I indeed love my run of Amity as a character because she made an impactful LGBTQ show great, along with her endeavor on how she developed as a character. ( Also Green Hair AMity is Better.) because she had great drive melding her into the person she is, having to face her parents, falling in loving with luz.

Due to the high demand being a lgbt character at times, (even though we been starved and wanting more rep) has at times repercussions and flaws,if the writing, narrative & pacing is compromised in the show which shown after rewatching the series ANOTHER TOPIC.

I'm fully aware that she's a well-known fan favorite character ever since the show's green light along the panel interview with Dana Terrace hyped her up during the debut panel of the other shark cartoon she worked on, DOWN BELOW

After Rewatching the show I felt there was more to her then just being luz girlfriend,

(like other characters to never get there titular moments at time like the Hexside students.)

and how she was written in a one-sided straight forward manner which people overlook cause we had proud lgbt content to gush over, googling, blushing eyes and the creator saying no romance in the series yet we have a two girls hogging peoples potential and spotlight?!

which contributed to her name trending more & talked about compared to our main POC character (which I find weird & Staggering at times.)

The Favoritism

I feel the favoritism in fandom really says about how the show reacts TO OUR favorite characters, yes a world and great characters can be executed in titular episodes or moment you can let them see shine,

but diving into the season 1 of the show had its Rocky start till they started the real action in season 2 not to mention the kiss scene which put everyone on good edge however hogged (a titular poc spotlight.)

2013 10 22 - Episode 9x03 aired. (written by Eugenie Ross-Leming and Brad Buckner) In USA this episode was not airing in all states at once. The mainland USA was divided into two feeds:

I've been sitting on my thoughts since finishing the finale yesterday and I feel like I need to put them into words or I'm going to go crazy with nowhere to voice any of this.

So here's my jumbled thoughts on the HSMTMTS finale as a queer girl who grew up in Utah.

First things first, while I'm not a fan of the cheating arc as a whole, I do think it was at the very least as minimalistic as possible. Do I wish Big Red could have come to terms with his sexuality without kissing someone who has a boyfriend? Yes, of course. Seblos just as easily could still have a misscommunication arc over literally anything else and still ended up with their beautiful duet, while Redlyn could have an amicable breakup over just growing apart over the whole long distance thing.

HOWEVER, that isn't the main takeaway I want to make.

I grew up in Utah, not too far from East High. And even though I left after I graduated High School, there's always a big part of my heart that will always be a Utah girl. ("You can take the girl out of Salt Lake, but you can't take the Salt Lake out of the girl")

As a whole, I wish with all of my heart that I'd had this amount of LGBT rep (especially in Utah of all places) on TV when I was growing up and needed it the most. I'm so incredibly thankful knowing that my nephew back in Utah, and all of the other kids living there, have things like this that they can cheer on. Because being able to see other kids like you on screen, with friends and a support group, and getting a happily ever after? That MATTERS.

LGBT representation has come a long ways over the years, even comparing the original release of High School Musical where they'd wound up awkwardly pairing Ryan with Kelsie to avoid whatever people were saying at the time. Having characters that are HAPPY with who they are, openly, and getting to see those moments where they can be openly affectionate with their significant others and have it not be treated as weird is SUCH a good thing to see now. I only wish it was something I had as a young girl growing up in Utah and hiding who she was because she was scared.

So did I cry? Yeah, I was pretty much in constant tears from about episode 6 all the way up to the For Good post credits scene. Both because I was sad to see it ending, but also because I was just incredibly grateful that it existed at all.

Now, I'm not here to say those characters are nice people but that doesn't mean their fans like them because they are "hetero" and just like a hot guy. They are good characters and had cool dynamics with Kagome (yes that's subjective and you might disagree with it but some people did enjoy it). I do agree that Sango should have been on the poll but there are legit reasons people enjoy darker ships or enemies to lovers trope, they can be engaging to some. So to dismiss it as just "hetero girls liking a hot guy" is very bad. The reason I'm sending you this ask is because I think you are a good person and might recieve well my comment. First of all thank you for sending this message non-anonymously! I know it can be stressful but it is definitely better for discussions. If I see anyone sending you hate over this I will fight them personally.

