where do specialists come from? my theory

i was scrolling on reddit today and i have found a post about specialists. the comments were full of ppl invested in their lives and backstories. one user in particular pointed out that we actually don't know where some of the specialists come from. so i decided to show off my theories. im obviously gonna talk about Riven, Timmy, Nex and Helia since we already know where Sky, Brandon, Nabu and Roy come from. THIS IS MY OPINION/THEORY, FEEL FREE TO DISAGREE

Riven

this man is from Magix. ive read some fanfictions that headcanon him as an inhabitant of some misterious far planet but honestly i disagree with that. your personality doesn't need necessarily to match with your home planet. i think he comes from a poor neighborhood of magix city, probably because of his punk style and the jokes he makes about the prince Sky. i dont even get why some ppl exclude the fact that some of them could come from Magix anyway. it's a planet like the others after all so of course someone is gonna live there

Timmy

this one is pretty complicated. i personally headcanon him as a solarian, mainly because of his slightly tan skin and then his hair reminds me Radius' one. i tend to exclude the theory of him being from zenith since he doesn't speak like tecna (they both talk about technology very often but she uses idioms related to technology, he doesnt), then he doesn't dress up like tecna and finally he doesnt act like her. if we base zenith culture over season 6-7 we discover that ppl tend not to show their emotions on purpose while timmy is more shy than "emotionless" (he even met tecna's parents in season 7 and you can notice the difference between them).

He doesnt come for sure from Magix, or at least from Magix City. in season 1 during the episode of "the day of the rose" we discover timmy isnt at Magix City because he went home so that means that his family doesnt live there...

Nex

idk about this one. since he used to be a paladin and paladin school is on Linphea he could PROBABLY come from there but he doesn't give off linphean vibes. he might be an abroad student. someone headcanons him as andros citizen but if it was true they would have mentioned it like in the case of roy. at this point we'll never know

Helia

he is from Magix as well. his grandpa is literally saladin so they probably all live in Magix. in the comics he was friend with flora since childhood but since it doesnt make sense with the canon (in general comics arent canon) he CANT come from linphea

an realm located in the middle of the rainforest. linphea is well known for its biodiversity, and the genealogical research that its various plants and animals - as well as fairy inhabitants have found. since the 1000s, it has been the most densely populated realm in the otherworld, with solaria coming in second. 

Royal Family:

Queen Teresita - the reigning Queen of Linphea. Went to Alfea in the late 90s. Works to save Linphea's ecosystems.

Princess Lucia - Crown princess of Linphea. Goes to Alfea. Earth fairy, one of Sam Harvey's former classmates.

King Antonio - the late King Consort. Went to Red Fountain. Died shortly after Lucia's birth.

Winx Club Planet Origins

I have ideas for how the planets in Winx Club came to be besides the Great Dragon creating the universe. You know how Stella yells “Solaria” for her first transformation in 1x01? I wondered, what if the other fairies in the Magical Dimension did that too. So I decided to create some headcanons about how the Winx’s planets were created. Cause we know where they are from canonically so it’s easier to build headcanons around them.

Domino was designed meticulously by the Great Dragon and it let its essence deep into its magical core/ heart after it died. This is why guardians of the flame are mainly born on Domino. I headcanon that before he went to sleep, the Dragon chose a family line to keep his power and keep watch on the Magical Dimension. He decreed that whoever holds his flame is to be the guardian of the dimension. After the great witches of the dark killed him, the inhabitants say that you can still feel it’s heat, its essence around sacred areas of Domino. Like the Vortex of Flames which is why the royal family built its castle around it, to be close to the dragon. Now on Domino many believe that they all hold a spark of the flame, that their power is connected to the dragon. So until they find their own battle cries, most fairies choose to invoke the great dragon to give them strength. For example: “by the Power of the Great Dragon, DOMINO LEND YOUR FURY!”

