,” you say, jumping up and sprinting towards the waves.
Sean quickly catches up, his longer strides giving him an advantage. You both laugh as you splash into the water, the coolness a refreshing contrast to the hot sun. Daniel joins in, and soon the three of you are playing a lively game of catch with a beach ball, the carefree atmosphere infectious.
“You’re pretty good at this,” Sean comments, throwing the ball at you with a grin.
You catch it effortlessly. “What can I say? I have hidden talents.”
“Oh, really? What other talents are you hiding?” Sean teases, swimming closer.
You laugh, splashing him playfully. “Guess you’ll have to stick around and find out.”
Sean’s eyes twinkle with amusement. “I just might.”
After a while, you all retreat to the shore, panting and laughing. You lie down on the towels to dry off, the sun soothing your skin.
“This is perfect,” you say, closing your eyes and letting the warmth seep into your bones.
Sean lies next to you, propping himself up on one elbow. “Yeah, it really is. Sometimes you need to take a step back and just enjoy the moment.”
Daniel, still buzzing with energy, starts building a sandcastle nearby. You watch him for a while, admiring his creativity and enthusiasm.
“Hey, Sean,” you say, turning to face him. “Thanks for today. I really needed this.”
He smiles, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Me too. It’s nice to just relax and have fun.”
A comfortable silence falls between you as you both soak up the sun. After a while, you sit up and reach for the cooler, pulling out some snacks.
“Hungry?” you ask, offering Sean a sandwich.
“Starving,” he replies, taking it with a grateful nod. “Thanks.”
You eat together, the easy conversation flowing between bites. The chemistry between you and Sean is undeniable, the playful banter and shared smiles creating a bond that feels natural and strong.
“So, what’s next on the agenda?” you ask, lying back down and stretching out.
“Well,” Sean says, glancing over at Daniel’s sandcastle, “we could help Daniel build the ultimate sandcastle. Or we could just keep lounging here, soaking up the sun.”
“Both sound good to me,” you say, smiling.
Sean grins, his eyes sparkling. “How about we start with the sandcastle? I think Daniel could use some expert help.”
You laugh. “Alright, let’s do it.”
The three of you spend the rest of the afternoon building an elaborate sandcastle, complete with towers, moats, and even a drawbridge. Daniel’s imagination runs wild, and you and Sean happily follow his lead, adding your own creative touches.
“Check this out,” you say, molding a tiny seashell into one of the castle’s turrets. “A little decoration.”
Daniel beams. “That’s awesome! This is going to be the best sandcastle ever.”
Sean nods, clearly impressed. “Definitely. We should take a picture when it’s done.”
As the sun starts to set, casting a golden glow over the beach, you step back to admire your handiwork.
“Not bad,” Sean says, wiping the sand off his hands. “We make a pretty good team.”
“Definitely,” you agree, feeling a sense of accomplishment. “This was a great day.”
Daniel runs up, his face beaming with pride. “Thanks for helping, guys. This is the best sandcastle ever!”
“We’re glad you had fun,” Sean says, ruffling his brother’s hair. “Now, how about we head back and see if Mrs. Perez has any leftovers for dinner?”
“Sounds good to me,” you say, gathering up your things.
As you walk back to the Diaz house, the day’s memories fill you with a warm sense of belonging. The easy camaraderie with Sean and Daniel, the playful flirtation, and the shared moments of joy all contribute to a deepening bond that you cherish more with each passing day.
“We’re glad you had fun,” Sean says, ruffling his brother’s hair. “Now, how about we head back and cook something up together?”
Back at the house, you, Sean, and Daniel head to the kitchen. The aroma of the sea still lingers in the air, and the kitchen becomes a lively hub of activity.
“Alright, what should we make?” Sean asks, rummaging through the pantry.
“I was thinking we could make some tacos,” you suggest, pulling out fresh vegetables and tortillas. “Something quick and easy.”
“Sounds perfect,” Sean agrees. “And I’ll handle the grilling.”
Daniel, always eager to help, starts chopping vegetables. “Can I be in charge of the toppings?”
“Definitely,” you say, handing him a knife and some cucumbers. “We’ll make a taco bar.”
As you work together, the kitchen fills with laughter and friendly banter. Sean moves around with practiced ease, his energy is contagious. You steal glances at him, enjoying the easy camaraderie that has developed between you.
“Hey, can you pass me that bowl?” Sean asks, leaning over the counter.
You hand him the bowl, your fingers brushing against his. “You’re getting pretty good at this cooking thing.”
Sean grins, his eyes twinkling. “Well, I’ve had a lot of practice. But I think I might have found my new favorite sous-chef.”