When I said “this fandom is painfully straight” I did not mean “every single person who likes these ships is straight”, that would be ridiculous. But it IS a straight ship. My point is that gay ships are almost never taken seriously in this fandom, as shown by the fact that people ship Kagome with all the male characters she canonically doesn’t like before shipping her with girls that she actually likes. I find that sad. Literally the only gay ship in this fandom that has a sizable fanbase is Inu/sess, but that’s another can of worms.

I’m not here to change anyone’s mind about sess/kag or kog/kag, I’m very much a ‘ship and let ship’ person. Those ships have existed for years so I know very well that me saying “Kagome Higurashi would never canonically love these guys” is not going to change anyone’s mind. So I’ll spare you the whole rant but I’ll say that I’ve read some sess/kag stuff (Raindrops and other fanfics I found years ago) and I’ve never seen Sesshomaru portrayed as anything other than a kind, suave, gentleman who saves Kagome from Inuyasha the toxic, two timer. His canonical racism and lack of empathy for others is gone. So I have a hard time believing people when they tell me they love the ship because it’s a “sexy villain/heroine, enemies to lovers ships” lol. Anyway like I said, I’m not going to change your mind and you won’t change mine, so no need to argue about this.

Also for added context regarding the “gay ships aren’t taken seriously” issue, a couple weeks ago a bunch of people on Twitter (inukag shippers) made tweets saying they were “disgusted” by the fact that many people headcanon Moroha to be a lesbian. That her blushing at and complimenting girls is “not evidence that she’s gay” and that the “real canon” is that she will end up with Koga’s son (who doesn’t even exists in any Inuyasha media!!!). It’s not an isolated issue with Sesshomaru or Koga fans, as I pointed out the people doing this were inukag shippers and they were called out by other inukag shippers. This fandom as a whole is just not the most friendly when it comes to lgbt+ stuff.

So yeah, I have nothing else to add. I don’t see how my language was harmful if I’m being honest. Regardless of people’s own sexual/romantic orientations this fandom mostly talk about and support straight ships. This isn’t really a call to action either, I’m not telling people what to ship, I was just jokingly pointing that out and hoping that next time people would just consider the fact that gay ships exists as well.

Fav Series to get to know me a little better.

Saw the post from deaddee-anime-brownfanlady and thought to join in on the fun.

Clarence - For me personally, I think Clarence is absolutely charming and funny. There will always be an episode where I will chuckle at the clever joke or the reference it made towards a show/anime. I even seen episodes where they have collaborations with popular animators and it is done really well. Overall, I think Clarence is a great show and most of it's humor, I use nowadays.

Tales of Arcadia - This trilogy is a big part of who I am, I read the book, I seen all the episodes and including the movie. Even though the movie was a major disappointment for me as a fan, I still recommend this trilogy to people. Not only is Guillermo del Toro a great writer but a amazing filmmaker who gives a good rep for Latinos such as myself. For new viewers out there, I would recommend watch Trollhunters, 3 Below, and Wizards but humbly skip over the movie, it is lackluster and would not satisfy anyone.

Ballmastrz 9009 - Just hearing the whisper of Baalllmastters give me goosebumps to my arms. I love this show created by Adult Swim but all of Cristy Karacas work is incredible. She as a creator made me love Superjail and a appreciate her work. Ballmastrz 9009 is about Gaz Digby who is a celebrity athlete of this game called, "The Game" and is trying to mentor and win with one of the most worst teams.

Disenchantment - Created by the all-well-knowing Matt Groening, of course you heard of his work like "The Simpsons" or "Futurama". Now Disenchantment is one of his underrated works and if you love fantasy and Matt Groening, I'll think you might enjoy it. There is a lot of LGBT representation and lots of mystical creatures. There's even a hot antagonist who is terrifying as hell and speaking of hell Satan is hot, Luci is literally my favorite character. (P.S I just recently finish season 5 a month ago so I'm very excited.)

Derry Girls - Derry Girls is Netflix Original Teen Sitcom TV Show about Northern Ireland and it's conflict, so in every season you can see the political conversations and how much these teenagers life change overtime. I saw Derry Girls when it first came out and honestly I think I cried when it ended, it is such a great show. If you love TV Teen shows with Irish girls yelling at each other and starting conflict then this is the show for you.

