January the 20th is Atomian Sylveon Day! ⚜️🩵🎀💐✨

why today? because this is the date I first designed her on a whim in 2022, and exactly a year later I happened to finish her most iconic (so far!) illustration. I thought the coincidence was so fateful! 🌟 Atomian Sylveon has been my gorgeous and inspirational Pokésona for 3 years now, and I think that’s well worth celebrating 💝✨

by chance- . . perhaps, was Lily based off Betty Boop (maybe Mavis from hotel transylvania?) at all? Maybe I'm crazy, but whenever i see her i just get deja vu, ya know? (Side note: she's absolutely precious. Here are two dozen blood soaked velvet cookies for her: 🫵🏼🍪🩸)

When I create a character, I don't intentionally based them off another character, But it's undeniable that my brain still makes the connection with similar characters and designs to help make good design decisions

Betty Boop is a character I really love design wise and also which correlates with the time Lily was living in before the coffin so I might have taken a bit of it, especially for the hair curls and the full black lips. Mavis is not an inspiration to me (but maybe is a bit for Lily's human form?), but is also a cute vampire girl with short hair so the comparison is inevitable. But what's interesting to me is her cheerful personality for a vampire which I also wanted for Lily !