You laugh, enjoying the flirtatious tone in his voice. “Is that so? Maybe I should take it as a compliment.”
Sean’s gaze lingers on you. “Definitely take it as a compliment. I’m a pretty good judge of talent.”
The cooking continues with playful teasing and shared jokes. Daniel, between his chopping and arranging, occasionally throws in his own witty comments, making the kitchen atmosphere light and fun.
As the meal nears completion, Sean and you set the table while Daniel prepares a fresh salsa. The tacos turn out delicious, and everyone enjoys the fruits of your labor.
The evening settles in, and the Diaz house transforms into a cozy haven for movie night. Sean and Daniel are in the living room, setting up the space with blankets and pillows. The aroma of freshly popped popcorn fills the air, and the soft glow of a few lamps creates a warm ambiance.
“Alright, everything’s set,” Sean announces, plopping down on the couch and stretching his legs out. “What’s our movie pick tonight?”
You walk in, carrying a bowl of popcorn and a couple of soda cans. “How about a classic comedy? Something that’ll keep us laughing.”
Daniel, already curled up on one end of the couch, looks up with enthusiasm. “Sounds great! I love a good laugh.”
Sean grins, giving you a playful look. “You know, you have a knack for picking the perfect movie. I’m starting to think you might be a movie night expert.”
You laugh, settling down next to him and passing the popcorn bowl. “Flattery will get you everywhere.”
Sean takes a handful of popcorn and nudges you playfully. “Just trying to keep up with the expert.”
The movie starts, and the room fills with the sound of light-hearted humor. The three of you sink into the comfort of the couch, the shared laughter making the atmosphere feel even more relaxed.
As the movie progresses, you find yourself leaning closer to Sean, enjoying the warmth of his presence. The playful banter between you two continues, with occasional exchanges of glances and smiles that speak volumes.
In a particularly funny scene, you burst into laughter, almost spilling the popcorn. Sean catches a few kernels that fall, his hand brushing against yours as he retrieves them.
“Careful there,” Sean says with a mischievous smile. “I might have to start wearing a bib if you keep laughing like that.”
You nudge him gently. “Hey, I can’t help it if the movie’s hilarious.”
Sean’s gaze lingers on you, his eyes soft and appreciative. “Well, I’m glad you’re enjoying it. It’s more fun with you here.”
You feel a warm flutter at his words. “I’m enjoying it too. And not just because of the movie.”
Sean’s smile widens, and he moves a little closer. “Oh? And why’s that?”
You meet his gaze, feeling a playful spark. “Because I get to spend time with you.”
Sean’s eyes twinkle with amusement. “Flattery again, huh? I think you’re trying to get on my good side.”
“Maybe,” you say with a wink. “Or maybe I just enjoy your company.”
As the movie progresses, Daniel chimes in with his own commentary. “Hey, look at that!” he says, pointing at a particularly funny scene. “That reminds me of when Sean tried to dance at last year’s party. You remember that, right?”
Sean throws a playful glare at Daniel. “Oh, come on. That was one time, and it was supposed to be a surprise!”
You laugh, giving Sean a teasing look. “I’d love to hear more about this dancing adventure.”
Daniel grins, clearly enjoying the chance to tease his brother. “Well, let’s just say, Sean’s moves were… unique. He had the whole party laughing, including himself.”
Sean rolls his eyes but can’t suppress a grin. “Alright, alright. I admit it was a bit embarrassing. But in my defense, I was trying to impress someone.”
You raise an eyebrow, intrigued. “Really? Who was this lucky person?”
Sean’s smile widens as he looks at you. “Let’s just say I was trying to impress someone who made me feel like dancing.”
You meet his gaze, a playful spark in your eye. “Oh, well, I’m sure they were impressed.”
Daniel, catching on to the flirtatious exchange, chimes in with a teasing tone. “Yeah, and it seems like you never stop with trying to impress someone. You’re doing a pretty good job.”
Sean looks at Daniel with a mock stern expression. “Oh, you’re on thin ice, mister. Watch it.”
Daniel laughs, clearly enjoying the playful banter. “Just saying. It’s nice to see you two getting along so well.”
The movie continues, and the room is filled with laughter and light-hearted comments. Occasionally, Daniel adds his own humorous remarks, making the evening even more enjoyable.
As the movie draws to a close, you notice that Daniel has drifted off to sleep, his head resting against the arm of the couch. Sean gently adjusts the blanket over him, making sure he’s comfortable.
You watch the scene with a soft smile, feeling a sense of contentment. Sean notices your gaze and turns to you with a tender expression.
“Everything okay?” he asks softly.