Solaria and Lunaria were created by opposing forces. The Great Dragon and the Water Stars had a fight which resulted in the great sun of solaria, which was created from the Dragon, and the Moons of Lunaria created by the Water Stars. When the Stars left, the dragon molded both planets after the light and sheer power floating around since their fight. He then made them neighbours so that everyone knew of the si and moon. Also to make sure Solaria understood where it came from, the dragon forged the second sun out of the first and gave it to the inhabitants, specifically to one he built to have special connection with it. The second sun is why fairies of Solaria scream “Solaria, Let your suns SHINE” because it’s second sun’s light is what powers their beloved planet.

Linphea is Mother Nature’s real name. After being created by the great Dragon, she went around the universe to spread her magic and nature. She chose planet Linphea as her final resting place and gave her heart to power the planet’s magic. The inhabitants can call on her name to help them transform. “By the great roots of Mother Nature, Linphea, I call on your forces.”

Melody as well as the rest of the Harmonic Nebula, was sung into existence by a nymph of the same name, who was graced with the power of the dragon fire. Legend has it that when you achieve pure harmony in yourself and the world around you, you can still hear the nymph‘s song in Melody’s core. So now, young fairies call on “Sing us a Melody!”

Andros and Zenith were once one planet until a comet separated them both. Let’s focus on Andros first. After the collision, Andros became most water. The dragon decided to populate the waters with mermaids and tasked them to protect the oceans of every world, hence the gates. Since fairies are the guardians of nature, mermaids are the guardians of the oceans. Some mermaids chose to leave the oceans and become land dwellers like those they’ve seen from other planets. But they never forget their origins even after intermingling with other planets. To remember their mermaid origins, the Androsian fairies say “I call on the powers of the mermaid, ANDROS, let your currents roar.”

Zenith terraformed over years and is considered one of the youngest planet in the magical dimension. The planet’s core was built from a material enchanted by magic from other planets. The inhabitants originally came from Andros. Those are are the people who choose to completely deny their mermaid heritage. They eventually brought in other people from the other dimensions which is why they have fairies and other creatures… just enough to be considered a magical planet. Everyone on the planet grew rather ambitious and were eager to prove Zenith as a great planet hence the drive to become the most technologically advanced planet in the magical dimension. They are actually the inspiration for Magix City as they were the first people to converge magic and technology. The inhabitants chose the name Zenith because it means the highest point of power which is what they always aim for—perfection. This is a world that doesn’t follow a type of religion unlike the others which makes them so unique. The fairies that come from this planet call on the core of Zenith to power them up with a simple phrase; may our power reach its ZENITH.

Hello! I never did post it but I've been working on a script for that video for a while and something feels off, so maybe feedback is what I need

Here's the version I have right now. The scale needs to be adjusted so that planet can feel bigger, but most of the major locations are labeled. The vid will talk about them in a bit more detail but some have been explored in prior episodes, like Linphea.

do you have a fancast? like perfect irl people that remind you of florelia (and the rest) not necessarily actors but people in general. tbh it's hard to find the perfect tan girl with green eyes. sometimes it's easy when people aren't in your ear telling you flora is latina bc she might be but it's hard to find latinas with flora's physical traits. and helia to me he's not asian he just has cat eyes. though I have to admit I like it when in fics people say helia and musa are cousins.

okay there is a lot to unpack here.

First of all, no, I actually don't have the perfect fancast for Florelia or any of the Winx characters really and its not something that really bothers me. I don't want a live action (not everything needs to be made live) or a reboot, I want them to fix the mistakes they've done in the actual show and bring back quality content.

Secondly, I am that person in your ear telling you Flora is a Latina and that Helia is Asian.

Not because she might be, but because it has been explicitly said since forever that Iginio was inspired by Jennifer Lopez when creating Flora. The WHOLE POINT of the characters Musa, Aisha and Flora being designed the way they were was to include diversity.

The proof is coming out with the original designs for Musa and Flora where they are both clearly white. What other reason would Iginio have to change their features and the colors of their skin if it wasn't to be inclusive? And what is wrong with him doing that?

