╰┈➤ i won’t sleep till you’re safe inside.
Pairing: Pavitr Prabhakar x Sister!Reader (platonic obviously)
Type: Fanfic - Fluff -> Angst
Word count: 8.5k (🫢🤯)
Warnings: NOT CANON-COMPLIANT! (I’ll make a list of everything that’s probably not canon but is for this fic) colour-coordinated dialogues to make it easier to understand who’s talking, starts out fluffy but evolves into angst, cussing, reader is desi, usage of Hindi (translations given, except for the Sheila Ki Jawani song), hahaha culturedumping & projection go hand in hand 😭
Some Goldenmodel (is that their official ship name??) too! (pls they’re literally so cute 🫠🫠)
A/N: Basically where Pavi loses his sister instead of Gayathri :D
The numbers at the top of every section indicate Pavitr and the reader’s age respectively (reader is older than Pavi) :)
Andddd the Pavitr Bhim Prabhakar hc continues 😁
Probably (Definitely) Non-Canon List:
-reader’s existence basically since she’s the daughter of Maya Aunty and Uncle Bhim (so she’s not technically his sister she’s his cousin but close enough!)
-I actually have NO idea how Pavi’s parents died or anything abt them so I’m basically making stuff up hehe
-Reader also gets the scholarship to Mumbattan that Pavitr got, but for a different subject
-kinda waffling on Bhim’s death since I’ve never actually read the comic where he died so idk much of anything
-Reader helps Pavi make his webshooters (kinda)
-Pav may be a teensy bit ooc I apologize for that
-there’s probably a lot more but none I can pinpoint specifically right now
(this is the song that Pav sings btw)
title inspo:
Will you call me to tell me you’re alright?
Cause I worry about you the whole night
Don’t repeat my mistakes
I won’t sleep till you’re safe inside
(Safe Inside, James Arthur)

