I don’t stop until we’re a few blocks away. My legs threatened to collapse under me and my lungs are about to burst, but we’re safe and that’s all that matters right now. Anfisa is gasping in air next to me. That was too close. A crackle comes over the bluetooth headset.

On one end flanking the empty seats, there’s a guy with his head buried in a book, quietly sneaking some grapes from under the table. On the other side, there’s a girl with bright ginger hair tied into a high ponytail who's pouring some sugar packets into a tall pink tumbler. Feminism wins, I suppose, and I take the seat nearest the girl. She looks friendly enough.

There’s a hole in Llyn.

It’s a rather large hole, and a rather deep hole. The people of Llyn say they can hear voices coming from it but it’s been barricaded up since it appeared three years ago.

I’m pretty sure it’s the reason my aunt died.

Happy STS! Tell me about the fathers in your work. Do you notice recurring themes in them? What are some of your OCs relationships with their dads?

Well a current theme is that they don’t exist

I suppose Finnigan (the kindly Irish-Nigerian fisherman who takes in Beth and her friends) counts as a father figure, but none of the SOLE Gang actually know their biological fathers.

Also, it’s not plot relevant, so I don’t know anything about them either.

Both of Ash’s parents are missing-presumed-dead, and while Zach’s father is still around I haven’t spent time developing his family yet so I have no info there.

And Nora hasn’t come out to her parents and doesn’t live with them anymore, so I haven’t thought about them either.

As much as “writer with daddy issues” is a trope, I’m starting to see where people get it from lmao

Happy Tender Tuesday! (I couldn't send this to your writeblr?) Tell me how your OCs cope with unrequited love. How do they channel their affections when their crush doesn't reciprocate?

this is a funny one because the whole book is a dumpster fire of mutual pining, but they don’t all know it. So under the assumption that their love may be unrequited, they uhh, just fucking Suffer

no but for real I don’t know. The same as anyone I guess; try and make their feelings known without actually being Obvious and Lame about it while watching for the tiniest hints that maybe the other person feels the same. 

sagittarius is an outlier because even if he’s sure someone doesn’t feel the same way about him he’s still a flirt, but it’s really not personal at that point - he’s just like that.

My very very first (that I can remember) was a self insert made to “fix” the end of the Susan Cooper’s The Dark Is Rising series. I wasn’t satisfied with the magic-kids-now-live-mundane-lives trope, so I made myself into a super magical kid that gave all the other kids their powers back and I married both the boy protags because apparently I’ve been polyam since before I even knew about dating XD

Hey, Pie! And Happy STS :) For any of your WIPs, has there ever been a major war? If so, what was it fought over? Who won? How does the outcome affect your characters today?

Hi! Thank you and to you too!

There aren’t any wars in the history of my WIPs! There might have been, but then they were irrelevant enough for me to not think about them. The only war is the very very weird one going on in The Five Senses. But it’s fought more behind the scenes! It’s neatly tied to the plot, so outcome and how it affects the characters are all part of the story!

Daydreams

Sycamore: Meeting humans! She has so many questions about those strange, featherless creatures. If a human could just appear in her village for her to befriend, wouldn’t that be great?

Prince Alastair: A peaceful future where his people are happy, his responsibilities are taken care of, and he can finally relax.

Acacia: Her daydreams are just... dramatic action sequences of her being a badass heroine. Sadly, she hasn’t found a moustache-twirling supervillain to bring her dreams to reality.

Memories of the Past

The first time Sycamore saw the poppy fields of Alastair’s homeland, she was overcome with a strange emotion. Something happened in that very field, a memory just out of reach.

Alastair often listens to the antique music box in his room. Age has taken a toll on the little contraption, but the familiar melody reminds him of someone who was close to him.

For Acacia, seeing Sycamore’s naive reactions to the human world remind her of her own beginnings.

Happy FAF (very late, sorry!) This week, your OCs are on Hell's Kitchen. Gordon Ramsay is literally breathing down their necks. What are they cooking, and what does he have to say about it? How do they respond?

Good day or evening. If you’re very late then I’m totally late. 

I love this question. I watched Hell’s Kitchen when I was a kid.

 But I take WIP: A Mask of A Thief now.

Ezio has a radial smile and he will cook a desert side. He make his famous macarons but also the fresh strawberries with chocolate sauce, the cookie crumbs and a whipped cream with the real vanilja. Did he mention that everything has done himself?

Ramsay sees his cockiness but also, he clearly know how make macarons and desert. I guess that he will grill him especially remind the importance of dinner in the restaurants. But in the end: “But you know how make desert especially the macarons. Good work”

Mirabella knows that she cannot win Ezio about deserts but dinner will work. She is very nervous but hide it under the serious face. The shrimps with the fresh pasta and own secret sauce (secret is homesteaded honey and soy with a spices). Because of nervous, she lost the time and needed to leave own baked bread out. 

Ramsay loves the sauce but notice that she doesn’t make the bread. He questioned Mirabella ability work in the professional kitchen because stay the time is important or whole kitchen fall apart: “I know that you can do better and this sauce proves it but now, prove it to me this evening.”

Thief. Cooking isn’t their strength and it shows. They try to do own french friesh but it’s a bit too long in the oven and it tastes. Their broiler is a bit left raw because time left middle (damn, orange). 

Ramsay walked their behind and Thief had so nervous because they hadn’t their field. Ramsay: “I don’t know how the hell you stay alive this food.”

alskdjfakldj omg I have some amazing fathers T_T perhaps because mine was such shit. :x

So, Marcus Bovington (father of Luka, Gabi and Anja in the au and quintuplets in the ou) is an amazing, attentive sweet father who just wants to spoil his family and make sure they know how loved they are. He’d be that father that says I love you every time his kiddos leave the house (just because you never know what’ll happen) to the point it drives his kids crazy.

Kyle is the one that financially spoils the shit out of his kids and spoils them with food. Since he can’t eat himself, they have to act as guinea pigs to the food he cooks, but he is a fantastic cook for the fact that he can’t try it as he makes it. He also loves taking them out for ice cream. xD

Sam’s father abandoned him when he was a kiddo.

Kyle’s father tried to have him killed for being half vampire since... vampires and werewolves are natural-born enemies... so yeah.

In Same Sky, until now, is that one:  “She had big, round, blue eyes, brilliantly blue. Deep, electric, that had a perfect contrast of deep dark brown skin; as if they were an independent light source like the stars in the sky.”

15. Why physical quirks do your characters tend to have? Eyebrow raising, picking nails, biting lips, pacing, crossing arms, etc.

Dayan, every time he gets nervous, rubs his neck or plays a little with his hair up. Adara always, always, sits cross-legged and shakes hands when she is excited or nervous.