The Umbrella Academy -This is one of those shows where I found the visual novel after I saw the TV series and I got to say all the actor did amazing. Such a great series and I absolutely recommend it to any new views out there. If you are interested in people with powers messing up and trying to fix their own mistakes then you will enjoy The Umbrella Academy. I would love to continue but I got lazy. Also having class in a few minutes.

What you call shallow I call respectful, to the artist at least. Headcanons and shipping are supposed to be fun, but the only thing I've ever seen from the MHA fandom is insults and buzzwords being thrown back at people who don't subscribe to their headcanons or interpretations. Towards other fans AND Horikoshi. That's why I focused on the common 'ur homophobic' L take initially. I said obvious because it's stated rather plainly:

If Horikoshi wanted any of his characters to be anything that's not considered the societal norm in Japan (a VERY conservative and conformative country still), he would have said so already like he had already for those three, which in of itself is pretty daring with the way LGBT is taken in Japan IRL, but I digress. The fact that he hasn't and didn't says to me that no other character besides those three are canonically LGBT, and since these are his characters, that's the final word because the series is over. I don't really subscribe to the whole coding thing, a lot of them are based off of stereotypes (though I know not all of them are) but even still, personally doesn't sit right with me since it can be such a mixed bag. And in a fandom like MHA, that's basically blasphemy.

Izuku doesn't just blush or get flustered around Ochako, he does with multiple women on the show. He's never seen or even acts that way around any of the men, even in the bath scenes. Same for Bakugo. "That's literally the bare minimum for a straight ship to be valid: one or two awkward blushes and boom, no questions asked" and for gay ships:

Anyone can go through everything that Izuku and Bakugo do and remain close platonically or as (found) family like they do; I'm honestly surprised found family BKDK isn't more popular. Neither are a lesser form of love and it shouldn't be treated as such, as hated, or be overlooked as it does in fandoms or in general. And it shouldn't be seen as hate for the ship either, it may be unpopular but I've seen people on Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, etc take anything non-romantic BKDK as hate towards the ship when the OP has tags that says "this is not hate".

I say insufferable fans because I've only ever seen threats, wishing bad health, doxxing, death threats, and things alike coming from BKDK shippers at Horikoshi because he goes against their widely accepted interpretation/headcanons and I had hoped that this sort of shit was left in the Steven Universe fandom when I first started getting into MHA. I haven't seen anything like that coming from any other popular ship personally, but then again, I could always be wrong. Honestly, I wouldn't find romantic BKDK half as annoying if it wasn't for the majority of its fans, especially on Instagram who have openly told me to stop shipping platonic/brotherly BKDK and to just ship them romantically and then to kill myself when I told them no. The way they treat anyone who doesn't see their headcanons as canon, with the ship or the characters in general is just wild, to put it lightly.

MHA is not a shounen-ai like Yuuri on ICE. Not accepting that how these characters interact with each other doesn't contribute to them being gay or even bisexual and that they aren't interested in each other romantically in even the slightest sense is not hate or intolerance, and it shouldn't be seen and treated as such. Because that's the kind of viewpoints that make casual anime viewers and readers of MHA turn away and give it its bad rep., which Horikoshi doesn't deserve. Only Horikoshi can confirm or deny which character is gay or not, and he has. Whether people accept it or not is not his problem and he shouldn't be harrassed for it, like how people and most BKDK fans did when he dropped 431.

If Hori ever does come around and says, "Yeah, Izuku/Bakugo/whoever else is (insert not straight sexuality and/or is not cis here)", then I'll accept it, no questions asked. Because that's canon and what came from the creator himself, and I prefer to stick to what the people who created their characters say over any fandom interpretation, headcanon, or reading any day. People can do it for Dana Terrace with The Owl House, so it can be done in kind for Hori.

"Let people have fun. Let people ship", those are some bold words, don't let the anti-proshippers hear you. And I'm not trying to convince anybody, just felt like giving my two cents.

so are all other ship fandoms. i've had experience with toxic shippers of other ships. but you won’t see me generalizing the ship's fandom over them. every ship has its fair share of toxic fans. so why is it that only sonamy fans get all the heat for being toxic? i'm not denying that there are bad eggs in our fandom but i don't think its fair yo act like we're a special breed of toxic. i've seen fans of other ships with r*pe on amy yet people don't use them to generalize the whole ship's fandom.

