With a groan that was more of a shout, Marinette chucked her textbook across the deck. Luka looked up from where he was fiddling with...she forgot what exactly he had said the instrument was. Something for his Ethnomusicology class that was long and thin with too many holes and working parts. She was pretty sure Dingo had brought it home from his last family vacation.

"What now?" he asked, chuckling.

"I need to pass this class to get my degree," she said, tipping her head up from where she had dropped it against the mast. "I don't get my degree, I can't be a fashion designer. But I'm not going to get my degree or become a designer if I don't pass this stupid class, and I'm not going to pass this stupid class as long as I have to read stupid books like this!"

Luka chuckled and, with a knowing smirk, dared to ask: "What word is he over-misusing now?"

Because it wasn't the first time he'd had to fish the textbook out of the river, and he doubted it would be the last.

She slumped back in her chair, her head hitting the mast with a thunk.

"...svelte," she grumbled. He blinked.

"...isn't that an actual fashion word though?" he asked, frowning. "I know I've heard you use it to describe Juleka's silhouette."

She raised her head again and glared.

"Not when you sveltily do so," she said, and when he fell back off his crate laughing she decided to flip him off.
