Randomized One Word Prompt: Strike

“Listen, you don’t want to do this.” Sam tried to talk down the blue-haired girl. He hovered in mid-air, edging closer to her.

“You stay back!” Cursed Cass screamed, jumping away from him. Her hand tightened around the detonator of the bomb strapped to her. All of the Champions backed off immediately.

Might laughed loudly from the sidelines, “You’re gonna let her win, just like that? Cowards.”

“We’re in a crowded metropolitan area.” Amadeus warned, “There are innocent people who will die if you do that. Please, just let this go, and put down the bomb.”

All around them, people were starting to gather at what they imagined to be a safe distance, whispering to each other and pulling out phones to film the altercation. Kamala shifted uneasily, the weight of the world’s gaze on her shoulders. The Freelancers had a way of operating that always ended up with the Champions coming out of it looking like assholes.

And it pissed her off to no end.

The other Freelancers didn’t look the least bit concerned, because of course they didn’t. They had been flown here from California. They didn’t have to commute to work and school. They didn’t rely on the trains to keep running. They wouldn’t be affected at all when this place was thrown into disarray.

“Come on, Cass! Finish the job so we can head back home!” Hotness yelled.

“We’ll stop you. But we don’t want it to come to that.” Miles told them carefully. He was bluffing. These guys had them up against the wall and everyone knew it.

While Cass had a detonator for the bombs on her body, the whole thing was actually just a trigger for the bigger explosion rigged around the bridge. Viv was working hard to secretly disconnect the contraption so that the worst of the damage didn’t happen, but until then, they had to stall. No matter what. Even if she just really, really, really wanted to bash their faces in.

“Do it, do it, do it…” Panic began to lead the chant, and the other Freelancers followed along, gleeful for bloodshed.

A vein pulsed in her temple. And Kamala stopped reasoning with them.

Her fist launched forward at a speed which she normally couldn’t reach, knocking the detonator out of Cass’s hands, and expanding her fist to throw Cass to the ground.

One fell swing to the side, and the other Freelancers were ploughed over too.

She was seeing red. Wanted to bash their heads in and bring them to justice. But she couldn’t. She had made a vow, and she had to stand by it.

So, Kamala glowered at them, and let that single strike speak for itself. The others were stunned for a few moments, before rushing to apprehend Might and Cass, the only ones still conscious after the attack.

“Sheesh, didn’t expect her to Hulk out, of all people.” Amadeus shuddered, “That was terrifying as fuck.”

“What about the plan?” Scott asked, looking between Kamala and Viv, who materialized in front of them.

“Fuck the plan.” Kamala growled, biting back the urge to scream like a child, “I hate these guys.”

It's so funny to me how determined the series is to pretend Hiccup hasn't killed people/isn't capable of killing people when necessary.

They act like he wasn't out there every day of the week burning and sinking dragon hunter ships with his friends in rtte. He just seems to be very stuck in the mindset of: 'if I don't see the bodies, then who's to say I've done something as morally reprehensible as murder?'

Like he literally caused multiple of Krogan's henchmen to be electrocuted at once and fall off their dragons but he didn't actually see their bodies hit the water so it's fine.

But he can't directly kill someone. He struggles when it's not some faceless soldier, and he has to look at or speak to them knowing he needs to take their life.

Unless Toothless or Astrid are in immediate danger. Then all reservations about killing and violence disappear (rightfully so).

It surprises me that there's still ppl claiming so, but then I remember we're talking about 3h interpretations and I have to make peace with it.

But that doesn't stop me from venting a little bit in this little space I have lol. Actually, it dries me and makes me feel bad to bring this up because I will have to talk bad about Dedue, and I don't want to talk Bad about Dedue. He's a genuinely good boy. But "Human" nonetheless, which means Flaws. I like Felix too but he's become some sort of a clown that doesn't make me feel too bad. I like Felix tho, In a different way.