in the 2000s-2010s, maybe we did have a lot of fans who thoight that way. but nowadays whenever sonamy fans claim its canon, its always done in a joking way. its what fans lf literally every other ship do. i've seen people jokingly say "x ship is canon" because character a looked at character b funny. but no one ever attacks them for it. so why is it that only we get attacked when a lot of the time we aren't even serious?? we KNOW our ship will never actually be canon. we KNOW sega has no intention of changing their dynamic as of now. we're just having fun with the moments we're given. especially in recent media. why do y'all froth at the mouth over that. don't like it? just ignore and block.

and to be honest? as sonamy is now, it can be considered semi canon. like, give me a platonic explanation of the "amy, i should've made up my mind sooner" line in frontiers. IF sega decides to make them a couple, their dynamic still won't change. it'll still be very subtle except they're actually a couple now and you won't even notice it. and even then no one's stopping you from liking other ships. and if they are, well the block button exists for a reason.

i have my beef with old sonamy fanfics. but i have a feeling the people who made them were young kids and teenagers. i'll bet a lot of them have grown up now and have better things to do in life. now i hardly see any sonamy fanfic that villainizes sally or makes sonic an asshole for the sake of angst. the more extreme shippers from the 2000s-early 2010s should not be used to judge shippers today.

imagine if i used the sonadow shippers i encountered in 2014 deviantart, who were mostly allocishet girls who shipped them because they fetishized gay men, made both of them extremely ooc (anyone remember the terms seme and uke?), and of course hated amy for getting in the way of their ship, to judge the sonadow shippers of today who are now mostly mellow and enjoy their ship in peace, it wouldn't be fair now would it?

most of the ages in sonic make no sense! there's a line in sonic forces where infinite claims sonic has defeated eggman for decades, and sonic's only supposed to be 15. granted using sonic forces may not be the best example but it shows how little sega cares about the ages. and now they've even been renoved from sonic channel. AND even ian flynn himself has said not to worry about pairings like sonamy and knuxouge because there's nothing wrong with them.

and i KNOW people are gonna take this to mean "so shipping things like s0nt@ils is okay now??" no, because tails is still coded as a little kid. sonic and most of the cast are coded as teenagers.

there's people who ship tails and fiona, and that's an actual toxic ship with an actual problematic age gap. but they don't get half the heat that sonamy shippers get.

I rewatched ROP in entirety and I do think it's far more cohesive as a whole instead of episodic in that it resolves a lot of the pacing problems I had on first, weekly, watch and also it's more fun to see the hint vs payoff in this way, at least for me.

Then I rewatched the entirety of the PJ LOTR movies just for old time's sake.

And currently I'm rewatching the entirety of the PJ Hobbit movies and you know?

I think my problem is less the feel- it *feels* like a return to Middle Earth and is more of a fantastical fantasy escapade like the book was intended to be as a bedtime story to his son. Of course the overuse of CGI and unnecessary bloat and lazy sound direction (very little original music, a lot of it is reused from the lotr movies, most striking when azog walks towards thorin to the fucking NAZGUL music of all things) complaints remain but the *feel* is fine.

But I think what bothers me most about the Hobbit is the unnecessary changes to the story itself. Azog's dead by the time of the Hobbit in the book, the book specifically says that Thorin's entire line had absolutely no involvement in the fall of Doriath, the company willingly goes to Rivendell (also the elves sing a silly song about how silly the dwarves look with their beards a'wagging), despite being prisoners in Thranduil's halls they're treated well and fed and not put into cells because elves don't torture prisoners (said directly in the book in question), Thranduil had nothing to do with the Nauglamír, an elf with a huge wound like that that presumably hasn't healed in thousands of years is either fading or corrupted by evil, Legolas has never acted Like That ever, holy shit Thranduil would NEVER draw blade against one of his own people over what amounts to a petty squabble have we learned nothing from the kinslayings-

I don't mind the changes that help drive the plot or tie things together. I don't mind the Radagast bits or the Dol Goldur stuff. I don't even really mind the Tauriel bits outside of thinking the dwarf/elf romance is a bit silly and also that they did her actress dirty. I have little nitpicks here and there but I feel they are forgiveable in the long run as they don't really change the feel or the story.