4 & 6.
“Didi!”
You stifled a giggle, peeking out from behind the tree you were hiding behind to see the tiny boy scrambling over rocks and protruding tree roots, his eyes squinted in concentration as he searched for you.
“Come out, come out wherever you- ai!” He cut himself off with a sharp squeal of surprise, stumbling backwards as you leaped out and bared your teeth like the demonic rakshasas that seem to lunge right off the pages of your mother’s - Pavitr’s aunt’s - mythology books.
“Not fair,” Pavitr complained, glaring up at you and crossing his arms. His nose scrunched at the injustice and you laughed, sticking your tongue out at him and ruffling his hair.
“Totally fair.”
“Nahin! Pura cheating! Didi, tum hamesha dhokha deti ho!” (No! Fully cheating! You always cheat!)
“Oy, Pavi, main kaise dhokha de rahi hai? What nonsense you’re talking.” (How am I cheating?)
“I’m telling Maya Aunty that you’re being mean to me.”
“Wait-”
“Arrey, both of you stop squabbling and come up here,” Maya Aunty’s voice carried down into the lawn from the veranda as she poked her head out of the kitchen. “I made gajar ka halwa. Come eat before Bhim gets back and finishes everything.”
Pavitr’s eyes lit up at the mention of the carrot dessert, all earlier frustrations forgotten for the moment. “Race you!” He turned and darted across the lawn, his hair bobbing as he kicked up clouds of dirt under his shoes.
“Pavi, how is this fair?!”
——— ———
6 & 8.
“Didi! Checkmate! I win!”
“Ai, Pavi, that’s not… chess doesn’t work like…” He turned to you with big, shining eyes, grinning from ear to ear because he thought he had won. You trailed off with a resigned sigh, not having the heart to tell him that he had just got his own king killed.
“Wow, Pavi, you’re getting so good at this! You’re a natural!” You ruffled his hair affectionately, despite his protests and attempts to fight you off.
“Y/N! Yahaan aao!” (Come here)
You immediately perked up, eyebrows drawing together as you heard your mother’s voice, only… something was off. She sounded like she was holding back tears, the beginnings of a raw sob lingering in her throat.
“Haan, Amma? Kya hua?” (Yes? What happened?) (Amma/Maa just means mother)
She sat hunched next to the balcony, a phone in her slack grip. Your father - Pavitr’s Uncle Bhim - knelt with his back to you, holding her and rubbing her shoulders comfortingly. Tears fell from her eyes and the only sounds that split the air were her jagged heaves between soft sniffles.
“Amma? Papa, what happened to Amma?” Unease twisted in your stomach, knitting your eyebrows closer together as you moved forward and grasped your mother’s hand.
Your father turned to look at you and you inhaled sharply.
That was the first time you had ever seen your father cry.
“Pavitr’s parents were involved in an accident,” He struggled to keep his tone even for you.
“An accident? You mean…”
“Yes, beta. They’re… they’re gone.”
Your breath hitched and you backed away slightly, steadying yourself against the wall behind you.
You didn’t know much about what happened - and it would probably stay like that since you were ‘too young to bother yourself with the worries of the adult world - but you knew one thing for sure.
This is going to break Pavi.
I can’t let that happen.
You heard soft patters of bare feet on the marble floors and looked up just as Pavitr’s dark hair disappeared to the side of the doorframe.
Not trusting yourself to speak without breaking down mid-speech, you got up and left without a word, patting your mother’s hand sympathetically on the way.
You found Pavitr sitting against the tree you used to play hide and seek around. He pulled his knees to his chest, resting his forehead on his kneecaps and raising his head when you approached. “What happened, Didi?”
You grasped at words that would help convey it, but to no avail. How could you tell a 6 year old - one who was essentially a brother to you now - that his parents had died?
You had two ways out.
…I should tell him.
“Pavi… Maya Aunty will explain, but… basically, you’re going to be spending a lot more time with us - with me. How does that sound?”
Pavitr grinned, his eyes shining - and of course he had to look like a trusting puppy. Of course it had to make you feel guilty the moment those words, a romanticized version of the truth, left your lips.
“That sounds awesome,” He said happily, half-turning to wrap his arms snugly around your waist in a hug. “We’ll have so much fun! You can finally teach me how to play kancha and lagori like you’ve been wanting to! Right, Didi?”
“…yeah. You’re right.” You leaned down to kiss the top of his head as he nestled comfortably against your side, the strands of hair tickling your chin as you rested your head on his. You felt tears starting to well up as the depth of the situation hit you at full force.
Kaayar. Coward.
——— ———
9 & 11.
“Didi!”
You looked up from your schoolwork as Pavitr burst into your room. “What’s going on?”
“Maya Aunty said there’s some sort of… scholarship? They said we have to go to Mumbattan!” Your eyes shot wide open and you pushed your chair back from your desk to follow him into the kitchen. What scholarship? Mumbattan?
Maya Aunty had told you both that she had submitted samples of your writing and a few of Pavitr’s blueprints for futuristic designs he had come up with for various robotics competitions, but… you never thought the entry would ever amount to anything.
“Amma, Papa, yeh sach hai? Did we get a scholarship to Mumbattan?” (Is this true?)
“Haan, beta.” Your mother looked slightly tired, weary - but ultimately happy. The happiest you had seen her in quite a while. Your father patted your head affectionately, a large smile on his face. “Well done, both of you. Mere champions.” (My champions)
The moment dissipated like it was never there in the first place when Maya Aunty’s eyebrows scrunched together with worry once more as she turned to Uncle Bhim. “Arrey, Bhim. Hum kaise kharch uthayenge? Mumbattan mei, woh kiraaya-” (How will we afford this? The rent in Mumbattan-)
The moment you heard those words, you let out a soft exhale and took Pavitr’s hand, gently tugging on it and leading him away from the ‘adult’ conversation. By now, you were almost conditioned to do your best to avoid conversations that always got your parents stressed out and sometimes led to frustrated breakdowns which simmered into tearful apologies and doubtful plans.
“Let’s go play kancha, Pavi. I’ll even let you start this time.”
You ran out onto the lawn with him, your hand holding onto his smaller one tightly as if you could protect him from all the harm and sadness and worry that the world had to offer.
——— ———
11 & 13.
“Didi!”
“Don’t didi me. You agreed to this, remember? You brought this upon yourself,” You said between giggles that got increasingly louder at how ridiculous he looked.
Maya Aunty and Bhim Uncle were both out buying groceries, and Pavitr was so bored that he accepted your challenge to see who could balance more than five stones on their forehead. And if he lost, you would get to do his hair and makeup.
That was why he was currently sitting in front of you, bright pink eyeshadow on both his eyelids and wearing the brightest red lipstick you could find. He winced in pain, loudly protesting every two seconds as you tried to put his wavy hair into a Dutch braid. He had let it grow out over the past few months, and at the rate he was going, if he left it for even a little while more it’d be longer than yours.
“You need a haircut, Pavi. I think you might be getting split ends…” You couldn’t help but chuckle at the expression of pure horror that crossed his face at your words, which quickly turned to annoyance. “Shut up, you’re just saying that because you’re jealous- ow!”
“Whoops.”
“You did that on purpose.”
“Did not.” You looped a rubber band onto the ends of the braid, finally finishing and tilting your head to critically examine your handiwork. “There, you’re all done.”
Pavitr glanced at his reflection in the compact mirror you offered him. “Wait, I don’t look that bad. I can pull this off pretty well, actually.”
“Sure you can, sweetie. Let’s do your nails now.”
“You’re the absolute worst.”
——— ———
12 & 14.
“Didi! Rise and shine!”
You groaned softly, turning over onto your side. “Get out.”
“Aww, that’s so sweet and definitely not a prime example of you being mean to your younger brother. Seriously though, we have to get going soon for school.” He expertly dodged the spare pillow you threw at him, deciding to kneel by your bedside and stare you in the eyes like some psychotic cat.
“Not everyone’s a morning person, Pavi. Besides, it’s 6 in the damn morning. Come back in another hour.”
Pavitr didn’t respond, just started humming a tune and tapping out a familiar beat on your bedside table, using two pencils from your desk’s mug of stationery as makeshift drumsticks.
“I know you want it but you’re never gonna get it, tere haath kabhi na aani…”
Your eyes shot open as you recognized the song. “No, Pavi, I swear to God-”
“Maane na maane koi duniya yeh saari, mere ishq ki hai deewani…” Stifling laughter, he backed out of range before you could smack some sense into him with another pillow.
“Pavitr! Stop!” You chucked a pillow at him, sitting up and staring at him in utter astonishment at his song choices.
“Kisi aur ki mujhko zaroorat kya, main toh khud se pyaar jataun! What’s my name, what’s my name, what’s my name…?”
“Pavitr Bhim Prabhakar, if you don’t stop singing that song right now-” You lunged forward, trying to grab him and muffle the lyrics of the Bollywood song he was singing - granted, he wasn’t a terrible singer, and in fact he could sing in Hindi quite well, but out of every song he could’ve chosen… this? “By the way, you missed a few lines, but that’s not the point! Stop it!”
“My name is Sheila! Sheila ki jawani! I’m too sexy for you, mei tere hath na aani-”
Chaos ensued in the next few seconds. Pavitr, who had been running around your room doing whatever choreography he could remember from the scene with that particular song in the movie you had both watched, tripped on the fallen pillow and fell flat on his face.
You had been chasing him around and tripped over him, rolling over and landing beside him. Luckily, you managed to break your fall with your palms.
“How’d the ground taste, hmm?” You asked, offering a hand to help him up.
“You’re mean,” Pavitr complained, taking your hand and pulling himself up. You fixed his slightly ruffled hair, a little surprised at how soft it was. Was he already going through the phase of being obsessed with how he looked?
“Yeah, well. You’re in my room at 6 am singing one of the sluttiest Bollywood songs you know, so… you’ll live, buttercup.” You gave his head a rough pat, turning to reluctantly make your bed - might as well, since you were already awake - as he hovered over your shoulder with a grin.
“But hey, it did get you up, didn’t it?”
——— ———
13 & 15.
“Didi! Where are you? I need to tell you something!”
“…I don’t understand. What are you saying?” You felt so paralyzed that you didn’t even register your brother’s voice. Instead you stared at the person you thought was your boyfriend, dangerously quiet. The calm before the storm. He shifted uncomfortably, fiddling with his sleeve and clearing his throat.
“Um, I think we should break up. I’ve kind of been… seeing another girl. Shreya.”
You were careful to keep your expression neutral, crossing your arms to prevent you from worrying at your nails. “For how long?”
“Uh, I-”
“How. Long. It’s a simple question.”
“Five months.”
“Son of a bitch.” You kept your voice low, sweeping a hand towards the door. “The exit’s there. Leave.”
“Listen, I’m really-”
“Get out. I’m serious. Get the fuck out of here before I make you do so.”
He stopped and stared at you for a few seconds, realizing just how angry you were.
“Okay. Well, it was… good seeing you, I guess. I hope you-”
“Didi?”
This time you heard Pavitr call you, soft hesitancy in his voice that carried into the room from the other side of the door. “Everything okay?”
“Yeah, Pavi, I’m fine. You can come in.” You covered the cracks in the screens of overly pleasant tones that you layered over your voice so as to make sure he didn’t worry.
He quickly entered your room, and from the way he glared daggers at your now-ex-boyfriend you assumed he had heard everything - or at least, a large chunk of the conversation.
“Hey there, buddy.”
He had the nerve to smile and hold his knuckles out for a fist bump. Truth be told, you felt a sort of bitter satisfaction when Pavitr just glared up at him and didn’t bother lifting his hand to return it.
“Fuck off.”
“What?”
His eyes widened slightly and traveled from the harsh scowl fixed on Pavitr’s face to your dangerously calm demeanour.
“You heard him, didn’t you?”
“I… yeah. I’m going. See you around.”
You followed him with your eyes as he inched toward the door, shutting it behind him.
The moment he left, your unbothered façade cracked and splintered into pieces. You moved yourself to sit on your bed, slipping the covers over your legs. “Thank you,” You murmured to Pavitr, closing your eyes so he wouldn’t see the tears threatening to spill. He came over to sit beside you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“Mat rouoh didi. Hum ek movie dekhenge?” (Don’t cry didi. Wanna watch a movie?)
“Haan, please. As long as it’s not Tees Maar Khan, I am not watching that again with you. I’ve had enough of that Sheila ki Jawani. Wait, Pavi, you said you wanted to tell me something?”
“…that’s not important right now, don’t worry about it.”
You didn’t notice him anxiously trying to peel off the edge of the blanket that was stubbornly sticking to the pads of fingers.
——— ———
A week later.
It had happened so suddenly. No one seemed to know anything.
Well, except the fact that your father had died somehow.
I know we fought a lot more in… in the end, but I love you. I always have and I always will, Papa. You made me who I am today, you taught me to know my own worth and accept no less. Believe me, I think about it every day. If you were here I’d tell you.
You wished you could say that out loud, to offer everyone present a window into your thoughts to prove you weren’t just an angsty teenager - or a family disappointment, which a few aunties seemed to believe by the way they were whispering and shooting overly sympathetic looks your way which were quickly followed up by hushed giggles.
But instead you kept your head down and used what little energy you could muster to give a nod of acknowledgement every time a distant relative - even ones you hadn’t seen since you were a baby - popped up in your face to console you.
“Where’s Pavitr? Did he come to the antyesti?” You jumped; you hadn’t noticed your mother hovering beside you until she laid a light hand on your shoulder. She seemed to move around like a spectre; dressed completely in a simple white salwaar kameez with a long white shawl wrapped around her in such a way that it obscured both her arms and her hair, along with part of her face.
“No, I don’t think so - at least, I haven’t seen him.” You looked over her shoulder at the priests starting to get everything prepared for the ceremony and searched the crowds of vaguely familiar people.
Where the hell is he?
Getting the priests to agree to Pavitr - who wasn’t exactly Bhim’s son but the closest thing to it - leading the rituals was hard enough. But then again, it wasn’t like they had much of a choice, did they? You couldn’t exactly do it - the rituals of an antyesti were to be performed by the eldest son. Or the priests themselves, if he couldn’t do it for any reason. Never a woman.
You and Maya Aunty weren’t allowed to do anything except watch and pray.
And now if Pavitr didn’t show up in time-
Thwip! Thwip!
You frowned and shook your head slightly, wondering what the source of that noise was. Oh, well, probably just a pesky mosquito buzzing in your ear.
“Didi, Maya Aunty, I am so, so sorry that I’m late. Did they start already?” You jumped again in surprise - what was it with people sneaking up behind you today? You took in Pavitr’s crisp white dhoti and neatly styled hair, and for a second you couldn’t decide whether to hug him or punch him in the face.
“I’ll tell you everything later, didi. Pinky promise,” Pavitr murmured to you, offering his pinky to you. You linked your little finger with his, looking into his eyes as concern bubbled up to mix with the hurricane of emotions already clamouring for attention in your brain.
He had horrible bags under his eyes, like he hadn’t slept properly in a week. And when you gently squeezed his pinky, his breath hitched as if he was in pain and he drew his hand back after a few seconds. You blinked in confusion, getting a brief glimpse of painful-looking faint purple splotches all along his hand and the underside of his arm. They looked like bruises that had been poorly covered up by foundation that was almost three shades too light for his skin, but before you could say anything he turned to make his way through the crowd.
“Pavi-” You started to ask what was going on, what happened, what was wrong, but he just shook his head, angling his chin toward the priests waiting patiently for him.
“Badh mein, didi. Antyesti ke badh.” (Later. After the antyesti)
——— ———
After the ceremony.
“Pavitr Prabhakar, if you don’t tell me what’s going on-” You came face-to-face with one of your more distant aunties, who immediately lit up excitedly in a way that was probably not suited for a cremation ceremony as soon as she recognized you.
“Arrey, beta! You’ve grown so much! How old are you now? You still sing, no? Kya aapne college ke bare socha hain?” (Have you thought/started thinking about college?)
“Haha… hi, aunty… no, aunty… no, I haven’t thought about college yet… have you seen Pavitr anywhere? I need to find him and it’s really urgent but… oh, uh… yes, of course, I would love to catch up over chai sometime. Sure, we should plan that - oh, sorry, bye! Tell my mother that I’ve gone to look for Pavitr, okay? Thank you!”
Seizing the opportunity that presented itself in the form of another aunty who came waddling over to greet the first one, you squeezed through the crowd of people in sarees and dupattas, some milling about and some dispersing, all accompanied by the almost suffocating smell of jasmine. God, did everyone use the same horrible perfume?
Luckily for you, the antyesti was held fairly close to your house - on a large terrace that was only about a 15 minute walk away.
You got to the front door and fumbled with the set of keys in your pocket for a second, your fingers shaking slightly as the shock and grief began to set in. Adrenaline could only take you so far, it seemed.
“Pavi? Pavi, I’m home, where-”
You opened the door to your room and inhaled sharply at the sight that lay before you. Pavitr leaned against your bed, sitting on the floor with his knees hugged close to his chest, chin resting on his kneecaps. His eyes were squeezed shut, eyelashes fluttering as tears slipped out one after another from underneath them.
“Pavi…? Oh, Pavi, mera chhoti bhai, kya hua? Kisi ne… tumhein chot pahunchaee?” (My little brother, what happened? Did… someone hurt you?) You scooted closer to Pavitr, wrapping an arm around his shoulders and drawing him into your side. He buried his face in your shoulder, tears soaking through the thin fabric of the kurta you were wearing.
“Shh. Sab theek ho jayega. Mujhe batao, Pavi. Kya hua?” (Everything’s okay. Tell me, what happened?)
“I’m Spider-Man.”
You blinked in surprise. Out of all the possible explanations he could have offered you, that was certainly not on your list. “Spider-Man? Matlab… the superhero?” (Matlab means meaning)
The hero had emerged only a week ago. Wearing an intricately patterned mask that left his wavy hair loose at the top, a blue-and-red spandex suit and blue dhoti pants on top of them, he was basically impossible to ignore. You had seen some key similarities between Spider-Man and Pav’s hair, but you had always just assumed it was related to how boys cut their hair like their idols sometimes.
“Chacha died because of Spider-Man. Because of me. He got caught in the crossfire and I couldn’t reach him in time and-” Pavitr’s words spilled together in a panicked haze, blurring each syllable and tripping over letters in an attempt to get them out before he could break again. (Chacha is another word for uncle)
You shifted to face him, wrapping him in a tight hug. “Shaant ho jao. Main yahaan hoon. Main kaheen nahin ja raha hoon.” (Calm down. I’m here, I’m not going anywhere)
“I can’t-” His breath quickened as his whole body started to heave with dry sobs. “Please just… just listen to me. This is what I wanted to tell you last week. I’m Spider-Man.”
He mistook your silence as a sign of disbelief and carried on speaking, trying to convince you. “There were these bullies I was running from, and I tripped and fell into a tree hollow and there was this yogi who said he’d give me the powers of a spider to fight the evil in this world, and I didn’t know it would turn out like this so I accepted and-”
“I believe you.”
That caught him off guard. He pulled back to look at you, his eyes wide. “You do?”
“Of course. You think I haven’t noticed you sticking to everything? You almost ripped the couch’s upholstery clean off because you weren’t paying attention.” You gently swiped your thumb near the corner of his eye, wiping away the tear that was at risk of spilling out. “It’s okay, Pavi. Let’s.. talk about something else for the moment.”
As much as you wanted answers - how exactly had your father died? Which sick, twisted, psychotic ‘villain’ killed him? - you knew when to stop pushing Pavitr and now was definitely that time. Tears still shone in the corners of his brown eyes, not quite ready to fall but not small enough to be blinked away.
“Spiderwebs!”
“What?”
“You need spiderwebs, naa? So you can swing like a spider instead of leaping around and relying on sticking to whatever surface you can reach. Ooh, it’d be so cool if you could shoot them from your hands and lasso bad guys and when they fight back you go dishoom dishoom.” (dishoom is basically just a sound effect for beating someone up 😭 usually punching someone)
“… you mean webshooters?” Pavitr watched your emphatic display of just what dishoom dishoom meant to you with a mildly concerned look on his face before he took a folded up piece of paper out of his pocket and smoothed it out. It was filled with designs for some sort of gadget, the sharp, jagged pencil lines highlighting every feature and listing possible building processes.
“I’ve done some research and I’ve got everything, so I know how to make it. But I need something that can contract if I wrap a web around it… kind of like a yo-yo? But it also has to fit on my wrist so that it’s easy for me to angle where I want the web to go.” He absentmindedly tapped the pencil against the silver bangle you were wearing. The soft clinks gave you an idea and you quickly got up, going to your dresser and rummaging around in the drawers.
“Wait, I think I might have something that’ll work…”
Your fingers closed around what you were looking for and you fished it out. You held two large golden cuffs in your hands, but they weren’t regular heavy cuffs. The top and bottom were actually two separate pieces, joined together in the middle by a stretchy piece of white nylon that went all the way around.
Just looking at it made your heart ache a little as all the memories associated with the simple accessory came flooding back.
Your father had given it to you a few Diwalis ago, when you were throwing a tantrum about having to wear the large bangles to go to with the itchy salwar you had on - against your wishes, of course. But your mother warned you that her mother was a stickler for traditions and insisted on everyone wearing the most colourful ethnic wear you all had, including Pavi.
Your father had slid one of the cuffs onto your right wrist, laughing gently at your surprise look when you discovered how light they were, a stark contrast to the gold bangles that weighed down your other wrist.
“Compromise paaya, hain na?” (We’ve found a compromise, right?)
“Haan, papa.”
Now, more than eight years later, you held one of the last things you had left to keep your father’s memory alive.
And what better way to honour him than to use his kaadas to fight evil and protect the city?
“Use these.”
Pavitr looked up and immediately shook his head, gently pushing away your outstretched hands. “No, didi, I can’t- this is what Uncle gave you-”
“I know. He gave them to me as a gift. And now I’m passing them down to you. Please, Pavi. Take them.” You took his hands, pressing the kaadas into his palms and closing his fingers over them.
Something in your tone made him search your gaze for a few seconds before giving in and bringing the cuffs up to his eyes, testing out the nylon middle. “Wait, this is perfect. If I can just…”
He reached into the depths of one of your drawers and pulled out a small device that looked like it had some sort of fluid sloshing around in its… fuel container, maybe? You furrowed your brow in surprise. “Has that always been there? In my cupboard?”
“Well, yeah. Can’t have Maya Aunty accidentally pulling it out of mine, can we?” He gave you a grin. “Besides, you have so many things stuffed into that one drawer that it’s basically impossible to find.”
He attached the device to the inside of the cuff with a small click and slipped it onto his wrist.
Thwip! Thwip!
With two tiny flicks of his wrist, he had shot two webs to the ceiling and was now hanging upside down, a satisfied grin on his face.
“Well, this is working pretty well-”
Thud.
“Don’t you dare,” Pavitr warned you as he winced and rubbed the spot where he had fallen on his backside.
“I will not laugh. I will not laugh. I will not-”
You couldn’t help but burst into giggles at his mildly pathetic sad-puppy expression as he sat dejectedly on the floor after falling from the ceiling.
“So, uh… the web strength may need some work.”
“Everybody, this is Pavitr Bhim Prabhakar, Mumbattan’s Spider-Man.” You pretend to speak into an imaginary microphone, gesturing animatedly towards Pav as he lay on the floor.
“Oh, sure, announce it to the whole world, why don’t you,” He grumbled, reluctantly pulling himself to his feet.
You gave him an overly sweet smile, leaning over to mess up his hair. “Never. I’m gonna take this secret with me to my grave.”
——— ———
14 & 16.
6 months really went by quickly.
6 months of monthly poojas to honour your deceased father. 6 months of Pavitr being Spider-Man. And also…
“Didi! Why isn’t my hair staying down?!”
“Oh, I don’t know, maybe because that bad guy threw you into an electricity tower? Pavi, why are you dressing up all of a sudden anyway?” You sat on the floor of your room as you skeptically watched him brush out his hair. He had insisted that your mirror was big enough and ‘had the best lighting’.
He stayed silent, though you could see him scrunch his nose a little in embarrassment. The realization hit you and you let out a loud - maybe overly dramatic - gasp.
“Oh my god! You have a date!”
“…maybe. So?”
“So that means I get to meet and terrorize them! You know, sibling stuff!”
Pavitr froze for a split second, a small smile starting to form in the corner of his mouth at the last part. Siblings. In all honesty, didn’t that word describe the bond you both shared almost perfectly? Siblings - not by blood, but by something so much bigger than either of you could’ve imagined.
“Absolutely not. Gayatri’s-”
“Gayatri? Is she Punjabi? Ooh, is she pretty? Is she really badass and cool and-”
“She’s a model,” Pavitr interrupted, smoothing down his hair and glaring at you. “And this isn’t my first date with her. Just for the record.”
“Wow, and she’s your age? Damn, Pavi, you managed to pull a model! I’m so proud of you right now.”
“I will strangle you if you don’t stop talking,” Pavitr grumbled, punching the bridge of his nose.
“I’m not saying anything bad!”
“Sure you ar-” Pavitr stopped mid-sentence and stiffened, craning his neck and glancing out the window over his shoulder like a cat that had heard something strange. “Wait, someone’s here. Gotta go!”
He dashed into the bathroom and came out two seconds later, fully decked out in his spider suit and mask.
“Don’t get your ass kicked!” You called out as he nose-dived out the window.
“Ha, ha! Very funny!”
——— ———
10 minutes later.
“Pavitr, what the hell?!” You leaped backwards as a strange sort of alien materialized in your room for a split second before they disappeared into a black hole-like void, followed by a… Spider-Man? Not Pav. This one was taller and his suit was red and black, and oh God, was he bleeding from his armpits?
You were tempted to offer him a few cotton wipes and something to clean the wound but he disappeared in after the weird teleporting alien before you could ask.
Pavitr came crashing in through your window, landing on the floor and glancing around. “What? I thought they came here-”
“Really?! Now you show up? I’ve just had some sort of cow-man and a new Spider-Man teleport into my room through a pit and-” You stopped short as another Spider-Man landed on the floor. Except… Spider-Woman? She wore a suit in the shape of a white-and-black ballet leotard and had a hood with web designs on the inside.
“Pavitr, is… this Gayatri?” You tried to wrap your head around the fact that there were three different types of Spider-People and a cow on the wrong side of evolution who had just phased through your house. “Oh, hi, Gayatri, I’ve heard so much about you. Pavi thinks you’re really classy and cool and you’re the prettiest girl alive and-”
Pavitr webbed a pillow and swung it into your face before you could finish, temporarily shutting you up. “Didi, this… this isn’t Gayatri.” Despite his face being covered by his mask, you could tell from his tone that he was embarrassed out of his wits. “This is, uh… this is Gwen. She’s a Spider-Woman. Look, it’s hard to explain, but they’re all from different universes and I think the New Guy’s in love with Gwen, so we gotta go save their romance before it shatters. Bye!”
He leaped out the window again, followed by Gwen - who was stuttering and tripping over her words trying to form a plausible denial for his last statement.
Never a dull day in Mumbattan, I guess.
——— ———
5 minutes after that ordeal.
“Arrey, your chai is getting cold. Drink fast, no?”
“Haan, Amma. Ek second.” (One second) You moved away from where you were hovering near the window. As much as Pavitr reassured you that he was okay, that being Spider-Man was easy now - you still remembered having to disinfect wounds and ice bruises and watch him hiss and crinkle his face up in pain every time you wiped a tissue soaked in Dettol along his cuts.
Maybe those were only fairly harmless flesh wounds, but what kept you up at night was the worry that one day it might turn into something worse.
“I’m drinking it,” You said defensively and sat down as Maya Aunty lifted an eyebrow at you over her own mug. Just as you sat down the whole ground seemed to shake, a horrible din filling the air, screams and the sound of rubble falling mingling together in the cacophony.
“Oh, someone blew down Alchemax,” said Maya Aunty once the noise died down. With a small shake of her head, she casually returned to her chai as if this sort of thing happened almost every day.
“What an idiot.” You glanced out the window, squinting into the distance and widening your eyes as your eyes snagged on a flash of vibrant fabric flying through the air, just barely visible through the pieces of flying rubble.
Oh, fuck, that’s my idiot.
——— ———
You figured the easiest and fastest way to get near Alchemax was to take the bus. After all, those bus drivers had basically decided long ago that they were above the rules of the traffic. They honestly didn’t give a damn about the speed limits and you respected that.
“Hi, Y/N!” You turned at your name, tilting your head curiously because you didn’t recognise the voice.
You found yourself looking at someone who looked oddly familiar, you just couldn’t place it - until you glanced briefly out the window and saw a Zomato billboard. Of course if had to be her, how else would she know your name?
“Oh, are you Gayatri? Hi! It’s so nice to meet you, I’ve heard so much about you from Pavi.”
“Aww, that’s sweet, and likewi-“
The bus swerved sharply and you, Gayatri and more than half of the people who weren’t holding onto the railings were slammed against the back window before the bus started to tilt forward. You blinked away stars for a few seconds as the wind was knocked out of you.
When you regained your vision you let out a yelp of surprise. Someone yelled “Fuck!” right next to you, followed by a string of unrepeatable Marathi cusswords - while also listing out gods and praying to them that they’d make it out alive - and you could understand why.
Some dumbass - or maybe a large piece of rubble - had ripped a hole in the middle of the fucking Mumbattan Bridge. The whole bus was falling right into that hole, and unfortunately the bus driver’s magical ability to fly straight over potholes seemed to have evaded him right now, judging by the fact that he was currently contributing to the chorus of terrified screams.
“Hold on!” Gayatri caught your forearm right as your grip on the flimsy side railing was loosening and pulled you up to latch onto the railing at the back. Good lord, was this girl strong. You decided right then and there that you definitely liked her.
You saw Pavitr stop mid-swing and turn around, his mask’s eyes widening as he saw both of you pounding relentlessly on the back bus window in the hopes that it would break in time.
He shot a web that stuck to the back of the bus, tipping it almost vertically as he held onto one of the bridge supports. His eyes narrowed with effort as he struggled to hold onto the deceptively delicate-looking silky tendrils.
You silently thanked whatever higher power existed for the time when Pavitr fell from the ceiling 6 months ago. If that hadn’t happened, you and the other people on this bus would’ve been flattened on the ground by now. Don’t look down, don’t look down, don’t look down.
Pavitr glanced behind him, his shoulders falling slightly in shock. The web holding onto the bus stretched and dipped, threatening to snap any second. He wrapped the silken web around the support, trying to bring it up.
You and Gayatri were just barely hanging on, your entire bodies dangling down with gravity as you held onto the railing for dear life.
Suddenly something changed. Another web attached itself to the bus and pulled you onto the bridge. Another Spider-Man, possibly?
You let out the breath you hadn’t realized you had been holding as the bus levelled itself on solid ground again. Gayatri gave you a weak smile, grasping your hand and pulling you straight into the throng of people rushing to exit the bus.
The moment she stepped outside Pavitr wrapped her in a hug, eliciting a surprised squeak from Gayatri.
“Are you okay? I was so worried-” He realized his mistake mid-sentence, drawing back from her and patting her shoulders with both hands, unsure whether to cross his arms or rest them on his hips. “Uh, you seem like a nice young woman who I do not know…”
Gayatri chuckled softly and looked past him. “Papa!”
“Gayatri!”
She ran at him and he wrapped his arms around her tightly. Seeing their bond warmed your heart but also made it ache slightly with the acceptance that that could never happen to you with your own father.
“Real smooth, Pavi,” You grinned at your brother, who grumbled something under his breath and closed the distance to crush you in a hug.
“Shush, didi. I just saved your ass.”
“Yeah, I suppose you did.” You ruffled his hair affectionately and pulled back, smiling at the growing shouts of ‘dhanyavadh, makhdi-bhaiya!’. (Thank you, Spider-Guy!)
“Amma’s going to kill you, by the way. She thinks you snuck out to go to some p-”
You let out a soft mmph as you collided with possibly the boniest person you had ever had the misfortune of bumping into. You were pretty sure you had just got stabbed in seven different places by various joints.
“Sorry, I didn’t-” You paused as you looked up, taking in spikes, a leather vest, pins, a guitar, and mask eyes which looked like running mascara.
“Holy shit, you’re really cool.”
The Spider-Man variant blinked in surprise and let out a laugh. “Why, thank you, poppet. I try. Pisses the fascists off so much that they call me Spider-Punk.”
You heard the twang of a well-known (almost infamous, at least in Mumbattan) accent and glanced at Pavitr. “He’s British,” He confirmed, giving Hobie a high-five.
“Well, I don’t care. He looks awesome.”
“Oi, Pav, I like this one.” He gave you an appreciative fist-bump, and you lifted your eyebrows at the sheer size difference between both of your hands.
“That’s my sister.”
“Makes sense. But you know I didn’t mean it like that. She seems cool is all.”
“Wait. If you’re British, can you do us a favour and steal back the Kohinoor? Please?”
“I’ll try my best, but I can’t make any promises. Fuckin’ Sweeney*, I doubt they even know where it’s kept.” (*Sweeney/Sweeney Todd - Cockney rhyming slang for Flying Squad [the police])
You nodded along politely with a smile like you actually understood even one word of that sentence. “Well, okay, in that case-”
You turned and almost burst out laughing. Pavitr looked like he was on the losing end of a staring contest, his hand almost engulfed in Inspector Singh’s much bigger one. Gayatri stood behind him, looking between them in awe. “I’ve never seen him so emotional.”
“Excellent job.”
Your bother just gave a nod, but knowing Pavitr he was internally over the moon and would hold that simple statement close to his heart, insisting that his girlfriend’s dad “loved him”.
“Man-like Miles, my guy!” Hobie grabbed the red and black Spider-Man - Miles’ - shoulders and shook him excitedly, punching him lightly as the people of Mumbattan started cheering.
You were about to join in when something happened. Well, not happened, really, but… something felt off somehow. You had read something once that said a person’s hair stands on end as a warning when lightning’s about to strike. You imagined that’d feel like you you were feeling right now. And you could hear whistling… was that sound just your ears being weird?
The cheers died down suddenly and you turned around too late. One of those portal-holes, slicing through the air like a deadly frisbee, slammed into you and knocked you inside in such a way that you got teleported straight off the side of the bridge. You scrabbled for the supports, but to no avail as you sailed right past them.
You heard Pavitr’s panicked yell, the sounds of confused and worried chatter bubbling among the ground, and the air rushing around in your ears as you free-fell.
You can’t save me, you realized as you saw Pavitr dive off the bridge, reaching out his wrist in preparation of shooting a web. You won’t get here in time. You focused on mouthing the next few words that came to your mind, because if you were going to die and leave your brother you would do so by reminding him that he was - and always would be - loved. Pavi, I’m sorry. I love you. I always will.
Your stomach dropped and your head spun - but by some mercy you didn’t feel the final impact.
——— ———
Pavitr’s POV.
“No, no no no- please, please no-”
Pavi, I’m sorry.
I love you.
Six words. Six words which shouldn’t be used in the same sentence. Those two sets separately, sure, but in very different scenarios.
Those would not be the last words you said to him. They couldn’t be.
Time seemed to slow down, making his movements sluggish and hazy. He stretched his wrist out till it ached, silk erupting from his - no, your - kaada. Come on, come on…
The silk shot toward you and for a second he thought it would reach in time.
Then he heard a crash and watched you fall straight through the flimsy tin roof of an abandoned warehouse. “No!”
He landed after you, shooting a web at a street lamp and pulling up to break the built-up momentum at the last second. Kicking down the warehouse door, he rushed over to your limp form, sprawled across a few empty crates in the dimly lit space.
“Nonono you have to stay with me, please don’t go, I can’t-” Pavitr swallowed hard as he picked you up and set you down with your back against the wall, holding up your jaw so your head didn’t fall forward. He snapped his fingers in front of your face two, three times - no response.
He could feel his vision starting to blur, heart practically causing an earthquake as he shakily put his finger to the pulse point on your neck.
Nothing.
“No,” He whispered into the still air, as if that would be able to revive someone who was so much more than just a cousin. You were his sister, his closest and most annoying friend, his anchor. You were supposed to be a constant in his life. If you were gone… what would go next?
He wasn’t sure how long he sat there, cradling your lifeless body in his arms. But after a little while Hobie dropped in through the hole in the ceiling, and Miles and Gwen came in through the door. He didn’t understand anything they were saying. Pavitr felt like he was underwater, the cold, murky silence filling his ears and bleeding into his brain.
Someone else, much bigger than him tried to drag him away. Someone wearing a beige police uniform and a turban. He kicked and fought, screaming at them that they didn’t understand, he couldn’t leave you, this wasn’t how it was supposed to end. That you were going to wake up soon. You were only unconscious, after all. You had to wake up sometime.
You had to, right?
Pavitr watched as you were placed on a stretcher, a white cloth laid over your body. He slumped in the hands of whoever was struggling to drag him away as all his hopes of you waking up splintered into a million pieces. Pieces that he would step on and trip over and they would cut his skin a billion times. Little tiny paper cuts. Paper cut after paper cut, till he bled out.
Through whatever shocked haze his brain was forcing itself into, he knew that something inside him had broken. Duct tape could fix it. Duct tape could fix anything. Was this metaphor for something? His brain really needed to slow down, he couldn’t keep up with what was and what wasn’t fixable with a single roll of duct tape.
He pictured his heart, the muscles and blood vessels torn clean through in the centre, forming a hole in the shape of you. Did it stop beating? It felt like it stopped beating. Was there a way to check if he was still alive? He hoped he was. Though there didn’t feel like much reason to be. Not anymore, at least.
Oh. Maya Aunty. Someone would have to tell Maya Aunty. No, he would have to tell Maya Aunty.
Two funerals in the span of 6 months. Two core members of the family gone.
Twin flames burning warm and bright, always lighting up the entire place with their own unique luminosities, until they couldn’t anymore. The wicks were extinguished and the candles melted into stumps before their time.
The Spot knew exactly what he was doing, Pavitr realized. Because he might as well have set fire to his entire home.
——— ———
15 & still 16.
Pavitr Bhim Prabhakar was many things.
He was Mumbattan’s Spider-Man. He was Maya Aunty’s nephew. He was Gayatri’s boyfriend. He honoured his dead parents with his last name. He carried the legacy of his dead uncle with his middle name alone.
Most of all, he carried the memory of his sister in every scar that he got that day.
Suddenly every moment you had spent with him seemed too little. Even just one of your hugs would take away some of the pain.
Keep them in your heart, they’re watching over you. Recall the memories you made with them.
What did that even mean in this case? You had gone too soon. Dead, cremated at 16. You weren’t even an adult. And what hurt the most was that everything - from your room to your belongings - was exactly how you left it.
It had been almost 3 months and he still hadn’t let anyone change anything in your room. The messy duvet could stay messy. And the pillow that was thrown at the foot of the bed had taken up permanent residence there.
The room smelled like vanilla and honeycomb. And it would stay that way for as long as he could help it. If someone rearranged anything, would that part of you disappear from this house? He didn’t want to find out.
Everything that made this room yours would stay there, it had to. The way you meticulously arranged every makeup and hair product by height, colour and serial order on your chest of drawers. The way your cupboards always smelled of cotton candy because of an essence diffuser your friend had given you.
Gayatri, Miles, Gwen and Hobie had all tried their best to help him, and Margo had even dropped in a few times and offered to play video games with him. And admittedly, he was in a much better frame of mind than how he was only a little while ago.
He sat on the floor, hugging his legs loosely to his chest and clutching a mug of chai in one hand. Pavitr couldn’t say anything even if he wanted to; the altogether lack of the owner of this room made the silence even more oppressive and suffocating.
He stretched his legs out slowly, refusing to let his mind wander. Focus on the wallpaper. Focus on the sound of traffic. Focus on the chai. Focus on anything except the posters, the pillows, the way that it felt like time itself was holding its breath inside this room.
Pavitr’s leg brushed something hidden underneath the rug in front of him. Frowning slightly in confusion, he leaned forward to peer underneath the fuzzy square of fabric - finding nothing but a small notebook and a pen.
He pulled it out and, upon recognizing it, drew in a surprised inhale. The leather-bound cover was dusty and worn out. The label that read Bhim Prabhakar in neatly printed handwriting had been scratched out, jagged words cutting across the paper like tiny knife strokes. His heart squeezed when he read the word written in the second handwriting.
Y/N.
Of course he remembered this book, how could he not? On days when you had noticed he felt sad, you tore out two lined pages of paper and made him write down what was bothering him in a letter.
“Here, Pavi. Write it to anyone you want, and fill it out with everything bad that happened today. You don’t have to send it to them, don’t worry. I’ll even do it with you.”
He still remembered the first time he had done that activity with you. You both sat back-to-back, scribbling down all the ‘yucky feelings’, as you had put it once. Pavitr had finished his letter and surprised you by addressing it to you, twisting around to hand you the folded piece of paper.
You hadn’t addressed your letter yet, so you wrote his name on the top in big block letters.
To: Pavitr Prabhakar.
Because it was a very official document, you had explained solemnly.
And when you took a look at how he had mentioned you, you had lunged forward and trapped him in a bone-crushing hug.
To: The Best Didi In The World.
He felt tears well up slightly as he recalled the amount of times he went and wordlessly sat at the edge of your bed, pointing to the leather journal. And you would pull out two pages, hand him a pen, and sit back-to-back on the floor. Every time, without fail.
Pavitr opened the book, running a hand along the pages of handwritten letters that were unevenly glued or stapled in. Some were tearing at the edges, others had chai-stains or ink splotches.
He carefully pulled out a page - only one this time - and picked up a pen from the mug of stationery on your bedside table.
Pausing to think for a second, he tested the pen on the bottom of the page. Then moved the tip to the first line.
Dear Y/N,
Pavitr stopped and narrowed his eyes at that. It felt strange, almost alien for some reason. A foreign word on these pages.
He tapped his pen on the page as he got an idea. He scratched out the two words he had written, addressing it to someone with a different yet more familiar title, at least to him.
To: The Best Didi In The World.
I know very little about the antyesti process so if anything’s wrong don’t hesitate to correct me! <3
Glossary:
Antyesti - Antyesti literally means "last sacrifice" or "final auspicious ceremony", and refers to the funeral rites for the dead in Hinduism, which usually involves cremation of the body. This rite of passage is the last samskara in a series of traditional life cycle samskaras that start from conception in Hindu tradition.
Saree/Sari - A saree is a garment consisting of a length of cotton or silk elaborately draped around the body, traditionally worn by women from South Asia. It is usually worn with a blouse that exposes part of the midriff, but blouse styles can vary.
Dupatta - A length of material worn arranged in one or two folds over the chest and thrown back around the shoulders, typically with a salwar kameez or a kurta, worn by women from South Asia. (Srry guys u have to look up those two definitions if ur curious,, it’s better to see how it looks rather than read a description anyway)
Kancha - Kancha is played by using marbles. It is popular in small Indian cities and villages, among small boys only as a gully sport. It is rarely played by girls. The participant has to hit the marble kept in a circle. If he hits the target properly, he wins. The winner gets the kancha (maybe kanche is the plural form? idk) of the other participant boys.
Lagori/Pithoo/Seven Stones - Lagori is a traditional game from the Indian subcontinent. It involves a pile of stones and a ball.
A member of one team (the seekers) throws a ball at a pile of stones to knock them over. The seekers then try to restore the pile of stones while staying safe from the opposing team's (the hitters’) throws. The hitters' objective is to hit the seekers with the ball before they can reconstruct the stone pile. If the ball touches a seeker, that seeker is out and the team which the seeker came from continues, without the seeker. A seeker can always safeguard themselves by touching an opposite team member before the ball hits the seeker.