You nod, your heart feeling warm. “Yeah, everything’s perfect. Thanks for making tonight so special.”
Sean’s smile is gentle, his eyes reflecting the same warmth you feel. “I’m glad you enjoyed it. It’s been a great day.”
The movie credits roll and the two of you sit in comfortable silence, the closeness between you palpable. Sean reaches over, taking your hand in his.
“This might have been my favorite movie night ever,” he says, his voice low and sincere.
You squeeze his hand, feeling a rush of affection. “Mine too. I’m really glad we’re doing this together.”
Sean’s gaze is steady and full of promise. “Me too.”
As the evening winds down, you and Sean find yourselves sitting closer, your hands intertwined. The warmth of the moment wraps around you, making it feel like the perfect end to a day filled with laughter and connection.
When it’s time to say goodnight, Sean walks you to the door, his hand lingering on yours.
“Thanks for tonight,” you say, feeling a mix of gratitude and anticipation.
Sean’s eyes sparkle with affection. “Anytime. I’m looking forward to more nights like this.”
You smile, feeling a sense of excitement about the future. “Me too. Goodnight, Sean.”
“Goodnight,” he replies softly, giving you a lingering look before you head out.
As you drive home, the day’s events replay in your mind, each moment with Sean and Daniel adding to a growing sense of closeness and possibility. The connection between you feels stronger than ever, setting the stage for new and exciting adventures ahead.

LW DANIEL HEADCANONS
CUZ YALL LOVE IT SM!! (yk who u are) Daniel probably went days if not weeks without saying a single word not only because he wouldn't have anyone to talk to in the first place but also because he probably hated his voice cuz it reminded him too much of sean One day he woke up and his voice was all deep and he was surprised because he didn't know he went through puberty because he wasn't able to hear his voice changing because he never talked. He kept seans journal, but burned some (not all) sketches of younger him that sean drew. (maybe idk) He dyed his hair because it reminded him too much of sean (unoriginal idea) He tried to write in a journal, but most of the pages just end in scribbling. He continues to draw every now and then though because sean asked him to that one time. He still writes like a kid because noone ever taught him how to improve his handwriting. He robbed/destroyed a place out of anger the first month he got to puerto lobos because he saw something in the store that reminded him of sean.
He sneaks into zoo's (if they're there) to look at the wolves. he tried writing a book about him and sean but ended up losing it during a heist, he lost motivation to write ever since. He hesitates when he smokes a cigarette because when he was at the camp in ep3 sean refused (thankfully) to give him a cigarette. It took a few tries for him to bleach his hair because he kept missing strands. He vandalizes cop stations He hates halloween, yet whenever it is halloween he always goes out and make sure kids are behaving right. Ex : if kids stole a bowl of candy, he'd make them put it back. If a adult refused to give a kid candy, he'd make them. He once let a kid stay with him for a week or two because his parents were on vacation and he kept getting bullied. He would probably start crying if someone hugged him or put a hand on his shoulder.

Okay, this is gonna be a little brain break from writing my LIS 2 apoc AU.
Reasons Why I'm Writing A Zombie AU for LIS 2:
They're constantly on the run, and trying to leave the country. Perfect setup to throw some zombies in.
It's Halloween.
Daniel dressed as a zombie and made fake zombie blood.
Sean drew zombies on the day of Episode 1.
Many zombies references throughout gameplay (such as when Chris asked Sean to draw for him).
EDIT: The Last of Us reference with the mushrooms and Sean making a clicker noise after Daniel references clickers.
Probably more but I literally just found out Sean drew zombies in his sketchbook on Oct 28th. 💀
I'd really love to talk more about it but I don't wanna spoil my ideas.

i firmly believe that Sean gave his and Daniel's names as "Sam and Dean Winchester" to at least one motel clerk/diner waitress/shelter employee at some point in their travels. it is one hundred percent not a conscious decision, he just panics when he realizes on the spot that they need fake names, gives the first ones that come to mind, and has to Live With It.
the person they're lying to either doesn't get the references or can't admit they do in public, so things are okay there. Daniel either recognizes the reference and finds it hilarious, or it completely goes over his head and he doesn't understand why Sean looks like he's going to burst out crying/laughing every time someone refers to them by those names afterwards--i can't decide which is funnier.

Life is Strange 2 - What if Esteban didn't die? - Chapter 1
Esteban gets between his sons and the police officer, who holds a gun in his direction.
─ Are you really going to shoot at me? For no reason? Please, please listen to us first. I want to know what happened. Let's calm down.
The police officer puts the gun down.
─ Okay.
Esteban looks at Sean.
─ What did you do to Brett? Please tell me the truth.