But there's a lot of just unnecessary additions and changes and for what? What was the bit about the necklace needed for? Why shoehorn in a romance you promised both fans and actress you wouldn't do? What is PJ's obsession with making elf lords in the third age be copies of Thingol? What's with the weird transmisogyny- how is it the books were written by a stuff Catholic war vet and have zero canon LGBT representation and somehow manage to be less transphobic than movies made in the modern era? What's with the vegan elves, Thranduil's literally roasting meat during his party before the dwarves drop in? Why did we resurrect a long-dead character when Bolg, his son, is literally right there?

I still enjoy the return to Middle Earth but certainly these massive departures from canon affect every subsequent watch. *That* is what changes the feel for me, because conflicts have been added where there was none, and taken away where there was plenty.

Personally I think the biggest issue I have is that it probably should have been a 2-film journey and not 3, and 3 added time for stupid shit like this.

because nd stevenson worked so fucking hard to get the green light for catradora's happy ending you know? he worked so hard because he understood the power that positive gay representation holds and wore that responsibility with immense courage. he also worked hard to incorporate religious symbolism into she-ra in such a way that it 1) was digestible for young children, 2) would get through dreamworks executive red tape, and 3) would send a very clear, powerful message that gay people do not deserve divine punishment.

AND THEN HERE'S KILLING EVE... a show with basically no red tape in comparison, no limits on what they could do, and they make the deliberate choice to go with a tragic ending and used religious symbolism to......... be artsy. that's literally it. without appearing to have any respect for what religious oppression actually means to lgbt+ people. i can see what they were trying to do but when most viewers take your gay character's death to be a punishment for her sins..... uhh you messed up broski. god i KNOW nd stevenson is fuming over this i just know it 💀💀💀

it's wild that she-ra and killing eve are very very similar shows, yet their finale and overall messages could not be more different. i think it just comes down to having queer people tell queer stories. i'm so grateful for nd stevenson, i'm so grateful for she-ra, my standards for gay rep are so high because of it. which is why i'm not even upset about killing eve honestly lmao i just think it's kind of funny?

Was definitely my favorite show. I still love that show sm. Definitely has the most active fan base of them all. Making art for this show definitely inspired me to be the artist i am now. -- This show rased me, and raised me good. The older fandom is questionable, there's definitely some generational trama given to us Gen Z by them, but it was a very pro-lgbt space, and i loved this so sm.

2017-2021: DuckTales!! (Woo-hoo)

Always kinned Louie, and always will. I mean hell, i named my first MLP OC after Lena!! -- I really loved the episodes Quack Pack and GlomTales! (the latter if wich being because is was A. it Louie centered episode, and B. he proved to his mother that his scamming isn't all bad which i was proud of him for). I think i loved him sm just bc, well one, my favorite color has always been green, but two he's so relatable. Like the episode where he wasn't so sure and up to the idea of Della suddenly coming back and being his mom when he'd never even spoke to her once was just so good. Now i can look back and see how it was relatable, but even then when i didn't know what ik now i found him to be the most logical person in that situation.

2019-2023: The Owl House

When MLP ended, this was the show that came in and swooped me up. As of writing, the shows only been officially over for about an hour. And while yes, DuckTales was there when MLP ended, it still definitely made me feel like something was missing. It did take about a season for me to realize TOH was filling that feeling but it got there. This show has probably effected me about as much as MLP. Like through the episode “Lost in Language”, apon watching some reviews and theories on the episode, i found out Luz was bisexual. At the time i hadn't really heard the term b4, but only about a day of finding it out, i was already comfortable going by it! It just fit too well!! I also got my preferred name/s from Emira and Edric!! Sigh, i could write sm about TOH since it literally just ended, but i don't want to be here all day.

Favorite character then: Hunter, Now: The Collector. // Kinnie: Edric and Emira all the way, baby.

And now we're here. I already know this will be the thing i obsess over for the next 3-4 years, i can smell it. If things wrap up before 2026, i know the fandom will still be alive. Like idk maybe I'll laugh at my naivete in like two years rereading this post but come on!! Everything lines up way too well!! When MLP ended, TOH was there. Not TOH is ending and, oh, what's that?? WH!? I don't think its too unrealistic to think this story can take 3 test to make.. look say DHMIS, The Mandela Catalogue, and the Walten Files!!

Yes there are shows that ended justly, like Kid Cosmic and CentaurWorld. They only planned on having two seasons so they ended great and with a banger. But like,, Dead End, and Glitch Techs, and give BNA another season, goddamn it!!