Try Me
part 3
part 1, part 2
minors dni pls!! 🔞 (I will find you)
I wrote this because I'm having writers block and I don't feel like working on my Abby fic rn lol. I also have been bed ridden with a weird cold so there's that. There's barely any plot here it's literally just porn.
content warnings: Dealer! Ellie (sort of), teasing, dom! Ellie, Sub! reader, Fem! reader, Fingering (r! receiving), dirty talk, mentions of drugs, and as always no use of y/n
word count: 1.6k
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you’re back. Staring at the number “400”. The three brass digits you know all too well nailed on the chipped, rust colored door. It’s been about a week since your last interaction. The interaction that you can’t think about without your cheeks turning bright red. The interaction that had you hands down your lace panties every night since then, biting your lips, barely able to contain your moans. God, you needed her so bad.
This time you weren’t sure why you were here. She just kind of asked you to come over text. The words “come over.” lighting up on your phone screen under her name. It’s embarrassing how quickly you agreed with no questions asked. I mean after what she did for you last time, she could ask you to eat dirt and you’d do it willingly.
You finally knock twice and patiently wait for the door to open. You hear footsteps approaching and the door swings open to reveal Ellie. She was in her usual skinny jeans and tank top, but no flannel. Her toned muscles and tattoo are perfectly on display. Your mouth becomes dry and you have to swallow before speaking.
“Hi.”
“Hey.” She’s smiling, looking you up and down. You're wearing your usual pajama shorts and sweatshirt, but this time you took extra care to put on a matching bra and pantie set, just in case. It was desperate and weird, but the payoff could be worth it.
Ellie was looking at you with this intimidating hunger that almost made you want to put on a second sweatshirt. You smile back at her and she turns to her side to let you in. You start to make your way towards the couch again when Ellie grabs your wrist and tugs you towards her. You stumble right into her chest and look up at her green eyes. Her hair was messily framing her face and you could make out the freckles dotting her nose. She was breathing a bit heavy, you could feel her chest heaving against yours.
“God I missed you.” She doesn’t give you time for a response before she lightly grabs your jaw and kisses you. Hard. Her lips are so soft and warm and inviting you melt into her, unable to control your body’s reaction. She pulls away still breathing heavily and looks deep into your eyes with that same hunger.
“Bedroom.” You just nod in response, that kiss rendering you momentarily speechless. She makes her way to what you had assumed was the bedroom holding your hand to guide you.
“We can smoke later, but this needs to happen now before I lose my mind and end up accidentally ripping your pretty clothes.” You feel the wetness between your legs grow at her comment.
“Well I’m glad you aren’t planning on destroying my clothes. They’re the only ones I brought.” You smile a little.
Ellie sits down on the bed and grabs your hips so you're standing between her spread legs. She runs her hands down from your hips to your thighs and says “That just makes me want to destroy them more.” She looks up at you and smirks.
She runs her fingers along the hem of your shorts and slowly moves them down. Her warm hands tickle your skin as she tugs your pajamas downwards. She lets the shorts pool at your feet and takes a moment to stare at your lace underwear. She places a few kisses along the waistband gently and then looks back up at you. Her warm hands are lightly gripping your hips, keeping you steady. She runs her hands along the hem of the sweatshirt and says “Take this off for me princess.”
You obey and tug the sweatshirt up over your head and discard it on the floor. Ellie looks you up and down with surprise and an increased desire to rip your clothing.
“You dressed up all pretty for me?” She smirks and even as she’s sitting below you she intimidates you.
“Maybe.” You breathe out now a bit embarrassed.
“Admit it.You were craving this again from the moment you left.” She says with an evil smile. “You’ve stuffed your cute little hands down your panties countless times thinking about me huh?” You can’t even respond to that, she was too right.
She laughs and looks back down at her hands grazing your underwear, “Don’t worry I haven’t been able to get your pretty moans out of my head.”
“Really?” You’re genuinely shocked considering you really didn’t do much for her during your last encounter. She had you too blissed out to even offer.
She moves from her position on the edge of the bed to sitting propped up against the pillows at the head of the bed. “Yea, really. Now come here princess.” She gestures between her legs. You move so you're leaning up against her chest, her warm body radiating against you. She starts kissing her way down your neck while her hands move to your stomach. Her soft hands grope your breasts massaging the soft skin, causing you to let out a breathy sigh.
“So perfect for me.” She whispers roughly into your neck. Her voice causes you to whimper hips bucking up from the ache building between your legs. She moves her hands down your stomach and grazes them on top of your panties. Teasing her fingers across the lacey material. You begin to squirm a bit involuntarily but she stills you by casting her other arm across your lower belly.
“Stay still for me, pretty girl. I want to take my time with you this time.”
“Ok,” You breathily reply. You have to grip the bed sheets at the sound of her demanding voice.
She cups your cunt roughly and you let out a soft moan in response to the pressure. You lean your head back on her shoulder trying not to buck your hips up into her hands.
“God you just do exactly what I ask, don’t you, my good girl?” She mutters before kissing your neck, sucking lightly. “You can move against me princess, make yourself feel good.” You sigh in relief and begin lightly rocking against Ellie’s hand desperate for any kind of relief. You start to grind a little faster against her letting out a soft moan at every little movement. Ellie moves her hand up and down your slit still on top of your soaking panties. She moves her finger in slow circles on your clit and you’re not sure how much more you can take. Your hands grip the sheets harder, you’re convinced you’re going to rip them with how frustrated you are.
“Please.” You whimper out, unable to contain your need for her to touch you where you needed her.
“Gonna need you to beg a bit harder than that princess.” You can hear the snarkiness in her voice, but it didn’t change your desperation.
“Please Ellie, Please, I’ll do whatever you want just please.” With that Ellie pulls your panties to the side and swipes a finger up your slit. She moves her finger up and down collecting the wetness that had pooled between your legs. Without warning she starts moving your clit in circles with her finger. You moan out in relief, finally the ache between your legs was being tended to. She moved her finger slowly massaging your clit gently. When your breathing started to pick up she started moving her finger a bit faster. Ellie moved her finger down to circle your tight entrance. Once you opened up for her she slowly inserted her finger into your cunt. You moan as she curls her finger upwards repeatedly, hitting you right where you needed her. She inserted a second finger and you let out a whine as your muscles stretch and contract around her fingers. She starts moving her fingers in and out of you faster, hitting that spongy spot so perfectly you can’t even manage to make any noise. Just when you’re convinced you can’t take anymore she takes her thumb and starts moving your clit in slow circles. This almost sends you over the edge. Your back started to arch and a loud moan was forced out of you at every thrust of her fingers.
“Ellie I’m gonna..” You whine out.
“Not until I say pretty girl.” She spreads your legs out further, hooking hers around yours. She thrusts her fingers inside you even harder, hitting you right at that spongy spot so hard you see stars.
“Ellie I can’t..” You beg, not sure how much longer you can last.
“Alright, come for me princess.” Almost immediately your muscles violently contract around Ellie’s fingers, your hips bucking up against her hand. You squint your eyes shut at the overwhelming pleasure coursing through your body. Ellie fucks you through the whole thing, never slowing down. Your body goes through waves of pleasure that cause you to moan embarrassingly loud. “That’s it, so, so perfect.”
You start to come down and Ellie still doesn’t let up, you have to grab her tattooed arm to get her to slow down. She eventually pulls her fingers out of you. She brings them up to her mouth and sucks them clean, humming with satisfaction. She gently grabs your jaw and turns you so she can kiss you. She’s gentle and warm and soft and you are sure you must have melted into a puddle of your former self. Your limbs feel like jelly and all you can feel is Ellie. All you can hear is your breathing synchronized with hers and you could fall asleep right here.
“Could use a nap.” You murmur.
“You can sleep here, we just have to get ya cleaned up a bit.” You nod weakly.
“It’s your turn next time, okay?” You manage to slur out sleepily. You feel like you owe her at this point. Although, she doesn’t even give you a chance before she has you incapacitated.
“I’ll do whatever you want, princess.”
good night lovie dovies! lmk what you think! As always any Ellie or Abby requests are welcome 💕🪷

on the brink of death
warnings: angst, swearing, y/n watches steve shower (nothing sexual happens)
steve harrington x reader (using she/her pronouns)
send requests pls
the group felt like they were hit by a truck... if the truck was a bunch of psycho bat creatures and a dude named Vecna was plotting to destroy the town of Hawkins, Indiana.
the car ride home was silent. steve was furious at her, his girlfriend, amongst his friends to put themselves in danger to save him, when he told them repeatedly that he was going to be okay.
it was still dark out, her watch read 10:38PM. Luckily, no one in the car should get in trouble since they aren't out past their curfew. She stared out the window, staring at the trees and other landscapes. As the minutes went by, the car had less people in it as they were all "safe" in their homes.
"Do you want to stay with me, tonight? Parents aren't home," Steve said softly.
She looked over at him and nodded.
He pulled slowly up his driveway and put the car in park. It was dark out now that the lights were out. She heard Steve get out of the car, she quickly followed him up to the front door, closing and locking it behind her. She watched as he walked up the stairs and took off the vest that Eddie gave him so he wasn't half-naked in the upside down. He chucked it in his laundry bag and went into the bathroom to turn the shower on. He stripped off the rest of his dirty closed and got in the shower. She could tell he was pissed off since he didn't ask if she wanted to join him.
She closed the toilet seat and sat down on top of it. Yes, she was also as dirty as he was, she could wait. She rested her chin on her knee and watched through the fogged-up glass as her boyfriend washed the dirt and grime off his body. She heard the water turn off as he looked at her and rid his body of water.
"are we going to talk about it?" she asked.
"Talk about what?"
"What you do mean 'talk about what?' what happened tonight."
"Look, I don't want to, okay? It was pretty fucking stressful, for me especially. So, just go shower and let's go to sleep."
"What? You don't think I was stressed? Watching the boy i love dive deep into the dark water of Lover's Lake? Not knowing if he was going to come back up? THEN watching you get sucked back down? You have no idea how worried I was for you, Steve Harrington. You can't do this to me."
"I TOLD YOU to stay on the boat... whatever you see or hear. I would have been fine."
"Clearly not, had to beat the fuck out of some demoboats in order for them to stop eating your insides," she screamed, tears coming out of her eyes as she had to say those words.
He hung his head, reminding himself of the large scar on his side.
She huffed, walking over to his side of the bed, and sat down next to him.
"I know you wanted to be the hero, Steve, but it's just not possible, not in this situation. You can't handle this on your own and we were there to help you."
"No, I don't want you there."
"Why not?"
"BECAUSE," raised his voice, causing her to jump, then he instantly regretted it, "Because, I've never met a girl quite like you before. You're very special to me and I really don't want to lose that."
"Hey, listen, you're scared, i'm scared, we're all fucking scared. However, it's up to us to fight Vecna, to fight the demobats, you can't do it alone Steve, hate to break it to you, but that's the way it is. I know you want to protect me and want what's best for me, but I care about you too steve."
The room was silent for a few moments, she knew that Steve knew she was right.
As she was getting up to get a shower when he stopped her. He got up with her and kissed her passionately. Both hands were pressed to her face as her hands rest on his chest. His forehead rested on her.
"Just... don't leave me, okay? I want to have a life without you outside this stupid town."
"Never."

💿Holo, love!💿 I really love ur content it makes me laugh every time. I'm being tortured by my period cramps rn so could you pls aot boys+girls reaction to y/n having period cramps (it's not essential for them to be in a relationship btw)
Thank you so much in advance - may the inspiration never leave you
I love YOUR content 😭🥰 sorry these were a little late I’m fighting demons rn (Aka ear infection *sobs*)
These can be read as romantic or just best friendship!
AOT Period comfort
Eren-
At first he wouldn’t get it 😐
Mikasa’s periods were always light and he didn’t pay attention to his mom’s periods like that and he’s also a dumb boy, so when he sees you in pain like that he’s like “wtf, get up”
Immediately regrets it if you start tearing up.
You tell him it’s your period and it really hurts and he’s like “ohh 😧 I see 🤔” meanwhile he’s panic texting Mikasa like “help wtf is a midol ‼️”
He has the spirit though, will literally do whatever you ask, treats your period like it’s an unpredictable beast holding you hostage 😭
Mikasa-
Like I said I think she’d have light periods (Ackerman blood 😵💫) so she wouldn’t know exactly what to do at first if your cramping really badly, but she’s a quick learner!!
MASSAGE QUEEN she’s so fucking good at it omg.
Makes you drink water non-stop, at the tiniest mention of any sort of pain she’s giving you pain meds. Literally wants to call out of work that week to take care of you 😷
Armin-
PANICS
He knows what to do, like in theory. But the moment he sees you in pain, all knowledge will fly out the window.
Hot water bottles. He owns like 30 of them, they are all yours now.
Any time he sees something online that’s like “this (item) helps with period relief” he panic buys it 😭
Like he knows it might not do anything but what if it does!! He doesn’t want to risk it.
Starts tracking your period for you and warns you when it’s coming up 💀
Sasha-
Probably also has her period 🗿
She’s so clingy so of course you guys have synched 😭 if your cramps are bad expect her to show up to your place with a bunch of foods that are high in vitamins (like bananas and broccoli) and a container of gummy vitamins for you both to share. Like the two of you are just eating banana bread and cheesy broccoli for the whole week.
Jean-
King would treat you like glass at first.
Like obviously you’re in pain so you wouldn’t mind being treated gently but he starts to (almost) take it too far (like gets stressed out if you roll over too fast). He eventually eases up but still doesn’t want you moving around too much. Like he very much doesn’t want to see you in pain. Buys you one of those stuffed animals that you can put in the microwave to help you 🥺
Connie-
He has a younger sister so he’s prepared. Will massage your back 🥰 you guys will be staying in and watching YouTube together. Touch is his love language so be prepared for him to act like your own personal heating pad. Has a note in his phone labeled ‘y/n period things’ so he knows what snacks you like and what you don’t like because he doesn’t want to forget.
Reiner-
Worse than Jean 🗿 will not let you go anywhere like literally you are only allowed to go to the bathroom. The first time he saw to cry because of cramps his heart BROKE and he’s so scared of seeing it again. Has heating pads and pain meds in his house that are only for you (and occasionally Gabi).
Levi-
Is surprisingly chill about it
Like you’d expect him to hate everything that had to do with periods because,,, it’s messy. But he doesn’t care.
If you bring it up to him he tells you period blood is cleaner than dirt. Which he’s correct but also whAT A WEIRD THING TO SAY⁉️⁉️⁉️
He’ll get you whatever you need, even if you just want his company.
(If he sees you cry over a cramp he vaguely wonders if it’s possible to beat up your uterus for doing this to you 🗿)
Hange-
Like Armin I feel like they would panic
Like seeing you cringing and holding your stomach, they’d be like “omg they’re dying?!?”
It turns into you comforting them over it 😐
The next day they come to you and are like “ SO I stayed up all night researching uteruses and periods!! 😄”
Gives you a detailed report.
Now they know EXACTLY what to do, like they can sooth a cramp in seconds it’s actually wild! And they’re really proud of it lmao. Deadass the best person to go to if your period is super painful.

Little things they do to make you know they like you
Druig x reader , Thena x Reader , Makkari x reader
A/N: i rlly love these kinds of things pls .... LIKE THE SUBTLE THINGS PPL DO WHEN THEYRE INTO U its just so JSJSJJSJ anys enjoy hihi also thena in that gif CHUFFUICJFF
CONTENT: just fluff heh
DRUIG
he always eats in the movie and its just so adorable
so i feel like he'd be the type of person who'd share his food and steal food from you often
its kind of your thing yk
you both try your best in stealing each other's food
one time you're talking with Sersi about the festivities, eating a local delicacy in your hands when Druig suddenly sneaks up behind you and grabs a bite before running off. You and Sersi can only stare in disbelief.
or that other time Druig was enjoying a meal with Makkari, the speedster already noticing your presence but can only prevent a smile from forming as she let you do whatever you needed to do. You immediately grab his plate before running off behind Thena. Druig marches after you, playfully trying to grab you from behind the warrior.
There are also times where he just slides food towards you or when you're near him, he'd just hold a piece near your mouth and its basically just him feeding you
people look at you like wow you're still not together after being this cringe
likes to mess with your hair
lowkey bullies you cuz he likes you but like not that extreme where u hate him or something
when its just you both, hes just very touchy
he gives long hugs and buries his face on ur neck cause its comfy
tells u its a recharge
unknowingly brushes off any dirt on you or fixes ur hair like its an instinct and goes ??? when people look at him with a knowing expression
when its a bad day and maybe you're the type of person who likes to vent, he's a really good listener
if not he just leans close to you or just sticks w you to let you know he's there
smiles a lot when you're around him
people KNOW he treats you differently
when he wants to get you a gift and the person who's lucky enough to get stuck with him (its mostly Makkari) will have to hear his endless "will Y/N like this? or this or this" "this looks like it'll match with their eyes but what about—"
yeah.... really talkative about you
likes to poke you in the most random of places
YK THAT ANNOYING THING WHEN SOMEONE CALLS YOU AND YOU TURN AND THEIR FINGER JUST POKES UR CHEEK
yeah hes like that
you get annoyed but he just calls you beautiful and then you're all lahdkfkfkdjamsmxkskkskcjf
PETNAMES
hes very creative
you can have like a list of the different pet names he called you over the years
but eventually just sticks to hun, love, beautiful
people always think you're together but yeah no
i mean theres something but yk gotta go w the flow
in the end its druig who finally asks you out
MAKKARI
sugar mommy slash j
she always gives you stuff and you'd ask why and she always says it reminds her of you
but sometimes you're kind of scared fbi or cia would burst through your door bc most of the things she'd bring you looks expensive
Makkari assures you its not
but with Druigs tales about Makkari stealing stuff you're kinda skeptical about it
but nonetheless you have a cabinet in your home filled with the stuff she gives you
those are definitely artifacts worth billion of dollars if found
likes to bring you to places that are like hidden gems
you dont know how she found the place but its beautiful and shes beautiful and you're in love
likes the hidden romance between you two
the brush of hands when walking past each other, the lingering glances, inside jokes
y'all tryna be like romeo and juliet or smn EVERYONE KNOWS OKAY.
you guys leave post it notes or letters for each other when y'all are busy
Makkari just puts a post it on your mirror before going to wherever and it just puts a smile to your face
"Morning, my moon. Have a great day today :)"
SHESJJDODOSOXKDKC
Makkari reads a lot and likes to talk about it so whenever you guys hangout she just talks on and on and on and on and you're there like :)
FUCKJEJCF THE MEME
always goes to you first
its either you or druig
you're attached to the hip..... Kingo is always tryna know if y'all r together or smthng
y'all r so fun together i swear
yk the bring me game
yeah but make it extreme
you ask her for something and just for the laugh of it she runs to the next country to get it for you
and you're like where is it this time
back to the artifact things, Makkari is usually pretty strict about her stuff and no one not even Druig can freely touch it or smn
well except you
this one time the eternals visited the two of you and they were talking about one of Makkari's artifact heists and you're like oh this one ? then proceeds to hold out said item and they're like WAIT PUT IT BACK W— and Makkari enters the room, stares at you before smiling
spoiled i cant
in the end you both ask each other out at the same time and its funny and u end up laughing abt it for days
THENA
DJCJRKFKSKSKKXKDKKCKXK
sorry shes just rlly beautiful
anys if you've read my one shot of her joining a hunt tysm
but basically she shows off whatever she's able to kill
ITS KIND OF ????? but like hear me out
Thena takes pride in her skills and whenever shes able to use it, she shows off her work
like for example, if you're an eternal, whenever she'd kill a deviant, she'd walk over to you and tell you what she achieved and you'd give her a praise and she melts.
also for like survival purposes and she brings home the results of her hunt, she just smiles at you expecting you to praise them
you had to give her a lecture that she shouldn't do that anymore cause poor animals
very protective
both of you were doing groceries and someone managed to knock a couple of items off the shelf and she just summons a spear, ready to attack. the person almost died of a heart attack and you had to lecture Thena again
craves for your attention
just .... stares at you bc she can't find it in herself to tell you what she wants
you're confused at first but then it just clicks
thena is a v cute cat
Unintentionally sticks herself to you
Thena does not know personal space when it comes to you
She doesn't even notice it herself
you almost die from the shock when Thena suddenly appears next to you, very very close to your face
tells you everything
if you're curious about stuff, she tells you with no hesitation
however if its info from someone she trusts for example you'd want to know something about Gilgamesh or Druig or any of the Eternals
she'd try to give info but not fully disclose stuff bc she stays true to her word
Allows you to rest on her lap or lean against her
she is surprisingly comfortable to lean on
you'd fall asleep easily and not get disturbed bc she's on protect mode and glares at people who are too loud
she wants to try stuff for you
she stuck her hand in a toaster once bc she wanted to make you breakfast and you just screamed in terror
never again
anys shes the one who asks you out and u just kiss tf out of her
posted anotha one. TY FOR THE LOVE ON MY TWO WORKS. ill be posting more hehe hoped you enjoyed this lol