─ Daniel accidentally spilled zombie blood onto his shirt. But this is all that's happened. But this motherfucker thinks it was on purpose.
─ This is a lie! He did it on purpose! This dumb and stupid little kid!
─ Hey, don't say that about my little bro!
Sean almost beats Brett, but Esteban holds him.
─ Don't do it, son. It'll make things worse for us.
Sean calms down.
─ You all, please go home! I have more important matters to care about ─ the police officer orders.
Brett shows his middle finger at Sean and Daniel. Sean does the same and hugs his brother tightly.
─ Are you okay, Daniel? He didn't hurt you, did he?
The police officer looks at Esteban with a mad face.
─ What could I expect from two kids raised by a Mexican dad? That's why we can't let you immigrants take over America, or else violence will spread! You will never be welcome in this country! Sincerely, I hope a decent president takes over and builds a wall to keep those assholes away.
He goes back into his car and drives it away. Esteban is still bothered by what he's just heard but tries not to show it. They all get inside.
─ So... I think papito here needs to get back to work. And please, don't get into any more trouble. Things aren't easy for immigrants like me in this country.
Sean goes towards him.
─ Dad, wait...
Esteban looks at him.
─ I... I just wanted to say... please don't get bothered by what that stupid police officer said to you. You are a good dad and both me and Daniel love you.
─ I know it, son...
He, still sad, goes back to repairing the car he was working on. He doesn't want his children to see him unhappy. Sean is worried about him and talks to Daniel.
─ Daniel, I think dad is sad about what happened.
─ Yeah... what if we... bought a pizza for him?
─ I don't think that would do much to cheer him up, but we could try. He had given me some money for the party, but... I think spending that money buying something for him would be worth it.
─ But... won't you go to the party tonight, Sean?
─ Nah... I'm okay. I prefer staying with my family, especially after almost losing my dad.
─ Did you see that guy point a gun at him?
─ Yeah... By the way, I have to get back to my bedroom. Lyla is waiting for me on Skype. See you later, Daniel, and DO NOT enter my room!
Sean goes back to his room and resumes the call with Lyla.
─ Why did you leave out of a sudden?
─ You won't believe it, shit happened.
─ What shit?
─ Long story. By the way, I wanna say that I'm not going to the party tonight. I wanna spend some time with my dad.
─ Wow, how did you change your mind so fast? You never cared that much about him.
─ I know, but...
─ What about Jenn? Weren't you excited to see her at the party?
─ Yeah, I was, but... there'll be other opportunities for that in the future.
─ I wouldn't be so sure of that. But, if that's your decision... by the way, I'm also not going to the party tonight. At least not without you. It would be boring to go there without you.
─ I see... so, talk to you later?
─ Yep. I'm still very confused. You were super excited for the party.
─ I know... bye, see you later.
─ Bye, Sean! I like you so much... I mean... as a friend... anyway, never mind.
She immediately turns off the call. Sean gets up and looks for his sketchbook and a pencil. He sits on his bed and starts drawing a forest. In the drawing, he is sitting on a rock beside his dad and brother near a river. His imagination goes wild, and he gets lost in his thoughts. He feels as if he were there.

Chapter seven
The next morning, you wake up on the couch feeling surprisingly refreshed, despite the drinks from the night before. You stretch and look around, realizing that Sean and Daniel are already up and about.
Sean comes into the living room, carrying a tray with coffee and breakfast. “Good morning, sleepyhead. How are you feeling?”
You sit up, rubbing your eyes. “Morning. I’m actually feeling pretty good. Thanks for the coffee.”
Sean sets the tray down and sits next to you. “No problem. Daniel’s already made himself scarce. I think he’s out and about somewhere.”
You take a sip of coffee, enjoying the warmth. “I hope he’s okay. Last night was really fun.”
Sean smiles, his eyes twinkling with a mix of affection and amusement. “Yeah, he enjoyed it too. He was just asking me some questions before he went off to do his own thing.”
“Oh? What kind of questions?” you ask, curious.
Sean chuckles. “Oh, just about us, really. He’s a bit of a matchmaker at heart.”
You laugh softly. “Well, I hope he’s not planning any surprise proposals or anything.”
Sean grins, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “No, nothing like that. But he does care a lot, and he wants the best for both of us.”
As the morning progresses, you and Sean enjoy breakfast together, talking about your plans for the day and reminiscing about last night. The connection between you deepens, marked by the ease and affection that has developed over the past weeks.
The day stretches out before you, filled with possibilities and the promise of more shared adventures. The future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: you and Sean are creating something special, one day at a time.