Mostly talking about these two because the take that "Dimitri has better support system" baffles me because, technically, these two are his support system in HopesVerse. The persons who Dimitri relays on and seek solace/advice/support. The rest doesn't really tackle any of his personal struggles (aside from the Mage!Mitri frustrated dream, but that's out of the bad equation in our 'mentally unwell' set of pixels, and Shez only has a glimpse). Contrary, to Houses verse where the whole blue lions cast knew about his shit, didn't know what to do, but didn't leave either.

I tackled this topic with other person on Twitter who was (or still is) on board with this take and the phrase they used was They contained him better, which of course I agree and remarked that was exactly the problem. Contain him is gonna be contra productive. I used a water dam analogy, where the structure of such dam is damaged, and the pressure of water keeps accumulating. Causing a foreseeable damage for the dam itself and the surroundings. You don't need to be a genius to understand it, you need experience or knowledge for mental ill topics tho.

I really don't want to extend so much on here because it's mostly just, rant format more than a proper analysis so I just want to point out these two things in their support conversations.

First, Dedue. Encourage him to keep on the vengeful path. Which we know was the final goal of Azure Moon and if you payed attention to 3 houses message. The whole Vengeful argument was something Bad, to keep it simple. Despite Dimitri actively looking for answers/guidance for something that, in a rational state he can see clearly like vengeance will consume his life (also Shez and Felix called out this behavior). Dedue answer only encourage him to keep on that path, because he would do that 💔. Presenting 2 oposite views is a great formula for confusion and disorientation. Now, Dedue's role is primary SUPPORT, not guidance nor orientation. He will support his shit no matter what, and we are quite aware of that if played Houses.

Second, Felix. Felix is a special case. He is smart but also an idiot lacks A LOT of soft skills to actually be of help. He's the only one who knows in this verse about Dimitri having a mental issue. In their A support to say the least, so they don't close or solve anything. What makes it more worrisome is the fact that Felix conceals the issue as a secret.

The whole burden falls over him and his lack of skills and wisdom on the matter will be too much for him later on. He at least, will be able to recognize that the problem is beyond of his capabilities and will look for help. Felix himself has his own issues and journey where he needs to learn. He's forced to get pass beyond some of his angry teen behavior but hasn't completely get over it.

There is a lot more to tackle, but that requires more work and time. What are the topics some of you think is important to cover around understanding the Hopes verse resolution? Dimitri's route? something? Do you think the route without Byleth is better? With that being said, I would like to delve deeper into character analysis, and the role each played for the Lords too. That also requires to talk about the Byleth and needs a whole analysis on their own, which requires time (which i don't have much lol) To end this vent, I would like to encourage people to do a little research for the terminology they're using like "Support System". Who makes it up and how it operates successfully. The fact that ppl saying "he has better support system" only because he didn't go feral on the run alone is not entirely valid. A reminder that people can feel alone with or without people around them. And containing the issue within doesn't solve any problem. At best, it's presented later. At worse, it gets worse.

I can't find it now but there's a post about suspension of disbelief and how it's broken when the story starts trying to excuse it. "character gets knocked unconscious for hours but there's no further issues from this" okay 👍 "and actually this makes perfect sense because of this and that" um no it doesn't why are you lying to me. like i am willing to ignore the holes and the discrepancies!! all you need to do is let me and not bring unnecessary attention to it!!!

and all that is my issue with the whole robin child soldier argument. like i am willing to ignore it i am willing to engage with the fantasy literally all you need to do is NOT try to convince me that Actually It's Fine Because They Want To Do It or whatever. like literally just shut up about it and i can engage with the fantasy!!

Aaaaanother TGAA SwapAU stuff and it is my wonderful boy Albert as the prosecutor!!

I've changed some of the designs in this one like the jacket color to white to make a resemblance of a lab coat and reflecting of Kazuma white school uniform, as well trying to bring more Frankenstein's Monster vibe too hehe (aaand make him look more miserable too). He is also have a locket that have a painting of him and his two brothers, it was given by Andrew during his wedding!