Bustin’ Makes Me Feel Good (Egon Spengler x Reader) [18+]
A/N: Hello all! This is my first time posting a fanfic on here so forgive me if it looks janky. I usually only write and keep it private, but everyone seemed hungry for more Egon Spengler fics! So, here is the start of my hard work. If you guys could, please leave suggestions for future "experiments" for Y/N and Egon! And perhaps provide notes or helpful tips if you feel so inclined. warnings: smut, minors dni, unprotected sex (pls use protection I do not condone unprotected sex!!), sex experiments, Possessive!Egon, Gentle!Egon, tiny bit of cunnilingus, dic suck, p in v sex, leaving marks word count: 3,816
Chapter 1: The Start of the Experiment
It was late, and after Janine was done doing her half of the paperwork for the business, she bid you goodnight. You were lagging behind, not sure if it was because you’d only had one cup of coffee or that it was Thursday. You were so close, yet so far from the weekend. But then again, the work at Ghostbusters HQ was never over. Constant calls in the dead of night, explaining why everyone in the office seemed to be in a prolonged state of fatigue. You sighed, filling out forms and organizing them in the filing cabinets at your side. You got up, having a dozen pages left, to go make some coffee and wake yourself up. Once you arrived in the kitchen area, you noticed Egon sipping on his own mug of the dark caffeinated beverage. He had already made a pot. You should’ve expected that of the sleepless scientist, constantly snacking and drinking coffee to continue his research. You grabbed a spare mug from the cabinet, one that was your favorite color, and filled it with hot coffee. You added some creamer and sugar before sitting across the table from the lanky doctor.
“Still running tests?” you asked, taking a sip of your drink quietly, savoring the taste.
“Of course. Our work is never done and there is always more to know,” he said contently, his fingers gently tapping the handle of his mug.
You hypnotically watched his hands, your mind wandering off into the night and leaving your body sitting completely still, your hands around your mug. Once Egon had realized you were dissociating, he moved his mug aside and sat forward, his hand reaching to yours. He knew the risk would be that he would scare you, but he figured the likelihood of that was low considering how sleepy you seemed. Once his hand touched yours, your eyes blinked rapidly, scanning your surroundings until you landed on Egon in front of you.
“You seemed lost,” he stated.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to space out on you.”
“No need to apologize. Dissociation can happen when one is fatigued.”
He retracted his hand slowly as you gripped the handle of your mug and readied yourself for another sip. You closed your eyes and held the mug up to your nose to smell the coffee, then took another swig. You refocused on him and put your mug down.
“Do you do that too or are you just kept awake by science?” you asked jokingly.
“I tend to eat a lot of snacks. Also, I lose track of time. Aren’t you almost done with your work though?” he asked. “I’d cover for you if you want to leave and get a proper eight hours.”
You thought for a moment but wanted to impress him. “No, no. I really should get the paperwork done so it doesn’t pile up on top of the workload in the morning.”
“Well if you’d like, you can come into my lab to finish your coffee before returning to your work.”
It was odd that he made the offer, but you certainly weren’t going to turn it down. You were curious about what all was in his lab and what he was gathering data on. “I’d love to.”
You stood with him, your mug in your hands as he finished his coffee and placed his mug in the sink before sticking his hands in his lab coat pockets and leading the way to his lab down the hall. You carefully followed him, keeping his pace and holding your mug tightly, so as not to drop it. You went up the stairs to his lab, and right as you met the threshold of the doorway, the smell of earth, dirt, and metal hit you in the face. It was somehow comforting and warm, though that was probably because of the heat lamps he had over his growing fungi on the shelves. He walked over to his collection on the shelves and gave a small smile to the growing organisms. You could tell he was proud of his collection and indeed enjoyed watching these things grow. You thought to an extent it was adorable, even if you didn’t understand it fully. You scanned the bookshelves, seeing many books on anatomy, botany, and other fields of study. Some more recent reads were stacked and opened on his desk, one catching your eye, called Human Sexual Response.
“It’s very comfortable in here,” you commented, looking from his face to the gadgets and wires and hunks of metals he was using to make machines in the room. “I’m honestly surprised you wouldn’t fall asleep in here.”
“Well, it’s warm enough to keep my collection thriving. Though I usually run cold, so it’s warm enough to keep my body heat within a normal range,” he explained, walking toward an island table that held what looked like an upgraded version of the PKE reader that Egon had used for many ghost hunting trips.
“Well, Dr. Spengler, I do adore your lab. I wish my desk was as nice,” you said longingly, setting your mug down on the surface.
“Then perhaps you could rethink your choice of a job. You could become a lab assistant, if you’re interested. I admit I may need help in here soon with the amount of work we’ve been picking up.”
You approached him carefully, getting closer than you usually would. “Well, Dr. Spengler, your lab isn’t the only thing I’d love about a job like this.”
He scanned you with keen and clever eyes, a small smirk tugging at the corners of his lips. He had been reading the research of Dr. Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson, which had made him wonder if sex was as formulaic as they had written. Maybe this was his chance to test the findings of Dr. Masters with his own experience. Your hand touched his shaven cheek, snapping him out of his thoughts. His eyes met the heat of your gaze, as your other hand rested on his sweater vest-covered chest. You felt the beat of his heart increase, and the breaths he took were more shallow.
“Y/N. Are you sure you…want me? If this is going to happen, I have some conditions,” he said, his hands now caressing your forearms.
“I want you, Dr. Spengler. What do you need from me?”
“You need to be my lab assistant. You’re obviously too curious to be behind a desk. Peter will find more help for Miss Melnitz, I’m sure.”
“Yes sir. But what do I need to do for you to have me now?” you asked, the hand on his chest gliding down his pec and to his side.
“I think tonight we’ll start with heart rate before and after coitus,” he managed, a shake in his voice as if your touch made him tremble. He too was human, and even if he tried to act like he wasn’t, he still had desires like his friends.
He reached his right hand to your neck, two fingers resting on your pulse point as his eyes trained on his watch to check your beats per minute. He stayed still, breathing quietly through his nose as you stood frozen for him. You could feel yourself getting excited. He was going to fuck you. In his lab.
“58 BPM,” he said, turning away from you to a notepad on his desk as he scrawled the information down, making sure to label it properly so it wouldn’t be another number written on the sheet. He stayed turned away from you as he took his own heart rate. You drank in the sight of his fluffy dark hair atop his head, his collared shirt covered with a sweater vest that smelled earthy, and his grey slacks that showed his shapely backside.
After he had written his down messily, he turned around to face you. “We need a flat surface, unless you’d like to perform this in an unusual way. Though, I’m not sure how much that would affect my results,” he said, his eyes wandering from yours to the steel table behind you. He was getting caught up in his thoughts here, while you were excited from anticipation.
“Dr. Spengler—” you started before he corrected you softly.
“Please, call me Egon, since we’re alone.”
“Egon,” you corrected yourself. “If we’re doing this for research, surely you’d like to include variables other than visual and audible stimuli. The position can be factored in as well. I’m perfectly comfortable as long as you’re here.”
He had looked from the floor to your face again once you started speaking his language. Science. Stimuli and scientific method speak. His gaze was curious and hungry.
“You have a point,” he muttered.
He took two steps toward you, closing the gap of space between your bodies. His hands cautiously rested on your waist, his fingers not sure what to do other than brush your shirt up for skin-to-skin contact. A shiver ran down your back at the coolness of his thin fingers. Your arms snaked up his chest and around his neck, your fingers brushing his fluffy hair at his nape. You leaned in, stopping just shy of his lips and grinning. His eyes were half-open, looking at your lips before he closed the space that was left. The kiss was soft at first, warm and inviting. But as you got heated, the kiss increased in intensity as you began to move your tongue along his lip. He complied and opened his mouth, clashing tongues with you. You were so close, that you could feel the heat emanating off of his groin and the thump of his heart against his ribs. Once you broke the kiss, you started to peel off his sweater vest, your fingers gliding down to mess with the hem as you pulled it up. He followed your movements and smoothly took it off, setting it on the desk behind him as he studied you. His hands went for your shirt, pushing it up and off your torso, revealing your lack of a bra.
“Oh,” he chirped, his cheeks turning pink. He obviously wasn’t expecting that to be missing. He awkwardly looked away.
“Egon, you can look at them. Hell, you can touch them. I guess I should've warned you.”
“Is this something you do often? Omit this article of clothing?” he asked, his eyes slowly crawling back up to gaze at your chest.
“When I can, yes. Some bras are very uncomfortable.” He nodded in response, understanding. You imagined he probably took a mental note.
Your hands gently grabbed his wrists and guided his hands up to cup your breasts. His fingers weren’t as cold as they had been, but they were still cool enough to make your nipples go hard. You softly gasped as he delicately brushed the tender skin of your chest. As you reveled in his touch, your hands had found the tie around his neck, working the knot out of it and pulling him close with it before you removed it from his shirt. Your fingers next found the top button of his collared shirt, undoing each of them, showing more and more flesh. His hands had begun to massage and toy with your nipples, drawing purrs from your lips. Once his shirt was unbuttoned, he leaned toward you to kiss you again before he lined your neck with kisses, occasionally suckling hard to leave a mark. He grazed your breasts with his lips and nose before arriving at a nipple and letting his tongue circle it. You trembled, feeling yourself become wetter for this nerdy scientist who was appearing to be a great lover as well.
“Egon,” you breathed, your hands clutching the back of his head, his soft curls intertwining with your delicate fingers. He released your nipple from his mouth and gazed up at your euphoric face.
“Something the matter?” he asked, raising his eyebrows.
You shook your head, loving the pace this was going, but at the same time longing for him to fuck you into next week. “I want to see you. I know you’re modest, but you’ve only got your tie off while I’m already topless.”
His face turned a little pink and pulled his sleeves off to remove his shirt from his body, revealing a toned but not too toned body shape. He obviously got enough exercise doing ghostbusting, but he did make up for it by eating Cheez-Its and Twinkies. “I apologize. Is this arousing for you? To see me without a shirt?”
You mentally facepalmed. He had to be joking. You nodded, biting your lip at the sight of his smooth skin, his light patch of chest hair as fluffy as the hair on his head.
Another mental note taken, he set his shirt on his desk, holding your gaze until you broke it to see where your hands would touch. His chest was soft but solid underneath the layer of skin and little fat. You felt his sides, each rib felt on your way down to his hips as he shuddered beneath you. You snuck a glance downwards and could tell his erection had to be getting painful. He noticed your glance and took the opportunity to surprise you by lifting you up and sitting you on the edge of the cool table behind you. It was solid wood, slightly colder than the room surrounding it. You squeaked when he lifted you, your hands grasping his shoulders as his hands firmly grasped your waist. Then, those magic fingers of his began to pull on your dress pants, and you shifted to help him get them off. Once they had fallen to your ankles, he roughly folded them and put them where his shirt was on the desk. The dampness between your legs was visible on your mid-colored underwear, the waistband lacey and soft. Your panties had soaked through, getting your thighs damp now, which sent a tingle down your spine at the chill in the air without your pants. This was happening.
Egon kissed you again, grunts from his chest being heard between each one, your hands holding his freshly-shaven face. One of his hands had found your heat, the pressure from his hand on your mound making you shift up into it. He rubbed and felt your folds through the underwear, a grin crossing his face as he broke the kisses and moved his head to kiss your navel, stopping just short of the lace. He played with the hem, hesitating.
“May I?” he asked. As per usual, always the gentleman.
“Yes,” you breathed, “please.”
He took them off gently, as if unwrapping a neat and pristine present. Once he got a look at your core, his face definitely ran hot. He squatted, his hands each taking a leg under your thigh and placing them on his shoulders. His hands reached around the tops of your thighs and caressed them, kissing them up and down before focusing on your quivering pussy. His tongue laid flat over your clit, nearly causing you to buck into his face before his tongue began tracing your labia. You squirmed beneath him, giving Egon the sense that what he was doing was desirable to you. Your fist clenched beside you while your other hand held your breast.
“Ah, oh, Eg-gon,” you stuttered, the pleasure removing cohesive thought from your mind. Your heart was leaping, and just before you could grasp a climax, he stopped. “Egon?”
You looked to where he was, and you saw him looking at your face hungrily. “You make interesting faces when I do this. I had to see them in action…and wanted to see what would happen if I stopped.”
He sounded logical, but still lustfully charged. “May I pleasure you in return?”
He raised his eyebrows. He was so hard, he thought his slacks would tear. He nervously nodded as you sat up, laying on your belly to reach his belt and undo it, pulling his briefs and pants down. His cock sprung free, twitching and begging for attention. It was so red, you couldn’t believe there was still blood spare to go to his face and make it blush. His size was impressive in terms of length. He was girthy around the top and obviously hadn’t shown this part of himself to anyone in a long time. He covered his mouth as he watched you take his penis in your soft hands and guide it to your mouth, the taste of precum coating your tongue. His length throbbed in your mouth, and you knew too much would make him cum before he even had a chance to enter you. He let out a shaking moan, his hands stroking your hair and your shoulders, as if to praise you. You hollowed out your cheeks and let your tongue run along the underside, drawing out a grunt from Egon, followed by a small gasp. You stopped and pulled him out of your mouth, looking up at his euphoric face. You sat up and got back into place, your hips resting on the edge of the table, your hands drifting to find the small of his back to pull him towards you.
“Please, Egon,” you whined, making a face at him as he was caught in his head on the stages of human sexual arousal. His gaze raked you, taking in the sight of your form as if he’d never see it again. But a sly grin crept onto his face as he remembered the arrangement you two had agreed on. You would become his lab assistant and accompany him on this journey of experiments.
“Are you at full arousal?” he asked.
You nodded, your hair trembling on your head. “Are you?”
He grunted in satisfaction, grabbing his cock with his hand and lining up with your heat. He pushed in slowly, his girth spreading and filling you like nothing you’d felt before. You never imagined this would happen, and yet here you were, with Dr. Egon Spengler inside of you. Once he’d buried himself to the hilt, he hummed a moan as you contracted around his length, adjusting to his size. His hands gripped your hips, knowing it would leave a mark on you. He showed signs of possessiveness over you. The question you asked yourself next was, was it because he was aroused or because he actually liked you?
“Please fuck me, Egon,” you pleaded.
He complied, beginning a rhythm of thrusts, his girth hitting just the right spot while the room crowded with the sound of skin-to-skin contact. Your hands covered his on your hips as he gasped for air, each thrust drawing out squeaks and moans in a symphony of pleasure from your mouth. He threw his head back, humming louder until his lips could no longer hold in his sounds of euphoria. Hearing him make these noises because of you drove you wild, your hands reaching for his shoulders to pull him towards you as you sat up. He slowed the pace, panting as you grounded him with your gaze before making him tilt his head again to give you access to his neck. Your lips brushed along his tendons before settling on a spot and suckling on it, leaving a hickey that surely would last a week. He tried to control his breathing, his hips shaking as he desperately wanted to come. You laid down again and he resumed his rhythm, hissing through his teeth as he watched your breasts move to his beat.
“I’m gonna— Egon, right there, there,” you whined, your arms moving above your head, clenching your fists around the air.
“You’re close to orgasm, Y/N,” he huffed. “I’m right behind you.”
“Cum for me,” you begged, a moan ripping through your chest as your orgasm rocked you. Your walls clenched around Egon’s length, as he let himself go, his cum spilling into you. You didn’t think there would be so much, it felt like he had filled your stomach. It was satisfying.
As he came down from his high and refocused on you, he saw your hands cupping your breasts as your chest rose and fell. His rationale returned to him and he quickly took two of his fingers and pressed them to your pulse point on your neck, his eyes (while seeing stars) trained on his watch as he counted in his head. He slowly removed his cock from you before turning around to write down the number he had recorded, then taking his own heart rate. Your eyes were scanning his back when he was turned to you. You could see the hardened muscles that he used to carry his proton pack along his shoulder blades, the line down his spine finally stopped before his round ass cheeks tautly sat below it.
“You have a beautiful ass, Dr. Spengler,” you chuckled, the feeling of his seed spilling out of you giving you a shudder. It was still warm.
“Thank you,” he responded, turning back around so you could take in the sight of his face, chest, and now resting penis. “I think.”
“It is a compliment, Egon. Your behind is very shapely. Most women like a guy with a tight ass like yours.”
“Well, I’ll keep that in mind.”
He gave a small smile, clearly indicating that the dopamine from the sex had not yet cleared his system. “So, when is our next experiment?”
He thought for a moment, thinking about what he would need to gather and read on before the next one. “How does next week sound? It will give me time to gather my materials for further experimentation and for you to get to know your way around the lab.”
“That sounds perfect,” you said, sitting up and sliding your fingers to your slit, getting a drop of cum on your fingers, and sucking it off as he watched intently. The salty taste coated your tongue as your eyes met his. He seemed confused, intrigued, even, but not disgusted.
“I’m not judging you, if that’s what you’re thinking. I was just curious why you did that. Is it sexually arousing or pleasing?”
He could be so linear. “It’s satisfying to taste you. Think of it as…a gesture of pleasure. I enjoyed you.”
“Ah, about that. I forgot to ask if you’re on birth control.”
“I am. No worries.”
“So,” you said, hopping down from the wood table and approaching him as he stood and observed you. “Same time next week?”
He nodded, moving out of your way so you could grab your clothes from the table. This was going to be very informative for him. Not only would he compare his findings against those of Dr. Masters, but perhaps he could learn some other things about human intimacy that couldn’t be measured in numbers or statistics.