You leave the Diaz house with a sense of warmth and excitement, the memory of the night’s festivities lingering in your mind. As you drive home, the familiar streets seem to take on a new sheen, reflecting the hopeful and slightly anxious feelings you’re experiencing.
Back at your place, you take some time to reflect on the growing connection between you and Sean. The evening had been magical, and you can’t help but wonder where this path might lead. The way he looks at you, the ease of your conversations, and the genuine care he shows—it all feels so right. Yet, there’s a flutter of uncertainty. Is this too good to be true? How will this relationship fit into your life?
Sitting at your desk, you pull out your notebook and begin to jot down ideas for one of your ongoing writing projects. The inspiration flows effortlessly, spurred by the emotions and experiences you’ve had recently. Each word you write feels like a step towards something new and exciting, and you lose yourself in the creative process, feeling more connected to your work than ever before.
The next day, a spark of excitement and newfound inspiration drives you to visit the Diaz garage unannounced. You’ve been mulling over some new business ideas, eager to discuss them with Sean. The desire to see him again adds a spring to your step as you make the spontaneous visit.
As you pull up to the garage, you notice the doors are open, and the familiar sounds of tools and machinery hum from within. You park and walk toward the garage, your thoughts racing about how to present your new ideas to Sean. The anticipation of seeing his reaction and sharing your progress fills you with a sense of purpose.
Stepping inside, you see Sean working on a car, deeply engrossed in his task. You take a moment to admire his focus and skill, the way his hands move deftly, his brow furrowed in concentration. Just as you’re about to call out to him, a strange, soft rustling sound from the corner of the garage catches your attention.
Turning your head, you’re stunned to see Daniel standing near a workbench. His hands are extended toward a pile of tools, which are floating in mid-air, suspended by an unseen force. Daniel’s eyes are closed in concentration, and he seems completely absorbed in the display of telekinesis.
Your breath catches in your throat. For a moment, you think you’re dreaming. The logical part of your mind struggles to process what you’re seeing. This can’t be real—people don’t just move things with their minds. Your heart races, and a wave of panic surges through you.
You back away slowly, your mind whirling with confusion and fear. Just as you turn to leave, Sean looks up from his work, noticing your sudden change in demeanor.
“Hey, are you okay?” Sean’s voice is filled with concern. He walks over, his brow furrowed. “You look pale. What’s wrong?”
You can’t find the words to explain or even process what you’ve just witnessed. The only thing you know is that you need to get away. “I... I’m sorry, I need to go,” you manage to stammer, your voice barely above a whisper.
Sean’s face falls, and he reaches out a hand as if to stop you. “Wait, let me explain! This isn’t—”
But you’re already rushing out of the garage, your footsteps echoing on the concrete floor. You fumble with your car keys, your hands shaking as you start the engine. The drive home is a blur of erratic thoughts and a growing sense of disbelief.
Back at your apartment, you pace around, trying to make sense of what you saw. The excitement of your visit has turned into a knot of anxiety. You sit down, trying to calm yourself. Is this some sort of elaborate joke? Did you imagine it? What does this mean for your relationship with Sean?
The quiet of your house does little to soothe your frazzled nerves. The normalcy of your surroundings feels alien and distant compared to the whirlwind of emotions you’re experiencing. You question your own sanity, the sight of Daniel’s telekinesis playing over and over in your mind.
You sit on the couch, hugging a pillow to your chest. The familiar comfort of your living room feels strangely uninviting. Your thoughts are a tangled mess of fear, confusion, and a deep sense of betrayal. How could something like this be hidden from you? Were they planning to tell you? Or were you never meant to find out?
You recall every interaction with Sean and Daniel, scrutinizing every detail, searching for any signs you might have missed. The weight of the secret presses down on you, making it hard to breathe.
As the evening approaches, you feel more isolated than ever. The discovery has left you disoriented, and the only thing you’re certain of is that you need some time to figure things out before confronting Sean again. The shadows lengthen outside your window, mirroring the shadows of doubt in your mind.
You try to distract yourself with a book, but the words blur together, and you can’t focus. The sight of Daniel’s telekinesis keeps replaying in your mind, each replay heightening your anxiety. You wonder if you’re losing your grip on reality.
The day ends with more questions than answers. As you try to unwind, you find it difficult to focus on anything other than the strange and troubling discovery. You drift into a restless sleep, the shadows of uncertainty hanging heavy over your dreams.
The next morning, you wake up with a heavy heart. The events of the previous day weigh on you, but you know you can’t avoid the truth forever. You need to understand what’s happening, and more importantly, you need to decide how you feel about it.