I also made bunch of character that related to Swap!Albert's life from 10 years ago, like Andrew(Klint's roleswap) and his other brother Michael, university Barok and Albert, etc. more info about the are there down below 👇👇

First of I wanted to say I'm sorry I can't do full render of everyone here, do that with all of them would be death sentence for me so I couldn't do it 😭😭 Anyway without further ado, I'm going right into it! Start from left to right!

This first one Ryunosuke father replacing as Genshin Asogi. At first while brainstorming I was thinking of maybe do three switch around with Genshin, Jigoku, and Yujin but the it somehow felt weird for me. Then the thought of maybe involving Auchi in this too (like, imagine him being swap with Jigoku wouldn't that be funny and terrifying thought), but discarded that idea out because of Menimemo would have no one to swap with (i have to i'm sorry). Sooo I ended just design him from scratch, he is quite easy to figure out since Genshin doesn't really have much going on with him, but since we don't have any idea of original Ryunosuke's parents at all I have to take idea from something else, and that is his daruma doll for his eyes (he is half blind!! :D) and Phoenix DD/SOJ design (droopy hair and light vest) and everything else is from Genshin. His name is Ryuuki Naruhodo since Ryunosuke is another name for Ryuichi so I want to keep the train going!!

Andrew the screwdriver, oh I missed him- Anyway, I redesign his outfit because tbh his previous outfit is ridiculous 😭 it's funny and fun but I do want to take him seriously now. I'm tried to keep the A shape still but it's less subtle now, I think it turned out okay!! (Oh yeah, his cane is supposed to be a hidden sword but i forgot to put that in the drawing 😭). I was supposed to make his bowtie red like the hair tie but then I realized it will getting rid of the purpose of the hair tie (it referencing the blood on the tip of the screwdriver) so I ended up making it color silver.

The Lady Baskerville, I gave her similar design to Sunny(Herlock!Swap) with the bowtie, color palette to his mascot, and hair on her. I'm not really quite fond with her design, maybe I'll do redesign her again if I got a idea pop up like crazy but in the meantime this is her design.

Guess who is this?? Another one of Albert's tool is here finally!! Michael the crosshead screwdriver! Since we never see Michael anywhere and only mentioned once in the game he is, I'm just draw simple design for him (I wished I could put M shape in the design but I have no idea WHERE to put it 😭 so I tried used the bowtie for it). I also thought it would be nice to make him a defense attorney so I made the design for the badge too. Since he is sadly not going to be mentioned a lot in this AU since I'm trying to make the storyline same as the original, so I made a backstory of what happened in the fun fact tags. There was supposed to be more tool to be added but my god that would be taxing to design, so I have to make only Andrew and Michael as his only siblings.

The doggie Balmung replacement, Bolt, He is a Irish Setter! Beforehand he was supposed to be Borzoi but then research the background of the breed I don't how difficult it is to actually get one in that era so I have to changed breed :((

Albert and Barok in university days!! I just keep same as before like previous design!! There's a tiny change like the hair and the neckties.

Maybeee maybe ankarna and cassandra will bring the rat grinders back??? Bc as goddesses theyd understand that they were literally under the influence of a corrupted ankarna and/or manipulated by a man trying to make himself into a god??? Maybe?????? I really hope that this wont be a like “oh well they shouldn’t have worked with porter and jace sucks for them” kinda deal bc. We know its more than that? And it would hard core suck narratively if they just permadied for being easily manipulated kids when they could easily be brought back by any number of people or as like a miracle like. Cmon. Also their deaths arent even that satisfying bc we KNOW they arent really equipped for actual combat, idk.

I liked the episode dgmw but i kinda just feel. Bummed out knowing theres a decent chance of them just being misunderstood and manipulated, and never getting to be kids or getting like rehabilitation or whatever.