A Faded Understanding
Word count: 733
A/N: I’m gonna be honest here. This is very much based on me and my hair. I thought this up as I watched my hair color fade from dark yale-ish blue to a really dark kinda blueish version of my normal brown. This isn’t really a fic, it’s more like an extremely detailed draft.
Warnings: none, unless you need a warning for stupidity because himbos abound in this fic. WAIT, I nearly forgot, there are some F-bombs so be wary
Summary: Your hair dye starts to fade and the company gets… mildly concerned
Tag list: @elvish-sky @kumqu4t @anjhope1
My thanks to @claraofthepen and @elvish-sky for beta reading!
So you joined them after falling from your world with medium blue hair and while everyone was curious, they didn’t ask (and kept the younger/more forward dwarves from asking) because hair is very personal for dwarves and their thought process was basically “we don’t know much about humans in the first place and this one is from another world, it might be normal there or it could be extremely personal, best not to ask”
But then your hair color starts fading and getting darker
They start getting worried “what if she’s not eating enough, is she not sleeping enough, is she not resting enough, what if she’s sad, elves can die of sadness, humans here can’t, but what if humans there can, she seems to like when it rains, is she not getting enough rain, is that it? Her hair is blue and I mean she said it ‘watered her’ but we thought she was just joking, was she not joking, is she not getting enough sun, dirt, water, is she sick, is she dYING WHAT'S HAPPENING TO OUR HUMAN”
So individually they’ve been taking ‘small, unnoticeable’ steps to try and get your hair to retain its color.
Bifur and Glóin both keep walking up to you and checking your forehead with their hand without a word. This has been making you very nervous.
Óin has been asking you how you feel every time you stop for a break, which is just making you even more nervous.
And Bombur keeps giving you extra-large portions of food but you don’t eat all of it, and that just makes them more worried.
Ori has been getting very sad every time he looks at you and you’ve been trying to cheer him up by telling him stories and it’s kinda working??? But not really???? For a couple of minutes the stories will cheer him up and you’ll be like “yes, go Y/N” but then suddenly he’ll look even closer to crying than before and that makes you want to cry. (hint: it’s because he keeps thinking about how if you die you won’t be around to tell him stories anymore)
Bofur has been hanging around you a lot, constantly trying to get you to smile and laugh. He and Balin also keep saying things like “if you ever need to talk… I’m here”. This has left you very confused on numerous occasions.
Thorin has been having the company take twice as many breaks and won’t let you keep watch or help unpack and set up camp like he used to. Kili all but tackled you to keep you from picking up a heavy object and every time you dismount there are at least three dwarves ready to help you down.
The past couple of nights Fíli and Kíli have been rubbing dirt on your arms to see if it’s not enough dirt or something cause they’re both dumbasses so you keep waking up with your arms covered in dirt like “???? wtf”
Basically, none of them know the meaning of subtle.
You’re sitting down to dinner and they keep ‘sneaking’ glances at you. Finally you’re like “ok wtf is going on you’ve all been super weird the past couple of days, what’s up?”
Ori immediately bursts into tears next to you and you’re like “Woah, it’s ok, don’t cry, pls don’t cry, what’s happening, what did I do”
“Please don’t die”
“????? what????”
Thorin: “your hair color is fading and we’ve been worried it means you’re ill or sad”
Y/N: “That’s it?”
Thorin: “What do you mean ‘that’s it’”
Y/N: “My hair dye is just fading”
Dwalin: “Hair… dye?”
Y/N: “Yeah, like the dye you use on leather? It’s like that, only for hair. It just washes away eventually.”
Kíli: “Why did you dye your hair?”
Fíli: “KILI”
Kíli: “WHAT?!?!”
Fíli: “Don’t be rude, it’s probably personal”
Y/N: “actually I just liked how it looked”
Ori: ”So *sniff* you’re not *sniff* dying?”
Y/N: “No, is that why you’ve all been so weird lately?”
Kíli: *scoff* “we haven’t been weird”
Y/N: “...”
Y/N: *has a thought* *thinks about recent ‘dirt on arms’ thing* “Also, WHOMST THE FUCK put dirt on my arms?”
Kíli: *the oh fuck face appears*
Y/N: “Kili… what even was going through your mind?”
Kíli: “… in mY DEFENSE, I THOUGHT IT WOULD HELP!”
Y/N:
Y/N: HOW WOULD THAT HELP
Kíli: I DON’T KNOW

a smol sibling.,
w/ xiao, kaeya, & venti
— • request from anon : being the trio’s younger sibling! (separately)
xiao p1 || kaeya p1 || gn ! sibling ! reader || headcanon format || 1.5k words
; masterlist.,
; a / n - i’ve done xiao and kaeya before, but i had some more ideas so i’m making some more! links above if you’d like to read the others <3
xiao .,
• the other hcs i made for him where general, but here anon specified a younger sibling, so i’ll do that!
• he’s that sibling who’ll pretend ur the most annoying thing on the planet but would do anything for u so much as you ask
• “xiao when u come back could i have some glaze lilies” “get them yourself im the vigilant yaksha not a flower picker🙄” mhm then why did u literally wipe out qingce village’s flower population hm xiao 🤨
• teaches u how to fight!! but he’s not teaching he’s “helping you discover things yourself so you can be a functional person”
• it takes way too much effort to get this man to admit he loves you but you know it as much as he does so it’s okay <3
• cloud retainer has so much dirt on him it’s crazy. if you ever need some blackmail material head over to hers. also you can find some embarassing pictures she’s got a heckton
• verr goldet takes care of u a lot too, xiao’s a great brother and all but he lacks in this department called self care
• idk if you’re mortal or adeptus or half adeptus but if you need to eat and do basic body functions he does not got u covered
• mans would try to raise u on almond tofu until verr goldet bought out a food pyramid and explained about these things called nutrients
• he also doesn’t understand how important sleep is so,,, “xiao i’m gonna stay up” “yeah sure whatever” passing out two days later “y/N WHAT’S WRONG-”
• yeah verr goldet and the innkeeper guy give him a guide to basic survival talk and all through it he’s glaring at you like why did you never tell me you needed human things to live >:(
• now that he knows you need sleep, he makes u sleep at 8 pm every night like a grandpa!! good luck trying to get him to stop!!
• are these getting too guardian-like and less sibling-like??? 😭 but that’s the vibes he gives yk!! ur over protective adeptus parent-brother who has no clue how u work but wants to try to understand a little
• in the game u can tell how much more open he gets wit the traveller as friendship levels progress, and if you’ve maxed it out he’d basically do anything for you and would want you to trouble him than yourself
• and he’ll probably be closer with you than he’ll ever be with traveller since you’re siblings and whatnot, so it would make sense that he looks out for you more than your typical older brother yk
• plays the flute for you!! if he hears u humming a tune under your breath he’ll find it and learn it to play for u
• he may not fully understand how relationships work but he’s trying his best for u <3
kaeya .,
• my other kaeya hcs were in relation to you being close / living with diluc, but these will be more general and central towards kaeya!
• kaeya fits literally every older brother trope that exists. the brother who’s always got ur back? you got it. the brother who keeps secrets you don’t know about from you? heck yeah. the annoying brother who makes u do his chores for him? maybe a little too much.
• pls he (lovingly) shoves all of his small tasks onto u it’s infuriating but you can’t even say no bc then he gets all dramatic
• “y/n 😩 you’re abandonning your dear brother like this 😩 how could you 😩 i didn’t know you were so cruel 😩” sir shut up <3
• since he’s a people person everyone knows u very well too, heck all the senior citizens probably voted u as second best in law after him or smth idk man
• hanging out with best boy bennett!! he canonically sees kaeya as an older brother too so y’all def go on little adventures together <3
• ur one of the only people who have ever looked under his eyepatch, diluc and crepus being the only other two
• sometimes he forgets to take it off when he goes to bed and it leaves a bruise bc it’s pretty tight, so he let’s you change it for him
• “i can do this myself, you know” well he can but you both know he likes it better when you’re there
• does not allow your closet to be anything less than exquisite, you’ve got a bunch of scarfs like his whether you like it for not
• makes u buy his wine from diluc for him bc every time he goes to the tavern diluc raises the price tenfold just for him
• he’s that sibling who will rile you up on purpose just for the fun of it. i have a cousin who used to do that when he was younger and it was annoying but he still adores me sm so i don’t mind <3
• besides even if he does get on ur nerves amber’s got ur back- you can rant to her about him for hours on end and she’ll add with her experiences with kaeya’s bullying
• what are siblings if not for sibling rivalry, yes he picks on u constantly but he also picks u up when you’re feeling low <3
venti .,
• oh my gods he would be sO FUN
• the two of you are the bane of diluc’s existence, venti loops u into his winery pilfering plans a lot
• venti pulls the archon card if the two of you get caught by him idk what excuse you’ve got but it better be good 😭
• no way the god of wind and song’s sibling doesn’t love music- even if you’re tone deaf, or hard of hearing, music is about the pleasure it brings and he’ll bring it to you
• you guys go wind gliding a lot of the time too!! y’all don’t even need gliders you’ve got the power of anemo 😎
• he’s that cool brother who’s only rule is that you do whatever you want to do, life is too short for regrets so live in the moment and be spontaneous!
• even though he’s older he seems much younger than you at heart 😭 will wine if you don’t do something for him it’s hilarious
• you’ve got other things to do and he’s just “but hanging out!!!” and ur like “but work!!!”
• it’s very hard to be productive with him around, he will distract u with something as mundane as an apple- it’s not his fault tho bb just has a poor attention span 😭
• he’s very clingy, if you’re together he’ll link your elbows like everyone did in sixth grade, and in turn u can kick him in the kneecaps when he does stupid things
• he’s the ceo of stupid things so u get to kick him a lot, it’s a mutal symbiotic relationship we love to see it <33
• my brain is dead and i can’t english rn but. his vibes yk he’s so fun to be around, he gives out surprisingly killer advice too
• i have this man’s teapot lines plastered on my wall bc they help me deal with stuff, so if you’re ever down you can always, always, always go to him and he’ll have the exact things to say
• if it’s words, he has them, if it’s silence you need he’ll lend you his shoulder; but there was never an instance he doesn’t leave you better than before
• you haven’t seen his archon side a lot, since he doesn’t show it all that much, but it’s so far from venti it’s a little scary; but in a sort of admiring way yk
• you guys visit zhongli sometimes, and it’s a free real estate for blackmail material bc of how terrified venti is of him
• zhongli is like that long lost uncle who visits once a year, and you’re his favorite child so he gives you candy and picks on venti for not taking good enough care of you
• “i’m their sibling not their parent” “you’re older have some responsibility >:(”
• if you ever get drunk he will hear about it and will come all the way from liyue to i will have order venti’s head, regardless of whether he was the cause of you being drunk or not
• that about wraps it up! im sure i could think of more but my brain is sorta dead rn so this will have to suffice 😭 i can’t think of a closing statement sO i hope u enjoyed!! bye bye!! <3

Picnic Date || S. Blouse
Pairing: Sasha Blouse x GN! Reader
Word Count: 592
Note: UM AFTER TODAYS EVENT LMAO I NEED THIS AND IM SURE YOU GUYS NEED IT TOO? I HOPE YOU ENJOY PLS ALSO V UNEDITED
The soft light peeked through the leaves of the tree, the wind grazing your skin, leaving a warmth touch over your body.
Your eyes are shut, eyelashes tickling the top of your cheek. Your fingers are digging into the earth, the coolness of the dirt rubbing against your hands as the grass around your dances with the wind.
If you're silent enough, you could hear the creaks of the picnic basket opening and closing, the smell of herbs and steam arises from the opening.
Two baked potatoes, some fruit, small strawberry cakes and some noodles.
Those were the foods that Sasha ended up packing for your date.
“Sasha we just got here and you’re going to eat now?”
“Huh?!” She gasps, closing the flap once more when you catch her. “I wasn't doing anything! Promise! I just wanted to check if the food was still ready to be eaten...so good..I can practically taste the steamy goodness on my tongue…”
She’s trailing off, the slightest bit of drool peeking from the corner of her mouth. You watch from half lidded eyes, a small smile adoring your lips. “I was just joking. I’m hungry too.”
As many people would suspect a picnic date to be silent, it’s not with you two. No, both of you are laughing, smiling and nowhere near silent.
Even when Sasha is indulging in her baked potato, she still makes an effort to converse with you, maybe showing little interest in your words.
The tips of your fork poke against the bottom of the plastic container. The noodles are fairly spicy, just the way you like it.
Before coming here, she spent about three hours in the kitchen to perfect everything. Everything had to be precise when it came to food, it was one of the things you loved about her.
When Sasha eats, she has a habit of closing her eyes. It’s cute if you think about it, she’s just savoring the flavor the food gave her.
When the dining was over, Sasha peeked inside the basket once more, her brown eyes locked onto the small strawberry cakes that look delicious at the moment — anything is delicious to her.
“Maybe in a few minutes,” she whispers to herself, more like to the food before shutting it, raising her arms above her head as she grunts, feeling her muscles stretch.
You watch as she moves, lying down beside you on the soft grass. Her hair is down, sprawling underneath her head, the locks swirled like a half. She did look like an Angel.
“You’re so pretty, you know that?” You whisper, reaching out to grab ahold of her hand, squeezing gently as your thumb rubs over her knuckles.
“You always tell me that, Y/N.”
You laugh at her words, knowing she was right but you were right too. She was pretty. Very pretty at that. You could stare at her for hours and not get bored whatsoever.
“Yeah? I meant it, Sasha. You know that.”
She hums in return, looking up through the holes that the leaves left. She exhaled deeply, fluttering her eyes shut as she relaxed, “I know.”
The tranquil silence brings peace between the two lovers. This made it seem like no one exists in the world except you two at this moment.
“Sasha?” You ask quietly
“Hm?”
“I’m glad you’re here with me..I love you.”
“I love you too, Y/N. Maybe meat a bit more.”
“You and your meat huh?”
“Mhm. Don’t worry, I’ll save some love for you too.”

pt 1
pt 11
pt 13
Every time she saw him, the memories of all of their fights and the times he had made her cry over him came flooding back. But she also felt relief in knowing that he was safe and seeing that he was trying to make a change. Needless to say, (Y/N) spent most of her time avoiding Zuko, because her head spun every time she was around him.
To say that (Y/N) was happy to be back with her friends was an understatement. She was absolutely ecstatic. As they flew away from the Fire Nation and to the Western Air Temple, they caught her up on all the adventures they had had while she had been in prison.
“We were hunted by this guy that can shoot, like, supersonic beams from his head,” Toph informed her.
“I call him Combustion Man!” Sokka cut in.
“Toph and I got thrown into jail!” Katara said.
“And I went to Fire Nation school!” Aang called back as he steered Appa.
“I learned to swordfight from the best Master in the Fire Nation,” Sokka said, flexing his bicep. “Pretty impressive, huh?”
“Oh, you met Piandao? He’s so nice! He came to my birthday parties every year when I was younger.” Sokka pouted and leaned back into the side of Appa’s saddle.
“I forget that you lived in the Fire Nation.”
It took days until they reached the temple. As much as she loved Appa, (Y/N) was so thankful to be back on solid ground. She hadn’t worn real shoes in weeks and it was so nice to feel the stone and grass beneath her feet.
This Air Temple was just as breathtaking as the first one she had seen, back when she and her friends had traveled to the North Pole. It was built into the mountain, making it virtually inaccessible from any other way except airbending. It extended across the mountain range. The temples themselves looked as if they had been built upside down.
While her friends set up camp on the main level of the temple, (Y/N) had decided to walk down to the woods where she had seen a river as they flown over. They hadn’t been allowed to shower in their area of the prison, so she had weeks worth of grime and dirt caked onto her skin. She was surprised her friends had held her so tight when she reunited with them. She smelled horrible.
Sokka was hesitant to let her go by herself. “I’ll be fine,” she reassured him. “I can protect myself.”
“I know, but...” He let his sentence trail off, but he didn’t have to finish it. The last time Sokka had left her alone, she had been captured by the Fire Nation and tossed into a prison. He hadn’t been sure if she was alive for weeks. She understood his worry.
She kissed him quickly before smiling. “If I’m not back in an hour, then you can unleash you fury,” she said with a wink, walking away.
She sat in the river for a long time, just scrubbing her skin and combing her fingers through her matted hair. The water felt so nice on her skin. If she could, she would stay in there forever. But she knew Sokka would seriously come swinging down the hill with a sword if she was late, so she dried herself off and put on the Fire Nation clothes that Katara had given her.
(Y/N) slipped on a red, long-sleeved cropped shirt and matching flowy pants. The whole outfit felt light and airy and she couldn’t wait to firebend in it. Kneeling down at the edge of the river, she stared at her reflection as she put her hair into a traditional Fire Nation top knot, but this time with the flame bobby pin she had worn in her old life. She had kept it wrapped in fabric, tucked away in the bottom of Katara’s clothing bag. She hadn’t worn it for almost an entire year, but as soon as she stuck it into place, she felt whole again. There were some parts of her that would always be Fire Nation, and that was okay.
She traveled back up the hill, her hair still wet, but decided she’d just ask Aang to dry it for her. She hoped that Sokka had caught something for them to eat because it had been weeks since she’d had an actual good meal. Fish, rice, and maybe some mashed berries for dessert if they could find some? Her mouth watered at the thought. (Y/N) laughed at herself for a moment. Her palette had drastically changed since she had been traveling with her friends.
Instead of a nice, hot meal, (Y/N) walked back into the Western Air Temple to find all of her friends looking ready to attack. Confused, she turned her head and there he was. The boy she wanted to see least at the moment.
“(Y/N)!” Zuko exclaimed, running over to her. He grabbed her hands in his. “I’m glad you’re okay. I went back to the prison to break you out when I left, but you were gone by the time I got there.”
She pulled her hands out of his as Sokka walked up and shoved Zuko away. “Hey, don’t touch her!” He said, his voice low and threatening.
“Watch it!” Zuko snapped back. He looked at (Y/N) confusedly and she hated that she could still tell exactly what he was thinking at that moment. What’s going on here? He seemed to silently ask, and she averted her gaze as quickly as possible.
“You can’t just show up here and ask for forgiveness after everything you’ve done,” Katara snapped. (Y/N) looked up at Sokka.
“What’s happening?” She asked.
“He wants to join us,” he said, his eyes still narrowed at Zuko.
“I’ve changed,” Zuko said, but this time he directed his words at (Y/N). She tried hard to avoid his gaze.
“Are you crazy? You’ve tried to kill us, multiple times!” Sokka yelled at him.
“And capture Aang!” Katara pointed out.
“Please,” Zuko said. “I’m sorry for everything that I’ve done. I’m sorry for trying to capture you, I’m sorry for trying to kill you, I’m sorry for sending that bounty hunter after you--”
“You sent Combustion Man after us?” Toph questioned.
“I mean, that’s not his name, but yes.”
“The answer is no, Zuko,” Aang said decidedly. “There’s no way that we can trust you.”
“(Y/N)...” Zuko said to her quietly. She crossed her arms and walked away from him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“I think you guys are just holding grudges against Zuko,” Toph said that night at dinner. “Aang needs a firebending teacher.”
“You don’t understand, Toph. You weren’t there for all the destruction he caused,” Katara said as she sipped on her soup. “He betrayed me in Ba Sing Se and he’s hurt (Y/N) more times than I can count.”
“Besides,” Sokka cut in. “(Y/N) can teach Aang firebending!” She shook her head quicky.
“I’m too much out of practice. My family wouldn’t let me get training while we stayed in the Earth Kingdom. I know a couple advanced moves, but definitely not enough to help Aang beat the Fire Lord.” She smiled at Aang apologetically.
“On the one hand, it’s hard to forget everything that Zuko has done to us. But the monks taught me that everyone deserves a second chance,” Aang said.
“And a third and a fourth?” Sokka muttered.
“What do you think, (Y/N)?” Toph asked. “You were pretty quiet when he was here today.”
She stared into her soup to avoid everyone’s gaze. “The truth it, I don’t know how I feel about it. He’s done some pretty awful things. But you need a firebending teacher, Aang. A good one. And as much as I hate to say it, Zuko’s good.”
Sokka stood, his bowl clattering to the ground as he stormed off toward the bedrooms. Katara moved to go after him, but (Y/N) put her hand up. “I’ll do it,” she sighed, setting her bowl down. She walked briskly down the hall to Sokka’s room, where a sliver of light filtered through the door. She slid it open.
“What’s wrong?” She asked. He looked at her, his brows furrowed in anger.
“What’s wrong? You’re out there defending him!”
“I wasn’t defending him, Sokka.”
“Well that’s what it sounded like! After everything he’s done to you, you still want to just forgive him by letting him into our group?”
“Letting him in the group doesn’t mean that I forgive him! It just means that I’m willing to push past my own emotions so that Aang has a chance at beating the Fire Lord!”
“He can do it without firebending.”
“We both know that’s not true.” Sokka sighed and turned away from her.
“I don’t want to constantly be around the reason that I didn’t know whether you were alive or not.” She smiled sadly at him. She walked to his side and intertwined their fingers.
“Technically, Azula’s the reason I got thrown in jail.” She smiled at him until a small smile formed on his own lips. “We don’t have to like him, but we can put up with him for a few weeks until Aang beats Ozai.”
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Once Zuko had defeated Combustion Man, the four friends begrudgingly let him join their group. It was a difficult decision for everyone, especially Katara, because she still held on to the memory of Zuko betraying her in the underground palace of Ba Sing Se. (Y/N) was also very uncomfortable with Zuko joining their group.
She had been laying out the sleeping bags for the night when Zuko approached her. They were completely alone, so there was no one she could run towards as a distraction. She knew he was there but refused to look up at him. He cleared his throat to get her attention.
“I wanted to thank you,” he said. “For letting me join your group.” She raised her eyebrow at him.
“It was Toph’s idea,” she said simply as she unfurled Katara’s sleeping bag.
“I also wanted to say that I’m really sorry for everything I’ve done to you. I didn’t say that when you came to the shop in Ba Sing Se, but I wanted to. And I wanted to apologize for everything else that happened there.”
“Like betraying both me and your uncle after we both had thought you changed? Like letting me rot in prison while you played house with your family?” She saw him physically wince from her tone. “You’re here to teach Aang, Zuko. I have no interest in being your friend.” She laid out the last sleeping bag and walked away in search of literally anyone else.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It took Zuko a while to actually start teaching Aang firebending. Because he had lost the anger he had toward the Avatar, he lost the source of his bending. (Y/N) laughed as she watched Zuko create little puffs of fire with his hands.
“How do you do it, (Y/N)?” Aang asked. She shrugged.
“My firebending teachers always told me that I was very headstrong and determined. I guess that’s where I get the source of my bending from.” She walked away from the conversation just as Zuko opened his mouth to say something else.
He and Aang traveled to the Sun Warrior civilization and (Y/N) would be lying if she said she wasn’t glad to have him gone. Not being around him gave her room to breathe. Every moment he was there, she was thinking of what quip she would give when he tried to talk to her, or the nearest way she could escape if he roped her into a conversation. It was nice to be able to walk around freely without having to worry if Zuko was around.
When Aang and Zuko returned, they both excitedly told the group of their discovery of the two last dragons in existence. (Y/N) was shocked to learn this because in school she had always learned that Iroh had killed the last dragon. She wasn’t surprised to discover that he had done it to protect them. Iroh was conscientious about things like that.
Slowly but surely, Zuko’s relationship with everyone in their group (except (Y/N) and Katara) was starting to improve. Toph had never had anything against him and quickly forgave him for accidentally burning her feet. Zuko was incredibly rough around the edges, but Aang learned to like him during their time with the Sun Warriors. Even Sokka would take Zuko down to the river sometimes and fish with him. They did it mostly in silence, but it was still an improvement from their previous interactions.
Every time Zuko tried to talk to Katara, she shut him down with a harsh comment. (Y/N) either did the same or completely avoided him altogether. He cared about becoming Katara’s friend as well, but it tore him apart inside whenever (Y/N) brushed him off like he didn’t exist. Every night, he lay in bed and thought of the good times they had had together. He thought about building sand castles with her at Ember Island, about attending boring etiquette classes and making silly faces at each other from across the room, and about sneaking into the kitchens on his tenth birthday and stealing fruit tarts for her.
He knew he had caused her a lot of pain, which is why he was trying his best to be patient. But every morning he woke up wanting to talk to her and when she wouldn’t let him, it was like a painful jab to his heart. Whenever he saw her toss her head back and laugh loudly at something one of her friends said, his heart swelled because he loved the noise and sank because he wasn’t the one making her laugh.
Zuko watched from the bank of the river as (Y/N) and Sokka wrestled each other in the water. They couldn’t stop laughing and sometimes Toph would create mounds of earth to come up and knock one of them off of their feet, furthering their laughing fit. He watched as Sokka wrapped his arms around her waist and tossed her into the water.
“So...” Zuko said slowly, his eyes cutting to Aang. The young Avatar sat on the ground beside him, feeding Momo berries and rubbing his belly. “Sokka and (Y/N) are together.” It was phrased as more of a direct statement, but he hoped that Aang would provide him with more information.
“Yeah!” Aang said as he scratched between Momo’s ears. “They’ve been going out for a few weeks now. About time, if you ask me.”
Zuko felt the anger growing inside of him and took three deep breaths to calm himself down. He had had a feeling that the two were more than just friends for a while now. They sat closer together at dinner and if one of them was alone, they always found the other. They acted the way (Y/N) and Zuko had, long before all of this had happened. He had known it at the back of his mind, but refused to believe it. Hearing Aang confirm it just made him angry. Aang must have sensed this, because he turned to him.
“Everything okay?”
“Yeah!” Zuko said, just a bit too forcefully. “It’s just very different being around her now.”
“You mean how she doesn’t want to talk to you at all or have anything to do with you?”
Zuko narrowed his eyes at Aang, who gave a sheepish smile.
“I guess you’re not wrong,” Zuko admitted. Sokka had lifted her over his shoulder and tossed her into the water. She resurfaced giggling and threw herself into him to knock him over.
“When she first joined us,” Aang said quietly. “We could all tell that she missed someone a lot. It wasn’t until after Sokka rescued her from your ship that we realized the person she was missing was you. I think she really cares about you, Zuko, which makes this a lot harder for her than the rest of us.”
Zuko smiled softly at his friend. “Thanks, Aang.”
“No problem!”