You decide to take a walk to clear your head. The fresh air and the sound of birds chirping help to calm your nerves. As you walk, you think about Sean and Daniel, the bond you’ve formed with them, and the potential for something more with Sean. But now, everything feels uncertain.
You sit on a bench in the park, watching the world go by. You see families playing, friends chatting, and couples holding hands. It reminds you of what you want—a sense of normalcy, of connection. But how can you have that when the world you thought you knew has been turned upside down?
After some time, you stand up, feeling a newfound determination. You need answers, and you need to hear them from Sean and Daniel. You need to understand what’s happening, and you need to decide if you can accept it.
With a deep breath, you head back to your house. You know the conversation ahead won’t be easy, but you also know that you can’t move forward without it. The future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: you need to face the truth, no matter how unsettling it may be.
The next morning, after a restless night filled with fragmented dreams and unanswered questions, you wake up feeling determined. You know you can't avoid the truth forever. The sooner you understand what’s happening, the sooner you can decide how to move forward. Taking a deep breath, you get dressed and head out to your car, driving back to the Diaz house with a mix of trepidation and resolve.
As you pull up to the familiar garage, you see Sean outside, working on a car. He looks up and immediately notices your anxious expression. Concern flashes across his face, and he sets down his tools, walking toward you with a cautious but hopeful look.
“Hey,” Sean says softly, his voice filled with worry. “I’m really sorry about how you found out yesterday. That wasn’t how I wanted you to learn about… all of this.”
You nod, swallowing the lump in your throat. “Can we talk? I need to understand what’s going on.”
Sean gestures toward the house. “Of course. Let’s go inside.”
Once inside, you both sit down on the couch. Sean takes a deep breath, gathering his thoughts before he begins. “It all started with our dad’s death,” he says, his voice heavy with emotion. “He was shot by a cop, and everything just… spiraled out of control from there.”
He pauses, looking at you to gauge your reaction. You nod, urging him to continue.
“After that, Daniel’s powers started to manifest. It was terrifying and confusing for both of us. We didn’t know what was happening or how to control it. We were scared, and we felt like we had no one to turn to.” Sean's eyes glaze over as he recalls the harrowing experiences.
“So we ran,” Sean continues. “We left Seattle and started moving south, trying to find a place where we could be safe. We had to lie, steal, and do things I’m not proud of just to survive. But through it all, we’ve had each other.”
Daniel appears in the doorway, having overheard part of the conversation. He steps into the room, looking both nervous and determined. “I’m sorry you had to see that yesterday,” Daniel says, his voice quiet but sincere. “I didn’t mean to scare you.”
You nod, taking in the gravity of their situation. “I can’t imagine how hard it must have been for you two. I’m really sorry for everything you’ve had to go through.”
Daniel gives you a small, appreciative smile. “Do you want to see my powers? I can show you in a less… scary way.”
You hesitate but then nod. “Okay. I think that might help.”
Daniel looks around the room and spots a small, decorative bowl on the coffee table. He focuses on it, his eyes narrowing slightly. Slowly, the bowl rises into the air, hovering gently before floating over to you. He sets it down softly in your lap.
Your breath catches as you watch, a mix of awe and disbelief flooding your senses. “This is… incredible. But I don’t understand how it works. How can this be possible?”
Sean reaches out, taking your hand in his. “We don’t fully understand it either. But we’ve learned to accept it and live with it. Daniel’s powers are a part of who he is.”
You take a deep breath, trying to process everything. “I’m going to need some time to digest all of this. It’s a lot to take in.”
Sean squeezes your hand gently. “Take all the time you need. We’re here for you, and we’ll answer any questions you have.”
Despite the whirlwind of emotions and the mind-bending reality you’ve just been exposed to, you realize that your feelings for Sean and Daniel haven’t changed. If anything, you feel a deeper connection to them now, knowing the struggles they’ve faced and the strength they’ve shown.
“I’m really sorry for everything you two have been through,” you say, your voice filled with genuine compassion. “You didn’t deserve any of that. But I want you to know that I’m here for you. Both of you.”
Sean smiles, relief and gratitude evident in his eyes. “Thank you. That means a lot to us.”
As the conversation winds down, you feel a sense of tentative peace. There are still many questions and uncertainties, but you know one thing for sure: you’re in this together, and that makes all the difference.
After a moment of silence, curiosity starts to bubble up within you. You take a deep breath and decide to ask more questions. “How did you make it past the border? And why did you choose Mexico?”
Sean nods, understanding your need for answers. “It wasn’t easy. We had a lot of close calls, and there were times when I didn’t think we’d make it. We crossed the border with the help of some kind people we met along the way. It was a risky move, but staying in the U.S. wasn’t an option for us. We needed to find somewhere we could start over.”
