Blanket finished!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I altered the pattern (Doo-dad by Hooked on Sunshine) because I felt that stripes would be a little bit less chaotic for a section, and I came up with the last couple rows of the border myself. Pictures as usual cannot do this justice but in the end I am pleased with it. It's slightly bigger than the gradient one!
Blanket number three is on tap! Here are the colors:
Tumblr media
These are washed out, the bottom right colors and the darker teal are darker and more rich. I am currently trying to decide if I want to do a gradient like the first blanket or swap colors like the one that's above.
For completion's sake here is the gradient one:

All the same pattern, all the same yarn type but the colorway differs!
Hilariously of course, it is much more socially acceptable to sit in a group of family members and crochet than it is to write naughty FanFiction. The latter is going to have to wait at least another week!

I never posted my market bag pattern? Huh. The crochet bottom makes it extra sturdy, and you can tuck things into the handle like chapstick or rolled up cash 👍🏻

Since it’s a baby sweater for a coworker, it’s ok to knit on it during work, right?

I put it down for a month to get a lot of plants into the garden and to do some embroidery and some baking, but I'm working on it a little again this week.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I put about two inches of width on it yesterday, and expect I'll do at most another inch today (lots of single crochet and half-double crochet, which don't build bulk very quickly; yesterday was doubles and crossed doubles). But it's June! I'm in no hurry.
Tumblr media
Getting there. This is through all but the last round of the first repeat (which is only sc and so doesn't add much height anyway). It is now two feet across.

Cast on the most boring shawl project I've ever willingly put on the needles twice. The first one turned out so pretty I couldn't resist a larger version. (Ravelry Pattern)
The Original was knit pre this tumblr blog with two different flavours of the 150gram Lion Brand Mandala yarn, the lighter colour being a pastel rainbow and the darker colour was a saturated rainbow. This time I have two of the 300gram Mandala yarns, the lighter is Giant and the darker is Chimera.
I had to gut the Giant to get the colour order mostly similar, but other than that I'm not going to mess with it, if they get wildly off track of eachother I'll just live with it. Hoping since this is mostly mindless knitting (with the regular annoyance that is chevrons) I'll actually like. work on it.

I’ve been awake for over 30 hours and I’m absolutely miserable BUT I finished this baby blanket that I started last year and had to set aside while my back/shoulders were raising hell!
Tumblr media
Pattern is Crochet Chevron Blanket by Daisy Farm Crafts with adjustments for the smaller yarn i used
End wedges were filled in via trial and error
Yarn is Lion Brand Mandala Bonus Bundle in Gnome and for this size, took a little more than a skein and a half using a 3.5mm hook

Working on a winter shawl for one of my beloveds and these colors are so lovely (it's Lion Brand Mandala in color Troll; this is the wrong side so you can focus on the colors instead of the lovely pattern [Secret Paths shawl by Mijo Crochet] texture on the right side)

This happens for crochet and knitting too! I'll love the pattern and then a couple of days in I'll be like, ehh, this isn't that great... and it's THIS:

Your fic is still good, you just built up a tolerance.
i hate how you get desensitized to the cool stuff in your WIP if you've been writing it for a long time so when you read back over it you're like "this isn't as cool as i thought :(" but it still is! you just read it too many times

Since knitting was apparently trending yesterday (?), this is the baby blanket I finished while watching the 2007 BBC Persuasion. It’s for my cousin’s new baby. I still need to weave in the ends and block, but it’s basically done.
Tumblr media
The yarn is one skein Lion Brand Mandala Baby in the Neverland color way, two skeins of Bernat Softee Baby in Flannel, and two different white baby yarns that I already had because I ran out of the first one four white stripes from the end. (Technically, this was all yarn that I already had, but only because during the first wave of Covid I knew so many people who had just had babies or were expecting that I panic-bought baby yarn the first day nonessentials businesses reopened so that I’d have enough if we went back into full lockdown. I’m still working through the stash).
People who know entrelac knitting are looking at the pictures going, “How did you get it so that every row has one side triangle instead of alternating rows that have triangles on each side with rows of only rectangles?” And the answer is that I read the instructions wrong and had a wonky base triangle at the very beginning, but I hid it in the crocheted border

No one will ever know.

This is really hard to photograph! None of these feel like the deep pink in the center is done justice to; it's not as orange red as it appears, and there is a spring green transition to teal that completely escapes my phone camera.
Basically dial the 'pretty' up higher than it is, these are a somewhat lesser version of its true glory (if you can believe that??)!
Pattern is Doo-dad by Hooked on Sunshine, made in Lion Brand Mandala in 'Nifflers' colorway.

Quick Little Tunisian Crochet Purse
I am so stupid proud of this bag. I needed something for my wallet and keys on shopping day, found this pattern, and whipped up something legit from stuff I had lying around. The yarn is Lion Brand mandala yarn in "chi" color way. I'm not psyched with the way mandala works up if you just feed it straight so I like treating them as a three color set and using the Tunisian simple stitch to blend them more subtly. Speaking of, I LOVE TUNISIAN CROCHET. Soft, supple, strong... and supposedly does not unravel when cut. Perfect for garments, blankets, and utility pieces. The button is black plastic, hand painted as a watermelon 🍉 because free Palestine forever, and a Halluci Nation patch is in the mail, winging its way toward me, to be sewn on the back.
I'm so proud because I whipped it up in five days and it's the most functional thing I've made in quite a while that cost me close to zero dollars.
e: it's??? ¿¿¿so fucking cute???

mein gott the fiber arts are completely slept on. a double coated dog and a bone needle are all you need to make something as useful as a bag. probably don't even need the needle, lol. a bunch of reeds are all that is needed to make a basket that can boil water over a fire. straw mats and fishing nets and hats and clothes made of fine bark or hand spun cotton, something from nothing with just your hands and the gifts of God's green earth. shivers.