bygones of the sun. 07 (m)
genre: angst/fluff/smut || dance captain!hoseok, bad boy!au, uni!au
pairing: reader x hoseok;
length: 6.7k;
synopsis: Jung Hoseok was once the sweetheart of the school, the dance captain whom every girl, including you, can’t help but fall head over heels for. But like the force of the ever-glowing sun, everything that rises must also set. A year of inactivity later and he’s now the school’s resident bad boy. You’re a firm believer of allowing the past be the past, and yet you can’t help but wonder where the risen sun has gone into hiding—because perhaps its shadows have out-shined its own radiance.
Ten bucks for club dues and fifteen bucks for transportation plus utility fees and you’d think boot camps really are as luxurious and happy-go-lucky as movies paint them out to be. Unfortunately for you and your recently trance filled state, confronting the face of reality only comes colliding into you just a couple of weeks since you last saw him. Despite the malicious side effects of reading into rumors, people really aren’t lying when they say the dance club’s boot camp is synonymous to a “living hell disguised as a getaway paradise by scheming club officers.” While you aren’t attending as an official member of the team, and therefore forfeiting the rights to proclaim the overbearing stress and practices that are soon to come, there are certain other issues weighing your mind.
First off, paying twenty five bucks just to see this one despicably sly and retired dancer resume his role as the captain is all too pricey of a fee, because even you're not sure why you’ve invested so much time and effort into someone who only sees you as his next victim of his black book filled with female contacts. You thought you had gotten over him, but the mere fact that you’re attending despite claiming to be “dragged into this” is a direct opposition of such a foolish belief, or better yet, desire. But such questions become trivial when the first obstacle you face of the four days long journey ahead of you is simply tossing two overly stuffed duffel bags into the luggage compartment of the towering, chic black and white charter bus.
Struggling to weave your way through the bustling crowds of fellow trip attendees, consisting of mainly guys and specks of girls, you puff in a deep breath before picking up one bag on each hand and hustling through with all your might and diminishing courtesy. The task proves to be worse in terms of pleasantness than labor, for squatting down and searching for the smallest of a few square feet of free space while squinting your eyes against the smoke of hot, steaming gas and water vapor released from the roaring engine.
“Do you need help?”
The familiar honey-like base yet raspy edge to his voice strikes a sense of panic against your thumping chest. Is this a rise of excitement or is this a fight-or-flight defense mechanism against the threat before you?
Hesitantly turning around, you crane your neck to peer up at the one and only boy towering over you from above, an effort made in vain as all you manage to catch sight of is the black silhouette of his figure and the smug signature look of his all underneath the blinding sunlight his head so conveniently blocks.
“Or are you going to ogle and drool all over me while standing in everyone’s way?” Hoseok chortles. Your eyes follow his every move, too taken aback to move or respond. It’s been at least two weeks since you had last seen him and two weeks since… that had happened. Your lips burn and your first immediate response is to smack your hands right over them as if to cover the beet red of your cheeks and lips… or largely to prevent future advances. Hoseok only scoffs in response, smirking and squatting midway to strategically whisper into your ears, “we have lots of time to do that in the camp later, if you so want.”
“Excuse me?” you lean back as far as you can and gape, but he only squats down to your level before grabbing the bags of luggage from your hand.
“Don’t worry, I got this. After going through this entire process at least six times by now, you just gotta learn to…” his words are cut off by huffs as he forcefully pushes and tosses and squeezes bags further into the compartment before tossing his and your own along with them. “There,” he brushes his hands, “I don’t know what Jimin has been teaching them, but the new recruits seem to be awfully spoiled taking up so much space. This is boot camp, not vacation.”
“Thanks,” you say after chuckling.
“Is your gratitude exchangeable?” he asks, turning to cock his head to the side and revealing the structure of his jawline; and as much as you’d like to deny it, it takes every ounce of sheer willpower not to stare at him in awe.
“For what?” you’re barely able to utter. Hoseok stares at you in silence, dark eyes eating and drinking you up with each passing second, and that’s all you need to get the hint. The knot in your throat catches your silent gasp as you avert your gaze to the ground, cheeks burning, heart skipping, and lips throbbing. “I don’t know what you’re implying.”
“Oh, my bad, I forgot. Can’t corrupt my prude little princess just yet,” he muses, and you can just feel his sultry gaze piercing straight through your temple as he flashes you his charming damn crooked grin. Hoseok cocks his head in the direction behind the crowds of incoming baggage bearers, “go on. Your friends are waiting for you. I gotta help out here.”
“You sure you don't need any help?” you offer, standing upright to brush the invisible dirt off your lap.
Hoseok glances up at you and scoffs with the most teasing smirk possible. “Are you implying you're willing to help me? I'm thankful for the offer, your Grace, but I don't think standing there and checking me out is going to do us much good,” he laughs and throws a quick glimpse over at your friends with a lopsided smile. “I know I said this is camp and all, but you should at least have some fun now before it's too late.”
“...okay,” you hesitantly mumble, giving him a small wave and stumbling through the crowd once again to join your friends spectating from afar.
“What took you so long?” Junghwa ponders aloud, a small pout resting on her bottom lip as her foot impatiently taps against the floor.
“Sorry, the luggage compartment was almost full—”
“—wait, wait, wait, Y/N… was that Hoseok who helped you with your luggage over there?” Hani interjects with wide eyes, going on her tiptoes to confirm the back figure of said man just a few strides ahead. Not even a split second after, Junghwa’s eyes pop and the both of them turn in sync to stare at you with gaping mouths.
“No way,” Junghwa drawls. “Jung Hoseok? The ex dance captain? Your long time crush—”
“—keep your voice down,” you hiss before timidly glancing at the ground and twiddling your thumbs. “...maybe.”
“I can’t believe you’re actually doing this, Y/N,” Hani utters, the drop of her jaw and the void in her voice conveying just how shocked she is from your sudden course of actions.
“I know right,” Junghwa jumps in, hooking her arms around Hani’s crossed ones. “I mean, dance camp? Basically a trip? With Hoseok?”
“It’s not only with Hoseok,” you articulate. “There’s at least twenty other people going with us.”
“Uhuh, right, but you won’t be paying attention to any of them except Hoseok, so it’s basically the same thing. How did you even manage to convince him to return?” Junghwa exasperates, a series of blabbering shortly follows before you hurriedly clasp your hand over her running mouth to muffle her words.
A few seconds of incoherent mumbling goes by before Hani taps you on the shoulder and chuckles, “okay, Y/N, any second longer and she’s going to faint.”
As much as most normal, rational human beings would opt for breathing through the nose than the mouth in situations like this, whether out of instincts or simple common sense, it’s also painfully obvious that Junghwa is unlike that of any other. All that’s on Junghwa’s head at the moment is getting her thoughts said and heard, and not even her very own being can top that priority. So pressing your lips, you figure Hani’s right—like always—and the well being of your best friend is more important than answering a few questions. Reluctantly and ever so slowly, you retract your hands from her lips, the absence of her voice’s vibration immediately leaving your hand empty of sensation.
The second your hands unclasp from her mouth, thus letting her words loose, Junghwa desperately gasps for air before, unsurprisingly, blurting out yet again in an all too ear-spitting manner, “or is he returning because of you? Did you make some sort of deal with him?! Y/N, why didn’t you tell us? You need to tell us—”
“—shh,” you hiss, immediately and strategically placing your middle finger against your lips to hush her back into silence. Eyes wide and alert, you hastily glimpse around to check for any possible bystanders dropping in on your conversation. When all coast is clear, everyone too busy chatting away with their friends and loading their additional luggage onto the bus, you shoot a death stare straight at your friend who gulps in terror. “Are you trying to turn this trip into hell before it even starts? I know it might come as a surprise to you, but I don’t want anyone spreading rumors about Hoseok and I!”
“I know,” Junghwa pouts and grabs ahold of your hand only to sway it side to side, as if to win you over with pity. “I’m sorry… I won’t do it again. I promise!”
“That’s what you said last time.”
“I swear I’m serious! Curiosity just got the best of me this time around,” Junghwa cheekily smiles. “If someone happens to hear us, I’ll treat you out for dinner. Better yet, I’ll confess to Jimin or anyone you want and make a fool of myself, yeah? Mm?”
“You don’t even like Jimin!” you refute, appalled by her lackluster offer.
“Oh, you know how she is, Y/N,” Hani laughs, rolling her eyes. “At least no one has ever really paid attention to her yelling. Plus, I really am curious as to why he’s back. How did you convince him to join today? I thought he always stayed at least a mile’s distance from anything related to dance.”
A hard thump hammers against your chest when the answer to her question echoes in your mind and rests on the tips of your tongue. A kiss. You exchanged his attendance this morning for a kiss; but there’s no way you’re going tell your friends something as embarrassing as that, especially seeing how they had taken the news of your previous dates with Hoseok. However, judging by how fervently your lips burn of the apparition of his soft lips pressed up against them, you convince yourself you’ve already given the answer away.
“Hey, we’re just about done here,” a familiar voice melts in your left ear like honey as a heavy arm swings over your shoulder and pulls you into his side. You glance up to find Hoseok raising a brow at your two friends, “oh, I’m sorry, but I don’t quite seem to recognize…”
His words trail off, and for some reason you think you can see a flash of the old dance captain resuming his courteous, welcoming ways; hence, unbeknownst to you, a smile gradually stretches across your lips. While you’re stuck in your reverie, Junghwa and Hani’s head snap towards each other, eyes widening and words failing to leave their gaping mouths as looks of admiration and awe oozes from the glistening windows to their souls. The ogling eyes of theirs nearly evokes a snort from the back of your throat, because finally, finally they can first-handedly witness the melting charms of Hoseok and actually understand the reasonings behind your recent irrational actions. But then their eyes dart to you once again, lips formulating silent threats and teeth gritting like a desperate call for your help.
As much as you’d like to blame your lack of a response to your friends’ plees solely on your short-lived trance of catching the returning glimpse of your long-time crush, a part of you just knows the truth lies in the satisfaction of observing the petrified look on your friends’ faces. Is this the look you had plastered all over your face when they made fun of you for your crush on Hoseok? Was this the mirror image of your state of panic when Junghwa nearly exposes your “relationship” with Hoseok to the entire class? Just recalling the pain your friends had put you through endorses you to sit back and relax as you watch karma do its work.
“...new recruits?” Hoseok chirps after a few seconds of silence, quirking a brow and flashing a clueless, lopsided grin. “Did Jimin actually manage to acquire new members while I was gone?”
“Actually no,” Hani quickly blurts, shaking her head violently, “we’re not a part of the club.”
“Oh?” Hoseok cocks his head, glimpsing at you in confusion before returning his eyes to Hani when you only stand in silent amusement. “Sorry, my bad. So what are you two lovely ladies doing here then?”
Did he just call them lovely? In front of you? With his arm wrapped around you and his recently numerous flirtatious advances on you? Even though you have no idea why you’re so irked in the first place, there’s something about his smooth, charismatic ways that tugs at your heartstrings in the rather painful manner for once.
Unbeknownst to you, a twitch of your face is evident enough to your friends and Hoseok for them to jolt in place, petrified over whatever fiery hazard scorches from within the vicinity of your glare. And unlike your friends who take a step back and glimpse at each other for help, the boy beside you only pulls you in even tighter until your head has nowhere to rest but against the calm, warm beats of his chest.
“Uh,” Junghwa utters, eyes popping when she notices Hoseok’s firming embrace.
“We’re just sending Y/N off,” Hani finishes her friend’s sentence and averts her panicked gaze back to you as you narrow your eyes at the audacity of Hoseok.
“Well that’s nice of you two. So that’s where Y/N gets it from,” he muses before continuing, “are you sure you two don’t wanna join? I’m sure we have enough space left to accommodate for you two.”
“Oh no, we couldn’t—
“—well actually, we wanted to but Y/N forced us not to because she was ‘embarrassed’ or something—ow!” Hani nudges her elbow straight into Junghwa before she can mutter another word.
Hoseok turns his head at you with warmth radiating from his dark chocolate orbs and the most suggestive of smirks tugging on the corner of his lips, “and what does that mean, Y/N?”
You freeze. You don’t know why or how or when, but for some reason your body’s immediate response to his gaze locking with yours is to drop everything and freeze. Heart panicking, hammering, and nearly stopping, you completely forget your friends are watching just a few feet away—
“—we didn’t bring any money for club dues and trip fees,” Hani quickly comes to the rescue, shooting you a subtle smile, and for once, you’re actually glad that your friends are here to support you in the wake of Hoseok’s impact.
“Oh, that’s fine. Any friend of Y/N’s is welcome with or without dues. I’d rather gain two new recruits than lose the opportunity to because of a few bucks or so. Plus, our club has more than enough funds to cover your fees for now,” he quips, cleverly interjecting before Hani can provide a rebuttal, “you don’t really think I’m letting you off the hook, do you? Nah, what kind of a captain would I be if I did that? You can pay me back afterwards.”
“That’s very kind of you, but…”
“...or your friend here can pay for you,” Hoseok smiles smugly, pointing his thumb to the side and at you. Traumatizing your lips and paying twenty five bucks to humiliate yourself for the sole sake of potentially watching Hoseok dance again were already too high of stakes to pay in the first place, so all you can do in response to his absurd suggestion is gawk at him in disapproval.
“She’s the last person who would do that,” Junghwa grumbles.
Hani nudges Junghwa once again, “I’m sure Y/N is going to have lots of fun at camp… although I do worry if she’s going to be alone—”
“—I’ll be fine—”
“—don’t worry, she’s in good hands,” Hoseok cuts in with a wide grin, arm firmly gripping your right shoulder and pulling you even closer into him.
“...what do you think you’re doing?” you finally mutter through gritted teeth. Your friends hesitantly exchange and dart glances between the two of you as they watch the narrowing of your death stare.
“What? This?” he pats his hands on the side of your arm and pulls you in once again, cocking a brow at you to feign innocence. “You didn’t seem to mind skinship last week? Or are you shy about PDA?”
Your jaw slacks open in sync with your friends. Did he really just say that? In front of your friends? So much for having fun and saving the embarrassment for later on in the trip.
“I don’t know what you’re saying…” you mutter, snaking your hand behind his back and tugging on his shirt to signal for him to stop… which he doesn’t.
“Oh c’mon, you couldn’t have forgotten already, Y/N!” Hoseok chimes, and his grin grows wider and wider as he watches your cheeks burn a brighter shade of red by the second. He cocks his head and begins listing the events of that night which still burns so fervently in the back of your mind, “fridge… bet… tabletop… ki...tchen.”
The second to last syllable nearly evokes a heart attack from your already weak condition, thousands of needles piercing straight through your chest as you glimpse at your friends; luckily for you, it seems like they haven’t caught onto anything yet, for they’ve never worn a more confused look than they are now.
Hoseok only grins in amusement before proceeding to his grand finale, “ki—hey!”
The smug look on his face is wiped and replaced by utter shock. He gawks at you with eyes wide and mouth open the second his brain registers the fact that you had just pinched him as hard as you could from the back.
“...kinda have to go help out Jimin and the others. Yeah, that’s what I meant to say,” Hoseok chuckles after a few seconds of bewilderment, turning to flash one last smile at your friends and waving them goodbye. “I’m sorry but I don’t believe I ever got your names…?”
Your two friends just stand there in what you’re unsure to make out as either fright for the scene that just played before them or in awe over the radiant sight of his killer smile—or perhaps, a mix of both. Hani’s slouched shoulders suddenly straighten upright the second she snaps back into reality and checks up on her friend, whom had failed to escape her trance. She stutters, “H-Hani, I’m Hani, a-and this is Junghwa.”
“Right. It was nice meeting you, Hani and Junghwa. I promise you I’ll look over Y/N, even if she refuses to accept my help and assaults me with acts of violence. And remember, I know it might be boring without me as the captain, but it’s never too late to join the club,” he sing-songs, voice velvety and soothing like always but his last statement leaves you frowning even more so than the former.
He’s resuming his role as the dance captain, and yet at the same time he’s rejecting the permanence of such a task and even foreseeing his absence in the near future. You know you’ve been too greedy and too needy for the fulfillment of your dreams, but somehow along the way you had lost sight of reality. While the past Hoseok brought you into cloud nine where things like stress and school were of trivial matters, the present Hoseok slams you straight back into reality where not everything always goes your way.
Only a comforting, firm pat against your right shoulder is enough to bring you out of your daze as you glance up to find Hoseok making his way to the bus with his front half turned towards you. “I know it’s hard to contain your excitement, but at least try to spend a few more minutes with your friends, Y/N. Don’t take too long though, or even I’ll have to leave you behind,” he quips, calling out to you before winking and biting his lips—as if trying to hint at something, no, you just know he’s hinting at that very thing which still doesn’t fail to flood heat into your cheeks—and turning his back on you to jog up the steps, disappearing behind the black tinted windows of the bus.
“I hate the living hell out of him. I hate the living hell out of him. I hate the living hell out of him,” you repeat, reminding yourself once again of the treacherous bet you had so regrettably made. Sighing, you turn to face your friends once again only to jump in place out of shock when your friends glare at you with the most dead eyes and stern frowns.
“Girl, you have a lot to explain when you get back,” Junghwa crosses her arms.
“...yeah, I know,” you timidly laugh, reclining as you scratched the back of your head when Junghwa continues to narrow her eyes at you for your lack of an explanation.
“That guy’s dangerous. I knew he was good looking, but wow, in person?” Hani shakes her head. “He knows his ways with words. Charming. Too charming. You better be careful, Y/N.”
“...yeah, don’t worry. I’m not a fool. I might’ve liked him before, but there’s no way I still do with him being like that now,” you mutter, and out of the blue, your only source of transportation roars in place behind you as if to remind you of the quickly approaching departure time. “Okay, I really have to go now.”
Despite how hard Junghwa had been staring at you, she does a complete 180 turn when she pounces on you along with Hani, “I’ll miss you so much. Don’t go! Don’t leave me for a man! But if you have to, at least tell us what happens!”
“Make sure to call us every night, okay?” Hani says before quickly adding, “and be careful! Don’t ever leave yourself alone with a boy like Hoseok!”
“Alright, alright,” you chuckle, words muffled as they nearly choke you in the bear hug. After what seems like eternity, you finally retract yourself from your nearly sobbing friends and wave them one last goodbye before running up the steps into the bus and away from the partially cloudy forecast of the morning.
Now the real torture begins; it's like highschool all over again—finding an empty seat without looking like a longer or bring too out of place.
“Sorry, this seat is reserved for someone,” you hear someone say in the deepest yet softest of tones.
Glancing over to the very back of the bus where the courteous voice had struck you as familiar, you find a girl apologizing to Hoseok before scampering forward to the seat next to whom you presume to be her friend. Word must've gotten out that the Jung Hoseok was making his return to dance with this camping trip, because whether for the better or worse, it doesn't take very long for the next girl to approach him.
“Oh my God, I can't believe you're actually back! I've always loved watching you practice!” the petite girl exclaims.
Hoseok presses a smile in response, “thanks.”
“Um… can I sit here if this seat isn't taken?”
“Sorry but I'm actually saving this seat for my friend,” he softly repeats himself, craning his neck up to give one last apologetic smile from his seat and to the standing girl.
Tch, lucky him, you scoff to yourself, being Mr. Popular With Girls must have its perks in social gatherings like this. People like you, on the other hand, have to deal with being on the worse end of the stick.
So you shuffle your way through the chattering cliques seated primarily at the front, never-minding the glaring open seat next to Hoseok as you make your way to just a few rows ahead of his in a successful search for another seat; but before you're even able to sigh in relief and plop into your temporary home for the next six hours, a hand clasps onto the crook of your elbows and grips your arm firmly enough to pull you into another seat. A yelp leaves your lips as you stumble backwards in a vain attempt to regain your footing, and before you even know it, you find yourself in another seat at the very back of the bus.
“This seat is actually reserved for you,” the one and only Hoseok coos, and your heart undeniably skips despite the roll of your eyes.
“I didn't ask for you to reserve it for me.”
“Ouch,” Hoseok winces, “was that you rejecting me or you rejecting my friendly gesture?”
You shrug in a fruitless attempt to suppress your smile, “perhaps both. No, definitely both.”
“Then what was that supposed to mean?” Hoseok gasps and places a hand over his chest. “Are you leading me on?”
You scoff, “what was what supposed to mean?”
“You know,” he leans in to whisper, “our ki—”
“— alright fine, I'll sit with you,” you interject and slump into your permanent seat with a loud sigh. “Now can you stop bringing that up.”
“To think that you'd play me like this... you're breaking my heart, Y/N,” he fakes a whimper and frowns, shaking his head. “But whatever makes you happy.”
You snort at the irony of his words. Who's the one playing who? “Oh, quit it, will you? If being around me hurts you so much, then why aren't you sitting with Jimin and them?”
“Actually, there's nothing I like better than spending my time with you. See, I'll prove it to you.” Without warning, Hoseok’s right engulfs your left in and places it straight against his chest. You're caught off guard, jumping in your seat and rocketing your pulse at an all time high, but what surprises you most is the irregular pacing of the thumps against your hand. Maybe it's just you and your hopeless imaginations, but for even a split second you'd like to think he's being the genuine self he used to be for once. “You know, I actually prefer sitting alone on these trips.”
“...why?” you're barely able to utter when you realize your hand is still trapped between the warmth of his chest and his hand.
“I like listening to my own music and going through the routines in my head. It helps me focus for camp,” he explains before turning to wink at you, “but I'll make an exception for you.”
“Why…?”
It must be something about the way his hand holds yours so firmly in place or the way you're just practically melting in the gaze of his warm brown eyes, because a question you already know the answer to slips right through your lips. He had promised your friends to take good care of you, didn't he? He had seen you wandering through the crowd and bus like some lost child, didn't he? Man, you really must have appeared to be quite pathetic enough for him to reach out to you like this. So with your eyes down at the ground and your ears shut, you prepare for the embarrassment ahead of you.
“Didn't I just explain it to you?” Hoseok says lowly, and you glance up in curiosity. Your chest constricts when your eyes trail up to meet his. Your insides melt at the sight of his soft, lopsided smile, and you can't help but mentally squeal when you realize that his unmoving gaze has been observing you all this time. Then he makes his final blow, “I like being next to you.”
Pressing your lips into what seems to be a half smile half frown, you slowly retract your hands from his and into your lap before turning to face straight forward where Hoseok is no where in sight. But despite your efforts to keep your pulse under control, there's really nothing you can do to stop your heart from nearly jumping out of your chest and prevent the adrenaline from running through your wrist to your stomach to your legs; for the rest of the ride, you find yourself distracted in one way or another.
First, you somehow find yourself sharing an earbud with Hoseok. He shares his favorite playlist of tracks to freestyle to, humming and counting to the beats, and even goes as far as to show you the tracks he plans to share with Jimin to use for the upcoming showcase. It's silly for you to extrapolate any meaning beyond the simple sharing of an earbud for the sole sake of killing time, yet you can't help but acknowledge the fluttering of butterflies in your stomach when you steal glimpses of your old crush as he walks you through the technicalities of a routine. He drones on and on for hours about a world close to him, a world of flow and deep appreciation which nearly no one but him could reach, however, even sitting there and being forced to listen to this boy who never ceases to tease you is enough to make this entire trip before it even begins. There’s something about the way passion just oozes from his eyes as he talks about the love of his life reminds you that this is the boy you fell for.
The second thing that keeps you on your toes is when you suddenly find yourself draped in his oversized sweater. It’s an all too familiar scene, a scene that has occurred one too many times, but it’s not like you had wanted it or hoped for it to happen… did you? Having forgotten how cold buses tend to keep the temperatures at, you had regrettably opted to stuff your one and only jacket into your bags—now thrown several dozens of feet under you—and unknowingly put yourself in this situation.
While everyone around you continued to chatter and laugh at the most disruptive of volumes amongst themselves, completely undisturbed for they had jackets to protect them from the blasting AC, you were suffering in your chair trying to keep yourself from shivering and exposing yourself to the watchful Hoseok; but alas, he was and is always able to see right through you. Seeing you curled up into a ball, you had heard Hoseok half snorting half chuckling before removing his hoodie in one swift motion and plopping it straight onto your head.
The sudden warmth of his worn sweatshirt resonates off your freezing cheeks, your bare nape of the neck, and down your shuddering back, but those newfound comforts aren’t enough to keep you from turning around to frown at him with furrowed brows questioning the intent behind such actions. He just smiles that smug smile of his before patting your head and remarking, “I don’t know if you’re actually cold or if you’re acting out to steal another one of my sweaters again, but you should put it on before you freeze to death. Can’t have any casualties under my watch, especially not you.”
The third and last thing you remember from the long bus ride, six hours of pain that for some reason you wish could’ve lasted forever, is the intoxicating scent of him radiating from the sweater engulfing you from within. Reclining in your seat, the collar of his sweater rises just enough to cover your neck, lips, and tip of your nose from the harsh winds circulating throughout the bus, but burying your nose in the inside of his cotton sweater only magnifies his clean, spice cologne mixed with the scent of home. You can’t believe you actually accepted his offer, but what petrifies you even more is the fact that you might just pass out right in front of Hoseok. As if witnessing the return of the ex dance captain isn’t enough, sitting right next to him with your arms brushed against his and an ear sharing the same set of headphones while wearing and drowning yourself in his scent is like the ultimate blow against your weak heart.
Subconsciously, you mumble aloud—whether to yourself or to Hoseok, you don’t know—and squeeze your heavy eyelids shut to black out everything around you, “I feel really light-headed for some reason…”
You can’t see him with your eyes closed, but the shuffling beside you allows you to envision him scooting closer and leaning forward to check up on you with worry plastered all over the frown on his face. “Are you okay? Are you still cold? Or do you need to take some medicine?”
“No, I’m fine. I just need to… take a nap—hey,” you nearly yelp when you feel his rough, warm hand cupping your right cheek to gently push your head onto his shoulders. Your eyes shoot wide open and your heart rate escalates as you scan through the bus for any witnesses. Finally, when all coast is clear, you hiss, “what’re you doing?”
“Go ahead. Nap,” he instructs, patting your cheek before leaning his own head against the top of yours. “Don’t worry, we’re in the back. No one’s going to see.”
Even in the blizzard that is the blasting AC, your cheeks never fail to burn a bright shade of red as every inch of contact between your body and his begins to flush of heat and thrill. You want to pull away, to deny the indisputable comfort of his shoulders, but you’re simply too tired to argue. So before you know it, pitch blackness surrounds you and the yells of the others drown into the background where the sound of Hoseok’s counting and humming echoes akin to that of the night where you had first introduced yourself to Hoseok long ago.
-
You are dreaming, right?
No, this must be a dream; because the very first thing your still blurry, half-asleep mind comes to register—that is, after gathering your bags and settling into your temporary room before leaving for the welcoming event like a zombie—is the fact that the Jung Hoseok is standing in front of the dance studio and leading tonight’s practice.
The studio lights hanging from the high ceilings above give off warm, yellow edges to your already blurry vision. The cleanly waxed wooden floor squeaks with every sharp step of his as he gives a quick demonstration to the daily stretching routine every member must undergo before practice. Decked out in the all too familiar, albeit retired, attire of his—black sweater, black joggers, and black pair of sleek sneakers with the occasional headband he had opted out of tonight—you simply can’t believe your eyes. This is everything you’ve been dreaming for. You just want to see him dance again, and here he is… closer to dancing than he has ever been in the last year.
It’s all too surreal. Really, your gut instincts tell you this is all too surreal to believe in.
“I know this isn’t the exciting stuff I’m sure everyone of you came here for,” he sarcastically remarks, and you wonder if he’s well aware of the real reason for the spike of female recruits attending this camp for the sake of meeting him, “but it’s important that you learn how to properly stretch and prepare your body for the impact that comes with dancing.”
“How long are we going to be stretching, Hoseok?” a girl whines.
It takes everything in you not to scowl at the girl for her interjection. While you’ve risked everything from your dignity to your sanity to get to experience this first-hand, she’s piggybacking off of your efforts only to threaten the slim opportunity that you’ll even get to see Hoseok dance again in the first place.
Hoseok continues stretching, neither affected nor amused by her remark before lowly stating, “a few minutes goes a long way.”
“Yeah, but we want to dance,” a boy calls out.
“We want to see you dance,” another girl adds.
God, any second longer now and you swear you’re going to cuss them out; do they want to see him dance or not?
“You won’t be saying that when you pull a muscle,” Hoseok simply states, switching to stretch his other leg before shooting a stern look at the rows and columns of students lined up and following his every move. You don’t think you’ve ever seen him more irked than this, because a chill runs down your spine the second you find the darkening of his eyes settling on one particular girl only to threaten and etch his next two words into the back of her mind for the rest of eternity, “trust me.”
You figure dance practice really must be a serious matter to him, because you’ve never seen him go so long without cracking a joke or even comforting a student he had accidentally rebuked—which is odd now that you think about it, since that’s the exact opposite of what he had been known for back in his days as the captain; but maybe you just didn’t know him well enough in the past, perhaps his passion for dance is much stronger and takes a much more different approach than you had observed on the surface level.
It’s not exactly a turn-off per say, because you do find his passion honorable in every way, but there’s something about the frown on his ever-so-slightly downturned lips and the crease between his brows that tells you something is off. Does he actually despise dance as much as he had claimed? Your mind wanders off wondering if bringing him here is the right decision after all.
“Y/N, if you want to see me dance, then you better not space out.”
You’re thrown straight out of your trance when your head snaps up to find Hoseok staring straight at you.
“We’re on the right leg now,” he presses a smile, cocking his head at the fact that you’re still stretching your left arm. Your entire face turns red as you hastily plop yourself down to the ground and stretch your left before your right leg out in front of you. Hoseok only snorts, “alright, because of Y/N, we’re just going to hand this off to Jimin to teach you the choreo now. I have something else to do.”
“What?!”
“No, you can’t do that!”
“You promised you’d be leading tonight’s session!”
A dozen protests come tumbling from the students, a majority of them being female fans, but then all eyes start glaring at you as if you’re the actual reason Hoseok is skipping out on the actual dance portion of the practice. You nearly jump in your seat, wanting to dig a hole for you to hide yourself in when everyone throws you a few death stares. To be honest, you’re completely satisfied with seeing Hoseok even associating himself with the dance club right now, but it seems like others had a separate standard of satisfaction than you.
Hoseok intently observes the scene playing out between you and the girls before clearing his throat and sighing, “on second thought, I have a few minutes to spare.”
You can hear a collective gasp echo throughout the room. A loud cheer then erupts, and you actually find yourself smiling at his announcement despite being the most hated person in the room for a split second.
“But I’m only introducing the simple parts tonight,” he adds and a mixed reaction filled with cheers and whimpers follow shortly afterwards.
Was he going out of his way to indulge in an activity you know he’s been avoiding all too well in order to save you from the others? Or was he doing this because he genuinely had a change of heart? You figure the questions don’t matter at this point, because you’re beyond ecstatic. You might not agree in the methods others had attempted to utilize in pushing him back into his role as the captain, but you do agree in terms of the end goal point. Just seeing him lead a group through stretches is enough to make this entire trip, but seeing him lead a group through actual routines and choreographs? You think you’re on cloud nine. You’re selfish for pushing him into something he claims to despise to the very bone, but after calling you out and teasing you in front of everyone, you like to think you deserve at least this.
You just want to see him dance again, and nothing else matters but that.
-
Hoseok was serious when he said he was only teaching the most simple of choreographs, because even you were able to get through it all without tripping or falling or spacing out like you usually would. After just five minutes or so, he was prepared to switch out with Jimin when Jimin, Taehyung, and Jungkook ultimately decided on ending the first day of practice early and heading off to dinner.
So here you are, somehow finding yourself seated across where Hoseok had sat just a few minutes prior before excusing himself from the table and next to the rest of his old group of friends.
“Where did Hoseok go?” Jungkook finally questions, stuffing himself with one or two potstickers.
“Probably went back to his room,” Jimin shrugs. “He doesn’t seem to be in a good mood today.”
“Do you know why…?” you hesitantly ask and finish the last speck of food on your now empty plate.
“No idea,” the boy you learn to be Namjoon quips. “Maybe he’s just tired and not used to camp anymore.”
“Maybe,” you mumble, pursing your lips when the image of the irritated look on Hoseok’s face before he left dinner early. Placing your plate and utensil onto the table, you push your chair back and stand upright, “I think I’m going to head back to my room now.”
“Already?” Jimin’s eyes widen, neck craning to look up at you in surprise.
“Yeah, my legs are already so sore from practice.”
“You know we have a complimentary pass to the spa at this resort, right?” Taehyung adds.
“Oh?” you’re genuinely intrigued by the idea of soaking in a hot tub after hours of being drenched in sweat.
“Yeah, feel free to use that if you’d like,” Jimin grins. “I’d go now before everyone heads there after dinner.”
“Alright, thanks. I’ll see you guys tomorrow, then!” you wave them goodbye before skipping off to your room to change into your bathing suit and happily scampering to the paradise that waits for you at the spa…
...unfortunately for you, that paradise doesn’t turn out to be quite what you had envisioned it to be, for the fact that it’s a public spa and not a private one reserved for you hits you right in the face when you see him sitting right there in the pool of water in front of you.
“It seems like fate really wants us to be together,” Hoseok quips, the absence of playfulness and effort in his usual teasing raising a question of worry from you once again.
“Psh, as if,” you scoff, turning around and ready to march off in the other direction if he hadn’t interjected.
“It’s okay, I’ll leave and you can stay if you’re that shy about seeing me half naked,” he rises from the water, and your mind goes completely blank when they register his words.
You weren’t even thinking about seeing his bare chest, but now that he’s mentioned it, that’s all your eyes can even see. His abdomens are as toned and defined as you had imagined them to be for an ex-dancer, and they’re just as tan and smooth as honey which matches the tone of his sun-kissed skin. You don’t know if it’s the steam of the water which causes your cheeks to burn for the hundredth time today, but something about the accuracy in his statement challenges you to rebuke his claims.
So instead of denying nor accepting his offer, you plop down into the euphoric heat of the water and submerge yourself until your chin hits the surface of the water. “No, it’s fine. You can stay or leave. It doesn’t matter to me because your body is the last thing I’m thinking about.”
“Really? Doesn’t seem like it when you just stared at me for a good minute or two,” Hoseok coos, sitting back down with his arms resting on either side of the circular pool. “So, what you up to?”
“Sitting in here and trying to get a good hour of relaxation for once.”
“Whoa, my bad,” he raises his hands defensively with a slight chuckle. “Sassy as always, I see.”
You know you said you wanted an hour of relaxation, but the minutes of silence that follows shortly after is deafening. It’s odd for it to be so quiet around Hoseok, the Jung Hoseok who always teased you to your nerves’ ends. Something is most definitely odd about tonight. You don’t know when it started or how it started, but it’s the things that he chooses not to partake in rather than partake in that startles you. Maybe tonight he had started to dance again, but there are countless other things he had sacrificed in return.
He’s no longer as lively, playful, and easy going as he used to be. While the past Hoseok had been a combination of all these traits even with the passion and dedication for dance, this is yet another reminder to you that this isn’t the same boy you had loved; but even so, even if this person isn’t the one you so wish for the return of, you can’t help but worry for the boy you’ve actually come to know.
“...I’m happy to see you dancing again,” you finally say. Hoseok lowers his head and gaze from the night sky to look at you—neither surprised nor intrigued, just empty. Your brows furrow at the lack of a reaction and you quickly add, “is something wrong?”
“What makes you ask that?” the monotonous tone in his voice only pushes you further.
“Just answer the question. You’re acting… strange... today. Ever since practice,” you shake your head and frown. “Is it because of dancing? Should I not have forced you to come?”
“You didn’t force me to come. You didn’t force me to do anything,” he says before looking off to the side; the harsh edge in his voice tugs at you in the most aching way you had never known to be possible with someone like the current Hoseok.
“Fine, if you’re gonna be like that, then let’s play a game. You like games, don’t you? That’s the only way I can ever get you to talk or open up or do anything,” you retort and Hoseok only raises a brow. “We’ll take turns asking each other questions. If the other fails to answer to our satisfaction, and you have to be honest, then we get to do whatever we want with the other.”
“Y/N wants to play games? Am I dreaming?” Hoseok cocks a brow.
“Trust me, I feel like I’m the one dreaming. It’s not like I want to play games, especially not with you, but it seems like it’s the only way I can get you to talk,” you say, shaking your head. “Okay, I’ll start first then. Tell me what’s going on. Why are you so upset? Is it something that I did?”
“That’s more than one question, Y/N.”
“Okay, fine,” you scoff. “Did I do something to upset you?”
“No,” he simply answers, eyes looking straight at you before adding more to complete his answer, “well, maybe a little. I don’t know how I can answer that accurately when even I’m not sure. You’re not the main reason, but now that you have become a part of the reason, I guess it only adds to the fire.”
That’s the most vague answer you had ever heard in your life, but to be fair, you had only asked him whether or not you had done something to upset him. He isn’t obligated to answer what you had done, and plus, the intense look in his eyes warns you to better play by the rules.
“Alright, fine. Good enough. You pass. Your turn.”
His fingers tap against the poolside, but his piercing eyes never leave yours.
After what seems like an eternity of silence, he speaks, “are you happy to see me dancing again?”
You frown and raise a brow, “of course…? Yes, I’m beyond ecstatic—”
—your words are cut off when he stands upright and takes one large stride to the other end of the pool where you sat, and the next thing you know, his lips smashes into yours. And unlike the last kiss you had shared with him, this one is much more forceful. He’s impatient, he’s twisting and turning and pushing like he’s running out of time, his hands snake to wrap around your back and pulls you in until the two of you are chest-to-chest.
Somehow, you manage to pull away for a split second, “Hoseok, what the hell are you doing?”
“I’m dissatisfied with your answer, Y/N,” he states before pushing you into him once again and collides his lips with yours.
Your head is dizzy and you can barely get enough oxygen each time he pulls away for a split second to give you some time to breathe, but there’s something about the haste in his movements, the impatience in his pulls and pushes, and the look in his eyes that’s screaming for help that tells you this kiss isn’t about passion or lust or anything like that; it’s about desperation and the most twisted way to express the sorrow that resides with him. And even though he isn’t playing by the rules of the game, there’s a part of you that sympathizes with him, for your heart drops at the mess of emotions his wet, sloppy kiss conveys to you.
Maybe he isn’t answering your questions with words, but there’s no doubt that he’s opening up to you more than he ever has before.
Finally, you put a hand against his chest and push him an arm’s distance away before managing to say in the midst of heavy breathing, “I don’t get it, Hoseok. I’m confused. You’re acting out. You’re… different.”
“How is this any different from the last time I kissed you?” he refutes with knotted brows.
“No, there’s something wrong,” you shake your head. “What’s wrong, Hoseok? Please, just let me help you.”
“Then answer my question correctly,” he says, calling out to you as he watches you get up and depart from the poolside. “That’s all you can do right now.”
“Am I happy to see you dancing again?” you repeat the question, grabbing and wrapping a towel around you from a table. “I don’t know… not if this is how you’re going to act, then no, I’m not. But I was happy to see you so immersed in dancing again earlier today. I just want to know if… you’re happy...?”
Something flickers in the dark ditch within his eyes, and after a long deafening silence, he finally answers.
“Yeah…” he finally answers with his eyes at the other side of the pool where you had just sat before drowning himself back into the pool, “I guess I’m happy too.”