When people say Flora is Latina they obviously don't mean she is a Latina, Puerto Rican girl living in an alien world. Her character is inspired by a Latina woman. Hence, her features and skintone (when doing art or fancast) and possible stereotypes (when making hcs or writing fanfics) need to be taken into account.

When you say it's hard to find Latina's with Flora's traits, it's not because Flora's not a Latina or girls who look like her don't exist, it's because there is not enough representation of darker skinned Latinas. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT. Especially if you're looking for it on pinterest, like you search girlhood in there and all you get are white girls?? Where the hell are the rest of us?

Also Flora having green eyes is directly related to the fact that she is the Fairy of Nature (they literally glow when she powers up) but that doesn't mean Latinas can't have green eyes. One simple google search will show you.

You can argue for Linphea since it doesn't look like Puerto Rico but it also a realm of Nature and that doesn't leave as much room for them to work with as they got to with Musa and Melody (even that has its issues of lumping in all the different cultures) and lets be honest we barely got a glimpse into Linphea's actual culture as it was.

Then we have Helia. Yes his character wasn't explicitly said to be Asian. But his design doesn't leave much doubt, especially the moment someone points it out. His features are inspired by East Asian features, he shares similar design characteristics to Musa and other asian characters.

The fact that you said he just has cat eyes already proves how you view Asian features. And also the fact that you identify he has Asian features but don't want him to be Asian is because of whatever prejudice you are holding onto.

The joke is so fucking old, it was never, ever funny.

Also I want to pose this question to everyone, not this person since they didn't say they think he's white. Why is it that if a light-skinned character's inspiration isn't explicitly stated, they are just by default white?

And anyone pointing out the possibility of them being otherwise makes people think they have the free-reign to just to ignore because the character is light-skinned?

When Helia's background is left for interpretation it makes more sense to explore the hundreds of Asian cultures that exist instead of ignoring all of that and jumping straight to him being white. Like there are East Asians and there are Southeast Asians and no these aren't just two cultures they are a number of different countries with different cultures.

I am South Asian. No, I do not look like Helia or Musa, I look like Nabu.

Hell, I thought Flora was Indian and Helia was white when I was NINE. It took one person casually pointing out "hey they're not" to realise oh ya they actually aren't.

I don't know if this was a targeted ask because I have posted in this account about how i find the Helia and Musa being cousins hcs uncomfortable.

But yeah, I find it uncomfortable because where I'm from (I can't speak for every single Asian country though I don't think this is an isolated experience) it is a joke to ask any new Asian person you meet if they are related or if they know this other Asian person that you know. Again it's an old joke, it's not that funny, it never was.

It is also a joke to say yeah all Asians are related, or they all cousins. It may seem harmless, but I'd say it has deeper roots of incest accusations/stereotypes like marrying your cousin or whatever. Even if I'm wrong about that (if i am please someone who is a poc correct me, white people shut up), it's still a stereotype you are perpetuating. (and no I'm not just talking about older fanfics that were probably written by 11 year olds where everyone is always related, i'm talking about the ones written by adults.)

Why is it never Sky and Stella being cousins? Or Riven and Tecna? They have similar features. Why not them? Why is it always only Musa and Helia?

But that just brings us back to you saying you don't think Helia's Asian. Musa is clearly Asian (if you're going to say she's not then you are just plain ignorant). But, Musa's Asian and her "cousin" Helia just has cat eyes ???If you like that hc then why can’t you accept that he is clearly Asian?

Before white people get defensive about poc calling out racism that you claim isn't intentional, stop and think WHY. It has been said time and time again, racism is not always inherently overt or 100% intentional. It can come out in even as something as 'small' or 'not as serious' as cartoon characters. But it is serious because we poc exist in these spaces too.

Also you can be POC and still be racist. Funnily enough, that was the very first direct interaction of racism I experienced in this fandom. That also does not mean white people get a pass (it's sad I even have to add that as a disclaimer)

Okay I would love to live on Linphea I won’t lie

It’s literally full of lush forests, gardens and all things green!