Hello! Sometimes I see you post stuff from IF blogs and I've recently started playing some IF games, which I've enjoyed so far. Do you have any IF stories you'd recommend in particular? I'm not attached to any particular genre and I don't need romance or a self-insert main character, (though I'm not opposed to either). Though, it's a definite plus if it's LGBTQ+ inclusive! I'm not really sure what the "cornerstones" are of IF so I'll take any and all recommendations haha

Oh god, I play so many IFs. So many. And it’s not even close to all of them, but I’m trying!!

Tbh IFs without romance seems to be very rare, I think because when I think IF I think Choice of Games, and those pretty much always have romance in them. At least, the most well known ones do. But a well done one without romance would be nice too!

Okay, this is a list of my favourites! They’re all LGBT+ inclusive, and most have gender selectable love interests, or at least ones that change gender depending on the gender and sexuality combination you pick. In no particular order, of course.  Behind a cut because I’m gonna give them each a mini review. Because I haven’t done that yet.

Mind Blind: I absolutely love our big brother Nick, I love how witty and sharp so much of the dialogue is, I love how the MC clearly has a rather large handicap, but is still such an important person to so many people and not looked down on in the slightest. And when they are, we all know it’s because that person is a jerk! They’re not defined by what they aren’t, but what they are, and that’s a great message.

Shepherds of Haven: Part of why I love this one so much is I just love fantasy settings and this one just pulls it off so well. The cast is full of amazing characters, and I gotta say I die inside pretty regularly for not being able to afford the patreon content, lol. The author puts so much amazing stuff on there, and gives us so much great content in the game and through answers on tumblr, and you can tell this whole thing is just the best thing ever to them, and that makes it the best ever for us readers too!

The Wayhaven Chronicles: I’d be shot if I didn’t mention this one, the series that literally killed dashingdon when the book 3 demo dropped!! Again, another author that cares a lot and does their best to do right by their fans. We’ve been given drip after drip of these amazing characters backstories, and I just cannot wait for more! It’s definitely very romance centered, but the overall plotlines are also very good, and I have to say that no matter who I romance, I just feel like the group as a whole is a family. And that’s wonderful.

Speaker: I really like the lore. I really like the lore. I can’t wait until we get more of the overall plotline. Mostly I want my Speaker to get in deep trouble so Seb, Li and Seer (best sister ever) go off and beat the shit out of whatever is causing it. This probably says something about me, but what can I say, I thrive on angst and inflicting near death injuries on my OCs. Sometimes I even kill them, although all of this is offtopic. Or is it? I guess we’ll find out, although I doubt we’ll actually be able to kill off Speaker. And yes, I am definitely playing the Seb & Li poly route. I love them both so much. 

Wilhelmina: I love vampires, ok? Ok? And this one is based off Dracula!! The OG!! And you can choose Drac’s gender!! Shit, sign me up forever!! Yeah, she might be literally killing my bff, torturing my fiancé and low key fucking with my mind, but vampires are hot!! Let me live! Or not. But yeah, this is a really well done retelling of the Dracula novel and I like how well it works as an IF. Did I mention I like vampires?? Especially when they get all monstery?? (This one has an MC with a set gender, as it’s based on an already existing literary figure. Mina can have a same sex relationship with dracula, if you make drac a female, or with Lucy, a female love interest.)

More Things in Heaven and Earth: Hi Nell!! First off, I gotta uncover a deep shame of mine. My family literally has a Shakespeare heirloom collection. As in, my greatgrandfather passed down through the family a collection of Shakespeare that was published in 1911. In ye olde englishe. I tried to read it when I was like 10 and was like what language is this?? What the fuck? What the fuck??? And ended up reading As You Like It, a bit of Romeo and Juliet, and a little of Hamlet. Didn’t touch the rest of it. I only got into the other stories through trashy ya reimaginings. That said, this retelling of Hamlet inspired me to go read the whole of the original and now I have a lot of fears for these characters that I’m so much more attached to, oh god I hope my Ophelia has a happy ending. I hope Hamlet himself has a happy ending. The dialogue is so well done, everyone is engaging, and yeah it made me finish an old af book when nothing else did. (This one also has an MC with a set gender, female, for the same reason. However, there are two gender variable love interests, so you can very much play a bi or gay Ophelia if you so choose.)

