setting a reminder for myself for when i have the time. explained the implications of lily in re john's humanization arc to my college sibling Scotty and they asked me if John's tears out of Arthur's eyes were bright gold. i will draw this as soon as i have the time, hell or high water. have i drawn anything in the last year and a half? absolutely not. will i make this my personal mission because i'm obsessed with the concept of a physical manifestation of empathy? absolutely.
they also headcanon Cain (is it kayne? i keep seeing it spelled Kayne but personally i like Cain better) as like three foot five. which. simultaneously yes and no

Saturnians Who Love Animals 🦆🦀🐟🐂🐒🐼🐱🦊🦁🙀
In my first post about Saturnians, I had included examples of several Saturnian individuals who were known for abusing animals. It is a very sensitive topic and I did not intend to say that it is the nature of Saturn to abuse animals, only that it's one of the violent, brutal "dark" or "negative" manifestations of the planet. Claire's research had shown that Ketu ruled naks were most prominent among serial killers but that does not mean every Ketuvian is a potential criminal. Every planet and nakshatra has good and bad manifestations. The same qualities can be projected differently by different individuals. Saturn causes delay and obstructions, some pay turn to devotion and discipline in the face of it and others may turn cold, cruel and bitter. How you manifest your chart depends on what is in your heart as a human being.
All that said, I thought I'd include examples of some Saturnians who are complete animal lovers<333

The Flower Moon Talon Abraxas
Flower Moon Meaning
The Flower Moon’s name isn’t much of a mystery given the time of year it graces the sky. Gardens and landscapes are in full bloom with perennials such as primrose, bleeding heart, bloodroot, iris, violet, hellebore, peony, et cetera; flower trees such as pear, crape myrtle, crabapple, magnolia, redbud, dogwood, and others; and spring bulbs including bluebell, hyacinth, lily of the valley, tulip, daffodil, crocus, and more.
As for the May full moon’s other names, this is the time of year when the tribes and farmers plant corn. The frogs are singing their mating songs, and milk-producing livestock such as sheep, goats, and cows now have lush green pastures to fill their bellies and produce more milk.
Flower Moon Spiritual Meaning
The May full moon embodies the spirit of Beltane and all the energy of new life, passion, fire, and rebirth. It brings creativity, inspiration, and a sense of purpose with it.
The Flower Moon in May is a spiritual reminder that our goals should be manifesting. This is the blooming season, but it’s also the planting season. Tap into the energy for growth and fertility. Take some time to think about your intentions and what needs to be done in order to reach your goals come harvest season. This may mean asking yourself some hard questions and reevaluating your priorities and plans.
Don’t feel overwhelmed if you feel like the goals you set at the beginning of the year are still far away. We can’t magically leap to the top of the staircase in a single jump; the journey happens one step at a time. If you feel like you aren’t progressing, take a moment to focus. What do you need to prioritize? What is the next step forward that needs to be taken? What is holding you back (and therefore needs to be released)?
Let the spiritual energy of the Flower Moon inspire you to continue growing, even though it comes with a reminder that we can’t move forward until we let go of what’s inhibiting our ability to fully blossom.
Flower Moon Altar Tips, Colors, & Crystals
The most common altar colors for the Flower Moon are yellow, red, orange, and green. Freshly cut flowers make a perfect altar decoration.
In fact, you can go even further and find many more ways to incorporate flowers on this special night. Arrange them in vases to decorate your home. Integrate them into your tea and cooking. Add them to your bath. Press blossoms that you can later use in your book of shadows, journal, artwork, or even a thoughtful surprise tucked in a card for a loved one.
Crystals that work well with the Flower Moon include:
Moonstone – new beginnings, fertility, intuition, lunar/feminine energy
Selenite – purification, cleansing, protection, a symbol of light, ties to the moon
Labradorite – connect with the psyche, dreams, creative muses, spiritual awakening
Amethyst – spiritual protection, insight, self-reflection, shadow work
Rose Quartz – love, friendship, romance, self-love
Rhodonite – “stone of love,” passion, fertility, grounding energy, healing emotional scars
Flower Agate – new beginnings, self-growth, restores emotional balance
Moss Agate – restoration, healing, rebirth, a connection with earth and plants
Black Tourmaline – strength, stabilization, grounding, alleviating fear (onyx and obsidian are also good alternatives)
Smoky quartz – grounding, emotional calmness, stress relief
Clear quartz – healing, peace, cleansing the mind and aura, divination

As you can see I've colour coded the sets by game. NL is pink, NH is blue, and sets that didn't really change between games are purple.
For the redesign matches, it was an even split between NH and NL. out of 10 redesign matches, they each won 5.
It's easier for me if all the new polls post in a row with no gaps between, so round 2 will start in a few days to give the hourly tournament a chance to catch up! This should be the only round where I have to do that.