It’s also quite warm due to their being a variety of plants everywhere!

Linphea is mainly spread across a bunch of towns and cities with some small villages on the outskirts

They live high up, meaning there are lots of bridges connecting towns and cities together!

You have it’s capital city Gaia which is home to the largest hill Linphea has!

It’s called Oakland hill (it’s where linphean’s tend to have their wedding ceremonies)

Linphea, much like domino is also a very creature populated planet

But most of these creatures are more related to it’s dense green-lands instead of the warmth of dragons

You have the grass serpents, ivy wolves, the treants and much more!

Linphean’s tend to connect with plants much easier then others, take flora she has her venus mcflytrap as a guardian

They bond with certain plants and flower depending on their hearts!

This means when it comes to harvest time they can get it done much quicker then the average fairy or paladin

Harvest time comes with lots of food and fresh produce, Linphea is one of the biggest producers of fruit and veg hence why their trade roots connect almost everywhere in the magic dimension

Most Liphean’s either study to become botanists or biologists if they aren’t hoping to become fairies or paladins

Linphea breeds the smart cookies much like Zenith

Harvest festival

After the harvests before the winter Linphean’s will usually celebrate according to how successful it was

This means that the bigger the harvest, the bigger the celebration (it’s usually a huge party I won’t lie)

Blooming festival

Usually celebrated during spring when everything starts to grown again

Think parades and bonnets, it’s a pastel affair and also mainly when love starts to bloom too!

Weekly event, there’s balls, big dinners with everyone you live near

It’s a huge affair for Linphean’s

Turning Fest

Mostly celebrated at the start of autumn when everything starts to die

Linphean’s believe that when everything dies it’s a chance for a fresh start and they celebrate this

Linphea

Linphea is very closely connected to its nature, which shows through the abundance of magical plant and animal life it has over other realms in the Magic Dimension. The inhabitants of Linphea live their lives maintaining a close connection with the nature around them to preserve its beauty and show their respect.

The people of Linphea are very connected to nature and live high up within the trees. Due to living up so high, the people of Linphea seem to lack fear of intense heights and skip across a thin, shaky, woven bridge of vines and flowers with ease.

There also exists a Council of Ancients on Linphea, along with their monarchy.

Crown Princess Krystal, as well as her mother, Queen Rachel, are introduced as the monarchs of Linphea, and are seen at the Domino Royal Palace once it comes time to discuss over methods of defeating Tritannus.

Fauna

Linphea is notable for having giant ladybugs which people often use for transportation. The oceans of Linphea contain some fish as well as the Bollabies and there lies an Ocean Gate connecting Linphea to Andros that is guarded by a Selkie named Desiryee.

Flora

Linphea is home to many flowers and plants that can also be found on other planets. The people of Linphea often use some of the plants for traveling, casting spells and creating potions among other things within their daily routine. One of the most notable plants is the Black Willow, which can turn back time if someone touches the water it produces. Its magic also makes the waterfall located outside its cave run upwards.

In the oceans of Linphea resides the Flower of the Depths, which holds the answers to the Gem of Courage: one-third of the Sirenix Quest that all fairies seeking to achieve Sirenix must go through. According to Desiryee, the ocean plants become increasingly wilder and more ferocious the deeper one dives down. The oceans also have carnivorous plants.

I was thinking about birthday traditions between the planets and while I think birthday's are one of the few celebrations Zenith has, it's a very low key thing and Tecna's family never celebrated with her so she's confused about what all this is about lololol

Paladins train for wars but Specialists train for smaller missions lmao. Also Paladins use elemental based weapons but Specialists use technology based weapons 😀

The ones who started this thing were Nex and a few others that got really mad at the fact that the beloved Prince of Eraklyon (the one that did not get banned from the first monarchy for something they didn't do AKA Sky) chose to become a specialist. They think he's a coward.