Y/N moved in their last stuff into their new home after successfully putting everything in their new place. They looked around the living room before sitting down on the floor. Holding in their am was a box with stuff that they were going to decorate. As they opened the box, it wasn’t the stuff that they would decorate with but a photo album, a sweater and a necklace in it. They held back their tears as they took out the sweater and the necklace and wore them. The sweater wasn’t theirs but it was Clay’s.
“Babe, have you seen my sweater? I can’t find it anywhere.” Clay shouted from their wardrobe, opening each drawer to find his sweater.
Y/N skipped towards their room, “Which sweater? You have like so many sweater.”
“The one with dinosaurs on it. The green--” Clay then turned around to see Y/N was wearing what he described. “--sweater.”
Y/N looked at Clay then down at their clothing. “This one?”
Clay then walked towards them with a grin on his face. “Well, never mind. I’ll find another one to wear. And by the way, you look cute in it. So keep it.”
Y/N was flustered and hid their face in the sweater. Clay wrapped his arms around them and his chin was on their head. “But it would look even better when it’s on the floor along with my clothes.” He smirked, causing Y/N’s cheeks to go red.
Y/N hit Clay hard with their sweater paws but to him, those hits were like patting. Clay then remembered something and jogged to their bedside drawer and took out a box. He took the necklace out and went back to Y/N. Clay went behind them and put it on for them.
“I saw it when I was out strolling with Nick. He said to pick the one with ‘Daddy’ on it but I’ll buy next time if you want.”