You listen intently, hanging onto every word. “And why Mexico?”
Sean leans back, glancing at Daniel before answering. “Our dad was originally from Mexico. We thought coming here would give us a better chance to blend in and find some sort of stability. Plus, it felt like a way to reconnect with a part of our heritage. Our journey here wasn’t straightforward, though. We had to adapt and survive in ways we never imagined.”
Daniel chimes in, his voice soft but steady. “We’ve had to keep a low profile, but we’ve also met some amazing people who’ve helped us along the way. Like Mrs. Perez, for example. She’s been like family to us.”
You nod, absorbing their words. “It’s incredible how resilient you both are. It sounds like you’ve been through so much.”
Sean looks at you, his expression earnest. “We have, but we’ve also grown stronger because of it. And now, we have you. That means a lot to us.”
You smile, feeling a mix of emotions—compassion, admiration, and a growing sense of connection. “I’m glad I can be here for you. And I want to help in any way I can.”
Sean’s grip on your hand tightens slightly, his gratitude clear. “Thank you. It feels good to finally share this with someone who understands and doesn’t judge.”
Daniel nods in agreement. “Yeah, it’s been hard keeping this a secret. It’s nice to have someone else we can trust.”
You take a deep breath, feeling the weight of the situation but also a newfound sense of purpose. “Does anyone else know about Daniel’s powers?”
Sean shakes his head. “No one here in Mexico, except for you. Back in the States, a few people found out, but we had to keep moving to stay safe. That’s why it’s so important to keep this a secret.”
“I understand,” you say. “It’s a lot to take in, but I won’t tell anyone. I promise.”
Sean and Daniel both smile, the tension in the room easing. The bond between you grows stronger, forged by honesty and mutual support. You know there will be challenges ahead, but you’re ready to face them together.
The day stretches out before you filled with possibilities and the promise of more shared adventures. The future remains uncertain, but one thing is clear: you and the Diaz brothers are creating something special, one day at a time.
authors note: *jazz hands* SUPRISE!! hihi uhm yes Daniel has telekinesis and this story very much follows the end of the Blood Brother ending :)

Me: indulging a sudden urge to read JDox fic
Me: Heh, looks like something Riona would like
Tumblr media
Me, looking up .5 inches: Oh
Tumblr media
This delighted me. I'm glad to be so recognisable, even on things I wrote… oh, wow, eighteen years ago.
A while ago, my housemate sent me the link to my own Life Is Strange 2/The Last of Us fic, with the message 'I saw this fic and thought of you.' I assumed it was a joke! But no.
Housemate: …I just saw the fandoms, I didn't scroll down far enough to see the author name 😂 Me: INCREDIBLE. You were right to think of me, it turns out! Housemate: I really had thought I'd found someone else who was a LiS2 fan 😂😭😂 Me: I laughed aloud at this. Alas, my tragic solitude remains. Housemate: I'm sorry 😂

everytime I see an lis-verse reference to the Firewalk band I think of the obvious Fire Walk With Me reference and then I think of Laura Palmer's Everything and then I think that this fandom really needs more dad/daughter content.

Sweet Dreams (LIS2 Fic)
Hello! The first chapter of my fic based on the Redemption ending of Life Is Strange 2 is out now on AO3. Here is the link:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/46280575
The preview:
In the grand scheme of the average human lifespan, 15 years isn’t everything, right? Except it felt never-ending for Sean Diaz. He was only 16 years old when he was sentenced, so it was almost the entire span of his life. In 15 years, he went from being a baby to a (somewhat) functioning teenager who could hotwire a car and survive on the run with his kid brother for months.
Based on the Redemption ending of Life Is Strange 2, this is an exploration of both Sean's time in prison and what happens after his sentence is up. This is a story about both trauma and healing.
I hope you enjoy! Feel free to write me on here, AO3 or tumblr. <3

do you like lis2? I've tried to play it so many times and I really love the concept, but no matter what I just can't seem to get into it. I love love love lis, and true colors is one of my favorite games of all time. I even got through all of before the storm!! but for some reason I can't connect to the second game so much and it frustrates me. I was wondering what your thoughts are on all of the games (which I know is a big ask, so you don't have to go too in depth if you don't want) and where you would place lis2 among all of them??
oooh i’ll take any opportunity to talk about lis, but before i say anything, it’s okay if lis2 just isn’t your thing! life is too short to force yourself to finish a game you’re not into :’) anyway here’s my order from favorite to least favorite:
1 - LIFE IS STRANGE
i don’t think any game in this franchise will be able to capture the lightning in a bottle that lis1 was. it came out at a time when there were few story-based games and even fewer games that weren’t targeted specifically to men. the episodic format meant that a large fandom could gather to discuss theories and we had plenty of time to make art, fics, cosplay, etc. which all served to increase hype for the next episode. and i’m not going to talk too much about the story or the characters here because i think we all know how much i love them fjksjds it’s just sooo good. i’ll replay it over and over til the end of time.
