The cold dragged it's self around you almost trying to grip its pinpricks of cold onto you trying to stop you as you head walked the cold hard floor your head seeping it's substances out.

Your fingers glided across the keyboard of your computer that had clearly been through alot it's heat radiating onto your pale face its white rectangular square projecting on your face. It was midnight and no matter how many times you threw your body side to side you could never drift of into a calm soft hug of sleep so you googled.

Into the search bar expecting to stomach the gutted feeling of no answer your eyes inspected a single shady link.

You said your crocky and dry voice yearning for water it was almost strange hearing your voice echoing around an empty room. Grabbing the mouse it's slightly textured outer armor tickling your weirdly cold hand as you clicked the shady site expecting a scam from some random person. Before a pink rectangle highlighted your face a sudden change alerting your mostly half-asleep mind and body.A plain pink background. red lettering in bold immediately grabbing your lazy eyes and soft shiver softly griping your back almost in comforting way?Carefully spoken words breathed there salvations and promises into your ear.

It was everything you had ever wanted. Your hope dug it's fingers sharply piercing a cold heart that had been yearning for and end to this. It immediately spread its hopeful warmth graciously promises of everlasting hope and bliss with a single click a huge pit immediately ripped off the hope that had been almost certain of staying leaving marks on your heart it's pain and anxiety leaked out of it consuming you whole. What an idiot you are it's 3AM and your wagering your hopes and dreams on a shady website? Had the lack of sleep finally grabbed its frozen clutches on your delipitated body and mind of course it had the pit in stomach dragged you down of course! Of course! There is never a choice for where mortals arrive to once leaving the living world, their destinations dependent on both the good and bad of the deeds committed throughout the course of time spent on Earth. 

You are either a kind and friendly citizen who aims for his goals fairly and believes in doing the right thing, or a sleazy and cunning scumbag who finds selfish pleasure in the suffering of others as they cheat their way to success. Human beings are creatures with positive and negative aspects, in which they can show to the public and reveal a person’s true colors. 

A living soul’s actions can be outweighed when it involves whether they chose to help others or put them in harm’s way. The most sinister of misdeeds done at any point in a lifetime might even have already set their fate in solid stone, unable to be changed nor to be restored to its purest. It’s the sad truth indeed, and we can just accept it as that. 

Spirits who find salvation at I.M.P are not just sinners, but rather sinners with unfinished business. According to the ad for the company, the long-curvy horned imp named Blitzø specified that their clients are either horrendous people who want someone dead for their own personal pleasure, or rather souls that got screwed over by another and sending them here to Hell.

Today, their latest client was proof of the latter factor.

Mrs. Mayberry, a joyous school teacher that taught kids ages 6 - 9. One day while she was singing along with the children in her room, she was reminded that it was her husband’s birthday at the time. But as she was calling her husband via her computer, she found out a shocking secret in her bedroom: Her own husband was cheating on her with another woman. She recalled hearing the sexual moans of pleasure and lust heard from both the room and the computer. The teacher widened with fury over her husband’s betrayal, rage boiling through her bursting veins like a volcanic eruption. Her hot-headed emotions remained to get the best of Mrs. Mayberry, as she decided what she believed was the only solution to her problem.

Sometimes you need to read something twice to get it. You might need to watch a movie three times to understand it. You might have to have that album on repeat for a week until the lyrics make any sense. You're allowed to engage with it and can keep engaging with it until it means something to you. People will see a painting at a museum and laugh about not getting what the big deal is but like you can come back, you can see it at another time, and maybe that next time it'll be different for you. I'm of the belief the "media literacy crisis" would solve itself if more people just sat down and did it again. Watched, read, played, listened, etc like I don't think people are getting more ignorant necessarily I just think we're not glorifying personally replaying things nearly as much as we should be.

The final TF2 issue really got to me. Spoilers, but it’s the reveal that all of this suffering and murder and war over gravel and shitty land was for nothing but senseless, bottomless hatred. That the administrator can’t even remember where this revenge plot started as she flashes through different false memories of her parents’ deaths. There was never a tragic backstory or justification, only terrible people doing despicable things. And despite how crass and stupid and unserious TF2 is, the story subverts every expectation by showing the survivors and inheritors willingly breaking the cycle. Ms. Pauling lies to the administrator and chooses not to save her, and finally lets her die. (Hurts even more if you read into the subtext that Ms. Pauling is in love with the administrator.) She lets the final cache of Australium go and walks away from the burden and legacy of a century-old bloodfeud. Hale lets Gray’s daughter go and live her life freely. Spy is the first to arrive at Scout’s house and meet his big family, finally takes off his mask, and helps with the kids. Even Merasmus exhaustedly makes peace with himself and Soldier and chooses not to curse him or something. There’s nothing to finish, no promises to keep, and no one to avenge. The only thing to do is break the cycle and walk away.

It feels odd how happy and warm everything is, but it feels so right and earned. These bloodthirsty, awful, violent men were expendable cogs in a machine of endless violence, and they found a way out. It’s a genuinely great message about letting go the past that burdens you and finding the will and a way to hit the bricks, change, and be happy. Maybe they don’t technically deserve happiness, but they’ve got it nonetheless, and they’re not gonna let it go to waste. They’re still all crazy and violent, but on their own terms now and with people who love them! Smiles.