An Island
I
My dream is of an island-place Which distant seas keep lonely, A little island on whose face The stars are watchers only: Those bright still stars! they need not seem Brighter or stiller in my dream.
II
An island full of hills and dells, All rumpled and uneven With green recesses, sudden swells, And odorous valleys driven So deep and straight that always there The wind is cradled to soft air.
III
Hills running up to heaven for light Through woods that half-way ran, As if the wild earth mimicked right The wilder heart of man: Only it shall be greener far And gladder than hearts ever are.
IV
More like, perhaps, that mountain piece Of Dante's paradise, Disrupt to an hundred hills like these, In falling from the skies; Bringing within it, all the roots Of heavenly trees and flowers and fruits:
V
For—saving where the grey rocks strike Their javelins up the azure, Or where deep fissures miser-like Hoard up some fountain treasure, (And e'en in them, stoop down and hear, Leaf sounds with water in your ear,—)
VI
The place is all awave with trees, Limes, myrtles purple-beaded, Acacias having drunk the lees Of the night-dew, faint-headed, And wan grey olive-woods which seem The fittest foliage for a dream.
VII
Trees, trees on all sides! they combine Their plumy shades to throw, Through whose clear fruit and blossom fine Whene'er the sun may go, The ground beneath he deeply stains, As passing through cathedral panes.
VIII
But little needs this earth of ours That shining from above her, When many Pleiades of flowers (Not one lost) star her over, The rays of their unnumbered hues Being all refracted by the dews.
IX
Wide-petalled plants that boldly drink The Amreeta of the sky, Shut bells that dull with rapture sink, And lolling buds, half shy; I cannot count them, but between Is room for grass and mosses green,
X
And brooks, that glass in different strengths All colours in disorder, Or, gathering up their silver lengths Beside their winding border, Sleep, haunted through the slumber hidden, By lilies white as dreams in Eden.
XI
Nor think each archèd tree with each Too closely interlaces To admit of vistas out of reach, And broad moon-lighted places Upon whose sward the antlered deer May view their double image clear.
XII
For all this island's creature-full, (Kept happy not by halves) Mild cows, that at the vine-wreaths pull, Then low back at their calves With tender lowings, to approve The warm mouths milking them for love.
XIII
Free gamesome horses, antelopes, And harmless leaping leopards, And buffaloes upon the slopes, And sheep unruled by shepherds: Hares, lizards, hedgehogs, badgers, mice, Snakes, squirrels, frogs, and butterflies.
XIV
And birds that live there in a crowd, Horned owls, rapt nightingales, Larks bold with heaven, and peacocks proud, Self-sphered in those grand tails; All creatures glad and safe, I deem No guns nor springes in my dream!
XV
The island's edges are a-wing With trees that overbranch The sea with song-birds welcoming The curlews to green change; And doves from half-closed lids espy The red and purple fish go by.
XVI
One dove is answering in trust The water every minute, Thinking so soft a murmur must Have her mate's cooing in it: So softly doth earth's beauty round Infuse itself in ocean's sound.
XVII
My sanguine soul bounds forwarder To meet the bounding waves; Beside them straightway I repair, To live within the caves: And near me two or three may dwell Whom dreams fantastic please as well.
XVIII
Long winding caverns, glittering far Into a crystal distance! Through clefts of which shall many a star Shine clear without resistance, And carry down its rays the smell Of flowers above invisible.
XIX
I said that two or three might choose Their dwelling near mine own: Those who would change man's voice and use, For Nature's way and tone— Man's veering heart and careless eyes, For Nature's steadfast sympathies.
XX
Ourselves, to meet her faithfulness, Shall play a faithful part; Her beautiful shall ne'er address The monstrous at our heart: Her musical shall ever touch Something within us also such.
XXI
Yet shall she not our mistress live, As doth the moon of ocean, Though gently as the moon she give Our thoughts a light and motion: More like a harp of many lays, Moving its master while he plays.
XXII
No sod in all that island doth Yawn open for the dead; No wind hath borne a traitor's oath; No earth, a mourner's tread; We cannot say by stream or shade, "I suffered here,—was here betrayed."
XXIII
Our only "farewell" we shall laugh To shifting cloud or hour, And use our only epitaph To some bud turned a flower: Our only tears shall serve to prove Excess in pleasure or in love.
XXIV
Our fancies shall their plumage catch From fairest island-birds, Whose eggs let young ones out at hatch, Born singing! then our words Unconsciously shall take the dyes Of those prodigious fantasies.
XXV
Yea, soon, no consonant unsmooth Our smile-tuned lips shall reach; Sounds sweet as Hellas spake in youth Shall glide into our speech: (What music, certes, can you find As soft as voices which are kind?)
XXVI
And often, by the joy without And in us, overcome, We, through our musing, shall let float Such poems,—sitting dumb,— As Pindar might have writ if he Had tended sheep in Arcady;
XXVII
Or Æschylus—the pleasant fields He died in, longer knowing; Or Homer, had men's sins and shields Been lost in Meles flowing; Or Poet Plato, had the undim Unsetting Godlight broke on him.
XXVIII
Choose me the cave most worthy choice, To make a place for prayer, And I will choose a praying voice To pour our spirits there: How silverly the echoes run! Thy will be done,—thy will be done.
XXIX
Gently yet strangely uttered words! They lift me from my dream; The island fadeth with its swards That did no more than seem: The streams are dry, no sun could find— The fruits are fallen, without wind.
XXX
So oft the doing of God's will Our foolish wills undoeth! And yet what idle dream breaks ill, Which morning-light subdueth? And who would murmur and misdoubt, When God's great sunrise finds him out?

Week 8 - Roll of 36
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These photos were taken in Kaukapakapa, Helensville and Dairy Flat. My photos combine nature which manmade structures such as lilies growing through stairs, and moss overcoming a roof which makes me think of how rougher and dirtier it is in the country side, which is a great thing. It doesn't need to look pretty to get the job done and I loved that as my upbringing, it encouraged us to get outside and enjoy ourselves rather than worrying about our appearance. I took photos of the livestock such as sheep, cows and chickens as my family used to own these animals back on our farm and it felt nostalgic to be around them again. These towns are very quiet and do not have a lot actively going on like the city does and so taking photos on the train tracks and standing in the middle of the road was something that I appreciated. These kind of opportunities just aren't available in busy places because we as a photographer would be an interference rather than a benefit. I will post my selection from this week as there are a lot of photos in this contact sheet.