2 - LIFE IS STRANGE 2
the reason i love lis2 is because of the strong bond between sean and daniel. i’m a protective older sister and daniel reminds me sooo much of my little brother, so there were some moments that hit me so hard i had to take a breather before i could continue playing. the relationship between them felt SO accurate and real, and the way you can feel their bond shifting over time depending on your choices is so cool. there are 4 unique endings with some of them having different possible variations, so your choices throughout the game matter a lot. it’s definitely a more chill, slower game than the first one, but i feel that the character development makes up for it. sean is my favorite main character of all the lis games; he has such a strong characterization on his own, but is also relatable enough that you can put yourself in his shoes (at least, i could). i love it a lot.
3 - THE AWESOME ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN SPIRIT
yes, i’m counting this as a game. it rocks. i love chris & his voice actor, the game is delightfully adorable with just the right amount of emotion running throughout it, and it’s one of the best portrayals of what it’s like to be a young kid growing up with a parent who is struggling with addiction, depression, and grief. it’s the perfect lead-in to lis2. i’m only putting it this low because it’s short!
4 - TRUE COLORS
this game was.... fine. i really don’t have strong feelings about it. the visuals were stunning, the dialogue was good (it lost a lot of it’s cringey charm though), the characters were pretty strong, and the story had a good concept. unfortunately, it just fell flat for me. the twists were predictable and, most importantly for me, it didn’t make me cry!! :( i’m not itching to replay it anytime soon.
5 - alllllllll the way at the bottom... BEFORE THE STORM
the rest of this is just a huge fucking rant about bts...
i fucking hate this game fjskdjs i hate the dialogue, the voice acting (i’m sorryyyy but why did they NEED to make this game during the voice acting strike?? why did they NEED to make it without ashly burch???), i hate hate hate the story. the story makes NO sense, ignores canon, and even directly contradicts canon in some places. like, why the actual fuck would rachel’s dad be the DISTRICT ATTORNEY but when his daughter goes missing, he doesn’t give a shit? no one is looking for rachel?? nothing about rachel’s parents interested me at all, and it all felt so incredibly unrealistic. in the first game, we were dealing with things like time travel and a local kidnapping ring, but somehow it felt grounded in reality SO MUCH MORE than anything that happens in before the storm.
but my biggest gripe is that bts rachel feels like a completely different person to the rachel we “met” through context clues in the first game. it’s jarring. sure, the romance between rachel and chloe is sweet, but it’s not at ALL the relationship i imagined them to have. in bts, there is no indication that within just a few months, rachel will be cheating on chloe with multiple other people, and planning to leave chloe behind while she goes to california. and look, i’m not trying to slander rachel here. i think she’s super interesting and complex, and i DO think she loved chloe in her own way, but it was definitely not this cute, puppy love, exclusive relationship that bts showed us. there’s just no way.
and WHY did they do that to nathan’s character??? it’s like they were trying to make us feel bad for him by giving him an even more sad backstory, but like.. i already felt bad for him!! his story hits especially hard for me as someone who’s also experienced psychosis many times. it’s fucking terrifying already, let alone when people are trying to manipulate you. nathan was mentally ill and even when he was showing clear signs of deteriorating mental state, everyone just kept covering up his actions and letting him abuse drugs/alcohol. no one noticed him literally being groomed by his older, well-respected teacher and mentor, who was also close with nathan’s father. and at the end of the story, nathan is murdered by his abuser. that’s fucking bleak!! i already feel awful for him!! we didn’t need to see freshman nathan getting bullied and booed off stage and being yelled at by his dad. those were just cheap tricks. i wanted to see an actual exploration into his mental state and everything that led to the events of life is strange. at the very least, they could’ve shown us nathan & rachel’s friendship, or nathan, rachel, victoria, etc. joining the vortex club. we could’ve gotten meaningful character exploration but instead they were like “hey what if nathan was a poor little meow meow?” lmao
i’m not done complaining yet fjskjds after everything that happens in the first game dealing with being drugged, kidnapped, sexual assault, etc. why the actual fuck did bts show a funny quirky scene where victoria gets her tea drugged just so she can’t perform in a school production??? my jaw was on the floor when they played that off like a silly scene. like. wtf.