Clay then casted his eyes down but Y/N caught the look on his face, sadness. Y/N immediately apologized, “I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have asked you that.”

“So you’ve been single now for 2 years?”
“Yea. Do you like someone at the moment?”
“Yea, I found someone I like.” Y/N gave him a smile. “But I don’t want to tell him though.”
“Oh.”
Clay thought immediately of Wilbur. His initial thought was about Wilbur, probably Y/N liked Wilbur. Of course, they would like him. He was there for them, not physically. But Wilbur would call them to see if they were okay. Wilbur would also talk about Y/N a lot while he was streaming with Clay and others and told them that Y/N doing fine now, getting the job that they wanted and was in search for a new place to live other than her friends’. Y/N didn’t want to bother them so that’s why Y/N searched for a new place.
But what Clay didn’t know was that it was a lie. They couldn’t tell him that they still need him a bit. However, they moved on because they knew they weren’t meant to be.

Clay had been neglecting Y/N a lot lately. They knew about his streaming career and they were very supportive of him. But lately, he had been neglecting Y/N and his food because of his streaming and uploading a YouTube video. Y/N would bring the food up to his office just for him to yell at them for entering his office. He would start missing out on their date nights and the most important ones, the anniversary. He would forget about them and go and hang out with someone Y/N didn’t know. While Clay was having fun with his new friend, Y/N was lying on their bed and crying to sleep. When he was given free times, Clay would be on his phone, typing something. Y/N would peek to see what he was texting but Clay would get up and go to his office, feeling annoyed at their behavior. Clay was never like this so what made him to be like this?
Then one day, Y/N walked past his office to overhear his conversation with George.
“No, George. You don’t understand. Y/N was never like this. Now they’re annoying. They would ask me whenever I got home like where I went and who I was with. They even brought up Olivia and I told them every time that she’s just a friend but they wouldn’t believe me.”
Feeling annoyed, Clay pushed his hair back and getting frustrated every time he mentioned Y/N.

“I’ll be there in about 15 minutes.”

“He’ll be furious.” Y/N giggled.
“He’ll be fine. He’s just being too dramatic. I’ve lost a challenge against him and I had to buy his favorite.”
He held up the food package for Y/N to see.

“Alright, I’ll get going then.” Clay said and turned around but stopped to say the last thing. “It was great seeing you again.”
“You too, Clay.” Y/N waved their hand and Clay did the same thing, walking off to the distance.
Y/N watched Clay walking off until he was no longer in their sight. They closed the door and sat down at the door, not worrying about the dirty floor. Your back ached from the way you hovered over your laptop and sat at your desk. Your mind was focused on learning and getting good grades it didn’t mind the pain. Your eyes burned from the strenuous gaze at your blue screen. Your hands felt as if you churned butter and not to mention the mean girls were extra rude today at school. High school was tough and you needed the rest of the day to be filled with relaxation and peace before you hit the books tomorrow.
“Where are you going?” Your best friend Sokka asked through the phone.
You hopped off the bus with all your items almost spilling out of your bag. “I’m going to Fire Tea Shop. I read the reviews online and people say its pretty good.”
“No, c’mon Y/N you had your chance. You mean its pretty lit!!!!” Sokka sounded too much like a kid that had eaten edibles.
“I’m hanging up,” you said deadpanned. “I don’t even know how I’ve kept up this friendship this long. I’m so proud of myself.”
“Its because you love me.” Sokka sang.
“It might be because I think you need my help. If I wasn’t with you and had your back like where do you think you would be? Probably eating crap off a cave right now and starving.” You walked up and inside the cafe was so cozy. It had an earthy yet red contrast feel to the place. It sure matched with the name Fire. It had some vintage Chinese architect to it. It was stunning and really caught your eye. And it was peaceful. “Do you want anything babes?” You asked as you looked at the menu. “They have cactus juice.”
“No!” Sokka shouted on the phone. “I tried that, I couldn’t get out of the bathroom the whole day! Plus I thought I saw like mushrooms of some sort.”
You snickered, “baby, I think you’ve been eating too many mushrooms!”
“I’m good. You enjoy it there.”
You said your goodbyes and hanged up the phone. As you did an old man came up with a long beard to say his welcoming.
“Hello there, young lady. Might I interest you in trying our newest tea? White Jade tea. It’s very delicious.” He smiled wide.
You read his name tag. He was such an adorable old man. “Hmmm, Iroh? Actually since this is my first time I want to try your most popular tea. How about-”
“So White Jade?” Iroh was about to punch in your order when you heard a shriek and what seemed to be a pot dropping on the floor. “One moment please. That is probably my angsty, incapable nephew that made a mess. Please look to see what you would like.” Iroh made a hasty get away.
Out came a teen your age as he rubbed the back of his head. He was so handsome looking. His hair was disheveled and he wore a red apron. His attitude really attracted you. “Good thing I made a distraction, that White Jade tea is not a hit. I’m not that good at making tea also. That’s more my uncle’s job.” His voice was low and had an edge to it. It was so handsome.
“Oh he’s your uncle. That’s sweet!” You grabbed your wallet out. “I would like a Jasmine tea please.”
“Good choice. My uncle loves that tea. That will be $4.25.”
You grabbed your money and went to give it to him when you saw the huge scar. It was red and didn’t scare you but you couldn’t look away. The thoughts that went through your mind was how in deep pain this person must of been in to endure and cope through that painful wound.
“Why don’t you take a picture? It’ll last longer.”
You wanted to hit yourself. You were taught to have manners and here you were staring at this young man. He probably felt self conscious and insecure and you made him feel worse. “Oh my God I am so sorry. I wasn’t meaning it like that. I’m just sorry that you had to go through that.” You read his name tag. “Zuko. Its a beautiful name.”
Zuko’s nose flared up, “yeah, thanks.” He grabbed forcefully at the money and you sat and awaited your order.
You dug your head in your arms. ‘Why are you like this Y/N? Why did you stare?’
“Here is your tea miss,” Iroh instead brought the tea out. “My nephew felt he didn’t want to scare you away.”
You bit your lip, “I am so sorry. Please forgive me, I didn’t mean to make him feel uncomfortable. It was so insensitive for me to do that. Please can we start over.” You felt so bad and guilty.
Iroh thought about it then pointed to the tea. “I make the tea myself. Taste it and I’ll think about your offer.”
You sipped the warm tea and no lie it was amazing. He definitely knew what he was doing. You weren’t thinking it was fantastic because you wanted to make amends with these folks but it was actually the truth.
“Honestly?”
Iroh nodded.
“This is really good and totally what I needed today. Thank you for this and please take this tip.” You gave Iroh the money. “Its a way to say I’m sorry.”
Iroh saw the money and smiled wide, “I can think we can find it in our hearts to forgive you.”
You finished your tea and went to the order counter and rang the bell. Zuko came out thinking you left.
“Yes?”
“I was thinking. Do you maybe want to go to the park tomorrow and catch some lunch? Its A way for me to apologize for my behavior today.”
Zuko looked around sheepishly, “I don’t know.”
“Please,” you pouted your lips.
Zuko agreed and the date was set.
After school the next day you went straight to the cafe.
You were going to be honest in saying Zuko was really cute. You were nervous and thinking about him the whole day non stop. You even dressed up for the occasion which rarely happens! Even Sokka knew and wouldn’t stop teasing you the whole day. He should of been your hype man but he made you feel like a little girl with a crush!
“You ready Zuko?”
“Yeah just give me a sec.” Zuko went in the back and came back with a changed look. He wore instead a red bomber jacket. Could he be anymore boyfriend material?
“Love the jacket.” You poked him on his side and he blushed awkwardly.
The way to the park was more silent and you were considering if this was a bad idea.
“So do you go to school or are you home schooled?’ You tried to break the ice.
“Actually, I go to the school not to far from here.” Zuko pointed in the direction your school was at.
“Wait! I think we go to the same school! Yeah, I’ve seen you before!”
“I’m not that hard to miss.” Zuko, in a way, brought up his scar.
“No I would remember you from being so handsome.” You smirked. Zuko almost choked. “That school sucks though. Its the same everyday. Work my butt off and then get kicked around like dirt by the schools mean girls. I feel like my life is a movie sometimes.”
“Yeah I get made fun of too.”
“I’m sorry.” You touched his arm.
“My dad did this to me,” he pointed to his scar. “Didn’t like me as a son and loved my sister more, I guess.”
“It’s a touchy subject. I didn’t realize it, I’m sorry.”
Zuko chuckled which was something new to you and almost shocking, “you can stop saying sorry. I already forgive you. Its not a big deal. I like you though, I think you’re cool.”
“Thanks.”
“And those people that make fun of you, they're crazy. They're probably jealous of you because you're so beautiful.”
You almost died right there! You were like already ready to get married to this man it felt like. Would it be wrong to ask if he was single? You prayed and hoped he was.
You two sat at the bench. It was such a peaceful, sunny day. You crossed your legs and faced him. “So Zuko, lets play truth or dare!”
“I’m not playing truth or dare.”
“Alright I choose dare to get it started.”
Zuko rolled his eyes. He knew you weren’t going to do this. “I dare you to ask that old lady over there if she knows any place that sells laxatives.” You shot up and Zuko immediately regretted it. “Y/N I was just kidding. Let me do another one.”
“A dares a dare my man.” You fist bumped your chest like the warrior you were. You went up to the old lady like a lost kid.
Zuko couldn’t help but laugh hard and try to shy away from the world.
You ran back and fist bumped the air with a skip. “In your face fire prince!” You nicknamed him. “She said around the block they got a drug store. Boom! Now your turn.”
“Okay, truth.”

Zuko surrendered to that and you closened up on him. He smelled of tea leaves that were light and airy and a burning flame of musk. He was really growing on you. You came closer and closer until your lips met. You wanted to keep still but Zuko moved his lips so you followed. You felt the whole shebang. Fireworks, butterflies, everything. You clutched onto his bomber jacket. They seemed so strong and vigorous the kisses but they were tiny pecks to start you off. A/N: Okay first off idk about the whole legality of a hero secretly having a stakeout in your home but let’s just IGNORE that pls and thnx LOL. I was scrolling through AUs and saw one that was like “im an assassin conducting a stakeout in your house and you weren’t supposed to be home until next week” and I said okay but what if it was pro hero Bakugo and BAM HERE WE ARE!! So pls enjoy my first baku fic, I tried to make him just as fiery but also slightly more mature since he be a PRO in this 😌
You gotta be honest, the last thing you were expecting to come home to was a famous pro hero conducting a stakeout in your living room.
You hadn’t even planned to be home at all this long weekend. You and your boyfriend had planned a weekend trip together, driven all the way to the hotel, only for him to promptly break up with you and confess that he’d been seeing another girl for almost the entirety of your relationship. You’d dumped him, kicked his butt out of the car, and promptly driven two hours back home, trying your best not to cry over it.
You’d lugged your suitcase up five flights of stairs to your door, fumbling with your house key before sliding it into the lock. You tiredly stepped into the dark apartment, closing your door behind you with a sense of finality.
While locking the door, you began to mumble out the stream of consciousness that had been running through your mind since the moment you left the hotel.“If I ever see his face again I’m seriously gonna break his nose. How dare he even-”
You walked a few steps forward into the living room, only to freeze up and let out a screech as the dark outline of a person moved from your couch. Your hand shot out behind you, and the metal baseball bat that you kept near the door flew through the air and into your hand. You took a prepared stance, ready to bash the intruder’s head in with your weapon.
“You have three seconds to tell me who you are before I start swinging!” You hiss, readying the bat.
“You aren’t supposed to be here,” The darkened figure said, taking a step towards.
“No! No, do not come any closer to me. I’ve had a very bad day and I will take my anger out on you!” You threaten, pointing that bat at the intruder to act as a barrier.
“Hey! Don’t do anything fucking rash! I’m just turning on the light, okay?” In a moment you were blinking into the soft light of the room, gaping at the man who you’d almost just clobbered with a bat.
Your arms slowly lowered, the tip of the bat resting on the floor as you blinked in disbelief. “...Ground Zero?” You asked dumbly.
“Yeah, that’s me,” He answered curtly. “Now what the hell are you doing here?”
You looked at light haired hero in disbelief before glancing around the room. “Uhhh, this is my apartment? We’re standing in my living room, and you were sitting on my couch. I think I’m the one who should be asking what you’re doing here.” You slung the bat over your shoulder and glared at him, trying to calm the butterflies in your stomach from the fact that one of Japan’s top pro heroes was standing in your living room.
“I don’t have to tell you anything,” He grumbled, walking back to the couch and grabbing his phone. “WHAT THE HELL?” Ground Zero yelled as his phone flew out of his hand and into yours. His eyes closed and he huffed out an angry sigh. “Fucking telekisnesis. I forgot that was your quirk.”
Your mouth opened in surprise and you clutched his phone to your chest. “How do you know what my quirk is?”
Ground Zero opened his eyes and glared harshly at you. Questioning and antagonizing the most temperamental pro hero was probably not my smartest move you thought as he began stalking towards you.
“F/n L/n, early 20s, telekisnesis quirk, barista and occasional babysitter, lives alone, has been dating her boyfriend for five months, and, most importantly, isn’t supposed to be home for four days because she was on a trip with her shitty ass boyfriend!” He finished his statement with a growl, and his red eyes felt as if they were burning a hole in your face.
You averted your gaze, shuffling your feet as you mumbled, “Well you’re right that he is a shitty ass boyfriend.”
“Listen, I don’t have tme for your drama. According to our intel, you shouldn’t be here until Monday night,” He said accusingly.
“Well I didn’t want me to be back this early either!” You said, letting go of the bat and sending it back to it’s spot by the door. Your hands tightened into fists in frustration and you pushed past the intimidating hero, making your way into the kitchen.
“Hey- don’t you fucking walk away from me!” Ground Zero stomped behind you, staring in disbelief as you started rummaging through your pantry. “I asked you a question!”
You turned around to face him, holding a full package of cookies. “Guess what, Ground Zero? I don’t care!” You exclaimed, opening the package. “Honestly? I don’t even care why you’re in my apartment! Go ahead, make yourself at home! Sit on my couch, eat my food, watch my TV, it doesn’t even matter! The past five months of my life have been a fucking lie, so please just leave me alone to cry in my room and eat my feelings away.” You shoved a cookie into your mouth and tried to step past him. The hero side stepped into your path, and no matter which way you tried to go, he was in front of you. You were just about ready to take a swing at him when he started talking.
“Y/n,” He said. Hearing him use your name startled you enough to stop you in place. He huffed out a quick sigh before speaking. “We’ve been tracking down a rising villainous organization for half a year now. Eveytime that we get close to making the bust, they pick up and move operations. This time, we’re one step ahead of them.” He gently took your arm and guided you back into the living room and over to the window. “We have to take extra precautions when dealing with them, since any sign that the police are on to them causes them to run.” He points out the window to the building next door. It was a squat, rectangular warehouse of four stories. With you apartment being on the fifth floor, it had the perfect view in through a poorly covered sky light.
The pro hero switched out the lights in the room, allowing you to see clearly out and into the other building. You crouched down to get an even better look, and Ground Zero lowered himself down next to you. He handed you a pair of binoculars and pointed to the left side of the skylight, where you could see a group of people working at a long table. Looking through the binoculars brought the figures into clearer view.
“Ground Zero, are they-”
“Bakugo,” He said, interrupting you. “Just- Bakugo is fine, okay?”
You glanced at him in surprise before looking back into the adjacent building. “Alright then, Bakugo. Are they making-” You squinted and focused harder on the objects lying on the table. “Support items?”
“Yeah that’s right,” He responded. “A black market organization for support items to supply to villains. We’ve been through hell trying to track the weapons back to them, but we had a breakthrough a few weeks ago.”
You hummed in thought, shoving a cookie in your mouth before offering one to the pro hero. Bakugo’s eyebrows raised in surprise, but he accepted it nonetheless.
“So you needed my apartment to finish getting your dirt on them, and then you planned on doing your big bust?”
“More or less, yeah. And being here,” He gestured vaguely to your apartment. “Was critical because that skylight was in the perfect place to capture incriminating photos of them doing deals earlier tonight. We’re fucking finally ready to finish this.”
“And how many heroes are on this job, exactly?”
Bakugo held up a hand, counting on his fingers as he thought through it. You hid a smile behind your hand at the gesture. “I guess a dozen or so, plus the local police force. There’s a good number of those shitty criminals in there, but we’ve faced a lot worse.”
You sighed, eating another cookie. “Well, sorry that my breakup got in the way of your important hero plans. I could leave I guess, maybe stay with a friend for the weekend-”
“Shut the hell up, I’m not gonna kick you out of your own damn apartment,” He said, rising from his spot on the floor beside you and going back to his supplies laid out on the couch. “I’m not exactly a very patient person so the bust is happening within an hour anyways. There are heroes and police stationed all around in the other buildings and streets, so I won’t be in your hair for that much longer.”
“Oh,” Was all you said, slowly putting a cookie in your mouth.
The hero stopped fiddling with his supplies and plopped onto the couch, his furrowed eyes meeting your gaze. You raised an eyebrow in question, holding out the cookie package in a silent offering.
“No that’s not- did you say ‘breakup’?”
You huffed out a humorless laugh. “Uh huh. Bastard was cheating on me for basically our entire relationship. I guess I just wasn’t good enough or something.” You bit the inside of your lip and looked down at your lap, furiously trying not to cry. I’ve already embarrassed myself enough, I definitely do not need him to see me crying right now.
“But don’t worry about me, I should just leave you to get ready to, er- arrest some criminals and- do your hero stuff.” You quickly stood up, clutching the cookie package to your chest, and tried to make your way past him while hiding you face. “I’ll just- go sit in my room so I don’t bother you.”
You’d almost made it to the hallway when you suddenly bumped into something that was definitely not your furniture.
You let out an “oof” as you collided with Bakugo’s chest, his hands landing on your shoulders to steady you. You glanced up at him, and his face showed he was just as surprised as you were. He then realized he was still touching you, and took his hands off your shoulders like it had burned him.
“Listen- it’s shitty that he did that to you, and there’s no way you deserved it,” Bakugo said, and the absolute sincerity of it made you burst into tears.
Bakugo started to panic then. “Oh shit, what’s wrong? Did I say it wrong or-” He cut himself off as you vehemently started shaking your head, trying to rub the tears away.
“No no no no,” You said, assuring him. You sniffled, desperately trying to stop your crying. “I guess that I just-” A fresh wave of tears hit you and started rolling down your face, making Bakugo hover his hands in front of him, unsure of what to do.
“I know that I’m not very good at this, but if you want I can go and beat the shit out of him or something,” He said, making you laugh as you wiped your face.
“I was trying to say that it just- meant a lot to me, that you said that,” you said as you started to calm down. “I didn’t really believe it before, that I didn’t deserve that to happen to me, but when your favorite pro hero says it to you…” You shrugged, giving him a wobbly smile. “Maybe it is true.”
He gave you an assuring smile that you could almost call a smirk. “Well you better believe it, honey, because it’s the truth.” He paused, smugly crossing his arms. “So, your favorite hero, huh?”
“Ahaha,” you felt your face go warm, and you gave him a sheepish smile. “Sorta kinda yeah.” The admission seemed to surprise him, like he didn’t know how to respond.
The beeping of Bakugo’s phone in the living room drew the two of you out of the moment. He bumped his shoulder playfully into yours as he passed. “Glad to hear that I’m your favorite.”
You scrambled to the kitchen to put away your cookies and splash a bit of water on your face as he answered the phone. You could just make out his conversation over the running water.
“What’s up, nerd?... Yeah, I know. I got all the pictures we needed... Good. Everything’s still quiet in there… Got it, I’ll see you in a few.”
He hung up his phone just as you edged into the living room, watching him glance out the window into the criminal’s headquarters. He let out a huff of a sigh as he started packing up his things.
You wandered in a little bit further. “So it’s time, then?” You asked. He looked up at you as he finished his packing.
“Yeah, time to beat some villain asses,” He said, shouldering his bag. “You gonna be alright?”
You gave him a soft smile. “I will be. I already feel a lot lighter, like the weight of a whole ass grown man has been released from my body.” Bakugo let out a snort of laughter before falling quiet. “Really, I will be.” You reassured him.
“Of course. But I was serious, if you ever need me to go and knock him around-”
You snickered at him. “Very hero-like.”
“Hell yeah it is,” He responded as you walked him towards the door, opening it for him. “Also maybe don’t go around telling people this happened, ‘cause I’ll probably get my ass kicked for sharing classified information.”
“My lips are sealed, pinky promise,” You said, holding your pinky out towards him. He scoffed but linked his pinky with yours nonetheless. “Good luck, Bakugo.” You started pulling your hand back before he grabbed it and pressed something into it.
“Thanks, sweetheart,” He said with a wink before making his way downstairs and out into the night. You slowly closed the door, leaning back against it and taking a deep breath before opening your hand.
Inside was a scrap of paper with a phone number scrawled across it, and the words “your fav hero” written below.
You may have looked out your window a little more than usual during the rest of the night.