Guenevere: I love King Arthur. All the myths. I have so many books based on the King Arthur mythos, oh dear god. I love pretty much every version of it. All the movie and tv shows too! I just can’t get enough of those knights. I could go on for paragraphs about how courtly love worked and how all the different social castes were, but I’ll try not to. This series lets you customize Guen as a character to an amazing degree, considering that she’s also based on an actual literary figure like the other two I mentioned above. It really feels like she becomes your own character, and yet she still exists within this world very very well. I worry quite a bit that the author might have bit off more than they can chew with the current book they’re working on, what I’ve seen of it looks absolutely massive in scale. What is out so far is a wonderful read though, full of drama and laughter and lots of chances to make the story your own.

Bastard of Camelot: Yep! Another King Arthur series! Sue me! This one lets you set Mordred’s gender though, so it’s more inclusive in that way. It is very interesting to play as one of the “bad guys” of the King Arthur mythos. You can play them as straight up evil, as good, or you know, a bit of column a and a bit of column b. Or they can just be a rude little shit. It’s got dragons too! You get a dragon pet! Dragons are cool. It can be a bit tough to play sometimes, since a lot of people dislike Mordred quite a lot because of prejudices. Hopefully this will change a bit later in the series if you’ve been a fairly good person up to that point. Gotta say though, as a warning, that Mordred is a product of incest. It’s not glossed over, and it does cause a lot of problems for them in the story.

God of the Red Mountain: I just love that this inspired me to read more chinese mythology tbh. There is just so much here! And it’s just such a good read. I wish I was better at describing things. The MC being a spirit that you can define, the whole setting, most of the love interests also being spirits, the massive amount of history and culture and lore, how it all fits together. It is such a well done story. I really wish it got more attention than it does. I still miss Big Sister. I still can’t wait to find out more about the foxes, and how we can heal our MC.

The Nameless: Another one that lets you play as something otherworldly. I love the lore behind this one, and I love all of the cast I’ve met. I kind of like that our MC isn’t loved right off the bat, that we’ll have to win over all of our love interests and even the other npcs. I’m up for the challenge! Everything I’ve read on the tumblr for these characters just makes me love them all more tbh. I love how much they’ve written for all of them! Most of all though, I love Oisein. All the art of them is just *chef kiss* and their personality is magical.

A Mage Reborn: This is a really recent one but!! Wow, it’s really well done! That cliffhanger!! Oof!! Not many books literally start with killing your MC off! That takes guts! I told the author this already, but I love the way they formatted this, the way it starts with the end, so to speak, and then fills it all out. It just made everything feel so poignant, how MC is literally looking back at all these moments in time in the last minutes they have before they die. Shit. That’s powerful. And there’s gonna be more??? Can’t wait for that angst. Give me that drama. Of course I picked the one who had me killed, that’s just how I am!

These are all just the COG type games, there are a few twine games with graphics I’d throw on here, but the list is long enough as it is and they feel like they’re in a different category to me. Maybe it’s just me?

1. book I've read the most times: I reread a lot of books from high school for some reason but I think the main one would be the lunar chronicles

2. top 5 books: I have a real problem with reading books that are just okay and not GREAT so I don't know how to answer this. thst being said I still really like six of crows and also pride and prejudice and Frankenstein <3

3. my favorite genre is either scifi or fantasy

4. section of bookstore I browse: the whole thing, but mainly the fiction and sci/fantasy sections. I I peak in the manga and comic sections

5. I buy books pretty sparingly in recent years. if I do I usually do thriftbooks or barnes and noble because I get gift cards for there

6. I haven't been reading too much the past month but I did just finish a book literally a few hours ago: legendborn. it was actually really good and I hope it ends with a throuple <3. I'm only saying actually because I had to stop reading two other books because I was just having a terrible time with them

15. I guess I'll review legendborn since that's the last thing I read. I was pretty into it from the start and then when the whole king arthur stuff first got introduced I was pretty 🙄 but I liked the main character and was interested in the mystery of her mom so I kept reading and im pretty glad I did. the writing was fun and I liked some of the characters. I think the author wanted me to care about more characters than I did which is my bad but in my defense some of them were really flat and gave me nothing to work with. I also liked how casually gay and non binary people were. this book was kind of littered with lgbt which was nice to see
